Theo James discusses his role as Four in Divergent films
1. 1. Welcome Theo! Your name seems Greek and I also
heard something about your Greek origin… You
look like a Greek man! Is it true?
-Yes! My grandfather was from Peloponnese in
Greece and he moved to New Zealand.
2. Is acting what you thought it would be, what you
hoped it would be? And what is the most difficult part
of being actor?
-In some ways yes, and in some ways no. The job is
what I expect it to be in a good but it’s very
challenging. Getting into a roll you have to go quiet
deep and there’s a lot of research to be done.
3. Oh okay! About film now.. “Divergent” is a great
successful and widespread film! How do you feel
about this?
-I’m very grateful that I play in “Divergent” I think
that is a great film.
4. Do you feel that there is more or less pressure with
these next movies?
-I always feel pressure when it comes for next movies
because I want to give my best self for everything I
do in my life.
2. 5. Working with the same people on set for these next
movies does being around people you know make it
easier or harder?
- Of course it is easier when you work with people
you know. You feel more comfortable with them
around.
6. You are one of leading actors on the film! You have
the role of Four who is the son of Evelyn Johnson and
Marcus Eaton and the instructor of the transfer
initiates. Finally, you fall in love with Tris Prior. Do
you like you role? Why?
-I’m in love with my role. My character is very
dynamic, energetic and protective.
7. Do Four and Theo have lots in common?
-Yes, I think that we have lots in common with Four.
I think both Four and me want to give all our energy
and power in everything we do.
8. Four is so named because he has four fears, which
we learn through his simulated fear landscapes. What
would be your own fear landscape?
One of my fears is getting torn apart by a great white
shark. I love the ocean, but I always have this deep
fear of getting torn by a great white.
3. 9. What is the most interesting and coolest thing you
learned about Shailene, from working with her?
-What I realized is that she’s a much better person
than I am. Shai is genuine in her way and very real.
