Analysis Of The Film Waco-Rules Of Engagement
A cult, a term widely utilized within popular culture and American society to describe contemporary,
arguably, religious groups has garnered an extremely negative stigma. These media portrayed,
dangerous groups have over time been accumulating and growing amongst other religions. It is
definite that though, historically, these cults have been victims of marginalization, invalidation of their
beliefs and media/government harassment, many of these organizations are minimally nothing of the
demonized ameliorated image, that is enveloped by American society. Hence, from this point forward,
within the briefing piece , it is only with a deep understanding/a religious study interpretation to
acknowledge these groups as new religious movements (NRMs). As a standoff between the FBI and
the religious organization is inevitable, considering illegal acts may be occurring within the NRM, it is
with a better approach to look at the film Waco Rules of Engagement , directed by Amy Sommer, to
avoid any unlawful procedures that could possible occur with the group. Additionally, by gaining
insight with the help of Catherine L. Wessinger s article, How the Millennium Comes Violent the
agency could better handle the situation and avoid the effects of acting too hostile against the
organization. Apparent through watching the entirety of the film, Waco Rules of Engagement ,
extreme measures were enacted upon The Branch Davidians religious followers of David Koresh, by

Hansel Short Story
Near a great forest there lived a poor woodcutter and his wife, and his two children; the boy s name
was Hansel and the girl s Grethel. They had very little to bite or to sup, and once, when there was
great dearth in the land, the man could not even gain the daily bread. As he lay in bed one night
thinking of this, and turning and tossing, he sighed heavily, and said to his wife, What will become of
us? we cannot even feed our children; there is nothing left for ourselves.
I will tell you what, husband, answered the wife; we will take the children early in the morning into
the forest, where it is thickest; we will make them a fire, and we will give each of them a piece of
bread, then we will go to our work and leave them alone; they will never find the way home again,
and we shall be quit of them.
No, wife, said the man, I cannot do that; I cannot find in my heart to take my children into the forest
and to leave them there alone; the wild animals would soon come and devour them. O you fool, said
she, then we will all four starve; you had better get the coffins ready, and she left him no peace until
he consented. But I really pity the poor children, said the man.
The two children had not been able to sleep for hunger, and had heard what their step mother had said
to their father. Grethel wept bitterly, and said to Hansel, It is all over with us.
Do be quiet, Grethel, said Hansel, and do not fret; 1 will manage something. And when the parents

Germanic Empires
The beginning of the Middle Ages (500 1050) can be defined by the disintegration of the Roman
Empire in the fifth century AD, the establishment of Germanic kingdoms, and the rise of Christianity.
New European civilizations emerged (Byzantine, Islam, and Western Europe) that integrated
Christian, Greco Roman, and Germanic elements. In the east, Byzantine and Islam were culturally and
economically superior to Latin Christendom, due to Germanic invasions. In the fifth century, German
tribes began to found kingdoms on what was once land that belonged to Rome. Germanic leaders,
although attracted to Roman rule and culture, were unable to maintain Greco Roman culture. The
Roman Empire had been organized around cities that were economic, cultural, and political centers.
Germanic Tribes were unprepared culturally to save the dying civilization. Urban life declined, and
shifted to a primarily rural focus. Eventually, Roman law began to fade and Greek language almost
vanished completely. During this time of cultural decline, the church rose to power, which had
retained and preserved most elements of Greco Roman civilization. The church ... Show more content

Under a Roman pope known as Gregory the Great (590 604), the papacy strengthened its authority
over monks and bishops and sent missionaries to England to make alliances with the Anglo Saxons
and the Franks. The idea of a universal empire reemerged under Charlemagne, who ruled the Frankish
kingdom from 768 to 814. His empire encompassed most of western and central Europe. He was
crowned emperor of the Romans on Christmas Day in the year 800, a title that signified the resonance
of the Roman Empire despite its degradation. Also, by crowning a German ruler as Roman emperor by
the head of the Christian church, it represented the cultural blending of the early medieval era.
Although Charlemagne presided over the rebirth of European civilization, his empire crumbled after

Compare And Contrast Two Teacher And Montessorel
For this assessment I am required to undertake an essay on two educational theorists that if have
studied in this case the two educational theorists are Maria Montessori and Frederick Froebel. This
will involve an in depth evaluation and comparison of the two theorists under the following headings
their philosophies, their contribution to early childhood education in terms of their approach and
implementation and my personal thoughts on their approaches to helping the development of young
children but also in educating young children.
Philosophies
Maria Montessori approach had respect for children as individuals. She monitored the children s
reaction through their primary senses such as self confidence and independence and their natural
curiosity to learn. She observed in young children the situation she called absorbent mind. Children
learn from their everyday surroundings. The most important period of life is not the age of university
studies but the period of birth to age six . She studied that between conception to age four 50% of
mature intelligence is developed and from ages four to eight 30% is developed. in Montessori schools

She did not believe in testing children as it would damage and portray negative thoughts in their
minds. Children are in control of their own environments, which has dramatically prepared for them to
be stimulating, comfortable and to encourage independence by giving them the tools and
responsibility to manage its upkeep. This is a child centred approach. When Maria noticed that
equipment and furnishings were only suitable for adults she designed her own ones suitable for
children. Today they are used in all Montessori schools [O Shea,

Betas Enjoyment Research Paper
Most schools have lots of after school activities like band, sports, and JROTC. Some students are
active in these, while others are not. One club students prefer is Junior Beta. Students Enjoy Jr. Beta
because of meetings, service, and convention. When starting beta the meetings are always first.
Students will go to their group spot where ever that is and have meetings. These meetings are either to
set up service appointments, convention sign ups, and some that are fun. Near Christmas time though
students will work overtime for a chance to win. These meetings many students enjoy for the
flexibility of what s done so it is not the same.Service is another key theme for Betas Enjoyment. For

Writings Involvement with Self and Society The self is expressed in a multitude of ways ranging from
speeches to television as well as writing. Not only that but as human beings it is instinctual to make an
observation and write it down, but we tend to add our own personal view as to what we believe, or
interpret something entirely else from the observation. By reading Karen Ho s Biographies of
Hegemony and Jean Twenge s An Army of One: Me essays as well as Robert Thurman s Wisdom it is
evident that each employed a distinctive argument and method to explain their views on what they

Einstein s Bagels Business Analysis
Introduction:
Most Americans when they walk into a restaurant or fast food place will immediately notice the
ambiance of the place. If the ambiance is not welcoming or new, a lot of people would choose to just
go someplace else. The visual appeal of a restaurant or any food place is huge to our desire to eat at
that certain place. Einstein s Bagels has hundreds of locations across the U.S. and some of those
locations are in need to a renovation. Renovations to some stores that are in need of a renovation
would bring in a lot of business and even more returning customers.

My Last Duchess By Robert Browning
My Last Duchess
The dramatic monologue My Last Duchess was penned down by Robert Browning. In this poem, the
narrator is the Duke of Ferrara, and the listener is the count s agent, through whom the Duke is
arranging the proposed marriage to a second duchess. The poem is ironical and reveals its rhetorical
sense, gradually. In the later part of the poem, the Duke claims that he does not have a skill in speech,
but his monologue is a masterpiece of subtle rhetoric. While supposedly entertaining the listener by
showing his wife s portrait, he clearly reveals his character. Through his formalized tone of rhyme, he
reveals his egoistic and jealous attitude.
The Duke takes control of the situation entirely as he is the only speaker throughout the poem and his
way of speaking leaves no scope for interruption, by the listener. The way he addresses his listener,
That s my last duchess , calls attention to the peculiarity of his designation which he indicates in a
very proud manner. The apparent pauses throughout the poem, shown by dashes, indicate hesitation as
the Duke considers what to say. This clearly suggests his manipulative attitude. As soon as he points
towards the standing portrait of his last wife, he asks his listener to sit down Will t please you sit and
look at her? His way of asking is not very polite and is more of a command which shows the
psychology of a man with power.
As he starts describing the portrait, he praises the painter Fra Pandolf, for

Inherit The Wind Change Is Good Quotes
Change is Good A major theme in Inherit The Wind is the freedom of thought. This is a very new
principle in their time period and not a lot of people are ready accept it. The whole play is based on the
fact that people cannot think in a new way. They were all taught from the Bible and that is the only
way they may think. If they think in a different way there are serious consequences, such as jail time.
This play challenges the old way of thinking with a new approach that leads to the trail of a school
teacher. The quote above shows how people were scared to think because they were afraid they would
be wrong and be punished. Rachel decided to just not think at all because she knew she could not be
wrong. The school teacher Bert Cates

The sandinista Revolution Essay
During the forty three year Somoza dictatorship a revolution was proved inevitable. During the period
of the Somoza regime many conflicts between the government and the people arose. Some of these
conflicts were mainly with the National Guard, but in 1978 conflicts hit its climax. In 1978, Pedro
Joaquin Chamorro, a salient newspaper editor and leader to the Somoza opposition was assassinated;
it is believed that by one of Somoza s business man. This mans death gave a deep feeling of
commotion throughout the country, establishing a nation wide strike against the Somoza government.
The National Guard responded to the attacks by assassinating many civilians and violating many
others rights.

This victory sparked the general population, many uprisings followed. The National Guard did not
react well to these uprisings; many massacres came, and this made the general population angry. This
gave the Sandinistas an advantage; they were gaining many recruits for their revolution, and the
business class of Nicaragua supported the idea of ones again calling to a general national strike.
Negations to take Somoza out of power were developed by the United States, but these efforts where
crushed when Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Panama joined Cuban efforts and supported the Sandinistas.
The majority of the business class then decided that despite their Communist ideals, the Sandinistas
were the best option that they had, and supported them. On July, 19, 1979 Somoza was forced to
resign, and a forty three year dynasty came to an end. The government was the turned over to the
Council of National Reconstruction, which was selected by the Sandinistas.
The Sandinistas had appointed a broad based cabinet which included non Sandinistas to rebuild a
destroyed nation. Their goals were mainly to improve healthcare, literacy and land reforms for the
poor. It did not take much time to prove that power rested only on the Sandinistas. By 1980, all non
Sandinista leaders had left the government. The relation with the Catholic Church deteriorated greatly,
and the relation with the United States had been blocked. In

Types Of Generating Income And The Availability Of The...
Due to the various forms of generating income and the availability to generate it in various
incorporated organizations within these different governments, legislation has tried to enact tax
treaties with them. A tax treaty is an agreement made between two governing bodies, allowing
individuals to determine what income producing items are considered taxable, in which country, and
whether or not the primary country will allow a credit for foreign taxes paid or if they will be
subjected to double taxation ( tax treaty ). Tax treaties, were developed with the purpose of avoiding
double taxation on worldwide income as well as tax evasion by resident individuals earning income
from abroad. South Africa currently has a tax treaty with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If the Internal Revenue Code allows for a deduction in the computation of taxable income of a resident
of South Africa, it is also allowed in the convention. Also, the tax burden of the resident of the
contracted state may not increase beyond the domestic burden; if it is not considered taxable within
the internal law, it may not be considered a right to tax based on the convention. There is no obligation
for the taxpayer s liability to be determined by the convention between the United States and South
Africa. The concept of the most beneficial outcome without the attempt to integrate the best aspects of
both options must be considered; however the choice must be made to use one of the two and not a
mixture. The treaty allows for the United States to tax its residents and citizens as if there were no
treaty in place. The reference to citizens includes former citizens or long term residents whose loss of
their status was for the purpose of tax avoidance; they would be considered a citizen for tax purposes
if they were a lawful permanent resident in 8 of the previous 15 taxable years. However, the US has
protected its citizens from the benefits in the taxable areas of associated enterprises and pensions and

Decisions were made by a jury of twelve elected copyholders, sworn. In any contested case, unless an
agreement was made outside the court, an inquisition would be held in which the jury would make a

Ordeal by battle was when two nobles fought, usually until one of them died. The winner was

Literary Techniques Of Mark Twain
Mark twain was an aspiring author during the late 19th century. He wrote many story s that created a
variety of emotions between the people who read them from his broad irreverent humor, biting social
satire to his up forth hatred of hypocrisy and oppression. During this literary time period twain wrote
about realism, relating to what was going on and what he witnessed around him or writing how
something actually is instead of covering it up, which was one of his best qualities causing a lot of
people to ban and dislike his work. Two of Twain s best works that really speak for how he wrote that

The human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common causes of sexually transmitted disease
in both men and women around the world, especially in developing countries, where the occurrence of
asymptomatic infection varies from 2 to 44%, depending on the population and studied region. Most
HPV infection is transient and some studies show that the majority of sexually active individuals are
exposed to and acquire infection from this virus at some phase in their lives. HPV infection is more
prevalent in young adults, at the beginning of their sexual activity, which is more important to detect
the virus at the early edge to prevent from the most damages in the later of life that leads to less
impact in the economy in their country and family too. with a subsequent decline in the prevalence
rate with increasing age, likely as a result of development of an immune response against the virus and
reduction of sexual activity. At a molecular level, HPV positive squamous cell carcinoma less

has a unique molecular signature characterized by overexpression of the tumour suppressor protein

Colonel Denny, supports this. However, there are immense complexities when it comes to charging
active duty soldiers with murder during battle. In the end, the defendants are found guilty of executing
the prisoners and are sentenced to death, but Witton s sentence was reduced to life in penal servitude
(Breaker Morant). This case often raises a debate about whether or not the men should have been
charged with murder during war time, when orders were not clearly defined. Based on Kant s
Categorical Imperative ethical model, if I was acting as the fifth judge in this case, I would find the
men guilty. This is because a person who utilizes the Kantian view believes that the only pure good is
pure human reason without consequences. This pure human reason works without the influence of
human emotions and desires. A truly good act, as defined by Kant, is performed because of an
obligation to the categorical imperative. Therefore, the objectives and personal agendas of the
individual performing the act must be kept separate. For this reason alone, Morant could have been
found guilty. He could have ignored the verbal orders to kill prisoners, or

Abstract: The purpose of this experiment was to synthesize, isolate, purify and characterize
acetanilide. Acetanilide was purified via recrystallization and its purity was checked using its melting
range and thin layer chromatography. Our results yielded a very pure product.
Introduction: This molecule is primarily noted for its antipyretic and analgesic properties because the
human body metabolizes it mostly to paracetamol. However, due to its high toxicity it is no longer
administered as a drug on its own, it is mainly used in the synthesis and manufacture of other drugs.
Hazards include: acute oral toxicity, reproductive toxicity and it is also found to be harmful to aquatic
life. Its IUPAC name is N phenylacetamide. The synthesis below, depicts aniline reacting with acetic

Employee Engagement From A Human Capital Management
A discussion about employee engagement from a human capital management perspective would not
be complete without some reference to compensation. Employees must consider their compensation to
be fair and competitive. Otherwise, employees will either not be motivated to exert the discretionary
efforts put forth by more highly engaged employees or worse still; they will leave the organization
(Bersin, Becoming Irresistible, 2015). Therefore, organizations must pay attention to the area of
compensation management first and foremost before tackling other areas of human capital
management. However, compensation can also be used as a tool in improving specific areas to
influence engagement positively. For example, reward programs should incentivize managers to coach
and mentor high potential talent or compensation could also be linked to engagement levels at the
departmental level.
The Human Capital Management classes and specifically my deeper drive into the topic employee
engagement is very timely for the organization that I lead. As a small medical practice with limited
resources, conducting employee engagement survey s is normally beyond the reach of our budget.

Essay On Bureaucrats
Federal bureaucrats can slow down or stall a president s agenda by claiming lack of knowledge or by
using interests groups. Bureau chiefs can claim they do not have enough information to make a
decision, especially a decision involving other bureaus. By doing this, they are claiming then need
more time to investigate, which slows the president s policies. By using interest groups, bureaucrats
can go through Congress. This interest groups plead to their Senators and House reps, which takes
longer to have the president s policies in place by law. They can also sabotage a president s agenda by
leaking unauthorized information. This reduces the president s credibility and forces people to think
about the effect of the new information on the policies. Bureaucrats would do these things, because
they support their burea more than the president. These bureaucrats sincerely believe in their bureau s
purpose and feel they must protect its jurisdiction, programs, and budget at all costs (Heclo 275).

the one hand there is a physical process: the body s reaction to heat, and on the other hand, there is a
mental effect : the experience of heat like being thirsty. The relationship between the two situations
has been the source of many debates within ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My own sympathies, supported by arguments like the completeness of physics (Papineau, 2001)
among others and empirical research is with the physicalist approach. However, one of the problems
with physicalism is its reductivism. For example, there is the claim that consciousness is no more than
a brain process (Smart, 1959); however, the problem of these reductive approaches is to find the
physical process or the physical laws that can explain the mental in those terms. There are strong
arguments against such reduction: (Putnam, 1967, Davidson, 1970, Fodor, 1974) with the ideas of
multiple realizability, special sciences and anomalous monism are all critical of reductive views,
consequently a form of physicalism in non reductive terms is not just plausible, but a promissory
alternative of understanding the mental in physical terms; for instance, Baker (2008) suggests that
nonreductive materialism holds that the mental is ontologically part of the material world; yet, mental
properties are causally efficacious without being reducible to physical properties (Baker, 2009, p.
109).
It is argued in this thesis that physicalist ontology can be secure without the constraints and problems
of reductionism, through this non reductive physicalism (NRP for short). Moreover, if identity theory
can be reconciled with a view such as functionalism then non reductive physicalism can be argue it is

Personal Narrative Essay About Being In Sea Water
Noah was born on January 20, 2006. He was a few weeks early, and weighed in at only 5 lbs., 4 oz.
He showed early on what a fighter he is. He is my hero C.A.F.
I married a fish.
Now don t think I am insulting my dear spouse, implying that she looks like a slimy creature that
spends its life in the sea. I am simply trying to illustrate that C is all about being in the water at every
opportunity at her disposal.
The true irony of the situation is that while she acts like a fish, she despises seafood. It s a pity because
seafood is one of life s great pleasures.
In her high school years (what we like to call the Neolithic period) she was on her swim team, and to
my understanding was damned good. When we built our first (and most likely ... Show more content

without the kids before the pool closed for the season. I believe she was in her 2nd Trimester, not that
anyone could tell she was with child since she wasn t showing at the time.
I was at work that day, so I am going to describe what took place as best as I can recall from the story
she told me. She was finishing up a swim and was getting out of the pool, and the concrete area
around the pool was slicker than she expected. She took one step, and the next thing she knew she had
taken a hard sit down on her backside. C doesn t take being embarrassed well. While I like to be silly,
she is definitely the adult in the relationship (as most women would probably agree is the norm).
Normally if something like this happens, she would look around to make sure no one noticed before
acting as if nothing happened. However, her thoughts immediately focused on the health of our

Patrick Henry Speech
The reason Patrick Henry orated the speech, Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death, is to convince the
House of Burgesses that there is no other alternative but war. Henry starts off by acknowledging the
patriotism and abilities of the men who spoke before, and against him. Henry goes on to persuade his
audience by use of rhetorical questions and comparisons to religious beliefs. Henry s speech was very

Sectionalism In The Early 1800s
The ideas of nationalism and sectionalism in the early 1800s played a large role in the presidential
elections leading up to the Civil War. Nationalism is when the population of a nation has love for their
country put their country first. Sectionalism is when the population identifies more with the ideals of
their region more than they identify with the nation as a whole. Please two ideas would become the
basis of the Missouri compromise, the Monroe doctrine, and this establishment of new political parties
in the United States during the early 1800s. The conflict between the ideas of nationalism and
sectionalism came in part from the practice of slavery. In the Missouri Compromise is a key example
of this the Missouri compromise Set boundaries

Overcoming Adversity In The Three Ways To Overcoming...
Before getting back up after you fall you have to gather all your strength and push whatever made you
fall harder.Every time you fall the same solution might not work so you have to be stubborn and keep
an attitude that tells your challenger Try your best shot, and that if you fall you won t be gone for
long.People overcome obstacles in less than three ways the three ways are by keeping a positive
attitude, being determined, and lastly being a creative problem solver. First,in ways, people overcome
obstacles is keeping a positive attitude since when you have a positive attitude you are harder to
discourage. An example of positive attitude while facing adversity would be in the text A work in
progress where Aimee Mullin faces her adversity with humor like when she broke her wooden leg and
while all the other people in that room were freaking out all she could think about was that her parents
were going to kill her.I chose this example because out of all the stories we read in class about facing
adversity Aimee Mullin struck me as the most positive about her obstacle. It s important because it
shows my point that with a positive attitude you don t get discouraged as easily and like Aimee Mullin
you can achieve whatever you wish no matter your adversity.Another example from A work in
progress that shows positive attitude would be when Aimee Mullin got her new legs and was stating
all the good qualities about her legs instead of being like oh I don t this about them or

Emo Subculture
THE EMO SUBCULTURE
Aspects of Contemporary Society
Emo, short for Emotional; this group is generally constructed as a group of teenagers who desperately
try to escape the social class they have been put into. Mostly an underground scene the term Emo
began as a music genre in the mid 1980 s with a group of bands set on redefining punk rock music.
They based their music on emotions and feelings and this quickly spread throughout America. This
lasted until the early 2000 s when the bases turned to (some say) over the top emphasis on self
expression and negative connotations were implied; emotion and sadness thus stereotyping the word
we so often hear today. With this derogatory, implications followed. Emos began to be marginalized

place in society or are more ceceptable to become emo. She backs this up with further statements such

Fast Zara, Fast Fashion
Introduction
Everyone, no matter youngsters or middle aged mothers, love to buy clothes and keep updated on
latest fashion trend. In the past, people could only consume western styles clothing if they are rich
enough to go shopping by travelling in European countries or able to afford expensive air mail to send
the consumed western clothes back from overseas. However, it took a period of time and the
fashionable clothing may become old at the time received.
As the information technology grows rapidly and, at the same time, trend of globalization makes the
world become flat, people in every corner of the world receive updated news and knowledge quickly.

Hong Kong Business Environment Hong Kong business environment is very special compared with
other cities in Asian, or even all over the world. Hong Kong was British colony for more than 150
years which has left significant influence on the population and history of Hong Kong, especially the
legal and educational foundation. Unlike long term orientation held in Chinese, Hong Kong people
tend to have a short term orientation, i.e. short term measures and quick profits.
Although we are influence deeply by Chinese values through traditional family education and parents
and elderly, Hong Kong people see themselves a mixture of Eastern and Western values, cultures and
practices. This might be because most of the business leaders have been educated abroad or have
graduated from local business schools which emphasize lot on Western business theories (Holt and
Mailer, 1992). Such uniqueness makes culture driven analysis worthy to Hong Kong people.

My Life With My Grandmother
One summer, when I was 11, I lived with my grandma. I was a very adventurous child and my
grandma lives in the very south side of Laredo, so whenever I would go outside, she would make my
older cousin would go with me. To keep me from going toward street, she would tell me that there was
a 1,700 year old creature called The Ripper that would take small children, rip them of their skin, and
eat their remains. Supposedly, it was snake like with faded blue and green scales, arms and legs with
six claws each, full blazing yellow eyes, and a long tail with three rows of four sharp spikes. As you
can tell, my grandma was really graphic and dramatic. In a way, her graphicness worked and kept me
away from the street. She would tell my that if I had ever went to the street and it took me, she would
never be able to get over the anguish she would feel. I was always so curious on where the creature
lived; a house, on the streets, in the drains. My mission was to find out where it lived, and defeat it. I
was really intimidated by it, but I knew that with my strength and confidence, I could do great things.
Such as, defeat the old creature.
One windy Friday night, my grandma said she needed to go to the grocery store to pick up some
materials for dinner. My grandma, like almost all others, can take up to two whole hours at the grocery
store just walking around and trying to make decisions about what to get. Her going to the store was
the perfect opportunity for me to explore. I looked

Pet Food Recall Of Pet Pets
I remember the first night the news announced the pet food recall. I jumped up and got online quickly
to make sure the food I feed my pets was not on the list. Thank goodness it wasn t. But that doesn t
mean that I don t still worry about it. I m still feeding them the same food, but I am watching my pets
very closely for any abnormal behavior at all. I m sure many pet owners are doing the same. But I did
decide I could do one thing for my dogs and that is to make them some dog biscuits myself. That way,
I know what is going into the ingredients and if anything is tainted, it will make me sick, too. Most of
the ingredients for these homemade dog biscuits are items already in my kitchen. A few years ago, my
sister had given me a dog biscuit set. I ve used it a couple of times, then put it up and forgot about it.
Now, I ve pulled it out again. The company s name is You Bake Em Dog Biscuits with P.C. Edge s
World Famous Recipes . It came with three cookie cutters: a fire hydrant, a bone and of course a cat. It
also included a mini book with tips on caring for your dog and several recipes. Making them is simple
and quick, so I thought I d share a few of the recipes. Dog Treat Special (10 bark rating) 1 lb. raw beef

may also benefit from offering these plans and retain employees. While having a long term investment
option is important to employees, they also look for options where they can save money and use it
within the current year for expenses that may occur. Flexible spending accounts have pros and cons
that a company should be aware of and note before they decide if it is a benefit they can offer.

Offering tuition assistance can also be a positive to a company as they can use the costs as a business
expense which will, in turn, help lower the amount of taxes they will have to pay in (. There are limits
as to how much a company can write off as a business expense in this case. While it is great allowing
employees to flourish and grow in knowledge, it can also have a negative effect on the employees and
the business. Unless employees are given time to take classes during work, they will be taking classes
outside of work, which can lead to them being stressed and overwhelmed. Employees will be putting
in long hours in school and not be spending as much time with their family or doing non work related
activities. Employees may also come to work tired, not motivated, and become less productive
because of this. There is also the chance that employees can take classes and then leave the company.
Not only does the employee get to keep all of their knowledge, but that will also require the company
to hire on a new employee for the position and have the employee trained which will cost money.
Employers may be concerned about losing their employees with great knowledge and skills, just as
they could lose employees due to employees starting a

Casey At The Bat Essay
In the poem Casey at the bat and the story of David and Goliath a comparison shows that there are
many differences in the story and the poem and many similarities. The first similarity between Casey

David stated I ll knock you down and cut off your head, this quote shows that David had all faith that
he would beat Goliath. Also in the poem Casey at the bat Casey had faith that he would win. This is

The Dummy task for my job is obtaining the Permit to Work and gathering all the tools required to

them was needed to sign the PTW as one of them was assisting. The other Dummy task was making

same time as they are done by two different groups of people. This second group of Dummy task also

would not be affected as it could be started at a later time and would not therefore affect the critical

The Atomic Weight Of The Unknown Barium Carbonate
In this lab experiment, an unknown metal carbonate went through a chemical reaction with 1.0 M
barium chloride, forming products of barium carbonate and an alkali metal chloride. The unknown
alkali metal carbonate also went through a chemical reaction with 1 M hydrochloric acid, forming an
alkali metal chloride, with liquid water, and carbon dioxide gas as products. A final flame test was
done to reveal what the unknown alkali metal was. Once all molar masses were calculated, the masses
were extremely varied, ranging from 37.061 grams per mol to 133.110 grams per mol. When the flame
test was performed, yellow orange colored flames appeared, revealing that the unknown alkali metal
carbonate was sodium carbonate.
The purpose of this experiment was to use different type of tests to determine the atomic weight for
the unknown alkali metal carbonate along with determining which alkali metal it is. The first test
consisted of reacting the aqueous metal carbonate with barium chloride in a precipitation reaction [1
M2(CO3) + 1 BaCl2 → 1 Ba(CO3) + 2 MCl]. The product of this reaction is barium carbonate, which
is isolated and later weighed by using filter paper and a Buchner funnel with vacuum filtration. When
weighed, the barium carbonate can be converted to moles of the unknown carbonate and grams per
mol of the unknown alkali metal carbonate can be calculated. The second reaction consisted of
reacting the unknown carbonate (a base) with hydrochloric acid (an acid) to form

  • 2. Analysis Of The Film Waco-Rules Of Engagement A cult, a term widely utilized within popular culture and American society to describe contemporary, arguably, religious groups has garnered an extremely negative stigma. These media portrayed, dangerous groups have over time been accumulating and growing amongst other religions. It is definite that though, historically, these cults have been victims of marginalization, invalidation of their beliefs and media/government harassment, many of these organizations are minimally nothing of the demonized ameliorated image, that is enveloped by American society. Hence, from this point forward, within the briefing piece , it is only with a deep understanding/a religious study interpretation to acknowledge these groups as new religious movements (NRMs). As a standoff between the FBI and the religious organization is inevitable, considering illegal acts may be occurring within the NRM, it is with a better approach to look at the film Waco Rules of Engagement , directed by Amy Sommer, to avoid any unlawful procedures that could possible occur with the group. Additionally, by gaining insight with the help of Catherine L. Wessinger s article, How the Millennium Comes Violent the agency could better handle the situation and avoid the effects of acting too hostile against the organization. Apparent through watching the entirety of the film, Waco Rules of Engagement , extreme measures were enacted upon The Branch Davidians religious followers of David Koresh, by the ATF. By ... • 3. Hansel Short Story Near a great forest there lived a poor woodcutter and his wife, and his two children; the boy s name was Hansel and the girl s Grethel. They had very little to bite or to sup, and once, when there was great dearth in the land, the man could not even gain the daily bread. As he lay in bed one night thinking of this, and turning and tossing, he sighed heavily, and said to his wife, What will become of us? we cannot even feed our children; there is nothing left for ourselves. I will tell you what, husband, answered the wife; we will take the children early in the morning into the forest, where it is thickest; we will make them a fire, and we will give each of them a piece of bread, then we will go to our work and leave them alone; they will never find the way home again, and we shall be quit of them. No, wife, said the man, I cannot do that; I cannot find in my heart to take my children into the forest and to leave them there alone; the wild animals would soon come and devour them. O you fool, said she, then we will all four starve; you had better get the coffins ready, and she left him no peace until he consented. But I really pity the poor children, said the man. The two children had not been able to sleep for hunger, and had heard what their step mother had said to their father. Grethel wept bitterly, and said to Hansel, It is all over with us. Do be quiet, Grethel, said Hansel, and do not fret; 1 will manage something. And when the parents had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Germanic Empires The beginning of the Middle Ages (500 1050) can be defined by the disintegration of the Roman Empire in the fifth century AD, the establishment of Germanic kingdoms, and the rise of Christianity. New European civilizations emerged (Byzantine, Islam, and Western Europe) that integrated Christian, Greco Roman, and Germanic elements. In the east, Byzantine and Islam were culturally and economically superior to Latin Christendom, due to Germanic invasions. In the fifth century, German tribes began to found kingdoms on what was once land that belonged to Rome. Germanic leaders, although attracted to Roman rule and culture, were unable to maintain Greco Roman culture. The Roman Empire had been organized around cities that were economic, cultural, and political centers. Germanic Tribes were unprepared culturally to save the dying civilization. Urban life declined, and shifted to a primarily rural focus. Eventually, Roman law began to fade and Greek language almost vanished completely. During this time of cultural decline, the church rose to power, which had retained and preserved most elements of Greco Roman civilization. The church ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Under a Roman pope known as Gregory the Great (590 604), the papacy strengthened its authority over monks and bishops and sent missionaries to England to make alliances with the Anglo Saxons and the Franks. The idea of a universal empire reemerged under Charlemagne, who ruled the Frankish kingdom from 768 to 814. His empire encompassed most of western and central Europe. He was crowned emperor of the Romans on Christmas Day in the year 800, a title that signified the resonance of the Roman Empire despite its degradation. Also, by crowning a German ruler as Roman emperor by the head of the Christian church, it represented the cultural blending of the early medieval era. Although Charlemagne presided over the rebirth of European civilization, his empire crumbled after his death in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Compare And Contrast Two Teacher And Montessorel For this assessment I am required to undertake an essay on two educational theorists that if have studied in this case the two educational theorists are Maria Montessori and Frederick Froebel. This will involve an in depth evaluation and comparison of the two theorists under the following headings their philosophies, their contribution to early childhood education in terms of their approach and implementation and my personal thoughts on their approaches to helping the development of young children but also in educating young children. Philosophies Maria Montessori approach had respect for children as individuals. She monitored the children s reaction through their primary senses such as self confidence and independence and their natural curiosity to learn. She observed in young children the situation she called absorbent mind. Children learn from their everyday surroundings. The most important period of life is not the age of university studies but the period of birth to age six . She studied that between conception to age four 50% of mature intelligence is developed and from ages four to eight 30% is developed. in Montessori schools the teacher in the classroom allows every child to pick activities which interest them [Montessori country school, 2017]. ... Children are in control of their own environments, which has dramatically prepared for them to be stimulating, comfortable and to encourage independence by giving them the tools and responsibility to manage its upkeep. This is a child centred approach. When Maria noticed that equipment and furnishings were only suitable for adults she designed her own ones suitable for children. • 6. Betas Enjoyment Research Paper Most schools have lots of after school activities like band, sports, and JROTC. Some students are active in these, while others are not. One club students prefer is Junior Beta. Students Enjoy Jr. Beta because of meetings, service, and convention. When starting beta the meetings are always first. Students will go to their group spot where ever that is and have meetings. These meetings are either to set up service appointments, convention sign ups, and some that are fun. Near Christmas time though students will work overtime for a chance to win. These meetings many students enjoy for the flexibility of what s done so it is not the same.Service is another key theme for Betas Enjoyment. • 7. 5th Paper Final Draft Julian Malile Professor Tommasi Expository Writing 2 December 2014 Writings Involvement with Self and Society The self is expressed in a multitude of ways ranging from speeches to television as well as writing. Not only that but as human beings it is instinctual to make an observation and write it down, but we tend to add our own personal view as to what we believe, or interpret something entirely else from the observation. By reading Karen Ho s Biographies of Hegemony and Jean Twenge s An Army of One: Me essays as well as Robert Thurman s Wisdom it is evident that each employed a distinctive argument and method to explain their views on what they wrote but what each of them shared in common was how their writing allowed their ... By Ho showing the mindset behind these people to the public she helped bring society to the realization that the investment bankers although obtained knowledge at these elite institutions they, investment bankers, are not very different from the rest of society. The students, investment bankers as well as the rest of society are placed on a level playing field and in turn Ho brings them all together as well as her self . In addition to revealing to people what the true self of others was, Jean Twenge explains in An Army of One: Me that the self is changing with generation after another specifically in the twentieth century. Twenge argues that over the second half of the twentieth century, American s have become more about individual celebration rather than the being worried about other. • 9. My Last Duchess By Robert Browning My Last Duchess The dramatic monologue My Last Duchess was penned down by Robert Browning. In this poem, the narrator is the Duke of Ferrara, and the listener is the count s agent, through whom the Duke is arranging the proposed marriage to a second duchess. The poem is ironical and reveals its rhetorical sense, gradually. In the later part of the poem, the Duke claims that he does not have a skill in speech, but his monologue is a masterpiece of subtle rhetoric. While supposedly entertaining the listener by showing his wife s portrait, he clearly reveals his character. Through his formalized tone of rhyme, he reveals his egoistic and jealous attitude. The Duke takes control of the situation entirely as he is the only speaker throughout the poem and his way of speaking leaves no scope for interruption, by the listener. The way he addresses his listener, That s my last duchess , calls attention to the peculiarity of his designation which he indicates in a very proud manner. The apparent pauses throughout the poem, shown by dashes, indicate hesitation as the Duke considers what to say. This clearly suggests his manipulative attitude. As soon as he points towards the standing portrait of his last wife, he asks his listener to sit down Will t please you sit and look at her? His way of asking is not very polite and is more of a command which shows the psychology of a man with power. As he starts describing the portrait, he praises the painter Fra Pandolf, for ... • 11. Inherit The Wind Change Is Good Quotes Change is Good A major theme in Inherit The Wind is the freedom of thought. This is a very new principle in their time period and not a lot of people are ready accept it. The whole play is based on the fact that people cannot think in a new way. They were all taught from the Bible and that is the only way they may think. If they think in a different way there are serious consequences, such as jail time. This play challenges the old way of thinking with a new approach that leads to the trail of a school teacher. During the period of the Somoza regime many conflicts between the government and the people arose. Some of these conflicts were mainly with the National Guard, but in 1978 conflicts hit its climax. Negations to take Somoza out of power were developed by the United States, but these efforts where crushed when Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Panama joined Cuban efforts and supported the Sandinistas. The majority of the business class then decided that despite their Communist ideals, the Sandinistas were the best option that they had, and supported them. On July, 19, 1979 Somoza was forced to resign, and a forty three year dynasty came to an end. The government was the turned over to the Council of National Reconstruction, which was selected by the Sandinistas. The Sandinistas had appointed a broad based cabinet which included non Sandinistas to rebuild a destroyed nation. Their goals were mainly to improve healthcare, literacy and land reforms for the poor. It did not take much time to prove that power rested only on the Sandinistas. By 1980, all non Sandinista leaders had left the government. The relation with the Catholic Church deteriorated greatly, and the relation with the United States had been blocked. In ... • 19. Employee Engagement From A Human Capital Management A discussion about employee engagement from a human capital management perspective would not be complete without some reference to compensation. Employees must consider their compensation to be fair and competitive. Otherwise, employees will either not be motivated to exert the discretionary efforts put forth by more highly engaged employees or worse still; they will leave the organization (Bersin, Becoming Irresistible, 2015). Therefore, organizations must pay attention to the area of compensation management first and foremost before tackling other areas of human capital management. However, compensation can also be used as a tool in improving specific areas to influence engagement positively. For example, reward programs should incentivize managers to coach and mentor high potential talent or compensation could also be linked to engagement levels at the departmental level. For example, there is the claim that consciousness is no more than a brain process (Smart, 1959); however, the problem of these reductive approaches is to find the physical process or the physical laws that can explain the mental in those terms. There are strong arguments against such reduction: (Putnam, 1967, Davidson, 1970, Fodor, 1974) with the ideas of multiple realizability, special sciences and anomalous monism are all critical of reductive views, consequently a form of physicalism in non reductive terms is not just plausible, but a promissory alternative of understanding the mental in physical terms; for instance, Baker (2008) suggests that nonreductive materialism holds that the mental is ontologically part of the material world; yet, mental properties are causally efficacious without being reducible to physical properties (Baker, 2009, p. 109). Unless employees are given time to take classes during work, they will be taking classes outside of work, which can lead to them being stressed and overwhelmed. Employees will be putting in long hours in school and not be spending as much time with their family or doing non work related activities. Employees may also come to work tired, not motivated, and become less productive because of this. There is also the chance that employees can take classes and then leave the company. Not only does the employee get to keep all of their knowledge, but that will also require the company to hire on a new employee for the position and have the employee trained which will cost money. The intermediate survey must be completed within 3 years. Preparation for dry dock begins after the ship sails from its previous one. A dry dock list of new items is created with specification sheets describing individual jobs. These sheets are compiled into a dry dock file which some time before the due date of the docking is submitted to several dry docks for pricing. As the ship was due in for routine maintenance, one of the main jobs during this maintenance for the electrical department was to replace the Impressed Current Cathodic Protection system. It helps you identify which tasks need to be completed on time for the whole job to be done on time and it also identifies which task can be delayed if resources need to be reallocated to catch up on missed or overrunning task. The critical path for my project is as shown above. It shows the fastest time (red arrows) it would take to completely remove and replace the Cathelco Anodes and also gives a better understanding of what task need to be completed on time to make sure the job is done and completed on time without any problems. Indicate the Dummy Task: The Dummy task for my job is obtaining the Permit to Work and gathering all the tools required to start the job. These two task can be done at the same time as there are two electricians and only one of them was needed to sign the PTW as one of them was assisting. The other Dummy task was making sure everything is isolated and putting up the scaffolding. These two task can be done together at the same time as they are done by two different groups of people. This second group of Dummy task also shows that if there was a delay in gathering the tools or filling the permit to work, the following task would not be affected as it could be started at a later time and would not therefore affect the critical path. This Dummy task helps make the preparation for the job more better and also reduces the amount of time it would take to get the job started. Describe the Critical Resources: There were two ... • 36. The Atomic Weight Of The Unknown Barium Carbonate In this lab experiment, an unknown metal carbonate went through a chemical reaction with 1.0 M barium chloride, forming products of barium carbonate and an alkali metal chloride. The unknown alkali metal carbonate also went through a chemical reaction with 1 M hydrochloric acid, forming an alkali metal chloride, with liquid water, and carbon dioxide gas as products. A final flame test was done to reveal what the unknown alkali metal was. Once all molar masses were calculated, the masses were extremely varied, ranging from 37.061 grams per mol to 133.110 grams per mol. When the flame test was performed, yellow orange colored flames appeared, revealing that the unknown alkali metal carbonate was sodium carbonate. The purpose of this experiment was to use different type of tests to determine the atomic weight for the unknown alkali metal carbonate along with determining which alkali metal it is. The first test consisted of reacting the aqueous metal carbonate with barium chloride in a precipitation reaction [1 M2(CO3) + 1 BaCl2 → 1 Ba(CO3) + 2 MCl]. The product of this reaction is barium carbonate, which is isolated and later weighed by using filter paper and a Buchner funnel with vacuum filtration. When weighed, the barium carbonate can be converted to moles of the unknown carbonate and grams per mol of the unknown alkali metal carbonate can be calculated. The second reaction consisted of reacting the unknown carbonate (a base) with hydrochloric acid (an acid) to form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
