Among the multiple definitions of success, success to me is the .docxnettletondevon
Among the multiple definitions of success, success to me is the accomplishment and achievement of my goals. Having a learning disability, I have been faced with various challenges in my educational path right from high school. Despite it all, I have now managed to enroll to a college where I pursue my most enjoyable and favorite course in graphics and web design. Being able to reach this stage is so far a success to me. To add on this, success in college can be realized through the achievement of high grades in all my markets. Once this has been accomplished, higher chances of landing a good job after college are created. Before then, success will be marked when I graduate from college with high marks to land a good job.
Apart from educational achievement, success can be realized through the use of my creativity to come up with original and imaginative designs. In addition to this, success to me is to master the skills and knowledge in web application development and to be conversant with the different technologies used in graphics and web design. In this manner, ability is gained in the creation of graphics and web designs that are attractive and compelling to an audience. With time, I can create my company that offers web design and graphic related services to the market. Even though can be a bit challenging to implement at first, sharpening my web designs can provide me with a large followers. Conversely, success is realized in the discovery of other activities I am passionate about apart from web design.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

8. Introduction
I am wanting to go to York St John University to study the Management and Entrepreneurship BA (Hons) course or
the Graphic Design BA (Hons) course as they are my main interests. I want to go to university to be able to learn in
more detail about these subjects as I haven’t been able to learn much in secondary school for these subjects. These
subjects are my main interests for my future jobs so university will be another great building block for that.
9. Academic History
In my GCSE courses, I took Design Technology which I really liked as that was the subject with the most creative side
to it. Doing Design Technology helped me to prepare for my college course as I hadn’t done any course work before,
which ended up being my strongest aspect at school. Being able to do course work at college meant I was able to do
the Creative Media course which expanded my understanding of graphic designs. Doing my college course has
meant I am able to learn many skills across a range of software such as Photoshop which has pushed me to look at
the Graphic Design course at university as I have started to learn the basics. Before seeing the creative media
course, I had wanted to do the business vocational course as I have wanted to create my own businesses for years. I
decided to do the creative media course as I wanted to do more creative work and then look into business for
university or find a job in business after college.
10. Current Study
I am studying the Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology – Level 3 course at York college. I
have filmed and edited a music video, created a film idea assisted by 2 pixel art games and some prints and I have
created a website with a range of photos supported by a video advert and some poster designs. I have learnt how to
use a range of software when creating these media pieces such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Wix.com. Learning
these software has developed my skills and has enabled me to create higher quality products at a quicker speed
than before I started the course. To support these projects, I have created detail research, planning and evaluation
to help me learn and understand what I can do to improve in my next projects.
Studying this course has helped me to expand my knowledge on graphic design as I want to specialise in graphic
design in my second year of the course. This will help me to understand the basics of the graphic design course and
it will help as I will have a lots of knowledge about creating digital prints. This course has also helped me to
understand the media side of a business which will help me in the Management and Entrepreneurship course when
I create my own business ideas.
11. The Future
In the future, I have always wanted to create my own business and go into property development along side them.
Doing the Management and Entrepreneurship course will help me to be able to create a strong, functional and
stable business that will expand to its full potential as I will be trained in running any business. This course will also
be useful as I could work my way up a company and become a manger as I will be able to use my knowledge from
this course to manage that company.
My other idea for a future job is a graphic designer as I like the still image side of my course that I am doing. The
Graphic Design course at university will be the best way to develop and expand my skills as a graphic designer. This
will mean I can become a graphic designer for a company or become a freelance graphic designer.
12. Outside College
For my work experience, I was able to shadow a manager at the restaurant I use to work out which showed me
some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that I didn’t know about before. I was able to learn about how the business
runs and what is needed so the business runs smoothly. My work experience will help me for the Management and
Entrepreneurship course as I have had some experience already.
I have had a few café jobs which has helped with many skills and it has helped me to gain a better understand about
the business industry as people do things different ways to others. This helps as I will be able to incorporate the best
sections from each business into my own as I will learn from their mistakes.
My favourite sports that I play are tennis and netball which means I play as a team but also individually. This has
become useful in my academic work as I am able to create high quality work by myself or whilst working with
others. This skill makes me a strong candidate for both courses as I will be able to produce strong work as an
individual or as a team. For the Management and Entrepreneurship course, this skills is very important as in the
business industry, you will have to make decisions by yourself but also with others.
13. Conclusion
I would like to go to university as I will be able to learn in more detail about a more specific subject instead of
learning about a range of things like GCSEs. Being able to focus on one subject will mean that I can develop my skills
in that industry and be able to learn everything I can. Going to university will enable me to ask questions when I
need and to get feedback from the people who understand the topic the most which is the way I learn best. I will be
a great candidate for both courses as I am organised, hard-working and eager to learn as much as I can.
