CROSS LAYER INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKIJNSA Journal
The wireless sensor networks (WSN) are particularly vulnerable to various attacks at different layers of the protocol stack. Many intrusion detection system (IDS) have been proposed to secure WSNs. But all these systems operate in a single layer of the OSI model, or do not consider the interaction and collaboration between these layers. Consequently these systems are mostly inefficient and would drain out the WSN. In this paper we propose a new intrusion detection system based on cross layer interaction between the network, Mac and physical layers. Indeed we have addressed the problem of intrusion detection in a different way in which the concept of cross layer is widely used leading to the birth of a new type of IDS. We have experimentally evaluated our system using the NS simulator to demonstrate its effectiveness in detecting different types of attacks at multiple layers of the OSI model.
Trust Providence in Delay Tolerant Networkstheijes
The network consists of several nodes, some nodes represents malicious and selfish behavior. This gives the heavy threat for the routing in Delay Tolerant networks(DTNs). The DTNs have unique characteristic so designing a misbehavior detection scheme is very difficult. The probabilistic misbehavior detection scheme that is iTrust, is established for secure routing in DTN. The iTrust introduces a Trusted Authority (TA) for detecting the node’s behavior. By collecting the routing evidences from the nodes the TA checks the node about its behavior then performs the appropriate actions for the behavior of nodes. TA gives the security of DTN routing at lower cost. The detection probability is correlated with a node’s reputation, this gives the dynamic detection probability based on the trust of users. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme is efficient for establishing trust with the DTNs.

Cluster Based Misbehaviour Detection and Authentication Using Threshold Crypt...CSCJournals
In mobile ad hoc networks, the misbehaving nodes can cause dysfunction in the network resulting in damage of other nodes. In order to establish secure communication with the group members of a network, use of a shared group key for confidentiality and authentication is required. Distributing the shares of secret group key to the group members securely is another challenging task in MANET. In this paper, we propose a Cluster Based Misbehavior Detection and Authentication scheme using threshold cryptography in MANET. For secure data transmission, when any node requests a certificate from a cluster head (CH), it utilizes a threshold cryptographic technique to issue the certificate to the requested node for authentication. The certificate of a node is renewed or rejected by CH, based on its trust counter value. An acknowledgement scheme is also included to detect and isolate the misbehaving nodes. By simulation results, we show that the proposed approach reduces the overhead.
NOVEL HYBRID INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM FOR CLUSTERED WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKIJNSA Journal
Wireless sensor network (WSN) is regularly deployed in unattended and hostile environments. The WSN is vulnerable to security threats and susceptible to physical capture. Thus, it is necessary to use effective mechanisms to protect the network. It is widely known, that the intrusion detection is one of the most efficient security mechanisms to protect the network against malicious attacks or unauthorized access. In this paper, we propose a hybrid intrusion detection system for clustered WSN. Our intrusion framework uses a combination between the Anomaly Detection based on support vector machine (SVM) and the Misuse Detection. Experiments results show that most of routing attacks can be detected with low false alarm.

A SYMMETRIC TOKEN ROUTING FOR SECURED COMMUNICATION OF MANET cscpconf
The communication should be much secured in Mobile Adhoc Networks in the
protective environment such as Military atmosphere and in a disaster relief. Due to the attackers,
Mobile Adhoc Networks resulting in denial of Service attacks modify packets, Error packets,
Missing Packets, Theft of Nodes, etc. To overcome this problem, We propose a new Symmetric

MANET. The proposed protocol distributed a secured shared symmetric token for each node to
provide security against hackers and attackers. Simulation results shows the better delivery against
the existing protocol in MANET.
Black hole Attack Avoidance Protocol for wireless Ad-Hoc networksijsrd.com
A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network is a collection of mobile nodes or a temporary network set up by wireless mobile nodes moving arbitrary in the places that have no network infrastructure in such a manner that the interconnections between nodes are capable of changing on continual basis. Thus the nodes find a path to the destination node using routing protocols. However, due to security vulnerabilities of the routing protocols, wireless ad-hoc networks are unprotected to attacks of the malicious nodes. Various attacks and one of those attacks is the Black Hole Attack against network integrity absorbing all data packets in the network. Since the data packets do not reach the destination node on account of this attack, data loss will occur. Therefore, it is a severe attack that can be easily employed against routing in mobile ad hoc networks. There are lots of detection and defense mechanisms to eliminate the intruder that carry out the black hole attack. . Virtual Infrastructure achieves reliable transmission in Mobile Ad Hoc Network. Black Hole Attack is the major problem to affect the Virtual Infrastructure. In this paper, approach on analyzing and improving the security of AODV, which is one of the popular routing protocols for MANET. Our aim is to ensuring the avoidance against Black hole attack.
Consensus Routing And Environmental Discrete Trust Based Secure AODV in MANETsIJCNCJournal
The Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) is a wireless network model for infrastructure-less communication, and it provides numerous applications in different areas. The MANET is vulnerable to a Black-hole attack, and it affects routing functionality by dropping all the incoming packets purposefully. The Black-hole attackers pretend that it always has the best path to the destination node to mislead the source nodes. Trust is the critical factor for detecting and isolating the Black-hole attackers from the network. However, the harsh channel conditions make it difficult to differentiate the Black-hole routing activities and accurate trust measurement. Hence, incorporating the consensus-based trust evidence collection from the neighbouring nodes improves the accuracy of trust. For improving the accuracy of trust, this work suggests Consensus Routing and Environmental DIscrete Trust (CREDIT) Based Secure AODV. The CREDIT incorporates Discrete and Consensus trust information. The Discrete parameters represent the specific characteristics of the Black-hole attacks, such as routing behaviour, hop count deviation, and sequence number deviation. The direct trust accurately differentiates the Black-hole attackers using Discrete parameters, only when the nodes perform sufficient communication between the nodes. To solve such issues, the CREDIT includes the Consensus-based trust information. However, secure routing against the Black-hole attack is challenging due to incomplete preferences. The in-degree centrality and Importance degree measurement on the collected consensus-based trust from decisionmakers solve the incomplete preference issue as well as improves the accuracy of trust. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated using Network Simulator-2 (NS2). From the simulation results, it is proved that the detection accuracy and throughput of the proposed CREDIT are substantially high and the proposed CREDIT scheme outperforms the existing work.

An emerging technology is Wireless Sensor Network where sensors are deployed at extreme geographical
locations where human intervention is not possible. The data transferred through the sensor nodes are majorly

privacy protection. Hence a routing protocol to achieve total unobservability by anonymous key establishment
using secret session keys and group signature is used. The unobservable routing protocol is divided into two
main phases. First phases define an anonymous key establishment process to construct secret session keys.
Second phase consist of unobservable route discovery process to find appropriate as well as secure route to the

TRIDNT: THE TRUST-BASED ROUTING PROTOCOL WITH CONTROLLED DEGREE OF NODE SELFI...IJNSA Journal
In Mobile ad-hoc network, nodes must cooperate to achieve the routing purposes. Node misbehaviour due to selfish or malicious intention could significantly degrade the performance of MANET because most existing routing protocols in MANET are aiming at finding most efficiency path. In this paper, we propose a Two node-disjoint Routes protocol for Isolating Dropper Node in MANET (TRIDNT) to deal with misbehaviour in MANET. TRIDNT allows some degree of selfishness to give an incentive to the selfish nodes to declare itself to its neighbours, which reduce the misbehaving nodes searching time. In TRIDNT two node-disjoint routes between the source and destination are selected based on their trust values. We use both DLL-ACK and end-to-end TCP-ACK to monitor the behaviour of routing path nodes: if a malicious behaviour is detected then the path searching tool starts to identify the malicious nodes and isolate them. Finally by using a mathematical analysis we find that our proposed protocol reduces the searching time of malicious nodes comparing to the route expected life time, and avoids the isolated misbehaving node from sharing in all future routes, which improve the overall network throughput.

ASSURED NEIGHBOR BASED COUNTER PROTOCOL ON MAC-LAYER PROVIDING SECURITY IN MO...cscpconf
In this paper, we have taken out the concern of security on a Medium Access Control layer
implementing Assured Neighbor based Security Protocol to provide the authentication,
confidentiality and taking in consideration High speed transmission by providing security in
parallel manner in both Routing and Link Layer of Mobile Ad hoc Networks. We basically
divide the protocol into two different segments as the first portion concentrates, based on
Routing layer information; we implement the scheme for the detection and isolation of the
malicious nodes. The trust counter for each node is maintained which actively increased and
decreased considering the trust value for the packet forwarding. The threshold level is defined differencing the malicious and non malicious nodes. If the value of the node in trust counter lacks below the threshold value then the node is considered as malicious. The second part focus on providing the security in the link layer, the security is provided using CTR (Counter) approach for authentication and encryption. Hence simulating the results in NS-2, we come to conclude that the proposed protocol can attain high packet delivery over various intruders while attaining low delays and overheads.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
Automobile Management System Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

A Probabilistic Misbehavior Detection Scheme towards
Efficient Trust Establishment in Delay-tolerant Networks
ABSTRACT:
Malicious and selfish behaviors represent a serious threat against routing in
Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks (DTNs). Due to the unique network
characteristics, designing a misbehavior detection scheme in DTN is regarded as a
great challenge. In this paper, we propose iTrust, a probabilistic misbehavior
detection scheme, for secure DTN routing towards efficient trust establishment.
The basic idea of iTrust is introducing a periodically available Trusted Authority
(TA) to judge the node’s behavior based on the collected routing evidences and
probabilistically checking. We model iTrust as the Inspection Game and use game
theoretical analysis to demonstrate that, by setting an appropriate investigation
probability, TA could ensure the security of DTN routing at a reduced cost. To
further improve the efficiency of the proposed scheme, we correlate detection
probability with a node’s reputation, which allows a dynamic detection probability
determined by the trust of the users. The extensive analysis and simulation results
2. show that the proposed scheme substantiates the effectiveness and efficiency of the
proposed scheme.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
In DTNs, a node could misbehave by dropping packets intentionally even when it
has the capability to forward the data (e.g., sufficient buffers and meeting
opportunities). Routing misbehavior can be caused by selfish (or rational) nodes
that try to maximize their own benefits by enjoying the services provided by DTN
while refusing to forward the bundles for others, or malicious nodes that drop
packets or modifying the packets to launch attacks.
Recently, there are quite a few proposals for misbehaviors detection in DTNs, most
of which are based on forwarding history verification (e.g., multi-layered credit,
three-hop feedback mechanism, or encounter ticket), which are costly in terms of
transmission overhead and verification cost. The security overhead incurred by
forwarding history checking is critical for a DTN since expensive security
operations will be translated into more energy consumptions, which represents a
fundamental challenge in resource constrained DTN.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:
Malicious and selfish behaviors represent a serious threat against routing in
Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks (DTNs).
Due to the unique network characteristics, designing a misbehavior detection
scheme in DTN is regarded as a great challenge.
Even though the existing misbehavior detection schemes work well for the
traditional wireless networks, the unique network characteristics including
lack of contemporaneous path, high variation in network conditions,
3. difficulty to predict mobility patterns, and long feedback delay, have made
the neighborhood monitoring based misbehavior detection scheme
unsuitable for DTNs
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
In this paper, we propose iTrust, a probabilistic misbehavior detection
scheme, for secure DTN routing towards efficient trust establishment.
The basic idea of iTrust is introducing a periodically available Trusted
Authority (TA) to judge the node’s behavior based on the collected routing
evidences and probabilistically checking.
ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM:
Reduce the detection overhead effectively.
Improved Security.
Improved Efficiency.
Will reduce transmission overhead incurred by misbehavior detection and
detect the malicious nodes effectively.

System Model
Routing Model
Threat Model
Itrust Scheme
MODULES DESCRIPTION:
System Model
In this paper, we adopt the system model where we consider a normal DTN
consisted of mobile devices owned by individual users. Each node i is assumed to
5. have a unique ID Ni and a corresponding public/private key pair. We assume that
each node must pay a deposit C before it joins the network, and the deposit will be
paid back after the node leaves if there is no misbehavior activity of the node. We
assume that a periodically available TA exists so that it could take the
responsibility of misbehavior detection in DTN. For a specific detection target Ni,
TA will request Ni’s forwarding history in the global network. Therefore, each
node will submit its collected Ni’s forwarding history to TA via two possible
approaches. In some hybrid DTN network environment, the transmission between
TA and each node could be also performed in a direct transmission manner (e.g.,
WIMAX or cellular networks). We argue that since the misbehavior detection is
performed periodically, the message transmission could be performed in a batch
model, which could further reduce the transmission overhead.
Routing Model
We adopt the single-copy routing mechanism such as First Contact routing
protocol, and we assume the communication range of a mobile node is finite. Thus
a data sender out of destination node’s communication range can only transmit
packetized data via a sequence of intermediate nodes in a multi-hop manner. Our
misbehaving detection scheme can be applied to delegation based routing protocols
or multi-copy based routing ones, such as MaxProp and ProPHET. We assume that
the network is loosely synchronized (i.e., any two nodes should be in the same time
slot at any time).
Threat Model
6. First of all, we assume that each node in the networks is rational and a rational
node’s goal is to maximize its own profit. In this work, we mainly consider two
kinds of DTN nodes: selfish nodes and malicious nodes. Due to the selfish nature
and energy consuming, selfish nodes are not willing to forward bundles for others
without sufficient reward. As an adversary, the malicious nodes arbitrarily drop
others’ bundles (blackhole or greyhole attack), which often take place beyond
others’ observation in a sparse DTN, leading to serious performance degradation.
Note that any of the selfish actions above can be further complicated by the
collusion of two or more nodes.
Itrust Scheme
In this section, we will present a novel basic iTrust scheme for misbehavior
detection scheme in DTNs. The basic iTrust has two phases, including Routing
Evidence Generation Phase and Routing Evidence Auditing Phase. In the evidence
generation phase, the nodes will generate contact and data forwarding evidence for
each contact or data forwarding. In the subsequent auditing phase, TA will
distinguish the normal nodes from the misbehaving nodes.
