Looks at the role of the stakeholders and the
associated processes that influence the success of

Stakeholders are any entity that influences the process
in any fashion both internally and externally to the
organization
There is a difference between stakeholder and
shareholder.
Only the stakeholder goes beyond owning a piece of the
organization
SIPOC Components
Inputs are those actions that are critical to the
organization
The action is an input
SIPOC Components
Every organization has its processes
Inputs need to be aligned with the correct processes
Inputs designed to enhance the process
SIPOC Components
Consider this formula:
Stakeholder = input = process = outputs
What is the benefit of the input to the process that
yields a particular result ( output)

  • 4. Where do we begin? How would you answer these questions? What does your job description tell you about your role in your organization? To what extent are you involved in the HR function in your organization To what extent are you involved in the organizational improvement process?
  • 5. Where do we begin? How would you answer these questions? If an individual employee takes the initiative to make a change to a process how does management respond? Has management ever told you that is just not the way we do things around here? Do you pigeonhole human capital assets?
  • 6. Understanding your processes Simple tool is used by the TLS Continuum called a SIPOC diagram Looks at the role of the stakeholders and the associated processes that influence the success of your organization
  • 8. SIPOC Components Stakeholders are any entity that influences the process in any fashion both internally and externally to the organization There is a difference between stakeholder and shareholder. Only the stakeholder goes beyond owning a piece of the organization
  • 9. SIPOC Components Inputs are those actions that are critical to the organization The action is an input
  • 10. SIPOC Components Every organization has its processes Inputs need to be aligned with the correct processes Inputs designed to enhance the process
  • 11. SIPOC Components Consider this formula: Stakeholder = input = process = outputs What is the benefit of the input to the process that yields a particular result ( output)
  • 12. SIPOC Components Every process has an end user in the form of a customer Who benefits from the delivery of the process?
