This document provides tips for small and medium businesses to create effective websites. It recommends that websites should focus on giving visitors the key information they need quickly to make a purchasing decision. Websites should have a warm, natural tone where the company talks to visitors like people, rather than using cold corporate language. Homepages especially need to get straight to the point in under a minute rather than trying to showcase a company's graphic design talents or corporate information. The document advises keeping pages slim and succinct so visitors don't have to scroll or jump around too much.

This is a presentation I did at Failcon 2012 in San Francisco, It tells the story of ccLoop, a startup I founded in 2010.
ccLoop was my fourth startup. The first three found large markets and did well, but this one did not.
I discussed a few topics including:
- Getting the right founding team.
- Solving a problem that customers care dearly about.
- Building a product the customer can't live without.
- Knowing when to pivot and when to persevere.
- Not getting wrapped up into PR and worrying about which startups have "social proof" and which don't.
This presentation describes:
What is Freelancing?
How to be a Freelancer?
What are the success factors to win projects?
What are the different online Freelancing sites?
Business for engineers part 6: Company valuesJan Isakovic
A quick introduction to basic business concepts aimed at engineers and all who wish a simple and quick explanation. Part 6 and last part in the series is covering perhaps the fuzziest concept of them all: company values.
Professionalism for the Wildlife Control OperatorLaura Schmidt
How do you present a professional appearance to your customer--and make the customer want to hire you trust you, and pay you good money to solve the wildlife problem? We'll show you!
At each stop on our tour, we’ll be giving a lecture presentation about how each of us as designers can work for the greater good. We know, however, that intention only goes so far; we must collectively establish best practices. When we’re designing for homelessness, health, poverty, education, and well-being, the stakes are higher than ever, with little room for half-hearted efforts.
With that in mind, we have compiled a Toolkit for both design students and educators (or really for anyone who wants to apply creative problem solving to social issues) that outlines 13 values and corresponding strategies for not just how to design for the greater good, but how to produce GREAT design for the greater good. (Note: The 13 values are derived from the Designer’s Handshake document included in our book, Design Revolution: 100 Products that Empower People).
The problem is there are no simple “right” answers for most Web design questions (at least not for the important ones). What works is good, integrated design that fills a need—carefully thought out, well executed, and tested.

My presentation to Social Media Club Orlando. There were 5 panelists, and each was given 10 minutes to present a metric of their choice, one which each felt was the most important. I chose revenue, as at the end of the day, that's the only one that truly matters. If you are looking for a great presentation on the topic, see Olivier Blanchard's: Basics Of Social Media Roi found at: http://www.slideshare.net/thebrandbuilder/olivier-blanchard-basics-of-social-media-roi.
How to use video to dominate search. A presentation I did to SITE Florida's Summer Summit, which is an organization for Travel Professionals. Basically I give examples of how (what I call) 1 little video can be used to truly dominate specific keyword sets in Google, and provide a real-world example from one of our clients (a book publisher).

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

Transforming Brand Perception and Boosting Profitabilityaaryangarg12
In today's digital era, the dynamics of brand perception, consumer behavior, and profitability have been profoundly reshaped by the synergy of branding, social media, and website design. This research paper investigates the transformative power of these elements in influencing how individuals perceive brands and products and how this transformation can be harnessed to drive sales and profitability for businesses.
Through an exploration of brand psychology and consumer behavior, this study sheds light on the intricate ways in which effective branding strategies, strategic social media engagement, and user-centric website design contribute to altering consumers' perceptions. We delve into the principles that underlie successful brand transformations, examining how visual identity, messaging, and storytelling can captivate and resonate with target audiences.
Methodologically, this research employs a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Real-world case studies illustrate the impact of branding, social media campaigns, and website redesigns on consumer perception, sales figures, and profitability. We assess the various metrics, including brand awareness, customer engagement, conversion rates, and revenue growth, to measure the effectiveness of these strategies.
The results underscore the pivotal role of cohesive branding, social media influence, and website usability in shaping positive brand perceptions, influencing consumer decisions, and ultimately bolstering sales and profitability. This paper provides actionable insights and strategic recommendations for businesses seeking to leverage branding, social media, and website design as potent tools to enhance their market position and financial success.
