Affirmative Action Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of affirmative action can be quite challenging for several reasons.
Firstly, the subject itself is highly controversial and multifaceted, encompassing issues of race,
gender, equality, justice, and socio-economic disparities. Navigating through these complex
layers requires a nuanced understanding of historical contexts, legal frameworks, and societal
attitudes, which can be daunting to grasp comprehensively.
Secondly, crafting an effective essay on affirmative action demands thorough research to gather
credible and diverse sources that represent various perspectives. It's essential to delve into
academic journals, legal documents, sociological studies, and opinion pieces to present a well-
rounded analysis. However, sifting through this extensive pool of information and synthesizing
it into a coherent argument requires time, patience, and critical thinking skills.
Moreover, addressing the ethical implications and practical implications of affirmative action
adds another layer of difficulty. Balancing the ideals of fairness and justice against the need for
remedying historical injustices and promoting diversity challenges even the most adept writers.
Engaging with opposing viewpoints and counterarguments while maintaining a persuasive stance
further complicates the task.
Additionally, ensuring clarity, coherence, and conciseness in articulating thoughts and ideas is
crucial in essay writing. Effectively structuring arguments, providing evidence-based support,
and maintaining a logical flow of ideas are essential components that require meticulous attention
to detail and strong writing skills.
In conclusion, composing an essay on affirmative action demands a thorough understanding of
its complexities, extensive research, critical analysis, ethical considerations, and adept writing
skills. It is a challenging endeavor that requires dedication, patience, and intellectual rigor to
produce a well-crafted and insightful piece of work.

Bradycardia Case Studies
In some cases, heart disease can lead to an irregular rhythm or rate of the heartbeat
known as an arrhythmia. (American Heart Association, 2014) While arrhythmias for
the most part are harmless, there are some cases where they can be very severe and
potentially fatal. The reason for this being that arrhythmias can affect the amount of
bloodthe heartis able to pump. Arrhythmias can be categorized into three main
groups. These groups are known as tachycardia, bradycardia, and irregular rhythm of
the heart. (National Institutes of Health, 2011) When a heart beats too fast it is
known as tachycardia. This fast heart rate is specifically caused by abnormal
electrical signals in the atria interfering with the hearts pacemaker, resulting... Show

This group of arrhythmias include atrial fibrillation, ventricular fibrillation,
premature contraction, conduction disorders, and more. If you want to find out
more about these less severe causes of irregular heartbeat, you can find more
information here. The two most serious cases of irregular heartbeat are atrial and
ventricular fibrillation. Ventricular fibrillation is the quivering of the lower
chambers of the heart that are used to pump blood out of the heart. (AHA, 2014)
When these quiver, the heart is unable to pump any blood, which causes cardiac
arrest. Atrial fibrillation, on the other hand, is the quivering of the upper two
regions of the heart that move blood into the ventricles. (AHA, 2014) The main
worry when dealing with atrial fibrillation is the increased risk of stroke. When the
atria quiver as opposed to a regular contraction, it causes some blood to remain
stagnant in the chamber. This allows a blood clot to form. If this clot gets pumps
out of the heart and moves up into the brain, a stroke will occur. Because of this,
many people with atrial fibrillation are put on blood
The Headstrong Historian By Kurt Vonnegut
A short story about a dystopian future in which everyone is equal and a short story
about a Nigerian family reclaiming their history, on the surface, seem unalike, but
Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Burgeron and Chimanda Ngozi Adichie s The Headstrong
Historian bear a strong resemblance when further examined. Harrison Burgeron and
The Headstrong Historian , while seemingly different stories, share many similar
themes and ideas. While Harrison Bergeronmainly considers people s concept of
equality this is not the central theme of The Headstrong Historian . They both delve
into the theme of oppression.
Vonnegut wrote Harrison Burgeron in 1961 while Adichie wrote The Headstrong
Historian in 2008. Vonnegut s short storywas written in the midst of the Cold War,
suggesting a potential connection to the ideas of communism and socialism. Adichie
is a writer famous for her work in which she closely examines African culture. On a
surface level, these stories could not seem more different.
Harrison Burgeron and the Headstrong Historian obviously have completely
different settings. The beginning of Harrison Burgeron informs the reader that it
takes place in the United States in the year 2081. The majority of The Headstrong
Historian takes place in West Africa in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Harrison
Burgeron takes place in a society where change seems to be nowhere in sight. In The

Mobile is better than AT T because of network and cost reasons. My claim is
supported with facts from many articles and personal experience. It is preferable
because of its nationwide coverage, plans, benefits, and prices. T Mobile offers
sometimes offers the same plan or more valuable plan for a cheaper price. T
Mobile also has plans or benefits AT T does not offer or have. T Mobile is
preferred over AT T because they have the nations largest 4G LTE network, the
fastest nation wide network as I read on (tmonews.com). Also in the article

plans, different payment plans, and offers you cants resist. T Mobile has a lot of

Taking a Look at Politics in Thailand
Political chaos , protesting , turmoil , and crisis are all words that can be linked to
Thailand in recent weeks and on and off over the last eight years. From November
2013 until February 2014, there was constant distress throughout the country relating
to the current political system and the leaders of Thailand. People were flooding the
streets in Bangkok to protest the government or waving Thai flags to show support of
Thailand.
All across Thailand people were upset with the government and showing it by
protesting in the capital city of Bangkok. The reason for this unrest to spread
through the country is an amnesty bill proposed to the parliament of Thailand. This
bill would allow the self exiled former, Prime Minister Thaksin to return to Thailand
without being punished for the crimes he had been charged of. The current Prime
Minister Yingluck is actually Thaksin s sister and many people feel she does
whatever Thaksin asks her to do. Thaksin was part of an extremely corrupt
government and thousands of people were angered when they heard that he could be
allowed back into the country as a free man.
The role of the King of Thailand is important to understand the different priorities
of the protesters. The current King is beloved by all in Thailand and he is
respected as much as the gods in their religion. If anything bad is said about the
King, the speaker can be given a jail sentence. The King does actually have power,
unlike the queen of England. As the
Advantages to the Industrial Revolution in Early Modern...
Prior to industrialization, the population of Europe saw a dramatic growth from
110,000,000 to 190,000,000. What triggered this growth? Likely the end of
feudalism. The end of feudal contracts gave people a little more say in their day to
day working activities, resulting in more time spent at home, which ultimately
resulted in childbearing. This would leave citizens scrambling both to provide needs
for the populationas a whole, and to improve the individuals overall quality of life.
This resulted in economists, like Adam Smith in The Wealth of Nations (1776),
examining the most cost effective method of producing the goods and services
citizens demanded (such as clothing and food). It also left others, such as Thomas
Malthus in his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was essential because the population boom that occurred from 1650 1800,
where population climbed from 110,000,000 to 119,000,000, created the need for
materials food and clothing to be produced faster to sustain growth. Machines such
as the scribbling mill, and spinning jenny did the work of a hundred hands, for
every single human hand. Initially these machines were met by workers with
despair, as one machine in twelve hours could do the work of ten men by hand .
These machines also reduced labour by a third, which resulted in an increase in
wage for workers and it also worked to increase trade since nations were about to
compete with one another for cheaper resources . From an economic standpoint this
shift in labour was beneficial to the masses because instead of people exerting
themselves to compete with other nations, machinery could just take on the majority
of the work, assisting in this movement. This benefitted business owners because
they did not need as many labourers, and they could also afford to lower taxes.
Smith declares the invisible hand as a necessity for society because capitalism drives
people to seek cheaper sources, and in return if you provide that you will ultimately
gain wealth.
Adam Smith wrote in The Wealth of Nations that division of labour was the greatest
improvement resulting from the industrial revolution. Division of labour was
beneficial to both the employee and the employer. The
War Of The Roses Essay
The outcome of the battle of Bosworth Field on August 22nd, 1485, has long been
one of great controversy. It marked the end of one of the bloodiest civil wars in
England s history, and the dawning of the much acclaimed Tudor era. Bosworth
raises many a question regarding the ideas of loyalty and honour in the latter years
of the medieval age. Upon which side of the battle field, if either, did true betrayal
lie? The infamous War of the Roses saw families torn apart and brother turn against
brother in a mad scramble to claim the English throne. How much did those years
of bloodshed effect the decisions value of loyalty to one s king or lineage? This

Over the course of his lifetime he changed his loyalties at least four times. Each
time could easily be construed as purely for personal advantages. Like his father
and namesake, Lord Thomas seemed to prefer waiting out conflict in order to
emerge on the winning side. He did this not once, but twice during Yorkist rule.
Familial ties with Warwick did not stop him from siding with Edward IV, nor did
rewards from Richard III keep him from sitting out for the king s final battle. Lord
Thomas was motivated by personal gain and this strategy served him well. He was
well rewarded by a grateful, and possibly insecure, Henry VII with lands and offices
that included the much coveted properties of the now deceased Yorkist Harringtons

Narrative Vs Native American Culture
Narratives are inherently intimate in their expression. Especially in oral storytelling,
this can be seen by the immense control the storyteller has on the actual story. A
storyteller can shape his own story through his imagination, or he can mold a story
he s heard to fit within his ideals. Good storytellers can improvise, add and delete
details of a narrativebased on the crowd he s telling it to, and mold it into
personalized experience. In this case, the narrative is influenced by both the
storyteller and the listener, and they can act as a border to contain the ideas
presented in the narrative. Even when the narrative is disparate from the reader, the
reader still has immense control over his overall narrative experience. A reader can...

Their cultural biases can affect how they look at a story and how they pose it to
others. For example, in the story Kochinnenako, the English version s structure
version varies greatly from the Indian s version. In the Native American s version,
there is a focus on balance and harmony, in which the plot is focused on the revival
and maintenance of the harmony between summer and winter. The structures of the
sentences are short and simple, as the emphasis on description of events rather than a
subject and an object. Also the story doesn t linger long with any characters,
highlighting the coherence and importance as the tribe as a whole. This contrasts
greatly from how the Western version is told. Western individualism creeps into the
plot. Now the protagonist becomes summer, the antagonist becomes winter and the
Kochinnenako becomes the plot. The plot revolves around the fight between good
and evil, good personified as the warm, embracing, and strong summer and against
the harsh, cold, and bitter winter. The plot also introduces a romantic aspect, where
summer saves Kochinnenako from winter, and breaks the marriage imposed by the
tribe. The Western s masculine individualistic view differs greatly from the feminine,
socialistic view of the original story, and greatly alters the

FOLATE DEFICIENCY ANEMIA (Chapter 28, Module 4) Folate (folic acid) is a
B vitamin essential for normal production and synthesis of DNA and RNA within
a maturing erythrocyte (red blood cell). Folate deficiency is the lack of folic acid in
the blood which can cause megaloblastic anemia (Folate deficiency anemia) in
which the red blood cells are abnormally large and the inner contents not completely
developed. The absorption of folate occurs primarily in the upper small intestine and
is then circulated through the liver for storage. The daily requirement of 50 to 200

Clinical management Treatment Evaluation of folate deficiency is based on
measurement of serum folate levels and symptoms (McCance, 2010). Treatment is
determined based on patient age; overall health; medical history; extent of disease;
patient tolerance for specific medications, procedures, or therapies; expectations for
course of disease; and patient opinion or preference of treatment. It may include
vitamin and mineral supplements, a change in diet including decreasing or
eliminating alcohol intake, medication, and treatment of the causative disease. Once
the deficiency is corrected, typically long term treatment is unnecessary as long as
an appropriate diet is maintained (McCance, 2010). Works Cited Alterations in

Machiavelli And Socrates
Although both are considered some of the greatest political and philosophical
thinkers of their respective times, Socrates and NiccolГі Machiavelli had very
different methods and beliefs of how a political system should be run. The mindset
of Socrates can be seen in the works Apology and Crito by Plato. Socrates, who
values wisdom and justice over power and prestige, would view Machiavelli s
concept of a Prince very contradicting to how he believes a good life should be lived.
In his work, The Prince, Machiavelli details how a prince should rule and maintain
power. Socrates would not be supportive of Machiavelli and his Prince s political
system because it is rooted in unethical behaviors. Machiavelli views these actions as
virtues... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To Machiavelli, the true virtues of a prince should be stinginess, cruelty, and
manipulation. He takes traditional Christian virtues, which most see as good, and
criticizes them, saying they are vices and hurtful to a prince.
Socrates ideal Prince is much different than that of Machiavelli. Socrates found great
power in his analysis of Athens, rather than direct involvement. Through questioning,
reason, and critical analysis he attempts to instill wisdom, truth and virtue in Athens,
specifically in the youth. He was charged with corrupting the youth because his idea
of how life should be lived was much different than that of the states. Socrates
corrupted the youth of Athens because he degenerated or undeveloped them from
becoming strong political, economic, and military leaders. The people of Athens, in
particular the wealthy and powerful, wanted their children to be educated in ideals
that Machiavelli would support. It was the job for these privileged youth to learn
how to be strong leaders so the city could run smoothly in the future and Socrates
was undermining this structure. If the youth Socrates was teaching were treated as a
counterpart to Machiavelli s Prince, a difference in ideals and teachings can be
found. Machiavelli teaches his Prince how to maintain power at all costs, while
Socrates teaches his students to put aside the concept of materialistic power such as

A long concert tour spanning three and a half years followed, taking the family to the
courts of Munich, Mannheim, Paris, London, The Hague, again to Paris, and back

great number of musicians and acquainted himself with the works of other
composers. A particularly important influence was Johann Christian Bach, whom
Mozart visited in London in 1764 and 1765. The family again went to Vienna in
late 1767 and remained there until December 1768. These trips were often
arduous. Travel conditions were primitive;[10] the family had to wait for
invitations and reimbursement from the nobility.[11] They endured long, near
fatal illnesses far from home: first Leopold (London, summer 1764)[12] then both
children (The Hague, autumn 1765).[13] After one year in Salzburg, father and
son set off for Italy, leaving Wolfgang s mother and his sister at home. This travel
lasted from December 1769 to March 1771. As with earlier journeys, Leopold
wanted to display his son s abilities as a performer and a rapidly maturing

Analysis Of Delta Airlines Flight 1086 Landed On Runway
Essay
On March 5, 2015, Delta Airlines flight 1086 landed on runway 13 at La Guardia
Airport (KLGA); shortly afterwards skidding off the runway and coming to rest on a
coastal embankment. While investigating the accident it was found that there were
many contributing factors that led to the runway excursion by the aircraft, all of
which could have been prevented with better crew resource management.
A factor that led to the MD 88 to veer of the side of the runway was the poor
decision making process that was used to land at La Guardia. At the time of arrival
the weather was low visibility, accumulating snow and ice fog. While enroute the
flight crew continually monitored the weather at LGA to assess the landing
performance. The flight crew referred to Delta s contaminated runway crosswind
limitations and recognized that the crosswind would be at Delta s 10 knot limit if
the runway braking action was reported to be medium/poor. The controller asked
them if they could accept the ILS runway 13 approach? The first officer replied
asking for braking action in which the controller had no reports on it at the time
due to snow removal and no aircraft were landing. By 1037, the flight crew
received a message on the ACARS from dispatch about runway 13/31 closure. Turns
out the runway was closed for snow removal operations at KLGA. At this point in
time, the pilots seemed to be surprised to have received this message after the
controller just asked them if they could accept an approach to

Top Of Form Governments Spying On Us
Top of Form Governments Spying on us According to the journalist Arthur Baxter
Technology has brought great advances and conveniences, but it also comes with the
cost of privacy (TNW News). We have seen many examples about governments
spying on people or spying on other countries. Perhaps the most important and the
easiest way that enables governments to spy is by using people s information on
social media, bank accounts, by satellite surveillance, and help from some companies.
This, however, is a stain on all governments that pursue this approach, and to all
companies that help the governments spying on people. The governmentcould spy on

Through a coordinated effort, RSA worked with law enforcement, the intelligence
community, and other commercial entities.
RSA s actions stand in contrast to many corporations that do not acknowledge
breaches of sensitive information systems for fear of alarming shareholders and
exposing the corporation to lawsuits (Gross, 2011). Even when evidence points to
nation state involvement (most often China), many companies still refuse to
acknowledge breaches. The fear of offending the Chinese and jeopardizing their share
of that country s exploding markets is reason enough to remain quiet (Gross). Despite
mounting evidence, the U.S. government, for its part, has been fecklessly
circumspect in calling out the Chinese (Gross).
Incident Recovery
Recovery after the breach at RSA was not limited to the RSA environment. Due to the
widespread implementation of RSA tokens across industry and government agencies
(and its contractors) the breach had far reaching implications across multiple sectors.
In an attempt to mitigate potential attacks on its customers environments related to
the stolen information, RSA outlined nine steps customers could take to harden their
IT infrastructures and reduce their chances of being breached (Gov InfoSecurity).
While the recommended steps were followed by defense contractor Lockheed
Martin, they were later breached in an attack related to the initial RSA breach

they exercised regularly, produced lower scores on the Multiple Affect Adjective

of both sexes, with the average age being 15.6 years of age. However, this study
found that the female participants reported a greater amount of change in depression,
anger, exhaustion, anxiety and confusion, following the nine week study. Although
the male subjects did see improvements in their psychological states, the female
participants were slightly better off. Another study conducted by Brollier et al.

with in their study, all were able to gain some benefit from the aerobic exercise of
jogging. All the participants reported less depressive symptoms, as well as enhanced
energy, and a better self concept in general.
Although there have been a few studies conducted in the area of exercise and
depression, almost all the studies have used aerobic exercise as their independent
variable, with only a few
Neuroscience Personal Statement
My interest in Neuroscience began with the exposure to learning brain structures and

TARGET MARKETING MEANING, BASIS AND ITS NEED
It is not possible for a marketer to have similar strategies for product promotion
amongst all individuals. Kids do not get attracted towards products meant for adults
and vice a versa. Every segment has a different need, interest and perception. No two
segments can have the same ideologies or require a similar product.Target Marketing
refers to a concept in marketing which helps the marketers to divide the market into
small units comprising of likeminded people. Such segmentation helps the marketers
to design specific strategies and techniques to promote a product amongst its target

This creates four places of action or further into the story four places of conflict. It
all stays true to the original time period and helps transport the audience back to
1950s Australia. The main feature of this set was the beautiful white but not
completely opaque curtain which surrounded the stage. When coupled with Nigel
Leving s lighting design created wallpaper like effect to surround the space which
is later destroyed to connect with the climax of the play. Although it drew you into
the space in the beginning once characters started to enter and exit you notice that
the curtain alludes to a greater world beyond the living room. To signify the end of
Act II and the beginning of Act III the architraves of the room were lifted from 3 to
6 metres to create an empty area to help show that after the fight between Barney
and Roo all the characters felt isolated and created a stark reality of a house with
no life. The costuming also done by Runciman was a gentle connection to the

Lysistrat Comedy Of The Same Name And Spike Lee
The character of Lysistrata in both Aristophanes comedy of the same name and Spike
Lee s 2015 film Chi Raq is a uniquely powerful female character who, through sheer
willpower and intelligence, forges peace between two diametrically opposed forces
that have devastated their respective communities. Both stories offer an interesting
journey of seeking peace in the midst of desperation. Aristophaneswrites of a woman
trying to bring an end to the destructive Peloponnesian Warbetween Athens and
Sparta while Lee s version of Lysistrataaims to bring peace between two gangs
whose fights routinely spill into Chicago s streets, killing many innocent people in
the crossfire. In fact, despite the radical difference in setting, both versions of the
story share a numerous amount of similarities in terms of plot and theme.
However, I will argue that Spike Lee s tale is, like Aristophanes , trying to instill a
message about the need for peace, but also telling a story of self development with
regard to Lysistrata herself. The Ancient Greek version of Lysistrata was nearly
mythic, commanding the respect of her peers almost without question. By contrast,
modern day Chicago Lysistrata has to grow into the role of leader, gradually
waking up to the severity of the chaos of her home then making the effort to push
for accord. Making this version of the heroine more human allows Spike Lee to
create a model for ordinary people in this era to take charge and put an end to
senseless suffering in

The U.S. has a tough stance when it comes to terrorism, especially in regions where
terrorist groups look to take advantage of a people or a situation. In this paper I

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula were formed and what effects they have in the
region as well as the implications to American policies and interests in the Horn of

In our opinion, the first alternative to this issue, since the medical advice said that

The Persecution And Assassination Of Jean Paul Marat
In The Persecution and Assassination of Jean Paul Marat as Performed by the
Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton under the Direction of the Marquis De Sade,
Peter Weiss placed a historic revolutionary setting inside of a chaotic insane asylum.
Sex and violence dominate revolution, madness blends with reason, and political
ideologies battle head to head while the plot unfolds. Marat/Sadefocuses on a play
authored by the Marquis de Sadeinside of the play itself. Weiss, writing in the voice
of Sade, could not ignore the sexual perversions of the historical figure, which
allowed for the shocking violence and sexualization that can be found within the play.
Under the inflated political rhetoric among the two leading ideologists, Jean Paul
Maratand the Marquis de Sade, the story is one about the French Revolution.
Specifically, Marat/Sade tells the story of the murder of Marat by Charlotte Corday.
Sade s characterization of Corday as the sexualized female begins with the Herald
s introduction of her. His description predominately includes her physical features.
Her phenomenally pulchritudinous appearance includes stylish shoes and a cloth
around her neck. Only a thin veil covers her otherwise exposed breasts. These
images appear in the first introduction of Corday and create conflict for the woman
portraying her, as well as affect Sade s character of Corday in her carrying out of
the plot to kill Marat. However, the effect on the latter is not a negative one. The

Sun Dance Analysis
The American prison system currently represents a state of growing insecurity as
inmates arrested for minor offenses receive harsh punishment resulting in solitary
confinement. In light of reports indicating that prolonged solitary confinement
produces severe psychological damage equivalent to experiencing torture, former
American Indian Movement (AIM) leader Leonard Peltier demonstrates an exception
by establishing a personal connection with indigenous spirituality. Despite how many
inmates within the American prisonsystem collapse under prolonged duress while in
solitary confinement, the experiences described by Peltier suggest that reliance on

Sun Dance provides indigenous communities with strength as they experience
hardship (Shrubsole 6). Having a spiritual connection with Sun Dance suggests that
while spirituality may provide a sense of personal security, its potential to change an
entire political system placing severe constraints on movement and freedom remains
in conflict with Christian norms. However, the relationship between indigenous and
Christian spirituality in Prison Writings suggest that sacrificing oneself to achieve
personal security represents a more engaging and wholly satisfying process (Peltier
11). Despite how Peltier lived for twenty three years in solitary confinement, his
experiences suggest an even further exception of living by Christian norms
subjugating indigenous people to decades of colonial rule. Though Peltier felt
isolated from other inmates while living in solitary confinement, his connections to
indigenous spirituality indicated the capacity for demonstrating resistance against

modernisation and corruption. In Brideshead Revisitedthe same pattern appears to be
followed; moving from the peaceful harmony of Sebastian and Charles life in

Waugh describes their first encounter with the girls at May Mayfield s as a sickly
child and Death s Head , names foreshadowing the downfall and deterioration that
will result. It is as a result of this night that Sebastian is arrested and tried for drunk
driving, and introduces them to the realities of adult life. It is because of this episode
that the Marchmain family are shamed in the newspaper, perhaps worsening Lady
Marchmains over reaction to Sebastian s drinking later in the novel. This illustrates
clearly how even in these youthful days that Charles cherishes so much, there was
chaos which corrupted the serene life with Sebastian which he chooses not to dwell
on.
Waugh presents corruption in terms of the hierarchy of society, with the nobility
exclusively privileged to positions of power, as nought but as negative through his
portrayal of Hooper. Charles states in the prologue that Hooper is a symbol to me
of Young Britain ; notably Hooper is not presented as an overly inspiring,
promising or likeable character. The use of young has connotations of the working
class were just coming of age and beginning to have the means to hold positions of
power and influence, as well as suggesting a major change in the Britain; an old
way of life has been left to be replaced by a new one. It could be argued that Charles
is presenting the traditional world as being corrupted with the changing, modernised
world.

The Effectiveness of the Criminal Justice System in...
The reservation of the Convention on the Rights of a Child (CROC) had played
invaluable role in charging the way in which young offenders are dealt with within
the Australia Criminal Process. Including the introduction of the theory known as
Doli Incapax meaning the age of criminal reasonability, the Young Offender Act
1997 NSW as well new law regarding the rights of a child once they have been
arrested. It is evident that these while some of charges are still ineffective in dealing
with Young Offenders within the Criminal JusticeSystem the majority of them are in
place for the greater good and are assisting young offenders when it relates to the
Criminal Justice System.
Doli Incapax is just one of the ways in which children are now treated more equally
under the law. According to the theory it is presumption that children are incapable
of having criminal intent which in terms means that children under the age of 10
are unable to be charge with any criminal offence and when relating to children 10
to 13 the prosecution make be able to show that the child at the time of the alleged
offence actually know what they were doing was seriously wrong. According to

There s Someone From Our Own Backyard
There s Someone in Your Backyard Many people are afraid of house burglaries,
because there is an unidentified person breaking into their home and taking their
precious items. But most people do not even think about the fact that the friends and
family they invite into their home can steal from them too. The media and politics in
America has made the American people believe that our number one terrorist threats
come from the Middle Eastand are Muslims, but in all reality, most terrorists have
come from our own backyard. Within the last six years there have been twenty
major terrorist attacks. Only three of the attacks came from people who identify as
Middle Eastern. Fifteen attacks were done by people who identify as American. So
my question is why is our country so afraid of Middle Easterners, and why are we
blaming them for our mistakes? The idea of Middle Easterners being our number one
terrorist threats stems from the 9/11 terrorist attacks. On September 11, 2001 Islamist
extremist hijacked planes there were flying over the United States. Two of them flew
into the Twin Towers and another flew into the Pentagon. This attack was one of the
biggest attacks ever. After it happened much of the media and politics did not have
many positive thoughts towards Middle Easterners. A lot of Americas Security got
stricter especially Transportation Security Administration (TSA). TSA made it harder
for just anybody to get into an airport by only allowing a person with a ticket passed

V.Religion and Aesthetics In Honduras, Christianity is the prevalent religion. 97%

The sique and mascaro are the two main types of folk dances in Honduras (Painter,

Many of the citizens are farmers because of the amount of land accessible to farm

Analysis Of Literary Analysis In Ulysses By Lord Alfred...
Literature and poetry in particular have the potential to make profound impressions
on their readers. In the poem Ulysses by Lord Alfred Tennyson, the speaker Ulysses
argues for his mariners to come back out to sea. Karen Prior s article How Reading

hand, Tennyson makes his argument through Ulysses, as he talks to his mariners
while Prior makes her argument to teachers of higher of education. While Tennyson
and Prior both use rhetorical situations to persuade their audiences, Prior connects
to her audience better by citing compelling and exhaustive research, eliciting
sympathy from her audience through her narrative voice, and establishing her
credibility by using personal examples and research. Prior s uses captivating
evidence in her article in order to persuade the audience that reading makes one

to be better able to understand other people, empathize with them and view the
world from their perspective (para. 2). With the use of notable research, the reader
starts to question if reading does make one more human. Prior then goes on to use
research done by the director of the Center for Reading and Language Research. The
director Maryanne Wolf states, the fragility of the brain s ability to read with the kind

All these are the basic focuses of department. 1.2.2 High Efficiency Irrigation Systems
In crop production the irrigation water is the most critical factor to enhance its
productivity and also effective use of other non water inputs. There is inefficient use
of available resources in agriculture field in Punjab province and on other hand
Punjab is encountering severe shortage of irrigation water from many decades. It is
causing much lower agriculture productivity while Punjab is highly productive
resource base of Pakistan. High efficiency irrigation systems (HEIS) resulted in
finding water and nutrient efficient options and most appropriate ways to address
various crop production related issues.
1.2.3 Types of HEIS
There are number of High efficiency irrigation system methods such as bubbler ,
drip , rain gun, center pivot , conventional sprinkler all these methods involve use
of pipes for carrying water from the source to points of use. Small emitters in form
of droplets are being used in drip or trickle irrigation which provide water to
individual plants without causing waste of water. Bubbler irrigation is as well
similar to trickle irrigation the difference is only that instead of pipe in this form of
system we use micro sprinklers mounted on small spikes. Only in rain gun irrigation
system water is being pumped at high pressure via piped system and then after
sprayed over the field.

Prevention and infection control is very critical for all health care settings. There are
many activities that can be performed in order to limit the spread of infection and to
provide a safe and controlled environment for not only the patients but also the staff
and visitors at any healthcare facilities. Hand hygiene (HH) in the healthcare setting
is considered as an important infection control measure in the prevention of HAIs

Nurses are required to learn, understand and follow the correct technique of hand
washing since they are the ones that spend the most time with the patients. Raising
awareness to hand washing is very important to help control infection and reduce
mortality rates. It is one of the most effective methods to prevent cross
contamination. CDC has set guidelines for healthcare workers to follow to give an
understanding of the when it is necessary to wash hands in a health care setting.
Hand washing not only is important in a health care facility, but also equally
important everywhere from ones home to a public place in order to control infection
Gestational Crates Should Not Be On Factory Farms
Gestational crates should not be on factory farms. Gestational crates limit the pigs
movement so much that the mothers are stuck on there sides when there are
pregnant and can not move to eat or go to the bathroom. Gestational crates should
not be on factory farming. In this essay I will talk about how gestational crates abuse
the pigs that are put in them, how the mother pigs are treated on these farms and how
free range farming is better for the animals. I think that gestational crates should not
be on factory farms.
I think that gestational crates should not be on factory farms. I think this because it
is not good for the pregnant mother pigs because they can t get off their sides and
have to sit in their own feces. They also can t get

Song of Solomon Quotation Explication Test
3.The passage from Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison describes Milkman s
confrontation with his mother, Ruth, at the cemetery. Before, Macon has convinced
Milkman to be disgusted of Ruth because of Ruth s supposed affair with her father
and Ruth s nature as a sexual deviant. One day, Milkman follows Ruth to see with
his own eyes the proof that Ruth is a sexual deviant, and Milkman is led to the
cemetery. Milkman confronts Ruth whom reveals that she did not have an affair with
her father. Ruth says, No. But I did kneel there in my slip at his bedside and kiss his
beautiful fingers, which contradicts Macon s account of what happened. Ruth, fully
clothed, only kissed the hands of her mother. Ruth did not strip naked and kiss her
father on the mouth like Macon said. Then, Milkman points out Ruth s nursing of ...

This passage from the Song of Solomon describes Lena s confrontation with Milkman
after Milkman ratted out Corinthian s relationship with Porter to Macon which led to
Macon breaking up the relationship and evicting Porter from the apartments. The
passage says, When you slept, we were quiet; when you were hungry, we cooked;
when you wanted to play, we entertained you. Lena has had enough of catering to
Milkman and Milkman pissing on everyone. Lena and Corinthian has slaved away
for Milkman s comfort without a single thank you, and they developed a strong
sisterly bond as a result. So, when Milkman ruined Corinthian s relationship, it was
the last straw for Lena and she wanted Milkman out of the house. Milkman was
trying to be a better persona and calmly said, Lena, cool it. I don t want to hear it.
However, Milkman came out as apathetic and uncaring to Lena who replies that the
only reason Milkman has the right to decide our lives is due to the that hog s gut
that hangs down between your legs. Proving that while Milkman is starting to realize
his faults and is trying to change, Milkman still has a lot of

Assessing Risk Of Manipulating Over Financial Reporting
Using of M Score formula in assessing risk of manipulating over financial reporting.
Financial statement audit is very important in the functioning of our economy and
society expects auditors to exercise due care in their work.
Many readers of financial statements believe that auditors have a responsibility to
detect all errors, fraud and illegal acts. This is not true. The auditor has a
responsibilities to plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about
whether the financial statements free of material misstatement, whether caused by
error or fraud.
Based on knowledge of the entity and it is environment, the auditor should assess risk
of material misstatement at the assertion level and determine the audit procedures ...

In this paper I will discuss mostly about misstatement from manipulating of financial
reporting.
The auditor performs the following steps to identify the risks of material
misstatement due to fraud:
Discussion among the audit team members regarding the risk of material
misstatement due to fraud
Inquire of management about the views on the risk of fraud and how it is addressed
Consider any unusual or unexpected relationship identified during analytical
procedures in planning the audit
Understand period end closing process and investigate unexpected period end
adjustments
Three conditions are generally present when material misstatements due to fraud
occurs:
1)Management or other employees have an incentive or are under pressure that
provide a reason to commit fraud
2)Circumstances exist that provide an opportunity for a fraud to be carried out
3)Those involved are able to rationalize committing a fraudulent act.
Management has the ability to perpetuate a fraud because it is in a position to
directly or indirectly manipulate the accounting records and prepare fraudulent
financial reports. In most cases also involves some management override of controls.
Risk factors that may suggest that management have incentive to manipulate financial
reporting:

Similarities Between Sharks And Squids
Organisms need oxygen in order to survive because oxygen is necessary for any
living organism to perform primary cellular respiration. Organisms use Oxygen to
oxidize fats and sugars which in turn generates energy.
Squid and Sharks require special respiratory and circulatory systems because they are
complex organisms that require more energy to live. These more complex gill
structures maximize the amount of oxygen that sharks and squid can obtain from the
ocean. On the other hand, Sea stars are much simpler organisms that don t use much
energy throughout the day, therefore they are able to survive on diffusion alone and
can focus the extra energy that isn t used to power a complex respiratory or
circulatory system to a different part of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While Squid uses a lot of energy throughout the day in order to move escape
getting eaten, they are relatively light and don t use up as much energy when
compared to Sharks. This is because Sharks are very heavy and dense fish, as well
as apex predators. This requires lifestyle means that sharks use much more energy
than squids do, therefor Sharks must absorb more oxygen from the water on a daily
basis than squids do. In order to do that, Sharks gills are equipped with a
countercurrent exchange system, in which the blood flow from the gills goes against
the flow of the water passing through the gills. This system maximizes the amount of
oxygen the sharks can absorb into their bloodstream, which in term maximizes the
amount of energy the sharks can produce through cellular respiration. If the Sharks
gills weren t equipped with the countercurrent system, and the blood flowed in the
same direction as water passing through the gills, the sharks would only be able to
absorb about 50% of the oxygen in the water, due to the fact that the water and the
blood would reach equilibrium. All in all, the countercurrent system allows for sharks
to move fast and hunt other big strong animals despite their dense and heavy

Authority In The Florentine Republic
During the Italian Renaissance and particular in the Florentine Republic, the Roman
Catholic Church had a strong influence on the state and regarded the relationship
between moral good governance and legitimate authority highly. In contrast during
this period NiccolГІ di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (1469 1527) an official in the
Florentine Republic from 1498 to 1512, consisted that there is no moral basis on
which to judge the difference between legitimate and illegitimate uses of power.
When the Medici was out of power Machiavelli was involved in diplomatic and
military affairs. Arrested and tortured in 1513, accused of conspiracy against Medici
family, an important historian, politician, diplomat, philosopher, humanist, and
writer; but best known today as the founder of modern political science and political
ethics. Declared by Pope Leo Strauss a teacher of evil (Leo Strauss) when writing

Index of banned books in 1559. In The Prince he criticizes the moralistic view of

My First Time Of Life
When given the choice to make yourself happy or another, humans will often
choose to make themselves happy. Take the first time when my parents separated,
I was only four. I really didn t understand why my dad was gone. I only knew that
every night when I went to bed and every morning when I woke up, he wasn t in
the same house as me. I went and saw him every other weekend, he lived with my
grandma. I don t remember much from those visits only that I would cry and
scream when I had to leave. He would put me in my car seat and my brother would
get in the car like it was a normal part of life. I tried to hold onto him, I often
pleaded with him to come home. It emotionally scarred me, no one at the age of four
should go through that. When my dad left my mom it tore apart the life I knew. My
once happy familyno longer was connected. I remember distinctly the crying and
screaming of my mom. She never hid how sad she was from us. Sometimes she
would sit on the floor in our bedroom and scream out how much she wanted to die.
I really didn t know how to react to it. I recall crying a lot, especially when she said
things about killing herself. I was worried that if she did then I would have to live
without any parents. Because when my dad left my mom, I thought he left me too
and didn t love me anymore. Even at the age of four I asked questions. Things like,
When is daddy coming home? or Why did daddy leave us? All I would get is

Hel Williams Analysis
In chapters five and nine, Williams indicated that the goals of writing include leaving
the reader with a solid understanding of the main idea from beginning to end. Readers
should clearly understand what the writers are writing about and how to get from
point to point. An excellent essay should include an introduction, a body and a
conclusion that ties together.
A cohesive paper is like cement; you pour it into a mold to take shape. As the paper
forms, it all should come together without confusion. The article should make sense,
flowing, without shifty sentences and scattered words, not flowing in the direction
intended. Thus, this can be done with active instead of passive verbs. Williams
indicated that in a cohesive paper the writer needs to make the last few words appear
in the first few words of one set of information (69). When diagnosing and revising
sentences, the writer needs to identify if the reader feels comfortable with the text.
Understanding common words and content as oppose to new and unfamiliar writings
can become a challenge. Therefore, a balance of old and new principles within a
paper can be accomplished by introducing the main character, in the beginning, this ...

Cohesion allows multiple references to people, things, and events without
reintroducing them throughout the text. A coherent passage focuses the reader s
attention on the main ideas and the particular people, things, and events.
A topic sentence usually comes at the beginning of a paragraph and lets the reader
know what to expect from each section. It is like a preview for a movie or headline
in a newspaper, highlighting the main point presented in that paragraph. Williams
suggested a process to diagnose and revise topic sentences. Just like identifying the
subject verb in chapters 3 and 4, underline the first seven to eight words in the
sentence and determine how many words pass before a verb or clause

  • 1. Affirmative Action Essay Writing an essay on the topic of affirmative action can be quite challenging for several reasons. Firstly, the subject itself is highly controversial and multifaceted, encompassing issues of race, gender, equality, justice, and socio-economic disparities. Navigating through these complex layers requires a nuanced understanding of historical contexts, legal frameworks, and societal attitudes, which can be daunting to grasp comprehensively. Secondly, crafting an effective essay on affirmative action demands thorough research to gather credible and diverse sources that represent various perspectives. It's essential to delve into academic journals, legal documents, sociological studies, and opinion pieces to present a well- rounded analysis. However, sifting through this extensive pool of information and synthesizing it into a coherent argument requires time, patience, and critical thinking skills. Moreover, addressing the ethical implications and practical implications of affirmative action adds another layer of difficulty. Balancing the ideals of fairness and justice against the need for remedying historical injustices and promoting diversity challenges even the most adept writers. Engaging with opposing viewpoints and counterarguments while maintaining a persuasive stance further complicates the task. Additionally, ensuring clarity, coherence, and conciseness in articulating thoughts and ideas is crucial in essay writing. Effectively structuring arguments, providing evidence-based support, and maintaining a logical flow of ideas are essential components that require meticulous attention to detail and strong writing skills. In conclusion, composing an essay on affirmative action demands a thorough understanding of its complexities, extensive research, critical analysis, ethical considerations, and adept writing skills. It is a challenging endeavor that requires dedication, patience, and intellectual rigor to produce a well-crafted and insightful piece of work. • 2. Bradycardia Case Studies In some cases, heart disease can lead to an irregular rhythm or rate of the heartbeat known as an arrhythmia. (American Heart Association, 2014) While arrhythmias for the most part are harmless, there are some cases where they can be very severe and potentially fatal. The reason for this being that arrhythmias can affect the amount of bloodthe heartis able to pump. Arrhythmias can be categorized into three main groups. These groups are known as tachycardia, bradycardia, and irregular rhythm of the heart. (National Institutes of Health, 2011) When a heart beats too fast it is known as tachycardia. This fast heart rate is specifically caused by abnormal electrical signals in the atria interfering with the hearts pacemaker, resulting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This group of arrhythmias include atrial fibrillation, ventricular fibrillation, premature contraction, conduction disorders, and more. If you want to find out more about these less severe causes of irregular heartbeat, you can find more information here. The two most serious cases of irregular heartbeat are atrial and ventricular fibrillation. Ventricular fibrillation is the quivering of the lower chambers of the heart that are used to pump blood out of the heart. (AHA, 2014) When these quiver, the heart is unable to pump any blood, which causes cardiac arrest. Atrial fibrillation, on the other hand, is the quivering of the upper two regions of the heart that move blood into the ventricles. (AHA, 2014) The main worry when dealing with atrial fibrillation is the increased risk of stroke. When the atria quiver as opposed to a regular contraction, it causes some blood to remain stagnant in the chamber. This allows a blood clot to form. If this clot gets pumps out of the heart and moves up into the brain, a stroke will occur. Because of this, many people with atrial fibrillation are put on blood
  • 3. The Headstrong Historian By Kurt Vonnegut A short story about a dystopian future in which everyone is equal and a short story about a Nigerian family reclaiming their history, on the surface, seem unalike, but Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Burgeron and Chimanda Ngozi Adichie s The Headstrong Historian bear a strong resemblance when further examined. Harrison Burgeron and The Headstrong Historian , while seemingly different stories, share many similar themes and ideas. While Harrison Bergeronmainly considers people s concept of equality this is not the central theme of The Headstrong Historian . They both delve into the theme of oppression. Vonnegut wrote Harrison Burgeron in 1961 while Adichie wrote The Headstrong Historian in 2008. Vonnegut s short storywas written in the midst of the Cold War, suggesting a potential connection to the ideas of communism and socialism. Adichie is a writer famous for her work in which she closely examines African culture. On a surface level, these stories could not seem more different. Harrison Burgeron and the Headstrong Historian obviously have completely different settings. The beginning of Harrison Burgeron informs the reader that it takes place in the United States in the year 2081. The majority of The Headstrong Historian takes place in West Africa in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Harrison Burgeron takes place in a society where change seems to be nowhere in sight. • 5. Taking a Look at Politics in Thailand Political chaos , protesting , turmoil , and crisis are all words that can be linked to Thailand in recent weeks and on and off over the last eight years. From November 2013 until February 2014, there was constant distress throughout the country relating to the current political system and the leaders of Thailand. People were flooding the streets in Bangkok to protest the government or waving Thai flags to show support of Thailand. All across Thailand people were upset with the government and showing it by protesting in the capital city of Bangkok. The reason for this unrest to spread through the country is an amnesty bill proposed to the parliament of Thailand. This bill would allow the self exiled former, Prime Minister Thaksin to return to Thailand without being punished for the crimes he had been charged of. The current Prime Minister Yingluck is actually Thaksin s sister and many people feel she does whatever Thaksin asks her to do. Thaksin was part of an extremely corrupt government and thousands of people were angered when they heard that he could be allowed back into the country as a free man. The role of the King of Thailand is important to understand the different priorities of the protesters. The current King is beloved by all in Thailand and he is respected as much as the gods in their religion. If anything bad is said about the King, the speaker can be given a jail sentence. The King does actually have power, unlike the queen of England. As the
  • 6. Advantages to the Industrial Revolution in Early Modern... Prior to industrialization, the population of Europe saw a dramatic growth from 110,000,000 to 190,000,000. What triggered this growth? Likely the end of feudalism. The end of feudal contracts gave people a little more say in their day to day working activities, resulting in more time spent at home, which ultimately resulted in childbearing. This would leave citizens scrambling both to provide needs for the populationas a whole, and to improve the individuals overall quality of life. This resulted in economists, like Adam Smith in The Wealth of Nations (1776), examining the most cost effective method of producing the goods and services citizens demanded (such as clothing and food). It also left others, such as Thomas Malthus in his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was essential because the population boom that occurred from 1650 1800, where population climbed from 110,000,000 to 119,000,000, created the need for materials food and clothing to be produced faster to sustain growth. Machines such as the scribbling mill, and spinning jenny did the work of a hundred hands, for every single human hand. Initially these machines were met by workers with despair, as one machine in twelve hours could do the work of ten men by hand . These machines also reduced labour by a third, which resulted in an increase in wage for workers and it also worked to increase trade since nations were about to compete with one another for cheaper resources . From an economic standpoint this shift in labour was beneficial to the masses because instead of people exerting themselves to compete with other nations, machinery could just take on the majority of the work, assisting in this movement. This benefitted business owners because they did not need as many labourers, and they could also afford to lower taxes. Smith declares the invisible hand as a necessity for society because capitalism drives people to seek cheaper sources, and in return if you provide that you will ultimately gain wealth. Adam Smith wrote in The Wealth of Nations that division of labour was the greatest improvement resulting from the industrial revolution. Division of labour was beneficial to both the employee and the employer. The

It marked the end of one of the bloodiest civil wars in England s history, and the dawning of the much acclaimed Tudor era. Bosworth raises many a question regarding the ideas of loyalty and honour in the latter years of the medieval age. Upon which side of the battle field, if either, did true betrayal lie? The infamous War of the Roses saw families torn apart and brother turn against brother in a mad scramble to claim the English throne. Familial ties with Warwick did not stop him from siding with Edward IV, nor did rewards from Richard III keep him from sitting out for the king s final battle. Lord Thomas was motivated by personal gain and this strategy served him well. Especially in oral storytelling, this can be seen by the immense control the storyteller has on the actual story. A storyteller can shape his own story through his imagination, or he can mold a story he s heard to fit within his ideals. Good storytellers can improvise, add and delete details of a narrativebased on the crowd he s telling it to, and mold it into personalized experience. The structures of the sentences are short and simple, as the emphasis on description of events rather than a subject and an object. Also the story doesn t linger long with any characters, highlighting the coherence and importance as the tribe as a whole. This contrasts greatly from how the Western version is told. Western individualism creeps into the plot. Now the protagonist becomes summer, the antagonist becomes winter and the Kochinnenako becomes the plot. The plot revolves around the fight between good and evil, good personified as the warm, embracing, and strong summer and against the harsh, cold, and bitter winter. Machiavelli And Socrates Although both are considered some of the greatest political and philosophical thinkers of their respective times, Socrates and NiccolГі Machiavelli had very different methods and beliefs of how a political system should be run. The mindset of Socrates can be seen in the works Apology and Crito by Plato. Socrates, who values wisdom and justice over power and prestige, would view Machiavelli s concept of a Prince very contradicting to how he believes a good life should be lived. In his work, The Prince, Machiavelli details how a prince should rule and maintain power. He takes traditional Christian virtues, which most see as good, and criticizes them, saying they are vices and hurtful to a prince. Socrates ideal Prince is much different than that of Machiavelli. Socrates found great power in his analysis of Athens, rather than direct involvement. Through questioning, reason, and critical analysis he attempts to instill wisdom, truth and virtue in Athens, specifically in the youth. He was charged with corrupting the youth because his idea of how life should be lived was much different than that of the states. Socrates corrupted the youth of Athens because he degenerated or undeveloped them from becoming strong political, economic, and military leaders. The people of Athens, in particular the wealthy and powerful, wanted their children to be educated in ideals that Machiavelli would support. It was the job for these privileged youth to learn how to be strong leaders so the city could run smoothly in the future and Socrates was undermining this structure. If the youth Socrates was teaching were treated as a counterpart to Machiavelli s Prince, a difference in ideals and teachings can be found. Machiavelli teaches his Prince how to maintain power at all costs, while Socrates teaches his students to put aside the concept of materialistic power such as wealth and

During this trip, Mozart met a great number of musicians and acquainted himself with the works of other composers. A particularly important influence was Johann Christian Bach, whom Mozart visited in London in 1764 and 1765. The family again went to Vienna in late 1767 and remained there until December 1768. These trips were often arduous. Travel conditions were primitive;[10] the family had to wait for invitations and reimbursement from the nobility.[11] They endured long, near fatal illnesses far from home: first Leopold (London, summer 1764)[12] then both children (The Hague, autumn 1765).[13] After one year in Salzburg, father and son set off for Italy, leaving Wolfgang s mother and his sister at home. Analysis Of Delta Airlines Flight 1086 Landed On Runway Essay On March 5, 2015, Delta Airlines flight 1086 landed on runway 13 at La Guardia Airport (KLGA); shortly afterwards skidding off the runway and coming to rest on a coastal embankment. While investigating the accident it was found that there were many contributing factors that led to the runway excursion by the aircraft, all of which could have been prevented with better crew resource management. A factor that led to the MD 88 to veer of the side of the runway was the poor decision making process that was used to land at La Guardia. At the time of arrival the weather was low visibility, accumulating snow and ice fog. While enroute the flight crew continually monitored the weather at LGA to assess the landing performance. The flight crew referred to Delta s contaminated runway crosswind limitations and recognized that the crosswind would be at Delta s 10 knot limit if the runway braking action was reported to be medium/poor. The controller asked them if they could accept the ILS runway 13 approach? The first officer replied asking for braking action in which the controller had no reports on it at the time due to snow removal and no aircraft were landing. By 1037, the flight crew received a message on the ACARS from dispatch about runway 13/31 closure. Turns out the runway was closed for snow removal operations at KLGA. At this point in time, the pilots seemed to be surprised to have received this message after the controller just asked them if they could accept an approach to

The buildings were much taller than I imagined. The city smelled of cigarette smoke, the tinge of not quite fresh air. My parents led us up a brick stairway and through a screen door,

In 2009, it was estimated RSA had about 40 million tokens and 250 million mobile software versions deployed in over 25,000 organizations , including banks, government, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical companies (Rashid, 2011). Through a coordinated effort, RSA worked with law enforcement, the intelligence community, and other commercial entities. RSA s actions stand in contrast to many corporations that do not acknowledge breaches of sensitive information systems for fear of alarming shareholders and exposing the corporation to lawsuits (Gross, 2011). Even when evidence points to nation state involvement (most often China), many companies still refuse to acknowledge breaches. The fear of offending the Chinese and jeopardizing their share of that country s exploding markets is reason enough to remain quiet (Gross). Despite mounting evidence, the U.S. government, for its part, has been fecklessly circumspect in calling out the Chinese (Gross). Incident Recovery Recovery after the breach at RSA was not limited to the RSA environment. Due to the widespread implementation of RSA tokens across industry and government agencies (and its contractors) the breach had far reaching implications across multiple sectors. In an attempt to mitigate potential attacks on its customers environments related to the stolen information, RSA outlined nine steps customers could take to harden their IT infrastructures and reduce their chances of being breached (Gov InfoSecurity). While the recommended steps were followed by defense contractor Lockheed Martin, they were later breached in an attack related to the initial RSA breach

Both stories offer an interesting journey of seeking peace in the midst of desperation. Aristophaneswrites of a woman trying to bring an end to the destructive Peloponnesian Warbetween Athens and Sparta while Lee s version of Lysistrataaims to bring peace between two gangs whose fights routinely spill into Chicago s streets, killing many innocent people in the crossfire. In fact, despite the radical difference in setting, both versions of the story share a numerous amount of similarities in terms of plot and theme. However, I will argue that Spike Lee s tale is, like Aristophanes , trying to instill a message about the need for peace, but also telling a story of self development with regard to Lysistrata herself. The Ancient Greek version of Lysistrata was nearly mythic, commanding the respect of her peers almost without question. By contrast, modern day Chicago Lysistrata has to grow into the role of leader, gradually waking up to the severity of the chaos of her home then making the effort to push for accord. Making this version of the heroine more human allows Spike Lee to create a model for ordinary people in this era to take charge and put an end to senseless suffering in

It is because of this episode that the Marchmain family are shamed in the newspaper, perhaps worsening Lady Marchmains over reaction to Sebastian s drinking later in the novel. Citizens in this class live in houses near populous cities or even own their own land (Merrill,
  • 40. Analysis Of Literary Analysis In Ulysses By Lord Alfred... Literature and poetry in particular have the potential to make profound impressions on their readers. In the poem Ulysses by Lord Alfred Tennyson, the speaker Ulysses argues for his mariners to come back out to sea. Karen Prior s article How Reading Makes Us More Human argues how reading makes one more human. On the other hand, Tennyson makes his argument through Ulysses, as he talks to his mariners while Prior makes her argument to teachers of higher of education. While Tennyson and Prior both use rhetorical situations to persuade their audiences, Prior connects to her audience better by citing compelling and exhaustive research, eliciting sympathy from her audience through her narrative voice, and establishing her credibility by using personal examples and research. Prior s uses captivating evidence in her article in order to persuade the audience that reading makes one more human. For example, Prior takes research from psychologists from York University and University of Toronto which states [people] who read fiction appear to be better able to understand other people, empathize with them and view the world from their perspective (para. 2). With the use of notable research, the reader starts to question if reading does make one more human. Prior then goes on to use research done by the director of the Center for Reading and Language Research. The director Maryanne Wolf states, the fragility of the brain s ability to read with the kind of sustained attention that

There is inefficient use of available resources in agriculture field in Punjab province and on other hand Punjab is encountering severe shortage of irrigation water from many decades. It is causing much lower agriculture productivity while Punjab is highly productive resource base of Pakistan. High efficiency irrigation systems (HEIS) resulted in finding water and nutrient efficient options and most appropriate ways to address various crop production related issues. 1.2.3 Types of HEIS There are number of High efficiency irrigation system methods such as bubbler , drip , rain gun, center pivot , conventional sprinkler all these methods involve use of pipes for carrying water from the source to points of use. Small emitters in form of droplets are being used in drip or trickle irrigation which provide water to individual plants without causing waste of water. Bubbler irrigation is as well similar to trickle irrigation the difference is only that instead of pipe in this form of system we use micro sprinklers mounted on small spikes. Only in rain gun irrigation system water is being pumped at high pressure via piped system and then after sprayed over the field. Drip Irrigation System the highly water efficient

One day, Milkman follows Ruth to see with his own eyes the proof that Ruth is a sexual deviant, and Milkman is led to the cemetery. Organisms use Oxygen to oxidize fats and sugars which in turn generates energy. Squid and Sharks require special respiratory and circulatory systems because they are complex organisms that require more energy to live. These more complex gill structures maximize the amount of oxygen that sharks and squid can obtain from the ocean. On the other hand, Sea stars are much simpler organisms that don t use much energy throughout the day, therefore they are able to survive on diffusion alone and can focus the extra energy that isn t used to power a complex respiratory or circulatory system to a different part of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Squid uses a lot of energy throughout the day in order to move escape getting eaten, they are relatively light and don t use up as much energy when compared to Sharks. This is because Sharks are very heavy and dense fish, as well as apex predators. This requires lifestyle means that sharks use much more energy than squids do, therefor Sharks must absorb more oxygen from the water on a daily basis than squids do. In order to do that, Sharks gills are equipped with a countercurrent exchange system, in which the blood flow from the gills goes against the flow of the water passing through the gills. This system maximizes the amount of oxygen the sharks can absorb into their bloodstream, which in term maximizes the amount of energy the sharks can produce through cellular respiration. If the Sharks gills weren t equipped with the countercurrent system, and the blood flowed in the same direction as water passing through the gills, the sharks would only be able to absorb about 50% of the oxygen in the water, due to the fact that the water and the blood would reach equilibrium. All in all, the countercurrent system allows for sharks to move fast and hunt other big strong animals despite their dense and heavy cartilaginous

I don t remember much from those visits only that I would cry and scream when I had to leave. He would put me in my car seat and my brother would get in the car like it was a normal part of life. I tried to hold onto him, I often pleaded with him to come home. It emotionally scarred me, no one at the age of four should go through that. When my dad left my mom it tore apart the life I knew. Sometimes she would sit on the floor in our bedroom and scream out how much she wanted to die. I really didn t know how to react to it. I recall crying a lot, especially when she said things about killing herself. I was worried that if she did then I would have to live without any parents. • 51. Hel Williams Analysis In chapters five and nine, Williams indicated that the goals of writing include leaving the reader with a solid understanding of the main idea from beginning to end. Readers should clearly understand what the writers are writing about and how to get from point to point. An excellent essay should include an introduction, a body and a conclusion that ties together. A cohesive paper is like cement; you pour it into a mold to take shape. As the paper forms, it all should come together without confusion. The article should make sense, flowing, without shifty sentences and scattered words, not flowing in the direction intended. Thus, this can be done with active instead of passive verbs. Williams indicated that in a cohesive paper the writer needs to make the last few words appear in the first few words of one set of information (69). When diagnosing and revising sentences, the writer needs to identify if the reader feels comfortable with the text. Understanding common words and content as oppose to new and unfamiliar writings can become a challenge. A coherent passage focuses the reader s attention on the main ideas and the particular people, things, and events. A topic sentence usually comes at the beginning of a paragraph and lets the reader know what to expect from each section. It is like a preview for a movie or headline in a newspaper, highlighting the main point presented in that paragraph. Williams suggested a process to diagnose and revise topic sentences. Just like identifying the subject verb in chapters 3 and 4, underline the first seven to eight words in the sentence and determine how many words pass before a verb or clause
