2. Focal cortical dysplasia
Malformations of cortical development
MOGHE, a recently recognized, highly
epileptogenic, distinct histopathological
entity in drug-resistant epilepsy that
primarily involves the frontal lobes

malformation of cortical development with oligodendroglial hyperplasia and epilepsy
(MOGHE): a widespread disease with an apparently focal epilepsy. Epileptic Disorders.
2021 Apr;23(2):407-11.
3. Blurred gray-white matter boundaries due to
heterotopic neurons in white matter and
increased numbers of subcortical
oligodendroglial cells
Increase of Olig2-immunoreactive
oligodendroglia observed in white matter and
deep cortical layers as well as increased
proliferation
No evidence of dysmorphic neurons nor balloon
cells. There are also no signs for vertical nor a
horizontal dyslamination

7. Epileptic surgery
MOGHE could be associated with
unfavourable outcome in surgery of frontal
lobe in drug resistant epilepsy patients

oligodendroglial hyperplasia in frontal lobe epilepsy: a new clinico-pathological

8. Emerging histopathological entity of brain
lesions
Highly epileptogenic
Drug resistant epilepsy
Frontal lobe
Diagnosis: MRI, pathology
Could be associated with unfavorable
outcome in surgery
