1. Idea 1
1. Your working title
‘Dreamscan come true’
I chose thistitle because Ifeel likeitdescribesthe filmbasesreallywell andgivesagoodover
viewof the filmscontent. The whole ideaisabouta girl’sdreamcomingtrue butnot inthe
original way.So, the title fitsthe narrative reallywell withoutgivingtoomuchaway. I alsolike
the title because itsrolesof the tongue andis remember-able because of the well-knownsong
‘dreams’byGabrielle,whichisahit songfromthe early90’s.
2. Lengthof shortfilm
The predicted lengthof myshortfilmwill be between5-8minutes.
I thinkthisisa goodlengthof time because itwon’tmake the filmdrag meaningitwon’tget
boring.Havingitthislengthof time will enableme tofocusmore on the qualityandeffectsof
the filmas I onlyhave a limitedtimetoeditandproduce the film.Thiswill hopefulencourage
the meaningof the filmtocome acrossstronger as I’ll be able to focus more precisely onthe
small meaningful segmentsof the filmandthe editingwillalsohopefully be of higherquality.
3. Logline/tagline
‘Don’tstopdreaming.You neverknow whatmighthappen!?’
I have come up withthisideaformy logline as itaddsmore mysteryto the title of the film.Ithas
a directlinkto the title byusingthe word‘dreams’inboth,butextendsonthe audience’s
theoriesandknowledge aboutthe filmfromthe title.‘Don’tstopdreaming’suggeststhat a
dreamcouldhave beendreamtfora longtime andthe individual wassopassionate andstuck
on thisdreamnothingelse evercrossedtheirmind,it’sliketheywantedthisdreamtohappen
so badly they’re notgoingtogive upon it until itbecomestrue andthey’ll doeverythingthey
possible cantopursue it.‘youneverknow whatmighthappen’relatestothe title andsupports
it exactly,as itsuggestingthatsome essence of the dreammust have come true or something
bettermightof evenhappened.Youknow thisbythe use of it beingarhetorical questiongetting
the audience tofinishesplottingand writingthe storythemselvesuntil theyseethe true outline
and narrative.Italsotellsyouthatthere is goingtobe more to the story thanan individual
dreamingandit comingtrue, itsuggestsit’s goingtocome true ina particularwayor maybe ina
differentwaytohowthe individual waswantingwhichcould’veendedupbetter. Overall, Ithink
thislogline reallysumsupthe shortfilmmakingitan easydecisiontowhether it’sgoingtosuit
certainaudiencesbeforetheystartwatchingitor evenreadingthe blurb.AnotherreasonIthink
it’sgoodbecause it’squite remember-able inthe essence itstwocommonsayingsmix together
creatinga catchy logline.
4. Introductionof keycharacters

6. Target audience:
My targetaudience issecondaryschool age andolder(11+). I’m havingsucha wide spreadof
audience age because Ithinkthe message couldmeansomethingdifferenttoeveryone fromall
classesanderas.AlthoughIwould like toreachall audiences,Ifeel likethe mainviewersare
goingto be teenage girls,Ithinkthisbecause dancingappealstogirlsmore. Also, girlsare more
openand expressiveabouttheirfeelingsandprivate ambitions; so, the title havingthe word
‘dreams’initwouldautomatically appealtogirlsand be a turnoff for majorityof boys. Within
the NRS scale myaudience wouldfall betweenA throughtoE. I thinkthisbecause everyonein
everyclasshasa dreamthat theywantto come true so inHines sightitshouldappeal to
everyone.
7. Form andstyle:
I am planningonshootingthisfilmintwodifferentstyles;ambientlightingwithayellow tint.
Thiswill be forthe dreamingpart of the film, whenthe girl isdancing onstage.I am planningon
doingthisbecause Ifeel byhavingthe yellow tint it’ll giveitadream like effectasits hazy and
dull/subtle,givingasleepyfeel,Ialsomighttryto make these scenesoutof focusand blurryas
well asthiswill addto the dreamingeffectandmake the filmeasiertofollow. The otherstyle
I’mgoingto use is stage lightingandbightnatural lookinglights. I’musingthisforthe scenes
where it’sheractual life and she’slivingnormally. I’musingthisstyleforthese scenesas it’s
brightand focuses onwhat’sreal, byit beingnatural lighting onanatural event.
8. Market place:
I believethisfilmwill dowell inthe marketerespeciallyforteensandonsocial media.Thisis
because of the hiddenmeaning, the storyline andnarrative,Ithinkit’ll be well sharedover
Facebookandtwittermeaningitwill reachmore peopleanda wideraudience asawiderrange
of people will come acrossit.OnYouTube thiswill gofar inthe short filmareaas it hasa
meaningthat’ll appeal tolotsof people andevenhasaneducational background,‘tonevergive
up’what I can imagine teachersusinginassemblies.
