Music To Write Essays To
Exploring the nuances of crafting an essay on the theme of "Music To Write Essays To" is a
venture into the intricate relationship between two art forms. At first glance, the topic seems like
a harmonious marriage of creativity and inspiration, promising a seamless blend of musical notes
and written words. However, delving deeper reveals the challenge inherent in this task.
One primary obstacle lies in the subjectivity of music preferences. What resonates as an inspiring
melody for one person may sound discordant and distracting to another. Selecting a universal
soundtrack that serves as a catalyst for writing becomes an intricate dance between personal
tastes and the need for broad appeal. Moreover, the vast spectrum of musical genres, from
classical symphonies to contemporary beats, adds layers of complexity to the selection process.
Attempting to capture the essence of music in written form poses its own set of challenges.
Describing the emotive power of a particular composition demands a delicate balance between
analytical precision and the expressive language required to convey the auditory experience. The
risk of falling into the trap of overreliance on adjectives or resorting to clichГ©s is ever-present,
requiring a writer to navigate the fine line between poetic description and concrete analysis.
Furthermore, the connection between music and the writing process is deeply personal. Writers
may find themselves grappling with the challenge of translating an abstract and emotional
experience into concrete and coherent prose. The danger of veering into tangential reflections or
losing the essay's focus while exploring the sensory impact of music is an ever-present concern.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on "Music To Write Essays To" demands a delicate dance with
subjectivity, an adept handling of diverse musical tastes, and a nuanced approach to articulating
the profound influence of music on the writing process. It is an endeavor that requires the writer
to navigate through the symphony of challenges while orchestrating a harmonious interplay of
words and melodies.

Pseudonymous Writing
Introduction: Pseudonymous Writing in the Ancient and Present Times
Pseudopigrapha is a type of writing where the author uses a different name for several
purposes. It has been practiced in numerous educational disciplines. In the earlier part
of history, there are two types of pseudonymous writing that was employed. The first
type is when the author uses an assumed name to remain anonymous and the second
type is when an author uses the name of another author. The pseudonymous writingis
widely used for varied reasons, mostly with honest intentions. The second type of
pseudopigrapha is known as forgery, and through the course of history, its definition
and function has evolved. In ancient times, forgery is an honorable practice of writing,

However, several factors have to be considered. The considerations are needed to be
put in place is to put forgery in the accurate context. In the ancient times when
copyright laws are not yet enforced, forgery is an acceptable practice. Taussig argued
that committing forgery is not rooted in fraudulence but inferred as an honorable
convention. Further, Ehrman synthesized the use of forgery to empower the
teachings of an influential individual, synonymous to Paul s clout in the early
Christianity. Having these occurrences in mind, we can then maintain the
trustworthiness of the Deutero Pauline Epistles in the same value as we put on the
epistles that were penned by Paul himself. Learning these cogitations, it is important
that we look at the message of the epistles and its significance in the formation of the
faith tradition. Although the abovementioned epistles are written by different
individuals (other than Paul), they have augmented the theology that was taught by
Paul. The epistles were written in the context of the audiences that they were
intended, because of this, forgery did not connote any negative feedback on its
teachings. In this light then, it more important to focus on the message that Deutero
Pauline Epistles convey than to look at
Hydraulic Fracture Case Study
In grid based models, the fracture is propagated through a fixed grid. This idea was
used in early 2D hydraulic fracture simulators (Settari 1980) where when the stress
normal to the fracture plane exceeded the tensile strength, the fracture extended into
a new grid cell. Therefore, grid based models were suitable for coupling with
reservoir simulators and geomechanics codes (Ji, Settari, and Sullivan 2009). 3D
grid based models were extended to deal with multiple fractures, for example, the
MultiFrac Placement Pseudo 3D (MLF P3D) model (Dontsov and Peirce 2015).
These models are very complex being capable of simulating multiple hydraulic
fractures simultaneously propagating from multiple perforation intervals where each

2015). The Unconventional Fracture Model (UFM), developed by Cipolla et al.
(2010), considers the effect of natural fractures, stress distribution, and influence of
the mechanical properties of fracture morphology (Cipolla et al. 2010). The UFM
model can simulate the propagation of asymmetric fracture networks accounting for
fluid flow in the fracture network and elastic deformation of the fractures. The
initial assumptions and governing equations (fluid flow in the fracture network, mass
conservation and fracture deformation) are similar to the conventional P3D model
(Weng 2015).
Passey et al. (2010) claimed that there is a large variability in lithology between shale
plays and even within a single shale formation (Passey et al. 2010). Britt and Smith
(2009) emphasized the importance of geomechanics and the state of stress of a shale
play for a successful hydraulic fracturing stimulation (Britt and Smith 2009). In
addition, Rickman et al. (2008) stressed that the mechanical rock properties, such as
brittleness and mineralogy, are fundamental in completion designs. While ductile
shale tend to restore any fracture formed, brittle shale often have natural fractures
which react to hydraulic fracturing (Rickman et al. 2008). In general, the Young s
Modulus of the shale measured parallel to the bedding plane is greater than that
measured perpendicular to the bedding plane. Sone and Zoback (2013) explained the
role of anisotropy on the
Personal Narrative-Pussy Cock
Pussy lips were pulled apart, stretched like latex around my gigantic glans. She
slammed her hips back, I shoved my monstrous organ forward. Schl pop!
Aaauuugh! Fuck! she cried as my cock s crown stretched her out. I felt pressure as
her cunt got even tighter. Estelle s whole body shuddered. Splisch! Boiling hot
juices sprayed around my cock s girth and dripped down her legs. The silky tunnel
massaged my glans.
We aren t even getting started, Ms. Borgelin, I chuckled.
Fout myed. Ugh. You Japanese bastard. she stuttered. Give me more!
I didn t answer her. I gripped her hips and began to rock my own, grunting as my
cock s enormous head began to grind inside her, helping to loosen her up. The walls
of her pussy began to yield to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another mystery tearing. I could feel my own heat swirling madly around my
organ as I emptied my balls, the lovely sensation of liters and liters of my own sperm
raging like a storm. I noticed the teacher s eyes blearily refocusing. I grabbed Estelle
s head and turned it to the side. She let out another howl as she saw how big she was
growing, belly spilling over her lap.
Mmmf! Aaauugh! She began to convulse through another messy orgasm.
SCHHRRIIPP! The purple cloth over her back split in half and pulled in front of
her, abruptly exposing her upper body and the fact that she had worn no bra. Slap!
her belly smacked and bounced against her legs, filling her lap as she filled mine. It
took me a moment to realize what had happened ... the dress just couldn t keep up
with her belly!
Semen rolled down, forming a pool atop the leather between my legs and creeping
along till it dripped down the front of the couch. Soon, she looked like she had a yoga
ball in her belly.
Splurt. Splurt. I felt my balls finally release the last dregs of my load. I sighed in
satisfaction, sinking into the chaise. Estelle rolled forward and collapsed atop her
belly. But she did manage to look back over her shoulder and say, Mmmgh. Call.
Cryptozoologys
Cryptozoology? Some may ask what this is. Cryptozoology simply is The study of
evidence tending to substantiate the existence of, or the search for, creatures whose
reported existence is unproven, as the abominable snowman or the loch ness monster.
(dictionary.com) Cryptozoology is an amazing and interesting and very useful
scientific study.
The term Cryptozoology was coined by John Wall. Coming from the Greek roots
kryptos (hidden), zoon (animal), and logos (discourse). This put together means
(the science of hidden animals.) (Danny B Stewart Cryptozoology) A cryptid could
be many things, this includes. Animals living in a place that they weren t known to
live in, known species whose form, color, or size is odd example the giant anaconda
or spotted lions. It could also be known species thought to be extinct, presumably
extinct species only feathers and such found but no complete fossils, new species
known by only stories, prehistoric animals that may not actually be extinct, new
species only known by indigenous or aboriginal people.

Compare And Contrast The 16th Amendment And The
13th...
The final amendment passed during the Reconstruction time period was the Fifteenth
Amendment in 1870, and, not surprisingly, the Fifteenth Amendment met mass
backlash, as did the Thirteenth and Fourteenth. Up until 1870, there was still an
important practice that black people were not allowed to take part in: voting. A
government cannot be a democracy unless the whole population votes, but the 1868
election was still denying two large groups the ballot: African Americans and females.
Radical Republicans thought that black enfranchisement would be ideal because
freedmen would vote for the Republicans, and Ulysses S. Grant, the Republican
nominee, would have enough support to win the election. They wanted to overpower
Southerners and Democrats. The Fifteenth Amendment declared that no man born in
the United States could be denied the right to vote. Once again, Southerners were
infuriated because blacks would surely vote for the Radical Republicans.
Additionally, now blacks could vote but ex Confederates could not. Because of their
frustration of the Fifteenth Amendment, Southern legislatures made new state laws
to restrict black voting. African Americans would have to pass these obstacles in
order to vote. The Grandfather Clause allowed people to vote if their grandfathers
were able to vote in their days. Since blacks were just enfranchised, no African
Americans had grandfathers who could vote. If their grandfather could not vote, the
citizen (a black or poor white) would have
Why Is The Atomic Theory Important
The Atomic Theory is a theory that explains what matter is made of. The Atomic
theory states that matter can t be divided as it is made up of minute particles called
atoms that cannot be separated. The very word atom is derived from the Greek word
Atmos which means indivisible.

Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry Generosity Quotes
It takes generosity to discover the whole through others. If you realize you are only
a violin, you can open yourself up to the world by playing your role in the concert.
(Jacques Yves Cousteau). This quote by Jacques is shown with in Jeremy because
of how he shows his generosity with the Logan and other black families. This
characteristic that is shown Within Jeremy can play a role in this time period just
like how the author Jacques says the violin plays a role in a concert because of his
thoughtful and or Generous personality that can bring blacks and whites together.
In the novel Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, Jeremy shows the great quality of
generosity because he gave mama nuts for Christmas, Offered his time and talents

he gave mama nuts for Christmas. Generosity is greatly shown within Jeremy in
the story because he had a choice to not give Mama Nuts but he risked his Life to

Who Is Stephen Crane A Naturalist
Stephen Crane, Naturalist or Realist? To understand Crane first we need to know
what a naturalist and a realist writer are in terms of literature. A realist wrote about
the world in the here and now of its time period. Realist wrote on a subject as it
was, made the reader feel like they were right there in that time and space. A
naturalist come from the realist. A naturalist wrote just like the realist but went
deeper into the person as well as their environment. A naturalist wanted to make
you as the reader feel like you were there and to make you relate to if not feel like
the character of the story. Stephen Crane was known as a naturalist writer of his
time. Two of his most famous works were Maggie and The Open Boat . In Maggie the

Jesse Owens full name was James Cleveland Owens. Jesse was born on September
12, 1913 in Oakville, Alabama and died on March 31, 1980 in Tuscan, Arizona. As
a kid he was expected to work in cotton fields even when he was sick. He was sick
with chronic bronchial congestion and pneumonia. While he was in the fields
Jesse had to carry 100 lbs. a day. On Sundays he had to go to church and on Sunday
nights he went to bed as soon as the sun went down. He went to bed that early
because he had to get up at 4:00 in the morning to work the fields. When Jesse
turned 9 he moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Jesses father had trouble keeping a steady

He earned money from his physical talents, he did this by racing cars and horses.
Jesse played for the Harlem Globetrotters. Jesse married a girl named Ruth Solomon
and had three children. They lived in Cleveland. Everyone in Cleveland welcomed
him back with open arms, the only thing they wouldn t do was give him a job. After
he retired from running he opened a business in Chicago, Illinois. The business was
public relations and marketing. He traveled around the United States to attend
conventions and other business gatherings. Jesse was wanting to be in baseball or
football. At the time African Americans weren t allowed to play in either sports. A
good thoroughbred is twice as fast as a human. When he was racing his first
racehorse Jesse ran faster than he ever did. After the race he learned that the
hoarse was actually ten yards behind him. The things he didn t like about racing
horses was that he was away from family. He wasn t sure if it was participating in
athletic events or making a spectacle of himself. Finally Jesse quit and went back
to Cleveland. In Cleveland he went to work at the playground. One night he was
visited by someone from Australia. He and Jesse talked about the Olympics.
Around nine o clock the Australian left. Jesse moved to Detroit. His mother died
and soon after his father did too. Detroit and Cleveland had made bad memories
for Jesse. He moved to Detroit for a new start. Detroit didn t work out so well for
him. So he thought Chicago, Illinois was going to be a good place to start a
business. In 1956 Jesse was appointed Ambassador of Sport for the United States.
With this he was offered to travel around the world too teach kids good
sportsmanship and competition. After a while of that he was finally director of
sports clinics of its Youth Commission. In 1960 before the Olympic Gameshis
daughter was elected queen of homecoming which was at Ohio State University. That

The Music Of Duke Ellington
I attended the Jazz Ensembles Concert, The Music of Duke Ellington, on
Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Griffin Concert Hall, University Center for
the Arts. I was not really sure what to expect since I had never experienced Jazz in a
concert hall setting, however, I believe I am still able to make an informed and
unbiased review.
Not only was this my first Jazz concert, but it was also my first time visiting the
University Center for the Arts. I was greeted immediately and with a very
welcoming attitude by staff that was willing to guide me in the right direction
when locating the entrance to the Griffin Concert Hall. I felt for such a
professional environment I should have been paying a lot of money to be enjoying a
show at this facility. Proceeding into the concert hall I observed a nearly every seat
full with people of all ages. I sat rather close to the stage so I could get a good look
and really observe facial expressions and demeanor of the personnel.
After peaking though my program to better understand what to expect throughout
the concert, I realized there were going to be two performances with 2 different
ensembles as well as directors. Promptly at 7:30 pm, the band of Jazz Ensemble II
came out, gathered their places on stage, and began to play Things Ain t What They
Used to Be by Mercer Ellington. I immediately recognized the stereotypical jazz setup
such as the primary melodic instruments: saxophones, trumpets, trombones, as well as

How Did Margaret Sanger Influence A Women s Rights
Movement
Margaret Sanger, a women s health activist, was one of the most influential women
of her time. She was one of the first people to open a birth control clinic, along with
writing multiple books on the health and values of women. She was also one of the
first people to change the way Americans thought of women. She wanted more
respect not just for herself, but the million of women around her. Sanger established
the first birth controlclinic in the United States, founded the Birth Control League in
1921, and fought for the legalization of the birth control pill. Margaret Sangerwas

Sanger was thought of as a major feminist during her era. Sanger believed that
women needed to stop thinking that they were beneath men. She wanted women to
make themselves happy, not just be servants to men. Sanger pushed to change the
idea that women should follow in mens footsteps, she wanted a revolutionary
change. Sanger was often thrown through many obstacles while trying to legalize
birth control. Most men tried putting a stop to birth control. Even some women
tried to put a stop to birth control from the influence of men. The government
thought birth control would hurt more than aid the people of America. Sanger did
not want to live in a sexist, men dominated world, she believed that it is not to
preserve a man made world, but to create a human world by the infusion of the
feminine element into all of its activities. Sanger desired for men to think of women
as more than just a children making machine. She wanted the women of America to
have their own dreams and goals and to have high self respect. Sanger wanted to
educate women on how they can work for themselves and not just be under the
thumb of a man. She did not want women to fear the dominance of a man. Sanger
pushed to educate women in order for them to have more expectations for
What I Visited The Newport Back Bay Visitors Center
General Description I visited the Newport Back Bay Visitors Center. It is located
in the Newport Back Bay for people to visit and learn about the wonderful Back
Bay that is only steps from our very own school, CDM. The history of the Back Bay
goes back a long time. In the 18th century when the Spanish arrived in California
places like the Back Bay were very abundant. However by 1975 less than 10%
remained in between Santa Barbra and Mexico. In 1960 plans were made to make
the back bay a large marina with houses right along the water. But in 1967 when a
group of citizens founded the Friends of Newport Bay they fought to keep this
from happening. It was also founded to help bring attention to the ecological
importance of the Bay and to help try and ensure its survival. As a result of the
Friends of Newport Bay the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve was founded
in 1975. Seven years latter in 1982 more land was added at Big Canyon. Five years
later, in 1989 what is now known as Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve was
established on the neighboring bluffs after the County of Orange acquired an
additional 140 acres. Eleven years after in 2000 the Friends and the Naturalists
joined forces to become the Newport Bay Naturalists Friends. Most recently, in 2010
it was elected to change the name of this organization to the Newport Bay
Conservancy, which is the name that stands today. The visitor s center helps inform
people of the intricate Back Bay, how it is being preserved,
Essay On Prescription Drug Abuse
Prescription drug abuse is the use of prescribed medications for reasons other than
intended by a doctor or medical professional. Prescription drug abuse involves the
misuse of any and all drugs to alter the physical or mental status of a person. The
misuse of prescription drugs is described as taking excess amounts, more frequently,
or for much longer than originally prescribed. Prescription drugs come in different
forms and treat many different illnesses and diseases. Different drugs fall into
different groups and can produce different highs when they are abused. Every drug
falls into one of four groups. One of the four groups is opiods. Opiods are basically
painkillers, they attach to tiny parts of your brain to relieve pain. Common examples
of opiods are oxycodone, methadone, hydrocodone, and codeine. Because demand
and use of painkillers is high it s easy to see why opiods are the most commonly
abused class. Sedatives are another class of drugs. Commonly abused sedatives are
phenobarbital, methaqualone, clonazepam, and alprazolam. Sedatives are usually
used to treat symptoms of insomnia, anxiety, and panic disorders. When abused,
sedatives offer a more relaxed, chilled type... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Examples Of Jackie Robinson Struggle For Equality
Jackie Robinson and the Struggle for Equality in Baseball
Baseball has always been known as America s pastime. But America s pastime, along
with America s past, have both been saturated with the brutal force of racism. For
hundreds of years, from the time of slavery until the middle of the 20th century,
African American children rounded up their friends and headed to the baseball
diamond. There, for thousands of young black players, the smell of the grass, the
cloud of dust that formed when running the ninety feet between bases, and the
feeling of safely sliding into home plate for a run marked the glimmer of fun and
excitement in an otherwise dreary day. However, due to the color of their skin,
black children were not awarded these This feeling was felt until April 15, 1947,
until the man who would change all this stepped up to bat, marking the first time an

far as the African American race is concerned, Jackie Robinson is the man. The day
has lived in history as the first day of the beginning of a new truth. That, with hard
work and a heart the size of a watermelon, black people could aspire to be more.
Jackie Robinson is responsible for the truth of hope, a truth more powerful than any
other. With this new hope, Jackie Robinson and the African American race marked
the beginning of the struggle for the ultimate holy grail...equality.

crazy Eddie fraud case
Crazy Eddie, Inc. financial fraud case
Crazy Eddie was an American retail store chain run by the Antar family, which was
established as a private company in 1969 in Brooklyn, New York by businessmen
Eddie and Sam M. Antar. The fraud at Crazy Eddie was one of the longest running in
modern times, lasting from 1969 to 1987. Crazy Eddie became a known symbol for
corporate fraud in its time, but has since been eclipsed by the Enron, Worldcom and
Bernie Madoff accounting scandals.
Commencement of fraud
The fraud began almost immediately, with the management of Crazy Eddie
underreporting taxable income through skimming cash sales, paying employees in
cash to avoid payroll taxes and reporting fake insurance claims to the company s
carriers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Eddie Antar, the CEO of Crazy Eddie, was charged with securities fraud and other
crimes, but fled to Israel before his trial. He spent three years in hiding until he
was eventually tracked down by authorities in 1992 and extradited back to the U.S.
to face criminal charges. Antar and two other family members were also convicted
for their role in the fraud. In 1997, Antar was sentenced to eight years in prison and
paid large fines. He was later released in 1999.
Crazy Eddie Red Flags
The red flags in the Crazy Eddie, Inc. financial fraud case which could notify the

The tight knit Antar family ruling Crazy Eddie had virtual absolute control over all
aspects of the business.
Very poor audittrails and documentation.
Major self dealing transactions and related party transactions by family members.
Substantial increases in wages from below market wages before the company went

have similarities in their character. They are all women that have lived in an era in
which women are seen as nothing. This woman had no identity in this world because

Marijuana as Medical Treatment
Marijuana as medical treatment Should marijuana become legal in our country as a

Why Art Director
Have you ever been to an art show, art museum or an art display? Do you know
who sets all of that up? Who plans all of the dates? Who picks all the art? Who tells
the people who attend? Who asks the artists if they want their art showed? Who
breaks the news to those who don t get to show their work? The answer is an art
director! If I was graduating college today, I would choose an art director as my
career! Plus, I have many reasons why!
First off, there are four main job families, these are data, people, ideas and things.
Data, is people who like science and math and doing experiments, people are
people who enjoy social studies and english or interacting with others, ideas is
people who enjoy technology and coming up with solutions to problems. Last but
not least things, are people who enjoy hands on things, this could fall under any
subject. I think I fall under social and Ideas, because I enjoy interacting with others
and I also enjoy coming up with solutions. This relates to my job easily. As an art
director I would need to help my co workers and eventually, choose whose art I think
would be best to show.

The teachers must follow their code of conduct that states that they must use
appropriate language. They must promote gender equality, and exercise authority
with compassion and keep parents informed about learner s progress.

Parents and teachers don t need to work against each other but rather together. Both
parent and teacher have the same goals, and pass rates for learners, that s why
teachers and parents has to work together in the teaching. The teacher s task of
teaching at school is to teach them their work and to prepare them for their test and

Blaise Pascal, A 17Th Century Philosopher Known For His
Blaise Pascal, a 17th century philosopher known for his work PensГ©es, or The
Thoughts, serves as a voice of human limitation. Throughout his aphorisms, he clearly
expresses the limitations of man as he refers to man s inconstancy, boredom, [and]
anxiety and claims that man should know [his] nothingness (Pascal 33, 28) Pascal
holds a pessimistic view towards man s position in the world and ultimately deems
man to be utter(ly) worthless (Pascal vii). Pascal s disappointment towards the
limitations of mankind ultimately causes him to contradict the beliefs of Descartes
who strives to find just one thing, however slight, that is certain and unshaken in

Infinitely far from grasping the extremes, the end of things and their beginning are
for him invincibly hidden in an impenetrable secret; and he is equally incapable of
seeing the nothingness out of which he is drawn, and the infinite in which he is
swallowed up. (Pascal 5) Pascal views the human condition through a substantially
dark, pessimistic perspective. He believes man holds an incredibly insubstantial
position in the world, for he is limited in all respects and merely occupies a sort of
mid position between nothing and everything (Pascal 7). Man lives a short life
that stands as a mid point between the eternity that precedes him and the eternity
that will follow him. Man has no way of knowing for certain what came before him
or what will come after him; after all, how could such a small, fragile, perishable,
and limited thing have any certain knowledge of anything vast, imperishable, and
unlimited? The nature of man is to be nothing more than a part of a whole, and if
man studied himself, he would see how incapable he is of going beyond himself
(Pascal 8). Man, according to Pascal, refuses to accept his puniness and limitations.
We refuse to accept that our very nature is minuscule and limited in the grand scheme
of eternity. Is not the duration of our life still infinitesimal within eternity, even if ten
years be added to it? (Pascal 8). Unlike the infinite, we are finite, perishable

Gender Of The Gift By The Marilyn Strathern
The book Gender of the Gift by the Marilyn Strathern is a detailed evaluation of the
problems faced by women and the society at large in Melanesia. The study mainly
focuses on the native s culture with the guinea mead s field report as the center of
interest. The report encompasses mead s adolescence and sexual traits. The book
also reviews several other anthropological reports all around the area. The way in
which the author reveals the state of the art is quite confusing although the method of
revelation is satisfying. The section of the book helps to explain into details the
dynamics of the anthropological field since Margret Mead left.
The book has been written when the anthropology field is undergoing critical
technological advancement. It is aimed at reaching generations that are experiencing
problems with self identification, power and over ambitious objectives. This post
modern anthropology insists that the outside is of importance just like the inside
(Strathern 1988:65). The foreign culture in the report has been disregarded due to
lack of proper authenticity and instead the ethnography front page space has been
taken over by the backstage field workers and self questioning commentary.
The author of the book has two conflicting set of ideas that she wishes to relay in her
writing. She at first communicates messages on consciousness but at the same time
writes a post modernized book about anthropology. The issues she attempts to address

Summary Of The Souls Of Black Folk By W. E. B. Dubois
During the 20th century, colored people in America were seen as a problem.
However, there were civil rights activists like William Edward Burghardt Du Bois
who recognized the problem and advocated for reconstruction. In The Souls of Black
Folk, W.E.B. Du Bois analyzes African American history, culture, and social standing.
Unlike Booker T. Washington, Du Bois discussion of African American
culture like
the concept of double consciousness reflects his broader political and scholarly
agenda of promoting political rights and higher education to fight black
oppression. Du Bois begins by explaining how African Americans experience
double consciousness, which describes how one faces the challenge of having
more than one social identity, which in this case is being both African and
American in America. For example, Du Bois recalled that his first experience of
double consciousness occurred when he was just a kid and students at his school
were exchanging cards. He states, The exchange was merry, till one girl, a tall
newcomer, refused my card, refused it peremptorily, with a glance (2). This incident
shows how the white girl looked through the veil and only recognized Du Bois skin
color, and Du Bois in return only saw the negative side of white people. Du Bois

Since whites did not want to teach them, African Americans decided to educate

they wiped out the illiteracy if the majority of the black people of the land, and they
make Tuskegee possible (60). This quote implies that when given the opportunity to
do so, blacks can succeed educationally just as well as whites. Therefore, another
part of Du Bois scholarly agenda is to educate African

Technology And Its Effect On Education
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
Despite recent efforts in innovation, the rise of technology and the consistent
changing of pedagogy, a range of studies have recently shown that students may be
exiting the schooling system because of the disconnect between this system and the
new digital world which digital natives (ref) have become accustomed to in their
formative years.
A number of papers have pointed to the disconnect, disassociation and discontent of
students and their perception of the provision of education and its quality in relation
to digital transcendence and pedagogy (Dede, 2005a; Denham Gadbow, 2002;
Geraci, 2005; Howe Strauss, 2000; O Neil, 1995; Oblinger, 2003; Strauss, 2005;
Zemke, 2001).
So what has changed so dramtically? How have we come to a point where students
feel so disaffected that leaving the learning environment altogether seems the only
viable option? Recent deficits in student outcomes in traditionally held values of
literacy and numeracy have led some schools across state, private and international
sectors to adopt new focus on these areas, under very traditional measures, but with
little success or improvement in educational outcomes. (ref needed) (Sawchuk, 2009).
Some studies have suggested that schools have perhaps shown concern of the
proliferation of technology, and in some cases, a perception by staff that the
technology is little more than a simplistic tool and that the educational outcomes have
been limited or non existent. (ref

no less than four percent and no more than five percent Acetic Acid, we will
determine the Acetic Acidcontent of a sample of the vinegar in question through
titration. After standardization of our titrant, which in this case will be NaOH, we will
use this along with the indicator Phenolphthalein, to titrate the vinegar to determine
the concentration of Acetic Acid in the sample.

this clearly shows a result outside the provided guidelines, it is possible that the

Pros And Cons Of The Volunteer Army
Markets are not the best way to achieve a just society. They often allow the wealthy
to have more freedoms and greater opportunities.
This leads to the poor being disproportionately represented in the military, and the
very rich are severely underrepresented in the military. The volunteer army may not
be as voluntary as you would think, if taken into consideration the circumstances of
the men and women filling the vast majority of the military positions. The men and
women filling these positions often come from low to middle income
neighborhoods, and join out of economic necessity. While young men and women
from upper class backgrounds have opted out of military service. Only 9 students
out of Princeton s 2006 class, which had 1,108 students in it, enlisted in the
military. There are similar trends to be seen all across America in elite universities
and in our capital. Only 2% of Congress have a son or daughter enlisted in the
military. Congressman Charles Rangel, a democrat who opposed the Iraq war,
believes that the war never would have happened if the children of policymakers had
to bear the burden of fighting it. The volunteer army is unfair, because of class

Conscription is the solution to inequalities such as these. Conscription would make it
fair among the economic classes, so that everyone would be fairly represented
throughout our military. Serving our

Abstract
Selling high end electronics is big business and being a commissioned employee
in that field if your sales are up means big money. Prices for electronics range from
the low hundreds into the thousands. It really depends on the person style,
specifications they are looking for, trust in the brand, and the depth of their pockets,
how much a person is willing to spend for example on a that high definition led
plasma television that is 52 inches. No matter the cost, businesses want to keep a
track of the sales of their employees and how much they are getting paid. In this case
a high end electronics store wants to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The coding that was used to find information on commissions paid to employees was:
SELECT Employee.*
FROM Employee, Invoice
WHERE (DepartmentID =2);
The asterisk next to employees indicates that all the information under the employee
table was used to generate the search. In this query information was pulled from the
employee and invoice tables. The WHERE function more specifically states the
department which can be changed and it would generate new information. The query
currently only shows employee commission information for employees who work in
department two (see attachment).
If the finance department wanted to find the total compensation paid to each
employee in the same month as the first query a slightly different query would be run
to generate that information. The first code simply pulled the information and did not
include and computation because the finance department only requested to be able to
determine as in pull up the record for employee s commission paid. The second code
will include computation which will divide the yearly salary by twelve months then
multiples the commission rate by the total amount of product sold and lastly add
those two numbers together to get the total compensation for that month.
Unfortunately the coding that I am using is not generating a proper result. However,
it should look something like this:
SELECT Employee.EmpNumber, Employee.EmpFirstName,
Keurig
Brewing excellence, One cup at a time.
Keurig in Dutch means excellence. It is the leading single cup brewing system in
North America. The U.S. annual per capita consumption of coffee was estimated to
be 424 servings, which included in home and out of home roast and ground, instant,
and ready to drink
(bottled/canned) coffee.2
The total coffee market in 2008 was estimated to be 1.8 billion pounds, or $19.3
billion. 3
While specialty coffee was only about 17 percent of total domestic coffee
consumption by volume, the sector had grown to over half the value of the U.S.
coffee industry. 5
The specialty coffee market was estimated to be worth
$11 billion annually.

Keurig evolved from its traditional away from home, business to business (B2B)
product offering, served through KADs, to a new line of at home, business to
consumer (B2C) products. Keurig contracted ePartners, a Microsoft based software
and services consultancy, to design and implement a system consisting of an
integrated suite of products. The complete solution included a system based on
Microsoft Dynamics GP(formerly Great Plains), Microsoft Commerce Server, The
Great Plains Siebel Front Office, and Microsoft SQL Server. System included a
highly customized, easy to use, and professional B2B and B2C e commerce site
with full integration to Great Plains and Great Plains Siebel Front Office. The hosted
nature of the system allowed Keurig to keep IT costs low, maintain high availability,
and focus on selling Keurig systems. The IT system served as the foundation for
Keurig s ongoing business and allowed Keurig to keep pace with the tremendous
growth it continued to experience.
The Green Mountain Coffee was good with their prestige, channels, manpower and
marketing experience, Keurig came into an agreement with them in 1997. Keurig
kept the licensing for K cup that gave them four to five cents per cup almost pure
profit. This plan gave Keurig good profits, cash flows but lower sales.
GMCR and Keurig sold the system through select distribution channels. The system

Analysis Of Mitsubishi Motors North American, Inc.
This essay analyses the advance in Mitsubishi Motors North American, Inc.
(MMNA) as a result of technology influencing customer interface and service in the
automotive industry. In particularly, it is the adoption of a Customer Relationship
Management (CRM) solution into customer service field in this company. The
automotive industry is facing a pressing challenge that is digitalization and
increasing competition (IBM 2004, p. 1). On the other hand, customer loyalty is
declining, and brand differentiation is even harder to achieve (Christine 2012).
MMNA is not an exception as its customer service index was under industry average
with the number of 841 in 2005 (J.D.Power 2005, p. 3). To remain the company s
competitive, MMNA had impeded a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It then examines the CRM solution overviews, its adoption in MMNA Inc. as well
as the pros and cons of this solution facing by the company. These issues would be
briefly introduced and defined as below: Robbins external environment analysis

Call Centre adoption in MMNA and its efficiency. Problems in adopting the CRM
solution and recommendation. Auto retailers were considered to be doomed by the
Internet as a result of increasing competition from online car selling services. The
most important and challenging for auto dealers is that while still demanding
traditional car buying experiences, customers want to modify their options in
various situations (Collins 2002). Under this pressure, CRM solutions have long
been identified as a crucial practice since it can provide better targeted
communication, increase professionalism and speed of implementation as well as
ensure cost effective (Capgemini 2008, p. 6). On the other hand, Siebel System Inc.,
a CRM software provider, estimates automotive potential at $1.4 billion in 2015
(Automotive News, 2015). Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) Inc. is a
typical example in deploying a CRM solution in customer interface and service.

How Did The Erie Canal Change America
Establishing Erie Canal Change
Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree then it will
live its whole live believing that it is stupid. (Albert Einstein) Beginning in 1817 and
opened in its entirety in 1825, the Erie Canal is considered the engineering marvel of
the 19th century. When the government concluded that the project was too ambitious
to undertake, the State of New York took on the task of carving 363 miles of canal
through the wilderness with nothing but the muscle power of men and horses. The
question that I will attempt to answer in this essay is How did the Erie Canal change
America? The creation of the Erie Canal would lead to a Jurassic change on America
in the way we trade, and will lead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first piece of evidence that shows any sign of women getting their rights is
when the Underground Railroad stations ran right along the pathway of the Erie
Canal and triggered women forcing themselves into communities and realizing how
disrespected they were being treated. However, since women did not have very
many right they could not make a difference about it. According to Catherine A.
Brekus article Female Preaching in Early Nineteenth Century America women began
working against the grain and started to rebel against them not being able to do any
of the things men can and started with preaching in churches secretly. Eventually,
women did not need to keep it a secret because some churches actually began
allowing women to preach instead of men. In the article, from the National Park
Service, it is stated that along the stations of the Underground Railroad a conference
was made to discuss Women s Rights. During this convention, of sorts, 300 people
responded to discuss Women s Rights. This convention will lead to the Women s
Rights movement after the Civil War, and World War II.
Given these points, it is safe to say that the Erie Canal effect America by its way of
trading, leading to the abolishment of Slavery, and lead to the Women s Rights
movement. So it is important to reflect on fantastic achievements like this because
when history repeats itself, which it always
Rotter s Locus Of Control Scale Test Analysis
Rotter s Locus of Control Scale Test, is a test that measures the belief of controlling
outcomes in people s lives. The Locus of Control Scale test divides control into two
categories; internal and external. People with internal control believe that their
actions decide outcomes in their lives, while people with external control believe that
outcomes are beyond their control, which they can t influence. In the following essay,
the results of my Locus of ControlScale Test will be discussed, along with the effects
of control on my leadershipbehavior and how my control responds to different
leadership styles.
Based on the results from Rotter s Locus of Control Scale Test, my locus of control is
internal. Which means, I believe that my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a leader, my internal locus of control drives me to always be improving. Since I
have an internal locus of control, I don t need outside influences to motivate me.
Passion, and drive comes from within and I know the actions I take will have a
direct effect on my outcome. When I lead, I know that my actions will have a direct
effect on my outcome, either positively or negatively. Due to having self awareness, I
am accountable for my actions and place a high importance on making correct
decisions.
In management, nothing happens without engagement, and goals are not reached
without motivation. A Laissez Faire management style may just get bye, but nothing
will ever progress. A Laissez faire management style is directly related to an
external locus of control. This type of management would believe they are unable to
control, or influence the performance of employees, therefore there is a belief that
results will happen on their own. When the results are not achieved, this type of
manager will not take responsibility for poor results. Instead, this manager would
blame his followers for not completing a task successfully. This laissez faire
management style is in direct conflict with a leader with an internal locus. A leader
with an internal locus would engage with his followers, continually work at the
development of each individual, and take full responsibility for unsuccessful results.
Another leadership style is

Toxoplasma gondii, Joan Ng Kiat Yee: BM304 revision guide 2015
The physiology, metabolism, biochemistry
Toxoplsama gondii is an intracellular apicomplexan parasite that forms cyst
coccidian in warm blooded animals, primarily in the Felida domestic cats (Shannon
et al., 2015). The organism also causes a wide range of diseases in different
intermediate hosts, ranging from animals, such as mammals and birds to human
(Astrid et al., 2000). In human, this parasite poses serious threat by causing a disease
called Toxoplasmosis (Parasites, 2015).
The parasite exits through the faeces of cats. Within the cat s intestinal epithelium, T.
gondii parasite undergoes gametogenesis and mating. This leads to the generation of
oocysts containing sporozoites that are the shed in the cat s faeces, which could
readily infect new host cells (Joanne et al., 2013).

Pit Bulls Be Banned, And Euthanized
Every day in the United States, there are pit bulls be banned, and euthanized. Dog
Shelters are overfilled with pit bulls. There are approximately 937 cities in the
united states that has some sort of a Breed Restriction legislation. To me this is
absurd! People are getting these dogs and are training them to fight. It s so wrong.
Pit bulls are so discriminated against now because how people are training these
dogs to fight. Every time I hear about a dogfight or seeing a pit bullchained up makes
me really upset. I m tired of it. How would those people feel if they were treated like
that? I personally love Pit bulls, but some people don t. I personally own a brindle pit
bull named Boosie. I always say how a dog turns out depends on their owner. I had
my dog ever since he was a puppy, and I raised him very well. He s so sweet and
loving. I don t see how people would want to ban pit bulls?
Pit bulls have a lot of history. Pit bulls been bred for human companionship, and
since the 1900s, they have been bred for conformation showing as well. Pit bulls
have been used as farm dogs, family dogs, military mascots, and all purpose
companions. In England, the Staffie Bull is known as the The Nanny Dog or The
Children s Nursemaid because of their placid and nurturing demeanor toward
children. They say Regardless of how gentle your dog is, all dogs of any breed
should never be left alone unsupervised with children .Throughout their history in
America, pit bull dogs have
The Witch And Witchcraft
For many centuries, witches have been around. The meaning of the word witch has
changed over time. Before, it was a gender neutral term but it is now associated
with women. There are different types of witches and they each had different
powers. The word witch came from the word Wicca which is an old English word
and slowly, it was changed to wicked by the Catholic Church. For as long as it was
around, witches and witchcraftwere looked at negatively and those who practiced
witchcraft were poorly treated. Despite the time difference and geographical areas,
there were similarities in how women, witches, and those who were accused were
treated. Treatment towards witches was influenced by oral stories, experiences, and
pop culture.
The word Wicca means wisdom. The witches were turned to when one needed
help. Witches of different types used spells, magic, and potions. Many had feared
witches, especially the Catholic church. Slowly the meaning was changed to
wicked. Some types of witches included witch doctors, Halloween witch,
seductress or sire, Wiccan, voodoo witch, satanist, and many more. A witch doctor
and voodoo witch are someone who uses power to heal and protect against other s
magic. A Halloween witch is is a stereotypical witch that is portrayed as the
complete opposite of what a woman should be, and is represented as an ugly, old,
evil, hag. A seducing woman who uses her looks as a mean to lure one in is a
seductress or sire. A Wiccan is one who practices the old religion and believes in the
power of the Earth. One who worships the Devil is a satanist. Harmless or not,
witches and those accused of witches were poorly treated. In different places,
treatment was similar. Treatment included beatings, imprisonment, and death. Many
were accused, outed, interrogated, shamed, arrested, tortured, segregated, or killed.
Anyone and everyone could be accused but the major targets were women, widows,
the poor, the elderly, those who used herbal remedies, and those with knowledge in
medicine and astrology.
In Africa, specifically Northern Ghana, women were terrorized when accused of
witchcraft ( Witches In Exile ). Women who were accused were cast from their
family, sent to witch camps, and were abused or even
Women s Rights Dbq
1848 is thought to be the year the women s rights movement finally kicked off due
to a conference held in New york. Before this women had to face many injustices
these including the inability to vote, the right to take money from the bank and the
right to run for public office these were only some of the hardships women had to
face during this era in time. They weren t seen as able bodied human beings and were
thought to be inferior to men hence is the reason women couldn t do anything on
there own without a man. The years 1880 through 1890 was the turning point for the
women s suffragemovement There was a surge of volunteerism among women. They
started women s clubs, and professional societies. They also participated in local

Civil Rights Movements and The Greensboro Sit-ins
The Start of it All On Monday, February 1st, 1960, the Woolworth Store would no
longer just be a store anymore. That day the Woolworth store in Greensboro, North
Carolina would be known as the very first sit in. The Greensboro sit ins played a
major role in the Civil Rights Movements. The three huge sit ins were Greensboro
North Carolina, Nashville sit ins, and the Oklahoma sit ins. The sit ins that started it
all were the Greensboro, North Carolina. The date of this sit inis February 1, 1960.
The time was at about noon, one o clock. There was were four boys that started the
sit in. Their names were Joseph McNeil, Franklin McCain, Ezell Blair Jr, and
David Richmond. The location was Greensboro, North Carolina. The boys didn t
really plan this sit in ahead of time, they just walked into the store and sat down
waiting for their service, but they never got it. People knew about the sit ins about
twenty four hours later. Once the very first sit in happened that day, it was just
organized from then on. People knew to come in more and more every day. The
consequences that the boys all the other people had to deal with were unreal. The
things that were done were just crazy. They had things thrown at them like ketchup,
mustard, and other condiments. Things were said and they were very derogatory. It
was mean and harsh, but the students just stood or sat there and took all of the
things people said. Those four kids set an example for the rest of their lives. The way
that the

Music To Write Essays To. Sample Music Essay PDF Rhythm Musical Compositions

  • 1. Music To Write Essays To Exploring the nuances of crafting an essay on the theme of "Music To Write Essays To" is a venture into the intricate relationship between two art forms. At first glance, the topic seems like a harmonious marriage of creativity and inspiration, promising a seamless blend of musical notes and written words. However, delving deeper reveals the challenge inherent in this task. One primary obstacle lies in the subjectivity of music preferences. What resonates as an inspiring melody for one person may sound discordant and distracting to another. Selecting a universal soundtrack that serves as a catalyst for writing becomes an intricate dance between personal tastes and the need for broad appeal. Moreover, the vast spectrum of musical genres, from classical symphonies to contemporary beats, adds layers of complexity to the selection process. Attempting to capture the essence of music in written form poses its own set of challenges. Describing the emotive power of a particular composition demands a delicate balance between analytical precision and the expressive language required to convey the auditory experience. The risk of falling into the trap of overreliance on adjectives or resorting to clichГ©s is ever-present, requiring a writer to navigate the fine line between poetic description and concrete analysis. Furthermore, the connection between music and the writing process is deeply personal. Writers may find themselves grappling with the challenge of translating an abstract and emotional experience into concrete and coherent prose. The danger of veering into tangential reflections or losing the essay's focus while exploring the sensory impact of music is an ever-present concern. In conclusion, crafting an essay on "Music To Write Essays To" demands a delicate dance with subjectivity, an adept handling of diverse musical tastes, and a nuanced approach to articulating the profound influence of music on the writing process. It is an endeavor that requires the writer to navigate through the symphony of challenges while orchestrating a harmonious interplay of words and melodies. • 2. Pseudonymous Writing Introduction: Pseudonymous Writing in the Ancient and Present Times Pseudopigrapha is a type of writing where the author uses a different name for several purposes. It has been practiced in numerous educational disciplines. In the earlier part of history, there are two types of pseudonymous writing that was employed. The first type is when the author uses an assumed name to remain anonymous and the second type is when an author uses the name of another author. The pseudonymous writingis widely used for varied reasons, mostly with honest intentions. The second type of pseudopigrapha is known as forgery, and through the course of history, its definition and function has evolved. In ancient times, forgery is an honorable practice of writing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, several factors have to be considered. The considerations are needed to be put in place is to put forgery in the accurate context. In the ancient times when copyright laws are not yet enforced, forgery is an acceptable practice. Taussig argued that committing forgery is not rooted in fraudulence but inferred as an honorable convention. Further, Ehrman synthesized the use of forgery to empower the teachings of an influential individual, synonymous to Paul s clout in the early Christianity. Having these occurrences in mind, we can then maintain the trustworthiness of the Deutero Pauline Epistles in the same value as we put on the epistles that were penned by Paul himself. Learning these cogitations, it is important that we look at the message of the epistles and its significance in the formation of the faith tradition. Although the abovementioned epistles are written by different individuals (other than Paul), they have augmented the theology that was taught by Paul. The epistles were written in the context of the audiences that they were intended, because of this, forgery did not connote any negative feedback on its teachings. In this light then, it more important to focus on the message that Deutero Pauline Epistles convey than to look at
  • 3. Hydraulic Fracture Case Study In grid based models, the fracture is propagated through a fixed grid. This idea was used in early 2D hydraulic fracture simulators (Settari 1980) where when the stress normal to the fracture plane exceeded the tensile strength, the fracture extended into a new grid cell. Therefore, grid based models were suitable for coupling with reservoir simulators and geomechanics codes (Ji, Settari, and Sullivan 2009). 3D grid based models were extended to deal with multiple fractures, for example, the MultiFrac Placement Pseudo 3D (MLF P3D) model (Dontsov and Peirce 2015). These models are very complex being capable of simulating multiple hydraulic fractures simultaneously propagating from multiple perforation intervals where each perforation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2015). The Unconventional Fracture Model (UFM), developed by Cipolla et al. (2010), considers the effect of natural fractures, stress distribution, and influence of the mechanical properties of fracture morphology (Cipolla et al. 2010). The UFM model can simulate the propagation of asymmetric fracture networks accounting for fluid flow in the fracture network and elastic deformation of the fractures. The initial assumptions and governing equations (fluid flow in the fracture network, mass conservation and fracture deformation) are similar to the conventional P3D model (Weng 2015). Passey et al. (2010) claimed that there is a large variability in lithology between shale plays and even within a single shale formation (Passey et al. 2010). Britt and Smith (2009) emphasized the importance of geomechanics and the state of stress of a shale play for a successful hydraulic fracturing stimulation (Britt and Smith 2009). In addition, Rickman et al. (2008) stressed that the mechanical rock properties, such as brittleness and mineralogy, are fundamental in completion designs. While ductile shale tend to restore any fracture formed, brittle shale often have natural fractures which react to hydraulic fracturing (Rickman et al. 2008). In general, the Young s Modulus of the shale measured parallel to the bedding plane is greater than that measured perpendicular to the bedding plane. Sone and Zoback (2013) explained the role of anisotropy on the
  • 4. Personal Narrative-Pussy Cock Pussy lips were pulled apart, stretched like latex around my gigantic glans. She slammed her hips back, I shoved my monstrous organ forward. Schl pop! Aaauuugh! Fuck! she cried as my cock s crown stretched her out. I felt pressure as her cunt got even tighter. Estelle s whole body shuddered. Splisch! Boiling hot juices sprayed around my cock s girth and dripped down her legs. The silky tunnel massaged my glans. We aren t even getting started, Ms. Borgelin, I chuckled. Fout myed. Ugh. You Japanese bastard. she stuttered. Give me more! I didn t answer her. I gripped her hips and began to rock my own, grunting as my cock s enormous head began to grind inside her, helping to loosen her up. The walls of her pussy began to yield to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another mystery tearing. I could feel my own heat swirling madly around my organ as I emptied my balls, the lovely sensation of liters and liters of my own sperm raging like a storm. I noticed the teacher s eyes blearily refocusing. I grabbed Estelle s head and turned it to the side. She let out another howl as she saw how big she was growing, belly spilling over her lap. Mmmf! Aaauugh! She began to convulse through another messy orgasm. SCHHRRIIPP! The purple cloth over her back split in half and pulled in front of her, abruptly exposing her upper body and the fact that she had worn no bra. Slap! her belly smacked and bounced against her legs, filling her lap as she filled mine. It took me a moment to realize what had happened ... the dress just couldn t keep up with her belly! Semen rolled down, forming a pool atop the leather between my legs and creeping along till it dripped down the front of the couch. Soon, she looked like she had a yoga ball in her belly. Splurt. Splurt. I felt my balls finally release the last dregs of my load. I sighed in satisfaction, sinking into the chaise. Estelle rolled forward and collapsed atop her belly. But she did manage to look back over her shoulder and say, Mmmgh. Call.

Cryptozoology simply is The study of evidence tending to substantiate the existence of, or the search for, creatures whose reported existence is unproven, as the abominable snowman or the loch ness monster. (dictionary.com) Cryptozoology is an amazing and interesting and very useful scientific study. The term Cryptozoology was coined by John Wall. The final amendment passed during the Reconstruction time period was the Fifteenth Amendment in 1870, and, not surprisingly, the Fifteenth Amendment met mass backlash, as did the Thirteenth and Fourteenth. Up until 1870, there was still an important practice that black people were not allowed to take part in: voting. A government cannot be a democracy unless the whole population votes, but the 1868 election was still denying two large groups the ballot: African Americans and females. Radical Republicans thought that black enfranchisement would be ideal because freedmen would vote for the Republicans, and Ulysses S. Grant, the Republican nominee, would have enough support to win the election. They wanted to overpower Southerners and Democrats. The Fifteenth Amendment declared that no man born in the United States could be denied the right to vote. Once again, Southerners were infuriated because blacks would surely vote for the Radical Republicans. Additionally, now blacks could vote but ex Confederates could not. Because of their frustration of the Fifteenth Amendment, Southern legislatures made new state laws to restrict black voting. African Americans would have to pass these obstacles in order to vote. The Grandfather Clause allowed people to vote if their grandfathers were able to vote in their days. Since blacks were just enfranchised, no African Americans had grandfathers who could vote. If their grandfather could not vote, the citizen (a black or poor white) would have

In 1960 plans were made to make the back bay a large marina with houses right along the water. It was also founded to help bring attention to the ecological importance of the Bay and to help try and ensure its survival. Infinitely far from grasping the extremes, the end of things and their beginning are for him invincibly hidden in an impenetrable secret; and he is equally incapable of seeing the nothingness out of which he is drawn, and the infinite in which he is swallowed up. (Pascal 5) Pascal views the human condition through a substantially dark, pessimistic perspective. He believes man holds an incredibly insubstantial position in the world, for he is limited in all respects and merely occupies a sort of mid position between nothing and everything (Pascal 7). Man lives a short life that stands as a mid point between the eternity that precedes him and the eternity that will follow him. Man has no way of knowing for certain what came before him or what will come after him; after all, how could such a small, fragile, perishable, and limited thing have any certain knowledge of anything vast, imperishable, and unlimited? The nature of man is to be nothing more than a part of a whole, and if man studied himself, he would see how incapable he is of going beyond himself (Pascal 8). Man, according to Pascal, refuses to accept his puniness and limitations. We refuse to accept that our very nature is minuscule and limited in the grand scheme of eternity. Is not the duration of our life still infinitesimal within eternity, even if ten years be added to it? (Pascal 8). Unlike the infinite, we are finite, perishable

However, there were civil rights activists like William Edward Burghardt Du Bois who recognized the problem and advocated for reconstruction. In The Souls of Black Folk, W.E.B. Du Bois analyzes African American history, culture, and social standing. Unlike Booker T. Washington, Du Bois discussion of African American culture like the concept of double consciousness reflects his broader political and scholarly agenda of promoting political rights and higher education to fight black oppression. Du Bois begins by explaining how African Americans experience double consciousness, which describes how one faces the challenge of having more than one social identity, which in this case is being both African and American in America. For example, Du Bois recalled that his first experience of double consciousness occurred when he was just a kid and students at his school were exchanging cards. He states, The exchange was merry, till one girl, a tall newcomer, refused my card, refused it peremptorily, with a glance (2). • 38. Technology And Its Effect On Education CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Despite recent efforts in innovation, the rise of technology and the consistent changing of pedagogy, a range of studies have recently shown that students may be exiting the schooling system because of the disconnect between this system and the new digital world which digital natives (ref) have become accustomed to in their formative years. A number of papers have pointed to the disconnect, disassociation and discontent of students and their perception of the provision of education and its quality in relation to digital transcendence and pedagogy (Dede, 2005a; Denham Gadbow, 2002; Geraci, 2005; Howe Strauss, 2000; O Neil, 1995; Oblinger, 2003; Strauss, 2005; Zemke, 2001). So what has changed so dramtically? How have we come to a point where students feel so disaffected that leaving the learning environment altogether seems the only viable option? Recent deficits in student outcomes in traditionally held values of literacy and numeracy have led some schools across state, private and international sectors to adopt new focus on these areas, under very traditional measures, but with little success or improvement in educational outcomes. (ref needed) (Sawchuk, 2009). Some studies have suggested that schools have perhaps shown concern of the proliferation of technology, and in some cases, a perception by staff that the technology is little more than a simplistic tool and that the educational outcomes have been limited or non existent. The organism also causes a wide range of diseases in different intermediate hosts, ranging from animals, such as mammals and birds to human (Astrid et al., 2000). In human, this parasite poses serious threat by causing a disease called Toxoplasmosis (Parasites, 2015). The parasite exits through the faeces of cats. Within the cat s intestinal epithelium, T. gondii parasite undergoes gametogenesis and mating. • 51. The Witch And Witchcraft For many centuries, witches have been around. The meaning of the word witch has changed over time. Before, it was a gender neutral term but it is now associated with women. There are different types of witches and they each had different powers. The word witch came from the word Wicca which is an old English word and slowly, it was changed to wicked by the Catholic Church. For as long as it was around, witches and witchcraftwere looked at negatively and those who practiced witchcraft were poorly treated. Despite the time difference and geographical areas, there were similarities in how women, witches, and those who were accused were treated. Treatment towards witches was influenced by oral stories, experiences, and pop culture. The word Wicca means wisdom. The witches were turned to when one needed help. Witches of different types used spells, magic, and potions. Many had feared witches, especially the Catholic church. Slowly the meaning was changed to wicked. Some types of witches included witch doctors, Halloween witch, seductress or sire, Wiccan, voodoo witch, satanist, and many more. A witch doctor and voodoo witch are someone who uses power to heal and protect against other s magic. A Halloween witch is is a stereotypical witch that is portrayed as the complete opposite of what a woman should be, and is represented as an ugly, old, evil, hag. A seducing woman who uses her looks as a mean to lure one in is a seductress or sire. A Wiccan is one who practices the old religion and believes in the power of the Earth. One who worships the Devil is a satanist. Harmless or not, witches and those accused of witches were poorly treated. In different places, treatment was similar. Treatment included beatings, imprisonment, and death. Many were accused, outed, interrogated, shamed, arrested, tortured, segregated, or killed. Anyone and everyone could be accused but the major targets were women, widows, the poor, the elderly, those who used herbal remedies, and those with knowledge in medicine and astrology. In Africa, specifically Northern Ghana, women were terrorized when accused of witchcraft ( Witches In Exile ). Women who were accused were cast from their family, sent to witch camps, and were abused or even
