2. Fictional - Indiana Jones and the
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
The film is about a man called Indiana Jones that is searching in South America
for a Gold Monkey Statue.
The purpose of this product is to entertain the audience therefore they will like
it. The target audiences are from children to adults because the genre of the
film is Adventure and a little bit of Action. The evidence on this is the use of
explosions and dangerous traps from the pyramid.
The film is a linear story/narrative because it doesn’t have flashbacks to show
the past. The representation is white people and Hispanic that are lower class
there is also gender representation of male and female is stereotypical.
Throughout the film the mode of address is 1st and 2nd person.
The film has some use of stars for example Harrison Ford that played on the
new and old Star Wars film. Another example is Karen Allen that played on
Shaka Zulu.
3. Factual - BBC’s The Life of Mammals
(2002)
The purpose of this product is to give out a message and information
about Siberian tigers. The target audiences are from the children to adults
because is a documentary and is suitable for everyone.
The documentary is a linear story because it doesn’t have flashbacks which
means it doesn’t go to the past. The narrative is a man that talks about
Siberian tigers and their history.
The representation are animals and white people which it is address to the
2nd and 3rd person with a serious tone.
This documentary has a use of stars because David Attenborough is the
voice presents of a lot of nature programs.
4. Promotional - Fairy Liquid (1991)
The purpose of this product is to advertise fairy liquid to increase the
audience. The target audience I believe is women because they
stereotypically wash-up the dishes. The genre is advertising because is
trying to promote a product.
This advert is a linear story because it doesn’t have flashback which means
to go to the past. The narrative is the mother and her daughter talking
about how soft is fairy making her hands.
The representation is white people, women and children which is address
to the 1st and 2nd person with a normal tone and exiting tone.
This advert doesn’t have any use of stars because they want to appeal to
the average house women.
