The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a UN organization that advocates for global development and helps countries access knowledge and resources to improve living conditions; it was established in 1965 and works in 177 countries on issues like poverty reduction, democratic governance, environmental protection and disaster recovery through local projects and partnerships. The UNDP coordinates UN development activities and assists countries in achieving the UN's Millennium Development Goals.
