Sadia Ahsan gave a presentation on electronics and loudspeakers. She defined a loudspeaker as an electro-acoustic transducer that produces sound in response to an electrical audio signal. Loudspeakers are divided into cone types and horn types. The basic design of a loudspeaker includes a voice coil suspended in a magnetic field that moves back and forth to reproduce sound when an electrical signal is applied. Dynamic loudspeakers and cabinet loudspeakers were described as common types, along with line source speakers, high fidelity speakers, woofers for low frequencies, tweeters for high frequencies, and horn loudspeakers.
