Snake bite should always be considered as a medical emergency. Snake venoms are categorised based on different types of toxic components present in it. Venomous snake bite can affect nervous system as well as normal hemostasis . The most important thing to do for a snake bite is to get emergency medical help as soon as possible. The goals of pharmacotherapy are to neutralize the toxin, to reduce morbidity, and to prevent complications. Blessy Rachal Boban | Cillamol K. Title-deterioration of vitiligo and de novo onset of Halo Naevi in two patie...VR Foundation
THIVI MARUTHAPPU
Introduction:
Anti-TNF drugs are widely prescribe by dermatologists as well as other specialists. With their use comes increasing awareness of potential adverse effects. Patient 1 had a 20 year history of stable vitiligo however 3 months after starting adalimumab for ankylosing spondylitis he developed rapid deterioration in his vitilgo which started to affect his face, hands and axillae in a symmetrical distribution. Adalimumab was stopped and he improved with potent topical steroids. Case 2 developed multiple halo naevi after commencing adalimumab. These were not dysplastic and he has remained on treatment.
The potential pathophysiological mechanism for developing immune mediated dermatoses with anti-tnf treatment are discussed.
Q1. Which of the following have not been described following use of anti-TNF drugs
1. Irreversible alopecia areata
2. Erythema elevatum diutunum
3. Systemic lupus erythematosus.
Q2. Which of the following is false
1.vitilgo can be cured with with anti-TNF
2. Vitiligo can improve with anti-TNF
3.vitiligo can deteriorate with anti-TNF

With improvement in the care available for HIV patients since the mid 1990s most HIV patients are living longer. Patients with HIV are now being afflicted with conditions associated with aging including atheroscerotic heart disease. This presentation reviews the current data on coronary artery disease in HIV patients and discusses the management and prevention of these conditions in this population.
Human Genome Project is a worldwide scientific achievement. It was a thirteen-year project initiated in 1990 and completed in 2003. Human Genome Project helped a lot in the identification of diseased genes as DNA is very significant for understanding the diseased gene and their functions. It helped in the identification of disease loci for many diseases and presented their treatment through preventive measures. It identified the gene loci for many diseases like cancer, asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes type 2, obesity, Alzheimer's disease, Down's syndrome, Turner's syndrome, depression and many types of heart diseases including cardiovascular disease and coronary artery disease. This project does not directly treat the diseases but it helps in the identification of disease gene loci and then allows the treatment of disease through its preventive measures before the appearance of symptoms or at the initial stages of the disease through many techniques like gene therapy, pharmacogenomics, and targeted drug therapy. These are the helpful techniques in the diagnoses of the human disease gene locus.

Isolated central nervous system tuberculosis is uncommon in immunocompetent patients. It resembles a pyogenic brain abscess
clinically and radiologically and poses a problem in diagnosis and treatment. Here we described a case of recurrent frontal lobe
abscess, which was diagnosed as a tubercular abscess. There was no clinical or radiological evidence of active tuberculosis
elsewhere in the body. The diagnosis of tubercular abscess was confirmed by Mycobacterium tuberculosis by Polymerase Chain
Reaction (TB-PCR) in the abscess material aspirated via a burr hole.
study of hematological paremeter in sepsis patients and its prognostic implic...RahulGupta1687
The current study was a cross-sectional study with a sample size of 117 patients with sepsis. Various hematological parameters of all the patients were obtained on day of admission (day 1) and seventh day (day 7) using hemogram reports and the difference of their statistical mean and standard deviation was estimated.

RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.

2. Is a medical, neurological and sometimes neurosurgical
emergency that requires a multi-disciplinary approach
Most common types are bacterial, viral and Tuberculous
Meningitis (TBM)
If the diagnosis and treatment of TBM is delayed it can result
in permanent neurological damage in 25% of patients

3. Is an enzyme which is involved in purine metabolism in which
it is responsible for conversation of adenosine and
deoxyadenosine to inosine and deoxyinosine respectively
resulting in release of ammonia
In TBM tubercle bacilli results in cell mediated immune
response which causes release of ADA by T cells
