This circuit uses a 555 timer IC to create an adjustable 1-10 minute timer. It has green and red LEDs and a bleeper to indicate when the timed period is complete. The time period is set using a variable resistor which adjusts the charge of a 220uF capacitor. When the capacitor finishes charging, the green LED turns off, red LED and bleeper turn on to signal the end of the timed period. Components can vary and cause the maximum time to extend to about 10 minutes instead of the intended 41⁄2 minutes.
