1. Good Scholarship Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Good Scholarship Essays" can be quite challenging, as it
requires a delicate balance between showcasing one's achievements, demonstrating financial
need, and expressing personal qualities that align with the values of the scholarship provider.
Crafting a compelling essay that not only meets the criteria but also stands out among a sea of
applicants can be a formidable task.
One of the challenges lies in effectively conveying your unique story and experiences without
coming across as boastful or self-centered. Striking the right tone and maintaining humility while
highlighting your accomplishments requires a thoughtful approach to writing. Additionally, the
need to address the specific requirements of each scholarship, tailoring the essay to align with
the organization's goals, adds another layer of complexity.
Moreover, the limited word count common in scholarship essays necessitates concise and
impactful writing. This restriction makes it crucial to choose words wisely, ensuring every
sentence contributes meaningfully to the overall narrative. Juggling the elements of storytelling,
self-promotion, and adherence to guidelines can be an intricate process.
Furthermore, the pressure to stand out in a competitive pool of applicants can be overwhelming.
Identifying what makes your story unique and presenting it in a way that captivates the reader's
attention can be a daunting task, requiring careful consideration of language, structure, and
content.
In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on the topic of "Good Scholarship Essays" demands a
strategic and nuanced approach. The ability to balance personal narrative, achievements, and
adherence to specific guidelines while maintaining a genuine and humble tone is crucial.

2. The Importance Of Free Speech And The First Amendment
All the time, people are heard protesting about Free Speech , and The First
Amendment . What rights are really protected under the First Amendment
according to our Constitution? The answer may be shocking. In the United States
of America, the concept of free speech is widely called upon to reinforce the
legality of offensive spoken words or actions. In reality, not all speech is protected
under the First Amendment. Sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but
where is the line between what opinions are acceptable to be spoken of in public,
and what is inappropriate or too offensive. The true answer lies in the definition of
the word public. While government run agencies such as public universities have
little they can do about what students say, private colleges have virtually no
requirements by law. Public universities have very little say in what students are
allowed to say or do so long as their speech and actions are reasonable. Reasonable
is defined as, for the duration of this essay, that they are not directly threatening to
any person or group, they refrain from using fighting words , and they do not take
part in slander or libel. Any restriction of reasonable free speech by a public university
is unconstitutional. While public universities have requirements put upon them to
allow most free speech, private colleges have no such rules. The only requirements
for any private collegeto allow free speech are those put upon themselves by
contract, or in few cases, put upon them by their state. Private colleges are private
so that they may choose which morals and ideals they put forward and deem
important. Although most private universities are not required to allow complete
freedom of speech on their campuses, many add an assurance of free speech or
some variant of free speech in their handbook. Free Speech Zones have become a
popular solution to the ever growing problem of the combination of protesters and
easily offended people across the United States. These zones exist in many places and
are especially prevalent on college campuses. The intent of such zones is arguably
good, to ensure that the purpose of universities remains centered on learning. The
constitutionality and
3. Burial Practices In Ancient Assyrians
Ancient Assyrians during the Neo Assyrian Empire in 911BC to 612BC had a set
or funerary practices for the death of a human being. The death of a male in an
Assyrian family is seen as an even worse family tragedy and therefore has a different
set of burial practices and rituals. These burial rituals were important to the Ancient
Assyrians, as they were a process of mourning.
Ancient Assyrians observe arranged funerary practices when a death occurs. When
death is near, the local priest is called in to deliver holy bread (bukhra) and pray for
them. After the priest gives an invocation, relatives and close friends accompany the
person during their final moments.
The deceased s nearest relative announces the death to relatives and friends. The ...

The empty corpse is compared to a deep sleep upon burial to the ground. Ancient
Assyrians did not view physical death as the ultimate end of a life, the dead
continued to exist in the form of a spirit. Ancient Assyrians continually prayed for
this spirit after death. As seen in Source 2, Votive figures are statues of various
sizes that are commonly carved in gypsum or limestone. They show men wearing
fringed fleece skirts, and women wearing fringed dresses draped over one
shoulder, with inlaid eyes and hair that is painted. Usually the statues are carved
with their hands clasped, right over left, at the chest or waist in a gesture of
consideration. Some figures are depicted holding cups or branches of vegetation. It
is common for standing figures to step forward with their left foot. Male heads are
frequently shown bald, however will sometimes have a beard while female figures
are shown to have an assortment of hairstyles or headdresses. These statues purpose

6. Integral Empathy
Empathy is the ability to understand what the client is feeling. This refers to the
therapist s ability to understand sensitively and accurately to the client s experience
and feelings in the here and now, but not sympathetically. An important part of the
task of the person centered counselor is to follow precisely what the client is feeling
and to communicate to them that the therapist understands what they are feeling.
Integral empathycontributes to developing a therapeutic relationship, understanding a
client, and informing treatment strategies and interventions.
The theory based on Carl R. Rogers therapeutic conditions (congruence, unconditional
positive regard, and empathic understanding), emphasizes the importance of the

7. Battle Royal Ralph Ellison Analysis
Minorities Against their Oppressors The short story Battle Royal is written by
Ralph Ellison and takes place in an era that had a great amount of racial prejudice.
The story starts off with the main character, the boy, who tells readers he was
struggling with finding a purpose for himself. Later, he mentions his grandpa; his
grandpa was someone he looked up to greatly. His grandpa was unique because he
got along well with the whites, in a peaceful matter. He encouraged the boy to fight
for freedom, and to fight for what others were afraid to, without harsh words and
violence. Because the boy was following along with what the whites expected of him,
humility, he was asked to give a speech. This later turns into a fighting match and...

Their eyes were then set on a woman, a magnificent blonde stark naked (Ellison
287). The boys were startled and somewhat intrigued by the stripper because they
were just children; the oppressors had forced them to watch her. The rink was
anything but the image of wealth. The main character states, I noticed a certain
merchant who followed her hungrily... (Ellison 288). He considered this normal
behavior, but did not consider the position he was being held to. As the oppressors
noticed the boys were trying to escape from this insanity, they put them back in the
rink and blindfolded them. The boy felt blind terror. He was not unused to the
darkness (Ellison 288). He was no longer in control of what was going on around
him. Here, the blindfolds, one could say, represent his unconsciousness to him
being held as lower class and he did not realize this truly was not freedom until his
head hit the marble floor. Streaks of blue light filled the black world behind my
blindfold. (Ellison 289). Later his blindfold was removed and he could control his
movements and his decisions. He wondered if he should play it dumb and humiliate
himself or go against the white man because he realized the oppressors did not
actually respect him. The blindfolds before prevented the boys from looking smarter

He s not a child but he s childlike, he s not a grown up, he s not a kid, maybe he
sounds like an elf on helium, we ll play with it (Tom Kenney). Although, the
television show SpongeBob Squarepants is known for not taking anything
seriously, the characters are made of substance and real human attributes.
Characteristics like greed, power, and deception are all recognizable in Greek
gods from ancient mythology as well as in Mr. Krabs, King Neptune, and
Plankton. Greek gods and the characters of SpongeBob, as unlikely as this may
seem, are similar because each person is represented by one core characteristic. The
gods Triton, Hades, Koalemos, Poseidon, and Midas would make the perfect dream
team for the television show SpongeBob... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more blunt side to Patrick relates to The god of silliness and stupidity (Greek
Mythology). If Patrick Star has an I.Q. it is a negative number. Also, Patrick is the
reason for all of the problems SpongeBob has to solve for him. Patrick creates
mayhem for his friends just like Koalemos creates mayhem for his fellow gods
(Theoi Koalemos). The sensitive and caring side of Patrick corresponds with
Philotes, the personification of affection and friendship (Greek Myth Index). Out
of all the factors making up the characterization of Patrick Star, the friendship he
has with SpongeBob stands out the most. When talking about what Patrick does
when SpongeBob is at work Patrick says, I wait for you to come back (spongybob).
The only thing Patrick can truly focus on is friendship and loyalty. The personality
of Patrick Star works well with Koalemos and Philotes. Eugene Krabs, owner of the
Krusty Krab, relates well to the Greek king Midas. King Midas is known for his
immense greed and wisdom (Greek Myths). King Midas had found favor in the gods
so God Dionysus was pleased with Midas and his decision not to punish Silenus,
thus he asked Midas what he wanted the most from his life in order to return the
favor (Greek Myths). Midas greed overwhelms him when he asks for everything he
touches to turn to gold (Greek Myths). Mr. Krabs is characterized by this kind of
extreme greed because of the way he overprices everything he

Akers, Borrero, Corbie Smith, and Schwarz (2010) discussed the results of a study
completed on African American family discussions with their adolescent children
regarding family planning and contraception. The authors found this study
important due to the extremely high rates of pregnancy in black adolescents, and
suggests one of the solutions to this issue would be the communication between
the parents are the children (Akers, Borrero, Corbie Smith, Schwarz, 2010). The
families were chosen for this study by responding to advertisement (flyers, and
ads) in the community to attend one study session where they filled out a self
administered questionnaire, and participated in a focus group. The families were
only eligible to participate in the study if the children were between the ages of 15
17, and one biological parent or legal guardian agreed to participate (Akers,
Borrero, Corbie Smith, Schwarz, 2010). The study completed in this article was
conducted in Allegheny County, in western Pennsylvania with members of 53
African American families that included 51 mothers, 17 fathers, 37 daughters and
20 sons (Akers, Borrero, Corbie Smith, Schwarz, 2010). Also, there were four focus
groups broken down between mothers, fathers, adolescent males and adolescent
females, and they were scheduled to be held simultaneously on each of five dates
scheduled between December 2007 and March 2008 (Akers, Borrero, Corbie Smith,
Schwarz, 2010). The results of the study displayed a
10. The Pros And Cons Of Black Smokers
In the deep sea resides black smokers, which are hydrothermal vents. Black
smokers form from tectonic plates meeting and this creates a mineral laden fluid,
iron sulfide, hence the black smoke . This water permeates through the earth s
crust, boils, and dissolves rock, reacting and creating bubbling, nutritious water.
Only few organisms can live in the cold, deep, and empty environment where these
Black smokers exists. These microbes are called extremophiles and rely on
chemosynthesis, a process where an organism absorbs chemical energy from
mineral rich processes. These extremophiles, also known as archaebacteria, are an
important food source for certain sea life like the yeti crab and sometimes have a
symbiotic relationship with larger organisms. Discovering more of these microbes
could further society as we could find more on other planets and their resistance to
extreme environments can be studied by bioengineers. These hydrovents are also
more concentrated than mines above the sea, which could potentially provide a
cause for underwater sea mining. Such reserves are not only looked upon as a new
mining source, but also a renewable mining source since these chimneys are capable
of regenerating over time. Taking advantage of hydrovents would expand the mining
industry and provide more jobs for society, reducing poverty while increasing... Show

The Fine Arts are Essential for the Attainment of Human Excellence
Fine art exists since the beginning of time. Its creation does not begin with that of
mankind, for, verily, nature is the origin of all art; the ultimate of all artists. Humans,
however, are not blind to it at birth. Since the bestowal of vision, both physical and
that of the mind, man is expressing the desire to make corporeal that which it
beholds. Evidence of this is found in ancient cave paintings, an attempt to immortalize
a moment from the past, depicting one from another life. Undoubtedly there have
also been drawings in the sand made by the tough skinned fingers of the primordial
ancestor. This urge to reincarnate the sights beheld by memory remains in... Show

Likewise, the art must be kept simple in the way of its creative process. This is not
to mean that the end result may not be complex and detailed, but rather, that often
times in excessive planning, deliberation, and in application of rigid sets of rules
upon the creation, the purity and profundity of the art is lost in bearing witness to its
own validity. The goal, thus, is to have the experience of satori each time the act of
painting or sculpting occurs, and letting it do the art. Te Taoist tradition also supports
this as, from the Tao Te Ching, a good artist lets his intuition / lead him wherever it
wants, (Lao Tzu 27). Now, it is still important to know the various techniques
associated with the art form in particular. For only if a craft knowledge is attained
can the simplicity of the product be, in all actuality, of great intricacy. This can be
more easily understood in Lao Tzu s words, as the master knows the utensils, / yet
keeps to the block: / thus she can use all things, (28). Correspondingly, true art
seems unsophisticated, (41), and true art seems artless, (45). So if art indeed does
attain these attributes becomes simple, and therefore infinitely elaborate, and is not
performed for any reason as may be materially profitable but only for its own sake
then it is, verily, in a pure for and can be the focal

Air Conditioning Repair in Dallas, TX
You rely on your home s air conditioner to maintain your comfort during the summer
season. Routinely changing/cleaning the air filter, scheduling routine maintenance
and ensuring prompt air conditioning repair in Dallas, TX ensures the proper
performance, best possible energy efficiency and a long lifespan for the unit.
Homeowner Tasks
Changing the air filter is the most important task the homeowner can provide.
However, there are a few other actions you will need to provide. Outdoors, you will
need to keep the area around the condensing unit free of debris, clutter and overgrown
vegetation. The failure to so so can result in reduced airflow, and potential damage to
the unit. In addition, never aim the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While, changing the filter routinely will help to keep the coils clean, eventually
professional cleaning will be required. Both dirty filters and coils reduces the
system s performance, and can cause the coil to freeze up, resulting in a lack of
cooling, and potentially the need for air conditioning repair in Dallas, TX.
A properly functioning air conditioner should shut off when it reaches the set
temperature. If it is running nonstop, there is a problem. Common causes are a
problem with the thermostat, and/or the need for air conditioning repair in Dallas.
Another potential cause of a continuously running unit occurs when the system is
smaller than your home requires. Wrong size units are a common issue and the
source of many problems. When undersized, the AC will run continuously as it
struggles to attain the set temperature. Higher electric bills result from the continuous
operation, and the unit will wear out prematurely, requiring a new unit to be installed
sooner than should be
13. The Oppression Of Prisoners In Plato s Cave
The critical idea is that the prisoners in the cave have no idea on the reality, and all
they see is a shadow representation of it. The foundation of the allegory lies on Plato
s view and belief that there is unseen truths and reality lying underneath the apparent
surface of things, and only the most determined and enlightened individuals can
grasp. The individuals who grasp these invisible truths deserve to be rulers and
leaders of the ordinary people. Being used to the confinement of the cave, the
prisoners are quick to resist enlighten in the similar manner students resist education
at first. The chained and uneducated prisoners in the cave portray ordinary people
who regard material objects and the world as real, genuine, and important.

Abstract (summar of paper) When observing a star, the lager it is the shorter its life
is going to be. The smaller it is the longer the life. Shorter life is not saying much
though, as the most massive stars live for billions of years. When a star reaches about
middle age, it starts fusing hydrogen into helium. Once it has run out of usable
hydrogen that it can convert into helium, it can then take on one of several paths. It
can lead to white dwarfs, novae, supernovae, neutron stars or even black holes.

Type II supernovaes, which are more common, occurs when a star runs out of
nuclear fuel and collapses under its own gravity. In a Type II supernovae, once the
star s core surpasses a certain mass (The Chandrasekhar limit) the star begins to
impolode. The core then heats up and becomes denser. Eventually the implosion
bounces back off the core, expelling the stellar material into space. What s left is a
neutron star.
Type I supernovaes lack a hydrogen signature in their light spectra. These type of
supernovae are generally thought to originate from white dwarf stars in a close binary
system. As the gas of the copanion star accumulates onto the white dwarf, the white
dwarf is progressively compressed, and eventually sets off a runaway nuclear reaction
inside that eventually leads to a cataclysmi supernova outburst.

with Cal State LA, clients, and myself. The termination process has helped me deal
and cope with my mixed emotions, because it makes it easier for me to end a
chapter in my life, and transition into a new one. At my internship, LAUSD had a
mandatory End of the Year training that required all of the interns to attend. At the
training, they talked about how we should set aside time for ourselves, self care.
Social work can be get very stressful in a school environment, so it is our
responsibility to make time for ourselves, and recover mentally. I am definitely
going to a mental break this upcoming summer. For example, I got accepted into the

the MSW program is very intense and rigorous, that is why I am giving myself time
to just relax, and spend time with my familyand friends. At my internship, I have

Libor, the London Interbank Lending Rate, is considered to be one of the most
important rates in finance because trillions of financial contracts utilize this rate.
Libor is used globally as a base interest rate in which it is used to set up a range of
financial deals. It is also used as measure for financial institutions to gauge their trust
level in the financial system and to check each institutions financial health. This rate
is determined by a group of leading banks that submit the rates of ten different
currencies and fifteen lengths of loans, which range from overnight to twelve months.
The most important part is the three month dollar Libor , which is the rate that other
banks would borrow from each other for three months. Traders managed to
manipulate this rate because the rates submitted are estimates; it would be relatively
easy to submit false figures. Traders at several banks conspired to influence the Libor
by getting colleagues to submit rates that were higher or lower than their actual
estimate.
Libor is an interest rate that is determined by the rates at which banks lend funds to
each other on the London interbank market. Every day the banks submit their
borrowing costs to the Thomson Reuters data collection service in which an agent
calculates out Libor. The agent discards the highest and lowest quarter of submissions
and then averages out the remaining rates to calculate out Libor for the day. Barclays
manipulated this rate by submitting rates
22. Character Foils In Hamlet
In William Shakespeare s Hamlet, Hamlet has three main character foils: Laertes,
Ophelia, and Fortinbras.
Hamlet s main character foil is Laertes, son of Polonius and brother of Ophelia. At
the beginning of the play, we learn that Hamlets father is murdered by his uncle from
the ghost of his father. The ghost tells Hamlet The serpent that did sting thy father s
life now wears his crown (I.2.41 42). In Act III Scene 4 Hamlet kills Laertes father
Polonius in Gertrude s chambers. The death of Hamlet s dad had a very depressing
effect on him. He asks himself many questions before taking revenge for his father.
Laertes, on the other hand, takes immediate action. Laertes quickly returns to France
as soon as he hears about Polonius death. Once

Propaganda is described as the act of persuading other people into believing what
you believe. In regards to its application in the World War 2, propaganda was used
to persuade other nations about the military and political might of the Nazi.
Propaganda enforces the doctrine to all people. It employs a plethora of mediums
such as speech, rally, mass media to achieve its purpose of brainwashing and makes
it extremely compelling and powerful. Hitler and the Nazi advocated for the spreads

And...
Describe and assess the explicit (and sometimes merely implicit) notions of
freedom and unfreedom we find in the texts we have read by Marx, Mill and
Freud. Use the esoteric traditions we have examined thus far (from the Book of Job
to Plato) as a comparative yardstick, or point of reference, but without letting them
take over the foreground in your paper the latter should be reserved for these three
figures. Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, and John Stuart Mill are three authors who
tackle the topic of freedom in unique ways, but their messages are fundamentally the
same and continue the ideas that we encountered in the esoteric texts as well as in
The Matrix: . First, we have Karl Marx s Capital: Critique of Political Economy and
The Communist Manifesto, where we encounter the proletariat, or the working class
people regarded collectively. In these two texts, the latter of which was co authored
by Frederick Engels, we learn that the proletariat is enslaved just like the people in
the matrix. And just like the people in the matrix, the proletariat is oblivious to this
limit on its freedom. That is why in Karl Marx s view, unfreedom is what we are
living in now. According to him, many people think that abolishing private property
through communismis what will infringe on our freedom, but that is not the case.
Specifically, in The Communist Manifesto Marx states, You are horrified at our

The figures I show are for the US. I expect that the European countries with all of
the current debt problems would likely have similar or worse values, if calculations
were done for them.
I think the way GDP is calculated today misses many of the linkages as to what is
really happening. I know my model is not exactly right but I hope it gives some
insight as to what is really happening, as oil prices and the credit markets interact to
affect the economy.
As I look at this model, one question comes up: What if a similar oil price run up
occurs again, followed by more recession, and even more reduction in lending?
Governments are already spending far more than they take in. The high spending
already in place, and the large gap between revenue and expenditures, makes it clear
that there is not much room for a repeat stimulus program. The next time around
could be much worse! (Treberg, 2010)

28. Hamlet Soliloquy Analysis Essay
Hamlet, the main character of William Shakespeare s play Hamlet, is one of the
most complex characters ever created. His intricacy can be seen in the amount of
soliloquies he speaks throughout the play. Each one of Hamlet s soliloquies reveals
his innermost thoughts and gives the reader or audience insight as to what he is
feeling at that time. Hamlets quartet of soliloquies illustrates how Hamlet is initially
indecisive, but eventually makes a decision to take revenge against his uncle.
In Hamlet s first soliloquy he shows that he is angry with his mother and upset over
his father s death. Hamlet, however, does not think about taking revenge against his
uncle for marrying his mother, instead he is just furious at his mother for being ...

In this soliloquy he is mad at himself for waiting so long to take action to avenge
his father s death. Throughout this speech Hamlet is expressing self hatred and
scorn. In his self rage he says, I am pigeon livered and lack gall . Hamlet also
compares himself to the actor who was able to become so emotional about something
insignificant and wonders why he does not have that kind of passion about something
as important as his father s death. By the end of the soliloquy Hamlet has developed
a plan to begin taking action against his uncle, Claudius.
By Hamlet s third soliloquy he still has not taken action to avenge his father s
death and hates everyone around him, including himself. He begins his soliloquy
with the famous line To be, or not to be? With this line Hamlet is asking whether is
it better to be alive or to be dead. In this soliloquy Hamlet contemplates suicide and
discusses the trials of life. He wishes not to have to deal with the hardships of life,
but realizes that he is not brave enough to take his own life. Not only is he, like
most humans, afraid of the unknown, but he is also afraid of committing a sin and
damning his soul. At the end of his third soliloquy Hamlet has yet to do as his father
s ghost told him and Hamlet is still angry with himself for being such a coward.
Hamlet s final soliloquy is invoked by a conversation he has with the captain of
Fortinbras army. Hamlet realizes that other people are willing to fight

30. Mental Health Illnesses Have A Genetic Contribution
Studies revolving around twin and family history have been proving to show that
mental health illnesses have a genetic contribution. Mental health professionals have
long known that certain mental illnesses can run in families, due to the fact that
most, the chance of obtaining schizophrenia or bipolar disorder with no genetic
factor is around one perfect, as to where if someone has a close relative with a
certain disorder, such as a parent or sibling, the risk factor jumps to around ten
percent. The genetic force behind the abundance of mental illnesses is especially
strong in identical twins who have a risk factor of a little less than fifty percent.

As of 2002, genes have appeared to influence the development of mental illnesses in
three major ways: they may ultimately lead to causes that cause disorders such as
Alzheimer s or schizophrenia; they could possibly be responsible for the
abnormalities in an individual s development before or after birth; and lastly it can
enhance a person s susceptibility to depression, multiple anxiety disorders, substance
abuse problems, or personality disorders. One technology achievement that has been
contributed to the vast advances in the study of biological psychiatry in the last
twenty years is high speed computing. The faster computers have enabled
researchers to advance rough estimates of heritability of multiple disorders to being
able to accurately compute the quantifications of genetic effects. In multiple cases
the data achieved by these supercomputers have led to significant studies of the
causes of specific disorders. For instance, in the 1960s and 1970s, schizophrenia
was believed to be caused by the lack of affection toward a child by their mother,
however, it has been said that the heritability of the disorder may be as much as
eighty percent and not actually from the cold hardness of a mother. Another illness
proved wrong is autism. Autism was blamed by faulty parenting, but is now known to
be more than ninety percent heritable. ( As

way of expressing his feelings towards the hip hop culture and their views on
homosexuality. During Macklemore s life, he grew up with a gay uncle, however it
was not just the problem with equality that powered the song. The obvious and
outrageous use of the term gay in the hip hop world was utilized as a disparaging
term also fueled the creation of Same Love. So many people have used and are still
using words like that s gay and you re gay in casual everyday conversation and

42. The Appeals Court Judges Violated Ethics Laws
It is sad when the Appeals Court Judges Violated Ethics Laws, Report Says
according to Sam Hananel in the Huffington Post on April 28,2014. The Center for
Public Integrity released a report Monday that found twenty four cases in which
judges ruled on the case despite owning stock in the company appearing before them.
Also in another two cases the judges where financially tied to the law firms
representing the parties. When the judges found out sixteen of them sent out letters to
the parties involved to disclose the violations. The judges said that their failure to
withdraw from the cases was an oversight. (Hananel) In a 2011 case the 11th United
StatesCircuit Court of Appeals judgein Atlanta, Judge James Hill, ruled in favor of
the health care giant Johnson Johnson while in a lawsuit over a malfunctioning
medication pump. Judge James Hill apparently owned $100,000 in Johnson Johnson
stock during this verdict. According to a new policy adopted by the Judicial
Conference in the United States back in 2006, all federal courtsare required to
conduct automated screenings to help avoid possible conflicts of interest in court
cases. The database sadly is only as good as the information provided by the
judges. Also according to federal law, judges who own even one share in a company
must disqualify themselves from the case. An investigation of the three most recent
years of financial disclosure reports that 255 out of the 258 judges who sit in the 13
federal appeals

44. Military Brat Analysis
I am a military brat. With that, there are a few aspects that have fostered me into
someone who I believe to have high merit. For one, moving every three years isn t
a walk in the park, but I learned to adapt. I am a people person, which originated
from constantly meeting new people with each and every move. Meeting tons of
new people created a trend, people with similar personalities, likes, dislikes. It
became easy to put people into categories and to figure them out to the point where
fitting into any social group wasn t a problem. The military has made me confident
in who I am, it has forced me to come out of my shell, and it has taught me to
overcome difficult times and keep pushing forward. Before my freshman year, my
family and I
45. The Music Of The Song
A repetition of an upbeat piano piece, cheerful drum beats, and laughter from the
audience, the beginning of this song might lead you to believe this is a classic
show tune. Nina Simone, the songwriter and performer, certainly wants you to
think this song is innocuous. She goes as far as to describe this song as a show
tune in the beginning of the lyrics. I believe, at Carnegie Hall back in 1964, she
focused on this aspect of the song to let the white audience s guard down just long
enough to surprise them with a powerful message.
The song s instrumental is purposely deceptive, it s lively and repetitive. There is one
subtle but significant change in the chords during the song. As she reveals in her
lyrics and tone that this is not meant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This grievous happening dramatically influenced Simone s views and music. She
believed that non violence was the correct way to fight prevalent racism. However,
in her autobiography she mentions how she attempted to make a home made pistol
and kill somebody responsible after she saw the incident on the news. The influence
on her music was also significant. Before the bombing, Simone concentrated her
music career on folk and show tunes. However, enraged by the killings, she wrote
her first protest song, Mississippi Goddam. She wrote the song in an hour, which
clearly explains the raw rage, disappointment and disgust she displays in the lyrics
(Cleary Simone, 1992).
Can t you see it? Can t you feel it? she asked to the white audience at Carnegie Hall,
where the song premiered. She expresses how she has lost faith in white America
in the first verses, I don t belong there. I ve even stopped believing in prayer. Her
bluntness comes to a climax when she sings, oh, but this whole country full of lies.
You are all gonna die and die like flies. And then Simone desperately pleads for the
civil rights blacks have been denied for so long by saying, you don t have to live next
to me. Just give me my equality.
The audience and the nation was indubitably surprised by Simone s performance. Not
only because of the

Impact When you hear influential, you think of something or someone who has
impacted society. Whether they were positive or negative, it is the contribution that
makes them influential. These people shape our history. In modern culture, it is
celebrities and entertainers that have the most influence. I believe that when
someone is given a platform they should use it to make a difference in the world. I
also think Nicki Minaj should be replaced with Beyonce on The 100 Most Influential
People of 2016 because she possess authenticity, generosity, charisma and passion.
Beyonce, a black woman, has been an inspiration to many. Recently, in the United
States, minorities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although she is currently still making music, her lyrics are not influential in any
way. In her 2016 song, Do You Mind she says, Yo, he ain t messin with no average
chick, pop, pop he got Nicki, he know that he hit the jackpot. she is basically
talking about her personal life, throughout the song it only gets more sexual and
less important. Her music in 2016 were neither moving nor inclusive like Beyonce
s. Beyonce produced music that would touch the souls of millions in a positive
way she is the light when people are feeling they are in a time of darkness. Nicki
did not provide that with the music she produced in 2016. Even though she has done
charities and produced songs that contain positive messages, she has not qualified to
be on The 100 Most Influential People for 2016. In 2016, she focused more on her
movie, The
