Classroom Reflection Analysis
For the final part of the project, me and the other students, plus the teachers and aides met in the
classroom on Monday morning to reflect on the project. During the final round table teachers
expressed some concern with communication. I think they felt like it was difficult to
communicate with us students since they did not have any contact information from us. A great
suggestion was made during the meeting to make a google document that would include all of
our contact information as well as updates and information about the all the children who the
teachers were concerned about. I feel like this would be beneficial for both the students and the
teachers in order to contact each other more easily and to get updates on the children efficiently.
During the course of the semester, I felt like the students and the teachers were not on the same
page due to the issues of contacting each other. For instance, when me and partner would get to
the preschool we sometimes would be unable to fully observe or coach during our time due to
other activities happening in the classroom. For example, one time me and my partner came and
an employee from the public library was there for her weekly reading activity. I felt a little
surprised by this novel situation, but my partner and I would try and adjust our plan to make it
feasible to the new situation. Another issue the teachers had was determining what time works
best for us students to come in and observe or coach. Our teacher Jihan did not limit us too much
on our times, except when they were on field trips. Other teachers noted that they had specific
times for students to come in, and they felt overwhelmed by the amount of students. They
described the situations to be somewhat difficult to discuss the children they were concerned
about or how the strategies were working for them. Hearing the teachers talk about when would be
the best time for students to come in reminded me that they have a lot to take into consideration
when planning. For instance, they need to take into account which and how many children will be
in their classroom since some arrive late and some leave early. They need to take into account how
much help they will need to prepare or clean up an

Dea Is A United States Department Of Justice Enforcement...
The Drug Enforcement Administration also known as DEA is a United States Department of
Justice law enforcement agency. Their purposes is to enforce the law to stop the sale of illegal
drugs, drug trafficking, investigate major crimes within the United States and internationally, and to
secure and protect our communities from ever confronting drugs. D.E.A. also cooperates with many
major law enforcement agencies such as federal, state, local, and overseas law enforcement
agencies to stop criminals from smuggling drugs in our territory and help the people from getting
involved with drugs. Other responsibilities include investigating major crimes, carrying out

The United States have declared that it is doing its best to combat the war on drugs. The drug
problem has not stopped and the people continue to buy drugs no matter what circumstances they
are obtained. With drugs prices rising, people are willing do anything to get drugs even if it leads
them to become involved in criminal activities such as robbery. The money and military activity
have not been enough, and the urban problem, has not been resolved. The United States has the
largest demand of drugs in the world. While other countries also face the drug problem, the United
States has spent the most money and law enforcement; however, its effectiveness is questionable.
Consequently, now there is a great amount of drugs coming from Mexico s borderline into the
United States. The drug cartels have become more violent, killing Mexican officers and innocent
people in order to smuggle their drugs. The United States needs more security control and better
coordination between agencies to fight the violent Mexican drug war spilling across the southern
border. There is not enough organization between the D.E.A and other groups such as the
Department of Homeland Security. The United States has little hope of winning the war unless
enough protection on the border and Border States are developed. The agencies need better
coordination between the federal, state and locals agencies in order to prevent more drugs to cross

Cultural Revolution Mao
A revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall
Evaluate the accuracy of this statement in relation to the causes of the Chinese cultural revolution
A revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall. This statement by
Che Guevara suggests that in order for a revolution to occur, the leaders must not hesitate, but
rather, they should take immediate and effective actions. This quote is particularly accurate for the
Chinese Cultural Revolution, because the main leader of the Revolution Mao Zedong was able to
manipulate the public, thus enabling him to bring about a revolution. The Cultural Revolution
occurred as a result of the failures in the Great Leap Forward, and officially, Mao claimed that the
goal of the Chinese Cultural Revolution is to build a society surrounding the proletariats by
bringing back revolutionary spirit. However, it became increasingly clear that Mao s real intentions
were rather personal, as he used the Cultural Revolution to re establish his power as the Chairman
of the Communist Party of China.
The Cultural Revolution was Mao s response to the disasters of the Great Leap Forward, during
which at least 30 million Chinese people starved to death in the span of 5 years (Ben Walsh). In
1959, Mao admitted that I also have an indirect share of the blame... I don t want other people to
shirk their responsibility. (Phillip Short). This suggests that even though Mao was aware that his

The Field Of Applied Behavioral Science
The field of Applied Behavioral Science s future will be greatly affected by contemporary issues
that involve the creation of the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA), board
certification limitations, and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
First it is important to examine the effects that the APBA will have on ABS future. The creation of
the APBA will have many negative affects on the field of behavioral analysis as a whole. Many
behavior analysts believe that the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), which is
comprised mainly of individuals whom have a primarily scholarly interest, is not as supportive of
behavior analysts who participate dominantly in practice. This idea that the ABAI ... Show more

The author, Thomas S Critchfield (2011) believes that scientists and practioners should be held
separate, however I believe that this will further damage our unity under the same field, Applied
Behavior Analysis. Critchfields basis for this is that both are both professions, but are different
professions, science and practice, with different concerns and therefore should be kept separate in
order for each to succeed in their own way. It is to my knowledge that both must coexist to better
understand the issues that ABS typically faces.
According to Bales (2012) Chritchfield s ideas deem to be a misguided idea. Bales stated that
while the two professions may be different it is important to remember that there are individuals
who engage in both science and practice. It is impossible to say that these two parts are so
separate from each other that they need to flourish in different environments. This could cause
translational research to become nonexistent and lead use back to simple basic research and
research that is for the sole purpose of helping the people with no care taken to flourish the field.
This would lead to a field that may make discoveries but that may not be able to translate those
ideas to benefit the lives of the people. If this deems to be the case, then why call our science

Diabetes is spreading at an alarming rate, with one in three Americans born after 2000
developing diabetes in their lifetime. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has
termed the rapid rise of cases as epidemic. As of 2016, more than 29 million Americans are living

Hamlet Act 1 Scene 1
SCENE ONE
1.The first scene starts off with Bernardo and Francisco, soldiers on duty. Bernardo is telling
Francisco to go to bed, but just after, they are joined by Horatio and Marcellus. Francisco leaves
and the other three men continue to talk about ghosts and apparitions. Horatio expresses his
disbelief in ghosts, but this soon changes when they are encountered with one. Horatio seems a bit
scared, but because he is the scholar, Bernardo tells him to talk to the ghost, as that is the only way
it will communicate with them. They believe it is the ghost of the late King of Denmark, but when
Horatio suggests this, it seems offended and goes away. The men seem to take the ghosts as a

Digoxin Case Study Essay
Question 1:
Digoxin toxicity. Digoxin has a narrow therapeutic index and chronic toxicity is more likely in
the elderly and those with renal impairment. Since Mr Buchanan is 75 years old, he may already
have some form of renal impairment and therefore is at a higher risk of developing toxic serums
levels if continually taking Digoxin (Australian Medicines Handbook, 2016 and Nickson, 2014).
Digoxin toxicity can be caused by prolonged use, an overdose or a general increase in the current
dose (Australian Medicines Handbook, 2016). If Mr Buchanan is taking digoxin for an extended
amount of time, he may build up a tolerance to its effects due to being consistently exposed to the

Document any abnormal results (lower or higher than normal levels) in the nursing progress
notes. Encourage regular oral fluids to keep his kidneys and renal tract hydrated. Monitor Mr
Buchanan s fluid intake and output through a Fluid Balance Chart (FBC) and/or daily weighs.
This is important in Mr Buchanan s case as Digoxin is renally excreted and if his ability to
excrete fluid decreases, digoxin levels may build up and increase (Nickson, 2014) Consider a fluid
restriction to prevent possible fluid overloading due to his decreased renal function (Vera, 2011).
Perform a urinalysis when possible to find levels of Specific Gravity (how concentrated the urine
is), pH, Protein, Blood, Nitrites, Leukocytes, Ketones, Glucose and Bilirubin. The results of this
test can help identify any possible impairment in renal function and identify the presence of an
infection (Vera, 2011).
Risk 3 Arrhythmias due to drug induced QT prolongation Educate Mr Buchanan on the signs and
symptoms of arrhythmias such as: A fluttering in his chest. Chest pain. Shortness of breath. Light
headedness or dizziness.

Effective Science Teaching
Science is, by its nature, inquiry based and science knowledge is built through processes in which
discoveries of the natural world are made (Abruscato, 2000). It utilizes discovery and scientific
thinking process to explore and learn knowledge and skills. Learning by doing is the new efficient
method in teaching science. For kindergarten, this method leads to better understanding of science
concepts and builds skills that children will use in future life .What a child can do with assistance
now, they can later do on their own (Vygotsky, 1978). John Dewey (1916) stated that children must
be engaged in an active quest for learningand new ideas. Inquiry is important in educating
kindergarteners because it not only keeps them interested in lessons but also helps them retain more
information when performing exploration and investigation. Children are naturally motivated to
learn and actively seek out information to help their understanding (Piaget, 1950).The success of
students who participate in hands on inquiry activities suggests that if students have first hands
experience with science, concepts are easier to understand and apply and students are generally
more favorable to science and have better understanding of the nature of science .Within a
conceptual framework, inquiry learning and active learner involvement can lead to important
outcomes in the classroom. In kindergarten, students who are actively making observations,
collecting results and drawing

An effective team has strong leadership where the team leader not only recognizes what they bring

doesn t have a hidden agenda. Respect is a very important characteristic of an effective team
because if members of the team disrespect each other and put down team member s ideas,
productivity could possibly slow down because team member s willingness to contribute ideas and

The movie was released on November 28, 2013, a week before Mandela s death . It was based on
Mandela s autobiography Long Walk to Freedom . The film includes many factual incidents which

Willy Russell s Use Of Political Satire In Educating Rita
Willy Russell, a famous playwright presents this two character dramatic piece following the story
of Susan White, a 26 year old working class woman, with a passion for education and self
discovery. She strives to be a certified member of the middle class, believing that education is the
key to gaining more choices in life. By changing her name to Rita , after the author Rita Mae

tutor Frank, under the illusion that educationwill set her free. Directly reflecting the society in 1985,
when the playis set, Russell through the use of political satire, and simple slapstick, conveys the
social division, gender inequality and stereotypes in this play.
Political satire is a significant part of comedy with the purpose of ridiculing social and political
failures through the use of wit, irony, and humour. Though it is also used to evoke laughter, its
main purpose is to mock, deride or expose the government s guileful or wicked motives. Russell

Since that time, those funds were not replaced and further budget cuts were made. In short,
much of the money for the program was gone. A book was selected for 2009 and used in some
courses, but we were unable to bring the author in for a speaking engagement (the primary cost
of the program). Each of the previous years cost approximately $15,000. The small amount of
funding still available for the program was just not adequate to provide for bringing in the
author. Objectives: Develop a cohesiveness between students (especially the entering freshman
class). No matter what classes they are taking or various activities in which they participate, they
will all have a common experience of reading the iRead book. Once again, encourage as many
instructors as possible to utilize the book in their curriculum. (This was especially successful in
the past with the English and Human Services departments.) Provide additional cocurricular
activities, such as Mondays at the Mabee events, to promote and expand upon the book and its
topics. Bring the author to campus as a culminating activity for the Washburn and Topeka
community. Benefits/Outcomes: The success of this program will, once again, be measured by a
combination of the following: Was the book used by a variety of instructors across the discipline
areas? How many books did the WU Bookstore sell? Did we have a variety of supplemental
activities during the fall semester

Acknowledgement
At first I want to express gratitude to the Almighty Allah for his endless kindness to give me the
chance to work under tremendous supervision of my honorable teacher Dr. Arshad M. Chowdhury
to give me the opportunity to work on an enormous task.
Objective:
GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) is a digital mobile telephony system which is
TDMA based wireless network technology developed widely in Europe and other parts of the
world. GSM uses a variation of time division multiple access (TDMA) and is the most widely
used of the three digital wireless telephony technologies (TDMA, GSM, and CDMA). GSM
digitizes and compresses data, then sends it down a channel with two other streams of user data,
each in its own time slot.
GSM phones make use of a SIM card to identify the user s account. The use of the SIM card
allows GSM network users to quickly move their phone number from one GSM phone to
another by simply moving the SIM card. Currently GSM networks operate on the 850MHz,
900MHz, 1800MHz, and 1900MHz frequency bands. Devices that support all four bands are
called quad band, with those that support 3 or 2 bands called tri band and dual band, respectively.
In the United States, Cingular operates on the 850 and 1900MHz bands, while T Mobile operates
only on the 1900MHz band.
GSM security:
Security is the degree of protection against damages, danger, loss and crime. In our days, the need
for security makes many people look for different ways in

Hi, I m Clayton Stuhrenberg! I am a junior at Palacios High School and am going to talk about
Saint Isidore. I chose this saint because he kinda reminds me of myself. But first, you need to
know his story. This is Isidore s life story.
Isidore was actually born into a family made up of saints that lived during the sixth century in
Spain. Both of his brothers, Leander and Fulgentius and his sister, Florentina, are all recognized as
saints in Spain. It was also a family of pioneers and they had a ton of determination, with his strong
and great brothers serving as bishops. On the other hand, the sister was an abbess.

learning after what his brother did but embraced education and worked out any problems he had.
Isidore moved past his past and became known as, The best teacher is Spain. .
His absolute love of learning leads him to promote the creation of a seminary in every diocese of
Spain. He wanted to make sure that everyone had access to a place where they could learn.
Furthermore, he made sure that all branches of knowledge, even including the arts and medicine,
were taught in these seminaries.
His encyclopedia of knowledge or the Etymologies was a popular textbook for about a period of
nine centuries. He also had written books about grammar, astronomy, and geography, as well as
theology. At the point when the Arabs took the investigation of Aristotle back to Europe, this was

Rap Hop And Hip Hop
Rap/Hip Hop is a huge part of today s music industry, with a more loyal fan base than any other
genre of music. Even though they have such a large following, there are still many that disapprove
of how the Rap game is conducted, and have no respect for the people who claim to be rappers.
Many people look at Hip Hop artists and think that they are all hard, gang banging, drug slanging
thugs from the hood. But in all reality most of the rappers in modern Hip Hop had never stepped
foot in the hood until after they finally built a little credibility by being a Hip Hop artist. Now, in
today s society it s acceptable for a person to front like they are something that they are not, but

Yes, obviously there are still words in Hip Hop (except for Migos music), but there is no true
meaning behind them. Today all rappers talk about is getting high and drunk, driving fast cars
and riding fast women with large features. They also talk about how no one is real anymore
while they re doing the same thing they re dogging on (hypocrites). When they write their songs,
the flow is choppy and sounds like incoherent babble. Rap/Hip Hop back in the late 80s and
throughout the 90s people were talking about things they really did. They spoke of the struggle,
they spoke on real issues and had their own views, instead of misguided judgement to make it
seem like they care. The lyrics were relatable unlike in modern Rap. Not many people are going
out and buying Bugatti s left and right while sipping on Ciroc and counting stacks of Benjamins.
But when you hear songs like First of the Month by Bone Thugs N Harmony, you can sit there
and think, Dang, I understand exactly where he s coming from with this, this is because there
are a lot of people who grew up on food stamps and welfare checks. When that money comes it s
time to celebrate like they say in the song. An example of how trash lyrics are in modern Rap is

Similarities Between Muscadine And Vinifera
Muscadine Versus Vinifera
For those living in the south, Muscadine wine is a very familiar commodity. However, as
popular as it is, Vinifera wine is also rather popular. Both wines are fantastic and provide wine
drinkers a unique tasting experience. If you are planning an event and trying to decide between
Muscadine and Vinifera wines, here are some of the differences you can expect to see.
Muscadine Wine
Muscadine Wine is made from the Muscadine grape. These grapes have vines with textured foliage
and are extremely colorful. The skins of these grapes are extremely thick and range in color from
green or bronze to black or dark purple when they are ripe an. They are also typically grown during
the fall months of September and October.

Many people even make their own Muscadine wine at home from grapes that grow on their
property or that they purchase. This creates a home grown wine that is like nothing else you will

Vinifera
When comparing Vinifera wines to Muscadine, you won t find many similarities. These wines are
European style white wines that are sophisticated and versatile. Until the 1960s, these wines
remained a European wine, but now they are also grown and produced in the United States.
There are many types of wines that fall into the Vinifera family. For example, one of the most
popular is Chardonnay. This is a hardy wine that offers high quality and great flavor. Another
popular option is white Riesling. This is another wine that is a high quality wine and it is usually
considered sweeter than other wines.
Pinot blanc is a white wine that originally came from places in Germany and France. It is similar
to Chardonnay both in flavor and boldness. Pinot gris is another interesting wine that falls into this
family. One of the things people like about this wine is that it is a great complement or alternative
for Chardonnay and white

poem. The poet is telling young virgins that they need to hurry up and get married because they
do not have much time. Then be not coy, but use your time, and while ye may, go marry

Code Of Vehicle Transmission Essay
The transmission in your vehicle is what allows you to shift from one gear to the next as you
drive. It is one of the most important components of your vehicle. Without your transmission, you
would be stuck in neutral, unable to engage your engine and get anywhere. As a new driver, there
are a few things you can do to extend the life of your transmissionby reducing the wear and tear that
you put it through on a daily basis.
Let Your Vehicle Warm Up
Whenever it is cold outside, you need to give your vehicle time to warm up before you get on
the road. By allowing your vehicle to warm up for at least five minutes on a cold day, you allow
your engine to get hot and you allow the fluids inside of your engine and your transmission to start
flowing. When you start moving too soon on a cold day, the fluid in your vehicle doesn t get the
time it needs to warm up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Revving up your engine like you are getting ready to jump off the start line is not good for your
transmission. This allows absolutely no time for the fluid in your transmission to start flowing and
lubricating all of its parts. When you rev up your engine, you force your car to jump into action
without giving it the time it needs to get ready.
Stop Before Your Reverse
Your transmission is responsible for shifting from one gear to the next. When you need to reverse,
make sure that you come to a complete stop before you throw your vehicle into reverse. You
should also make sure that you are stopped before you put your vehicle back into drive.
When you don t stop your vehicle before you reverse, your transmission has to leap from whatever
gear it is in to reverse. The same idea applies when going from reverse to drive. This process is a lot
easier on your vehicle when it is able to go from neutral to reverse. It wears down on your
transmission less. This small change in your driving style will extend the life of your

The second paragraph describes the fact that all firms worked directly with customer relationships,
and created additional value for both their customers and themselves during the 80 s.
During the 90 s firms realized that customers do not solely interact with the marketing department,
but with all the organization. However this strategy disappeared because it was very expensive and
tedious to maintain.
This was the end of Relationship Management, but with the introduction of more advance
technologies it has come back with a new name, Customer Relationship Management.

Rebreathing Carbon Dioxide Graph Lab Report
Comparing my Rebreathing Carbon Dioxide graph to my peers, I noticed that we all share an
increase in both the breathing rate and depth. Talking to my peers, I noticed that we all mutually
had the pressure of the pressure cuff go down once we finished this experiment. This release of
pressure most likely occurred because during the different intervals breathing normally, holding our
breaths, slowly breathing, and breathing through the Ziploc bag the kPa, or unit of pressure,
gradually decreased. The relationship between breathing rate and breathing depth is that they
strongly influence HRV, or heartrate variability. This is most efficient because the tidal volume
decreases as heart rate does too, although the changes are insignificant. For example, when you
exercise, both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This might have happened because as we breathe normally, At the start of C, E was more
staggered, as it differed from person to person. For some, their breathing rate shot up, while for
others, their breathing rate went down. These staggered results could be because we held out
breaths for a minute and a half, where one s heart rate would increase. This is because the body
desires to get rid of the carbon dioxide accumulating in the lung s alveoli and to take in more oxygen
so that more and more body cells can get the nutrients they need to properly function. The blood
pH levels in B decreases as we hold our breaths because of an increase in hydrogen ions and
carbon dioxide in the blood. The pH of blood in D decreases as we rebreathe the carbon dioxide
because the carbon dioxide building up in our lungs is trying to be exhaled and the oxygen in the
body are trying to reach the body cells or the lungs. An increase in breathing rate, such as in D,
decreases the level of carbon dioxide concentration and increases oxygen concentration, thus causing
a decrease in hydrogen

How Does Alvarez Show Courage In The Time Of The Butterflies
In the Time of the Butterflies Essay A lot of courage is needed to revolt against a dictator and
risk one s life, and possibly other s lives for a country. In the novel, In the Time of the Butterflies,
by Julia Alvarez, Minerva Mirabal (one of 4 sisters in the story) shows a lot of courage by standing
up against her country s leader, Rafael Trujillo, and for what is right, risking her and her family s
lives. She performs in front of him, while knowing his secret, that he is a horrible dictator that
abuses his power, she slaps him at a party and them leaves, which is illegal, and she protects her

situation, and is building up her strength and bravery as we move along in the novel. In the final

to protect the Mirabal sisters. She will do all she can to keep them alive... ... (do) you think I ll let
anything happen to the butterflies? They ll have to kill me first. (Alvarez 269). Her heroism and
willingness to protect her sisters, over protecting just herself, comes out in this chapter. And though
she cannot save her sisters, she stayed with them, protecting them to the very end. The last we

of the story, we are not fully sure what happened. We do know that Minerva said they have to kill

Mate Selection In Asian-American Culture
A prompt literature review reveals the glaring cultural disparities between Asian and Western
societies. The Asian American community originates from Asia and thus first generation Asian
Americans mostly bear and abide to Asian norms and customs (Geary, 2004). These norms and
customs especially apply to the institution of marriage and processes that entail it such as mate
selection and preferences. Nevertheless, parental influence feature prominently in mate selection
practices across a majority of Asian American communities. This is through homogamy tendencies
in parents or long held familial traditions. Within families, the role of female members is especially
pivotal in determining the dating and marriage lives of family members. Falcon... Show more

The most important of factors in this practice are the preferences of those selecting mates. Mate
preferences have a scientific importance for several reasons. Mate preferences for instance
determine whoever is chosen or excluded. This therefore influences the current direction of sexual
selection. Mate preferences also determine which members of the opposite sex are high or low in
value. In turn, this influences various variables ranging from social status and desirability of the
selected mate. The mate preferences of one sex also conversely influence retention techniques
effective on members of the other gender. Such tactics substantiate the wants of the person, one is
attempting to retain or attract. Another importance of mate preferences is the fact that some of
them might be adaptations that might have psychologically developed over time. Such
preferences represent crucial solutions to fundamental mating challenges such as selecting a
fertile mate or one able and willing to invest in an offspring. The preferences of one s mate might
also reveal crucial cultural values that when interrogated over a certain period of time document
the evolution of various cultural values (Chang, 2010). As such, mate preference is the first step in
the process of mate selection which aptly determines one s choice of a mate. As such, it is
impossible to understand mate selection in a certain population without understanding patterns in
mate preferences. Mate preferences are especially important in Asian cultures where they are
traditionally passed on from one generation to the other. As one grows older, the preferred mates
by parents are passed on. As such, one eventually chooses a mate who is more or less agreeable to
the entire family. As such, it is imperative to approach and understand the process of mate selection
as an interactive process that is subject to disparate factors and circumstances (Chang,

Why We Should Be More Open Minded
What if I told you someone took $20 from cash register at Wal Mart how would you feel/think?
Would you look down on them? Would you be mad that they just took the money while you go
to work and earn your money? Would you feel sorry for them? Now what if I told you that
person owns the store and was going to give the money to a family who was homeless? Would
your opinion change about that person? When people are closed minded, they jump to
conclusions. They only believe that there is only one answer or solutions. More people should
be more opened minded because they are willing to receive new or different ideas, information,
and beliefs. I am going to talk about why it is a problem being closed minded, how to be more
open minded, and why you should be more open minded. Most of us are brought up with a set of
beliefs and values and, throughout our lives, tend to surround ourselves with people who share
the same values and beliefs. Therefore, it can be difficult when we re faced with ideas that
challenge our own and, though we may wish to be open minded, we may struggle with the act of
it from time to time.(Positively present) The problem with being closed minded is they use
hostility, prejudice, indifference, and inattention to keep new or different ideas from gaining a
foothold. Basically they don t try to let new ideas or beliefs cross their minds. Also people who
are closed minded don t want to learn or change their opinion on certain beliefs. They like to think

The Shawl by Cynthia Ozick is short story in which a mother, her child, and her niece are
described as they walk through a concentration camp during the Holocaust. This work is well
known for its prominent use of figurative language. For a story about the Holocaust, it may seem
odd as to why this language was used instead of a factual style of writing which is common in
these types of stories. Ozick uses figurative language excessively in attempt to describe such a
horrific situation. Some may criticize the author and even take offense to the way the story was
written, but it does not have the same effect when told differently. Most accounts of the Holocaust
are hard to comprehend, even for those who experienced it themselves. Ozick stated in an interview
that even if everyone were to spend the next five thousand years absorbing and assimilating the
documents, it still... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the story, it is used to protect, shield, and comfort Magda. She is described by Ozick
as a squirrel in a nest, safe where no one could reach her inside the little house of the shawl s
windings. Magda seems to oddly be completely shielded from the surrounding horror of the
holocaust. Stella openly envies Magda, not just because of her innocence, but also for her eyes
that were blue tigers (Ozick). Later in the story it is realized that not even it can protect her. This
shows how helpless the Jews and other minorities felt as they approached their inevitable death.
In the last paragraph this is even further displayed. Rosa goes through scenarios in which she
could save Magda, but no matter what she decides to do, someone will get hurt or killed. After
witnessing the horrifying death of her child, Rosa attempts to escape everything by sucking on the
shawl just as Magda did. This is a symbol of a longing for innocence. However, as seen with what
happened to Magda, nothing could save anyone from this

Child Atrocities
GONE are the days when children were considered as gifts from God and women were revered as
mothers and sisters. Now girl children have sadly become lucrative business options for many in
India s most literate state.
The alarming rise in the number of child rape cases is a pointer in that direction. Children as young
as 4 years are being raped and brutally killed and the convicts walk free for want of evidence or
exploiting the shoddy rape laws.
As many as 174 cases of rape of the minor girls were registered with the police during the six
month period from January to June 2011, according to figures released by the state police. The
number is very high compared to last few years. The number during the 12 month period in 2010
was 208 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on the information we rescued the girls.
As per the information available with us, these girls are from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and
Mumbai, Sethi said.
Reportedly, one girl is 17 years old, the rest are around 12 and 13 years. The girls were brought
to Delhi about ten days ago. We are yet to question them on their living conditions as they are still
scared and unable to talk, said Geet adding that the girls will now be taken for a medical
examination.
Meanwhile, Addl DCP (Central) Aslam Khan said, The eight girls were rescued by Rescue
Foundation . We will conduct an ossification test to ascertain their age. They will presently be sent
to the Nirmal Chhaya home care .
Police said the kotha is owned by one Shakuntala and managed by one Jayshree. Police said the
girls will first be questioned and based on their statements, action will be taken against the owner
and the manager
Rangu Souriya grew up in Darjeeling. Among her several childhood memories, she remembers
clearly how young girls in and around Darjeeling used to go missing. Many of them who lived in
the tea gardens and also in the villages were lured by jobs and were trafficked, never to return.
Among her recent memories, she vividly recollects how in 2006, for the first time she rescued a 13
year old girl from Delhi, where she was working as a domestic help. Souriya says the girl, who was
taken there on the pretext of job and had

Analysis Of Gorman Beauchamp s Article, Technology
In Gorman Beauchamp s article, Technology in the Dystopian Novel, he writes: collectivism and
technology, that is, are mutually exclusive (56). Collectivism is defined as: the practice or
principle of giving a group priority over each individual in it. This idea is incredibly relevant in
today s society. Our world, because of modern technology, has become incredibly individualistic.
Cell phones, personal computers, tablets, and other personal technological devices have all been
created with the intent to improve communication and connecting individuals in a much easier
fashion. Devices are customized to the individual making it more in sync with the individual. While
these devices have contributed overall in creating a more globalized world, individual cultures,
especially in the United States, no longer have the group priority Beauchamp was referring to. This
becomes extremely apparent in the youth of today s societies. Distractions from cell phones
continually disrupt the cohesion in the classroom, playground, and in the homes. Because of the
frequency of use on these personal devices, interpersonal communication is greatly hindered.
Interpersonal skills are important for a culture to thrive and to be successful. It is unknown what
kind of effects technology will have in the long run towards face to face communications and
interpersonal relationships. The sciencefiction book series, Divergent, has an interesting solution for
what happens when societies let technology

Mutual Relationships With Mutual Relationship
There is a lot of different opinions when it comes to having a mutual relationship with a male and
female without it being anything more. Many believe that this is not right because they feel as
though that no man and woman could possibly be friends without any feelings involved in the
relationship. This view is often associated with the person who has a significant other that has a
close friend that is of the opposite sex. Others who have friends that are of the opposite sex feel as
though nothing is wrong with it because they are used to it. I feel as though this topic is rooted to
the fact that it is only for the people that are mature, it is important for people on both sides to be
mature and have clear intentions with both the friend... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, people argue that a heterosexual male and female couldn t be friends because it often
ends with them starting a relationship even if they were friends with the person while they had a
significant other. I have also seen this happen where a friend of mines was friends with a girl that
had a boyfriend and he also had a girlfriend but now they were so close that their friendship has
turned into a relationship. I feel as though if everyone knows the other persons intention it will be
less difficult, even though sometimes their intentions often change.
Communicating with a person of the opposite sex about how you feel emotionally often helps
because something you would not feel comfortable with just venting to the same sex. Although
men seem strong and nothing ever phases them it is important to have a friend for emotional
support. Often men go through things that hit them emotionally and it is better to have a female
to vent to rather than another male. This is shown when someone loses a family or a tragic
situation of that sort, sure your buddies can give you a word of encouragement but to tell someone
how you feel deep down inside it is helpful to have a female to talk to. Often women are more
comfortable to talk to than a guy about something a male is going through on an emotional level.
Emotionally, females feel as though men create a safer environment because often times it is hard
for them to trust their

Smallpox Is An Acute Contagious Disease
SMALLPOX Introduction Smallpox is an acute contagious disease that is caused by the variola
virus which is a member of the Genus Orthopoxvirus family. It infects humans only as a result of
its ability to escape the host immune system, and avoid any further activation (Koplow 2003).
The virus is a two stranded DNA virus. There exist two forms of the variola virus namely the
variola major and variola minor. Variola major is the one that is lethal, while variola minor is not
lethal but a mere strain. The most common strain is the variola major, which produces the more
severe symptoms and with a higher fatality rate of 20% to 40%, within a week of infection
(Koplow 2003). Key features of the life cycle(s) The initial step is whereby the virus attaches to the
host cell and infects an individual. It normally enters through the respiratory system. It attaches to
the mouth, trachea or lung mucosa. The cells forming the mucous membrane are loosely packed
hence permitting penetration and movement into the saliva. Once the virus reaches the cell
membrane, it penetrates through endocytosis. In the host cell, the main protein in released
(Koplow 2003). The virus replicates in the cytoplasm of the host cell. DNA replication and
transcription may start immediately as the virus itself contains enzymes for replication and
transcription. It does not rely on the host cell enzymes to begin replication (Koplow 2003). First,
the DNA and RNA polymerase are made, along with other transcription

  • 2. Classroom Reflection Analysis For the final part of the project, me and the other students, plus the teachers and aides met in the classroom on Monday morning to reflect on the project. During the final round table teachers expressed some concern with communication. I think they felt like it was difficult to communicate with us students since they did not have any contact information from us. A great suggestion was made during the meeting to make a google document that would include all of our contact information as well as updates and information about the all the children who the teachers were concerned about. I feel like this would be beneficial for both the students and the teachers in order to contact each other more easily and to get updates on the children efficiently. During the course of the semester, I felt like the students and the teachers were not on the same page due to the issues of contacting each other. For instance, when me and partner would get to the preschool we sometimes would be unable to fully observe or coach during our time due to other activities happening in the classroom. For example, one time me and my partner came and an employee from the public library was there for her weekly reading activity. I felt a little surprised by this novel situation, but my partner and I would try and adjust our plan to make it feasible to the new situation. Another issue the teachers had was determining what time works best for us students to come in and observe or coach. Our teacher Jihan did not limit us too much on our times, except when they were on field trips. Other teachers noted that they had specific times for students to come in, and they felt overwhelmed by the amount of students. They described the situations to be somewhat difficult to discuss the children they were concerned about or how the strategies were working for them. Hearing the teachers talk about when would be the best time for students to come in reminded me that they have a lot to take into consideration when planning. For instance, they need to take into account which and how many children will be in their classroom since some arrive late and some leave early. They need to take into account how much help they will need to prepare or clean up an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

D.E.A. also cooperates with many major law enforcement agencies such as federal, state, local, and overseas law enforcement agencies to stop criminals from smuggling drugs in our territory and help the people from getting involved with drugs. The United States have declared that it is doing its best to combat the war on drugs. The drug problem has not stopped and the people continue to buy drugs no matter what circumstances they are obtained. With drugs prices rising, people are willing do anything to get drugs even if it leads them to become involved in criminal activities such as robbery. The money and military activity have not been enough, and the urban problem, has not been resolved. The United States has the largest demand of drugs in the world. While other countries also face the drug problem, the United States has spent the most money and law enforcement; however, its effectiveness is questionable. Consequently, now there is a great amount of drugs coming from Mexico s borderline into the United States. The drug cartels have become more violent, killing Mexican officers and innocent people in order to smuggle their drugs. The United States needs more security control and better coordination between agencies to fight the violent Mexican drug war spilling across the southern border. There is not enough organization between the D.E.A and other groups such as the Department of Homeland Security. The United States has little hope of winning the war unless enough protection on the border and Border States are developed. • 4. Cultural Revolution Mao A revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall Evaluate the accuracy of this statement in relation to the causes of the Chinese cultural revolution A revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall. This statement by Che Guevara suggests that in order for a revolution to occur, the leaders must not hesitate, but rather, they should take immediate and effective actions. This quote is particularly accurate for the Chinese Cultural Revolution, because the main leader of the Revolution Mao Zedong was able to manipulate the public, thus enabling him to bring about a revolution. The Cultural Revolution occurred as a result of the failures in the Great Leap Forward, and officially, Mao claimed that the goal of the Chinese Cultural Revolution is to build a society surrounding the proletariats by bringing back revolutionary spirit. However, it became increasingly clear that Mao s real intentions were rather personal, as he used the Cultural Revolution to re establish his power as the Chairman of the Communist Party of China. The Cultural Revolution was Mao s response to the disasters of the Great Leap Forward, during which at least 30 million Chinese people starved to death in the span of 5 years (Ben Walsh). In 1959, Mao admitted that I also have an indirect share of the blame... I don t want other people to shirk their responsibility. (Phillip Short). This suggests that even though Mao was aware that his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Critchfields basis for this is that both are both professions, but are different professions, science and practice, with different concerns and therefore should be kept separate in order for each to succeed in their own way. It is to my knowledge that both must coexist to better understand the issues that ABS typically faces. According to Bales (2012) Chritchfield s ideas deem to be a misguided idea. Bales stated that while the two professions may be different it is important to remember that there are individuals who engage in both science and practice. It is impossible to say that these two parts are so separate from each other that they need to flourish in different environments. This could cause translational research to become nonexistent and lead use back to simple basic research and research that is for the sole purpose of helping the people with no care taken to flourish the field. It utilizes discovery and scientific thinking process to explore and learn knowledge and skills. Learning by doing is the new efficient method in teaching science. For kindergarten, this method leads to better understanding of science concepts and builds skills that children will use in future life .What a child can do with assistance now, they can later do on their own (Vygotsky, 1978). John Dewey (1916) stated that children must be engaged in an active quest for learningand new ideas. Inquiry is important in educating kindergarteners because it not only keeps them interested in lessons but also helps them retain more information when performing exploration and investigation. Children are naturally motivated to learn and actively seek out information to help their understanding (Piaget, 1950).The success of students who participate in hands on inquiry activities suggests that if students have first hands experience with science, concepts are easier to understand and apply and students are generally more favorable to science and have better understanding of the nature of science .Within a conceptual framework, inquiry learning and active learner involvement can lead to important outcomes in the classroom. Gsm ( Global System For Mobile Communication Acknowledgement At first I want to express gratitude to the Almighty Allah for his endless kindness to give me the chance to work under tremendous supervision of my honorable teacher Dr. Arshad M. Chowdhury to give me the opportunity to work on an enormous task. Objective: GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) is a digital mobile telephony system which is TDMA based wireless network technology developed widely in Europe and other parts of the world. GSM uses a variation of time division multiple access (TDMA) and is the most widely used of the three digital wireless telephony technologies (TDMA, GSM, and CDMA). GSM digitizes and compresses data, then sends it down a channel with two other streams of user data, each in its own time slot. GSM phones make use of a SIM card to identify the user s account. The use of the SIM card allows GSM network users to quickly move their phone number from one GSM phone to another by simply moving the SIM card. Currently GSM networks operate on the 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, and 1900MHz frequency bands. Devices that support all four bands are called quad band, with those that support 3 or 2 bands called tri band and dual band, respectively. Let Your Vehicle Warm Up Whenever it is cold outside, you need to give your vehicle time to warm up before you get on the road. By allowing your vehicle to warm up for at least five minutes on a cold day, you allow your engine to get hot and you allow the fluids inside of your engine and your transmission to start flowing. Talking to my peers, I noticed that we all mutually had the pressure of the pressure cuff go down once we finished this experiment. This release of pressure most likely occurred because during the different intervals breathing normally, holding our breaths, slowly breathing, and breathing through the Ziploc bag the kPa, or unit of pressure, gradually decreased. The relationship between breathing rate and breathing depth is that they strongly influence HRV, or heartrate variability. For some, their breathing rate shot up, while for others, their breathing rate went down. This is because the body desires to get rid of the carbon dioxide accumulating in the lung s alveoli and to take in more oxygen so that more and more body cells can get the nutrients they need to properly function. The blood pH levels in B decreases as we hold our breaths because of an increase in hydrogen ions and carbon dioxide in the blood. The pH of blood in D decreases as we rebreathe the carbon dioxide because the carbon dioxide building up in our lungs is trying to be exhaled and the oxygen in the body are trying to reach the body cells or the lungs. The Asian American community originates from Asia and thus first generation Asian Americans mostly bear and abide to Asian norms and customs (Geary, 2004). The most important of factors in this practice are the preferences of those selecting mates. Mate preferences have a scientific importance for several reasons. Mate preferences for instance determine whoever is chosen or excluded. This therefore influences the current direction of sexual selection. Mate preferences also determine which members of the opposite sex are high or low in value. In turn, this influences various variables ranging from social status and desirability of the selected mate. The mate preferences of one sex also conversely influence retention techniques effective on members of the other gender. Such tactics substantiate the wants of the person, one is attempting to retain or attract. Another importance of mate preferences is the fact that some of them might be adaptations that might have psychologically developed over time. Such preferences represent crucial solutions to fundamental mating challenges such as selecting a fertile mate or one able and willing to invest in an offspring. The preferences of one s mate might also reveal crucial cultural values that when interrogated over a certain period of time document the evolution of various cultural values (Chang, 2010). As such, mate preference is the first step in the process of mate selection which aptly determines one s choice of a mate. As such, it is impossible to understand mate selection in a certain population without understanding patterns in mate preferences. Mate preferences are especially important in Asian cultures where they are traditionally passed on from one generation to the other. As one grows older, the preferred mates by parents are passed on. As such, one eventually chooses a mate who is more or less agreeable to the entire family. As such, it is imperative to approach and understand the process of mate selection as an interactive process that is subject to disparate factors and circumstances (Chang, ... What Is Cynthia Ozick Use Of Figurative Language In The Shawl The Shawl by Cynthia Ozick is short story in which a mother, her child, and her niece are described as they walk through a concentration camp during the Holocaust. For a story about the Holocaust, it may seem odd as to why this language was used instead of a factual style of writing which is common in these types of stories. Ozick uses figurative language excessively in attempt to describe such a horrific situation. Analysis Of Gorman Beauchamp s Article, Technology In Gorman Beauchamp s article, Technology in the Dystopian Novel, he writes: collectivism and technology, that is, are mutually exclusive (56). Collectivism is defined as: the practice or principle of giving a group priority over each individual in it. This idea is incredibly relevant in today s society. Our world, because of modern technology, has become incredibly individualistic. Cell phones, personal computers, tablets, and other personal technological devices have all been created with the intent to improve communication and connecting individuals in a much easier fashion. Devices are customized to the individual making it more in sync with the individual. While these devices have contributed overall in creating a more globalized world, individual cultures, especially in the United States, no longer have the group priority Beauchamp was referring to. This becomes extremely apparent in the youth of today s societies. Distractions from cell phones continually disrupt the cohesion in the classroom, playground, and in the homes. Because of the frequency of use on these personal devices, interpersonal communication is greatly hindered. Interpersonal skills are important for a culture to thrive and to be successful. It is unknown what kind of effects technology will have in the long run towards face to face communications and interpersonal relationships. It infects humans only as a result of its ability to escape the host immune system, and avoid any further activation (Koplow 2003). The virus is a two stranded DNA virus. There exist two forms of the variola virus namely the variola major and variola minor. Variola major is the one that is lethal, while variola minor is not lethal but a mere strain. The most common strain is the variola major, which produces the more severe symptoms and with a higher fatality rate of 20% to 40%, within a week of infection (Koplow 2003). Key features of the life cycle(s) The initial step is whereby the virus attaches to the host cell and infects an individual. It normally enters through the respiratory system. It attaches to the mouth, trachea or lung mucosa. The cells forming the mucous membrane are loosely packed hence permitting penetration and movement into the saliva. Once the virus reaches the cell membrane, it penetrates through endocytosis. In the host cell, the main protein in released (Koplow 2003). The virus replicates in the cytoplasm of the host cell.
