Cargo cult science is a term used by Richard Feynman to describe a method or idea

science accounts for the uncertainties found in science: it is the search for answers and
data to support theories through experimenting and looking for faults in methods.
Cargo Cult Science, however, as Feynman explains, is science that cannot benefit
society as actual science should when used correctly. Cargo cult sciences do not
occur only amongst scientists, but by anyone who improperly uses or executes
science. There are many different types of cargo cult science that each happen for
different reasons, it can be done on accident, on purpose, or caused by neglect.
Science can be altered for some form of personal gain, it can be affected by honest
mistakes, and it can be ruined by laziness and corner cutting, these are all different
ways that cargo culting occurs. An example that Feynman uses in his Cargo Cult
Science essay is how one of his scientist friends was trying to find applications for
astronomy and cosmology. After Feynman explained that there are were, the man
replied that he needs one in order to get the support to continue his research. In this
instance, the scientist is trying to make up a reason so he can conduct further
research. This is cargo culting because a fake application can alter the way people
judge the subject: causing them to support the research that they would otherwise

Imagine voluntarily getting into a cage with wild Grizzly Bears, and having
nothing to defend yourself. This is what Timothy Treadwell did, except he upped
the ante and chose to live alongside the Grizzly Bears of Katmai National Park in
Alaska. The last 13 years of Treadwell s life, he spent the summer months living with
the bears. Grizzly Manis a film that was created by Werner Herzog. The film show
contains content that Treadwell filmed himself, as well as portions filmed after
his death, that have Werner interacting with people who knew Timothy very well. I
believe that this film is very well put together and does a great job of showing
Treadwell s interactions with the bears, with minimal input from the narrator. I
enjoy this part of the film because it allows you to form your own opinion of

Magical Beasts Throughout the series of Harry Potter, many creatures appear in the
books and put into greater detail in the movies. Were these famous magical creatures
made up or compared to something similar in mythology and folklore? There are
many famous creatures throughout the story that add curiosity to one?s mind when
first reading about one. The feeling one may get is to be able to see what this
creature is capable of doing in comparison to others. In each book and movie, there
is usually a creature that Harry, Ron, and Hermione have to overcome, such as the
Basilisk in the second movie. The creatures from Harry Potter that are portrayed in
folklore are similar in many ways, yet different in others. Some creatures were
actually made up, but the most known ones, such as Fluffy and Fawkes, are
actually compared to other similar creatures. Most of these magical creatures or
sometimes referred to as ?beasts?, come from Greek and Roman mythology as
well as European mythology. The characteristics from some of the folklore
creature were kept the same while others were completely changed. One of the

aggressive thoughts and violence ratings both increased with the level of violence
