Benjamin Tallmadge Accomplishments
Benjamin Tallmadge was born in Setauket, Long Island on the twenty fifth of February in the year
seventeen fifty four. He attended Yale College in seventeen sixty nine and graduated in seventeen
seventy three, determined to study law (White). While in Yale, Tallmadge became close friends with
Nathan Hale, who would also be involved in American espionage (White). After graduation, he
superintended a school in Weathersfield, Connecticut.
His dreams to study law were shattered when American blood was first shed at Lexington, so he made
an effort to devote to the cause and enlisted in the Continental Army (Tallmadge 6). His old friend,
Captain Chester of Weathersfield, offered him the position of Lieutenant in one of Connecticut s six

He was a war hero and spymaster. He was so modest that his memoir did not even state any detail on
his intelligence accomplishments. He was the intelligence chief, and created America s first spy ring,
and that spy ring helped save the revolution. He monitored his spy ring, while also commanding
soldiers and winning military victories. That was what piqued my interest in Ben: he was a spymaster.
I have a huge interest in spies, but, once I looked into the biography of Benjamin Tallmadge, I realized
that spies in modern, American fiction are much more different than 18th century spying. For one,
they say that they gather intelligence, a term that I have not thought about to be associated when I first
think of a modern day spy. Spy crafts developed by Nathaniel Sackett were also very creative, such as
the Trojan egg ( Turn: Washington s Spies ). Benjamin Tallmadge, Abraham Woodhull, Caleb
Brewster, Robert Townsend, Austin Roe, Jonas Hawkins, and Agent 355 managed the Culper Spy
Ring, and I ve learned how they worked in the 18th century, where spies were hanged for treason and
such. I ve come to the knowledge that the current Central Intelligence Agency may be quite different
than the first spy ring. It can be said that George Washington s Spy Ring set the foundations for spy
techniques that are being used today in the CIA and FBI (DeFord). I ve learned that the books in
fiction portraying spies as undercover agents, trained when they were toddlers, being trained to catch
criminals such as drug dealers or thieves, were very different. I ve never thought of spies having to be
discreet on gathering certain intelligence; but then, I ve never thought about what it was like to spy for
a military. I have a big fascination with spies, but Major Benjamin Tallmadge amplified and increased
that fascination even further. I have learned a lot about the first spies of America, who helped save the

The Corrupting Views Of Hamilton And Jefferson
Power can corrupt people, especially the people that hold it. Hamilton and Jefferson, two founding
fathers of the country with very different ideas. The two were friends, but politics got in the way.
Hamilton wanted an industrial and urbanized society while Jefferson wanted a rural and agricultural
one. So the question is, whose views were better?
Some time after the war when America got its independence, everyone decided that Washington
should be president. When Washington took the oath he asked four people to be his Cabinet members.
They were: Alexander Hamilton (Secretary of Treasury), Thomas Jefferson (Secretary of State), Henry
Knox (Secretary of War), and Edmund Randolph (Attorney General).
Washington knew that Hamilton and Jefferson weren t so close, but ... Show more content on

Jefferson obviously didn t like the plan. He left the job because he saw that the Treasury Department
(Hamilton) had more power in forming the government. He also saw that Washington was taking more
of Hamilton s side.
The rivalry continued into personal life. Jefferson started accusing Hamilton of being a traitor and said
that he wanted monarchy back. Washington then said back that Hamilton s plan would work. Jefferson
replied saying Washington was weakened by age. Jefferson soon found out about Hamilton s affair
with Maria Reynolds, a married woman wanting money. When he decided to tell everyone about the
affair, Hamilton accused him of hypocrisy, most likely referring to the well known and proven rumors
of Jefferson s affair with his slave.
Speaking of slavery, Jefferson owned around 175 slaves with one whom he had an affair with. He sold
his slaves to punish them and he bought wine and other luxurious goods with the money. Destroying
families didn t bother Jefferson, says Paul Finkelman, a professor at Albany Law School, because he
believed blacks lacked basic human emotions. In short, he didn t care cause he thought they didn t

Eassy On Identity
Growing up in a household with parents of two different religious backgrounds has contributed to my
identity and continues to act as an important factor in what defines me as a person. My mom was
raised as a Lutheran Christian, and my dad was raised as Jewish. As a child, sharing this information
with my peers around the holiday season made me quickly grow accustomed to hearing, wow, so that
means you get, like, double the presents! Even though this may be true, coming from a religiously
diverse family impacts my life in ways much more significant than just double the presents. It has
provided me with different experiences to learn about both faiths and to gain a better understanding of
how certain beliefs compare and contrast.Since a picture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My dad does, however come with us to the Christmas and Easter services out of respect, although he
doesn t participate in any of the singing or the taking of Holy Communion.Because my family wants
to respect both religions, my parents decided that it was best to celebrate all of the Jewish holidays as
well. My dad is very proud of his faith, and over the year she has really enjoyed teaching my siblings
and me all about the different holidays and their significance. He attends temple every once in awhile,
but he has never asked any of us to go with him, nor have we asked him. In the future I would like to
go, because I want to see Judaism in a more formal way, rather than just in my house. I feel very lucky
that I am educated about the Jewish culture, because it tends to get overlooked in today s society.
Through celebrating the Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashanah, Passover, and Yom Kippur, I have been
introduced to many new types of foods, traditions, and prayers. One of my favorite Jewish traditions
happens during Passover. The tradition consists of my dad hiding the afikomen, which is a half piece
of matzo, the unleavened bread typically eaten during Passover. The tradition brought so much joy to
my siblings and me because we tried to watch my dad very carefully to see where he hid it, but he
somehow always found a way to hide it without us knowing when and where he did so. After the
traditional Passover meal was finished, my siblings and I would race up out of our chairs to go wildly
search for it. Whichever kid found it first was given a prize, and it was usually a few bucks, so we
were always very competitive in trying to find it. Eventually, I wasn t allowed to look for it anymore
because I got too old, which I found very unfair, but my brother and sister loved it because now they
had a better chance of finding it first. My dad loves carrying out this tradition, because it reminds him
of when he was young and playing

any outcome or feelings. Hume says that it is like me saying that a painting is beautiful and done well.
The painting is not actually beautiful, I just think it is. In class we talked about how Hume related his
philosophy to the game of Baseball. In the game of baseball huge and important aspects of the game
like hitting the ball or touching each base to ensure that you are safe seem so arbitrary when you
compare it to life. Touching a base is so simple and when you are not actually playing baseball, is so
irrelevant. This is one of Hume s very important lessons, we need to care and act on the things we find
boring or do not want to do. If we can do the things that we do not want to do and do them well, we

Summary Of Alison Ayers
Furthermore, root causes of conflict on the continent are often associated with internal issues or an
African problem . Alison Ayers discusses the false perception of civil war and failed states that have
been created and implemented by the West (Ayers 2012). She disputes that civil war is internally
instigated and only portrayed this way due to western representations of Africa through media. Ayers
states that these efforts are made by hegemonic powers and are ideologically and politically
convenient (Ayers 2012, 261). Her implications here suggest that these ideological subjugations render
African regions vulnerable for the use of exploitation and continuous dependency on external powers.
This becomes the norm of African perception

This is very true. For example, Hart loses Mitsy s friendship when she had mistaken what Hart had
meant when he jerked his head to signal he would catch up to her later. After that, their friendship
ended, until Alice was about to leave, which their friendship then mended. After that they become
lovers, however, again they break off their friendship due to Hart insecurity as Mitsy and Sadako
began to look less benign. This quote shows his perception of them being influenced by the war as he
became suspicious and saw them as Japanese enemies instead of friends. What finally pushed him
over the edge was Alice s official letter, which resulted in him calling Mitsy, A bitch. Then there is
Jamie Kalian whom he becomes friends with, which Jamie accepts because they were both lonely and

completely opposite but their friendship is just some convenience to them both. However, near the
end, Hartley s jealously got the better of him, almost allowing Jamie to die which then results in the
end of their friendship. The value of friendship is shown between Hartley, Mitsy and Jamie is evident
in today s society. The jealousy felt by Hartley in the novel, provides an understanding of how envy
can become a powerful emotion that can control people to do things that aren t in their nature or can

Analysis Of Augustine s The Confessions
Monnica With thirteen books making up the Confessions, it is hard to say what had played the most
important role in Augustine s life. Obviously, a crucial point in the story was Augustine s conversion
or return to Christianity. Readers see this as something Augustine was struggled with, from stealing
fruit to joining the Manicheans. Through all of his struggles about his faith, his mother Monnica was
devoted to his conversion. In this brief paper, I will discuss who Monnica was, how she played a role
in her son s conversion, and how she continues to influences others through the Confessions. Born in
331 CE, Monnica came from a Catholic family from Thagaste. When Monnica reached marriageable
age she was married to Patricius, a Roman Pagan. While Patricius had many faults, such as being hot
tempered and being unfaithful to his wife, Monnica always turned to God to show he husband mercy
(C. 9.9.19). From what we know, Monnica was mother to many children. We can account for at least
3, Augustine, a brother, and a sister. While the children grew up in a mixed religious household,
Monnica was persistent on her children receiving a Christian education. At one point during
Confessions, Augustine writes my tender little heart had drunk in that name, the name of my Savior
and your Son, with my mother s milk, and in my deepest heart I still held on to it (C. 3.4.8). Augustine
grew up knowing the God of his mother, that much is obvious when Augustine grew ill as a child.

Purgatorio Essay
Purgatorio
Perhaps the best place to begin a consideration of Purgatorio is not its beginning but its middle. In
cantos 16 18, the central three of this the central canticle, we learn about love and free will, perhaps
the two principles most important to an understanding of the whole of the Comedy. Because our
modern novelistic tradition of structure has led us to expect our plots to be arranged climactically, we
tend to find this kind of geometric construction artificial and surprising, even though the practice was
fairly common in medieval literature. Dante had himself already experimented with this kind of
structure in La Vita Nuova. La Chanson of Roland, to cite another well known example, seems by our
standards to drag on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this to be comprehensible, we must understand that Dante considers instinct a form of love,
natural or animal love, which can never be sinful. A second kind of love, however, mind directed love,
can fail in one of three ways and so be sinful, and in explaining this Virgil also explains the way the
central portion of Purgatorio is structured around the concept of the seven deadly sins. One can go
wrong by loving things one should not, (pride, envy, and anger), by loving what one should love, but
with insufficient intensity (sloth) or by loving as ends in themselves things that one should love only
in proper relationship to primary ends. In indulging these impulses, therefore, and so committing sins,
one is motivated by a species of love.
In canto 18, however, Dante pursues the relationship between free will and love one step further. If
love is a powerful force innate in each individual, what merit is there in loving good or blame in
loving ill? The answer is that Reason must surely guard the threshold of consent, for only with full
consent of the will can a soul be held guilty of sin. Traditional medieval psychology held that sin
involved three steps: attraction, delectation or delight, and consent. One perceives with the senses
something to which one is attracted and then forms within the mind an image of the object of
attraction in which to take delight. These two actions, the attraction or perception and the taking of

Pearl In The Scarlett Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne
Hester Prynne s daughter Pearl is one of the most complex characters observed in The Scarlet Letter.
The fact that such a small child can have such a huge impact on the adults in the story can be thought
of as ironic and thought provoking. Pearl goes against all of the odds that the community has set for
her. Everyone assumes that Pearl is a demon child because she was born as a result of the sin of lust,
and she does at times demonstrate signs of being peculiar. But Pearl, who was a dauntless child, after
frowning, stamping her foot, and shaking her little hand with a variety of threatening gestures,
suddenly made a rush at the knot of her enemies, and put them all to flight. (88). The reader is shocked
when we see that she ends up with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pearl s characteristics cause her to become paranoid about her possibly having demon or witch like
traits passed to her from her sin. The child could not be made amenable to rules. (77). This is the first
time Pearl s oddities are introduced to the audience. Hawthorne is foreshadowing her up and coming
childhood filled with strange actions and keen observations. Even as an infant, Pearl seems to be
aware of her mother s sin. But that first object of which Pearl seemed to become aware was shall we
say it? the scarlet letter on Hester s bosom! (82). Since the scarlet letter is what she was first aware of,
it could be said that this is where Pearl and the scarlet letter became one . To the Puritans, the scarlet
letter is a peculiarity and so is Pearl, so some comparisons can be made between the two. Her
exposure to the letter is a stepping stone for the growing fixation that she has to it as she gets older.
Pearl s awareness of the letter helps the development of the plot and keeps Hester on her toes, because
she rarely allows her mother to forget about it. Still came the battery of flowers, almost invariably
hitting the mark, and covering her mother s breast... (83) I see you here. Look! Look... Hester looked,
by way of humoring the child; and she saw that, owing to the peculiar effect of this convex mirror, the
scarlet letter was represented in exaggerated and gigantic

It can also start in other cells of the breast tissues. There is a pathway in the breast called lymph.
Lymph causes the cancer to spread throughout the breast. The vessels that carry clear fluid instead of

The health savings accounts were created in 2003, and the main purpose was to cover out of pocket

deductible. Therefore, the Health saving account provides the opportunity to cover out of pocket costs.

Most recent data shows that people benefit from health saving accounts and that they have sufficient
amount on the account to cover out of pocket expenses. Furthermore, data indicates that health saving
accounts are not being used as tax shelters by people with high income. It reveals that majority of
individuals who has an account has incomes below $60,000. The most important that the same survey
establishes that 41% of health saving accounts purchasers did not have medical insurance in the past
six months period. Many people point out that money on those accounts may be used for many
reasons. However, the early data showed that customers of the accounts are using their HSAs as
proposed mostly to cover qualified medical costs. The council has confidence in those imposing third
party substantiation requirements on HSAs will increase expenses and limit Americans opportunities
for health care coverage. These additional costs will limit the attractiveness and efficacy of health

Analysis of Night Elie Wiesel went through some dark times, as a result he uses symbols to describe
these trying times. A literary symbol is used to unite an image and an idea to evoke thought. In the
book Night by Elie Wiesel, night, fire, and silence are used as symbols to describe the darkness of his
history. In this article i intend to analyse how night is used to show the darkness of humanity in this
time period throughout the novel, how fire represented that they were in hell, and how silence is used
to show the loss of faith and fear. The biggest symbol used in the novel is night it s even used as the
title to hint towards the story s darkness. Wiesel uses the word night to show death, darkness, and a
world without God. Throughout the book there were many last nights ; for example, the last night in
Sighet, the last night with his father, and even the last night of innocence. The worst suffering in the
book happens at night, the train ride to the concentration camp was his last night of freedom before

The subject of this case study is a male aged four years (48 months). The setting is a voluntary aided

There was a specific observation of mention when Child A was in the computer corner playing a water
themed counting game. When estimating the number of objects on the screen, he used his fingers to
count the sea animals, 1, 2,3,4,5, 6 animals and looked at me for confirmation asking, is it 6? . This
shows that Child A is developing within the usual ranges of development, Estimates how many objects

Piaget believes children learn best by doing and that they must be additionally active in their own

Subsequently Child A, within the stages of schema, would experience a new notion of dealing with
numbers. The existing schema does not work as child A has no prior knowledge on counting sea

contemporary knowledge and attain equilibrium. Hence, Child A uses his fingers to count aloud and
signify each finger with a specific number. For future recommendation, I would have Child A

Analysis Of Peter Jackson s The Lord Of The Rings
An individual s actions have the capacity to guide their actions and behaviours. Throughout Peter
Jackson s cinematic trilogy, The Lord of the Rings, the power of an individual s motivations is vividly
conveyed, as it influences many character s course of actions. The root of Saruman s motivations is his
allegiance to Sauron, Together, my Lord Sauron, we shall rule this Middle Earth. (Saruman,
LOTR:TTT, Jackson), as well as supplementary influences. As for Frodo, his incentives were based on
the burden of the One Ring from Bilbo, Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you were
also meant to have it. (Gandalf, LOTR:FOTR, Jackson), as well as divine intervention. Throughout
the entirety of the cinematic trilogy, the ways in which an individual s motivations direct their actions
and behaviours, is vividly conveyed and is imperative to the success and consequences of their
character.
Saruman is seen as a disciple to Sauron, and serves to create an army worthy of him, Build me an
army worthy of Mordor. (Sauron, LOTR:FOTR, Jackson), so that Saruman could increase the scale of
his empire and secure the One Ring. He is depicted as a servant of Sauron; he is referred to as Sauron

The key objective of this particular reaction was to relate Le Chatelier s principle and Beer s Law to
discover the equilibrium constant and absorptivity. Le Chatelier declares that if a reaction s conditions
are altered, the equilibrium of the reaction will shift in order to reach equilibrium and be balanced.
During this experiment, whenever a solution was added or mixed at different values, the equilibrium
of the equation was shifted to make more product or reactant (depending on where you add/mix). The
spectrophotometer showed students the hue of the solution thus as a darker color, more product was
shown and the absorptivity varied. In this experiment, many errors came up. With that being said,
errors relating to the spectrophotometer was the main cause of wrong readings and improper data. In
addition to mechanical error, human error like mixing the wrong chemicals together could have
drastically altered the results and data. Conclusion: The spectrophotometry was key in finding the
value for the equilibrium for FeSCN2+, Fe3+, and SCN . Le Chatelier s principle and Beer s law was
used to calculate the molar absorptivity constant for FeSCN2+. In order to understand part two, the
concentration had to be known to calculate the unknown concentrations of FeSCN2+. In the end, the
results in the experiment show that the greater the concentration in the given

The reconstruction after the civil war did provide more rights for African Americans. However,
despite the efforts, reconstruction in general failed to meet its goals of protecting the rights of African
Americans. African Americans faced poverty and as the US began to be in deficit, their struggles
increased. Social pressure by terror groups as well as general culture promoted the ideas of inferiority
of African Americans. Furthermore, the government passed laws, such as Black codes or the Jim Crow
laws, that supported these cultural ideas and increased the challenges of economical stability.Through
these oppressive economic, social and political situations, African Americans found themselves in a
disadvantaged position in society.

Two sets of laws which persecuted African Americans appeared. The first were the Black codes.
Initially, discriminating laws were passed mostly in the southern states. After the civil war, southern
states passed Black Codes, a series of laws meant to restrict the rights of African Americans. These
laws persecuted African Americans in a variety of ways. African Americans were stopped from voting
and serving on juries. They were not allowed to marry white people, and also could own arms. The
second set of laws, the Jim Crow laws, was used to segregate African Americans from the rest of
society. In addition to restricting African Americans from participating in the aforementioned
activities, African Americans were segregated in schools. The court case Plessy vs Ferguson defined
that segregation was legal because both parties were being given equal services. However, this was
not the case. White school had newer books, better classrooms, and were funded significantly more
than the non white schools. The government of the United States became increasingly less involved in
protecting the rights of African Americans, and the white supremacist culture continued to become a
norm. This stalled political change and increased racism in

Pop Culture And Its Effect On Society
Introduction
Popular culture has manifested itself in a number of ways. Currently, the most commonly used method
of spreading and exchanging opinions, ideas, art, and other concepts is through the internet. Never
before has it been so easy to shed light on a person or an idea, giving it levels of popularity that were
considered inconceivable in ages past. In many circumstances the way people are portrayed through
pop culture is most likely how they were perceived by the bulk of people. Pop/culture serves as a way
to connect people; help them relate to one another over shared opinions and interests. It was and is the
representative of the majority. But what of the times before the internet? How was pop culture
expressed in a time when people did not have the ability to express their thoughts and opinions with
millions at a time almost instantaneously? Theatre is one of the most time honored means of
entertainment. Before television and computers and the internet, actors would don a costume and tell
act for masses of people. It was a form of storytelling that was not limited to the literate or rich or the
scholars, but could be enjoyed by anyone form any economic background. Through it we can see our
history and opinions in the form of characters, plots, and settings. We can observe the changing of
mainstream opinions through the common themes and recurring motifs in the most popular plays.
This is particularity true in regards to females in theatre. Throughout the years we

Culture Is Unique And Unparalleled
Culture is the establishment on which somebody bases his or her life. It is the world around us and
what we do within it. It is part of the identity that describes us, the experiences that make us, us.
Individuals originate from an ethnic foundation all around the globe. In this paper, I will clarify the
genuine importance of culture, state different culture s people practice and provide a few examples
from the movie Namesake.
Every culture is unique. Over the years, it is noticeable that culture has been declining in many
countries. Individuals ethical qualities are underneath typical societal principles which is the reason
the more established eras are insulted by the way things are presently and feel exasperates towards
society. However, in India culture still runs strong. India s astounding diversity of culture is unique
and unparalleled. Hinduism is the religion of the larger part of individuals in India. Their religion is
intensely rehearsed and enforced. Praying and family values are extremely important prices of Indian
culture. They pray to multiple gods and goddesses and fast on certain religious holidays. Fasting is a
kind of ritual meant to purify the body and the mind and build up the nature of separation and
composure. Faithful Hindus observe fasting in uncommon events as a sign of admiration to their own
divine beings. In an Indian culture, after a person dies, it is considered impure to touch its body. After

The Physics Of Scuba Diving Essay example
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to swim with the fish and explore the underwater
jungle that covers two thirds of the earth s surface? I have always been interested in water activities;
swimming, diving and skiing, and I felt that scuba was for me. My first dive took place while on a

interest. After much convincing (my parents), with my solemn assurance that I would be careful, I was

Scuba diving is the most frequently used mode in recreational diving and, in various forms, is also
widely used to perform underwater work for military, scientific, and commercial purposes.
There were many steps in the development of a successful self contained underwater system. In 1808,
Freiderich yon Drieberg invented a bellows in a box device that was worn on the diver s back and
delivered compressed air from the surface. This device, named Triton, did not actually work but
served to suggest that compressed air could be used in diving, an idea initially conceived of by
Halley in 1716. (Ketels, 9)
In 1865, two French inventors, Rouquayrol and Denayrouse, developed a suit that they described as
self contained. In fact, their suit was not self contained but consisted of a helmet using surface
supported system that had an air reservoir that was carried on the diver s back and was sufficient to
provide one breathing cycle on demand. The demand valve regulator was used with surface supply
largely because tanks of adequate strength were not yet available to handle air at high pressure. This
system s demand valve, which was automatically controlled, represented a major

importing and exporting goods to sister states. It would also help pay for the transportation of those

Cassius Manipulation of Brutus, the Noblest Roman of Them...
Brutus is a good man who is easily turned evil by men filled with abhorrence and jealousy. In the play,
Julius Caesar, Brutus is a Roman who is easily manipulated, decisive, and proud. These contradicting
traits of Brutus show us why the reader does not want to believe that Brutus is an antagonist in the
story.
Brutus is shown as being easily manipulated in the play. This trait is shown a few times in the play. At
the beginning, Brutus is tricked by Cassius into believing that killing Julius Caesar would be for the
better of Rome (1, 2, ll. 32 321). Cassius is able to deviously influence Brutus into thinking that
Caesar is no different from Brutus. He says, Brutus and Caesar: what should be in that Caesar?/ Why

In truth, Antony only wants to gain the conspirator s trust to be able to defeat them through the
citizens of Rome. We can easily see how Brutus was manipulated in this part of the story by the
conspirators and Mark Antony. Brutus has great sense of honour and he thinks that others think the
same way. It is this weakness in Brutus that makes him so easy to be manipulated.
Brutus is also shown as being decisive in the play. He easily makes decisions that are followed
without a moment s hesitation. At first he displays this useful trait when he discusses with the
conspirators about whether to include Cicero in the assassination of Caesar. Brutus rejects this idea
and states, O, name him not: let us not break with him:/ For he will never follow anything/ That other
men begin (2,1). Another time when Brutus shows his abilities to strongly make decisions occurs
when he and Cassius debate over which battle strategies to take when facing Octavius and Antony s
army (4, 3, ll. 202 223). Cassius disagrees on what to do at first, but Brutus is able to win him over.
Brutus decisive trait helped him very much in the play Julius Caesar. All though being decisive was a
good trait of his, his most important one was pride.
Pride is one of Brutus greatest trait and he showed how proud he was many times in the story. In Act
2, Scene 1, Brutus rejects the idea of making an oath with the conspirators because of his nobility and
pride. Here he says that if the good of Rome is not

Ammon Research Paper
Ammon was originally an Aethiopian or Libyan godliness, whose reverence eventually spread all over
Egypt, a section of the northern coast of Africa, and several parts of Greece. The original Egyptian

it seems that most friendships in The Social Network were never meant to survive; all were meant to

As the world becomes more globalized, English seems to dominate the world as the leader of

The liturgical celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation of one penitent is one of the seven
sacraments of the Catholic Church. It is a part of the Churches mysterion, as it is a sacrament
instituted by Jesus Christ in which an individual confesses their sins made after their initial cleansing
in the Sacrament of Baptism and is given forgiveness by a priest which has been given ... Show more

Through this influence, the idea of a once only confession was also challenged. The Council of Trent
in 1551 supported this method of reconciliation by pushing the idea of individual penance to the
forefront of Christian practice. Through this, the idea of reconciliation was given greater importance to
the individual as well as the community as the focus became shifted from the forgiveness of sins to a
renewed sense of rebuilding ones relationship with God. This is the same conclusion reached by the
Vatican II in 1964 and is still predominant in Christian practice today.
While it is evident that the sacrament of reconciliation has changed over time, the underlying
meanings and core intentions behind the practice remain the same. That is, Christians who have sinned
are given a path to which they can be forgiven for their sins in order reconcile their relationship with
God and the Church. Through this, each element of the sacrament of penance is given importance, as
they directly correlate to the core beliefs behind the development of the sacrament. The three
predominant parts of the sacrament of reconciliation include the contrition, confession and the act of
penance.
The contrition is arguably the most important component as it is the initial commitment made by the
penitent to commit to their beliefs under the eyes of God and vow not only to reveal all of their secrets
to the priest,

The Grinding Gears of a Dysfunctional Economy
America s Growing Income Inequality

The Grinding Gears of a Dysfunctional Economy The economy is like a watch, each gear grinds
together in order to allow the hands to rotate flawlessly. What happens if one of those gears may get
stuck? Starting in the early 1970s, middle and working class wages in America stagnated. From the
1970s to today, the average hourly wage has only risen 9 percent (Saez) while the dollar has inflated
approximately five hundred and five percent (US Inflation Calculator). These wages have continued to
stagnate as the top twenty percent wealthiest Americans have had their wages quadrupled since the
1980s (Inequality.org). This disproportionate growth of wealth in society s elite classes have left the
economy in freefall. Wealth is distributed to everyone in America, no matter what job you perform. It
is a common understanding that as a fast food worker you will earn a low minimum dollar wage and a
Chief Executive Officer will earn in the millions annually. The United States of America is a
capitalistic society, where everyone is out to make profit. Wage inequality is a great thing, it offers an
incentive for poor and middle class families to work hard to rise through the ranks of the social ladder
and into the bracket of wage earners.

Laramie Project Thesis
The Laramie Project Paper
The Laramie Project, written and directed by Moisés Kaufman, is a docudrama that was written and
filmed after a homosexual student was brutally beaten and killed in Laramie, Wyoming in 1998.
Although he was left in a gruesome and unimaginable state by the two boys that killed him, Matthew
Shepard did not die until five days later in a Colorado hospital. The crime brought national attention to
hate crimes and caused legislation to be passed punishing those who commit crimes for this reason.
The Tectonic Theater Project, a group based in New York City, moved into the small town of Laramie,
documenting the town s reactions to the crime and the attention that it had received. The information
gathered from these interviews ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point in the movie, the audience has not learned much of McKinney and Russell Henderson,
the other person charged of killing Shepard. Because the dialogue is in the confession setting,
McKinney keeps his answers to a minimum and only answers to what has been asked. That makes the
subtext during the scene very noticeable because the audience develops their opinion of the boys
during that instance. Through the short confession and his demeanor, the audience can conclude that
McKinney was homophobic and unwilling to grant Shepard any mercy when he beat him. The police
officer asks questions that are to the point, trying to gain as much information as possible. McKinney
answers without hesitation and tells what he claims to be the truth while revealing that he is nervous
about the outcome of his trial. This addition to the play is interesting because it has to be staged as an
actual occurrence rather than as an interview. It is similar to the speech made by Dennis Shepard
because the theater group did not specifically ask questions in search for these answers, but they use
the information because it gives the docudrama its sense of reality. This confession shapes the
murderers as characters and helps the audience answer some lingering questions. It also allows the
theater group to gather information and interviews from townspeople in response to this specific
confession and how they felt about

Employee Empowerment Contributes to an Organizations Success
Introduction
Empowerment is a powerful tool that companies give to allow each employee to become a decision
maker. When empowered employees truly understand their potential, there is almost an immediate
positive reaction in the both the company and the individual. For a company to realize success,
employees must be trusted and empowered to make business decisions that are in line with the
company s governing policies.
The objective of this paper is to provide a better understanding of why and how employee
empowerment is critical to run a successful operation. Employees and employers both gain positive
results when the empowerment process has been successfully implemented in an organization. To

You enable your employees to succeed by providing them with the means, opportunity and capacity
they need to excel. Lawson (2006)
For empowerment to come to fruition, it can take years before all the pieces are correctly administered
and functioning on their own. Patients and understanding must be displayed as new employees are
brought on board and setbacks happen. The worst actions an organization can take are to stop
embracing the free thinking of their employees and to discontinue training. Organization must keep
their workforce engaged. As Gilbert Jamison (n.d.) wrote Bottom line, creating and sustaining a
culture of excellence cannot be achieved without fully engaged employees who feel a part of the
organization, and that they are truly valued contributors to the success of the organization.
Organizations must support their teams consistently, provide ample training to new employees, and
follow up with continuous training to keep the employee engaged. Support from all areas and a
collaborative environment must be established to embrace creative thinking. With patients and time,
the organization will become self managed through employee empowerment. Correlation between

The Presidential Election Of 1968 Essay
America has always been a proud nation full of nationalism as well. The people, looked up to their
government and their presidents for what to do during the dark days of depression, war, economic
shutdown, and communism. The people knew who their enemies were or at least had a description.
America never truly had a reason to doubt their leaders, those were the people who lead the nation to
victory. Then there was a blow, a crisis that flipped everyone s views and values upside down. There
was an enemy that needed to be defeated, needed to , for this moment was that the so called enemy
was the president himself, Richard Nixon.
He was first seen in the presidential seen was in the 1960 elections against John F. Kennedy, which he
lost. Though he was not discourage and ran again during the presidential election of 1968. After
already losing one election, Nixon was worried about the results, but this time, luck and the electoral
college was on his side this time and won with pretty eye opening results. It wasn t until his re election
where Nixon was really worried, he didn t know what to think about the results, but the only thing he
was sure was that he was going to lose and without doing anything, he was going to watch how bad he
was going to lose the presidency again. He already lost once and he wasn t going to lose another time,
especially to George McGovern. Well, he won. Nixon won in a victorious landslide victory, the
biggest victory in American history.[1] In response

Analysis Of Anna Deavere Smith s Fires In The Mirror
My sense is that American character lives not in one place or the other, but in the gaps between the
places, and in our struggle to be together in our differences, (Anna Deavere Smith). Anna Deavere
Smith in her play, Fires in the Mirror, takes two different cultural communities and interviews their
standpoint of the conflict at hand. The underlying racism present in this community is soon brewed
into a pandemonium once the death of both a Black and Jewish individual take place. Fires in the
Mirror is a social drama that presents a breach as several Jewish males accidentally kill a young Black
boy in a car accident. Due to this incident, it causes a crisis within the community as a Jewish man is
later murdered by Black males to pursue revenge for the cause of this breach. With a social drama
following the guideline to find a redressive action to limit the spread of the breach, Smith in her
interviews portrays that this community fails to do so. Because of this, the reintegration becomes an
irreparable breach between the two. Consequently, due to the social clash between the Black and
Jewish communities, the city of Crown Heights becomes socially segregated. Individuals interviewed
in this play are heavily indulged in looking at what segregates them from one another that it leads to
individuals pointing fault or playing victim, which inevitably will never lead to a resolution to this
social crisis. Individuals that have been interviewed have focused their energy on what segregates
themselves from one another that it restrains them from foreseeing a solution to the social crisis
among their community. A major conflict brought up throughout multiple interviews was the scene
where the accident happened. Multiple interviews have their own perspective of the situation as well
as their opinion about the different ambulances that arrives in the scene.Rabbi Joseph Speilman in No
Blood in His Feet explains, The Jewish community has a volunteer ambulance corps which is funded
totally from the nations...The EMS responded with three ambulances on the scene. They were there
before the Jewish ambulance came (69). This explain shows how in a city where the citizens are under
one government, when a tragic

Sojourner Truth Legend
Sojourner Truth is an American legend. She began life as a slave and ended her life as an outgoing
speaker and free woman. Sojourner led a very disadvantage life but was able to rise above her
hardships. Truth was a motivational speaker even though she was not able to read or write. Sojourner
Truth continues to impact lives today through her works.
Isabella Baumfree was born in 1797 in Ulster County, New York (Women in History). Isabella became
widely known as Sojourner Truth. Sojourner s parents, Elizabeth and James Baumfree were slaves.
Her childhood was spent under the watchful eyes of abusive masters. Her primary language during her
childhood was Dutch. At age nine, Sojourner was sold to John Neely. It was in this abusive situation
that she turned to religion. Religion was her refuge . Sojourner Truth had at least five children between
1815 and 1827. Truth was sold several times and was finally purchased by Isaac and Maria Van
Wagenen in New York State. The Van Wagenen s gave Sojourner her freedom in 1827. It was during
this time that Truth felt the call to preach (Women in History). In approximately 1829, she moved to
New York City with her youngest two children ( Sojourner Truth Encyclopedia Britannica). The rest
of her children had been sold as slaves (Women in History). Sojourner Truth s legal name at this time
was Isabella Van Wagener ( Sojourner Truth Encyclopedia Britannica).
Sojourner Truth spent the next several years traveling and preaching (Butler, Mary G.). During her
travels, she met several important reformers and abolitionist of that time such as William Lloyd
Garrison, Susan B. Anthony, and Harriet Beecher Stowe (Butler, Mary G.). While traveling, she lived
and worked with many different groups and associations (Women in History). She met and worked
with Olive Gilbert at an association created by abolitionists. This association encouraged cooperative
and productive labor. Olive Gilbert wrote The Narrative of Sojourner Truth: A Northern Slave in 1850
with Truth dictating. C Span American Writers article, Sojourner Truth , describes this book as a
fractional biography of Sojourner s life. It details the experiences she had as a slave and her spiritual
change which led her to become a

Hudson s Bay Business Analysis
Hudson s Bay has diversity of fancy housewares, clothing and shoes. The company has way more
expensive displays and products than Sears. In the Queen location at Toronto, there are specialty
stores such as Burberry boutique, Coach store, Fur salon and Top Shop/Top Man store, which is for
high and middle income class. The store carries many cosmetics and fragrance counters with popular
brands. There are about seven floors in the Hudson s Bay downtown Toronto out of which at least
three floors are only specialized for ladies wear. There is a huge section specified for Petite and Plus
size women as well as a newly introduced bridal boutique called Klein field. The bay has one of the

They have stable revenue for women and men but the children department s sale has increased after
2007. Sear s clothing quality and prices are a little less than the Bay and this lets the lower income
families to take advantage. For the cosmetics category that includes makeup, soaps and personal
hygiene products they estimated to account for 16% of total revenue of industry. Furniture and
household appliances has decreased sell but the store increased sell for toys and hobbies. Their video
games and children department per household always increase because they have a special price for
this product (Chris Clark, n.d). Sears does not get more revenue for jewelleries. The jewellery
department at sears is a lot less attractive with having older style units of shelves and decors and much
smaller jewellery selection than the Hudson s Bay. It also often carries less expensive and lower class
products that the Hudson s Bay. Sears has a general merchandise catalogue with over 1,400 catalogues
merchandise pickup locations. Customers can order products online or by using the computerized
systems at catalogue pick up locations. Sadly, due to Sears s wrong marketing strategies, poor image
and careless customer service, the company s sells dropped significantly. This left the company no
choice but to reduce the number of stores. As a result, Sears had to close down many of its large stores

He attended Yale College in seventeen sixty nine and graduated in seventeen seventy three, determined to study law (White). While in Yale, Tallmadge became close friends with Nathan Hale, who would also be involved in American espionage (White). After graduation, he superintended a school in Weathersfield, Connecticut. His dreams to study law were shattered when American blood was first shed at Lexington, so he made an effort to devote to the cause and enlisted in the Continental Army (Tallmadge 6). He was the intelligence chief, and created America s first spy ring, and that spy ring helped save the revolution. He monitored his spy ring, while also commanding soldiers and winning military victories. That was what piqued my interest in Ben: he was a spymaster. I have a huge interest in spies, but, once I looked into the biography of Benjamin Tallmadge, I realized that spies in modern, American fiction are much more different than 18th century spying. For one, they say that they gather intelligence, a term that I have not thought about to be associated when I first think of a modern day spy. Spy crafts developed by Nathaniel Sackett were also very creative, such as the Trojan egg ( Turn: Washington s Spies ). Benjamin Tallmadge, Abraham Woodhull, Caleb Brewster, Robert Townsend, Austin Roe, Jonas Hawkins, and Agent 355 managed the Culper Spy Ring, and I ve learned how they worked in the 18th century, where spies were hanged for treason and such. I ve come to the knowledge that the current Central Intelligence Agency may be quite different than the first spy ring. It can be said that George Washington s Spy Ring set the foundations for spy techniques that are being used today in the CIA and FBI (DeFord). I ve learned that the books in fiction portraying spies as undercover agents, trained when they were toddlers, being trained to catch criminals such as drug dealers or thieves, were very different. I ve never thought of spies having to be discreet on gathering certain intelligence; but then, I ve never thought about what it was like to spy for a military. I have a big fascination with spies, but Major Benjamin Tallmadge amplified and increased that fascination even further. I have learned a lot about the first spies of America, who helped save the ... Hamilton and Jefferson, two founding fathers of the country with very different ideas. The two were friends, but politics got in the way. Hamilton wanted an industrial and urbanized society while Jefferson wanted a rural and agricultural one. So the question is, whose views were better? Some time after the war when America got its independence, everyone decided that Washington should be president. When Washington took the oath he asked four people to be his Cabinet members. They were: Alexander Hamilton (Secretary of Treasury), Thomas Jefferson (Secretary of State), Henry Knox (Secretary of War), and Edmund Randolph (Attorney General). He left the job because he saw that the Treasury Department (Hamilton) had more power in forming the government. He also saw that Washington was taking more of Hamilton s side. Jefferson replied saying Washington was weakened by age. Jefferson soon found out about Hamilton s affair with Maria Reynolds, a married woman wanting money. When he decided to tell everyone about the affair, Hamilton accused him of hypocrisy, most likely referring to the well known and proven rumors of Jefferson s affair with his slave. Speaking of slavery, Jefferson owned around 175 slaves with one whom he had an affair with. He sold his slaves to punish them and he bought wine and other luxurious goods with the money. My dad is very proud of his faith, and over the year she has really enjoyed teaching my siblings and me all about the different holidays and their significance. Through celebrating the Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashanah, Passover, and Yom Kippur, I have been introduced to many new types of foods, traditions, and prayers. One of my favorite Jewish traditions happens during Passover. The tradition consists of my dad hiding the afikomen, which is a half piece of matzo, the unleavened bread typically eaten during Passover. The tradition brought so much joy to my siblings and me because we tried to watch my dad very carefully to see where he hid it, but he somehow always found a way to hide it without us knowing when and where he did so. After the traditional Passover meal was finished, my siblings and I would race up out of our chairs to go wildly search for it. Whichever kid found it first was given a prize, and it was usually a few bucks, so we were always very competitive in trying to find it. Eventually, I wasn t allowed to look for it anymore because I got too old, which I found very unfair, but my brother and sister loved it because now they had a better chance of finding it first. My dad loves carrying out this tradition, because it reminds him of when he was young and playing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In class we talked about how Hume related his philosophy to the game of Baseball. In the game of baseball huge and important aspects of the game like hitting the ball or touching each base to ensure that you are safe seem so arbitrary when you compare it to life. Touching a base is so simple and when you are not actually playing baseball, is so irrelevant. Alison Ayers discusses the false perception of civil war and failed states that have been created and implemented by the West (Ayers 2012). She disputes that civil war is internally instigated and only portrayed this way due to western representations of Africa through media. Ayers states that these efforts are made by hegemonic powers and are ideologically and politically convenient (Ayers 2012, 261). Her implications here suggest that these ideological subjugations render African regions vulnerable for the use of exploitation and continuous dependency on external powers. • 10. Analysis Of Augustine s The Confessions Monnica With thirteen books making up the Confessions, it is hard to say what had played the most important role in Augustine s life. Obviously, a crucial point in the story was Augustine s conversion or return to Christianity. Readers see this as something Augustine was struggled with, from stealing fruit to joining the Manicheans. Through all of his struggles about his faith, his mother Monnica was devoted to his conversion. In this brief paper, I will discuss who Monnica was, how she played a role in her son s conversion, and how she continues to influences others through the Confessions. Born in 331 CE, Monnica came from a Catholic family from Thagaste. When Monnica reached marriageable age she was married to Patricius, a Roman Pagan. While Patricius had many faults, such as being hot tempered and being unfaithful to his wife, Monnica always turned to God to show he husband mercy (C. 9.9.19). From what we know, Monnica was mother to many children. We can account for at least 3, Augustine, a brother, and a sister. While the children grew up in a mixed religious household, Monnica was persistent on her children receiving a Christian education. At one point during Confessions, Augustine writes my tender little heart had drunk in that name, the name of my Savior and your Son, with my mother s milk, and in my deepest heart I still held on to it (C. 3.4.8). • 11. Purgatorio Essay Purgatorio Perhaps the best place to begin a consideration of Purgatorio is not its beginning but its middle. In cantos 16 18, the central three of this the central canticle, we learn about love and free will, perhaps the two principles most important to an understanding of the whole of the Comedy. Because our modern novelistic tradition of structure has led us to expect our plots to be arranged climactically, we tend to find this kind of geometric construction artificial and surprising, even though the practice was fairly common in medieval literature. Dante had himself already experimented with this kind of structure in La Vita Nuova. La Chanson of Roland, to cite another well known example, seems by our standards to drag on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this to be comprehensible, we must understand that Dante considers instinct a form of love, natural or animal love, which can never be sinful. A second kind of love, however, mind directed love, can fail in one of three ways and so be sinful, and in explaining this Virgil also explains the way the central portion of Purgatorio is structured around the concept of the seven deadly sins. One can go wrong by loving things one should not, (pride, envy, and anger), by loving what one should love, but with insufficient intensity (sloth) or by loving as ends in themselves things that one should love only in proper relationship to primary ends. In indulging these impulses, therefore, and so committing sins, one is motivated by a species of love. In canto 18, however, Dante pursues the relationship between free will and love one step further. If love is a powerful force innate in each individual, what merit is there in loving good or blame in loving ill? The answer is that Reason must surely guard the threshold of consent, for only with full consent of the will can a soul be held guilty of sin. Traditional medieval psychology held that sin involved three steps: attraction, delectation or delight, and consent. One perceives with the senses something to which one is attracted and then forms within the mind an image of the object of attraction in which to take delight. These two actions, the attraction or perception and the taking of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The fact that such a small child can have such a huge impact on the adults in the story can be thought of as ironic and thought provoking. Pearl goes against all of the odds that the community has set for her. Everyone assumes that Pearl is a demon child because she was born as a result of the sin of lust, and she does at times demonstrate signs of being peculiar. But Pearl, who was a dauntless child, after frowning, stamping her foot, and shaking her little hand with a variety of threatening gestures, suddenly made a rush at the knot of her enemies, and put them all to flight. Even as an infant, Pearl seems to be aware of her mother s sin. But that first object of which Pearl seemed to become aware was shall we say it? the scarlet letter on Hester s bosom! (82). Since the scarlet letter is what she was first aware of, it could be said that this is where Pearl and the scarlet letter became one . To the Puritans, the scarlet letter is a peculiarity and so is Pearl, so some comparisons can be made between the two. Her exposure to the letter is a stepping stone for the growing fixation that she has to it as she gets older. Le Chatelier declares that if a reaction s conditions are altered, the equilibrium of the reaction will shift in order to reach equilibrium and be balanced. During this experiment, whenever a solution was added or mixed at different values, the equilibrium of the equation was shifted to make more product or reactant (depending on where you add/mix). The spectrophotometer showed students the hue of the solution thus as a darker color, more product was shown and the absorptivity varied. In this experiment, many errors came up. With that being said, errors relating to the spectrophotometer was the main cause of wrong readings and improper data. In addition to mechanical error, human error like mixing the wrong chemicals together could have drastically altered the results and data. I have always been interested in water activities; swimming, diving and skiing, and I felt that scuba was for me. My first dive took place while on a family vacation. I came across a dive shop offering introductory dives, which immediately caught my interest. After much convincing (my parents), with my solemn assurance that I would be careful, I was allowed to participate in a dive. I was ready, or so I thought. The slim basics such as breathing were explained and I was literally tossed in. Sounds easy enough, right!, well WRONG!!. From the moment I hit the water, my experience was ... Scuba diving is the most frequently used mode in recreational diving and, in various forms, is also widely used to perform underwater work for military, scientific, and commercial purposes. There were many steps in the development of a successful self contained underwater system. In 1808, Freiderich yon Drieberg invented a bellows in a box device that was worn on the diver s back and delivered compressed air from the surface. This device, named Triton, did not actually work but served to suggest that compressed air could be used in diving, an idea initially conceived of by Halley in 1716. (Ketels, 9) In 1865, two French inventors, Rouquayrol and Denayrouse, developed a suit that they described as self contained. In fact, their suit was not self contained but consisted of a helmet using surface supported system that had an air reservoir that was carried on the diver s back and was sufficient to provide one breathing cycle on demand. The demand valve regulator was used with surface supply largely because tanks of adequate strength were not yet available to handle air at high pressure. In the play, Julius Caesar, Brutus is a Roman who is easily manipulated, decisive, and proud. These contradicting traits of Brutus show us why the reader does not want to believe that Brutus is an antagonist in the story. Brutus is shown as being easily manipulated in the play. This trait is shown a few times in the play. At the beginning, Brutus is tricked by Cassius into believing that killing Julius Caesar would be for the better of Rome (1, 2, ll. 32 321). We can easily see how Brutus was manipulated in this part of the story by the conspirators and Mark Antony. Brutus has great sense of honour and he thinks that others think the same way. It is this weakness in Brutus that makes him so easy to be manipulated. Brutus is also shown as being decisive in the play. He easily makes decisions that are followed without a moment s hesitation. At first he displays this useful trait when he discusses with the conspirators about whether to include Cicero in the assassination of Caesar. Brutus rejects this idea and states, O, name him not: let us not break with him:/ For he will never follow anything/ That other men begin (2,1). Another time when Brutus shows his abilities to strongly make decisions occurs when he and Cassius debate over which battle strategies to take when facing Octavius and Antony s army (4, 3, ll. 202 223). Cassius disagrees on what to do at first, but Brutus is able to win him over. Brutus decisive trait helped him very much in the play Julius Caesar. All though being decisive was a good trait of his, his most important one was pride. Pride is one of Brutus greatest trait and he showed how proud he was many times in the story. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through this influence, the idea of a once only confession was also challenged. The Council of Trent in 1551 supported this method of reconciliation by pushing the idea of individual penance to the forefront of Christian practice. Through this, the idea of reconciliation was given greater importance to the individual as well as the community as the focus became shifted from the forgiveness of sins to a renewed sense of rebuilding ones relationship with God. This is the same conclusion reached by the Vatican II in 1964 and is still predominant in Christian practice today. While it is evident that the sacrament of reconciliation has changed over time, the underlying meanings and core intentions behind the practice remain the same. That is, Christians who have sinned are given a path to which they can be forgiven for their sins in order reconcile their relationship with God and the Church. Through this, each element of the sacrament of penance is given importance, as they directly correlate to the core beliefs behind the development of the sacrament. The three predominant parts of the sacrament of reconciliation include the contrition, confession and the act of penance. What happens if one of those gears may get stuck? Starting in the early 1970s, middle and working class wages in America stagnated. From the 1970s to today, the average hourly wage has only risen 9 percent (Saez) while the dollar has inflated approximately five hundred and five percent (US Inflation Calculator). These wages have continued to stagnate as the top twenty percent wealthiest Americans have had their wages quadrupled since the 1980s (Inequality.org). • 43. Analysis Of Anna Deavere Smith s Fires In The Mirror My sense is that American character lives not in one place or the other, but in the gaps between the places, and in our struggle to be together in our differences, (Anna Deavere Smith). Anna Deavere Smith in her play, Fires in the Mirror, takes two different cultural communities and interviews their standpoint of the conflict at hand. The underlying racism present in this community is soon brewed into a pandemonium once the death of both a Black and Jewish individual take place. Fires in the Mirror is a social drama that presents a breach as several Jewish males accidentally kill a young Black boy in a car accident. Due to this incident, it causes a crisis within the community as a Jewish man is later murdered by Black males to pursue revenge for the cause of this breach. With a social drama following the guideline to find a redressive action to limit the spread of the breach, Smith in her interviews portrays that this community fails to do so. Because of this, the reintegration becomes an irreparable breach between the two. Consequently, due to the social clash between the Black and Jewish communities, the city of Crown Heights becomes socially segregated. Individuals interviewed in this play are heavily indulged in looking at what segregates them from one another that it leads to individuals pointing fault or playing victim, which inevitably will never lead to a resolution to this social crisis.
