of jail in the history of the handicapped society. His plan to overthrow the government fails as he is
clever, psychotic, and arrogant. Throughout the short story, Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.,
Harrison tries to take over the government, in the end he dies and the government never changes.

So, Harrison picks them up and shakes them vigorously. I am the emperor, not only is Harrison

story Harrison says, I am a greater ruler than any man who ever lived, relating to that he thinks he is
the finest human being in history. Also, he commanded the musicians to play music so he could dance

Social Media And Social Isolationism
There is a reason that AA meetings and other addiction recovery programs are face to face and not
virtual. This is because human beings are innately social and therefore, can perform actions for the
betterment of themselves and others. Without this face to face contact that social media encourages,
people, like Timothy, find themselves being swallowed up by the effects social isolationism has on
one s physical and physiological well being, however as we will see later on, social media can be
extremely beneficial in helping those with social isolationism. The dangers The effects of social
isolationism can be devastating both physically and psychologically. In the physical aspect, people
who suffer from social isolationism find themselves feeling like they have less energy, and vitality in
life. They simply don t feel up to the tasks at hand and are tired all the time. Social isolationism can
also affect how many times we get sick and how our bodies heal. For example, those who suffer from
this find that when they are injured or sick, that their bodies take considerably longer to recover and to
feel normal as well as they find themselves getting sick or injured more often than others. Moreover,
there is also a greater likelihood of chronic illness such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Life
spans can be shortened considerably and the general thoughts and feeling about life are negative and
unhappy. Social isolationism has also been linked to at the other end of the

Beyond Happiness And Unhappiness Summary
In Steven Donoso s essay Beyond Happiness and Unhappiness, Ekhart Tolle makes his views
concerning how individuals attempt to establish and define their personality clear. He constantly
emphasizes the points that life and Now are one (6) and that we live in a world of mental abstraction,
conceptualization, and image making a world of thought (6). Essentially, what Tolle states is that one
usually do not have much say in who they are or who they are becoming, people are merely
conditioned by external forces such as family and the past, society, technology, and religion to think
the way they do and unless they can see the conditioning in themselves they will be unable to get free
of it. According to Tolle, one of the biggest influences that help to define who we are is our family. He
states that from the moment a parent tells their child their name people s sense of identity... gets bound
up with their mental concepts and mental images of I and me (6). In saying this, he is basically saying
that we are conditioned as soon as we can identify ourselves with our name because at this point, we
have already begun to label ourselves. Along with this, Tolle also explains that as humans we tend to
live in the past and in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We are surrounded by technology and new inventions every day. At first glance, new inventions may
seem to be a positive thing, however, as Tolle says, we eventually see how destructive new inventions
can become. His example of this is World War 1, he says that technology and science multiplied the
effects of human madness a thousand times (7) he then goes to say that we had to turn our faces away
(7). By saying this, Tolle reinforces the idea that we can destroy the planet without realizing what we
re doing. The First World War was approached through the conceptualizing mind (7) thus it was
reduced and because of this we were able to cause so much

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Personal Goals
Personal goals setting allow students to decide what they want to achieve, and then step by step move
towards the achievement of these goals (University of Hull, 2016). Furthermore, achieving these goals
provide student the confidence to strive for higher and more difficult goals in long term (University of
New Hampshire, 2016).
A detail goal setting plan has been prepared in Table 3.

This allow us to further develop our strength and help overcoming the weaknesses. This personal
improvement plan should be focusing on building up personal social skills, by meeting new people
other than those from the institution, building up network, and this will help to prepare myself into the
working environment in the future.
Secondly, in order to achieve the goal, consistency of dedication is necessary. The curiosity and
dedication which part of the strength will help to create interest on learning, but this will not guarantee
first class result. There are still more ability to develop, and personal tutor s and lecturers advice will
be valuable to help in achieving the goal.
On the other hand, poor in time management and difficulty in self motivation may be the greatest
constraint to achieve all the goals. Probably a few incomplete goals in the past that makes me lack of
confident in achieving goals. To overcome this, smaller scale goals will be set consistently and
achieving it one by one, allow myself to get excited to complete these goals and go for a bigger one.
On the other hand, breaking down the bigger goals into smaller one will also

Out Of State Tuition
Out of state tuition shouldn t limit people who seek a better education. When looking for collages to
go to people tend to stay in state because the cost is cheaper. What is the actual tax dollars that go to
the in state students? Schools collage shouldn t be limited to just your state based on cost but it should
be something you chose based on how good the school is. To fix this problem you could either have a
universal tax that gives money to all schools in America this way schools have to give everyone who
wants to go to their school pay the same cost. The other idea I have to fix this problem is to use the
money the schools get already and have everyone take a cut this would increase instate tuition but also
eliminate out of state tuition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As we ve seen there are schools that do so but not too many are willing to follow that. Another answer
to this problem is scholarships and grants. But not all of us are the next Einstein or Coble Bryant. And
for those individuals there are options for them. But for us the few that are trying to strive for
improvement for those that have yet to prove the worth in this world can there more scholarships that
can be won by us students who are not the best of the best but want to learn. Cheaper tuition, more
school scholarships, easier scholarships, and my personal favorite grants are ways we can make
education more affordable to the average college student. I just wish that we dint live in a world where
just the clearly successful make it easy. but for those like us who have to pay full price it hurts, but
hopefully collages will eventually give up on go out of their way to help stunts go to their schools

The Generation Of A Generation
Millennials is the generation of people who were born between the years of 1982 and 2000. The
millennial generation consists of roughly seventy six million people which is the largest generation
yet. What sets millennials apart from other generations, is that they are the first generation to be raised
with technology. Most notably, the Millennials treat technology as their sixth sense . It is a significant
characteristic and skill set that distinguishes them from members of other generations (Alexander
Sysko 127). The skill of having technology be our sixth sense has helped millennials immensely when
it comes to getting jobs. Growing up in the first generation with technology does have its downside.
Unfortunately, growing up with technology has also caused millennials to be one of the laziest
generation yet. The invention of the television, and video games like nintendo, xbox, and playstation
have caused a lot of the millennial generation to be incredibly lazy. It is not just the technology that
has made the millennial generation lazy, it is also how they were raised. The millennials were raised in
the trophy era, where no matter what someone does whether it be good or bad, they will always get
praised. The trophy era has affected millennials everywhere even when they grow up. For example, in
the workplace millennials always expect to get praised for finishing their job no matter if they did well
or not. Millennials are singled out from other generations in the

has made it possible to communicate with people throughout the world with little effort. The internet
led to social networks, which is one of the largest means of connecting and interacting with others.
Cell phones have made it possible to communicate with people wherever we may be. Social

This shows that more people are accepting online dating as a valid alternative to dating offline. Smith
and Duggan also report that 5% of Americans who are currently married or in a long term partnership
met their partner somewhere online, and among those who have been together for ten years or less,
11% met online . This provides evidence that relationships that start on the internet can be as serious
as those made offline. Social networks are new platforms that people use to communicate to each
other. These social networking sites have had a large jump on membership over the years. In 2005 the
amount of internet users that used social networks sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram was
roughly 8% compared to 73% in 2013 according to the Pew Internet Project. This jump was mainly
because people were using social networking to keep contact with people from their past as well as
speaking with new people. Social networks continue growing because of the variety of ways they
allow people to express themselves. Instagram, which was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike
Krieger in 2010, allows people to post pictures of themselves for others to see, while Twitter, founded
in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass, lets people send short messages in
140 or less characters. These differences are the main reason people flock to multiple different social
networking sites. One of the major attractions of social networks is

F1 Racing
Formula racing is a term that refers to various forms of open wheeled single seater motorsport. Its
origin lies in the nomenclature that was adopted by theFIA for all of its post World War II single seater
regulations, or formulae. The best known of these formulæ are Formula One, Formula Two, and
Formula Three. Common usage of formula racing encompasses other single seater series, including
the GP2 Series, which replaced Formula 3000 (which had itself been the effective replacement for
Formula Two).
Categories such as Formula Three and GP2 are described as feeder formulæ, which refers to their
position below Formula One on the career ladder of single seater motor racing. There are two primary
forms of racing formula: the open formula ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A Qualifying session is held after the last free practice session. This session determines the starting
order for the race.[43][44]
[edit]Qualifying
A typical pitwall control centre, from which the team managers and strategists communicate with their
drivers and engineers over the course of a testing session or a race weekend.
For much of the sport s history, qualifying sessions differed little from practice sessions; drivers would
have one or more entire sessions in which to attempt to set their fastest time, sometimes within a
limited number of attempts, with the grid order determined by each driver s best single lap, fastest (on
pole position) to slowest. Grids were limited to the fastest 26 cars and drivers had to lap within 107%
of the pole sitter s time to qualify for the race; the 107% rule (as it is commonly known) was re
introduced for 2011. Other formats have included Friday pre qualifying, and sessions in which each
driver was allowed only one qualifying lap, run separately in a predetermined order.
The current qualifying system was adopted for the 2006 season. Known as knock out qualifying, it is
split into three periods (or rounds). In each period, drivers run qualifying laps to attempt to advance to
the next period, running as many laps as they wish, with the slowest drivers being knocked out at the
end of the period and their grid positions set, based on their

Summary Of The Guitarist By Pablo Picasso
While visiting the Dallas Museum of art I saw many pieces of art and many different names of the
artist. Some of the artist I recognized and even more that I didn t. One artwork that I found very
extraordinary was The Guitarist by Pablo Picasso 1965. It s a unique oil on canvas painting that has
dimensions overall of 76 x 38 3/16 in. (1 m 93.04 cm x 96.98 cm). The Guitarist is located under
European Art 20th Century on the 2nd level. It is apart of The Karl and Esther Hoblitzelle Collection
and was gifted by the Hoblitzelle Foundation. This fine art has many remarkable qualities to be
discussed, more than just it being created by Picasso. Such as him almost always making artwork with
an intent for the viewers to interpret the deeper meaning. He I able to do this by incorporating
elements of art and principles of art in order for us to decipher the message. In this formal essay, we
will discuss how he used those elements and principle in The Guitarist, along with biographical and
contextual evidence for further understanding.
Pablo Picasso is well known for creating paintings that are considered to be abstract. He distances the
images he draws from anything of the natural world. The Guitarist is no stranger to this concept. He s
able to create this abstract art, by again, using elements of art; starting with his unique use of lines. In
this particular artwork, he uses contour lines; he draws an object as though the drawing tool he is
using is moving only along all the

Comparing Buddha And Ashoka, Pillar Edicts
We are provided an insight to Buddha and Ashoka through Siddhartha s Enlightenment, The Buddha s
First Sermon at Benares and Ashoka, Pillar Edicts . Though it seems that the edicts were more useful
as a social contract, rather than a path to enlightenment, the influence of Buddhism is unmistakable.
The Buddha would agree with Ashoka s policies and beliefs because both are ways one can use to
reach further self enlightenment and continue further on the path to Nirvana. Bearing his edicts, which
provided a framework like the teachings of Buddha, the pillars cover moral, religious and social ideas
to help elevate his people to a better life. I have started to have Dhamma edicts written for the welfare

Psychological Anxieties in English Literature Essay
Introduction TheAge of Christopher Marlowe and the Age of D.H.Lawrence diverge in their socio
political cultural literary background but the presence of psychological anxieties in all ages is
indisputable in the history of mankind, now and then. The characters and their portrayal of their
mental pang due to some peculiarity in their thought process depicted in the English literature were
immensely appreciated by the public. In renaissance period the hero s in Gorboduc, The Spanish

Renaissance men increased his thirst for thinking about future and his own existence precarious or life

despondency and angst.
The Age of D.H.Lawrence Sons and Lovers reflects the features of modern novel which is realistic in

strong undercurrent of realism and romanticism is usually on the surface or is only a mask. The most
of the modern novel represent the complexities of life. It has stream of consciousness and greatly
influenced by Freudian psychology whereby not the perceptible situation of the characters is studied

also studied on the psychoanalytical plane. The typical modern novel depicts life as it is without

Leif Enger’s Peace Like a River Essay
Leif Enger s Peace Like a River
Life can be viewed as a battle field, a constant fight between good and evil. In Leif Enger s Peace Like
a River, this scenario was well depicted. In the novel, there was a constant fight taking place between
the good and evil characters, and though based around family, love, and brotherhood, the novel mainly
focused on the conflict between these characters.
This student felt that it was fair to classify the Lands along with Roxanna Cowley, The Shultzs and Dr.

After the two murders Superintendent Holgren began to treat Jeremiah differently, as he allowed his
opinion to determine whether or not Jeremiah deserved the job. Holgren made work even more
difficult and disagreed with everything that Jeremiah did. Jeremiah, being the calm person that he was,
never retaliated with negative words. He allowed Holgren to mistreat him, even in front of the staff
and students in the school. Holgren finally resorted to firing Jeremiah in front of everyone, but
Jeremiah simply touched his face and walked away.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing (Budha).
Jeremiah did nothing but simply left things in God s hands. He allowed Holgren to make a fool out of
himself and surprisingly, he healed Holgren s face from those unsightly sores.
Once again good triumphed over evil. This student felt that Jeremiah maintained his composure and
acted just as he should.
The best way to deal with situations is to walk away and Jeremiah proved to have such discipline.
The Lands faced a lot of negativity from persons who were once considered family friends. It must

The Tesla Model Of Electric Cars Essay
Over 325,000 reservations have been placed for the upcoming release of the Tesla Model 3. Those
waiting for their new luxury Tesla, however, will need to patiently wait until 2019 for their electric
cars.
There is fantastic news when it comes to the variety of electric cars though. There are some seriously
compelling electric cars currently on the market that you can get behind the wheel of. There are even
some new models to be launched onto roadways later this year as well.
Another bonus for electric car fans is that the three year wait period is just long enough to lease a new
vehicle while waiting in vain. The wealth of options you can consider in regards to the $35,000 Model
3 opening price is very encouraging. Especially if you re wetting your taste buds for electric cars with
multiple companies throwing their green thumb into the mix.
It will be hard to compete with the Tesla Model S and Model 3 though. The Model S is designed with
safety, luxury, and hair blowing exhilaration in mind. The Tesla all electric powertrain that will bring
you from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds is pretty mind blowing. The Tesla Model S also comes with an
autopilot feature.
The Model S 70 has an MSRP price tag of $71,200 and the AWD 70D is $76,200. This is a far cry
from the value you get with the Ford Focus Electric and Nissan Leaf. Even the BMW 330e and i3 are
less expensive.

Austria-Hungary s Ultimatum In 1914 Essay
3. Why was Germany s colonial empire so much smaller than Britain s?
Britain has the largest colonial empire, with colonies and dominions all over the worlds. Germany s

Summary Of The Adventures Of Huck Finn
In The Adventures of Huck Finn, written by Samuel Clemens, Huck Finn learns several important
lessons throughout his adventure. He learns that not everything is right, even if others believe it is. A
very big lesson that Huck learns is that in order to help someone else he might have to give up
something he wants. He also learns that taking from innocent people is wrong. Huck learns that no
matter what, friends will always be there for you. Each one of Huck s adventures comes with a lesson
that helps him mature and grow into the boy he is at the conclusion of the story. Huck s first adventure
is deciding to help Jim escape to the North to become a free man. Jim and Huck overcome numerous
obstacles on their journey to freedom. While on the raft, floating down the river, Jim and Huck have
multiple serious conversations. One of these conversations is about slavery. Huck is defending white
people by saying that blacks have always been slaves and that is just how it is going to be. Jim then
explains, Just because you re taught that something s right and everyone believes it s right, it don t
make it right. This teaches Huck that he does not always have to follow the expectations of society if
he does not believe they are right. The Grangerfords play an immense part in Huck s next adventure.

Charles Ponzi was born on March 3, 1882 in Italy. According to the New York Times, Ponzi came
from a wealthy family who lived in the city of Parma in Italy. Before he attended the University of
Rome La Sapienza, he had worked as postal worker.
Later in his life, he moved to the United States in 1903 by boarding the S.S Vancouver vessel. During
the trip, Ponzi had decided to spend all of his money on gambling and in the end, he was left with only
$2.50 when he reached the shores of Boston. Therefore, this situation forced him to learn English
quickly so he would be able to find a job in the States. After that, he was fortunate to find a job at a
restaurant, but in the end, he was fired due to his actions, which includes, treating customers unfairly
and stealing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His first job in Canada was being an assistant teller at a bank which served many italian immigrants
living that city. Despite the fact that he got promoted to the bank manager position, he ended up losing
his job because the bank was in a financial crisis. As a result, he ended up living at his boss s house
and helping the boss s family out, since the boss had fled to Mexico due to the bank s crisis. However,
his fraudulent behavior was shown again, just like what has happened before, he stole money from a
Zarossi customer by writing himself a check that worth $423.58 on a checkbook that he found in the
customer s office. In addition, he forged the signature on the check. Thus, he was put into jail for 3

6. Conclusion
6.1 Chapter Structure
This chapter describes the PASEDR (Planning Activity Support Evaluation Development Resources)
model, suggested as the LD for physics in higher education. It also outlines limitations of the research
and future opportunities for further studies.
6.2 Learning Design for Physics Teaching in Higher Education
PASEDR Model: From the summary of the previous chapter, a PASEDR model of Learning Design
has been developed (Figure 4). The arrows of the figure show the direction of the cycle. The whole
process is reversible. The two way direction of the arrow indicates that the component of the model
can be connected in both ways, such that planning can modify an activity component, however, the

Professional development. The important factor in developing teaching is the acknowledgment for
good teaching. Normally, at university, lecturers are awarded for their research, but not so much for
teaching. Therefore, they spend lots of time to study physics research. They do not have enough time
in studying PER. Sometimes, maybe, they get help from peer experience or workshop.
Resources. Although ICT plays an important role, today, in implementing their teaching techniques,
most lecturers think that it is not essential. Student engagement and learning by doing is important.
For implementing studio type activity and sharing, active learning is important.

6.3 Limitations of the Research
As to the limitations of this study, lecturers responses are insufficient. In this qualitative research, the
data highly relies on participants perceptions and beliefs and their honesty and truthfulness, and so the
study can be limited. Furthermore, it is a short term study and the data was collected over one
semester. Only four lecturers were interviewed. Therefore, it is not generalisable to any other context
or unit.
During data collection, neither an explanation nor an introduction of the framework from which a
teacher s action and teaching knowledge were analyzed was presented to the lecturers. A different
approach, in further research, could explore

Animal Farm, By George Orwell
These rebellious animals think no man means freedom and happiness, but they need to think again.
The animals of Manor Farm rebel against the farm owner, Mr. Jones, and name it Animal Farm. The
animals create Animalism, with seven commandments. As everything seems going well, two of the
animals get into a rivalry, and things start changing. Food starts disappearing and commandments are
changed, and the power begins to shift. Father of dystopian genre, George Orwell writes an interesting
allegory, Animal Farm, including common themes and symbols relating to modern day political
events.
Eric Arthur Blair, with a pen name of George Orwell, was born on June 25, 1903 ( George Orwell. ).
Blair described his young life as boring and dull, and his dad was never around ( George Orwell
Biography. ). He was taught in England and then joined the Indian Imperial Police in Burma, one of
the British colonies ( George Orwell. ). Orwell then moved to France and worked many jobs due to his
lack of success of an author ( George Orwell Biography. ). Orwell s first major work was published
under the name of George Orwell to not disappoint his family ( George Orwell Biography. ). His
beliefs had now changed from anarchy to socialism ( George Orwell. ). When he had encountered
some Soviet Communists, he had become an anti Stalinist ( George Orwell. ). In 1945, His Animal
Farm was published, and four years later, Eric Arthur Blair published 1984 ( George Orwell. ). Then,

Instructional Design Models Are Not Just Boxes And Arrows
In my opinion Instructional design models are not just boxes and arrows, they have practical value in
real life instructional design projects and to clarify that, I will first of all define what is instructional
design, define instructional analysis, define instructional design models, discuss component of models
and finally using one of the most widely known and used instructional design model to create a
practical real life instructional design project with topic titled ENGLISH LANGUAGE SENTENCES
AND PHRASES. Instructional design is defined as a system using learning theory that creates
specifications for the development and implementation of learning experiences, materials, and
environments (Whitmyer, 1999). According to Dick and Carey, An instructional analysis is a set of
procedures that, when applied to an instructional goal, results in the identification of the relevant steps
for performing a goal and the subordinate skills required for a student to achieve the goal Thus, the
instructional analysis breaks the skills described in your goal statement down into smaller steps, and
then identifies any other relevant skills that might be necessary. The instructional analysis is
developed from your goal statement, which highlights the importance of making sure your goal
statement is well written and worthwhile. Dick and Carey actually break the instructional analysis step
into two parts: Goal Analysis and Subordinate Skills Analysis. Instructional design models serve as

Thomas Jefferson Vs Hamilton
After the Constitution was ratified people had their own opinion about it. The Federalists who were
James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay just to name a few has a loose interpretation of the
Constitution. On the other hand, the Republicans which was lead by Thomas Jefferson had a very
strict interpretation of the Constitution. Both parties had a different view which will cause controversy
later on.
The Federalist who was mainly lead by Alexander Hamilton, who had the position of a treasure when
George Washington was president, wanted a strong central government that rivaled Great Britain.
While, Thomas Jefferson, who was in charge of foreign relations (starting 1789), wanted a small,

Frye Double Bound
It can be interpreted that Frye believes that the double bind goes beyond simple circumstantial
situations and finds its way into female oppression within everyday life. The double binds are able to
control what some women believe and do within their own lives. These double binds are what
construct social ideals and mold minorities into controlled groups. Frye describes these oppressive
acts as such, The experience of oppressed people is that the living of one s life is confined and shaped
by forces and barriers which are not accidental or occasional and hence avoidable, but are
systematically related to each other in such a way as to catch one between and among them and
restrict or penalize motion in any direction. It is the experience of ... Show more content on

As one can imagine, neither perspective is healthy when solely relied on; a combination of both
perspectives allows a person to see both the entire picture while evaluating the smaller facets that
make up the larger issue. Frye writes about how these views correlate to how people view oppression,
It is now possible to grasp one of the reasons why oppression can be hard to see and recognize: one
can study the elements of an oppressive structure with great care and some good will without seeing
the structure as a whole, and hence without seeing or being able to understand that one is looking at a
cage and that there are people there who are caged, whose motion and mobility are restricted, whose
lives are shaped and reduced (12). In lieu of the aforementioned statement and the quote that has
followed it, one can see that Frye believes that these perspectives, particularly the microscopic view is
quite harmful as it prevents people from seeing the big picture or the macroscopic

Personal Training Professionals
Working out with a personal training professional can be expensive and potentially time consuming.
Many people wonder whether they really need a professional fitness instructor to help them achieve
their fitness goals, or get them started with a fitness program. However, if you are just getting started
or implementing a new fitness program, you are probably facing a similar dilemma.
Here is everything you need to know about professional fitness training and how you can benefit from
it.
Experience and Knowledge are Essential
A personal training professional can create an individualized program that is perfect for your fitness
needs. Getting such a customized program will not only target your problem areas, but also help you
achieve the best results in the most efficient way possible. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many instructors that lack the necessary competence needed to help you lose weight or build
muscle. And, though having a customized fitness program is the best option, having a fitness
professional that is well educated and knowledgeable seems to work even better because they can
create fitness formula that really works for your needs.
A Personal Trainer can Keep You Motivated
The second biggest advantage of working out with a fitness training professional is the motivation and
stimulation you will get. A fitness trainer will push you hard, making you work beyond your comfort
zone.
The psychological aspect of working out with a trainer is even more important than getting an
individual program. Perseverance is the key to succeeding in the fitness world and it can be difficult to
achieve many of your fitness goals on your own. Which is why so many individuals hire a personal
trainer because they understand what you need to help you reach your goals. Even if that means a little
push or words of encouragement.

Advantages Of Computer Invented Animation
Walt Disney animation
Hand drawn vs. Computerised
Walt Disney, a household name for kids and adults alike, the power house of kid s animation!
This was up till its last drawn animation of The Lion King in 1994, when other animators like Pixar
and DreamWorks came up with more modern computerised 3D films, such as Toy Story in 1995; Ants
in 1998 and Shrek in 2001. All these animations had box office success and all were computer
generated.
While Disney was producing hand drawn animation like Hercules, Brother Bear and Fantasia they
were falling behind and losing vast amounts of money. The fact that not one of these movies made it
into the top of the charts fuelled rumours that they might close down the animation section.

Scene Analysis Of Goodfellas
For my scene analysis, I will be talking about the scenes in Martin Scorsese s film, Goodfellas that
take place inside the nightclub. The film portrays the true story of mobster Henry Hill (played by Ray
Liotta) who grows up in the mob and works hard to advance himself through the ranks. He enjoys his
life of money and luxury, but is oblivious to the horror that he causes. During the film, the mobsters
spend a lot of their time enjoying themselves at a nightclub they frequent called the Copacabana . In
Goodfellas, the Copacabana is a high class nightclub littered with mafia gangsters and low key
lighting with a red tint and a Hawaiian theme. The scenes were shot by cinematographer, Michael
Ballhaus. Inside the club, the lighting is primarily dark with a tint of red which appears to be coming
from the practicals seen within the shots. This is clearly to give off a dark mafia vibe within the setting
of the film. The DP wants the audience to have a sense of slight discomfort within the nightclub and to
foreshadow the dark events that take place throughout the rest of the film. The style of lighting
displays the mafia lifestyle as something that is filled with murder, deception, and constant fear .
Bright lighting is only used during happy events during the film such as Henry and Karen s wedding
and to give off positive vibes for that moment. The scenes inside the nightclub seem to have a lighting
ratio of around 8:1, so it s accurate to say the setting appeared pretty

School Shootings
Guns in the Classroom
131 people have died in mass school shootings since 1999 to 2015 (Le Miere). This excludes any
shootings that have resulted with 4 or less fatalities because they are not considered mass shootings.
However, these tragic events can be prevented or stopped faster if a trained adult had presented a
firearm. I believe that if a teacher would like to have a firearm in their classroom to help prevent any
fatalities from possible school shootings they should be allowed. Many people oppose the concept of
guns in the classroom, but a compromise can be found between the two sides of the continuum. These
compromisation can be applied to the classroom to help stop school shootings and make sure school
shootings don t occur.
Many people oppose the concept of their being a gun in the classroom. These people who oppose it
are a genuine part of the application process for this policy to be applied and their opinions and
worries need to be heard. However not every need can be met most can and both sides can come to a
compromise. The teacher not being able to handle the firearm or react in a dangerous situation is a big
worry for many people. Most people would not have the nerve, rational thought, or skill to do it on the
spot. Providing stop gap training would not address the whole picture. You would be taking people
who were trained to educate many of whom had most likely never owned or even fired a gun and
transforming them into the appointed defenders of

What Are The Major Causes Of Conflict In The Workplace
What are the major causes of conflict in the workplace? Is conflict always negative? Explain your
position. What are some effective ways of preventing destructive conflict in the workplace? When you
are trying to negotiate a workplace conflict through to a win win solution, what steps do you follow?
What pitfalls do you need to avoid? Explain.
The workplace is an environment that can be a source of conflict. In the workplace environment it is
important to realize the causes of conflicts, effective ways to prevent destructive conflicts and
different problem solving techniques for conflicts. A conflict is when a person is or is about to cause
harm or damage to something else another person cares about (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Additionally,
conflict can be viewed in a constructive or destructive manner (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Conflict are
a common part of the workplace environment (Oore, Leiter, LaBlanc, 2015). There are four major
sources of conflict; content, values, negotiation of selves and institutionalized (Lamberton Minor,
2014). Context conflict are related to a disagreement on content or the correct actions associated with
ideas (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Were as values conflicts relate to a disagreement on beliefs or values
(Lamberton Minor, 2014). The third type of conflict, negotiation of selves, relations to a person s self
definition, self worth and inner conflicts (Lamberton Minor, 2014). The final type of conflict,

The Progressive Era During The 1920 S
The progressive era during the 1890 s and 1920 s in the Unites States saw an economic expansion
with the aid of the industrial capitalists, a growing population with immigrants coming to the United
States seeking a better life through labor with American industrialization, and government corruption
being eliminated progressively by political reforms like the Sherman Antitrust Act. This era also had
complications such as racial tension between immigrants, poor working and living conditions amongst
the American public, society division based on different characteristics such as ethnicity and average
working revenue. As the works of Howard Zinn, Thomas C. Leonard, and David Montgomery specify
the endeavor America as a society underwent during the Progressive Era. Through the economic
expansion during the Progressive Era companies wanted to keep costs down while maintaining profits
high with low wages, poor working conditions, and long hours at the expense of immigrants. The
underrepresented individuals faced with these problematic issues consisted of blacks, whites, Chinese,
Europeans, and female labors. Wages in America during the Progressive Era had been based on race,
sex, and social class. Mary Stovall author of the article The Chicago Defender further expands on the
issue of class favoritism by elaborating in his work how blacks were charged higher rents than whites
for comparable housing . These problematic matters often caused a heated argument and in some

Path Loss Formula
If we set the receive antenna gain is G_R, and λ=c/f is the wavelength (in meters), c=3×〖10〗^8 m/s,
the effective area A of the transmit antenna is:
A=G_R λ^2/4π (2.2)
Then, the received power as a function of distance d can be calculated as:
P_R (d)=(w∙A)/L=(P_T G_T G_R λ^2)/((4π〖d)〗^2 L) (2.3) where L (L≥1) is the system loss factor.
Commonly, we set G_T=G_R=L=1 in simulations for easier calculation.
From the formula 2.3, it is easy to see that the received signal power falls off inversely proportional to
the square of the distance d between the transmit antenna and receive antenna. Also, it is proportional
to the square of the signal wavelength λ, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

P_R (dBm)=P_T (dBm)+K(dB) 10γlog_10 (d/d_0 ) (2.8) where d_0 is the reference distance and it is
usually assumed to be 1 m to 10 m for indoor environment and 10 m to 100 m for outdoor
environment, γ is the path loss exponent which depends on the surroundings. The value K is
sometimes set to be the free space path loss at distance d_0, which can be calculated as:
K(dB)= 20〖log〗_10 ((4πd_0)/λ) (2.9)
2.3.3. Atmosphere gaseous losses

Thr Brazilian Film Industry
Brazil The Brazilian cinema has seen its fair share of highs and lows from 1980 2014. The cinema
success is directly related to the people in power since the cinema is funded through government
subsides. Brazilian producers cant hold a candle to the American cinema, not many can, they tried
making box offices hits. Last year, in 2013, the top 10 films in Brazil were posted and a Brazilian film
was the 3rd American imported films came in the first two. The little victories are important to a
country that has such a free trade market they don t focus on pushing their own cinema. The early
1980 s were a dark time for Brazil. President Figueiredo came into office when debt and
unemployment were at its highest. Also Brazil was in $90million dollar debt. This economic struggle
introduces Brazilian cinema to a new low. By the early 1990 s President Collar opens the market to
free trade. This was to industrialize Brazil, and attempt to cut government spending. Cutting
government spending hurt cinema, which is why there will be a large decline in the early 1990s. By
1992 president Franco came into office. The inflation rate by this time doubled. This was a very bad
time for brazils government. With the economy doing so poorly the urban crime life was high, acting
as a muse for many producers. At this time 40% of the domestic films were documentaries on urban
violence. In the 1980s to produce a film in Brazil is cost about $500,000 in order for the film to pay

A Bed for All Sizes: An Introduction to Bariatric Beds
You may have heard of the benefits of bariatric beds and how it can help patients with weight
challenges, but what does bariatric mean, really? The term bariatrics came from two Greek words:
baros meaning weight and iatrics meaning treatment. It was first used around 1965 to refer to a branch
of medicine that studies and practices ways to prevent and treat obesity. It also looks at the underlying
causes of weight gain. Health and fitness fields such as exercise, dieting, and behavioral therapy are
also part of bariatrics.
Contemporary usage of the term has evolved to refer to hospital equipment used for people of larger

Hepatitis C Virus ( Hcv )
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a small (~55 to 65 nm), spherical enveloped virus that can cause major
illness. Hepatitis C was discovered after the intense investigations between 1982 and 1988 in Chiron
corporation. Michael Houghton discovered the non A and non B hepatitis by using the molecular
approach. Hepatitis C affects liver caused by the hepatitis virus; the virus can cause acute and chronic
hepatitis infection ranging from a mild illness to severity, lifelong illness. Mostly patients are affected
with acute infection; however, chronic hepatitis is caused by liver cirrhosis a severe scarring which
can lead to liver failure. HCV affects more than 185 million people worldwide. The rate of chronic
hepatitis is affected by race, gender, and viral immune response. Depending on the certain region,
hepatitis C infections can be concentrated in certain populations or in general populations. The HCV
have high genetic diversity which is characterized by regional variation which makes treating the
infection more challenging. Hepatitis patients are often prescribed ribavirin and interferon; but current
research is developing new therapeutic drugs which will be less toxic and can be targeted to each
genotype. This review will provide the historical, and scientific aspects of hepatitis C virus.

Kathryn and Robyn had a few comments regarding the current packet of information given to patients
at the Bellevue GHC in the ophthalmology department (personal communication, November 2, 2015).
They stated the information contains too much bold print, is disorganized, and too extensive. They
indicated they collaborated in producing plain language products for other departments within GHC.
They query as to where they could be of most benefit. Contact for further instrumentation will be
made next year. Their remarks were valuable.
Objective #3. Analyze the collected data to determine the strengths and weakness is the final goal. It

The Messiah as Corruptor in Frank Herbert’s Dune Essay
The Messiah as Corruptor in Frank Herbert s Dune
Frank Herbert s Dune is arguably one of the best science fiction novels ever written. A milestone of
the genre, the work incorporates an intricate plot with a unique setting and memorable characters.
Dune is rich with thematic material, touching on such varied issues as ecology, economics, religion,
and politics; ultimately, it is a novel about control, the consequences of power, and human nature. Any
reading of Dune and its sequels inevitably arrives at an analysis of Paul, who begins the novel as the
youthful ducal heir to House Atreides.
Trained both by his mother, a sister of the enigmatic Bene Gesserit School, and by the mentat Thufir
Hawat, the human equivalent of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paul s character is the subject of continued debate among scholars of science fiction. In
The Prince on Arrakis, Kevin Mulachy argues that Herbert s contrast of Paul and his adversaries is
meant to provide an examination and refutation of Machiavellian political strategies. The Messiah and
the Greens, by Susan Stratton, concludes that Dune is a novel expressing ecological concerns
surfacing during the time of its inception; Paul is meant to offer a solution to the environmental
problems of Arrakis. Paul Kucera s Jungian reading of Dune, presented in Listening to Ourselves
suggests that the novel is an analysis of absolute symbolism, in which Paul is a representation of
culturally unifying power. Comparisons can be drawn between Paul and ideas presented by Plato in
The Republic; his character resonates strongly with both the philosopher king ideal and the
puppetmasters of the Allegory of the
Cave. The discussion between these different perspectives arises in several areas: Mulachy and
Stratton present their opinions on how the setting of Dune affects Paul s actions. As both argue that the
setting is important to Paul s rise to power, the discussion then turns to a debate on the protagonist s
sources of power and how his role as

  • 3. Social Media And Social Isolationism There is a reason that AA meetings and other addiction recovery programs are face to face and not virtual. This is because human beings are innately social and therefore, can perform actions for the betterment of themselves and others. Without this face to face contact that social media encourages, people, like Timothy, find themselves being swallowed up by the effects social isolationism has on one s physical and physiological well being, however as we will see later on, social media can be extremely beneficial in helping those with social isolationism. The dangers The effects of social isolationism can be devastating both physically and psychologically. In the physical aspect, people who suffer from social isolationism find themselves feeling like they have less energy, and vitality in life. They simply don t feel up to the tasks at hand and are tired all the time. Social isolationism can also affect how many times we get sick and how our bodies heal. For example, those who suffer from this find that when they are injured or sick, that their bodies take considerably longer to recover and to feel normal as well as they find themselves getting sick or injured more often than others. Moreover, there is also a greater likelihood of chronic illness such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Beyond Happiness And Unhappiness Summary In Steven Donoso s essay Beyond Happiness and Unhappiness, Ekhart Tolle makes his views concerning how individuals attempt to establish and define their personality clear. He constantly emphasizes the points that life and Now are one (6) and that we live in a world of mental abstraction, conceptualization, and image making a world of thought (6). Essentially, what Tolle states is that one usually do not have much say in who they are or who they are becoming, people are merely conditioned by external forces such as family and the past, society, technology, and religion to think the way they do and unless they can see the conditioning in themselves they will be unable to get free of it. According to Tolle, one of the biggest influences that help to define who we are is our family. He states that from the moment a parent tells their child their name people s sense of identity... gets bound up with their mental concepts and mental images of I and me (6). In saying this, he is basically saying that we are conditioned as soon as we can identify ourselves with our name because at this point, we have already begun to label ourselves. What is the actual tax dollars that go to the in state students? Schools collage shouldn t be limited to just your state based on cost but it should be something you chose based on how good the school is. To fix this problem you could either have a universal tax that gives money to all schools in America this way schools have to give everyone who wants to go to their school pay the same cost. The other idea I have to fix this problem is to use the money the schools get already and have everyone take a cut this would increase instate tuition but also eliminate out of state tuition. ... It is a significant characteristic and skill set that distinguishes them from members of other generations (Alexander Sysko 127). The skill of having technology be our sixth sense has helped millennials immensely when it comes to getting jobs. Growing up in the first generation with technology does have its downside. Unfortunately, growing up with technology has also caused millennials to be one of the laziest generation yet. The invention of the television, and video games like nintendo, xbox, and playstation have caused a lot of the millennial generation to be incredibly lazy. It is not just the technology that has made the millennial generation lazy, it is also how they were raised. The millennials were raised in the trophy era, where no matter what someone does whether it be good or bad, they will always get praised. The trophy era has affected millennials everywhere even when they grow up. For example, in the workplace millennials always expect to get praised for finishing their job no matter if they did well or not. Millennials are singled out from other generations in the ... In 2005 the amount of internet users that used social networks sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram was roughly 8% compared to 73% in 2013 according to the Pew Internet Project. This jump was mainly because people were using social networking to keep contact with people from their past as well as speaking with new people. Social networks continue growing because of the variety of ways they allow people to express themselves. Instagram, which was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in 2010, allows people to post pictures of themselves for others to see, while Twitter, founded in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass, lets people send short messages in 140 or less characters. For much of the sport s history, qualifying sessions differed little from practice sessions; drivers would have one or more entire sessions in which to attempt to set their fastest time, sometimes within a limited number of attempts, with the grid order determined by each driver s best single lap, fastest (on pole position) to slowest. Grids were limited to the fastest 26 cars and drivers had to lap within 107% of the pole sitter s time to qualify for the race; the 107% rule (as it is commonly known) was re introduced for 2011. Other formats have included Friday pre qualifying, and sessions in which each driver was allowed only one qualifying lap, run separately in a predetermined order. The current qualifying system was adopted for the 2006 season. Known as knock out qualifying, it is split into three periods (or rounds). In each period, drivers run qualifying laps to attempt to advance to the next period, running as many laps as they wish, with the slowest drivers being knocked out at the end of the period and their grid positions set, based on their ... • 32. Scene Analysis Of Goodfellas For my scene analysis, I will be talking about the scenes in Martin Scorsese s film, Goodfellas that take place inside the nightclub. The film portrays the true story of mobster Henry Hill (played by Ray Liotta) who grows up in the mob and works hard to advance himself through the ranks. He enjoys his life of money and luxury, but is oblivious to the horror that he causes. During the film, the mobsters spend a lot of their time enjoying themselves at a nightclub they frequent called the Copacabana . In Goodfellas, the Copacabana is a high class nightclub littered with mafia gangsters and low key lighting with a red tint and a Hawaiian theme. The scenes were shot by cinematographer, Michael Ballhaus. Inside the club, the lighting is primarily dark with a tint of red which appears to be coming from the practicals seen within the shots. This is clearly to give off a dark mafia vibe within the setting of the film. The DP wants the audience to have a sense of slight discomfort within the nightclub and to foreshadow the dark events that take place throughout the rest of the film. The style of lighting displays the mafia lifestyle as something that is filled with murder, deception, and constant fear . Bright lighting is only used during happy events during the film such as Henry and Karen s wedding and to give off positive vibes for that moment. The scenes inside the nightclub seem to have a lighting ratio of around 8:1, so it s accurate to say the setting appeared pretty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This excludes any shootings that have resulted with 4 or less fatalities because they are not considered mass shootings. However, these tragic events can be prevented or stopped faster if a trained adult had presented a firearm. I believe that if a teacher would like to have a firearm in their classroom to help prevent any fatalities from possible school shootings they should be allowed. Many people oppose the concept of guns in the classroom, but a compromise can be found between the two sides of the continuum. These compromisation can be applied to the classroom to help stop school shootings and make sure school shootings don t occur. Many people oppose the concept of their being a gun in the classroom. These people who oppose it are a genuine part of the application process for this policy to be applied and their opinions and worries need to be heard. However not every need can be met most can and both sides can come to a compromise. The teacher not being able to handle the firearm or react in a dangerous situation is a big worry for many people. Most people would not have the nerve, rational thought, or skill to do it on the spot. Providing stop gap training would not address the whole picture. What are some effective ways of preventing destructive conflict in the workplace? When you are trying to negotiate a workplace conflict through to a win win solution, what steps do you follow? What pitfalls do you need to avoid? Explain. The workplace is an environment that can be a source of conflict. In the workplace environment it is important to realize the causes of conflicts, effective ways to prevent destructive conflicts and different problem solving techniques for conflicts. A conflict is when a person is or is about to cause harm or damage to something else another person cares about (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Additionally, conflict can be viewed in a constructive or destructive manner (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Conflict are a common part of the workplace environment (Oore, Leiter, LaBlanc, 2015). There are four major sources of conflict; content, values, negotiation of selves and institutionalized (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Context conflict are related to a disagreement on content or the correct actions associated with ideas (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Were as values conflicts relate to a disagreement on beliefs or values (Lamberton Minor, 2014). The Progressive Era During The 1920 S The progressive era during the 1890 s and 1920 s in the Unites States saw an economic expansion with the aid of the industrial capitalists, a growing population with immigrants coming to the United States seeking a better life through labor with American industrialization, and government corruption being eliminated progressively by political reforms like the Sherman Antitrust Act. This era also had complications such as racial tension between immigrants, poor working and living conditions amongst the American public, society division based on different characteristics such as ethnicity and average working revenue. As the works of Howard Zinn, Thomas C. Leonard, and David Montgomery specify the endeavor America as a society underwent during the Progressive Era. Through the economic expansion during the Progressive Era companies wanted to keep costs down while maintaining profits high with low wages, poor working conditions, and long hours at the expense of immigrants. The underrepresented individuals faced with these problematic issues consisted of blacks, whites, Chinese, Europeans, and female labors. Wages in America during the Progressive Era had been based on race, sex, and social class. Path Loss Formula If we set the receive antenna gain is G_R, and λ=c/f is the wavelength (in meters), c=3×〖10〗^8 m/s, the effective area A of the transmit antenna is: A=G_R λ^2/4π (2.2) Then, the received power as a function of distance d can be calculated as: P_R (d)=(w∙A)/L=(P_T G_T G_R λ^2)/((4π〖d)〗^2 L) (2.3) where L (L≥1) is the system loss factor. Commonly, we set G_T=G_R=L=1 in simulations for easier calculation. The cinema success is directly related to the people in power since the cinema is funded through government subsides. Brazilian producers cant hold a candle to the American cinema, not many can, they tried making box offices hits. Last year, in 2013, the top 10 films in Brazil were posted and a Brazilian film was the 3rd American imported films came in the first two. The little victories are important to a country that has such a free trade market they don t focus on pushing their own cinema. The early 1980 s were a dark time for Brazil. President Figueiredo came into office when debt and unemployment were at its highest. Also Brazil was in $90million dollar debt. This economic struggle introduces Brazilian cinema to a new low. By the early 1990 s President Collar opens the market to free trade. This was to industrialize Brazil, and attempt to cut government spending. Cutting government spending hurt cinema, which is why there will be a large decline in the early 1990s. By 1992 president Franco came into office. The inflation rate by this time doubled. This was a very bad time for brazils government. With the economy doing so poorly the urban crime life was high, acting as a muse for many producers. Dune is rich with thematic material, touching on such varied issues as ecology, economics, religion, and politics; ultimately, it is a novel about control, the consequences of power, and human nature. Any reading of Dune and its sequels inevitably arrives at an analysis of Paul, who begins the novel as the youthful ducal heir to House Atreides. The Messiah and the Greens, by Susan Stratton, concludes that Dune is a novel expressing ecological concerns surfacing during the time of its inception; Paul is meant to offer a solution to the environmental problems of Arrakis. Paul Kucera s Jungian reading of Dune, presented in Listening to Ourselves suggests that the novel is an analysis of absolute symbolism, in which Paul is a representation of culturally unifying power. Comparisons can be drawn between Paul and ideas presented by Plato in The Republic; his character resonates strongly with both the philosopher king ideal and the puppetmasters of the Allegory of the Cave. The discussion between these different perspectives arises in several areas: Mulachy and Stratton present their opinions on how the setting of Dune affects Paul s actions.
