A Framework for Traffic Planning and Forecasting using Micro-Simulation Calib...ITIIIndustries
This paper presents the application of microsimulation for traffic planning and forecasting, and proposes a new framework to model complex traffic conditions by calibrating and adjusting traffic parameters of a microsimulation model. By using an open source micro-simulator package, TRANSIMS, in this study, animated and numerical results were produced and analysed. The framework of traffic model calibration was evaluated for its usefulness and practicality. Finally, we discuss future applications such as providing end users with real time traffic information through Intelligent Transport System (ITS) integration.

Road2Vec: Measuring Traffic Interactions in Urban Road System from Massive Tr...Song Gao
Good characterization of traffic interactions among urban roads can facilitate traffic-related applications, such as traffic control and short-term forecasting. Most studies measure the traffic interaction between two roads by their topological distance or the correlation between their traffic variables. However, the distance-based methods neglect the spatial heterogeneity of roads’ traffic interactions, while the correlation-based methods cannot capture the non-linear dependency between two roads’ traffic variables. In this work, we propose a novel approach called Road2Vec to quantify the implicit traffic interactions among roads based on large-scale taxi operating route data using a Word2Vec model from the natural language processing (NLP) field. A case study on short-term traffic forecasting is conducted with artificial neural network (ANN) and support vector machine (SVM) algorithms to validate the advantages of the presented method. The results show that the forecasting achieves a higher accuracy with the support of the Road2Vec method than with the topological distance and traffic correlation based methods.
DEEP LEARNING NEURAL NETWORK APPROACHES TO LAND USE-DEMOGRAPHIC- TEMPORAL BA...civejjour
Land use and transportation planning are inter-dependent, as well as being important factors in forecasting urban development. In recent years, predicting traffic based on land use, along with several other variables, has become a worthwhile area of study. In this paper, it is proposed that Deep Neural Network Regression (DNN-Regression) and Recurrent Neural Network (DNN-RNN) methods could be used to predict traffic. These methods used three key variables: land use, demographic and temporal data. The proposed methods were evaluated with other methods, using datasets collected from the City of Calgary, Canada. The proposed DNN-Regression focused on demographic and land use variables for traffic prediction. The study also predicted traffic temporally in the same geographical area by using DNN-RNN. The DNN-RNN used long short-term memory to predict traffic. Comparative experiments revealed that the proposed DNN-Regression and DNN-RNN models outperformed other methods.

Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) have emerged recently as one of the most attractive topics for
researchers and automotive industries due to their tremendous potential to improve traffic safety, efficiency

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have seen tremendous growth in the last decade, providing a vast
range of applications in both military and civilian activities. The temporary connectivity in the vehicles can also
increase the driver’s capability on the road. However, such applications require heavy data packets to be shared on
the same spectrum without the requirement of excessive radios. Thus, e-client approaches are required which can
provide improved data dissemination along with the better quality of services to allow heavy traffic to be easily
shared between the vehicles. In this paper, an e-client data dissemination approach is proposed which not only
improves the vehicle to vehicle connectivity but also improves the QoS between the source and the destination. The
proposed approach is analyzed and compared with the existing state-of-the-art approaches. The effectiveness of the
proposed approach is demonstrated in terms of the significant gains attained in the parameters namely, end to end
delay, packet delivery ratio, route acquisition time, throughput, and message dissemination rate in comparison with
the existing approaches.
CREATING DATA OUTPUTS FROM MULTI AGENT TRAFFIC MICRO SIMULATION TO ASSIMILATI...csandit
The intensive development of traffic engineering and technologies that are integrated into
vehicles, roads and their surroundings, bring opportunities of real time transport mobility
modeling. Based on such model it is then possible to establish a predictive layer that is capable
of predicting short and long term traffic flow behavior. It is possible to create the real time
model of traffic mobility based on generated data. However, data may have different
geographical, temporal or other constraints, or failures. It is therefore appropriate to develop
tools that artificially create missing data, which can then be assimilated with real data. This
paper presents a mechanism describing strategies of generating artificial data using
microsimulations. It describes traffic microsimulation based on our solution of multiagent
framework over which a system for generating traffic data is built. The system generates data of
a structure corresponding to the data acquired in the real world.

Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. The Calculation HTML Code included.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.
Final project report on grocery store management system..pdfKamal Acharya
In today’s fast-changing business environment, it’s extremely important to be able to respond to client needs in the most effective and timely manner. If your customers wish to see your business online and have instant access to your products or services.
Online Grocery Store is an e-commerce website, which retails various grocery products. This project allows viewing various products available enables registered users to purchase desired products instantly using Paytm, UPI payment processor (Instant Pay) and also can place order by using Cash on Delivery (Pay Later) option. This project provides an easy access to Administrators and Managers to view orders placed using Pay Later and Instant Pay options.
In order to develop an e-commerce website, a number of Technologies must be studied and understood. These include multi-tiered architecture, server and client-side scripting techniques, implementation technologies, programming language (such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and MySQL relational databases. This is a project with the objective to develop a basic website where a consumer is provided with a shopping cart website and also to know about the technologies used to develop such a website.
This document will discuss each of the underlying technologies to create and implement an e- commerce website.
Quality defects in TMT Bars, Possible causes and Potential Solutions.PrashantGoswami42
Maintaining high-quality standards in the production of TMT bars is crucial for ensuring structural integrity in construction. Addressing common defects through careful monitoring, standardized processes, and advanced technology can significantly improve the quality of TMT bars. Continuous training and adherence to quality control measures will also play a pivotal role in minimizing these defects.

2014 IEEE JAVA PARALLEL DISTRIBUTED PROJECT Trajectory improves data delivery in urban vehicular networks

Trajectory Improves Data Delivery in Urban Vehicular
Networks
Abstract
Efficient data delivery is of great importance, but highly challenging for vehicular
networks because of frequent network disruption, fast topological change and
mobility uncertainty. The vehicular trajectory knowledge plays a key role in data
delivery. Existing algorithms have largely made predictions on the trajectory with
coarse-grained patterns such as spatial distribution or/and the inter-meeting time
distribution, which has led to poor data delivery performance. In this paper, we mine
the extensive data sets of vehicular traces from two large cities in China, i.e.,
Shanghai and Shenzhen, through conditional entropy analysis, we find that there
exists strong spatiotemporal regularity with vehicle mobility. By extracting mobility
patterns from historical vehicular traces, we develop accurate trajectory predictions
by using multiple order Markov chains. Based on an analytical model, we
theoretically derive packet delivery probability with predicted trajectories. We then
propose routing algorithms taking full advantage of predicted probabilistic vehicular
trajectories. Finally, we carry out extensive simulations based on three large data
sets of real GPS vehicular traces, i.e., Shanghai taxi data set, Shanghai bus data set
and Shenzhen taxi data set. The conclusive results demonstrate that our proposed
routing algorithms can achieve significantly higher delivery ratio at lower cost when
compared with existing algorithms.
