The Vietnam War Essay
1. The Vietnam War Essay
Crafting an essay on the Vietnam War can be a challenging endeavor, requiring a meticulous
blend of historical accuracy, critical analysis, and the ability to navigate the complex web of
events that characterized this tumultuous period. The Vietnam War was a multifaceted conflict,
encompassing political, social, and military dimensions, making it a daunting task to condense its
complexities into a coherent and engaging essay.
One of the primary challenges lies in sifting through vast amounts of information to distill key
events and themes that shaped the conflict. The war's origins, the involvement of major world
powers, and the intricate dynamics within Vietnam itself demand a comprehensive
understanding. Moreover, articulating a nuanced perspective that acknowledges the varied
motivations and consequences adds an additional layer of complexity.
The need for a well-structured and organized essay is paramount. Balancing historical context,
chronological progression, and thematic analysis requires a keen sense of narrative flow. Juggling
the perspectives of different stakeholders – including the United States, North and South
Vietnam, and the international community – adds an extra layer of intricacy.
Addressing the human aspect of the war, including the experiences of soldiers, civilians, and
anti-war activists, adds an emotional dimension that necessitates sensitivity and empathy.
Examining the cultural impact, both within Vietnam and globally, further amplifies the essay's
complexity.
Furthermore, ensuring the essay contributes to the existing body of knowledge on the Vietnam
War requires a synthesis of primary and secondary sources, drawing upon a diverse range of
historical accounts, academic analyses, and firsthand narratives.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the Vietnam War demands a deep understanding of historical
intricacies, adept analytical skills, and a commitment to presenting a nuanced perspective. It is a
task that requires thorough research, careful organization, and a dedication to capturing the
multifaceted nature of this pivotal moment in history.

2. Informative Essay On Epilepsy
Epilepsy: What is it?
Epilepsy is classified as a chronic neurological disorder characterized by repetitive
seizures. Recurring seizures are caused by disruptions in the brain s nerve cell
activity. These disruptions can result in seizures, odd behavior, strange sensations,
and in some cases blackouts or loss of consciousness. Epilepsy covers a large
spectrum of brain disorders that range from benign and minor to severe and life
threatening or disabling.
Epilepsy: Statistics
It s estimated that approximately 1 in 26 people have or will develop some type of
seizure disorder. Almost 10 percent of people are at risk for experiencing a single,
unfounded seizure in their lifetime. A single seizure doesn t constitute epilepsy.
Some seizures occur only once in a lifetime and can be caused by a variety of health

A1 Steak Sauce (Lawry s Defense) Case Analysis
Case Recap
A.1. Steak Sauce was founded in England in 1830 by King George s Chef,
Henderson William Brand and introduced to North America in the early 1900s.
The Sauce became a premier brand of Kraft Foods Inc. who acquired it from Nabisco
in 2002. (Kerin amp; Peterson, 2011, 630). A.1. Steak Sauce had done well in
sales, and was able to secure excellent margins for Kraft Foods Inc. with a market
share of approximately 50% and a brand awareness that was second to none (Kerin ...

(Kerin amp; Peterson, 2011, 631) A.1 sought to introduce and launch a new poultry
marinade item, and was planning to continue an aggressive marketing campaign
against its competitors. However, marketing the new poultry product was a failure
and A.1 had to reassess its strategies regarding the launching of new trial marinade
brands. The major challenge that A.1 based however was protecting its market
share, and brand integrity by counteracting though bold launch of a new steak
sauce product by Lawry which was cheaper, and very similar to the A.1 product.
Lawry Steak Sauce was one dollar less than A.1. Steak Sauce ($3.99 vs. $4.99),
and the Lawry product were 11 ounces whereas A.1 was 10 ounces. Lawry s
product was also similar in taste, texture and packaging as the A.1 product which
also presented a serious problem for A.1. Added to this was the fact that Lawry
introduced its new product live on an interactive cooking show which gave the
product an extra media boost. (Kerin amp; Peterson, 2011, 634) In addition to
launching a product that was able to company with A1 Steak Sauce, Lawry formed
an alliance with the supermarket Publix to launch a Memorial Day advertising
campaign offering two bottles of Lawry Steak Sauce for five dollars as a promotional
price. (Kerin amp; Peterson, 2011, 630). By using this

On May 7, 2004 I had to take my son, Darian, to see an allergy and asthma specialist

I had telephoned her numerous times throughout the week to report that the heat
was not working properly in the house and it was getting cold at night during this
time. After a week I was finally able to talk to her and she did not seem concerned
at all and she said her brother worked on heat/air units and she would call him and
get back to me. Two days went by and I had heard nothing so I called her again and
she said that she had spoken to her brother and it would be a week before he could
come look at. I then asked her what I was supposed to do in the meantime as I had
my son and my brother, who has Spina Bifida, who had to have some heat. Her
response was simply that she did not know. In my mind, I was thinking, okay I pay
you four hundred dollars a month in rent for a house with no heat. I was getting
furious at this point and told her that if I had to go stay in a hotel I was deducting
the expenses of the hotel, including the cost of food, from next month s rent. She
had nothing to say to that comment I had made to her. I then asked if she could call
anyone else and she said no that her brother did not charge her anything. Again, the
fact that I pay her rent monthly came into my thoughts. She was in no way
concerned with the welfare of my family, yet the rent from the house was probably
going toward taking care of
5. Nigeria s Production And Exportation Of Oil
While it is only the 11th largest global oil producer, Nigeria is one the most
important countries in the oil production community. Due to high quality crude oil,
potential for future oil production endeavors, accessible location to the vast Western
oil market, and continuing trend of non nationalization, Nigeria has become the
largest oil producer in sub Saharan Africa. These advantages have developed Nigeria
into a country entirely dependent on the production and exportation of oil. In 2007,
oil encompassed 99 percent of Nigerian oil exportation earnings, making up 85
percent of the governments total revenue1. Despite 400 billion dollars in total oil
revenue collected by the Nigerian government since 1970, the country faces a

In order to fully understand the mechanics of the clientalistic Nigerian oil
governeance, one must first explore the structuring of the institutions tasked with
overseeing the industry. First and foremost is the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation, or the NNPC. The NNPC is the parent company comprised of itself and
12 wholly owned subsidiaries that range from oil trade companies to petrochemical
plants. With a workforce of over 9000, the NNPC oversees operation both down and
upstream on the Niger river. The NNPC controls such a large percent through its
subsidiary the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), an
investment firm that acts as the concessionaire for the NNPC, brokering all the oil
contracts on the behalf of the Nigerian government. Utilizing its incredibly high
amount of government mandate in conjunction with its industry savvy personnel, the
NNPC has postured itself as the leading influence over the Nigerian oil sector.
Second in the pecking order is the minister of Petroleum, the official tasked with
overseeing the NNPC. A position now (and much of history prior to 1999) held by
the Nigerian president, the minister forms a tightly knit cabinet of advisors whose
will governs the majority of oil sector policy making. However, the position has lent
itself to corruption, instilling concentrated amounts of power in an institution with
6. The Reasons For The Outbreak Of The Second World War
The reasons for The Outbreak of The Second World War World War II lasted from
1939 1945, but there were a number of circumstances leading up to the beginning
of World War II. It involved the majority of the nations in the world in which they
formed two military alliances. Those alliances were the allies and axis. In a state
of total war, World War II was the most deadly war in history. This war was caused
there was a violation of the Treaty of Versailles from WWI. Then, there was the
expansion of the Japanese and fascism. Another reason for the outbreak of World
War II was the expansion of German Nazi s. Also, there was an act of appeasement
and the onset of the Great Depression. Was World War II inevitable? World War II
was the second greatest war of the twentieth century. This was appeared to be a
continuous conflict between the thirty years war and fighting separation by an
uneasy truce to some... To others, that point of view distorts the situation by
implying that the second war was the inevitable result of the first and its
inadequate peace treaties. This war was an outcome of the previous war and the
actions taken place to resolve the major issues. From all of these issues that were
from World War I it created a mass epidemic, out to destroy the nation. World War I
and the Versailles Treaty had only a marginal relationship to the world Depression of
the 1930s. Adolf Hitler had a plan to bring borders of Germany together to make one
complete nation. Regardless,
7. How The Low Income Of Countries Such As Chad And

Introduction
This report is to help introduce the low income of countries such as Chad and Papua
New Guinea, and comparing them to a country such as Sweden who has no income.
For years, certain countries, as the two listed above cannot maintain a lifestyle with
the incomes that are available to them. Using incomes will help to see where the
problem is occurring and how it might be approached to aid the countries. Reporting
on the countries will give insight into a historical background including independence
of the countries, along with education, literacy, life factors, and poverty by using the
GINI to show how wide the gaps can be and become.
Historical Background In 1946 Chad became an Overseas Territory of France and
on August 11, 1960 obtained independence, but short lived, because of a tyrant
dictator, Francois Tombalbaye, who never really released them from his grip, and
Chad had been in a civil war, until 1990 when Idriss Deby, a military commander,
took control and with his rule, multi party politics has returned to Chad, giving some
freedoms back to its citizens (Chad s long road to independence, 2010).
Papua New Guinea was under the government of Australia, and the UN pushed
Australia to give Papua New Guinea independence and help create a group that
would be able to run a government through social and educated influences. On
September 16, 1975 Papua New Guinea obtained their independence with a monarchy
ruled by Queen Elizabeth II as head of state represented
8. Pros And Cons Of Coal
Many places are known for many things, and West Virginia is known for its coal. As
much as a television remote needs batteries, West Virginia needed coal in its early
statehood. Coal has recently been the subject of chaos in many circles around the
state. Many believe we should bleed, breathe, and breed coal. While others realize
that coal is dangerous and is on its way out the door. As everything else in the
world coal has its Pro s and Con s. For example, coal is a cheaper alternative to
creating heat which maintains electricity. Though you may pollute the air with a
high concentrate of sulfur in which coal releases. As for me, I believe coal is on its
deathbed and rightfully so. Coal has taken far too many lives, such, as young men,
grandfathers,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many miners believe that in 2001 coal regulation took a turn for the worst. Instead
of the state inspectors coming to give the mines plaques for various achievements
such as employee not being hurt, they come now to fine and attempt to shut down
these mines. According to a set group of individuals, the reason for this is, the
UMWA now only covers around 15% of all miners. With the lost revenue, the
UMW is now targeting these mines. The response, giving by the UMW is far too
many lives have been claimed due to negligence s and they are tired of hearing
stories like this: Over the years, these mines have produced the wages for many a
coal miner to buy his daughter a doll house at Christmas, a new family car or a trip
to Florida during a miners vacation, such as my father had first done for our family in
1949. They also took their share of coal miners lives. My own grandfather was one of
those who was taken early in life when he was killed in a rock fall at the No. 6 mines
in 1936 when my dad was just a boy. The grim statistics of those lost lives have
helped forge new mine safety laws which have saved countless others.
For that reason, I believe coal is dead for good. The biggest clue we have is that the
states that rely on coal heavily are now in debt. For many states, they look at the
national debt, yet we are in a crisis of our own. This is evident by our recent 300+
million dollar budget cut. Even with plans such as the rainy day funds
9. Essay about Depiction of September 11th 2001 in the Media
It was Tuesday 11th September 2001 when two hijacked passenger aircrafts collided
with the World Trade Centre, bringing it to fall and kill thousands of people and
injure even more. Immediately, newspaper, television and radio journalists were
reporting, all with different views, opinions and facts.
The ways in which the tragedy of September 11th was reported and presented, in
newspapers, magazines and television broadcasts was striking and they varied
greatly, in particular by The Sun a tabloidnewspaper, The Financial Times a
broadsheet newspaper and a letter published in a commemorative magazine marking
the events of that day. Differences and similarities between the three sources were ...

The Financial Times a broadsheet newspaper, complies mainly with the usual
stereotype of itself, that broadsheet s deal very much with the information and
actual events of a situation. Smaller picture to text ratios are used and headlines
are rather more discreet. The Financial Times uses a picture that concentrates very
much more on the whole skyline of New York and the Statue of Liberty stands tall
in the foreground. The Financial Times has used this in their front page picture to
demonstrate how the tragedy has affected people on a much bigger scale across
America. The presence of the Statue of Liberty is included to show freedom and
hope for the American people, or, indeed to highlight the terrorist attempt to destroy
this. Bullet points at the top of the front page also show that The Financial Times is
a newspaper which focuses more directly on issues that affect the whole world, some
of these issues being, Finance, Travel and Tourism and Political issues.
They also attempt to use language that will appeal but direct it in a more formal way,
concerning different political and social aspects. The scale difference of pictures
between the two newspapers, allows room for the broadsheet to include columns of
text, beginning to explain and tell the events
10. The Government Of The United States Government
The United States government was created by the founding fathers to allow men to
be free, but to also have a governmental system that protects that freedom as well.
The United States government is problematic. It goes above and beyond the
necessity and, because of this, is dysfunctional at best. The government today has
gone beyond protecting the rights of American citizens. It has become a large
entity that is wholly useless. The government of the United States is too large,
therefore, this creates many problems with things like governmental overreach and
extreme inefficiency. A smaller government would be more functional and could
return to a more efficient, and likely constitutional basis of existence. It may be
difficult to move to a smaller government if the United States cannot figure out a
good way to do this. The size of the government has made it to be inefficient for
almost everyone to use. Unless one has insider knowledge, they must stand at the
back of a seemingly stagnant line to do simple tasks like applying for permits.
Some of this inefficiency is the result of errors made by the government which then
create more complications to fix. According to the Government Accountability
Office ( GAO ), the United States government spends about 45 billion dollars a year
on federal programs that are redundant (Ehley 2014). For a government that is about
18 trillion dollars in debt, that is an enormous amount of wasted money. The GAO
defines the federal programs as
11. Voting Argument For Voting
This argument of Australia s voting age has been debated nationwide for over quite
an extensive period of time. Voting is a fundamental aspect of our democratic system
which enables an opinion thus pursuing laws and rules that govern our country.
Several people believe that 16 year olds can handle the responsibility of votingas it is
an important skill as a citizen to have a say in what will have a direct impact on them
in the future. However, this statement can be highly controversial as many believe
they make rational decisions based on lack of experience and maturity.
Today in our modern society, 16 year olds are open to a wide range of
opportunities that allow them to apply and manage skills of responsibility yet
planting their safety in the hands of their own future. A sixteen year old Australian
citizen has the ability to create a family, work full time, join the armed forces, pay
taxes and yet the right to vote for their country is denied. In 2012/2013, more than
17,000 Australians under 18 paid $41 million in taxes in addition to the GST
(Shorten, 2015) however they aren t permitted to decide who manages and spends
their taxes on their behalf. A major cause of the American revolution was the
incentive of No taxation without representation (Otis, 1761) that signified the right of
independence and democracy however Shorten s declaration lies heavily against this
concept. Together with this, numerous people have the firm belief that citizens of the

12. Environmental Sustainability Of Urban Heat Islands
Scientific research into the dynamics of urban heat islands and possible remedies to
the problem are vital in the cause of balancing human activities with environmental
sustainability. The urgent and imminent environmentally and economically damaging
effects of urban heat islands are concerning topics which necessitate equally as drastic
solutions, some of which have already begun to be instated, but may not go far
enough in protecting our planet. This paper discusses the present measures put in
place to help improve urban heatislands, what the future may have in store without
further work, and why our planet s fate greatly depends on these measures.
Furthermore, an in depth discussion regarding additional measures that can be
effectively and efficiently used to improve urban heat islands will be explored. As
aware citizens, individual and collective responsibility in respects to urban heat
islands will be central in neutralizing the urban heat islandcrisis, and action must be
taken before it is too late. An urban heat island is a metropolitan area that suffers from
recurrent high temperatures compared to the cooler temperatures of its rural
surroundings. There are many factors that contribute to the creation of urban heat
islands, but if proper adjustment is done to albedo, architecture, and vegetation, there
will be an effective and efficient reduction in city temperatures. Recent studies have
shown that urban temperatures are gradually rising, and this dynamic is

related to the heart s arteries and muscles. Blood is transported to the heart by

Diagnosis Pulmonary embolisms are diagnosed through several ways; x rays of
the chest are done to get a good picture of the lungs, MRIs are done to produce
images that are more detailed than x rays, blood tests are sometimes conducted to
check for a natural clot dissolving substance in the blood, venography s are
performed to get x ray images of the veins in the lungs. CT scans are done to get
cross sectional views of the lungs. Duplex Venous Ultrasound are performed by
using radio waves to check the flow of blood and to see if there are any clots
existing in the legs. The most effective way of diagnosing a pulmonary embolism is
through a pulmonary angiography, this is when the doctor makes an incision and
inserts tools into the veins of the lungs and then puts a dye though the veins to detect
any blockages.
4.Treatment For the larger and more life threatening clots, most often surgeries are
the only option to get them removed. For smaller blood clots, blood thinners and clot
dissolvers are used to break up the clots in the lungs.
5.Prognosis The prognosis of a pulmonary embolism can range from very good to
very bad. Some pulmonary embolisms are so severe that death occurs in seconds to
minutes. For others, after surgery or clot busting drugs, patients are usually put on
blood thinners to reduce the risk of having another pulmonary embolism that could
potentially be fatal. People who survive the embolism and immediately get treated
usually have a good outlook, but
15. How To Prevent The Raven
All humans die at a certain point in their lives, death is something bound to happen.
Death cannot be stopped , even if you take care of yourself perfectly. People try
really hard to extend the time period of their lives, by securing themselves and
helping themselves be more healthy. People keep guards, they purchase the most
expensive health treatments, they have security systems at their house, the exercise
and get the best nutrition to benefit their body, and many many more actions. By
doing these actions, us humans feel a sense of protection, we feel that we are secure
and cannot be harmed. But somethings are bound to happen and nothing can prevent
them. Although these tactics do help you live a longer and healthier life, they help
prevent such actions from taking place. Even if they can t solve all the safety
problems, they sure help them greatly.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The whole idea of Raven is that the Raven had to somehow come in the room and
eventually it did by a series of unexpected events. This shows that somethings are
bound to happen, they will happen and there is nothing anyone or anything can do
about it. The raven also symbolises death, which happens and was always bound to
happen anyways. Just like in The fall of the house of Usher , Rodricks madness
drove him crazy. He did not realise the danger he could cause himself even with all
the precautions he took. There are two really good examples portrayed in the
Masque of the Red Death . The first one is about the people of the city that is
mentioned in the story. It shows that no matter what kind of people they were or
what kind of precautions they took, they all got devoured by the gruesome disease.

You probably haven t heard of the method of loci but you might know it by it s
other name if you watch BBC s Sherlock, A mind palace. It s not a new concept, in
fact it can be traced back all the way to ancient Greece. The concept of Loci is to
memorize and remember things by creating a physical place in your mind in
which to store things, and it doesn t have to be a palace it just has to be a place that
you are extremely familiar with. It could be your house, your school, or any place
you can imagine clearly in your mind. Let s say you use your house as your mind
palace, what you would do is close your eyes and imagine you are standing outside
your house, now imagine opening the front door and walking to a room, such as
your bedroom. Now make sure that you can very clearly visualize the entire room
and then place whatever you need to remember in that room. Let s say you have a
grocery list you need to remember and you need soda, bananas, and milk, place the
milk on your pillow, the soda on your desk and the bananas on your dresser. Now
when you need to remember the list you would simply close your eyes walk into
your room and look around, everything should be where you left them if you are
using the method of Loci correctly. Of course you should not attempt to create a
mind palace after just reading this blog post because I am just explaining what the
method of Loci is and how it works, not how to properly utilize it. It would be best

A very good amount of autistic children have very bad tempers. As a result,
numerous parents end up quitting their jobs to care for their autistic child. (Packard,
2009). Many people with autism also have other disorders of the central nervous
system, such as developmental disabilities, epilepsy, or schizophrenia. However, not
all children with autism are severely impacted. Autism persists through a person s
lifetime, although many people are able to learn to control and modify their
behavior to some extent. Some people are affected fairly mildly; several of these
individuals learn to live independent lives. Others more severely affected, require
lifelong care and supervision. (Dowshen, 2008). Most families of autistic children
also learn to get support from their parents and other children with autism. Some
children with mild autism will grow up and be able to live on their own. Those with
problems that are more serious will always need some kind of help, but all kids with
autism have brighter futures when they have support and understanding from their
doctors, teachers, caregivers, parents, brothers, sisters, and friends. (Dowshen, 2008).
At this point in time there is no cure for autism, but doctors, therapists, and special
teachers can help kids with autism overcome or adjust to many difficulties they have
to face. The earlier a child starts treatment for autism, the better because the best

19. The Crying Game By Neil Jordan And Loaded By Christos...
ВЎВ§Texts both inform us of the social identities available to us, and problematize
them; both police our social selves and subvert them.ВЎВЁ
Both texts, The Crying Game by Neil Jordan and Loaded by Christos Tsiolkas, use
characters within the discourse to project social identities that have been
problematized due to social constraints. Throughout this essay, I will focus on
sexuality, as this type of social identity has been depicted as a central theme in both
texts. The characters from the texts work to, police and subvert their own sexual
identities within their social milieu.

21. Review Of Franz Kafka s The Metamorphosis
Bibliography of the Life of Franz Kafka
There are several aspects about the writing of Franz Kafka that make it enticing to
the reader and tantalizing enough to keep the reader intrigued. The narrative that I
find most intriguing by Kafka is The Metamorphosis. The Metamorphosis is a tale
wherein Kafka essentially gives his perception of the story of his life through the use
of storytelling devices, which without the use of them would have made it a less
interesting tale.
Franz Kafka was born on July 3rd, 1883. Kafka was a German writer who wrote
short stories that typically revolved around bizarre and asinine plotlines. These
stories were typically a mixture of realism and fantasy. The term Kafkaesque was
coined in order to describe the content of Kafka s stories. Kafka was born in Prague
and grew up in a middle class family. Kafka studied in order to become a lawyer
and eventually found work as an insurance agent. Due to the nature of his
profession, he had a lot of own time. This led to him writing in his free time. His
writing was not only limited to short stories, he enjoyed writing to members of his
family, his significant other, his friends, etc. He wrote several short stories
throughout his lifetime and a few of them were even published. Throughout his entire
life, he always harbored an inferiority complex and thought of himself as physically
and mentally repulsive. Although he had this negative self view of himself, others
described him as chill and laid back.

involves the cracking of a small circular bone about the size of a quarter, the
foramen magnum, at the bottom rear of the skull, where the bone and cartilage are

The City of Vancouver is world renowned for being a beautiful yet expensive city
for people to work and live in. Despite ranking as the third least affordable housing
market in the world, Vancouver is home to Canada s poorest neighbourhood, the
Downtown Eastside (DTES). Due to the high costs of living, the city of Vancouverhas
a large amount of povertyand homelessness. The DTES has high rates of drug use,
poverty, crime, infectious disease, and mental illness (Linden, Mar, Werker, Jang,

housing units, which amounted to the homelessness in the area. Among those who
were displaced include elderly, impoverished tenants that were in frail health (Smith,
2003, p. 499). Additionally, the introduction of injectable cocaine into the
neighbourhood created an increase in HIV rates. Undoubtedly, the DTES continues
to host a growing amount of homeless people; according to the 2016 Homeless
Count, there are thirty eight percent Aboriginals within the streets of Vancouver,
thirteen percent of people who identify as LGBTQ2+, veterans make up eleven
perfect and women who make up twenty three percent of the homeless population
(Vancouver Metro, 2016). Moreover, one main aspect that is occurring in the DTES
is the usage of drugs and the spread of HIV. Although there have been attempts to
control and fix this issue, there is the challenge of reluctance amongst the drug users
and the people with HIV. The older DTES groups have trouble accepting programs
(aimed to help them) due to the fact that some are resistant to outsider interference
(Roe, 2009). According to Roe, the drug users and sex workers within the area have
the belief that if they accept services provided to help them, that would mean that
they are accepting, thus legitimatizing the skid road stereotypes. This

Campus rape is an increasing phenomenon in modern day institutions of higher
learning. In defining the term rape Vladutiu C.J. et al. (2011) highlighted that it is a
form of sexual assault which involves sexual intercourse. On the other hand, Fisher et

Further support is supplied by Fisher et al. (2000) who reviewed the 1997 National
Institute of Justice study on rape and reported that between one fifth and one
quarter of women within college campus report rape cases within each year. It was
further stated that, Women within college campuses, and the social values and
believed associated to campus rape are at greater risk for rape and other forms of
sexual assault than women in the general population or in a comparable age group
(Fisher et. Al pg. 3). Based on other findings in a study conducted by Martin et al.
(2009) 20 25% of female undergraduates experience rape in their college life.
However, though rape among male students occurs at a lower rate, the students also
report rape cases.
Among the major groups of people who have been affected by campus rape first
year students are more vulnerable to sexual assault (Krebs et al., 2009). This is
due partly to the inexperience and familiarity of the campus environment. The
freshmen are also regarded as having increased fear over older students and are
often unaware of the administrative structure. Therefore, their probability of
reporting rape is low compared to older students who understand the institution in
detail as well as any procedures and rules. The major argument for the lack is that it
is difficult to classify the different categories of rape victims in terms of age or race.
As a result of rape within college campuses occurring

These early cephalopods, which have shells common in the fossil record, would

He fails to complete the job, wakes up in a hospital, and finds the mental barriers

A Clockwork Orange had a loose theme of the necessity of not only good, but also
evil in human nature. Alex may have been selfish and deviant but his character and
the characters like him did seem to have a strong grasp on the concept that life was
for living. Without the ability of choice to commit evil acts which was an impulse
inside of him, his ability to act human was affected. The freedom of making these
choices seems to be what makes us human. Hence without this freedom he is driven
to attempt suicide.
The major theme of the novel was a battle of the greater importance of a safe stable
society or greater importance of free will. The main character had been
conditioned to feel ill at the thought of bad acts, he had not however been
conditioned to not wish to commit these acts. After viewing the presentation of the

Such findings were also reported by Adhikari (2007) in Nepal, Ozsevik (2010) in
Turkey, Ansarey (2012) in Bangladesh and Vongxay (2013) in Laos. They indicated
that the number of students in the class was an issue that made it hard to manage
several groups within one class. Such findings were also emphasised in responding to
question 6 in the questionnaire where 68% of the teachers stated that they had from
20 to 40 students in their classes (see Table 6). This would suggest that teachers need
to divide students into eight or ten groups in order to implement communicative
activities successfully and, thus, it would be difficult to manage all groups.

The interviewee teachers indicated that the accountability of Libyan students to

the Ministry of Education has the responsibility to decide who will design them. This

how to pass the exams which are mostly based on grammar exercises .
Such orientation may lead to negative influence on the process of learning English
language. As this could imply that the focus is shifting from fluency into accuracy
which perhaps would be an issue for both applying CLT effectively and the students
outcomes. The findings were similar to those

BALAENOPTEROIDS (CETACEA, MYSTICETI): IMPLICATIONS ON FOSSIL
CETACEAN PALEOECOLOGY AND BIOLOGY
KERR, Tyler J., University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY, United States, 82071
BACKGROUND
Whales (Cetacea) are unique among mammals in that they possess exceptionally
dense, pachyosteosclerotic tympanic bullae1. Along the margin of the bulla is a
highly mineralized, extremely dense wall of bone called the involucrum that serves
as a special adaptation to life in the sea and as a means to facilitate sound reception
and directionality underwater2,3,4. Moreover, this cetacean synapomorphy plays an
important role in distinguishing its members from the ancestral terrestrial
artiodactyls from which whales diverged5. When cut into cross sections, the
involucral region of the tympanic bullae in many mysticete (baleen whale) lineages
reveals three easily distinguishable zones of concentric laminar growth. Here we
hypothesize that these three distinct zones identified along the length of the tympanic
bullae are capable of recording life history events during early development, when the
cetacean tympanoperiotic region is known to be rapidly ossifying6. We propose that
the innermost zone (1) represents rapid in utero growth, the intermediary zone (2)
represents rapid birth and postnatal development, and the outermost zone (3),
markedly thinner, represents slower, more lamellar development from weaning on
through adulthood.

THE GREEK CHORUS SMALL PLACE IN HISTORY The history of the Greek
Chorus can be traced back to a relatively small time period; from the original

Aeschylus triple entente of tragedies The Oresteia, which included the infamous
Agamemnon. To truly understand the Greek Chorus, and what role it was meant to
play when it was created and thereafter altered, one has to go back to the beginning
of timeВ…which in this case happens to be somewhere around the seventh century,
B.C. During this time, the festival of Dionysus was held annually in Athens to
celebrate and honor the god for which it was named. Dionysus, being the Greek (and

John Ross, who had been a manager with a large CPA firm, was quickly hired to
replace Wagner. Although the change in Datasave s chief financial officer caused
some disruption, the audit was completed on a timely basis. As the last step in the
audit process, you have prepared the representation letter for signing. You wanted
the letter to be signed by William Cox, the president; Robert Star, the controller;
and Wagner, who occasionally came to the company s offices to resolve matters
regarding his past compensation. The signatures of Cox and Star were obtained,
and you approached Wagner for his signature. In response to your request, Wagner
replied, I no longer am employed with this crazy company. Why should I take any
responsibility for the financial statements? Despite your attempts to persuade him,
Wagner refused to sign the letter. Wagner also refused to discuss the reasons for his
resignation, other than to say the reasons were personal. When you discussed the
problem of Wagner s refusal to sign with Cox, he indicated that there was no
problem because Ross would sign the letter. You see this as a possible solution, but
you are aware that Ross knows very little about the financial statements for the year
under audit. Also, you are still somewhat concerned about the reasons for Wagner s
resignation.Required: a. Describe fully the alternatives that are available to you in

40. Argumentative Essay On Dogfighting
While many dog owners walk, play, and love their pet dogs, some dog owners use
the sweet and loyal creatures to fight and make money. Povey and F.E.D.S. agree
with Dog Breeds Expert when it was stated, where you find dog fights, you ll often
find a whole many more criminal activities taking place too. ( DogFighting Breeds )
Povey continues this thought with saying dogfighting is often associated with drug
dealing, gambling, and other criminal activities related to gangs. (Povey) It is
agreeable that any activity associated with such a high number of other illegal
activities should be outlawed. While it is outlawed in the United States, it remains a
popular sport illegally in the United States and in numerous other countries. Because
dogfighting is such a popular sport, the trainers are typically very picky about the
dog breed used.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, F.E.D.S. discusses that different breeds are combined to create the ideal
dogfighting champion. (F.E.D.S.) Povey narrows this list of possible dogs down
by claiming Pit Bulls are the most common dogs used because they possess such a
strong drive to fight that they will often fight to the death instead of backing down
when injured or overpowered. (Povey) Pit bulls are known for their aggressive
nature, but in F.E.D.S., Roland Fox claims the animals will act how they are trained to

Her employee then makes the statement, You re a hit, you can move on from here. To
which Liz responds Hindsight is always 20/20.
Analysis:
Liz definitely needed to plan ahead for her presentation to the Hudson Valley
Business Association. Her speech made her lack of knowledge obvious to all the
business leaders present at the meeting and may have exposed the weaknesses to her
competition. On the other hand, after returning to her office Liz did handle the
criticism very well, she was open, honest and direct with her coworker in discussing
the issues with her speech. It was a great testament to management that this
employee felt at liberty to be direct with Liz, there are few companies which can
claim the same open door success. This employee did a great job of outlining her
concerns but ended up dismissing her entire argument with the statement You re a
hit, you can move on from here. This is a little discouraging because it indicates that
Liz s downfall with planning and strategy is being approved and affirmed by her
employee base, this is dangerous for a company.

42. Theme Of Technology In The Veldt
Technology and The Veldt
In the short story The Veldt the Hadley s live in the futuristic Happylife home where
the house does everything for them. Meanwhile in the modern world, a scientist in
Switzerland has invented two devices that could reverse paralysis. Technology is
advancing fast as society is trying to reverse paralysis, which may be a blessing or a
detriment to the world, similar to the innovations in the short story The Veldt.
The Veldt The Hadleys live in the advanced housing unit called the Happylife
home, which does everything someone would do on a day to day basis for them.
George and Lydia Hadley s children, Peter and Wendy, have a nursery that shows
images based on their thoughts and therefore the African veldt appears in the
room. But when George and Lydia go into the room they find lions killing some
unfortunate creature on repeat. They are worried about the psychological health of
their children. Everyone in the world would probably be more than happy to live
in the Happylife home if they could. In the house is a nursery where the images on
the crystallized walls is controlled by the user s mind, which is an advantage to the
Hadley parents for the reason that they can see if there is something wrong with
their kids intellectually. The Hadley family has life going easy for them in the house,
there is a machine that does every task in the house for them. They whole family
loved the idea in the beginning of the story. Nevertheless
43. Five Dimensions Of Verizon Case Study
Verizon Is a cable company used by thousands. Most of the places I have lived in
my life have used either Verizon or Xfinity for their cable service provider. I will
never use Verizon for the rest of my life because of the service I received. I started
my contract in September 2016 and it lasted until May 2016. I was getting my
own apartment in Glassboro in which I needed cable and internet. This was my
first time really setting up the payment for cable and internet. I have never used a
cable service prior. The first impression of the company was over the phone and the
last impression of Verizon ended with me paying $130.00 cancellation fee. The

call to Verizon to fix the problems. I fixed the issues most of the time, but it was a
great inconvenience to my day. Responsiveness is the willingness to provide prompt
service and have a willingness to help customers. Verizon s service was not prompt.
Verizon would keep me on the phone for a minimum of 45 minutes, most of my time

Flying on the Wings of Love
The seat rumbled in the window seat of the plane. I looked out across the wing at
the tiny men running frantically around in their orange vests. I started thinking
about where I was about to go and my palms started to sweat. Oh no I thought to
myself as I felt my body tensing. I was getting nervous although I had no clue about
how my life was about to change.
The plane began to move. We were taking off. With each minute, and each thought, I
became more and more anxious. I looked out the window. The ground moved faster
and faster, soon the gravel began to look like blurry streaks and suddenly the plane
lifted. My mind cleared and I just watched... I looked down upon the tiny little ...

with a bit of apprehension. I let out a deep sigh in which my daydream was
interrupted.
I now looked to the right of me at a man wearing a gray suit; book in hand. I could
tell he was asleep by the long drawn wheezing coming from his nostrils. Bored by
the happenings inside the plane, I looked back out the window to my left. While my
mind had wandered off, the plane had risen above the clouds. I watched quietly and
looked to see what shapes and mystical worlds I could make up in the passing fluffs
of white. Before I knew it, I was awaken by a sharp dinging sound. As I was drawn
away from my dreams of flight, I looked around to regain my composure. The
dinging sound that woke me, came from the overhead, fasten seatbelt sign. Were we

looked out the window and found my answer.
It was almost as if the plane was going to crash right into the city. Nearing closer
and closer to the neighborhoods below, the plane was approaching Midway Airport

46. The Pros And Cons Of IVF In Australia
In Vitro Fertilisation which is most commonly known as IVF, is a complex series
of procedures used to treat fertility or genetic problems and assist with the
conception of a child (Staff, Mayo Clinic, n.d.). IVF is the most effective form of
assisted reproductive technology (ART). Having a healthy baby using IVF
depends on many factors some of these include the cause of infertility and age, for
someone the same age as Lucy, which is 32 they have a 44% chance of falling
pregnant from a single embryo (Monash IVF Group , 2017). IVF can also be time
consuming, extremely expensive and invasive. There is a lot of criticism towards
IVF for its ethical, political and social aspects. The cost of IVF in Australia can
vary between fertility clinic, an estimated cost for the first cycle is $3000 $4000,
after that the subsequent IVF cycles are $2500 $3500 (N/A, 2017). These costs
also do not include the initial consultation, which can cost anywhere between $150
to upwards of $300, as well as any other day hospital procedures, consultations or
medication. (N/A, 2017). Thus, making IVF an expensive way to conceive, as
many women do not fall pregnant on the first attempt and must play for multiple
rounds of IVF. There are Medicare rebates that are used to reduce some costs of IVF,
but the couple needs to have a referral from either their GP (valid for 12 months) or
a specialist gynaecologist/ obstetrician (valid for 3 months) (Virtus Health , 2017).

47. Hamlet Soliloquy Analysis
The soliloquy spoken by Hamlet in Act IV, scene IV illustrates a remarkable shift in
Hamlet s personality. Up until this point, Hamlet has been an extremely indecisive
and submissive character. In Act II, Hamlet decides that the play s the thing wherein
I ll catch the conscience of the king . However, at the play s conclusion and Claudius
admission of guilt, Hamletis still uncertain and cannot decide what action to take
against his uncle. When Hamlet comes across Claudius while he is praying,
Hamlet lets him live because he rethinks his plot for revenge and decides that it is
best to postpone it until a more propitious time presents itself. Hamlet continues to
demonstrate submissiveness and inaction when he obeys his father s murderer s
instructions to go to England in Act IV. After Hamlet has embarked on his journey,
away from Denmark, he finds Fortinbras leading a large army to acquire a small
piece of land. His soldiers do not care for or fight for wealth, but to bring honor to
their respective countries. Hamlet has an epiphany. He realizes that he has been
extraordinarily passive and hesitant due to his excessive analysis of revenge and
lays out a plan of action. He resolves that his behavior thus far has only led to
cowardice.
Hamlet begins the soliloquy while grumbling that everything that has happened in his
life, thus far, pushes him to seek retribution and yet he has not done it. He calls his
revenge dull , but Hamlet does something very interesting after that, Hamlet compares
man to a beast.
McCain 2
What is a man, / If his chief good and market of his time, / Be but to sleep and feed? a
beast, no more. / Sure, he that made us with such large discourse, / Looking before
and after, gave us not / That capability and god like reason / To fust in us unused.
Hamlet believes that men who exist solely to eat and sleep is no better than an
animal. God did not give man the ability to reflect on what has happened in the past
and what the future holds, just for it all to go to waste. Hamlet praises human
reason, but he warns that if unused it will eventually rot away. Man was created to
think and to seek higher goals then to simply just survive like an animal.
He then quickly does a 180 and compares

49. Adam And Eve Myth
The story of Adam and Eve is from the book Genesis, the first book of the Old
Testament, and shows attributes of a myth. Adam and Eve got exiled from Eden
for eating a piece of fruit off the tree of knowledge after God advised them not to.
Adam and Eve were then banned from Eden and full of shame and remorse for what
they have done. Also, Godcreated the Earth with demigods living in paradise with
everything in their reach. After man was created they were filled with curiosity and
naivete. Adam and Eveare the protagonists in the first story of The Bible. God created
the Earth in seven days, with man on the last day of creation. On the seventh day
god made man to live on his new creation, the lord God formed man out of the dust
of the ground , (ch 2, 7). Man became a living creature in God s hand made utopia.
After man was formed from the dirt, woman was constructed from man s bone;
Adam and eve could speak directly to God which makes them Demigods, they heard
the voice of the lord God , (ch 3,7). God spoke to man and woman and said they will
be cursed from their luxury of living in Eden if they ate from the Tree of Knowledge.

Adam and Eve were tempted to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge because
they were jealous that God got to see good and evil, Ye shall be as gods, knowing
good and evil , (ch 3, 5). Now knowing right and wrong, Adam and Eve feel
ashamed for what they have done to obliterate God s trust in them. Man suffers
from Adam and Eve s mistake; once being exiled from Eden they had to go through
manual labor such as farming and childbirth, she conceived and bare Cain (ch 4, 1)
Adam and Eve now had to go through bad harvests and see
50. Assess The Importance Of Business Continuity Planning
As listed on the website of Canada Business Network (2017), it is advisable for
businesses to have a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) in order to deal with
unexpected crises that could interrupt the operations of a business. A BCP is
important because every business is at risk from potential disasters that could affect
their normal operations: natural disasters, accidents, sabotage, power and energy
disruptions, failures in the sectors of communications, transportation, safety, and
service, environmental disasters, and cyber attacks (Public Safety Canada 2015).
Regardless of the size or nature of the business, a business owner can design a plan
to minimize the disruption of a disaster, to recover quickly, and to keep the business
competitive
