SCENE 1: INT. JAS’ HOUSE, BED ROOM – NIGHT
We are in a small narrow bedroom at JAS’ house- Affordably
furnished but doesn’t look cheap. The back of the room is
dominated by a regular sized window facing onto the back
garden which is pitch black considering its night out. The
bottommost part of the wall is cover by the ‘head’ width of
a single bed on the right side and a side facing chest of
draws on the left leaving a small walk way between both
items. All four walls in the room are cornflower white.
On the left wall there’s a TV hung above the chest of draws
and moving along the wall closer to the entry there’s a
large mirror pitched to the grey wall paint, decorated with
fairy lights and a couple of ornaments hung to the left
side. The carpet is warn and grey with a royal purple rug
placed in the isle between the bed and draws.
This is where we start to see JAS as the opening shoot
focusing on her feet position. She’s stood in first
position (ballet movement) and proceeds to bend her legs
and excel on to the tip of her toes making tiny step on the
same spot. We see this through the reflection of the mirror
where the bedroom decorations behind her are vivid but came
across bleared so we can focus on JAS’ posture. We don’t
necessarily realise that were looking through a mirror at
this point.
We now see JAS’ real completion and the mirror reflection
in the same shoot watching her uphold her dance, wearing
fuzzy socks scrunched around her bare ankles, making the
dance seem less elegant and emphasizing she’s in a casual
environment.
Her whole body is in shot- JAS is brushing her long bleach
blond hair with a black panel brush, continuing with
pointe, wearing cotton grey pajama top and velvet pink
shorts covered in little silver starts. Her cheeks pink and
rosy from previously washing her face.
JAS takes a sudden pirouette changing her direction to the
window at the back of the room and placing the brush on the
desk located directly in front of the mirror, at the foot
of the bed. The brush was positioned next to a cup of
stationary and box of tissues making a soft smack on the
surface.

Beginning to dance down to the head of her bed, we follow
JAS’ simple footsteps as she taps her feet and throws her
arms around.
As the camera follows JAS it catches 3 big prints of her on
stage in the middle of a jump within a set choreography,
and two with JAS and friends with medals after a dance
competition (JAS being the only one without a trophy) on
the photos on the right grey wall, slightly above the bed.
They’re located under 3 strings hanging high upon the wall,
all with mini printed pictures pegged to it full of various
memories from the last few years, and in-between a couple
of selves positioned left side half way down the wall and a
vertical box self on the right side of the wall.
We see each of these big prints in detail as the camera
slowly pans though them one by one.
This is where we see JAS climbing into bed and pulling the
grey thick duvet over herself. She stretches out of the
side of her bed under the duvet and grabs the cable of her
table top light, clicking the switch, the room proceeds to
darkness.

SCENE 2 INT. ROYAL ALBER HALL, STAGE – COMPETITION DAY TIME
A harsh stage light comes on from the corner of the black
screen, gradually filling the screen with light, showing
JAS looking lost on a stage wonder where she was. Spinning
in circles taking in her surroundings. The stage was big
with a wooden floor that had a slight spring to it. There
was giant heavy red show curtains pulled shut.
The curtains started to open revealing a massive crowed
staring, eyes fixed tight on her, like she was expected to
do something. They were all dressed in their Sunday best,
sitting silently waiting in row and rows of chairs. There
was a desk of judges to the left hand side of the stage, in
front of the first row of audience- ready with their pens
and paper to cretic her. Realising she was in her show case
leotard- a black tight swimsuit looking piece with white
tights and her hair in fixed in a tight bun. Reality kicked
in and she realized where she was and her purpose in this

situation. Clarifying her theory-the music for her showcase
came on- “hold on” by extreme music.
It was time, running back into her position, JAS crouched
to the floor and waited for the beat to drop in the music
and give her, her clue to start dancing.
She dances (for 1.5 minutes), just as she had been
practicing for the last 4 months. Executing every step and
move- she was performing the best shed every done it.
We see the crowed looking amazed watching her dancing,
passionately putting her heart and soul into every move.
They were leaning towards the stage eyes fixed on her
graceful body as she leap from side to side, it was like
they were hypnotized. Cutting to the judges also looking
very impressed- not able to write any negative comments
down.
JAS carries on dancing (for another 2.5 minutes) …
She navigates into her final position as the music falls
onto its last chord and drops to silence. JAS is crouched
to the flour panting and sweating. Hearing an around of
applause and feet standing ready to give a standing
ovation. JAS looks up and is amazed at the reaction that
was perceived, for the first time out of all her
competitions.
The camera spins back round to the stage where we she JAS
getting awarded by the presenter with a 1st place trophy- a
tall gold design with a ballerina dancing on the top of it,
suggesting that she won the competition.
The screen fades to black as the light turns towards the
rear of the stage.
Stays black.
SCENE 3 INT. JAS’ HOUSE, BED ROOM – EARLY MORNING
Black
But now we see from JAS’ prospective as she’s waking up and
her eyes are opening. The shot is blurry and hazed as we
start to see the layout of her bed room once more but in
the natural light of the sun (its early in the morning
around 7 and the sun is rising). Still within the hazed
shot, JAS catches out of the corner of her eye the trophy
she won in her dream on her bedside cabinet. Blinking

heavily as if she’s doesn’t believe what is in front of her
(still seeing from Jas’s prospective.)
We now she JAS lying in bed reopening her eyes to re-see
the trophy sat on the cabinet. Intensely rubbing her eyes
and relooking at the trophy - realizing it was real.
The shot finishes by zooming into the trophy.
