The Road Not Taken Analysis Essay
Crafting an essay on the analysis of "The Road Not Taken" can be a challenging endeavor, as it
requires a profound understanding of the poem's intricate layers and an ability to delve into the
complexities of Robert Frost's work. The task involves more than just summarizing the verses; it
necessitates a keen literary insight to decipher the symbolism, explore the thematic elements, and
dissect the poet's intentions.
One must tread carefully, navigating through the diverging paths of interpretation while avoiding
the clichГ©d routes often taken by less discerning writers. Analyzing the nuances of Frost's
language and the subtle shades of meaning embedded in each stanza demands a meticulous
approach. Unraveling the metaphorical significance of the roads, the choices, and the
consequences requires a thoughtful examination that goes beyond the surface level.
Moreover, the challenge lies in constructing a coherent and compelling argument that not only
reflects a deep understanding of the poem but also engages the reader. Formulating a thesis that
encapsulates the essence of one's interpretation while providing a roadmap for the essay adds
another layer of complexity.
The essay should transcend the ordinary and venture into the realm of critical analysis, exploring
the socio-cultural context, Frost's personal experiences, and the broader implications of the
poem. This depth of exploration demands extensive research, thoughtful reflection, and the
ability to connect the dots in a way that resonates with readers.
In conclusion, navigating the literary landscape of "The Road Not Taken" for a comprehensive
analysis is akin to navigating the paths in Frost's verse itself. It requires intellectual dexterity, a
nuanced understanding of poetic devices, and a skillful articulation of one's interpretations. Yet,
for those willing to embrace the challenge, the journey can be as rewarding as the exploration of
the roads in Frost's timeless work.

Suicide Terrorism Research Paper
Suicide Terrorism has become the primary tool for terrorist in devastating cities and
instilling fear in communities. The terror attacks can either be focused towards
people, government or a certain infrastructure. There are several tactics of
performing these acts of suicide terrorism; strapping explosives to ones bodies and
/or steering some sort of transportation into a place of gathering. Understanding the
mind of suicide terrorist can be very difficult. Their motivation to be a suicide
bomber may never be truly understood. Understanding the thought processes of
terrorist can help one to better comprehend the behaviors of a suicide bomber. It is

Who Is Mcdonald s
Introduction
During this assignment, I intend to cover the marketing concept and its importance
to an organization as McDonalds. I will make particular reference of the marketing
environment, consumer markets, market segmentation and the importance of the role
of the marketing mix. In addition, I will focus on the concepts of marketing in terms
of supporting their brand standards.
McDonalds is known as the world s largest fast food chain and his presence is
global. McDonald s has over 25,000 restaurants in the world., The organization,
founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald, has now operating over 1200
restaurants, of which 620 are franchises, only in the UK. McDonalds UK has

According to Lansingbusinessnews.com (2015), brand standards are defined as a set
of guidelines made to help companies and their affiliates to communicate the look,
feel and representation of an organization. The purpose of using these guidelines is to
transmit the same message to the target audience, so in this way the organization s
message remains consistent.
McDonald s strategy is to ensure uniformity at a global level and for this reason, all
franchisees use standardized McDonald s branding, menus, design layouts and
administration system (Franchising at McDonald s, 2008). Also, they focus on using
the same manufacturing or handling methods in order to maintain the quality of the
menu items.
Brand standards are different for every organization and companies as McDonalds
concentrate on every detail, but certainly a key point in brand developing is the
logo. It is arguable that McDonalds has changed his logo many times but, surely, this
can be explained by its long history and the need of adaptability. Although the
McDonald s logo was inconsistently presented, this fact has not stopped McDonald s
to become the
The Evolution of the Telephone
Would American s lives be the same without having telephones, light, transportation,
or labor laws? That s what Americans would be missing in life without having the
Industrial Revolution occurring in history. The Industrial Revolution was a time of
changes from working at home to working in factories with machines and engines.
There were new inventions, upgrades in machinery, railroads, steamships, and oil
booms. The lives of Americans were changed during this time period from 17th
century. The Industrial Revolutionshaped the U.S. into what it was today. One
invention in particular was the telephone; its technological advances throughout the
years have continued to explore the imagination. Since its inception, the telephone has

From the time of its invention to 1880, there were 50000 subscribers of the

dramatically. The operators were eliminated because the users could now make their
own connection without calling the operators first. By the 1960 s U.S. Telephones
total 80,969,000; world s total reaches 159,200,000; telephone companies were
forming everywhere and by 1964, some 2,535 companies were in existence. The
more the telephones improve, the more the people wanted more from it. In the
twentieth century, the telephone is the main medium to reach just about anyone. It is
also the favored medium of communication in the business world. Nowadays, the
telephone system can be configured to suit a business needs. At my job for example,
the telephone has multiple functions. One is the paging system to reach someone; it
can be used to make conference calls to multiple companies at the same time. With
the invention of cellular phones, one can be reached anywhere in the world and be
connected to the internet; as long as you have a signal of course.
Over the centuries, people have been striving towards a fast, reliable means of
communication. At first, those gaps were bridged with language, usable in face to
face encounters and then written language, which could be transported over vast
distances, though the timeliness of the message left something to be desired. Some

Justification, The Moral Sense Of Right And Wrong
Justification, is answering the question How sure do we need to be that our beliefs
correspond to the actual world? Stating, when we are justifying something, we are
asking ourselves how credible a statement really is. There are generally a few criteria
that we can turn to when determining credibility of a statement. In mathematics,
mathematical expressions are easily justifiable because their solutions are often
concrete. One example of mathematical expressions are that corresponding angles are
always congruent to each other. On the contrary, ethicsis the moral sense of right and
wrong that a person has. This can be applied to personal and professional decision
making of the individuals themselves. However, ethics may be often thought of as
impossible to prove because of its reliance on individual moral, hence conclusions in
ethics can be reached in several different ways, unlike mathematics where there is
only one solid answer and it mostly consists of logic consistency. In ethics, the
conclusion is determined on the individual and how they see the situation from their
point of view and conclude from there. Hence this causes disputes and is
controversial because not everyone has the same way of thinking. Thus mathematics
is a better way of having different method of justification because there are not
multitude conclusions since mathematics is based on logic and the conclusion is
always universal so everyone agrees unlike with ethics, that the conclusions can be
The Four Main Types Of Blood Cancers
There are four main types of blood cancers: acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic
myeloid leukemia (CML), acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), and chronic
lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). AML and ALL can become fatal within in a few
weeks or month if not properly treated. CML and CLL has a slower progression rate
than there chronic counterparts. Patients with AML or ALL tend to have noticeable
symptoms whereas patients with CML or CLL tend to be asymptomatic (Hallek,
2015). Even though chronic leukemiaprogresses slowly, acute leukemia is easier to
treat. In AML patients myeloid blast are arrested in development and are unable to
fight infections properly because they are unable to mature (Döhner et al, 2015).
Myeloid blast in CML can mature... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If chemotherapy is unsuccessful for the patient, then Trisenox (Arsenic Trioxide) is a
drug that can treat APL. Trisenox induces oxidative stress and causes an
overproduction of ROS in the myeloid blasts (Lo Coco, 2016).
The uncle most likely has chronic lymphocytic leukemia instead of acute lymphocytic
leukemia. The aunt condition however is acute. Chronic has a slower progression
than acute which means the person does not have to immediately be treated with
chemotherapy.
Hyperplasia is an increase in the reproduction of cells. Hyperplasia can occur due to
hormonal or compensatory reasons. For instance, hormonal hyperplasia can initiate
cell proliferation in breast tissue during puberty. An example of compensatory
hyperplasia is when a patient has a partial hepatectomy and the organ is able to
regenerate to its original size due to an increase of cell proliferation. Metaplasia is an
adaptive change in response to an irritant that incite the replacement of one cell type
to another. This is commonly seen in the lung tissues of a smoker. The ciliated
columnar epithelium in the lungs will be replaced by stratified squamous due to the
toxins in the smoke. The cells undergoes this transformation to better protect the
tissue underlying tissues. The stratified squamous epithelium are unable to perform
the same function as the ciliated columnar epithelium. Hyperplasia is an increase in
cell proliferation whereas metaplasia is a replacement of one

Remember to always think of the future. Once it s all implemented and built, you can
administer your network.
When administrating a network, you have to ensure critical services have as close
to 100% uptime, because if they are down, your users are going to hassle you all the
time and that can be quite annoying with some users. When maintaining a network,
you also have a number of other tasks to perform every day. These include:
User management
Adding, removing and apply security to user accounts and groups
Hardware
Upgrading hardware
Replacing faulting hardware
Software
Providing support for applications and operating systems
Ensuring critical data is being backed up
Monitoring
Monitor the system
Checking logs
Conducting security audits
Support
Attending to users help requests
Writing documentation
One of the hardest challenges in administrating a network is application support.
You can very rarely just add a major application or a network service without any
issues. Your network will need to support it. For example, you cannot host a website
if you only have dialup internet. Other factors that are needed to be taken into
consideration are:
Does it need to be secured? Both physically and virtually; internally and externally
Can the application be supported Are their people who know how to use the
application?
What risks will it introduce? Viruses, Hackers, privacy?
Is there enough network capacity to
Animal Disbandment Discourse
Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus has recently declared the end of
their career and disbanded the circus. Since the disbandment an ongoing discussion
concerning the circus and its ethics has been widely discussed by many different
groups; but disagreement can be most strongly seen between the discourse of animal
welfare groups, and the circusperformers themselves. The topics being addressed is
how these different populations perceives the events surrounding the circus s
disbandment and what is actually more beneficial for the circus animals and the
performers in the long run after the greatest show on Earth is over. The
discontinuities often seen among these two groups when the circus is discussed are:

In the last ten months alone, a prominent animal welfare group called PETA (People
for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has released over seventeen videos on
Facebook speaking out against circuses. The most popular of these activist s videos
has been viewed by over 5.5 million people. Animal welfare groups seem mostly
concerned with the natural inclination of wildlife. When describing the circus, almost
every animal activist group has at some point brought up just how unnatural the
behaviors required for performance animals to display appears, when they are
entertaining an audience in a show. Niedrich from Michigan State University s Law
department has cited in her article the behaviors of tigers who are naturally fearful of
fire jumping through burning hoops, and elephants, the largest land mammal in the
world, balancing on tiny pedestals, as examples of unnatural behaviors. This implies
that activists like Niedrich define unnatural as; behaviors displayed by animals that
goes against wild instincts, or behaviors observed in free roaming animals that lack
human involvement. Niedrich specifically stated
The Relationship Between Risk And Expected Returns
The Relationship Between Risk and Expected Returns
According to investment glossaries, a risk is a future probability of loss inherent in
any investment (Investopedia Financial Dictionary, 2016). To this day, the positive
correlation between risk and return continues to be the cornerstone of financial
theory. The basic capital asset pricing model (CAPM) formula is built on this
relationship. CAPM provides the required return based on the level of systematic risk
of an investment. The risk associated with an investment is taken to lie along a
scale. On the low risk end of the scale, there are low yielding government bonds and
securities. At the middle of the spectrum are medium performing investments such as
high yielding loan notes, and rental property. At the far end of the scale high risk are
futures, options, and equity investments. However, the positive relationship between
risk and return does not guarantee that taking a greater risk will result in higher
returns. Rather, a higher risk may lead to the loss of a greater amount of capital. This
paper seeks to examine the risk and return relationship and how investors can
determine the optimal trade off.
The risk return principle. It is a principle that the potential returns on investment rise
with the increase in risk. According to this principle, low levels of uncertainty like
in the case of government bonds have low potential returns. For instance, a US five
year Treasury bond yields a return of 1.125

What Is The Purpose Of Suffering In Christianity And...
Suffering is a hardship that all humans experience in life and an experience people
often ponder on why such a thing exists. This is an ultimate question that has been
answered by many of the world religions. We will be comparing the concepts of
suffering in both Christianity and Buddhism to see how these views differ to one
another.
What is the purpose of suffering, what role does it play in our lives? In Christianity,
the Bible displays many reasons why we may suffer in our lifetimes. In
Christianity, we suffer in order to help us grow as people, to easily empathise with
one another and to bring us closer to God. The purpose of suffering is to ensure
that we are constantly growing into better people removing the weakness and
immaturity and sins from us. Suffering is used to encourage us to become better
people and to move away from sin. This concept of pruning is shown in 2

It helps people to stop being attached and desiring objects or people as that is one of
the sources of suffering in the four noble truths. The purpose of suffering in Buddhism
is to ensure people understand they must keep improving and refining something
(money, health etc.) as it is not permanent and must detach and live a life away from
desire and attachment. This teaching in Buddhism is encouraging people to keep
working at things and to become better people while removing some aspects of

It is a widely shared view by men and women through traditions, beliefs and social

Another barrier is the false association between participation in sport with socially
unacceptable behaviours. From the worlds view main barriers for female s
participation in sports, it becomes a clear view that participation in sports requires
challenging gender norms that prevents the hegemony through the Five Figueroa s

equally relevant, barriers include poverty and scarcity of economic means this would

Culture Of Japan Culture
Modern day Japan s culture is mainly like the the U.S. in many ways for example
some of there music is called J Pop which is like our modern day Music the also
goes by Pop some J Pop singers will include Ayumi Hamasaki and many others. In

though Japan tries to modernize themselves ads best as the could the still use their

great grandparents used before their time time of existence but it is mainly used
for decoration. Japan culture is like many other Asian culture such as using
chopsticks and their religious beliefs nut is is also different in many ways. For
example Japan just like China are very religious which is caused by Japan
absorbing the word of there god through Korea and China. That lead to going a
long time isolated from the outside world. There main two religions were Shinto
and Buddhism. Both religions were brought to Japan by other countries but
Buddhism is practiced more because it was brought to Japan first and it is still
practiced to this day. The Japanese culture to this day still believes in giving their
kids the best lunch as possible for example schools will serve a doe based bread

disorder, the mortality rates reported on those who suffer from eating disorders can

large variance in the reported number of deaths caused by eating disorders is because
those who suffer from an eating disorder may ultimately die of heart failure, organ

Evaluating The Sources Of Data Variable Is A Controlled
Or...
A hypothesis is a point of research for evaluating the sources of data in either a
controlled or uncontrolled experiment using variables. An hypothesis is the
prediction that requires the process of being proved of being false or true (Bowles,
2013). A hypothesis must be clear and simple to understand that states the purpose
of a test. It must contain logical and be testable. The hypothesis defines what data
variable are considered for testing. The development of a hypothesis begins with
identifying the object with an abstract concept of the research and relationship to a
statement being evaluated (Bowles, 2013). There are four stages to testing a
hypothesis in statics. The four stages are state the hypothesis, set criteria for a
decision, collect the data, and evaluated the data. A hypothesis statement contains
two parts a null hypothesis and and alternative hypothesis. The null hypothesis is
represented as Ho or Hn that is believed to be true or a basis for an argument (Tayor,
2016). It always has a equal sign (Tanner Youssef Morgan, 2013). The alternative
hypothesis is represented as Hi or Ha that is established as an opposite of the Ho. Ha
can only be reached by the rejection of the Ho. Ha is the desired outcome. A example
of a stated hypothesis is as followed: Ho: p = p, and Ha: p =/= p (Zhong Zhong,
2013). The criteria for accepting and rejecting the hypothesis depends on a specific
calculated value set by the research. The criteria value has to

ABSTRACT
Peer to peer (P2P) file sharing systems are becoming increasingly popular due to
their flexibility and scalability. A peer to peer, or P2P, file transfer service allows the
user to share computer files through the Internet. Examples of P2P services include
KaZaA, Grokster, Gnutella, Morpheus, and BearShare. This document is about the
peer to peer file sharing technology. It discusses about what peer to peer technology
and file sharing is. It also states the pros and cons of the peer to peer file sharing
and how Network coding is useful to overcome the disadvantages of the traditional
p2p file sharing technology, also discusses some network coding based p2p file

Skin Ageing
Everyone has to age. There are going to be fine lines and wrinkles appearing as the
day s tick by. You can guarantee that at some point you will see your skin start to
loosen and sag more than you want it to. There is no way of getting around the fact
that as human beings we naturally age with time. Is that not what you wanted to

looks.
You may be forced to accent some signs of ageing as you get older, but there is no
reason to ever look your true age! Following are three things that everyone should be
doing to limit the signs of ageing on the skin. The younger you start these things the
better your skin will age, so tell everyone you know to start protecting their skin

sunlight damage. This is a very gentle, minimally invasive procedure that doesn t
require any recovery time at all. If you have heard of lunchtime cosmetic surgery, this
is one of the safest procedures that could fit into that category.
You are going to age some over the years, but you should never have to look your

Essay on With the setting of the sun
With the setting of the sun
In F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel, The Great Gatsby, there is a constant feeling of
movement and the desire to get away. Nick, Gatsby, Wilson,
Tom and Daisy all move, or have the intention of moving. Not only does this
movement seem to foreshadow events in the book, but it also seems to lead to the
conclusion that society as a whole in the 1920 s was rather unstable and was
undergoing constant change. Not all the characters move in the same way, and this
shows how different their backgrounds and lifestyles are. The main movement seems
to be from west to east. Throughout the decades man is said to be progressing through
the steps of evolution and toward the setting sun, or east to west. The characters ...

Nick says, [h]e talked a lot about the past and
I gathered that he wanted to recover something, some idea of himself perhaps, that
had gone into loving Daisy. (117) This shows how time could never change his
dream, and that Gatsby feels that if he talks about the past then he will be able to
change the future for the better. The sun also stands for power and greatness, which
made Jay Gatsby shine right through Jimmie Gatz. He starts of engulfed in
darkness, as his dream does not exist. From there he seems to be obsessed with this
reverie, and effectively kills off Jimmie Gatz and creates Jay Gatsby.
This new personality is formed when the sun rises, bathing him in light. Jay Gatsby
sprang from his Platonic conception of himself (104), and even with this change he
still believed that the rock of the world was founded securely on a fairy s wing.
(105) This new light blinds the people that look at him, and covers up his old self.
Although it covers him, some people like Mr. Sloane see him as
Jimmie Gatz, and are disgusted by it. The first time Tom meets Gatsby is when he,
Mr. Sloane and a young woman stop by his house while out riding. Gatsby tells Tom
that he knows Daisy, to which Tom states later, I may be old fashioned in my ideas
but women run around too much these days to suit me. They meet all kinds of crazy
fish. (110)

Human Science and History
The historian s task is to understand the past; the human scientist, by contrast, is
looking to change the future. To what extent is this true in these areas of
knowledge? As historians study, compiles and writes events in chronological order
or arranged events in the order it came to be, people understood what came before
them. Historians are the authority on it that no one ever tried to question what was
written but instead we accepted it as facts and from those facts we learned and knew
that as time and years go by people could and can change the future. As clear as the
question implies history and human sciences are the two areas of knowledge
involved. Human sciencewas defined as the study and interpretation of the
experiences,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was not something to carry around. Now we have all the I s from the apple store

gadgets are so important to us and to our daily lives that we cannot just imagine
living without one of them. Those gadgets are also convenient. Through language,
historians made us realized that history would always be history. It would always
be there. It is something of the past for the future. We believed in what was written
thousand years ago, affecting each and everyone of us on how we go on with our
lives. Though on the other hand, why could we not rewrite what was written for
easier to understanding? Are we 100% sure that it is true? Without the inventions
and innovations of human scientists we would not have what we have now. Our
lives would be very different. It would have been at a slower pace. We would not
know what lies in the other side of the globe. It was so clever of the human scientists
to invent something that could lead to a change in our future. For instance, the
invention of airplane. Isn t it great that we could be in one continent to the next in

INTRODUCTION An inherent problem that entrepreneurs face at the very beginning
of their entrepreneurial initiative is to attract outside capital, given the lack of
collateral and sufficient cash flows and the presence of significant information
asymmetry with investors (Cosh et al., 2009). While different investors exist for

Was Captain Smith Responsible For The Titanic
Do you know who is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic? Well if you don t it
s a very important thing to learn because, this is part of our history. I believe
Captain Smith is responsible for this sinking in 1912 because, he was entirely
responsible for the control of the ships wheel. Although you may think Thomas
Andrews the designer of the Titanic Is responsible for the sinking, I believe Captain
Smith is responsible. I believe this because he ignored the seven iceberg warnings.
On a result of ignoring these seven warnings while the ocean was very calm, no one
spotted the iceberg, they hit but Smith didn t take caution. So it s Captain Smith s
fault! Captain Smith is responsible because, he never slowed the Titanic down. If

Death in Cross Cultural Perspectives
Death in cross cultural perspectives
Death is inevitable part of human experience, which is often associated with fear of
unknown, separation, and spiritual connection. Death is an individual experience,
which is based on unique perceptions and beliefs. Fear of death and dying seems to
be a universal phenomenon, which is closely associated with apprehension and
uneasiness. Death is allied with permanent loss, thus personal experiences of grief are
similar in many different cultures. There are different mourning ceremonies,
traditions, and behaviors to express grief, but the concept of permanent loss remains
unchanged in cross cultural setting. With this paper I will identify cross cultural
perspectives on death and dying, and will analyze ... Show more content on

Spiritual connection with the dead is also one of the important elements of Latino
culture, which is demonstrated by frequent gravesite visits and praying to spirits.
Death is always associated with separation, which leads to sorrow, and grief;
however cultural perceptions and beliefs help to look at death from a different
perspective and perceive death as a natural state that can be approached with love,
respect, dignity, and tremendous family support. Latino culture supports their dying
people during the last journey, and believes in afterlife, which gives them hope and
helps to overcome unbearable grief of permanent loss.
Death rituals in Africa African culture demonstrates a strong connection with
deceased person, and believes that only a correct burial will bring a dead person
peace. People in Africa strongly believe in spiritual life, thus their main goal during
burial ceremonies is to address a spirit of a deceased person. An African funeral
begins with removal of the body from home, which is done through a previously
made hole in the wall of the home. Africans remove a dead body through the hole,
instead of a door, to confuse a spirit and make sure that a spirit of a deceased person
will not return back home, as a hole in the wall is immediately closed after removal
of the body. In effort to confuse a spirit even more, they place thorns and sticks in a
zigzag pattern along the way as body being taken to the place of burial.

Comparing The Epic Of Beowulf
Mindless creatures who blindly walk with cricks in their necks from staring down at
their new cutting edge electronics is what describes the current generation. The
twenty first century is focused around technological advances and social status based
on the accumulation of items, which influences the society. On the contrary, the fifth
and sixth centuries was a simpler time filled with valiant warriors defending their
community and their king. The society reflects these values and Beowulfsymbolizes
this era and its aspects very accurately. The epic of Beowulf is structured around
oral writing, the concept of comitatus, Pagan Christian tension, and warriors. At the
time, there was no form of writing meaning all the stories were orally composed,
which leads to certain mechanisms and strategies being used. Beowulf was
originally composed in Old English and in rhythmic meter to make it easier to be
remembered and recited. One of these strategies was using long dialogues or
speeches that a single character says. This was used because it makes it easier for the
orators to speak in speech form. Also, repetition was used throughout, so that certain
points were emphasized and aren t forgotten or overlooked. For example, Beowulf
told his people the whole story about defeating Grendel and his mom, even though the
fights were just told. In an oral culture without written documents, the author inputted
family lineage when mentioning a name of a person, like Unerf, son of Ecglaf.. Oral

Section Two: Vetting Alternative Solutions The above ideas on how to address the
opportunities in the Starbucks case are prioritized from highest to lowest ideas. The
criteria used was looking at solving the key gaps, providing for long term
sustainability, positively impacting the company s profitability, and cost of solution.
The top three will be explored in further detail below.
Executive leadership succession management program
Tracking and creating ways to decrease employee turnover
Training on producing quality beverages and customer service
Hiring and selection using person job, person organization match, and realistic and

Hiring a new regional employee for innovation
Training of youth and undereducated racial and ethnic minorities, women and older

Onboarding program for new hires
Succession planning for key positions (not executive leadership) Executive leadership
succession management program. From this case analysis, the key to the
opportunities at Starbuck resulted in not having a succession management program
and the cause of loss to their competitive advantage. This resulted in poor hiring and
training of their partners, decreasing the quality of the beverages prepared,
innovation, and customer service. This solution ranks number one due to its potential
to solve all of the gaps identified and put Starbucks back on its successful path of
sustained competitive advantage. This is also a solution to plan and
1910-1970 Great Migration
During 1910 1970 the great migration was taking place, which was the movement of
southern African American s to the north/northern cities. The great migration was an
event that seemed as if it was unstoppable and that it was going to happen. In the
South African American s faced racial discrimination, sharecropping, bad working
conditions, low wages, racial segregation and political detriments. Everything in the
north was better than the south. The north offered blacks, less discrimination, job
opportunities, higher wages and a better standard of living overall. The great
migration led to the improvement of the conditions for African Americans in America.
Life in the south for African Americans was nothing but a new form of slavery.
Most African American s were sharecroppers making little to no money to live
while being oppressed by white southerners. Daily life in the south for African
American s was full of insults, rude looks, persecution and discrimination as well
as the constant risk of being killed. African American s in the south hated living
there but, felt as if they had no other choice at the time it was the first and only
available option for southern slaves after the civil war. African American s wanted a

Preserving the Eldorado
Each year in the United States, thousands of wildland firefighters risk their lives
working day and night attempting to get ahead of the fire. Whether they are trying
to save a single home, a community, or simply trying to save the forest, they
dedicate themselves; spending weeks at a time away from their loved ones, eating
MRE s, and getting few hours of rest as they sleep on the forest floor, sometimes
only feet away from the fire line. The effects of wildfire can be devastating, as the
residents of El Dorado county witnessed when the King Fire blazed in 2014,
destroying a total of twelve homes and close to 70 other structures and burning close

One potential solution is to change the current rules and regulations that the
Eldorado National Forest has set in regards to wood cutting. According to the
woodcutting guidelines for the Eldorado National Forest on the USDA website,
the current limit of wood cut per year is two cords that you may not sell, specific
to dead trees only that are located at least 200 feet away from any campsite or main
roads. If the Forest Service were to have well trained employees mark living trees
that were too close together and would be appropriate to be removed, effectively
thinning out the denser areas of the forest, people that have purchased woodcutting
permits could cut down the marked trees. The most predominant downsides to
cutting down a living tree is that it is significantly heavier that a dead tree would
be and that it would need to dry out for about a year to actually be able to be
burned in a fireplace or woodstove. A potential incentive would be to allow an
unlimited amount of cords to be acquired throughout the year and to allow for the
personal sale of the wood that is cut. If the Eldorado were to adopt these guidelines,
as each forest is allowed to set and regulate their own woodcutting standards, this
would be effective in suppressing future fires by thinning out the forest, at no
additional cost to the forest service, aside from the wages paid to the employees
marking the trees. The long term benefits of
Bill Of Rights Definition
The Bill of Rights was written by James Madison and was ratified in December 15,
1791. The Bill of Rights was created because the colonies didn t want a constitution
without a Bill of Rights because they were afraid that the government would
become too powerful and they would not have rights. In June 8, 1789, James
Madison proposed the Bill of Rights to the House of Representatives and they
approved 17 amendments, and in September 25, 1789 congressed approved
ratification for 12 amendments. After congress ratified the amendments they sent it
to the colonies so they could ratify the bill as well. Finally on December 15, 1791
the colonies ratified only 10 of the 12 amendments and the bill became part of the
U.S. Constitution. Creation of The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the Ninth Amendment and it is very short, it just let us know that there are
other rights that may exist besides the ones mentioned, and even though they are not
listed, it does not mean they can be violated. The Ninth Amendment is now mainly
used to stop the government from expanding their power. The last amendment in the
Bill of Rights is the Tenth Amendment. This amendment states, The powers not
delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states,
are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people, (The Bill of Rights Institute,
2016). This amendment basically says that any power that is not given to the
federal government is given to the people or the states. The Bill of Rights Today
The Bill of Rights has made a huge impact in American s lives. Thanks to the Bill of

it has saved an abundant number of people when they re in trouble. Without the Bill

Island Fox Research Paper
Introduction
The island foxes (Urocyon littoralis) are a unique species of small carnivores that
only live on the Channel Islands located off the coast of Southern California. The
island fox is about 12 inches high, weights 2.5 to 6 pounds, and has a grizzled gray
hair color along the top of the head and back. Along the abdomen, neck and legs it
has a more cinnamon coloring, and white along the cheeks and throat to the chest
(Friends of the Island Fox, 2012). According to Levy (2010) Island foxes are a

approximately 6,000 adults but current population size is less than half that, and
island foxes have declined by over 90% on four of six islands (p. 442). By 1995
ecological monitoring on San Miguel and Santa Cruz Islands in the national park had

concluded that island foxes were rapidly declining toward extinction on the northern
Channel Islands. National Park began emergency recovery actions in 1999, with the
objectives being to remove the primary mortality factor now affecting island foxes,
and to recover island fox populations to viable levels through captive breeding. On
the Channel Islands, the golden eagle predation had been confirmed as the primary

Life In Colonial Days

you have you are not alone, many people have studied primary and secondary

the colonial days was not what it is said to be. Many people think that farming was
easy and quick but this was certainly not the case. Living on a farm, colonists always
had a job to do. They had jobs all the way from clearing land to caring for babies.
Some colonial families would enjoy leisurely activities such as egg rolling but when
it was time to work everybody pitched in. Work was not always safe either, when
cooking they had to be careful over open fire. With all this said life was not easy or
The Themes Of Diego Rivera
Diego Rivera held themes of: social inequality; industry; technology; history; and
the relationship of nature of Mexico. It started when Diego Rivera, a Mexican
painter and muralist, became interested in painting at such a young age. His parents
designated a room for him to pain murals on the walls. Growing up he attended art
classes after school in Mexicoand continued art classes in Europe. He studied in the
Academy of San Carlos and in Jose Guadalupe Posada s workshop. He dedicated
himself to studying traditional European artistic styles and combined with the
influence of Mexican folk artist Posada, his distinct Mexican style of art blossomed.
Diego Riveraalso became interested in the paintings of artists from the Renaissance
era. Rivera was later offered his first exhibition at San Carlos Academy and was very
successful that he was able to afford to return to Europe.
After traveling he returned to Mexico when his interested in the mural movement that

Firstly, people are an essential ingredient in service provision. Recruiting and
training the right staff is required to create a competitive advantage. Customers
make judgments about service provision and delivery based on the people
representing your organisation. Example, the praise received by the volunteers
(games makers) for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics demonstrates the
powerful effect people can create during service delivery. Staff require appropriate
interpersonal skills, aptititude, and service knowledge in order to deliver a quality
service (Service marketing mix n.d.).
Secondly, process is used to deliver the service. Imagine a customer walks into
Burger King and get it delivered within 2 minutes. What was the process that
allowed them to obtain an efficient service delivery? All services need to be
underpinned by clearly defined and efficient processes. This will avoid confusion
and promote a consistent service. In other words processes mean that everybody
knows what to do and how to do it (Service marketing mix n.d.).
Thirdly, physical evidence is about where the service is being delivered from. It is
particularly relevant to retailers operating out of shops. Physical evidence can be
used to charge a premium price for a service and establish a positive experience. For
example all hotels provide a bed to sleep on but one of the things affecting the price

Farewell To Arms Masculinity
The traditional idea of male masculinity is upheld by enforcing a certain standard
upon men at an early age. A Farewell To Arms, by Ernest Hemingway, is a novel
about the tragedies of war, with an overly romanticized love story twisted in the
plot. With our two main characters severely impacted by World War 1, they find a

There is a high importance in implementing commonly successful training procedures
such as audiovisual methods, E learning portal, and on the job experience.
Remember, the main purpose of employee training is to develop the employee s skill
which will eventually make the organization more profitable (Ameeq ul Ameeq,
Hanif, 2013).
Audiovisual Methods The use of audiovisual equipment like instructional DVDs,
CDs, or digital media is beneficial in initially showing an incoming employee how
the company s business works. DVDs, CDs, or digital media can assist employees
in need of training without the associated cost of a second instructing employee.
This can be of use when the training is monotonous and not required to have a high
level explanation. When possible, it can be helpful for the new employee to see his
or her own mistakes by recording. The recording of the employee s mistake and
later explanation of error and resolution in real time covering an action that is
observable by both parties (Snell Bohlander, p. 310, 2012).
E learning portal The electronic learning portal is taking place of many of the
employee training programs. This is because E learning portal can be used to
deliver the study material directly to the employee instead of the employee needing
to have a supervisor deliver it directly. This program has shown to save companies
anywhere between 30 and 70 percent over traditional methods (Fister, 2008). Utilizing

informal settlements, compared to an astounding 41% of the urban population in
developing regions. Furthermore the report projected that within the next 30 years
the number of people living in informal settlements would reach nearly 2 billion if
no affirmative action is taken. With these figures being on the increase Millennium
Development Goal 7 target 11 sets out to ameliorate the lives of at least 100 million
people living in slums by 2025 (UN, 2000). Consequently this has placed emphasis
on the need to focus on the issues associated with urbanisation and the forming of
informal settlements as part of the global development agenda. The Organisation for
Economic Co operation and Development (OECD) ( 2001) defines informal
settlements as: 1. areas where groups of housing units have been constructed on land
that the occupants have no legal claim to, or occupy illegally; 2. unplanned
settlements and areas where housing is not in compliance with current planning and
building regulations (unauthorized housing). It is known that the main reasons for
migration from rural to urban areas is primarily for economic reasons and access to
better services.
Cane River National Heritage Area
In this article, the author discusses the beginning of the Cane River National Heritage
Area. The article talks about how the different people came together. As time passed,
things changed. That area eventually turned into a place of tourism. The Cane River
National Heritage Area began in the Red River Valley, northwestern Louisiana. Many
cultures were coming together here to create their on way of life. They had the
farming lands, river, and each other to depend on. There were Creole plantations and
many American Indian settlements in this region. The river allowed them to trade
with the Natchitoches band of Caddo Indians. Countries began coming together
which led to the American Indians and European settlers working together. The

A Long Distance Relationship Is A Thought That Makes
Most...
A long distance relationship is a thought that makes most couples cringe. The
thought of being miles upon miles away is something that can make people
question the strength of their relationship. However, this trend of long distance is
something that is becoming more and more common with the advancement of
technology such as video chatting sources like Facetime or Skype. This trend is
something I ve personally noticed many college students, especially freshmen,
experiencing. They have their high school sweetheart that is suddenly moving
miles away to another college. They do not know how to handle it but, of course,
they try and make it work. I am much like all these people except I never had the
experience of living close to my significant other. We ve always been miles apart,
seven hundred and seventy eight to be exact. And even though it has its hard times, it
always seems worth it when we re together. I am by no means an expert, but I am
hoping that through my experiences, I can inspire someone to try and make it work.
What I ve figured out is how important communication is. It is so important to
communicate everything. If something he or she does makes you uncomfortable, let
him know. If he says the sweetest thing in the world to you and it makes your heart
melt, let him know. By keeping things bottled up in your head, its just going to make
you frustrated, upset, and most likely, hurt. Long distance relationships are so
complicated. There is no set formula to them.
The Importance Of The AP Literature Exam
What is the AP literature exam, and why should I care? Many high school students
ask themselves this question as they are drawing near to the date of their exam. The
fact that this question is asked constantly is exactly the reason that Mr. McGee has
assigned this essay to the AP Literature class. The AP Lit test
consists of two parts, and
the first is the multiple choicesection. The second part, has three free response essay
questions that must be answered in two hours.Of course, if a student wishes to do
well on a test they should have an understanding of how it is scored, and this AP
test is no different. Using the text Five Steps to a Five, and Crash Course, a student
can develop an idea of what the AP Literature Exam will look like. The first part of
the AP Lit Exam is a section comprised of fifty five multiple choice questions that
thoroughly test a student s knowledge about prose and poetry. Within these questions
You can expect to see 4 5 excerpts of prose and poetry, (Howell). These excerpts are
without titles, authors or a date, the student is completely reliant upon their
knowledge to answer. Although the date of the texts are not given, one can expect it
to be between the 16th century and the 21st century, not that that helps at all. Most of
these works will be in English, but occasionally they will be written in a translated
form. According to experts, there are eight types of multiple choice questions that
may appear on the test: reading comprehension
Commercial Freezer Research Paper
If your commercial freezer isn t freezing and you need to get it working right away,
here are five things you can check on while waiting for your technician to arrive.
Having a commercial freezer down can cost your business a lot of money, which is
why you should try to troubleshoot what is wrong even before the technician
arrives. #1 Defrost Timer If you turned your thermostat down to a colder
temperature, and you noticed that your freezer failed to get any colder, the defrost
timer might be to blame. You can manually check the accuracy of your defrost timer.
To do this, you need to take a screwdriver and insert it into the advancement pinion.
Then, turn the screwdriver clockwise. You don t need to make a full turn; a quart or
half turn... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To see if the cold control has shorted out, take the two wires that are located at the
cold control, and jump them together. If that gets your compressor going, then
your compressor is working just find. You just need to have your technician
replace the cold control on your commercial freezer. #3 Compressor In order for
your freezer to stay cold, the compressor has to work properly. Your compressor
should make the same, steady sound as it works. It should almost just feel like
background noise. If your compressor is instead making humming or clicking
noises, a part inside of it needs to be replaced. If you can t hear your compressor
running at all, then there is defiantly a problem with it. Let your technician know
how your compressor sounds when you call them; this will help them know what
to do when they get to your business. #4 Evaporator Coils The evaporator coils are
located in the rear of your freezer. Check them and see if they are frozen over. If they
are frozen over, the air in your freezer will not be able to pass over them and your
freezer will not be able to stay cold. If they are frozen, you may need to remove the
food from your freezer and manually defrost it. Your technician may be able to
defrost them more quickly for

The two companies plan to form a joint venture to develop small cars for the global
market. It initially began manufacturing cars and light trucks through a joint
venture with Ford. However, by the early 1970s Hyundai was ready to build cars
under its own name by debuting its subcompact Pony in 1974. The Pony was a
great success domestically and soon propelled Hyundai to the top spot among
Korea s carmakers. During the mid 1970s, the company began exporting the Pony
to El Salvador and Guatemala. Several years later, Hyundai started to mass produce
and anticipated penetrating strategies into markets around the world including
Canada. Hyundai then introduced the Hyundai Excel in 1985. That very year the
company established a subsidiary in the United States, the Hyundai Motor
America. Hyundai exported Excels to the US and sales soared the next year.
Building on this success, it built a factory in Quebec, Canada. The company
introduced its first sports car, the Scoupe, in 1990. The following year it developed
the first Hyundai designed engine, called the Alpha. Two years later Hyundai
unveiled its second generation proprietary engine, the Beta. By 1998 Hyundai was
beginning to feel the pinch of the Asian economic crisis as domestic demand dropped
drastically. However, the decrease in Korean demand was largely offset by exports.
Hyundai not only established a joint venture with DaimlerChrysler but went on to
establish a collaboration with
Collaborative Learning Community
Module 8: Assignments Collaborative Learning Community: Pricing Decisions 1)
Within your CLC, choose a publicly traded company and identify one of its
products that the group will analyze. Describe the strategic implications that would
need to be considered in setting a price for that product, and determine whether the
group would use a market based pricing approach or a cost based pricing approach
to setting the product price. Explain the rationale behind choosing the pricing
approach. Identify the costs that the group thinks would be considered in setting the
product price, and come up with a sample cost structure for the product (make it as
realistic as possible). Calculate a price for the product, and defend your product price
and related cost structure.
We decided on Apple and the iPhone 5 is the product.
There is no exact theorem for determining how to price a product but the following
can act as a heuristic of sorts:
Consider marketing strategy perform marketing analysis, segmentation, targeting, and
positioning. (i.e. analysing the target market for whom the product is intended and
assess whether or not they can afford intended price)
Make marketing mix decisions define the product, distribution, and promotional
tactics. Sum up costs; based on that determine your profit.
Estimate the demand curve assess possible demand for product. A larger demand
usually reduces price.
Calculate cost these include the fixed and variable costs associated with the product.

Endurance, Leadership, Attitude, And Perseverance
Endurance by Alfred Lansing is an astonishing true story of how a group of twenty
eight men survived in the Antarctic for two years, thanks primarily to one man s
leadership, attitude, and perseverance. The Imperial Trans Atlantic Expedition was
headed by Ernest Shackleton, an explorer and consummate leader of men.
Shackleton used his gut feeling to hand pick his crew, ensuring they knew that
success would be rewarded but also aware that a safe return home is not guaranteed.
Shackleton chose men with a mixture of skill sets and was sure to consider how each
member would fit in with the team. As a leader he understood when to allow
individuals to utilize their strengths while still leading a holistic team. Shackleton
was gifted with an uncanny ability to overcome conflict, communicate with his
followers, as well as remain flexible during any situation. The following briefly
recounts the story with my thoughts weaved in...
After years of tedious fundraising and preparation of his ship, Ernest Shackleton and
his crew of twenty seven men (as well as 69 dogs) sailed for the South Atlantic with
the intention to become the first people to ever cross the Antarctic land mass by foot.
At the time Antarctica was considered the last bastion of Earth surface exploration left
and the British yearned to achieve it first. This would not Shackleton s first time in
the Antarctic, he was experienced with the challenges that may present themselves
though no amount of preparation or familiarity
Theseus And Minotaur Research Paper
Theseus and the Minotaur Once upon a time there was a great king, king Minos.
The king attacked polis quite frequently since when ever he had nothing to do he
would go off and attack someone, but often it was Athens who he attacked. One
day he was feeling like he needed to fight a polis such as Athens. So he got all his
ships ready to from Crete to Athens. Athens did not like it when king Minos
attacked, for they knew he had more power than they did. As the ships came from
Crete, king Aegean of Athens was trying to come up with a plan to have the Cretan s
stop attacking them. Meanwhile, Crete s ships were gaining fast on Athens and they
were just in sight. Back on land it was a buzz with everyone hurriedly getting on
armor and getting to battle stations.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One afternoon Theseus was in his room when a little note was slid under his door and
it told him to go down to the courtyard the crack of dawn and so he did. It was
princess Ariadne who was going to help him defeat the Minotaur, she gave him a
magical string that would help find his way through the labryrinth, the giant maze
made by Daedalus and a sword. The next morning they were going into the
labryrinth. As soon as they were in, it was dark and wet with bones all around.
Theseus told one of the Athenian children to hold one end of the string when he
set off. Once Theseus was deep into the maze he heard a rumble and he knew that
was Minotaur. He ran in to the Minotaur with sword at hand it gave out a big groan.
Theseus cut through it a couple more times to make sure it was dead. With a sigh of
relief he walked back. At the entrance Ariadne was waiting to open the door to let
them out. When the Athenians got out and quickly got a ship to sail back, but
Theseus forgot to fly white sails so once King Aegean of Athens through himself off a
cliff because he thought his son had died. After his death they named the sea after

What Is An Indicator For System Generation And
Consumption...
Grid frequency $f$ can be considered as an indicator for system generation and
consumption power balance, when an imbalance occurs the power system frequency
will change accordingly.
One of the responsibility s of a transmission system operators is to operate the
electric grid at a certain system frequency which is the nominal grid frequency
$f_{0}$, 50 Hz in Europe, where the torque is continually adjusted to keep the
system frequency at the nominal grid frequency. in equation (1)
Where $Tgen$ is the generated torque, $Tload$ is the consumed torque including
grid losses torque and $JSys$ is the total moments of inertia in the system
representing the coupled synchronous machines response in case of any power
imbalance.

In the recent situation of the connected power grid for the ECSA, the amount of
residual inertia $J_{res}$ needed to prevent a blackout is decided by ROCOF
limits regulations which is in our case $delta f /delta t$=2 $Hz/s$, using related
equations(1)(2) and by using an inertia constant similar to that of already available
biomass and hydro units which is between /1.5s 4s/ cite{hh}, we get a maximum
rated power in the magnitude of 20$GW$ which is to put in context Significantly
lower than the total installed hydro power capacity of 136 $GW$ in the EU 27, with
an additional 62 $GW$ in Norway, Switzerland,
Turkey, Croatia and Iceland combined cite{hydro}, so it is clear that hydro along
with other RES such as biomass can generate the needed $J_{res}$ for the scenario
discussed without calculating existing synchronous generators inertia nor calculating
the inertia generated from synchronous loads, in other words even by the continuous
decrease in synchronous generation inertia it won`t be expected to not have enough
inertia in the EU 27 power system to cover a blackout scenario in case of a single
fault with a load generation of 3 $GW$ in
Essay Experiment to Investigate Osmosis in Potatoes
Experiment to Investigate Osmosis in Potatoes
The aim of this experiment is to investigate the movement of water in and out of
plant cells. The cells chosen for study will be taken from potato tubers. Firstly I will
explain what osmosis is. Osmosis is the passage of water from a region of high water
concentration through a semi permeable membrane to a region of low water
concentration. This definition contains three important statements:
a) It is the passage of water through a semi permeable membrane
b) It is the passage of water from a region of high water concentration
c) It is the passage of water to a region of low water concentration.
All the above statements are included in the definition, but define

Transpiration pulls water up the plant stem but osmosis is the process whereby
water is drawn into or out of cells and tissues. Osmosis is the flow of water by
diffusion through a differentially permeable membrane from areas of high water
concentration to regions of low water concentration. The diagram below illustrates
this:
Water can freely penetrate all membrane. The cellulose cell wall does not act as a
semi permeable membrane and will allow most substances that are dissolved in water
to freely pass through it.
Whether water enters the cell by osmosis or not will depend on the balance between
external and internal solute concentrations and the state of the cell. If the solutions on
each side of the differentially permeable membrane are equally concentrated then
there will be no net movement of water across the membrane. This is called an
equilibrium state and the solutions are referred to as being isotonic. A solution that
contains more solute particles than another, and is hence more concentrated, is
referred to as being hypertonic. The less concentrated solution is hypotonic. This
concentration of solute particles is usually described as a molarity.
Even if the solute concentration external to the cell is hypotonic to the vacuole
contents the cell will not continue to take in water by osmosis for ever. The
cellulose cell wall provides a rigid barrier to uncontrolled expansion. A cell that is full
of water
Sandra Cisneros Writing Essay
Writing in the 20th century was great deal harder for a Chicano then it was for a
typical American at this time. Although that did not stop this author, Sandra
Cisneros. One of her famous novels, Woman Hollering Creek was a prime example of
how a combined culture: Mexican Americans, could show their pride and identity in
this century. In conjunction, gave the opportunity for womento speak their voice and
forever change the culture of Latino/a markets. Not only did it express identity
/gender roles of women and relationships, but using these relationships to combine
the cultures of Mexican and American into a hybrid breed. This novel, should have
been a view point for the future to show that there is more to life than just gender and
race.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This goes on to show that the narrator (who expresses herself as young, poor girl)
does not have any women in her family and Lucy is someone she can run to and be
her female barrier through life, as a sister which she says, And we look at each
other, our arms gummy from Popsicle we split, we could be sisters right?(5)
.Relating to she wants so much to be close to this girl, and she imagines them as
sisters. In addition to, there are no male presence around except for her brothers
which makes her feel like she can not relate to their world. Another reference of
identity is in the story Barbie Q , the little girl is playing with Barbie dolls with her
friend, and the barbie dolls are very basic with not much clothing. Moreover, there
is no Ken Barbie dolls around either. This compares that there is no masculinity as
well as how poor these two girls are since the dolls only have few clothing. As a
result, these girls have to share . Before long, they have an opportunity to buy
some barbie dolls when there is a sale on burnt dolls due to warehouse that caught
on fire. And if the prettiest doll, Barbie s MOD ern cousin Francie with real
eyelashes, eyelash brush included, has a left foot melted a little so? (16). The girls
do not care or take notice to the damage, they are grateful for what they have.
Installing Bamboo Flooring Essay
Usually there are no instructions in the box on installing bamboo flooring, but it is
done just like ordinary hardwood flooring. The proper floor preparation is essential
before any installation. It is important that all sub flooring be flat with a tolerance
of no more than one half inch over a twelve foot span. If the sub floor is made of
wood, staples are better to use than flooringcleats. Staples hold better and do not
squeak when stepped upon. If you decide to use a glue down installation, use the
adhesive that is specified by the manufacturer. Be sure to avoid water based
adhesives at all costs.

The oil urethane wood finish supplies a highly durable coating that allows the
beauty of the wood to shine through while minimizing discoloration due to age. A
lambs wool applicator is required for even coating, and one gallon can cover over 600
square feet. The water based urethane finish can be used only on previously sealed
surfaces. The crystal clear coating shows off the natural wood beauty, and it dries
very fast. No mixing is required, and it is very economical to use. One gallon will
cover up to 1000 square feet.
5
Polyurethane hardwood floor finishes are blends of synthetic resins that protect the
surface of wood. They are moisture resistant and available in high gloss and semi
gloss as well as satin and matte. The finish is recommended for kitchens where
splashing water may be a problem. The polyurethane finish is the most common and
it turns a lovely shade of amber as it ages. Do not shake the polyurethane container
because air bubbles will appear in the final finish. Instead, stir the container to avoid
any mishaps. The coating should be applied with a brush or roller going with the
grain to avoid marking the finish.
6
The types of hardwood floor finishes determine the kind of maintenance you must
use to keep the floor new looking. Most of the time all you have to do is sweep the
floor with a broom or dust mop, and clean up spills as soon as they
Fistfight In Heaven
Out of all of the short stories in The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven
(TLR), none of them are as bizarre as Distances . A story set in a post apocalyptic
world where all the other races died in a flood while the Native Americans kept
refuge on top of the mountains. The setting itself is rather strange for casual
readers as it opens up a new perspective to the idea of a world being in turmoil. As
readers and consumers of media we are used to seeing only a selected few survive
in this kind of scenario rather than an entire race. This allows for Alexie to let his
creativity really run wild in this story. He decides to give this view from an Indians
perspective through the use of extremism. The setting alone is enough to show how
extreme this scenario is made to be. However, this is, in a way, necessary in order to
show the relationship... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most reoccurring being the lost of technology. Our narrator references
technology multiple times throughout the short story and the impact it had on him.
The first instance of this being a transistor radio he finds in one of the old houses.

Farm reports, sports scores, silence? (105). Finding this radio brings in the wonder
and possibility of finding survivors or, what he may think of being worse, no one to
carry on the usage of technology. This is emphasized later on when he makes the
comment about the watch that was found by Judas WildShoe. The Narrator admits
that he now has to measure time with [his] breath and how he makes mistakes when
counting (109). When readers see the way how technology, for example, affects this
new apocalyptic world they are instantly hooked to that story. They can recognize the
result of loosing technology and compare it with their own lives, making the

The Road Not Taken Analysis Essay. The Road Not Taken Analysis Poetry Fiction amp; Literature

  • 1. The Road Not Taken Analysis Essay Crafting an essay on the analysis of "The Road Not Taken" can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires a profound understanding of the poem's intricate layers and an ability to delve into the complexities of Robert Frost's work. The task involves more than just summarizing the verses; it necessitates a keen literary insight to decipher the symbolism, explore the thematic elements, and dissect the poet's intentions. One must tread carefully, navigating through the diverging paths of interpretation while avoiding the clichГ©d routes often taken by less discerning writers. Analyzing the nuances of Frost's language and the subtle shades of meaning embedded in each stanza demands a meticulous approach. Unraveling the metaphorical significance of the roads, the choices, and the consequences requires a thoughtful examination that goes beyond the surface level. Moreover, the challenge lies in constructing a coherent and compelling argument that not only reflects a deep understanding of the poem but also engages the reader. Formulating a thesis that encapsulates the essence of one's interpretation while providing a roadmap for the essay adds another layer of complexity. The essay should transcend the ordinary and venture into the realm of critical analysis, exploring the socio-cultural context, Frost's personal experiences, and the broader implications of the poem. This depth of exploration demands extensive research, thoughtful reflection, and the ability to connect the dots in a way that resonates with readers. In conclusion, navigating the literary landscape of "The Road Not Taken" for a comprehensive analysis is akin to navigating the paths in Frost's verse itself. It requires intellectual dexterity, a nuanced understanding of poetic devices, and a skillful articulation of one's interpretations. Yet, for those willing to embrace the challenge, the journey can be as rewarding as the exploration of the roads in Frost's timeless work. However, collecting detailed information about a suspect laboratory or cache may greatly assist a trained chemist and other explosives specialists or analysts to determine the suspect s intentions or capabilities by capturing, photographing or simply reporting items and their
  • 3. Who Is Mcdonald s Introduction During this assignment, I intend to cover the marketing concept and its importance to an organization as McDonalds. I will make particular reference of the marketing environment, consumer markets, market segmentation and the importance of the role of the marketing mix. In addition, I will focus on the concepts of marketing in terms of supporting their brand standards. McDonalds is known as the world s largest fast food chain and his presence is global. McDonald s has over 25,000 restaurants in the world., The organization, founded in 1940 by Richard and Maurice McDonald, has now operating over 1200 restaurants, of which 620 are franchises, only in the UK. Marketing is products that don t come back and consumers that do (Steve Dawson, President of Walkers Shortbread Inc.) The right product, in the right place, at the right time, at the right price (Adcock) According to Lansingbusinessnews.com (2015), brand standards are defined as a set of guidelines made to help companies and their affiliates to communicate the look, feel and representation of an organization. The purpose of using these guidelines is to transmit the same message to the target audience, so in this way the organization s message remains consistent. McDonald s strategy is to ensure uniformity at a global level and for this reason, all franchisees use standardized McDonald s branding, menus, design layouts and administration system (Franchising at McDonald s, 2008). Also, they focus on using the same manufacturing or handling methods in order to maintain the quality of the menu items. Brand standards are different for every organization and companies as McDonalds concentrate on every detail, but certainly a key point in brand developing is the logo. It is arguable that McDonalds has changed his logo many times but, surely, this can be explained by its long history and the need of adaptability. Although the McDonald s logo was inconsistently presented, this fact has not stopped McDonald s to become the

That s what Americans would be missing in life without having the Industrial Revolution occurring in history. The Industrial Revolution was a time of changes from working at home to working in factories with machines and engines. There were new inventions, upgrades in machinery, railroads, steamships, and oil booms. The lives of Americans were changed during this time period from 17th century. It is also the favored medium of communication in the business world. Nowadays, the telephone system can be configured to suit a business needs. At my job for example, the telephone has multiple functions. One is the paging system to reach someone; it can be used to make conference calls to multiple companies at the same time. With the invention of cellular phones, one can be reached anywhere in the world and be connected to the internet; as long as you have a signal of course. Over the centuries, people have been striving towards a fast, reliable means of communication. At first, those gaps were bridged with language, usable in face to face encounters and then written language, which could be transported over vast distances, though the timeliness of the message left something to be desired. • 6. Justification, The Moral Sense Of Right And Wrong Justification, is answering the question How sure do we need to be that our beliefs correspond to the actual world? Stating, when we are justifying something, we are asking ourselves how credible a statement really is. There are generally a few criteria that we can turn to when determining credibility of a statement. In mathematics, mathematical expressions are easily justifiable because their solutions are often concrete. One example of mathematical expressions are that corresponding angles are always congruent to each other. On the contrary, ethicsis the moral sense of right and wrong that a person has. This can be applied to personal and professional decision making of the individuals themselves. However, ethics may be often thought of as impossible to prove because of its reliance on individual moral, hence conclusions in ethics can be reached in several different ways, unlike mathematics where there is only one solid answer and it mostly consists of logic consistency. In ethics, the conclusion is determined on the individual and how they see the situation from their point of view and conclude from there. Hence this causes disputes and is controversial because not everyone has the same way of thinking. Thus mathematics is a better way of having different method of justification because there are not multitude conclusions since mathematics is based on logic and the conclusion is always universal so everyone agrees unlike with ethics, that the conclusions can be

The Four Main Types Of Blood Cancers There are four main types of blood cancers: acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). AML and ALL can become fatal within in a few weeks or month if not properly treated. CML and CLL has a slower progression rate than there chronic counterparts. Patients with AML or ALL tend to have noticeable symptoms whereas patients with CML or CLL tend to be asymptomatic (Hallek, 2015). Even though chronic leukemiaprogresses slowly, acute leukemia is easier to treat. In AML patients myeloid blast are arrested in development and are unable to fight infections properly because they are unable to mature (Döhner et al, 2015). Myeloid blast in CML can mature... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If chemotherapy is unsuccessful for the patient, then Trisenox (Arsenic Trioxide) is a drug that can treat APL. Trisenox induces oxidative stress and causes an overproduction of ROS in the myeloid blasts (Lo Coco, 2016). The uncle most likely has chronic lymphocytic leukemia instead of acute lymphocytic leukemia. The aunt condition however is acute. Chronic has a slower progression than acute which means the person does not have to immediately be treated with chemotherapy. Hyperplasia is an increase in the reproduction of cells. Hyperplasia can occur due to hormonal or compensatory reasons. For instance, hormonal hyperplasia can initiate cell proliferation in breast tissue during puberty. An example of compensatory hyperplasia is when a patient has a partial hepatectomy and the organ is able to regenerate to its original size due to an increase of cell proliferation. Metaplasia is an adaptive change in response to an irritant that incite the replacement of one cell type to another. This is commonly seen in the lung tissues of a smoker. The ciliated columnar epithelium in the lungs will be replaced by stratified squamous due to the toxins in the smoke. The cells undergoes this transformation to better protect the tissue underlying tissues. The stratified squamous epithelium are unable to perform the same function as the ciliated columnar epithelium. Hyperplasia is an increase in cell proliferation whereas metaplasia is a replacement of one

When administrating a network, you have to ensure critical services have as close to 100% uptime, because if they are down, your users are going to hassle you all the time and that can be quite annoying with some users. When maintaining a network, you also have a number of other tasks to perform every day. These include: User management Adding, removing and apply security to user accounts and groups Hardware Upgrading hardware Replacing faulting hardware Software Providing support for applications and operating systems Ensuring critical data is being backed up Monitoring Monitor the system Checking logs Conducting security audits Support Attending to users help requests Writing documentation One of the hardest challenges in administrating a network is application support. You can very rarely just add a major application or a network service without any issues. Your network will need to support it. Both physically and virtually; internally and externally Can the application be supported Are their people who know how to use the application? What risks will it introduce? Since the disbandment an ongoing discussion concerning the circus and its ethics has been widely discussed by many different groups; but disagreement can be most strongly seen between the discourse of animal welfare groups, and the circusperformers themselves. The topics being addressed is how these different populations perceives the events surrounding the circus s disbandment and what is actually more beneficial for the circus animals and the performers in the long run after the greatest show on Earth is over. • 10. The Relationship Between Risk And Expected Returns The Relationship Between Risk and Expected Returns According to investment glossaries, a risk is a future probability of loss inherent in any investment (Investopedia Financial Dictionary, 2016). To this day, the positive correlation between risk and return continues to be the cornerstone of financial theory. The basic capital asset pricing model (CAPM) formula is built on this relationship. CAPM provides the required return based on the level of systematic risk of an investment. The risk associated with an investment is taken to lie along a scale. On the low risk end of the scale, there are low yielding government bonds and securities. At the middle of the spectrum are medium performing investments such as high yielding loan notes, and rental property. At the far end of the scale high risk are futures, options, and equity investments. However, the positive relationship between risk and return does not guarantee that taking a greater risk will result in higher returns. Rather, a higher risk may lead to the loss of a greater amount of capital. This paper seeks to examine the risk and return relationship and how investors can determine the optimal trade off. The risk return principle. It is a principle that the potential returns on investment rise with the increase in risk. According to this principle, low levels of uncertainty like in the case of government bonds have low potential returns. For instance, a US five year Treasury bond yields a return of 1.125

This is an ultimate question that has been answered by many of the world religions. We will be comparing the concepts of suffering in both Christianity and Buddhism to see how these views differ to one another. What is the purpose of suffering, what role does it play in our lives? In Christianity, the Bible displays many reasons why we may suffer in our lifetimes. In Christianity, we suffer in order to help us grow as people, to easily empathise with one another and to bring us closer to God. The purpose of suffering is to ensure that we are constantly growing into better people removing the weakness and immaturity and sins from us. Suffering is used to encourage us to become better people and to move away from sin. • 17. Evaluating The Sources Of Data Variable Is A Controlled Or... A hypothesis is a point of research for evaluating the sources of data in either a controlled or uncontrolled experiment using variables. An hypothesis is the prediction that requires the process of being proved of being false or true (Bowles, 2013). A hypothesis must be clear and simple to understand that states the purpose of a test. It must contain logical and be testable. The hypothesis defines what data variable are considered for testing. The development of a hypothesis begins with identifying the object with an abstract concept of the research and relationship to a statement being evaluated (Bowles, 2013). There are four stages to testing a hypothesis in statics. The four stages are state the hypothesis, set criteria for a decision, collect the data, and evaluated the data. A hypothesis statement contains two parts a null hypothesis and and alternative hypothesis. The null hypothesis is represented as Ho or Hn that is believed to be true or a basis for an argument (Tayor, 2016). It always has a equal sign (Tanner Youssef Morgan, 2013). The alternative hypothesis is represented as Hi or Ha that is established as an opposite of the Ho. Ha can only be reached by the rejection of the Ho. Ha is the desired outcome. A example of a stated hypothesis is as followed: Ho: p = p, and Ha: p =/= p (Zhong Zhong, 2013). The criteria for accepting and rejecting the hypothesis depends on a specific calculated value set by the research. The criteria value has to

An African funeral begins with removal of the body from home, which is done through a previously made hole in the wall of the home. Africans remove a dead body through the hole, instead of a door, to confuse a spirit and make sure that a spirit of a deceased person will not return back home, as a hole in the wall is immediately closed after removal of the body. In effort to confuse a spirit even more, they place thorns and sticks in a zigzag pattern along the way as body being taken to the place of burial.

The twenty first century is focused around technological advances and social status based on the accumulation of items, which influences the society. On the contrary, the fifth and sixth centuries was a simpler time filled with valiant warriors defending their community and their king. The society reflects these values and Beowulfsymbolizes this era and its aspects very accurately. The epic of Beowulf is structured around oral writing, the concept of comitatus, Pagan Christian tension, and warriors. At the time, there was no form of writing meaning all the stories were orally composed, which leads to certain mechanisms and strategies being used. Beowulf was originally composed in Old English and in rhythmic meter to make it easier to be remembered and recited. One of these strategies was using long dialogues or speeches that a single character says. This was used because it makes it easier for the orators to speak in speech form. Also, repetition was used throughout, so that certain points were emphasized and aren t forgotten or overlooked. For example, Beowulf told his people the whole story about defeating Grendel and his mom, even though the fights were just told. In an oral culture without written documents, the author inputted family lineage when mentioning a name of a person, like Unerf, son of Ecglaf.. Oral

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One potential solution is to change the current rules and regulations that the Eldorado National Forest has set in regards to wood cutting. According to the woodcutting guidelines for the Eldorado National Forest on the USDA website, the current limit of wood cut per year is two cords that you may not sell, specific to dead trees only that are located at least 200 feet away from any campsite or main roads. If the Forest Service were to have well trained employees mark living trees that were too close together and would be appropriate to be removed, effectively thinning out the denser areas of the forest, people that have purchased woodcutting permits could cut down the marked trees. The most predominant downsides to cutting down a living tree is that it is significantly heavier that a dead tree would be and that it would need to dry out for about a year to actually be able to be burned in a fireplace or woodstove. A potential incentive would be to allow an unlimited amount of cords to be acquired throughout the year and to allow for the personal sale of the wood that is cut. If the Eldorado were to adopt these guidelines, as each forest is allowed to set and regulate their own woodcutting standards, this would be effective in suppressing future fires by thinning out the forest, at no additional cost to the forest service, aside from the wages paid to the employees marking the trees. If you have you are not alone, many people have studied primary and secondary sources for a long time. Although some accurate details have come up, life back in the colonial days was not what it is said to be. Many people think that farming was easy and quick but this was certainly not the case. Living on a farm, colonists always had a job to do. They had jobs all the way from clearing land to caring for babies. Recruiting and training the right staff is required to create a competitive advantage. Customers make judgments about service provision and delivery based on the people representing your organisation. Example, the praise received by the volunteers (games makers) for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics demonstrates the powerful effect people can create during service delivery. Staff require appropriate interpersonal skills, aptititude, and service knowledge in order to deliver a quality service (Service marketing mix n.d.). Secondly, process is used to deliver the service. Imagine a customer walks into Burger King and get it delivered within 2 minutes. What was the process that allowed them to obtain an efficient service delivery? All services need to be underpinned by clearly defined and efficient processes. This will avoid confusion and promote a consistent service. In other words processes mean that everybody knows what to do and how to do it (Service marketing mix n.d.). Thirdly, physical evidence is about where the service is being delivered from. It is particularly relevant to retailers operating out of shops. Physical evidence can be used to charge a premium price for a service and establish a positive experience. For example all hotels provide a bed to sleep on but one of the things affecting the price charged, is the

Remember, the main purpose of employee training is to develop the employee s skill which will eventually make the organization more profitable (Ameeq ul Ameeq, Hanif, 2013). Audiovisual Methods The use of audiovisual equipment like instructional DVDs, CDs, or digital media is beneficial in initially showing an incoming employee how the company s business works. DVDs, CDs, or digital media can assist employees in need of training without the associated cost of a second instructing employee. This can be of use when the training is monotonous and not required to have a high level explanation. It highlighted that in 2005 only 6% of the urban population in Europe and other developed regions lived in informal settlements, compared to an astounding 41% of the urban population in developing regions. Furthermore the report projected that within the next 30 years the number of people living in informal settlements would reach nearly 2 billion if no affirmative action is taken. The Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD) ( 2001) defines informal settlements as: 1. areas where groups of housing units have been constructed on land that the occupants have no legal claim to, or occupy illegally; 2. unplanned settlements and areas where housing is not in compliance with current planning and building regulations (unauthorized housing). The thought of being miles upon miles away is something that can make people question the strength of their relationship. However, this trend of long distance is something that is becoming more and more common with the advancement of technology such as video chatting sources like Facetime or Skype. This trend is something I ve personally noticed many college students, especially freshmen, experiencing. They have their high school sweetheart that is suddenly moving miles away to another college. They do not know how to handle it but, of course, they try and make it work. I am much like all these people except I never had the experience of living close to my significant other. We ve always been miles apart, seven hundred and seventy eight to be exact. And even though it has its hard times, it always seems worth it when we re together. I am by no means an expert, but I am hoping that through my experiences, I can inspire someone to try and make it work. What I ve figured out is how important communication is. It is so important to communicate everything. If something he or she does makes you uncomfortable, let him know. If he says the sweetest thing in the world to you and it makes your heart melt, let him know. By keeping things bottled up in your head, its just going to make you frustrated, upset, and most likely, hurt. Long distance relationships are so complicated. There is no set formula to them.

Transpiration pulls water up the plant stem but osmosis is the process whereby water is drawn into or out of cells and tissues. Osmosis is the flow of water by diffusion through a differentially permeable membrane from areas of high water concentration to regions of low water concentration. The diagram below illustrates this: Water can freely penetrate all membrane. The cellulose cell wall does not act as a semi permeable membrane and will allow most substances that are dissolved in water to freely pass through it. Whether water enters the cell by osmosis or not will depend on the balance between external and internal solute concentrations and the state of the cell. If the solutions on each side of the differentially permeable membrane are equally concentrated then there will be no net movement of water across the membrane. This is called an equilibrium state and the solutions are referred to as being isotonic. A solution that contains more solute particles than another, and is hence more concentrated, is referred to as being hypertonic. The less concentrated solution is hypotonic. This concentration of solute particles is usually described as a molarity. Even if the solute concentration external to the cell is hypotonic to the vacuole contents the cell will not continue to take in water by osmosis for ever. The cellulose cell wall provides a rigid barrier to uncontrolled expansion. A cell that is full of water
