EQUIPMENTS
   1 Transfer belt
   2 Wheel chair
1. Follow the common steps

   Identify patient
   Explain procedure
   Elevate bed level
   Check connection can interferes
   Provide privacy
4. Position chair facing head or
foot of bed
3. Lock wheel of chair and bed
4. Raise head of bed to
    sitting position
5. If client can bear weight, full
assistance not needed: standby
       for safety as needed.
6. If client can bear weight
partially only, use stand & pivot
(turn) technique.
7. The nurse should face client
with feet comfortably apart
and a broad base of support
8. Assist client to sitting position.
Have client use arm next to
mattress and push while you help
lift upper body as client's legs
swing over the edge of the bed
9. Apply transfer or gait belt
        with handles
10. Assist client with putting
slippers or shoes and placing
     feet flat on the floor
11. Spread feet apart. Flex hips
& knees, aligning knees with
client's knees
12. Grasp gait belt at handles
13. Rock client up to standing
position on count of three while
straightening hips & legs. Instruct
client to use hands to push up
14. Once standing, pivot client
toward seat of chair. Have client
 then reach for arm of chair and
assist with easing self into chair
15. Flex hips and knees while
  lowering client into chair
16. Adjust the patient in chair
