Similarities Between Hunting And Hunting
Hunting and fishing have been around since the beginning of the world. Soon humans would come
along and carry on the practice of surviving and thriving this ancient way. Both hunting and fishing
are skills that are still used today, but are not used so much as to survive but as a sport. What are the
similarities and differences between hunting? Well for those of the readers that have not participated in
either events or do engage but have never wondered about this question, hopefully this essay will
answer all of your questions about the similarity and differences between hunting and fishing. To be
prosperous in both hunting and fishing one must be able to determine the location of the animal you
are stalking. While hunting may be easier to track the animal, fish can only move so much because
they are stuck in a body of water. Both deer and bass prefer to stick in cover of bushes and fallen trees.
Both bass and deer ¨bed during the day; however bass like deer will occasionally move in daylight.
Deer can arguably be easier to find because of new technologies like scopes and rifles that can shoot at
long ranges, but while bass fishing you are most of the time on a craft which is sitting on top of the
water giving you an advantage of being able to see through the it to see the fish swimming. There is
also new technology that uses sonar to map the bottom of the body of water and it can track fish
movement. Both hunting and fishing require one to be able to read and

Martin Luther King Letter From Birmingham Jail Analysis
Questions for Dr. Martin Luther King s Letter From Birmingham Jail
Please upload your responses to the D2L dropbox under Assignments
1. What do you think King s central claim (argument) is in this letter?
The letter here seems to serve several purposes. First, it is consistent with his ultimate goal of
justifying his case as in the name of justice. He does not want to confirm the deeply selected fear of
his audience that the black movement is an extremist set that will engender violence. Thus, by using
restraint, he receives a sympathetic hearing, to which he then declares his proud embrace of extremism
and tension. There are times when he distinguishes himself and his reason from this of his opponents,
especially in terms of race. Nevertheless, it mostly says that all people are responsible for everyone in
this world, an idea that would not be as effective if the tone of the argument was too fiery and
confrontational.
2. Identify the use of logos in King s letter
3. Identify King s use of ethos in his letter.
Dr. King had access to a series of allusions from various religious and secular traditions, and he made
full use of this knowledge in the Letter. While each allusion serves a specific purpose in the context of
the argument in which it is used, when taken together they emphasize two aspects of their argument.
First, it is his argument that all people are interrelated, and are responsible for each other. Numerous
traditions from which Dr. King snatches hints

What Causes Lady Macbeth To Blame
After he listens to lady Macbeth and commits murder, Macbeth starts seeing wicked dreams and
having self hatred which promotes the unbearable consequences he will be facing before his end.
Early in the play, Macbeth s murder of the king leads to wicked dreams and less sleep which show
weak of a character macbeth really is because he never wanted to kill anyone but his wife forced him
and after he killed, he constantly saw horrifying dreams and could not sleep no more and was just not
able to handle the consequences. After Macbeth killed Banquo, he starts to feel guilty and he tells lady
Macbeth Sleep no more! to all the house. Glamis hath murdered sleep, and therefore Cawdor Shall

Less sleep and a lot of wicked thoughts and dreams. This shows lady Macbeth as being wicked,
untrustable and dreadful because she was the one to fill Macbeth s head with wrong actions and told
him that it will be okay and that no one will find out. After lady Macbeth told Macbeth to kill the king
and he did so, later in the play lady Macbeth started to feel the guilt and was seen walking in her sleep
multiple times in which has been seen by the gentlewoman who said Since his Majesty went into the
field, I have seen her rise from her bed, throw her nightgown upon her, unlock her closet, take forth
paper, fold it, write upon t, read it, afterwards seal it, and again return to bed; yet all this while in a
most fast sleep (5.1.4 9) and after a doctor observed her he said This disease is beyond my practice.
Yet I have known those which have walked in their sleep, who have died holily in their beds (5.2.62
64). In this quote Since his Majesty went into the field, I have seen her rise from her bed, throw her
nightgown upon her, unlock her closet, take forth paper, fold it, write upon t, read it, afterwards seal it,
and again return to bed; yet all this while in a most fast sleep lady Macbeth is being showed as being
concerned about Macbeth and what might happen to him because of her. Additionally, the night when

Archetype Descriptive Writing
There is heavy, grey fog in my eyes. There are shadows in the haze and an occasional flash of light.
Everything is numb as I stumble my way along, chasing after shadows. There is constant susurrus.
The world is static and dull as I move along, going nowhere and feeling nothing. I m used to living in
blissful numbness, so when I trip and fall to my knees, a shock runs through my body at the slight
discomfort. The water droplets of the fog around me become distinguishable in a small radius. It s all
new and unfamiliar, and I don t like it, so I stand back up and continue on my uncharted way. A
throbbing remains in my knees and the water droplets seem a little too close, but I ignore it all and get
back into my rhythm of hazy wandering. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without the light of the flames, the night seems to swallow everything whole. The trees, leaves, and
flowers I enjoyed earlier are dark and invisible now. Though, among the darkness, I see many stars
through the branches of the looming trees. The night brings them out, but also makes them seem so far
away. I continue on, stumbling my way through the dark. There are no signs of anymore fires or lights
near me. The glass does nothing to help. If anything, it enhances the dark, makes the shadows seem
sharper. I m put on edge by all of this, and frequently look at the stars, trying to retain my awe and
wonderment at what the night can bring. I m so busy looking at the stars and avoiding the dark, that I
don t notice the sudden decline until after I fall. The hill is steep and marred with sticks and stones. I
tumble down, unable to stop the descent. Things loom out of the darkness, almost as if reaching to
slow my fall, but only end up leaving a welt on my skin. By the time I hit the bottom my body is numb
and my vision is blurry. I barely realize that it s raining until I look up and see the droplets falling
above me. I lie there, numb and weak, and eventually fall

Cultural Trends In Fashion
Trends in the fashion world are greatly influenced by social cultural changes. Social change deals with
any big change over time in behavior patterns and in cultural values. Fashion and clothing is more
than just what we wear but the way we choose to live our lives which relates back to culture. There are
three key sources in trends for fashion, high culture, pop culture, and low culture. High culture is
mainly about the visual kinds of art. Visual arts can range anywhere from paintings to architecture and
design. A designer is able to take note on a piece of art that inspires him or her to incorporate into their
clothing designs. Pop culture is highly influenced by celebrities who spend most of their everyday
lives in the mainstream. Pop culture influences the way we look. For example, TV shows that dress
the cast very fashionably such as the show, that was popular in the 80 s Dynasty to the 90 s into the
year 2004 the show Sex in the City, everyone wanted to dress like the protagonist in those popular TV
series. Subculture is local street movements such as hip hop and graffiti. Subculture is mainly seen in
surf and skateboard culture from the 70 s up until today.
If culture can influence the paintings we paint and the clothes that we wear, then it certainly does have
an impact on the poems we write. Poetry is an art form in which human language is used for its
aesthetic qualities. Poems are often written based on something a poem has dealt with or has
overcome in their

Health Issues of Indigenous Australians
As health professionals, we must look beyond individual attributes of Indigenous Australians to gain a
greater understanding and a possible explanation of why there are such high rates of ill health issues
such as alcoholism, depression, abuse, shorter life expectancy and higher prevalence of diseases
including diabetes, heart disease and obesity in our indigenous population. Looking at just the
individual aspects and the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal health.
This is why we need to explore in further detail what events could have created such inequities in
Aboriginal health. Other details that we should consider are the historical and cultural factors such as,

Also the population rapidly decreased because of indiscriminate slaughter... and punitive expeditions
(Encyclopaedia of Australia, 1973) As the English population began to increase, Aboriginal people
were moved into missions in 1810, so the population could be manages and they were taught the
European ways so they could be used as low paid labours, border lining slaves (Creative Spirits,
2002). When the Aboriginal people failed to move to Christianity and civilised life, the Europeans
thought it was due to the lack of intellectual ability because they didn t understand the complexity and
holding power of the traditional culture and religion to the Aboriginals (Psychology and Indigenous
Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 77). The separation of Aboriginals from
the community into missions was known as segregation. In the early 20th century, the Indigenous
Australians all throughout the nation were exposed to the protection legislation which in turn, denied
them of their basic human rights as well as the freedom that was demanded by every other Australian.
Aboriginals were increasingly moved of farms where they worked like slaves and put into government
or church controlled reserves where they were expected to die out (Psychology and Indigenous
Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 79). On the Australian census at this time,
Aboriginals were still considered as

Essay On Anne Sexton
Context: Anne Sexton was an American poet born on November 9th, 1928 in Newton, Massachusetts
and raised in Weston. Her family was successful economically wise and Sexton was raised in a middle
class environment; however, Sexton s relationship with her parents were extremely strained and
perhaps abusive; her father was an alcoholic. It was suggested that Sexton may have been sexually
abused by her parents and felt that they were hostile to her. As such, Sexton sought refuge in her close
relationship with Anne Dingley, her maiden great aunt, as an escape from her broken family, which
further lead to Sexton s traumatization after Dingley s mental collapse and subsequent hospitalization.
After the birth of her first child in 1953, Sexton ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in the first stanza of the poem, Sexton invokes the objects that women are classified into,
such as my mouth and my breasts ... [and] the cosmetics and the silks (3 4). Sexton furthers this with
how she was tired of being a woman (1) and tired of the gender things (10). As the poem progresses
into the second stanza, Sexton s dream sequence, the theme of gender roles remains prevalent. The
poem delves into the injustice that women face in a world controlled by man, citing the martyr and
Catholic Saint, Joan of Arc, who was put to death with one of the charges being wearing men s
clothes. In addition, Sexton s will to rid herself of gender is also clear in the third stanza, which she
writes I lost my common gender and my final aspect. / Adam was on the left of me / and Eve was on
the right of me (28 30). This may be interpreted as a metaphor, as Adam was the first male and Eve the
first female human created by God as told by Christians, by placing Sexton between them, it could be
said that Sexton is neither male nor female, but one who is freed from gender. The entire poem and
many of its literary devices resonates strongly with the poet s message; her hate of gender roles and
identities. As such, Sexton effectively sent her central argument to her reader.
Tone Mood:
Consorting With Angels begins with a frustrated and angry tone, with Sexton describing the
stereotypical gender roles that she is forced

Compare And Contrast Middle School And High School
Middle school vs High school 1 Many people endure three years of middle school and four years of
high school. It is an eventful time for children between 11 to 18 years old. During the adolescent years
there are hormonal changes, environmental changes and emotional developmental gains. Middle
school is the beginning of transitioning towards independence under the constant eye of adults. During
high school they are challenged with real world challenges that help them transition into adulthood.
The behaviors of these individuals change as the factors change around them. For every person, the
experience of high school or middle school may be different. Either way, both have the same goal of
wanting the student to succeed and evolve. Even so, the similarities and differences vary. Middle
school and high school are alike in the areas of receiving an education, socializing with others, and
having teachers while different in areas of maturity, difficulty in work, and independence. 2 Middle
school and high school are alike in the aspect that individuals are receiving an education. Both groups
go to learn many different subjects that vary depending on the student. Either way it is to ensure that
each student is gaining an education for future endeavors. Both groups have many teachers that they
encounter each day. That is a prime characteristic of school which truly makes a school function. The
teachers teach, grade, and guide the students to help them create a firm understanding.

Analysis Of Black Mirror By Charlie Brooker Essay
Black Mirror is a British TV show on Netflix created by Charlie Brooker which represent the modern
society with technologies and the side effects in positive and negative ways. Since memory is
malleable and it interprets our memories based on our feeling in the present, technology in Black
Mirror helps to navigate the imperfection of communication, relationship and our memory in the
society. The technology such as the Grain in The Entire History of You episode and the Z eye in White
Christmas episode have interfered human being s life in some aspects. Black Mirror has showed us the
consequences of using technology in our lives. As long humans exist in these lives, consequences will
never go anywhere. It still exists and people cannot deny that because it is the cost of being human,
indeed they cannot separate good and bad. When human have AI implanted in their bodies, their lives
are almost perfect and growth toward fulfillment because they can do everything they want. In Netflix
series Black Mirror The Entire History of You (Season 1, episode 3) people have Grain which is
implanted behind their ear and the function for that is to record everything they do, see, and hear
based on their perspectives; and also allow them to play, show or redo it whenever they want. Liam
and Fiona are two of the people who have grain implanted behind their ears. Liam and Fiona are

Information Security And Network Security
In information security, computer security and network security an Asset is any data, device, or other
component of the environment that supports information related activities. Assets generally include
hardware (servers and switches), software (e.g. mission critical applications and support systems) and
confidential information. Assets should be protected from illicit access, use, disclosure, alteration,
destruction, and/or theft, resulting in loss to the organization. Security assets are quite helpful for large
or small companies and have many different ways of protecting one s information.
It is quite common to find many individuals involved in compromising a company s intellectual
property. Suspects would most likely be a current/former employee, trusted customers, or competitors.
Therefore security assets are major in protecting and securing a company s information. The first step
to securing intellectual Property is management structure. This will guarantee that your Intellectual
Property will run with a few protection measures implemented. The second step is Operational
Security. This will enable a background check on vendors and third parties. Also, this will go over
existing hiring and departure policies for employees. The third and final step to securing intellectual
property is Cyber security. This will put a stop to network intrusion, safeguard mobile device security,
and remote access security. Protecting a company s intellectual property is very important.

United States. It has not always been that way, but we will discuss more about that a little later. As the
reader, you may be wondering, What is an ultra low cost carrier and how is it different than any other
carrier? so I ll begin by answering that question. After that I will then proceed with more in depth
information about Frontier Airline s history, operations, finances, labor, and fleet. In contrast to legacy
carriers like United Airlines, Delta Airlines, or American Airlines, which traditionally provided full

This was partly due to the fact that they had recently purchased Central Airlines of Texas (Lankins,
n.d.). It didn t take long for problems to arise, though. Almost 15 years later, in 1980, pressure from
other airlines caused management of Frontier airlines to request that their own employees forfeit or
reduce items of value, like pay, benefit in order for the airline to stay competitive (Lankins, n.d.).
These cuts are called concessions. These concessions spelled the beginning of the end, because they
were not enough to help the airline recover and in 1985 they were sold to a low cost carrier named
People Express. The doors closed and Frontier Airlines ceased to exist (Fortney, n.d.). The following
year, in 1986 Continental airlines purchased the newly merged People Express (Lankins, n.d.). Let s
fast forward to 1993, as Continental Airlines scaled back its Denver hub operations. (Fortney, n.d.)
Former executives of the first Frontier Airlines saw this as a high potential moment for strategic
advantage and began to develop a business plan. By July 1994, like a phoenix rising from the ashes,
Frontier Airline was restored. They began operations with two planes previously used by Continental.
By 2001, the airline was being featured in Fortune magazine s list of fastest growing companies.

Definition Of Social Rules In Jane Austen s Pride And...
The novel Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, is set in a world with very strict social rules. In her
essay Austen s Blush, Mary Ann O Farrell analyzes the breaking of these rules, or incivility, in the
novel. She refers to public incivility as exposure, where the character s inappropriate actions are
visible by many people. She uses mortification and embarrassment interchangeably as the
uncomfortable feelings experienced by socially aware characters when social rules are broken, and
divides these feelings into two parts, the buildup as transgressions are being made and the release
when the situation is escaped or resolved. Blushing is the physical act that reflects these feelings of
mortification and embarrassment, one of the few socially acceptable actions that reveal a person s true
feelings. O Farrell disagrees with George Henry Lewis criticism that Austen misses [...] many of the
subtle connections between physical and mental organization (O Farrell 127), instead arguing that
Austen uses physical changes to indicate her characters mental states, in particular using blushes as
natural and involuntary signals of embarrassment, vexation, anger, or love (O Farrell 128). O Farrell
argues in her aptly titled Austen s Blush that that the incivility of embarrassment, which blushing
indicates, in Pride and Prejudice, is necessary for the progression of the plot, the connections between
the characters, and the experience of the reader. O Farrell identifies

Reflection Paper On Dance Performance
On December 1, 2017, in the University Theatre at California State University, Dominguez Hills, I
observed the fall dance concert Rise. It was choreographed by Amy Michelle Allen, Marco A,
Carreon, Sarah Cashmore, Jeff Hendrix, Erin Landry, Doris Ressl Acosta, and Kenneth Walker, with
the long cast of dancers. The production was pleasing, and would not have been believable without the
work from production designers, Frederick Depontee and Cheryl Sheldon. Rise is played out in eight
different dance routines, which were Xtra Xtra, Scar Tissue, Hart Broken, Things Are A Stirrin , and
the rest are intermissions such as Female Energy, Women, Exotica, Strength In Numbers, and Makina.
This fall dance concert was filled with joy, darkness, torture, culture, and women s rights, right when
you sit down and observe through all 8 dance performances. It would have been 9 dance routines but
the dancer who was suppose to perform Hart Broken had an injury, which made a putt off.
Nevertheless the show must go on, it starts off with the first and second performance, Xtra Xtra and
Scar Tissue. Revealing that both performances were different themes because Xtra Xtra had the
dancers in radiant colors and seemed to be energetic, whereas the performers in Scar Tissue were
clothed in black attire, such as tutus, dresses, and tights, yet still energetic. This brought to my
attention that the whole dance performances were contrast to each other. Throughout the routines of
the dance concert, the

Zuckerberg strategy was doomed...because it included no systemic assault on poverty, the real enemy

administration dichotomy. It is important, especially when dealing with school reform, that
administration remains objective and core principles of reform are divorced from any values and/or

patronage machines rather than to the students. Likewise, the reform movement was conceived from
Booker and Christie s individual political agendas. For Booker, he lost sight of the goal when he was

Gender Bias Essay
Gender bias, also known as sexism, is a full of attitudes, laws, taboos, preferences, and behaviors that
differentiates and discriminates against either sex. These may be a position of which male dominance
and female subjugation in the modern society. It could also be a form of sexual stereotypes between
men and women, these are commonly experienced in employment versus other positions. A final place
that discrimination is faced is the academic environment, the female to male ratios are not in sync in
certain programs and courses because of this and it is pressuring men and women to not go into
certain fields and do what they love and please. Most advertisements on Television, magazines,
newspapers, online ad s, use a charged sexually image with a female as the star. Women are to be a
pleasure for men, and nothing else. Many people have different opinions on genders and sexuality and
that is okay, but sometimes you just need to keep them to yourselves. I was walking through Walmart
with a friend the other night, and we turned the corner to go down an aisle and they were walking
towards us. As we approached them, they moved out of the way, so we could get through. There were
5 male specimens, around the ages of 20 24, two white, one Hispanic, and two black guys. Most of
them were very tall, both white guys were thin and lean, the Hispanic guy was short and lean, and the
two black guys were tall and thick. All five of the guys dress in upper class clothes such as Nike,
Adidas, Under armor. As I observed these guys, they were in a group of friends. They were walking
according to race, two white guys in the front, and then the Hispanic guy was in the middle, and
following him was the two black guys. They were very respectful when we turned the corner and let
us go through, as we passed them they went back into their formation. Two white guys in the front,
and then the Hispanic in the middle, and the two black guys in the back. I also observed that they were
having separate conversations among themselves. As it appeared to me, it looked like they were just

The Evolution Of Species Extinction
Globally, most of the species (both flora and fauna) are under serious threat from direct and indirect
human activities; while the direct activities such as deforestation leads to species habitat fragmentation
and loss, on the other hand modifies climatic conditions coupled with gas emissions. The synergistic
impact of these human driven activities questions the survivability of organisms in the morphed
climatic environments. At one level fragmented habitats increase intra and inter species competitions,
resulting in decline of population of species, grouping them under rare and threatened category. At
other level, the amplified global temperatures in parallel with low precipitation rates, not only creates
unsuitable external habitat conditions but also impose internal changes in biological clock and
physiological processes of the organisms, in additions to their life history traits (Reynold et al. 2003,
Price and Gittleman, 2007). This kind of changed scenario both externally and internally, brings
incompatibility in the organism to cope with fluctuating climatic conditions, finally making the
species as vulnerable and forcing into the process of extinction.
The process of species extinction accelerated with rapid human activities and in the current scenario,
many species are in the queue of extinction. We are losing our uncounted valuable biodiversity, in a
sense, we still don t have exact idea of how many species are surviving globally, and we are losing
them before we

In this Lab report we will be using Red Cabbage extract as an indicator to determine the pH of
substances. The purpose of this experiment is to see if and how base and acids react. Indicators are

will determine which items we use to determine ph. The pH of a solution indicates its acidity or

Results:
The results of my experiment were as follows the pH of 2 has a pink color and the ph. of 12 had a blue
color. As I go down the chart the pH turned darker as I got to 6 and higher. See the figure 1 for the
changes in the color as you go from a pH of 2 to 12. As I got to 10 it was still a green blue color.

Discussion:
I have found out that the any number below 7 is more acidic such as lemons and bananas. I have found
that in conducting this experiment that cabbage juice was more acidic when added to the Ph. of 6 or
less within the buffer solution. Greater with the more Alkaline. There is more acid which makes the
solution a red to pink color and then it goes to neutral then it go to green than to blue as the level gets

Hurricane Sandy Annotated Bibliography
Annotated Bibliography: Should climate change be a concern because of Hurricane Sandy?
Haddon, Heather. Thanks to Sandy, Surging Interest In Climate Study. Wall Street Journal, 28 Oct.
2015, eastern ed. ProQuest. Accessed 4 Aug. 2017. This article discusses what changes are happening
now with Government spending on trying to improve flood protection from climate change. Haddon
says, States such as New York, California, Oregon and Washington have commissioned research on
how sea level rise can affect their communities, while North Carolina banned the studies from
informing coastal policies in 2012. There isn t an agreement in the U.S. Government yet that more
money needs to be spent on climate change. Surprisingly, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie
believes that climate change is a problem, but he doesn t think that climate change affected the
damage done by Hurricane Sandy (Haddon 1). This was a short article and I was hoping for more
from the title. I might use two parts of this article to describe the amount of changes done to reduce
the effects of climate change since Hurricane Sandy.

The War Called Operation Iraq Freedom
Mainstream media has extensively covered the war called Operation Iraq Freedom where thousands of
our armed forces were killed leaving millions without their mother and father. It has been said that this
was a senseless way that should have never begun; in the same manner, it is a war that many feel was
needed and very necessary. The purpose of my extended is to uncover the facts of this topic that has
been considered off limits and inappropriate especially in the mainstream media. In efforts to uncover
the facts, there are many questions that must be answered; however, in making the attempt to answer

It has been said that the reason for such a war was in fact an effort to protect the interest of certain
political and prominent parties that had vested interest in the oil industries. UNOCAL (Union Oil

late 19th century, all the way through the 20th century, and even into the start of the 21st century. This

Australia And Asia Essay
This essay analyses the Australian China bilateral relationship since 1945 and in particular its political
significance to Australia. Many global factors have influenced this relationship, including the advent
of the Cold War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the collapse of the Soviet bloc European
nations. In addition, internal political changes in Australia and China have both affected and been
affected by the global changes. It will be analysed that Australia s bilateral relationship with China has
always had a sharp political edge but that approaching the new millenium economics and trade

The Fraser government continued this policy direction with China, which was strengthened even
further during the Hawke and Keating years (1983 96). The Howard government has continued this
policy and has chosen to place economic and trade considerations above ideology. Pursuit of a strong
bilateral relationship with China by Australian Labor governments might have been predicted on
political grounds but, increasingly, as the world moves to embrace a global village profile
governments of all political persuasion s are shaping the foreign policies on the basis of national
economic self interest.
In handling bilateral relationships, the Government often claims to have adopted an integrated
approach taking into account the totality of Australian interests. But, a closer analyses of this claim
reveals it would be almost impossible to meet the totality of Australia s interests in any bilateral
relationship and this is especially true of China which has such a different socio political system. This
close relationship continues to raise political questions for Australia to grapple with, such as her
relations with Taiwan, Tibet and Chinese human rights issues. In some instances Australias interests
will be confined mainly to trade and investment; in the more substantial bilateral relationships, the
Government will implement comprehensive strategies

And the country that most of the students choose to go to is america. In my own school, I saw many of

students say that they were leaving their home country and going to the U.S. to pursue higher
education. The juniors would be desirous and show their desire to go abroad to study. The main
reasons that promote going abroad to pursue higher educatio, especially to the U.S, are (1) the
absorptive capacity of American higher education, (2) the quality of American higher education, (3)
the complementarity of Asian demand and American supply and (4) the opportunities provided in

considered one of the world s most influential women was born. Eleanor Roosevelt was born in New

hair, she would warm the heart of every individual she came across. She grew to be five feet and
eleven inches, which to this day makes her the tallest first lady. With regards of being the first lady she

This left Eleanor in a decisive predicament. She offered to divorce him; in her heart she knew that it
would damage his and her new political career. She was also concerned for the well being of her
children. Eleanor said, It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness. In my perspective,
I whole heartedly concur with this quote because she sacrificed herself rather than to sacrifice her
family. She was willing to stay in a marriage that didn t even suit her just because she put others
before herself. Putting all of their differences aside, she still stood by his side as a normal first lady.
This represents her strong quality and character as a powerful woman. Eleanor was admired for her
idealism and good spirits. Many individuals benefited from her warm humanitarianism and deep
concern for the world. Being that she had great work ethic and wise counsel she devoted most of her
time to charity work. In 1902 in New York City, she participated in community service projects all
over the Manhattan Lower East Side. Her passion for learning and teaching went to a settlement home
with needy children. During this time she taught dancing, literature and calisthenics. She visited needy
children in the slums and investigated working conditions in garment factories and department stores.
During World War One, Eleanor worked for the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society and American Red

The Most Valuable Mechanisms Designed During The Late 1800...
Abstract
The Kinetoscope was one most valuable mechanisms designed in the late 1800 s. This remarkable
invention opened doors for the way that visuals and sound are produced in movies and television
today. However, it is unclear who actually gets credit for the Invention. This paper will enlighten you
on the accomplishments of many great inventors. You will be educated on how this device came
about. It will also unravel the mystery behind who should actually get credit for the Kinetoscope.
Introduction A common luxury in America today is television and movies, but have you ever
wondered how visual entertainment on screen began? Since the late 1800 s the way we view things in
cinema has changed profoundly. Living in the 21st Century, in which is the digital revolution, we no
longer have to leave our homes to see a movie or event. How did it all start? Who came up with the
idea? Who built the first camera? How did it have an impact on cinema today? Credit must be given to
an early motion picture device called the Kinetoscope, which set the standard for all cinematic
projections that we have today.
The Idea that Impacted Cinema
Thomas Edison, one of the greatest inventors known to man, came up with an idea to make an
instrument which does for the eye what the Phonograph has done for the ear. The Phonograph records
and reproduces things in motion and that is what Edison wanted for the Kinetoscope. In October 1888
Edison started organizing this invention. He

Essay on Gender and Consistency in The Importance of...
The Importance of Being Earnest is regarded as one of the most successful plays written by Oscar
Wilde, a great 19th century playwright. Oscar Wilde deals with something unique about his
contemporary age in this drama. It addresses Victorian social issues, French theatre, farce, social
drama and melodrama. All these factors influenced the structure of the play in a large scale. This play
is basically a Victorian satirical drama showcasing the social, political, economic and religious
structural changes that affected 18th century England. It was the time when British Empire had
captured most part of the world including Oscar Wilde s homeland, Ireland. The aristocrats of England
had become dominant over the middle and poor class people and ... Show more content on

Wilde has beautifully portrayed the characters of the play and they remain alive in each act of this
drama. However, their sense of purpose and values remain foggy and highly confusing till the end of
the play. When we read this play, we see that the dramatist portrays each character to depict the
hypocrisy of the contemporary Victorian society. Wilde deals with the inconsistency of nature of men
here. None of the male characters are serious in life or earnest in nature. There is lack of moral values
in each character. The characters contradict themselves most of the time. Jack, the protagonist of the
play, throws out all Victorian values even though he represents the model Victorian man and
aristocratic English people. Through his characterization and portrayal of inconsistent characters,
Wilde satirizes upon the English society and the hypocrisy prevalent in the Victorian era.
However, the female characters depicted in the play are much more consistent and seem to follow the
general ideals of marriage and love, as was evident in 18th century England. Gwendolen Fairfax and
Cecily Cardew are in love and they want to get married as marriage seems to provide the essential
social security that was needed by women in the Victorian era. Through the interactions between the
female and male characters, Wilde portrays the inconsistencies of 18th century England.
In this play hypocrisy is exposed by the protagonist, Jack Worthing s character and ironic statements.

  • 2. Similarities Between Hunting And Hunting Hunting and fishing have been around since the beginning of the world. Soon humans would come along and carry on the practice of surviving and thriving this ancient way. Both hunting and fishing are skills that are still used today, but are not used so much as to survive but as a sport. What are the similarities and differences between hunting? Well for those of the readers that have not participated in either events or do engage but have never wondered about this question, hopefully this essay will answer all of your questions about the similarity and differences between hunting and fishing. To be prosperous in both hunting and fishing one must be able to determine the location of the animal you are stalking. While hunting may be easier to track the animal, fish can only move so much because they are stuck in a body of water. Both deer and bass prefer to stick in cover of bushes and fallen trees. Both bass and deer ¨bed during the day; however bass like deer will occasionally move in daylight. Deer can arguably be easier to find because of new technologies like scopes and rifles that can shoot at long ranges, but while bass fishing you are most of the time on a craft which is sitting on top of the water giving you an advantage of being able to see through the it to see the fish swimming. There is also new technology that uses sonar to map the bottom of the body of water and it can track fish movement. Both hunting and fishing require one to be able to read and ... • 3. Martin Luther King Letter From Birmingham Jail Analysis Questions for Dr. Martin Luther King s Letter From Birmingham Jail Please upload your responses to the D2L dropbox under Assignments 1. What do you think King s central claim (argument) is in this letter? The letter here seems to serve several purposes. First, it is consistent with his ultimate goal of justifying his case as in the name of justice. He does not want to confirm the deeply selected fear of his audience that the black movement is an extremist set that will engender violence. Thus, by using restraint, he receives a sympathetic hearing, to which he then declares his proud embrace of extremism and tension. There are times when he distinguishes himself and his reason from this of his opponents, especially in terms of race. Nevertheless, it mostly says that all people are responsible for everyone in this world, an idea that would not be as effective if the tone of the argument was too fiery and confrontational. 2. Identify the use of logos in King s letter 3. Identify King s use of ethos in his letter. Dr. King had access to a series of allusions from various religious and secular traditions, and he made full use of this knowledge in the Letter. While each allusion serves a specific purpose in the context of the argument in which it is used, when taken together they emphasize two aspects of their argument. First, it is his argument that all people are interrelated, and are responsible for each other. Numerous traditions from which Dr. King snatches hints ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This shows lady Macbeth as being wicked, untrustable and dreadful because she was the one to fill Macbeth s head with wrong actions and told him that it will be okay and that no one will find out. After lady Macbeth told Macbeth to kill the king and he did so, later in the play lady Macbeth started to feel the guilt and was seen walking in her sleep multiple times in which has been seen by the gentlewoman who said Since his Majesty went into the field, I have seen her rise from her bed, throw her nightgown upon her, unlock her closet, take forth paper, fold it, write upon t, read it, afterwards seal it, and again return to bed; yet all this while in a most fast sleep (5.1.4 9) and after a doctor observed her he said This disease is beyond my practice. Yet I have known those which have walked in their sleep, who have died holily in their beds (5.2.62 64). In this quote Since his Majesty went into the field, I have seen her rise from her bed, throw her nightgown upon her, unlock her closet, take forth paper, fold it, write upon t, read it, afterwards seal it, and again return to bed; yet all this while in a most fast sleep lady Macbeth is being showed as being concerned about Macbeth and what might happen to him because of her. • 5. Archetype Descriptive Writing There is heavy, grey fog in my eyes. There are shadows in the haze and an occasional flash of light. Everything is numb as I stumble my way along, chasing after shadows. There is constant susurrus. The world is static and dull as I move along, going nowhere and feeling nothing. I m used to living in blissful numbness, so when I trip and fall to my knees, a shock runs through my body at the slight discomfort. The water droplets of the fog around me become distinguishable in a small radius. It s all new and unfamiliar, and I don t like it, so I stand back up and continue on my uncharted way. A throbbing remains in my knees and the water droplets seem a little too close, but I ignore it all and get back into my rhythm of hazy wandering. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without the light of the flames, the night seems to swallow everything whole. The trees, leaves, and flowers I enjoyed earlier are dark and invisible now. Though, among the darkness, I see many stars through the branches of the looming trees. The night brings them out, but also makes them seem so far away. I continue on, stumbling my way through the dark. There are no signs of anymore fires or lights near me. The glass does nothing to help. If anything, it enhances the dark, makes the shadows seem sharper. I m put on edge by all of this, and frequently look at the stars, trying to retain my awe and wonderment at what the night can bring. I m so busy looking at the stars and avoiding the dark, that I don t notice the sudden decline until after I fall. The hill is steep and marred with sticks and stones. I tumble down, unable to stop the descent. Things loom out of the darkness, almost as if reaching to slow my fall, but only end up leaving a welt on my skin. By the time I hit the bottom my body is numb and my vision is blurry. I barely realize that it s raining until I look up and see the droplets falling above me. • 6. Cultural Trends In Fashion Trends in the fashion world are greatly influenced by social cultural changes. Social change deals with any big change over time in behavior patterns and in cultural values. Fashion and clothing is more than just what we wear but the way we choose to live our lives which relates back to culture. There are three key sources in trends for fashion, high culture, pop culture, and low culture. High culture is mainly about the visual kinds of art. Visual arts can range anywhere from paintings to architecture and design. A designer is able to take note on a piece of art that inspires him or her to incorporate into their clothing designs. Pop culture is highly influenced by celebrities who spend most of their everyday lives in the mainstream. Pop culture influences the way we look. For example, TV shows that dress the cast very fashionably such as the show, that was popular in the 80 s Dynasty to the 90 s into the year 2004 the show Sex in the City, everyone wanted to dress like the protagonist in those popular TV series. Subculture is local street movements such as hip hop and graffiti. Subculture is mainly seen in surf and skateboard culture from the 70 s up until today. If culture can influence the paintings we paint and the clothes that we wear, then it certainly does have an impact on the poems we write. Health Issues of Indigenous Australians As health professionals, we must look beyond individual attributes of Indigenous Australians to gain a greater understanding and a possible explanation of why there are such high rates of ill health issues such as alcoholism, depression, abuse, shorter life expectancy and higher prevalence of diseases including diabetes, heart disease and obesity in our indigenous population. Looking at just the individual aspects and the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal health. Also the population rapidly decreased because of indiscriminate slaughter... and punitive expeditions (Encyclopaedia of Australia, 1973) As the English population began to increase, Aboriginal people were moved into missions in 1810, so the population could be manages and they were taught the European ways so they could be used as low paid labours, border lining slaves (Creative Spirits, 2002). When the Aboriginal people failed to move to Christianity and civilised life, the Europeans thought it was due to the lack of intellectual ability because they didn t understand the complexity and holding power of the traditional culture and religion to the Aboriginals (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 77). The separation of Aboriginals from the community into missions was known as segregation. In the early 20th century, the Indigenous Australians all throughout the nation were exposed to the protection legislation which in turn, denied them of their basic human rights as well as the freedom that was demanded by every other Australian. Aboriginals were increasingly moved of farms where they worked like slaves and put into government or church controlled reserves where they were expected to die out (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009, pp. 79). • 8. Essay On Anne Sexton Context: Anne Sexton was an American poet born on November 9th, 1928 in Newton, Massachusetts and raised in Weston. Her family was successful economically wise and Sexton was raised in a middle class environment; however, Sexton s relationship with her parents were extremely strained and perhaps abusive; her father was an alcoholic. It was suggested that Sexton may have been sexually abused by her parents and felt that they were hostile to her. As such, Sexton sought refuge in her close relationship with Anne Dingley, her maiden great aunt, as an escape from her broken family, which further lead to Sexton s traumatization after Dingley s mental collapse and subsequent hospitalization. For example, in the first stanza of the poem, Sexton invokes the objects that women are classified into, such as my mouth and my breasts ... [and] the cosmetics and the silks (3 4). Sexton furthers this with how she was tired of being a woman (1) and tired of the gender things (10). As the poem progresses into the second stanza, Sexton s dream sequence, the theme of gender roles remains prevalent. The poem delves into the injustice that women face in a world controlled by man, citing the martyr and Catholic Saint, Joan of Arc, who was put to death with one of the charges being wearing men s clothes. In addition, Sexton s will to rid herself of gender is also clear in the third stanza, which she writes I lost my common gender and my final aspect. / Adam was on the left of me / and Eve was on the right of me (28 30). This may be interpreted as a metaphor, as Adam was the first male and Eve the first female human created by God as told by Christians, by placing Sexton between them, it could be said that Sexton is neither male nor female, but one who is freed from gender. The entire poem and many of its literary devices resonates strongly with the poet s message; her hate of gender roles and identities. As such, Sexton effectively sent her central argument to her reader. Tone Mood: Consorting With Angels begins with a frustrated and angry tone, with Sexton describing the stereotypical gender roles that she is forced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It has not always been that way, but we will discuss more about that a little later. As the reader, you may be wondering, What is an ultra low cost carrier and how is it different than any other carrier? so I ll begin by answering that question. After that I will then proceed with more in depth information about Frontier Airline s history, operations, finances, labor, and fleet. In contrast to legacy carriers like United Airlines, Delta Airlines, or American Airlines, which traditionally provided full service to their consumers, the low cost carrier (LLC) is considered a budget airline. It didn t take long for problems to arise, though. Almost 15 years later, in 1980, pressure from other airlines caused management of Frontier airlines to request that their own employees forfeit or reduce items of value, like pay, benefit in order for the airline to stay competitive (Lankins, n.d.). These cuts are called concessions. These concessions spelled the beginning of the end, because they were not enough to help the airline recover and in 1985 they were sold to a low cost carrier named People Express. The doors closed and Frontier Airlines ceased to exist (Fortney, n.d.). The following year, in 1986 Continental airlines purchased the newly merged People Express (Lankins, n.d.). Let s fast forward to 1993, as Continental Airlines scaled back its Denver hub operations. (Fortney, n.d.) • 14. Definition Of Social Rules In Jane Austen s Pride And... The novel Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, is set in a world with very strict social rules. In her essay Austen s Blush, Mary Ann O Farrell analyzes the breaking of these rules, or incivility, in the novel. She refers to public incivility as exposure, where the character s inappropriate actions are visible by many people. She uses mortification and embarrassment interchangeably as the uncomfortable feelings experienced by socially aware characters when social rules are broken, and divides these feelings into two parts, the buildup as transgressions are being made and the release when the situation is escaped or resolved. Blushing is the physical act that reflects these feelings of mortification and embarrassment, one of the few socially acceptable actions that reveal a person s true feelings. O Farrell disagrees with George Henry Lewis criticism that Austen misses [...] many of the subtle connections between physical and mental organization (O Farrell 127), instead arguing that Austen uses physical changes to indicate her characters mental states, in particular using blushes as natural and involuntary signals of embarrassment, vexation, anger, or love (O Farrell 128). O Farrell argues in her aptly titled Austen s Blush that that the incivility of embarrassment, which blushing indicates, in Pride and Prejudice, is necessary for the progression of the plot, the connections between the characters, and the experience of the reader. • 15. Reflection Paper On Dance Performance On December 1, 2017, in the University Theatre at California State University, Dominguez Hills, I observed the fall dance concert Rise. It was choreographed by Amy Michelle Allen, Marco A, Carreon, Sarah Cashmore, Jeff Hendrix, Erin Landry, Doris Ressl Acosta, and Kenneth Walker, with the long cast of dancers. The production was pleasing, and would not have been believable without the work from production designers, Frederick Depontee and Cheryl Sheldon. Rise is played out in eight different dance routines, which were Xtra Xtra, Scar Tissue, Hart Broken, Things Are A Stirrin , and the rest are intermissions such as Female Energy, Women, Exotica, Strength In Numbers, and Makina. This fall dance concert was filled with joy, darkness, torture, culture, and women s rights, right when you sit down and observe through all 8 dance performances. It would have been 9 dance routines but the dancer who was suppose to perform Hart Broken had an injury, which made a putt off. Nevertheless the show must go on, it starts off with the first and second performance, Xtra Xtra and Scar Tissue. Revealing that both performances were different themes because Xtra Xtra had the dancers in radiant colors and seemed to be energetic, whereas the performers in Scar Tissue were clothed in black attire, such as tutus, dresses, and tights, yet still energetic. This brought to my attention that the whole dance performances were contrast to each other. Throughout the routines of the dance concert, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lastly, a core element of the public sector is the politics administration dichotomy. It is important, especially when dealing with school reform, that administration remains objective and core principles of reform are divorced from any values and/or political influence. More specifically, in Newark, school districts were often indebted to political patronage machines rather than to the students. Likewise, the reform movement was conceived from Booker and Christie s individual political agendas. For Booker, he lost sight of the goal when he was elected U.S. Senator, and, for Christie, it was when he began is presidential campaign. These may be a position of which male dominance and female subjugation in the modern society. It could also be a form of sexual stereotypes between men and women, these are commonly experienced in employment versus other positions. A final place that discrimination is faced is the academic environment, the female to male ratios are not in sync in certain programs and courses because of this and it is pressuring men and women to not go into certain fields and do what they love and please. Most advertisements on Television, magazines, newspapers, online ad s, use a charged sexually image with a female as the star. Women are to be a pleasure for men, and nothing else. Many people have different opinions on genders and sexuality and that is okay, but sometimes you just need to keep them to yourselves. I was walking through Walmart with a friend the other night, and we turned the corner to go down an aisle and they were walking towards us. As we approached them, they moved out of the way, so we could get through. There were 5 male specimens, around the ages of 20 24, two white, one Hispanic, and two black guys. Most of them were very tall, both white guys were thin and lean, the Hispanic guy was short and lean, and the two black guys were tall and thick. All five of the guys dress in upper class clothes such as Nike, Adidas, Under armor. As I observed these guys, they were in a group of friends. They were walking according to race, two white guys in the front, and then the Hispanic guy was in the middle, and following him was the two black guys. • 18. The Evolution Of Species Extinction Globally, most of the species (both flora and fauna) are under serious threat from direct and indirect human activities; while the direct activities such as deforestation leads to species habitat fragmentation and loss, on the other hand modifies climatic conditions coupled with gas emissions. The synergistic impact of these human driven activities questions the survivability of organisms in the morphed climatic environments. At one level fragmented habitats increase intra and inter species competitions, resulting in decline of population of species, grouping them under rare and threatened category. At other level, the amplified global temperatures in parallel with low precipitation rates, not only creates unsuitable external habitat conditions but also impose internal changes in biological clock and physiological processes of the organisms, in additions to their life history traits (Reynold et al. 2003, Price and Gittleman, 2007). This kind of changed scenario both externally and internally, brings incompatibility in the organism to cope with fluctuating climatic conditions, finally making the species as vulnerable and forcing into the process of extinction. The process of species extinction accelerated with rapid human activities and in the current scenario, many species are in the queue of extinction. We are losing our uncounted valuable biodiversity, in a sense, we still don t have exact idea of how many species are surviving globally, and we are losing them before we ... Introduction A common luxury in America today is television and movies, but have you ever wondered how visual entertainment on screen began? Since the late 1800 s the way we view things in cinema has changed profoundly. Living in the 21st Century, in which is the digital revolution, we no longer have to leave our homes to see a movie or event. How did it all start? Who came up with the idea? Who built the first camera? How did it have an impact on cinema today? Credit must be given to an early motion picture device called the Kinetoscope, which set the standard for all cinematic projections that we have today. The Idea that Impacted Cinema Thomas Edison, one of the greatest inventors known to man, came up with an idea to make an instrument which does for the eye what the Phonograph has done for the ear. All these factors influenced the structure of the play in a large scale. This play is basically a Victorian satirical drama showcasing the social, political, economic and religious structural changes that affected 18th century England. None of the male characters are serious in life or earnest in nature. There is lack of moral values in each character. The characters contradict themselves most of the time. Jack, the protagonist of the play, throws out all Victorian values even though he represents the model Victorian man and aristocratic English people. Through his characterization and portrayal of inconsistent characters, Wilde satirizes upon the English society and the hypocrisy prevalent in the Victorian era. However, the female characters depicted in the play are much more consistent and seem to follow the general ideals of marriage and love, as was evident in 18th century England. Gwendolen Fairfax and Cecily Cardew are in love and they want to get married as marriage seems to provide the essential social security that was needed by women in the Victorian era.
