Summary Of The Film Imperfekt Strangers
The film Imperfekt Strangers revolves around a pseudo Christian cult the Faith Community that is
based in Bloomington, Indiana. In the film, there are two Indiana University students who are
roommates with two members of the cult. This movie reflects from actual events that happened in the
1970s in Bloomington, Indiana. The pseudo Christian cult the Local Church that was held in
Bloomington was led by Witness Lee who tried to gain members through college students and others
around in the city ( Are ). Throughout the film, the two roommates who are part of the cult tries to
convince the other two roommates, Steve and Tyler to join the cult. However, tension builds up with
the cult members and the students when they would not convert and Steve s best friend Richie ends up
joining the Christian cult. Furthermore, Steve and Tyler end up worried and concerned around the
other roommates because their practices of following Christianity are eerie; they become
uncomfortable with the other followers who would also come to the house to preach. Likewise, Steve
and Tyler then confront their roommate Matty that they do not want to partake in the cult. At the end,
the two roommates Harold and Matty leaves Tyler and Steve. Due to the film being based on true
events, Matt Walls character Tyler is deemed to be the most believable character in the film and
convincing that all these events are naturally occurring on a day to day basis.
At first, Tyler is accepting of his roommates Harold

Overfishing And Its Effects On The Environment
In today s world most people do not care about the environment. People abuse the natural resources
that we were given for their own benefit. It is estimated that 60 percent of the worlds population lives
within 60km of the coast and that each year more than 2 billion tons of carbon dioxide is absorbed into
the ocean. Almost all of the problems with the ocean are man made. Ocean heath has deteriorated due
to humans depleting fish supplies, polluting the ocean, and a general lack of knowledge about just
how fragile the ocean is.
Overfishing is one of the largest and most relevant problems effecting ocean health today. It is defined
as The practice of commercial and non commercial fishing which depletes a fishery by catching so

Over the past several decades, humans have caused the health of our ocean to decline considerably.
Along with climate change and ocean acidification, overfishing has destroyed many marine
ecosystems. In the 1990 s, one of the worlds most abundant cod populations was quickly destroyed.
The Newfoundland cod fishery had been one of the most productive cod fisheries in the world.
Fishing for cod in Newfoundland had dated back to the 16th century, when the amount of fish seemed
endless. The Canadians had traditionally fished sustainably for cod using small boats and traditional
methods such as jigging or small inshore gill nets, but in the 1950 s and 1960 s other countries began
to join in on the fishing, using larger boats and nets. England, U.S., The Soviet Union, Spain, Portugal
and Germany all joined in on the action, increasing the annual catch from 250,000 tons to over
800,000 tons in 1968. From then on, the population slowly began to decline. With so many being
caught each year, the fish were no longer able to reproduce as efficiently and renew their numbers to
keep up with the demand. In addition to an increase in the commercial fishing fleets, new fishing
technologies were created to help catch as many fish as possible. Larger nets that dragged along the
bottom were created to catch every possible fish. These nets were killing young fish, other marine life,
and the food source for the cod, which eventually led to the entire

The Causes Of Antidepressants
There has been evidence that links antidepressants to the causes of violent outbursts in individuals.
This led to my decision in doing my ORT on whether antidepressants have more of a negative effect
on the human body rather than the positive effects they are expected to have. This investigation will be
carried out by sending various surveys to psychiatrics. These are doctors who specialize in the
diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses such as depression. Another survey will be sent to
individuals who are currently or were previously on antidepressants. I decided to do this topic because
antidepressants are supposed to help people deal with depression; however this is not the case in some
instances. There was a shooting at Columbine High

Prenatal Care Impact
Early Prenatal Care and Its Impact on Healthy Pregnancies and Babies Early prenatal care prevents
potential medical problems, and increases opportunities for a positive outcome. Pregnant women who
enter into prenatal care at the first trimester receive the education, information and support needed to
have a healthy pregnancy. Also, the medical provider has a higher opportunity to control pre existing
conditions, or pregnancy related conditions that can complicate pregnancy, and make sure that the
baby is growing and developing appropriately.
Pregnant women who do not receive appropriate care have higher chances to have complications
during the pregnancy and adverse outcomes. According to Child Trends Databank (2015), women who

The Schlieffen Plan Essay
The Schlieffen Plan
The Schlieffen Plan is commonly though misleadingy identified with the German western offensive at
the start of the First World War in August 1914, which began as a campaign of rapid movement but
ended in deadlock and trench warfare. The plan is generally seen as a desperate gamble almost certain
to fail, and its recklessness is counted as part of Germany s war guilt the plan held out the false
promise of a quick victory, and so it underpinned the short war illusion that led Germany into a long
war of attrition, ending with her defeat and collapse in 1918. This analysis confuses two quite different
moments in history. The Schlieffen Plan was not designed to meet the strategic challenge Germany
faced in 1914, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then we can turn to the altered version that Moltke actually used at the beginning of the First World
War.
In February 1891 Count Alfred von Schlieffen was appointed Chief of the Prussian General Staff, a
post which he held until the end of 1905. The most important responsibility of the General Staff was
to produce the annual deployment plans, which stipulated how the German army was to be drawn up
ready for battle in case of war. The initial pattern of deployment was the basis of the operational plan
for the conduct of the war itself. The General Staff routinely tested these war plans in studies and
exercises. During most of Schlieffen s time as Chief of Staff, the essential strategic problem for
Germany was indeed the likelihood that the next war would have to be fought against two enemies on
widely separated fronts, the French in the west and the Russians in the east. Schlieffen never found a
convincing solution to this problem. His suggestion was to deploy much greater forces on one of the
fronts in order to defeat that enemy quickly and decisively, and then to use rail mobility to reinforce
the other front and win a decisive victory there too. That sounded fine in theory, but when it was tested
in exercises it proved hard to achieve. An initial victory on one front could not be fully exploited
because of the need to switch forces promptly to the other front. Once that happened, the first enemy

An Analysis Of Catullus Poetry
I have read that you have had a interesting life. I think that it is interesting that your family was not
wealthy, does that affect the fact that you did not get married? I would be really interested if you were
affected by that. Were you really a descendant of Celts and Iberians? That would be cool if you could
date back to then. You were also born along the Salo river? That must of been good for growing food
since you have a water source nearby. I still can not believe that you were in a group, plotting to kill
the emperor Nero, and have encountered the one and only Lucan! You, Martial born to a unwealthy
family, was born on one of Rome s seven hills, Quirinal! That is super cool! You also introduced few
themes not introduced by Catullus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You also were a hilarious but kinda of a rude person. When you were writing these poems, did people
approve it ? When would you find the ideas of writing such harsh but funny poems? If you would
think of doing these types of things on you fellow comrades, you would have no friends at all! Have
you ever been acted to like this? Once you have, think how harsh you are to others and how it affects
the people you make fun of! Did you ever think of using kind words in your poetry? That might be a
good idea if you want to be liked by anyone. I know some people, but none as mean or offensive as
you. Even though you had a lot of people not make you their top star, you were still recognized for
your work. If children saw, spoke, or heard your work, their parents would not approve. You made lots
of work that was good, but not very appropriate. Were you made fun of in your past life? If that
happened, that would not be surprising, since you also were making the same type of offensive poetry
as someone would do to you. The life of you is and always was very interesting along with all of the
poetry you create. Would you purposely or accidentally make the epigrams offensive? How and why
did you make so many epigrams? You would be with my angry side if you would insult me once. Only
one insult and I would be extra angry. The people of Rome probably disliked you and your epigrams.
Whenever the people saw you, they would go and think you would insult them and make them very
unhappy. Whenever romans saw you, they would cringe and think they should run before an insult
comes out of his mouth about them from you. Would you donate money to the Commoda? That would
help you and others. Being a person to help others would give you a chance to make others like you
more than now. With the thought of the Commoda, did you often go to the bath houses? The
bathhouses sound very interesting and nice with the cold and hot waters. Why, with the

Essay on The Station Nightclub Fire West Warwick, Rhode...
The Station Nightclub Fire West Warwick, Rhode Island.
The building of the Station Nightclub was constructed in approximately 1946. Many restorations and
repairs were made to the building since the time of construction by different owners to fulfill their
business needs. The building was a wood frame construction with wooden shingles on the exterior
walls that also included a flat roof, but the interior walls surrounding the stage were staffed with sound
proof polyurethane insulating foam. Windows were located on the north side of the building and on
the east side of the front entrance. All of the windows had security bars on them (this could be an
issue!). The building had only four doors; a front main door, a bar side exit door, a ... Show more

They had to request for mutual aid from the encompassing jurisdictions for any apparatus and
ambulances available. The end result was a combination of 583 fire, EMS, and police personnel
including 57 ambulances (BLS ALS) and two buses for transportation and shelter.
The Local, State and Federal agencies were called to investigate the Station Nightclub fire incident
and they found many issues. The polyurethane foam that was on the interior walls was the major
factor in the Station Nightclub fire. It was easily ignited and also contributed to a faster fire spread
within the building. According to NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, the interior finish is required to be
Class A or B for general assembly areas with occupant loads of more than 300. It has been calculated
that the number of occupants at the Station Nightclub was around 440 458 people, obviously well over
this limit. The ignition of polyurethane foam gave out a magnitude of smoke and heat in such a short
period of time and created mass chaos, thus resulting in a crowd wide panic towards the initial entry
point. Also NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, section 13.2.3.6.1 states that the main entrance/exit shall be
of a width that accommodates one half of the total occupant load and shall be at the level of exit
discharge or shall connect to a stairway or ramp leading to a street. If the owner of The Station

Five Signature Themes Analysis
Signature themes are skills we innately possess that can develop into talents and strengths used to
produce excellence. Personally, my five signature themes; empathy, achiever, learner, strategic, and
connectedness, have been apparent my entire life and can develop into strengths promoting success in
my future. Few aspects of my strengths came as a surprise, other than how accurate my assessment
was. Others see my empathy and signature themes as weaknesses needing improvement, but now I
realize that I can grow my skills into my greatest strengths to succeed in my future career, my spiritual
journey and in my relationships.

Achievers typically are skilled advisors to several individuals, which works with my empathy theme
in helping others. Achievers not only have the stamina to work vigorously, but also set lofty goals and
relentlessly pursue them. The learner skill explains my intense desire for gaining knowledge each day.
Habitually I bring together multiple pieces of information eagerly referring to my newly acquired
knowledge, both with school and with family and friends. Typically, I become frustrated until I figure
out why events happen the way they do, which helps me strive to learn as much as I can about it. With
goals of being a Psychologist these themes can help me by setting the goal of my PhD, giving me the
stamina to achieve my goal, the quest for knowledge in my field, and relentlessly pursuing my degree
to become the best Psychologist I can be. Learner and Achiever can also improve my spiritual journey

American Involvement In The United States Essay
The role of the United States now should be less involved with other countries because the United
State gets involved with other places too quickly even if it is right or wrong. Our country also takes
land that will benefit us more than others all for the wrong reasons. Also we are going head on head
with other countries for power and while fighting for power other groups are evolving from conflicts.
The United States gets involved in other countries even if it is not necessary. According to Mark
Twain he once said that it is going against our traditions and we are entering in an unjust and trivial
war. This war is against helpless people and robbery. The United States should be ashamed about the
choices that we make and how we go through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We did this because we wanted to be able to trade sugar with them and have a navel base. Geography
Cuba was in a great location. In Fidel Castro s offer with the United States he said that the United
States should resume sugar purchase from Cuba. The trade between these two places turned out to
benefit both but without us taking control over Cuba and saying we were helping them then none of
the trade would happened. Once we came into Cuba to help we pushed the people in a portion on the
land they could have and took the rest for our own good.
In present day now we still have problems with power between countries now. In an article by Toby
Craig Jones he starts out saying how the in the Middle East the oil production has enchanted global
powers and the United States has been particularly powerful. It is surprising on how we are the ones in
power even though we aren t the ones producing the oil. All this oil production is happening in the
Middle East where Americans aren t really liked because we had troops their taking control of things.
From being over there more and more terrorist groups are rising trying to take over the power. All
countries are fighting for the same thing, power.
Overall, the role of the United States should be less involved due to past and present events. Not only
do we do thing for all the wrong reasons people still support them even of it going against their
morals. Please keep

Employees And Employees For The Layoff
Layoffs are an inevitable part of any business that affects both employers and employees. Companies
usually decide to do layoffs when they have financial difficulties; financially troubled companies
reduce the number of employees to cut their costs and generate profit. Laying off employees is one of
the toughest decisions that management has to make. Employee reduction is a decision that must be
made carefully and with caution because it involves not only legal issues, but also affects morale in
the company.
If an employee is laid off based on the subjective criteria such as the supervisor s opinion about the
employee s characteristics, the employee can take legal actions against the company. Therefore, the
company must use objective and quantifiable criteria such as the yearly evaluations, productivity, or
seniority to base its decision of whom should be laid off. Also, to prevent legal issues, a company
must have policies, procedures, and layoff criteria in relate on how to choose employees for the layoff.
The policies and dismissal rules must be consistent across the company to preserve morale and
prevent favoritism.
Layoffs affect morale in the company; when employees feel layoffs are unfair or not justified, it
decreases their trust and loyalty and increases their resistance to the change. Therefore, in order to
keep morality at the high level, the company should be honest about the reasons for the layoffs.
Layoffs should not come as a surprise to employees;

Swanson s first office job held in political local areas. When I ran for election four years ago, I made
the point then that I would not be running for another term after this current term, says Swanson. He
believes in term limits, and that it is good to always have new people cycling through a political

The Awakening By Kate Chopin
Maternity Leave In The Worth of Women, Moderata stated, when it s said that women must be subject
to men, the phrase should be understood in the same sense as when we say we are subject to natural
disasters...it s not a case of being subjected in the sense of obeying, but rather of suffering an
imposition (Moderata). Throughout history, the inherent inferiority of women to men has often been
cited as a way to deter women from becoming an individual and pursuing more in life. This notion is a
prevalent issue in The Awakening by Kate Chopin; in which Edna fights to live her own way and is
ultimately unable to survive in the cage of society. Not only has this supposed inferiority effected
women for generations, but it has created ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After years of following the gender roles that have been placed upon her she finally, was beginning to
realize her position in the universe as a human being, and to recognize her relations as an individual to
the world within and about her (Chopin 14). Edna has a personal awakening, in which she realizes that
she does not need to be held back, and she can escape from the cage she has been put in. Over time
she separates herself from the society around her, and begins to become more independent and free.
By overcoming the, indescribable oppression, which seemed to generate in some unfamiliar part of
her consciousness (Chopin 8), Edna becomes herself, and pushes away the people around her. She
alienates herself from the life she was raised in, and begins to live as she wants, and be who she truly
is. Most importantly, she [has] resolved never again to belong to another than herself (Chopin 76).
Unlike the fragile housewives who she acquaints herself with, Edna is able to discover the freedom of
being an individual. Although her husband and her friends continued to pressure her to return home,
she can no longer go back; now that she has a taste of a fulfilled life she can not return to her aimless
life of solitude. This revelation that overcomes Edna, the reality that she is living an unfulfilled life
that she must fix, ultimately becomes too much for her. The social

The Theme Of Slavery In Beloved By Toni Morrison
Sixty Million and More
Sixty million and more, is the inscription at the beginning of the novel Beloved written by Toni
Morrison. It referred to the number of slaves killed from the time of the Middle Passage. In naming
the number so starkly, not saying anything further about it, Morrison pays testament to the horrendous
crime of the slave trade and the genocide it engendered. Through this epigraph, the author reminded
her readers of the frightening history of the slaves. I will call them my people, Which were not my

like Margaret Garner, having children was more a curse than a blessing. Female slaves were treated as

advantage to own female slaves who were fertile. The life of Margaret Garner did not end happily. She

The Road By Cormac Mccarthy, Ray Bradbury, And 1984
Dystopian fiction is an alternate society characterized by a focus on that which is contrary to the
author s ethos, portraying it as mass poverty, public mistrust, police state, or oppression. This genre
was chosen because it allows for readers to feel better and thankful for our society s current state. The
works that I used to investigate this genre were The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Fahrenheit 451 by
Ray Bradbury, and 1984 by George Orwell. All of these books are categorized in the dystopian genre
but have very different symbols, styles, and implications. Each of these novels have different styles
because some include a society with overbearing rules, such as Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, whereas The
Road has virtually no society. Despite their differences, the purpose of these novels is to demonstrate
that the only thing strong enough to conquer a corrupt and inhumane society is through true love and
passion. Dystopian fiction first came about in the early 1900 s and is read by many as political
warnings. Many authors of dystopian fiction explore at least one reason why things are the way the are
in the novel, which is used as an analogy for similar issues in the real world. One of the first well
known dystopian novels was We written by Yevgeny Zamyatin in 1921. It predicted a post apocalyptic
future in which society is entirely based on logic and modeled after mechanical systems. Shortly after
came George Orwell s 1984, a very well known book that is one of the books used

School Dress Code And Anti Dress Codes Essay
Students have been affected by dress codes for many years. Others, for better or for worse, never had
to deal with them. It has been debated for years between parents, students, and school systems alike as
to whether or not dress codes are appropriate to enforce. This essay will summarize, make an
argument, and analyze Krystal Miller s article on this subject, titled, School Dress Codes . School
Dress Codes is a 1990 article about the issues surrounding various city s experiences with enforcing a
school dress code. In the article, four different high schools in Detroit are examined, as well as a
school in Baltimore, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Depositions from both pro dress code and anti dress
code persons are included. The opposing end includes Mary Louise Starks, who is in charge of the
psychological services for the Detroit school system and says dress codes are not the solution to the
violence, A dress code is a temporary measure that is limited in scope. Students are committing these
crimes because they don t have a sense of power and self esteem. They steal from their peers to gain
control over another person (qtd. in Miller 87). An example of a pro dress code student from the
article is 17 year old Jonathon Johns, a senior at Dunbar High School in Baltimore, who says,
Violence isn t as bad as it was. There s no way to prove it s all due to the dress code, but I feel it s had
a big impact (qtd. in Miller 87). There are several testimonies and

working schedule, allowing greater flexibility to maintain a work/life balance. However, responsibility
relies on the owner to keep the business afloat so they must sacrifice the majority of their time in
planning and managing the business to produce the desired results. In addition, owners must seek
professional advice before making major financial and legal decisions to ensure they adhere to
industry legislations. 2.2 Ownership Structure The chosen ownership structure is a company because it
separates the owner s and the business liabilities and assets. Should the business fault and require
closure or is sold, a clear division of liabilities and assets will expedite the process. This also ensures

Mr Swift Monologue
He noodled and said, And hungry, too. Me, too. Are we gonna die? Five year olds can be quite dark.
Dunno. Before we could sink into a morbid and delicious exploration of our fate, a shiny new 1954
Mercury with a powder blue body, a black top and whitewall tires, came around the corner. It was our
neighbor, Mr. Swift. Oh, no! What s he doing here? I thought. I was many blocks farther from home
than I was supposed to be and had imagined our salvation would arrive in the form of a stranger. Mr.
Swift stopped and got out of his car to size up the situation. He didn t look happy. What are you two

hidden irritation. Yup, just as I thought, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Lutheranism
Lutheranism
The Roman Catholic Church dominated religion for many years in Europe and became an extremely
powerful institution. Over the years, the Roman church became corrupt and immoral in many ways.
The development of the Protestant Reformation, Lutheranism, was greatly influenced by political
events in the years proceeding the 16th century. The declared aim of the original reformer, Martin
Luther, was to restore the Christian faith as it had been at its formation, while salvaging what he
considered valuable from the Roman Catholic tradition that had developed during the previous
centuries. Luther broke the unity of the Catholic Church forever by exposing their faults and
misguided notions. Lutheranism spread quickly due to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lastly, the only person who could call a counsil was the Pope. This last point emphasizes that the
Roman Catholic Empire created laws of their own that were dictated by one sole person. Luther set
out to spread his idea of true Christianity.
The main ideology of Lutheranism is that salvation can be gained by three fundamental precepts: by
faith, by grace and by scripture alone. Luther felt that Salvation could not be achieved through good
works such as prayer or holy living: Good works do not make a good man, but a good man does good
works. (Luther, On Christian Liberty, p.9). Faith in God is created through the belief and love for Him;
salvation would rise from it nonetheless. Luther felt that it was up to every individual to interpret the
Scriptures and decide for himself what was good. This was a revolutionary concept, as previously it
had been only the Pope who could interpret the Scriptures. Another concept of Lutheranism was that
every believer could achieve priesthood. All men who had true faith had the opportunity to serve God
and were equal in His eyes. Among Christians there shall and can be no authority; rather all are alike
subject to one another. (Luther, Part Two. How Far Temporal Authority Extends, p.31). Bishops and
priests in the Lutheran church were not authoritative figures but simply serving an office.
In comparison to other sects that evolved from the Protestant Reformation, Lutheranism had

Information Literacy And Digital Literacy
Information and digital literacy play vital roles in our society and are necessary tools for citizens to
have in this growing information age. Information literacy is the ability to recognize the extent and
nature of an information need, then to locate, evaluate, and effectively use the needed information. (
Information Literacy Definition , n.d.) Digital literacy is the ability to find, evaluate, utilize, share, and
create content using information technologies and the Internet. ( What is Digital Literacy? , n.d.)The
purpose of this essay is to show the contrasting and similar experiences people have had acquiring

digital world (Gloria Jacobs, 2014). In my interview with family friend and 62 year old, Steve Garza,
acquiring digital literacy was difficult to do at first but grew progressively easier over the years. Garza
was introduced to his first computer in the early 80 s at the age of 32 to which he said the experience
was difficult to get used to since it was a very new thing . With no formal computer classes or training,
he became digitally literate through trial and error and the pressure to evolve with his generation as
computers became more prevalent. Though throughout the years, he claims that digital literacy
became a necessity when the World Wide Web was introduced. With more information being available
online, Garza says his generation was practically forced to become digitally literate in order to keep up
with the rest of the world. On the contrary, millennial and 18 year old friend, Clemens Koolen, grew
up surrounded by technology, which made it fairly easy for him to become digitally literate. At the age
of 5, Koolen was introduced to his first computer, which he remembers it to be a not so difficult thing,
with the exception of learning how to use the keyboard. As the digital age evolved, Koolen kept up to
date with technologies various complexities and improvements. With the rise of the Internet, he also

Urban Poverty in China
Over the past two decades, China has experienced rapid economic growth, which has also brought
about a rise in social and economic inequality. A nation that once operated under the principle of
egalitarianism, China now struggles with a level of inequality that has surpassed most of its East Asia
neighbours. In the 1980 s, poverty was a problem restricted mainly to rural areas, but recently it has
forayed into urban areas as well. Since the mid 1990 s, urban poverty has grown at a very fast pace
under the influence of globalization (Fulong, Webster, and Yuting 5). The economic restructuring of
China is a huge contributor to this phenomenon. The Chinese government officially recognized urban
poverty as a problem in 2001 through a report ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The earliest of these attempts was by expanding higher education, which succeeded in matriculation,
but did not provide sufficient stimulus towards consumption as families opted to save for higher
education. The attempt to commercialize the housing market also ended up in a similar scenario, as
families opted to increase their savings in order to afford the higher prices charged for apartments
(Riskin and Qin 25). The urban poverty problem arises from the disparity between lack of income
growth and massive growth in social wealth (Fulong, Webster, and Yuting 37). In order to remedy this
problem, the government should not develop policies targeting only the poor; instead, it should ensure
that there exists a resource framework that is not only adequate for rich and middle class needs, but
one that is accessible to everyone. A strategic readjustment that ensures commensurate growth in both
social and economic wealth would be highly beneficial to the people (Wanlong and Wong 26). The
growth of incomes for residents should be strengthened and should also be accompanied by reforms in
state owned corporations.
One of the ways to remedy the consumption problem is through a rise in income levels and
implementation of reforms in monopolized state owned industries to bring about income
redistribution. Income redistribution is a government role that can be attained through proper fiscal
policies like tax reforms to ensure a balanced and fair

features, and intellectual disability. Down syndrome is one of the most common chromosomes and
abnormalities in humans. Those with Down syndrome nearly always have physical and intellectual
disabilities. As adults their mental abilities are typically similar to an eight or nine year old. They
typically have poor immune function and generally reach developmental milestones at a later age.

The recovery process is life long and although there are some full functioning Down syndrome
patients there are others who require daily care and observation. Individuals with Down syndrome can
be identified by their features. Down syndrome has typical physical and mental characteristics, but
only seldom all of them or even most of them are found in one single person. If we study the character
of children with the syndrome, we will find they have a pleasant and convenient temperament and a
special character. They are friendly, sensitive and have a sharp and developed emotional intelligence.
These traits assist them in fitting in as a pat of society and the community rather successfully. The
discernible differences concerning the medical condition and the developmental level between Down
syndrome children are caused, among other things, by the different medical treatments and the support
of each child s environment. Support medical, educational, environmental can bring many
improvements in the children s function, allowing them to extract their maximum potential and

The Invention Of Nature By Andrea Wulf
Alexander Von Humboldt was a Prussian naturalist whose work has helped shape and define our
modern understanding of nature. He used enlightenment rationalism to navigate his way through life
and his deep connection to his natural environment inspired a visionary movement in ushering out the
monotheistic creationist worldview. Humboldt s books, diaries and letters reveal a visionary, a thinker
far ahead of his time. He invented isotherms...discovered the magnetic equator...came up with the idea
of vegetation and climate zones that snake across the globe...and revolutionized the way we see the
natural world. (Invention of Nature, 5). Although his work was extensive, author of The Invention of
Nature, Andrea Wulf suggests that his work has largely been forgotten due to his polymath approach
of including art, history, poetry and politics that made him unfavorable. While Humboldt gave us our
concept of nature itself, the irony is that Humboldt s views have become so self evident that we have
largely forgotten the man behind them. However, although his work individual work may be
overlooked, Humboldt s success in making science more accessible work and as a result, his legacy
lives on as the source of inspiration for many influential thinkers throughout history. One of the most
influential thinkers inspired by Humboldt, who helps us remember Humboldt s legacy is John Muir.
Inspired by Von Humboldt s travels, Muir wanted to explore the world just like Von Humboldt. He

Disadvantages Of Lean Manufacturing
2 LEAN MANUFACTURING:
As per Womack, Jones, and Roos (1990), the expression Lean speaks to a framework that uses less
input with a specific end goal to make the same yields than those made by a conventional large scale
manufacturing framework, while expanding the scope of various completed merchandise for the end
client. The term lean manufacturing is synonymous with various names, for example, agile
manufacturing, just in time manufacturing, synchronous manufacturing, world class manufacturing,
and continuous flow (serial production).
Lean manufacturing is an operational procedure arranged toward accomplishing the most limited
conceivable process duration by wiping out waste. It is gotten from the Toyota production system and
its goal is to expand the worth included work by taking out squanders and decreasing superfluous
work. The method frequently diminishes the time between a client request and shipment, and it is
intended to enhance benefit, consumer loyalty, throughput time, and worker inspiration. The
advantages of lean manufacturing for the most part are lower costs, higher quality, and shorter lead
times. The term lean manufacturing is made to speak to less human exertion in the organization, less
assembling space, less interest in apparatuses, less stock in advancement, and less designing ... Show

Knee Injury Summary
Summary of Article
This article begins with explain how even though volleyball is a non contact sport, it holds a very high
risk of injury. The most frequent way injuries occur are because of poor landing techniques. Women
are more prone to these types of injuries because biologically they have weaker ligaments. The second
most common injuries are injuries to the ankle. Researchers have said that the best way to reduce
injuries is by practicing appropriate postural control. Postural control is also linked with balance.
Balance one of the main components of knee injury. Volleyball, basketball, and other active athletes
have not developed proper posture to land safely, causing many injuries to the knee and ankles.
Point of Agreement
I agree that there has to be some reason for non contact athletes, like volleyball players, are injuring
themselves. It makes sense that the injury is caused by a poor development of proper posture. With
anything in sports, it is important to develop proper form and technique to both execute the skill and
be safe while playing. Many athletes, even professional, have a hard time with proper technique. They
think they know everything about the game but forget the basics and end up injuring themselves.
Point of Disagreement
As much as it is probably true, I would have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It does a good job explaining that every injury has a cause of what happened. I like how it talked about
how something as simple as landing posture can be a huge cause in major injuries across many sports,
including volleyball. I think that these findings can help encourage coaches of all sport train their
athletes of proper form for both sport specific tactics and non sport specific tactics. Injuries while
doing something as simple as running or jumping continue to happen and we cannot assume anything
will change unless we are coached

The Treaty Of Versailles Was A Prime Minister Of France
The Treaty of Versailles was signed June 28th, 1919 after the Big Three had argued for months about
the consequences and negotiations of the treaty. The Big Three were David Lloyd George, Georges
Clemenceau, and Woodrow Wilson. Vittorio Orlando was the Prime Minister of France and had some
say in the treaty because he was one of the victor. He eventually walked out of the meeting because he
wasn t getting his way and gave up his position. Each had a different approach to the treaty and had
their own ideas about the consequences of Germany. Lloyd George was the Prime Minister of Britain
and more of a subtle approach to the treaty, but still believed Germany should pay for what they did.
He knew the treaty couldn t be too harsh; otherwise, Germany would try to get there revenge, and he
also water to keep Germany as a trading partner, so he didn t want Germany s economy too weak to
trade and was afraid that communism to spread to Germany. Georges Clemenceau was the Prime
Minister of France and was the harshest of the Big Three and wanted Germany to suffer. Germany
destroyed France killed hundreds of thousands. He believed Germany should brought to its knees and
never be strong enough to start war again. He wanted Germany to pay to rebuild France and all of the
damage they caused during the war. Woodrow Wilson was the President of USA and was the least
harsh. He wanted total world peace and didn t understand the hatred France and Britain had towards
Germany. He had

The Communication Model Of Communication
1. What is the transmission model of communication? Where does it come from? What does it do well
in helping us understand the process of communication in everyday life? What are its limitations? The
transmission model of communication as defined by James Carey is a process whereby messages are
transmitted or sent and distributed over distance and into space for the purpose of control. The
transmission model includes a sender on one end and a receiver on the other. In the middle is the
median that the message is being sent through. This comes from the nineteenth century from religious
origins. For example, to try to understand this model, we can think about missionaries. The
missionaries were sent from the Roman Catholic Church to other countries to spread the teaching of
Jesus in order to gain control of the people. The transmission does well in helping us understand the
efficiency, convenience, and influence/ control of communication in everyday life. The limitations if
the transmission model is that the transmission model doesn t let us understand the importance of
context that information takes on its meaning in particular times, in particular situations, with
particular people. Another one of its limitations is that the medium is neutralized and the transmission
model doesn t differentiate between different medium such as, newspapers, social media, and amber

  • 2. Summary Of The Film Imperfekt Strangers The film Imperfekt Strangers revolves around a pseudo Christian cult the Faith Community that is based in Bloomington, Indiana. In the film, there are two Indiana University students who are roommates with two members of the cult. This movie reflects from actual events that happened in the 1970s in Bloomington, Indiana. The pseudo Christian cult the Local Church that was held in Bloomington was led by Witness Lee who tried to gain members through college students and others around in the city ( Are ). Throughout the film, the two roommates who are part of the cult tries to convince the other two roommates, Steve and Tyler to join the cult. However, tension builds up with the cult members and the students when they would not convert and Steve s best friend Richie ends up joining the Christian cult. Furthermore, Steve and Tyler end up worried and concerned around the other roommates because their practices of following Christianity are eerie; they become uncomfortable with the other followers who would also come to the house to preach. Likewise, Steve and Tyler then confront their roommate Matty that they do not want to partake in the cult. At the end, the two roommates Harold and Matty leaves Tyler and Steve. Due to the film being based on true events, Matt Walls character Tyler is deemed to be the most believable character in the film and convincing that all these events are naturally occurring on a day to day basis. • 3. Overfishing And Its Effects On The Environment In today s world most people do not care about the environment. People abuse the natural resources that we were given for their own benefit. It is estimated that 60 percent of the worlds population lives within 60km of the coast and that each year more than 2 billion tons of carbon dioxide is absorbed into the ocean. Almost all of the problems with the ocean are man made. Ocean heath has deteriorated due to humans depleting fish supplies, polluting the ocean, and a general lack of knowledge about just how fragile the ocean is. Overfishing is one of the largest and most relevant problems effecting ocean health today. It is defined as The practice of commercial and non commercial fishing which depletes a fishery by catching so many adult ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over the past several decades, humans have caused the health of our ocean to decline considerably. Along with climate change and ocean acidification, overfishing has destroyed many marine ecosystems. In the 1990 s, one of the worlds most abundant cod populations was quickly destroyed. The Newfoundland cod fishery had been one of the most productive cod fisheries in the world. Fishing for cod in Newfoundland had dated back to the 16th century, when the amount of fish seemed endless. The Canadians had traditionally fished sustainably for cod using small boats and traditional methods such as jigging or small inshore gill nets, but in the 1950 s and 1960 s other countries began to join in on the fishing, using larger boats and nets. England, U.S., The Soviet Union, Spain, Portugal and Germany all joined in on the action, increasing the annual catch from 250,000 tons to over 800,000 tons in 1968. From then on, the population slowly began to decline. With so many being caught each year, the fish were no longer able to reproduce as efficiently and renew their numbers to keep up with the demand. In addition to an increase in the commercial fishing fleets, new fishing technologies were created to help catch as many fish as possible. Larger nets that dragged along the bottom were created to catch every possible fish. These nets were killing young fish, other marine life, and the food source for the cod, which eventually led to the entire ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Causes Of Antidepressants There has been evidence that links antidepressants to the causes of violent outbursts in individuals. This led to my decision in doing my ORT on whether antidepressants have more of a negative effect on the human body rather than the positive effects they are expected to have. This investigation will be carried out by sending various surveys to psychiatrics. These are doctors who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses such as depression. Another survey will be sent to individuals who are currently or were previously on antidepressants. I decided to do this topic because antidepressants are supposed to help people deal with depression; however this is not the case in some instances. There was a shooting at Columbine High ... Prenatal Care Impact Early Prenatal Care and Its Impact on Healthy Pregnancies and Babies Early prenatal care prevents potential medical problems, and increases opportunities for a positive outcome. Pregnant women who enter into prenatal care at the first trimester receive the education, information and support needed to have a healthy pregnancy. Also, the medical provider has a higher opportunity to control pre existing conditions, or pregnancy related conditions that can complicate pregnancy, and make sure that the baby is growing and developing appropriately. Pregnant women who do not receive appropriate care have higher chances to have complications during the pregnancy and adverse outcomes. • 8. The Schlieffen Plan Essay The Schlieffen Plan The Schlieffen Plan is commonly though misleadingy identified with the German western offensive at the start of the First World War in August 1914, which began as a campaign of rapid movement but ended in deadlock and trench warfare. The plan is generally seen as a desperate gamble almost certain to fail, and its recklessness is counted as part of Germany s war guilt the plan held out the false promise of a quick victory, and so it underpinned the short war illusion that led Germany into a long war of attrition, ending with her defeat and collapse in 1918. This analysis confuses two quite different moments in history. The Schlieffen Plan was not designed to meet the strategic challenge Germany faced in 1914, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then we can turn to the altered version that Moltke actually used at the beginning of the First World War. In February 1891 Count Alfred von Schlieffen was appointed Chief of the Prussian General Staff, a post which he held until the end of 1905. The most important responsibility of the General Staff was to produce the annual deployment plans, which stipulated how the German army was to be drawn up ready for battle in case of war. The initial pattern of deployment was the basis of the operational plan for the conduct of the war itself. The General Staff routinely tested these war plans in studies and exercises. During most of Schlieffen s time as Chief of Staff, the essential strategic problem for Germany was indeed the likelihood that the next war would have to be fought against two enemies on widely separated fronts, the French in the west and the Russians in the east. Schlieffen never found a convincing solution to this problem. His suggestion was to deploy much greater forces on one of the fronts in order to defeat that enemy quickly and decisively, and then to use rail mobility to reinforce the other front and win a decisive victory there too. That sounded fine in theory, but when it was tested in exercises it proved hard to achieve. An initial victory on one front could not be fully exploited because of the need to switch forces promptly to the other front. Once that happened, the first enemy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. An Analysis Of Catullus Poetry I have read that you have had a interesting life. I think that it is interesting that your family was not wealthy, does that affect the fact that you did not get married? I would be really interested if you were affected by that. Were you really a descendant of Celts and Iberians? That would be cool if you could date back to then. You were also born along the Salo river? That must of been good for growing food since you have a water source nearby. I still can not believe that you were in a group, plotting to kill the emperor Nero, and have encountered the one and only Lucan! You, Martial born to a unwealthy family, was born on one of Rome s seven hills, Quirinal! That is super cool! You also introduced few themes not introduced by Catullus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You also were a hilarious but kinda of a rude person. When you were writing these poems, did people approve it ? When would you find the ideas of writing such harsh but funny poems? If you would think of doing these types of things on you fellow comrades, you would have no friends at all! Have you ever been acted to like this? Once you have, think how harsh you are to others and how it affects the people you make fun of! Did you ever think of using kind words in your poetry? That might be a good idea if you want to be liked by anyone. I know some people, but none as mean or offensive as you. Even though you had a lot of people not make you their top star, you were still recognized for your work. If children saw, spoke, or heard your work, their parents would not approve. You made lots of work that was good, but not very appropriate. Were you made fun of in your past life? If that happened, that would not be surprising, since you also were making the same type of offensive poetry as someone would do to you. The life of you is and always was very interesting along with all of the poetry you create. Would you purposely or accidentally make the epigrams offensive? How and why did you make so many epigrams? You would be with my angry side if you would insult me once. Only one insult and I would be extra angry. The people of Rome probably disliked you and your epigrams. Whenever the people saw you, they would go and think you would insult them and make them very unhappy. Many restorations and repairs were made to the building since the time of construction by different owners to fulfill their business needs. The building was a wood frame construction with wooden shingles on the exterior walls that also included a flat roof, but the interior walls surrounding the stage were staffed with sound proof polyurethane insulating foam. Windows were located on the north side of the building and on the east side of the front entrance. All of the windows had security bars on them (this could be an issue!). They had to request for mutual aid from the encompassing jurisdictions for any apparatus and ambulances available. The end result was a combination of 583 fire, EMS, and police personnel including 57 ambulances (BLS ALS) and two buses for transportation and shelter. The Local, State and Federal agencies were called to investigate the Station Nightclub fire incident and they found many issues. The polyurethane foam that was on the interior walls was the major factor in the Station Nightclub fire. It was easily ignited and also contributed to a faster fire spread within the building. According to NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, the interior finish is required to be Class A or B for general assembly areas with occupant loads of more than 300. It has been calculated that the number of occupants at the Station Nightclub was around 440 458 people, obviously well over this limit. The ignition of polyurethane foam gave out a magnitude of smoke and heat in such a short period of time and created mass chaos, thus resulting in a crowd wide panic towards the initial entry point. Also NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, section 13.2.3.6.1 states that the main entrance/exit shall be of a width that accommodates one half of the total occupant load and shall be at the level of exit discharge or shall connect to a stairway or ramp leading to a street. • 14. Employees And Employees For The Layoff Layoffs are an inevitable part of any business that affects both employers and employees. Companies usually decide to do layoffs when they have financial difficulties; financially troubled companies reduce the number of employees to cut their costs and generate profit. Laying off employees is one of the toughest decisions that management has to make. Employee reduction is a decision that must be made carefully and with caution because it involves not only legal issues, but also affects morale in the company. If an employee is laid off based on the subjective criteria such as the supervisor s opinion about the employee s characteristics, the employee can take legal actions against the company. Therefore, the company must use objective and quantifiable criteria such as the yearly evaluations, productivity, or seniority to base its decision of whom should be laid off. Also, to prevent legal issues, a company must have policies, procedures, and layoff criteria in relate on how to choose employees for the layoff. The policies and dismissal rules must be consistent across the company to preserve morale and prevent favoritism. Layoffs affect morale in the company; when employees feel layoffs are unfair or not justified, it decreases their trust and loyalty and increases their resistance to the change. Therefore, in order to keep morality at the high level, the company should be honest about the reasons for the layoffs. Layoffs should not come as a surprise to employees; ... Throughout history, the inherent inferiority of women to men has often been cited as a way to deter women from becoming an individual and pursuing more in life. After years of following the gender roles that have been placed upon her she finally, was beginning to realize her position in the universe as a human being, and to recognize her relations as an individual to the world within and about her (Chopin 14). Edna has a personal awakening, in which she realizes that she does not need to be held back, and she can escape from the cage she has been put in. Over time she separates herself from the society around her, and begins to become more independent and free. By overcoming the, indescribable oppression, which seemed to generate in some unfamiliar part of her consciousness (Chopin 8), Edna becomes herself, and pushes away the people around her. She alienates herself from the life she was raised in, and begins to live as she wants, and be who she truly is. Most importantly, she [has] resolved never again to belong to another than herself (Chopin 76). Unlike the fragile housewives who she acquaints herself with, Edna is able to discover the freedom of being an individual. Although her husband and her friends continued to pressure her to return home, she can no longer go back; now that she has a taste of a fulfilled life she can not return to her aimless life of solitude. • 20. The Road By Cormac Mccarthy, Ray Bradbury, And 1984 Dystopian fiction is an alternate society characterized by a focus on that which is contrary to the author s ethos, portraying it as mass poverty, public mistrust, police state, or oppression. This genre was chosen because it allows for readers to feel better and thankful for our society s current state. The works that I used to investigate this genre were The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, and 1984 by George Orwell. All of these books are categorized in the dystopian genre but have very different symbols, styles, and implications. Each of these novels have different styles because some include a society with overbearing rules, such as Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, whereas The Road has virtually no society. Despite their differences, the purpose of these novels is to demonstrate that the only thing strong enough to conquer a corrupt and inhumane society is through true love and passion. Dystopian fiction first came about in the early 1900 s and is read by many as political warnings. Many authors of dystopian fiction explore at least one reason why things are the way the are in the novel, which is used as an analogy for similar issues in the real world. One of the first well known dystopian novels was We written by Yevgeny Zamyatin in 1921. It has been debated for years between parents, students, and school systems alike as to whether or not dress codes are appropriate to enforce. This essay will summarize, make an argument, and analyze Krystal Miller s article on this subject, titled, School Dress Codes . School Dress Codes is a 1990 article about the issues surrounding various city s experiences with enforcing a school dress code. In the article, four different high schools in Detroit are examined, as well as a school in Baltimore, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Depositions from both pro dress code and anti dress code persons are included. The opposing end includes Mary Louise Starks, who is in charge of the psychological services for the Detroit school system and says dress codes are not the solution to the violence, A dress code is a temporary measure that is limited in scope. Students are committing these crimes because they don t have a sense of power and self esteem. They steal from their peers to gain control over another person (qtd. in Miller 87). An example of a pro dress code student from the article is 17 year old Jonathon Johns, a senior at Dunbar High School in Baltimore, who says, Violence isn t as bad as it was. In addition, information may be affected by inaccurate assumptions or by known or unknown risks and uncertainties and may ultimately not produce the estimated results. 2.1 Start Up Mode The chosen start up mode for this subject is a new business because it allows the owner to determine the services and products to meet the chosen target market s needs. Luther set out to spread his idea of true Christianity. The main ideology of Lutheranism is that salvation can be gained by three fundamental precepts: by faith, by grace and by scripture alone. Luther felt that Salvation could not be achieved through good works such as prayer or holy living: Good works do not make a good man, but a good man does good works. (Luther, On Christian Liberty, p.9). Faith in God is created through the belief and love for Him; salvation would rise from it nonetheless. Luther felt that it was up to every individual to interpret the Scriptures and decide for himself what was good. This was a revolutionary concept, as previously it had been only the Pope who could interpret the Scriptures. Another concept of Lutheranism was that every believer could achieve priesthood. All men who had true faith had the opportunity to serve God and were equal in His eyes. Among Christians there shall and can be no authority; rather all are alike subject to one another. With more information being available online, Garza says his generation was practically forced to become digitally literate in order to keep up with the rest of the world. On the contrary, millennial and 18 year old friend, Clemens Koolen, grew up surrounded by technology, which made it fairly easy for him to become digitally literate. At the age of 5, Koolen was introduced to his first computer, which he remembers it to be a not so difficult thing, with the exception of learning how to use the keyboard. As the digital age evolved, Koolen kept up to date with technologies various complexities and improvements. With the rise of the Internet, he also learned how to navigate ... • 30. Urban Poverty in China Over the past two decades, China has experienced rapid economic growth, which has also brought about a rise in social and economic inequality. A nation that once operated under the principle of egalitarianism, China now struggles with a level of inequality that has surpassed most of its East Asia neighbours. In the 1980 s, poverty was a problem restricted mainly to rural areas, but recently it has forayed into urban areas as well. Since the mid 1990 s, urban poverty has grown at a very fast pace under the influence of globalization (Fulong, Webster, and Yuting 5). The economic restructuring of China is a huge contributor to this phenomenon. The Chinese government officially recognized urban poverty as a problem in 2001 through a report ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The earliest of these attempts was by expanding higher education, which succeeded in matriculation, but did not provide sufficient stimulus towards consumption as families opted to save for higher education. The attempt to commercialize the housing market also ended up in a similar scenario, as families opted to increase their savings in order to afford the higher prices charged for apartments (Riskin and Qin 25). The urban poverty problem arises from the disparity between lack of income growth and massive growth in social wealth (Fulong, Webster, and Yuting 37). In order to remedy this problem, the government should not develop policies targeting only the poor; instead, it should ensure that there exists a resource framework that is not only adequate for rich and middle class needs, but one that is accessible to everyone. A strategic readjustment that ensures commensurate growth in both social and economic wealth would be highly beneficial to the people (Wanlong and Wong 26). The growth of incomes for residents should be strengthened and should also be accompanied by reforms in state owned corporations. One of the ways to remedy the consumption problem is through a rise in income levels and implementation of reforms in monopolized state owned industries to bring about income redistribution. Income redistribution is a government role that can be attained through proper fiscal policies like tax reforms to ensure a balanced and fair ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Invention Of Nature By Andrea Wulf Alexander Von Humboldt was a Prussian naturalist whose work has helped shape and define our modern understanding of nature. He used enlightenment rationalism to navigate his way through life and his deep connection to his natural environment inspired a visionary movement in ushering out the monotheistic creationist worldview. Humboldt s books, diaries and letters reveal a visionary, a thinker far ahead of his time. He invented isotherms...discovered the magnetic equator...came up with the idea of vegetation and climate zones that snake across the globe...and revolutionized the way we see the natural world. (Invention of Nature, 5). Although his work was extensive, author of The Invention of Nature, Andrea Wulf suggests that his work has largely been forgotten due to his polymath approach of including art, history, poetry and politics that made him unfavorable. While Humboldt gave us our concept of nature itself, the irony is that Humboldt s views have become so self evident that we have largely forgotten the man behind them. However, although his work individual work may be overlooked, Humboldt s success in making science more accessible work and as a result, his legacy lives on as the source of inspiration for many influential thinkers throughout history. One of the most influential thinkers inspired by Humboldt, who helps us remember Humboldt s legacy is John Muir. Inspired by Von Humboldt s travels, Muir wanted to explore the world just like Von Humboldt. He possessed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Knee Injury Summary Summary of Article This article begins with explain how even though volleyball is a non contact sport, it holds a very high risk of injury. The most frequent way injuries occur are because of poor landing techniques. Women are more prone to these types of injuries because biologically they have weaker ligaments. The second most common injuries are injuries to the ankle. Researchers have said that the best way to reduce injuries is by practicing appropriate postural control. Postural control is also linked with balance. Balance one of the main components of knee injury. Volleyball, basketball, and other active athletes have not developed proper posture to land safely, causing many injuries to the knee and ankles. Point of Agreement I agree that there has to be some reason for non contact athletes, like volleyball players, are injuring themselves. It makes sense that the injury is caused by a poor development of proper posture. With anything in sports, it is important to develop proper form and technique to both execute the skill and be safe while playing. Many athletes, even professional, have a hard time with proper technique. They think they know everything about the game but forget the basics and end up injuring themselves. • 35. The Treaty Of Versailles Was A Prime Minister Of France The Treaty of Versailles was signed June 28th, 1919 after the Big Three had argued for months about the consequences and negotiations of the treaty. The Big Three were David Lloyd George, Georges Clemenceau, and Woodrow Wilson. Vittorio Orlando was the Prime Minister of France and had some say in the treaty because he was one of the victor. He eventually walked out of the meeting because he wasn t getting his way and gave up his position. Each had a different approach to the treaty and had their own ideas about the consequences of Germany. Lloyd George was the Prime Minister of Britain and more of a subtle approach to the treaty, but still believed Germany should pay for what they did. He knew the treaty couldn t be too harsh; otherwise, Germany would try to get there revenge, and he also water to keep Germany as a trading partner, so he didn t want Germany s economy too weak to trade and was afraid that communism to spread to Germany. Georges Clemenceau was the Prime Minister of France and was the harshest of the Big Three and wanted Germany to suffer. Germany destroyed France killed hundreds of thousands. He believed Germany should brought to its knees and never be strong enough to start war again. He wanted Germany to pay to rebuild France and all of the damage they caused during the war. • 37. The Communication Model Of Communication 1. What is the transmission model of communication? Where does it come from? What does it do well in helping us understand the process of communication in everyday life? What are its limitations? The transmission model of communication as defined by James Carey is a process whereby messages are transmitted or sent and distributed over distance and into space for the purpose of control. The transmission model includes a sender on one end and a receiver on the other. In the middle is the median that the message is being sent through. This comes from the nineteenth century from religious origins. For example, to try to understand this model, we can think about missionaries. The missionaries were sent from the Roman Catholic Church to other countries to spread the teaching of Jesus in order to gain control of the people. The transmission does well in helping us understand the efficiency, convenience, and influence/ control of communication in everyday life. The limitations if the transmission model is that the transmission model doesn t let us understand the importance of context that information takes on its meaning in particular times, in particular situations, with particular people. Another one of its limitations is that the medium is neutralized and the transmission model doesn t differentiate between different medium such as, newspapers, social media, and amber alert on a highway reader board. Lastly, the information is homogenized. For example, all the information ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
