Personalization In Health And Social Care Case Study
2.3 Personalization and Privacy Concern
In the rapidly developing mobile health market, MHS providers need personalized services
increasingly in order to attract customers and capture the market. Meanwhile, it will involve the issues
of users privacy inevitably, and this seems to be an adoption behavior paradox. On the one hand, users
enjoy personalized mobile health services, but on the other hand, they are reluctant to disclose their
personal information or as little as possible. To illustrate privacy concerns and personalization, they
will be discussed in detail separately.
2.3.1 Personalization
Personalization exists in many fields, and has been defined in many references (Hagen et al., 1999)
(Riecken 2000) (Adomavicius et al. 2005). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Users can not only improve the efficiency through applications and enjoy convenience brought by the
technology, but also can bring them to their lives, manage their health and access benefits from the
service. In this way, the mobile health user is not only a recipient of technology, but more as a
consumer. Moreover, mobile health services are based on users personal information. However, the
convenient and personalized service, inevitably, initiates users privacy concerns. Therefore,
personalization and privacy concern have moderating effects on the factors in protection motivation,
and consequently, influence the mobile health services adoption. The integrated model is depicted as
in Figure 2.1 and is expected to have great predictive

Sociolinguistics and Development of Israel’s Arab Minority
The objective of this report is to give a concise study regarding the Arab minority in Israel. It will
trace some significant issues that have impacted the overall linguistic reality, nevertheless the
marginalization of Arabs in that small but complex country. It will track the language policy adopted
in that country, the educational, political, practical, social, ideological reasons that have lead to the
Arabic status in Israel. Spolsky and shohamy(1999a:41)suggest an obvious difference among three
things, language practices language ideology and language policy.
Language practices are the actual use of linguistic repertoire, that is, the options among language
varieties and languages accessible to a society. Language ideology is ... Show more content on

As a result, this situation of Hebrew becoming the national language has created a linguistic and social
dominance across all domains. This superstratum of Hebrew in Israel can be seen in most of the
domains such as governmental departments and institutions, advertisements, the media, court
procedures and education.
This linguistic reality, has added to the negative social attitudes towards the Arabic minority, the
economic status of a minority language is likely to be a key element in language vitality. Palestinians
in Israel, who constitute an indigenous and national minority, are considered a minority of low socio
economic status (Smooha, 2005) this in return has created hegemony amongst the majority towards
the Arab minority in the state of Israel (unit glossary)
Furthermore, this linguistic reality, has enforced endogamy, where Arab Israelis, have to create state of
affairs to maintain and develop the Arabic language by encouraging community activities such,
literature events such as poetry, readings, and other literature competitions, further attention to
elementary and secondary school in their towns and villages, and continuous discussions and debates
regarding the Arabic language policy to further improve and relinquish its status..
The social reality mentioned above has contributed towards the negative economic, social and
political status, which in return, has further marginalized and

How The Domino Theory Backfired
How the Domino Theory Backfired
Brought up in the 1950s, a theory primarily gave way to a supporting a war started in regards to it.
After two world wars had started and ended in the span of less than 50 years, the first half of the 1900s
were influenced and shaped by the war and war effort. This was a time in world history ruled by
vulnerability, but not long after the end of the infamous world wars, the Cold War followed. This war
was an American effort against the Russian to, in part, fight the rise of communism. One of the most
notorious wars for America, the only war they ever lost, was the Vietnam War; a branch of the Cold
War effort of containment, or at least the effort to stop the spread of communism, was a theory coined
as the domino theory. While the theory made sense at the time, in hindsight, it was flawed, and there
were other ways to accomplish the what the domino theory was then thought to achieve.
The domino theory was defined as the held belief that if one communist country fell, neighboring
communist countries would fall with it, and in turn, communism would eventually reach America and
take over the world. This was theorized by American foreign policy advisors, but the phrase was
popularized after Dwight D. Eisenhower s use of it in one of his speeches. In this speech, he talked
about the importance of American intervention in South Vietnam to allow the creation of a buffer
country (South Vietnam), a country or state that stood between a potentially

Public Spaces
Race and Power in Public Spaces Last Friday, June 26, I have chosen to go to the food court inside the
Students Union in order to make my observation for this second ethnographic paper. As we discussed
in class, observation is type of field work that anthropologists do in order to collect data and effectuate
studies about the same data. As a way to collect better results in my observation at the Students
Unions, I decided to go during launch time willing to observe a huge number of people in that place.
While I was there, I was focused on observing the way people behave when they are in a public
sphere, and how do they interact with each other. When I first arrived there, the first thing that I have
noticed is that most of the people in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I saw the way the Mexicans were behaving, I realized that it was connected to the idea of power
that we have discussed in class. As the teacher said in class, Power is the ability or potential to bring
about change (Storey). I believe that this idea applies to the Mexicans that I observed because they
feel incapable to bring change in America, so they act a little shy in public spaces. In my opinion, if
the American society treated all the people in the same way, avoiding the creation of stereotypes about
people from different races, those people would behave in a different way. Because race is very
important in America, people that is not white feel pressured to behave in certain way that will not
bother people with power, just like how the Mexican that I say acted like. On the other hand, I have
also made a connection to the concept that racism is socially constructed, when people started to look
at me in different way because I was sitting with a white girl. This made me realize that because
America does not feel comfortable about interracial relationship, they promote racism, and as
consequence, Americans do not know how to act in situations like this, so they see it as strange or
uncommon just like when they saw me with a white girl. From what I saw in my observation last
Friday, it seems that people in America is

Linguistic Relativity Essay
Introduction:
Linguistic relativity is the notion that language can affect our thought processes, and is often referred
to as the Sapir Whorf hypothesis , after the two linguists who brought the idea into the spotlight.
Whorf writes how Language is not merely a reproducing instrument for voicing ideas but rather is
itself the shaper of ideas, the program and guide for the individual s mental activity (1956:212), and I
will explain how it is able to do so. In this essay I will argue that certain ways of mental
categorization, spatial cognition and reality interpretation, based on the characteristics of our specific
variety of language, influence our perception of the world. I will discuss how languages divide up
nature differently, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dirven and Verspoor note how the English differentiation is entirely forced on these children by the
contrast between the English prepositions in and on (1998:140), whereas in Korean, Kkita (glossable
loosely as fit ...) is indifferent to whether the Figure goes into, onto, over, or together with the Ground,
as long as it leads to a tight fit (Choi and Bowerman 1991:90).
The fact that the tested children grouped the actions in accordance with the grammatical structure of
their respective language is evidence for linguistic relativity, as both groups of children construe(d) the
relations between objects in the world on the basis of their language specific categories, and not on the
basis of some universal, conceptual categories (Dirven and Verspoor 1998:140 141). This suggests
that the children from the two linguistic communities will partly see the world in a different way,
being inclined to categorise the things they see in contrasting fashions.
Certain features are deemed important enough to warrant a category, and different languages prioritise
different qualities. What this means is that when we say something belongs to a certain set, e.g. that
putting toys into a container falls into an in group, we are focussing on some, but neglecting other
details of the situation, such as the tightness of the fit. The framework of our language

What Is The Persistence Of Memory Distinctively Visual
Throughout history, artists have endeavored to convey emotion, meaning and complexity within a
single still image. Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh and Roy Lichtenstein illustrate the embodiment of
the human experience within a realm of artistic expression. Each respective artist exemplifies the
power of an image to produce a statement regarding the unconscious mind, mental anguish, and the
banality of industrial culture. Ultimately, they evoke a poignant story within a simple picture. The
Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali is universally regarded as an emblem of the Surrealist
movement. However, the meaning of its aesthetic construction is mystifying. The painting features
four clocks draped in a barren desert. The clocks are disproportionately bent and appear to be melting
into the landscape of the painting. Additionally, there is no indication of human life. The juxtaposition
of this painting is eccentric and indiscriminate. It depicts the assemblage of unrelated items. Thus, it
represents the landscape of the psyche when it is engaged in the act of dreaming. The melting clocks
personify the manner in which time capriciously melts away as an individual dreams. Furthermore, the
psyche cannot measure time when it is engaged in the act of dreaming. In the dream world, the clock
does not possess the power to act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanity acknowledges the presence of the unconscious mind. However, they are not cognizant of its
attributes. Like the barren and infertile desert in The Persistence of Memory, the unconscious mind is
barren to the eyes of the waking mind. Dali also exemplifies the process of a dream fading from the
memory of the conscious mind. He illustrates this concept through the formation of a dehydrated tree.
The tree does not contain leaves. Rather, it is sapped of this essential trait. This symbolizes that the

McKee (2014) informs us that genre work by providing conventions that allow efficient
communication between producers and audiences. Spiderman Homecoming has crossed numerous
genres including further the science fiction, adventure branches. However, in contrast to this, the film
Beauty and the Beast encompassed a young woman showing a little girl how to read and usually with
her nose in a book would allow an audience to comprehend Bella s kind manner and intelligence being
quite nerd like. Beauty and the Beast on the surface poses as a production that exceeds Disney s usual
stereotypical depictions of gender, race, and social hierarchy. Its paints Belle as a nerdy, intelligent,
and adventure seeking heroine who opposes to the town s provincial life as opposed to the usual
consideration to nerds being unattractive, socially awkward and submissive. Her smart and curious

House On Mango Street Book Assignment
Book Assignment For this book assignment I decided to read the book The House on Mango Street by
Sandra Cisneros. Cisneros uses a series of vignettes to tell the story of Esperanza Cordero and a year
of her life on Mango Street. Esperanza is a 12 year old Mexican American girl, or Chicana, living in a
congested Latino neighborhood located in the more poorer area of Chicago. The story begins with
Esperanza s family moving to a new house on Mango street which she describes as an upgrade from
their previous house but it is still not the home her heart desires. Esperanza has big dreams of
eventually leaving Mango Street and owning her own real house with a big yard and multiple
washrooms, just like the ones she sees on television. Esperanza s journey into maturity and
development is described through these interestingly written vignettes. She begins writing poetry as a
way of expressing the events happening in her life such as developing friends, puberty and sprouting
hips, and even dealing with sexual assault. The first half of the book begins with Esperanza wanting to
continue to play in her little child bubble but is pushed into the world of adulthood when dealing with
the deaths of her grandfather and Aunt Lupe and when she is abruptly kissed by an older man while at
her first job. Esperanza also writes about her neighbors and happenings of the neighborhood to paint a
picture of the different paths in life that are available to her. She switches her interest to the older
women of the neighborhood who each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Tiananmen Square Essay
Tiananmen Square: As hope began to creep into the minds of young New Wave artists, they began to
push the boundaries past what cultural officials could accept. Many officials expressed the opinion
that young artists exhibitions were incomprehensible, a confused hodgepodge that has everything in it
but works of real artistic value. It reflects ideological emptiness[...] primarily sexual liberation, lust
that will drive people into promiscuity. Disgusting, naked filth! (Sullivan 276). Despite the pressure
placed upon them, artists would not be silenced: they would defend their freedom and democracy to
their last breath. In 1980, a spark of rebellion began following the death of Hu Yaobang, one of the
most reform minded leaders after the Cultural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In shock, the artists came to a sudden realization of their impotence in the face of real politics. Their
idealism an utopian enthusiasm so typical of new art in the 1980s met its nemesis in the gun barrels of
Tiananmen. Unofficial culture, which was just coming out into the open, was again forced into an
iconoclast position by official policy. But, ironically, this banishment in the end served creative art a
good turn (Chang 1). The party once again controlled the creation of official art, however young artists
would not allow themselves to be controlled. The underground nature of new art communities allowed
artists to thrive and experiment without fear. Artists were forced to reevaluate the premise and validity
of their artistic pursuit, and of the delicate tensions between form, aesthetic matter and reality (Chang
2). Out of the reach of government control, they were able to look abroad to places such as Singapore,
Taiwan, and the west. Tiananmen Square became deeply embedded in the minds of the artists that
arose during the 1990s, and they faced the future with a skepticism their predecessors lacked. From
the ashes of the New Wave rose the Cynical Realists, a group of young artists unsullied by the
impractical expectations of the 80s (sullivan

Prevent Coercive Prayer In Public Schools Essay
Prevent Coercive Prayer in Public Schools
The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America reads: quot;Congress shall
make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. quot;
This amendment, commonly called the
Establishment Clause, forms the foundation of the right of every American to practice their chosen
religion freely and without the interference of the government. In 1947, the Supreme Court issued a
statement emphasizing the separation of school and state based on this amendment. Students are
entitled to the right to express their religious beliefs in school, but it is unconstitutional for the
administration to endorse or discriminate against any religion. Due to ... Show more content on

There are several obvious fallacies in this argument. The first is the assumption that morals must be
taught in public schools. Many people hold the belief that it is the duty of the students parents, and not
the responsibility of the school system, to teach the students matters of ethics. Another mistake is to
assume that a moral law cannot be taught without the use of religion.
There are many logical, non religious reasons for following a moral code that is acceptable to this
society. If one does not agree to follow the morals of the rest of the citizens of the U. S., one will
quickly be incarcerated. The
American people are already under the power of an entity which wields immense power and has the
capacity to punish those who do not conform to society s ideals: the federal government.
Often, debaters in favor of coercive prayer in school feel themselves compelled to quote statistics and
percentages, a practice which is not usually useful to the debate in general because there is rarely any
proof to link the rampant rise of quot;sin quot; with the practice of school endorsed prayer. quot;Since
the court outlawed prayerŠdivorce doubled, teenage

Elton John s Song Ticking
Ticking is one of Elton John s most powerful and under rated songs. Bernie Taupin, Elton s song
writer, wrote the words why Elton wrote the music, and together they created a song that presents a
strong statement. It is a story about a fictional young man who is seemingly normal, but in the end, he
snaps and unleashes his carnage. For a song released in 1974, years before mass shootings like
Columbine, Aroura, and Orlando, it is eerie that it can relate to so many mass shooting that have
happened in the past few years. Elton and Bernie are giving a warning in this song that, as a society,
we should focus on trying to reduce gun violence and focus more on mental health.
Looking at the title, Ticking may not immediately mean anything, but once you dig into the lyrics of
the song it becomes clear. It refers to a young man who is seemingly normal and very quiet, however
in the end he snaps. Ticking is being used as a metaphor to represent the young man who appears
normal but is slowly getting closer to the breaking point.

The Effect Of Ethanol On The Production Of Ethanol
The production of Ethanol has been happening for many of years. The production of Ethanol is a form
alcoholic beverages, which humans have been drinking for many of hundreds of years. Ethanol is
produced when alcoholic fermentation occurs. Alcoholic or Ethanol fermentation is a biological
process that produces ethanol without needing oxygen. What is needed for this process to work is
glucose and yeast. The production of alcohol or ethanol is the chemical reaction that happens when
yeast breaks downs glucose (sugar). Glucose + Yeast → Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide. The different
types of alcoholic beverages come from the different glucose used, like the glucose from different
fruits. Whenever producing Ethanol or Alcohol you need to make sure that it is being brewed into a
vessel which allows the carbon dioxide to escape and prevents oxygens from coming in.
The Volmith Boutique Brewery has recently opened up their business and the demand of their
products has put stress on their staff. They have hired an group to conduct out a series of experiments
to observe the significant changes that might hinder or improve the production rate of the alcohol
being produced. The first variable we change was the temperature the group keep the flasks at. It was
hypothesised by the individual that the flasks that were at the temperature of 37 degrees and 25
degrees were to produce the most ethanol. This is because the optimal temperature for yeast is in

Pogroms according to OED, is an organized massacre of a particular ethnic group. Additionally,
pogrom is a word Russian which basically means to wreak havoc, to demolish violently.[iv]
Therefore, it can easily inferred from the definition of Pogroms how the Igbo people began to feel
insecure and unsafe in Nigeria after the counter coup and government sponsored pogroms. For
instance, Achebe in his book, There was a Country writes that the July 1966 counter coup and the
pogroms against the Igbo people, killed over thirty thousand civilian men, women and children were
slaughtered, hundreds of thousands were wounded, maimed and violates, their homes and property

because of the horrific counter coup and the government implemented pogrom policy against the Igbo
people have generated doubts in Igbo people s mind on their stand whether one united and peaceful
Nigeria can actually exist or not. Also, this statement again emphasizes the fact that how the mass
violence and murders of Igbo people escalated the tensions between the Igbos and other Nigerians
groups and tribes, which eventually led to emergence in the Biafra s liberation movement among the
Igbo people. Moreover, Achebe writes, ethnic riots happens everywhere in the world. But in this
particular case a detailed plan for mass killing was implemented by the government the army, the
police the very people who were there to protect life and property. [vi] This statement of Achebe
further indicates how when the Igbo people began to see that their own government is planning on

Different Structures Of The Brain Essay
Structures of the Brain
The Brain Stem
The brain stem or the medulla is the closest to the spinal cord. The brainstem is responsible for most
of the human bodily functions. The brain stem is critical for human survival and normal human
functions. The brain stem is also responsible for information of pain and touch from the head and
neck; it is also responsible for the inputs from the face and the mouth. Reticular formation is a group
of neurons, nuclei, that are important for sleep and wakefulness. In reticular formation there is nuclei
that are a major source of neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin is important for regulating mood and
activities.
The Pons
The pons is the region above the brainstem. The pons contains the locus coeruleus, a region of cells
that belong to the reticular formation. The neurotransmitter norepinephrine are necessary for arousal
and attention. These neurons are found in the brain and spinal cord.
The Cerebellum
Connected to the brain stem and is located in the back of the brain is the cerebellum. The cerebellum
is responsible for motor coordination and also some learning involving movement. Once someone
learns a new motor action that information is held in the cerebellum.
The Midbrain
The midbrain is located above the pons. The midbrain has an area called the substantia nigra which
holds different nuclei. The midbrain is responsible for the body s movement that is not covered by the
cerebellum. The neurotransmitter dopamine, that produced by

An Additional Area Of Contention Within The Literature
An additional area of contention within the literature regards the effects of polling on voters. The
majority of scholars support the idea that polling publication does indeed have an effect on voters. On
the lower end of the influence scale, scholars such as Cutler et al. (2012:282) conclude that poll
reporting is potentially an autonomous influence on the behaviour of voters as they reason their way to
electoral decisions. However, their study does not delve too heavily into the actual empirical influence
of poll reporting s effects, but rather alludes to its potential effects. More comprehensive studies of the
1988 election in Canada found that polling had a much larger effect on voting behaviour (Blais,
Gidengil and Nivette 2006:272). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, during times of negative news for a party, undeclared voters would, in turn, state that they
were less likely to vote for said party (ibid). However, this study concluded by finding that when it
came down to election day, there was no clear evidence that these reported voting intentions, as a
result of polling publication or news stories, influenced undecided voters when they reached the
voting booth, as the influence was not found to be statistically significant (ibid:39 40).
Normative Assessments: Effects of Polling Publication on Democracy? Most of the literature
discussed in the above chapters has been fairly empirical in its findings. However, some of the current
literature discussing the nature of polling publication and its influence on voters have also brought
normative claims to their studies. These normative claims operate under the assumption that polling
publication is indeed influencing voter decisions, and subsequently ask: what do the effects of voter
influence from polling publication mean for Canadian democracy? In response to this question, two
sides have emerged in the debate; a majority of scholars who believe polling publication is negatively
affecting democracy, and a small minority who believe polling publication is benefiting democracy.
Those who believe polling publication is negatively affecting Canadian democracy argue two claims.
Firstly, due to the influence polling publications have on

American Reality Show Vs. British Reality Shows
Final Research: American Reality Show Vs. British Reality Show There was a war between Great
Britain and America that ended a long time ago. Today these two cultures use this historical event as
an excuse to argue about two shows on MTV. When the time a person floating the enormous database

it takes on the two shows: Jersey Shore Vs. Geordie Shore , a spin off shows for British TV show

story line and a concept for both shows are practically the same. The interesting factor about this
unethical fight between two shows often calls for a debate. This mass communication currently going
on can connect to few ethical theories, sub theories, and application of semiotic models. Whether
people like either show, these two reality shows are causing a mass of controversy between two
different cultures. When there is a mass communication takes in, it is easily connecting to few ethical
theories used while the discussion heats. Part of people from the argument uses deontological views
that one show is better than the other or vise verse. It tends to seem as this particular groups use of

Short Story About The Crazy Ghost
Muhahahaha, with my Ghost Machine I can bring back the dead to haunt this world, once and for all!
Shouted Dr Raggu. Police! Put your hands up! The authorities were at the scene. Prepare to die! For
the rest of the world, they will be haunted by ghosts!, exclaimed the crazy professor. Hands up drop
the weapon!, the professor had a baby in his hands along with a ray gun. He went to release the ghosts,
but something went wrong. BOOM! It went up in flames. After the scene all that was found was the
baby, no ghosts, the ghosts powers were gone, but the police did not know where, only the baby. Jack!
What the heck are we going to do about the weather. There were no signs of this weather before any of
this happened. It has been a month! Nervously said Nick. Jack responded, I don t know, but we are
climbing to the top of the building where the weather panel is to find this out. Kshhh go to your
classes, said the lady in the intercom. Those intercoms have been messed up since the weather has
been going on. In my Geometry class the water leaks took out our power. Nick and Jack went up to
the door leading to the rooftop, but there was some weird insulation surrounding the edges of the door.
Footsteps were heard. Jack Flame, Nick Harden, what are you doing? Said the janitor. Um uhh, our
science project from last month is up there. Jack said with a fake smile. Well if you open that door it

Cultural Characteristics Of Musical Theater

What is Musical Theater?
It is not Shakespeare, nor is it Opera. It has been called Minstrel Show, Burlesque, Vaudeville,
Extravaganza, Operetta, Musical Comedy, Musical Revue, Musical Theatre and it has been described
in a variety of terms including Low Brow and Middle Brow but never High Brow. It had also been
praised and condemned for its broad cultural connections and appeal. Although Musical Theatre is not
a Shakespearean or Operatic subcategory. It was highly inspired by many Operas and theatrical iambic
pentameter and phrases of the great Shakespeare himself. For example, Rent was inspired by La
Boheme and Miss Saigon was inspired by Madame Butterfly. As a result, They sparked the beginning
of the amazing cultural phenomenon of Musical Theater. Vaudeville is a type of show and
entertainment that was very popular within the United states during the early 20th century, that had a
mixture of special acts such as burlesque comedy and song and dance. Burlesque is a comical work
that is usually something highly embellished, or a pastiche of some kind. It is often found that many
Burlesque works usually had a striptease of some sort. In the beginning showing legs was considered
profane and highly scandalous yet was highly entertaining for many people. Minstrel shows were a
shameful form of entertainment that had begun to rise in the 1840 s. With this came the creation of

Fibroids Case Study
The success of this treatment depends on the signal intensity of the fibroids on the T2 weighted
images. Fibroids with a smaller percentage of non enhancing tissue tend to produce high signal
intensities on T2 weighted imaging compared to myometrium. Fibroids with higher percentages of
non enhancing tissue and signal intensities similar to skeletal muscle or brighter than skeletal muscle
but lower than myometrium tend to have a higher shrinkage percentage after six months. Studies show
that patients with high intensity fibroids are not considered good candidates for this procedure
(Hesley, Gorny, Woodrum, 2012). As mentioned earlier scars or metal in the abdomen can absorb or

Sonhysterography uses saline to fill the uterine cavity while using ultrasound to visualize any
abnormalities. Hysterosalpingography uses a contrast filling technique under fluoroscopic guidance to
visualize any filling defects that may occur in the fallopian tubes or uterine cavity which could be due
to fibroids located in a the walls of the endometrium. The most common way to treat fibroids is with a
uterine embolization technique. Although this type of treatment is very effective it can also expose the
patient to high radiation doses. This is really dependent on the skill level of the physician, the beam on
time, and any complications that may arise. Another efficient way to treat fibroids is with the magnetic
resonance imaging guided focused ultrasound ablation of fibroids. This form of treatments does not
use any form of ionizing radiation there for no radiation is administered to the patient. However, the
success of this procedure can be affected if the patient possesses anything that could block or deflect
the beams path such as abdominal scars or surgical

What Are Richard Feyman s Major Accomplishments
Tyler Swanbeck

Physics
Mr. Jennings
Richard Feynman Richard Feynman is heralded as one of the greatest physicists of all time. This is
mainly because of his achievements in the fields of quantum electrodynamics, and other works while
being a theoretical physicist. Feynman was also able to be recognized as one of the leading figures in
the U.S. atomic bomb program, and received many awards during his lifetime; most famously the
Nobel Prize in 1965.
One of Richard Feynman s most notable achievements was his achievements in remaking modern day
quantum electrodynamics. Quantum electrodynamics is the theory of interaction between light and
matter. Feynman did this by fixing previous mistake that he found in the overall understanding of the
entire theory. The outcome of his work helped other understand such a complex theory through
Feynman diagrams. These diagrams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was able to contribute to the project with the vast knowledge that he had gained through his life
works. He was able to contribute by determining critical masses involved with creating the bombs. He
also was able to invent the Bethe Feynman formula that allowed scientists/physicists to calculate
implosion efficiency. Also, he was able to calculate neutron equations that provided the needed
knowledge to create nuclear reactors.
Feynman was also able to become a world renowned teacher. He first started his career at Cornell as a
physics professor. Later, he then became a professor at Caltech, and his lectures were widely listened
to because of his achievements in the field of physics. Feynman recieved another achievement in the
field of physics called the Oested Medal, but it was now in the field of teaching. This proved that
Feynman was one of, if not, the greatest physicists of all time because he was able to achieve great
feats in both the world of physics as a physicist and as a

What was hoped readers gain?
The essay was written to show how ordinary people have become because they rather go to the same
destination that has become more of a second home than elsewhere. The customers rather be satisfied
with convenience than with health. The essay was written to inform the reader why American Idol gets

However, it is all just an image the public either ignores or is oblivion to. By saying home away from
home it shows how the public has become so dependent even in times at home with the family. There
are commercials on TV or phones that only anticipate the next visit. The author shows how these
chains have love for children and provides a safe and clean environment. The whole essay is written
an in informal manner to apply to a younger audience. A young audience that craves attention overall
and does not worry much about the economic or political aspect that usually ties with the word
revolution. He also went back and forth to first, second and third person throughout this essay. It adds
to the purpose because he is connecting in a personal level while also painting a bigger picture. The
authors do an excellent job in showing how vampires are much like the human. They adapt as the
human evolves through the scientific evolution. The vampire is as flexible and polyvalent as ever It
shows how the vampire arose from imagination yet without it, it would be difficult to remind oneself
that there are other things in the world unexplainable and unknown to the human

Learner Drivers Reversing In Research
Are you finding reversing a car very difficult? I mean annoyingly, frustratingly difficult? Try not to be
too disheartened because believe me you are not alone. In my experience, the majority of learner
drivers struggle with reversing at first. The main reason, I think, is that although they have reverse
gear engaged, their mind is still in forward gear! Let me explain what I mean by that.
Because it feels normal and reassuring to steer the front of the car, a lot of beginners are still trying to
do that whilst going backwards! Not surprising then that they have such problems! Can you imagine
driving forwards whilst looking out of the rear windscreen? Impossible, right? Even the most
experienced driver would struggle to do that.
So, you have to put your mind into reverse mode as well as the car. In other words, accept that the
back of your vehicle becomes in effect the front when you are ... Show more content on

Keep control of the speed, using clutch control in a manual car, or the foot brake in an automatic
vehicle so that you can accurately steer and allow for the time lag between you turning the steering
wheel and the back of the car changing direction.
2. Always steer the rear of the car however tempting it may be to look around at the front to steer.
3. Remember to look a long way behind you and not at where your rear wheels are!
If you keep in mind these important points and keep on practising I hope and believe that you will
soon start to see improvements in your reversing abilities.Once you get comfortable reversing and
steering the rear, then you will find that you can start to go a little bit faster and even look around at
the front of your vehicle. The difference is that you will not be looking in front to steer but only to
check that your car is not causing problems for any other road user as you start to turn.

  • 2. Personalization In Health And Social Care Case Study 2.3 Personalization and Privacy Concern In the rapidly developing mobile health market, MHS providers need personalized services increasingly in order to attract customers and capture the market. Meanwhile, it will involve the issues of users privacy inevitably, and this seems to be an adoption behavior paradox. On the one hand, users enjoy personalized mobile health services, but on the other hand, they are reluctant to disclose their personal information or as little as possible. To illustrate privacy concerns and personalization, they will be discussed in detail separately. 2.3.1 Personalization Personalization exists in many fields, and has been defined in many references (Hagen et al., 1999) (Riecken 2000) (Adomavicius et al. 2005). ... In this way, the mobile health user is not only a recipient of technology, but more as a consumer. Moreover, mobile health services are based on users personal information. However, the convenient and personalized service, inevitably, initiates users privacy concerns. Therefore, personalization and privacy concern have moderating effects on the factors in protection motivation, and consequently, influence the mobile health services adoption. • 3. Sociolinguistics and Development of Israel’s Arab Minority The objective of this report is to give a concise study regarding the Arab minority in Israel. It will trace some significant issues that have impacted the overall linguistic reality, nevertheless the marginalization of Arabs in that small but complex country. It will track the language policy adopted in that country, the educational, political, practical, social, ideological reasons that have lead to the Arabic status in Israel. Spolsky and shohamy(1999a:41)suggest an obvious difference among three things, language practices language ideology and language policy. Language practices are the actual use of linguistic repertoire, that is, the options among language varieties and languages accessible to a society. Language ideology is ... This superstratum of Hebrew in Israel can be seen in most of the domains such as governmental departments and institutions, advertisements, the media, court procedures and education. This linguistic reality, has added to the negative social attitudes towards the Arabic minority, the economic status of a minority language is likely to be a key element in language vitality. Palestinians in Israel, who constitute an indigenous and national minority, are considered a minority of low socio economic status (Smooha, 2005) this in return has created hegemony amongst the majority towards the Arab minority in the state of Israel (unit glossary) Furthermore, this linguistic reality, has enforced endogamy, where Arab Israelis, have to create state of affairs to maintain and develop the Arabic language by encouraging community activities such, literature events such as poetry, readings, and other literature competitions, further attention to elementary and secondary school in their towns and villages, and continuous discussions and debates regarding the Arabic language policy to further improve and relinquish its status.. • 4. How The Domino Theory Backfired How the Domino Theory Backfired Brought up in the 1950s, a theory primarily gave way to a supporting a war started in regards to it. After two world wars had started and ended in the span of less than 50 years, the first half of the 1900s were influenced and shaped by the war and war effort. This was a time in world history ruled by vulnerability, but not long after the end of the infamous world wars, the Cold War followed. This war was an American effort against the Russian to, in part, fight the rise of communism. One of the most notorious wars for America, the only war they ever lost, was the Vietnam War; a branch of the Cold War effort of containment, or at least the effort to stop the spread of communism, was a theory coined as the domino theory. While the theory made sense at the time, in hindsight, it was flawed, and there were other ways to accomplish the what the domino theory was then thought to achieve. The domino theory was defined as the held belief that if one communist country fell, neighboring communist countries would fall with it, and in turn, communism would eventually reach America and take over the world. This was theorized by American foreign policy advisors, but the phrase was popularized after Dwight D. Eisenhower s use of it in one of his speeches. In this speech, he talked about the importance of American intervention in South Vietnam to allow the creation of a buffer country (South Vietnam), a country or state that stood between a potentially ... • 5. Public Spaces Race and Power in Public Spaces Last Friday, June 26, I have chosen to go to the food court inside the Students Union in order to make my observation for this second ethnographic paper. As we discussed in class, observation is type of field work that anthropologists do in order to collect data and effectuate studies about the same data. As a way to collect better results in my observation at the Students Unions, I decided to go during launch time willing to observe a huge number of people in that place. While I was there, I was focused on observing the way people behave when they are in a public sphere, and how do they interact with each other. When I first arrived there, the first thing that I have noticed is that most of the people in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I saw the way the Mexicans were behaving, I realized that it was connected to the idea of power that we have discussed in class. As the teacher said in class, Power is the ability or potential to bring about change (Storey). I believe that this idea applies to the Mexicans that I observed because they feel incapable to bring change in America, so they act a little shy in public spaces. In my opinion, if the American society treated all the people in the same way, avoiding the creation of stereotypes about people from different races, those people would behave in a different way. Because race is very important in America, people that is not white feel pressured to behave in certain way that will not bother people with power, just like how the Mexican that I say acted like. On the other hand, I have also made a connection to the concept that racism is socially constructed, when people started to look at me in different way because I was sitting with a white girl. This made me realize that because America does not feel comfortable about interracial relationship, they promote racism, and as consequence, Americans do not know how to act in situations like this, so they see it as strange or uncommon just like when they saw me with a white girl. From what I saw in my observation last Friday, it seems that people in America is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Linguistic Relativity Essay Introduction: Linguistic relativity is the notion that language can affect our thought processes, and is often referred to as the Sapir Whorf hypothesis , after the two linguists who brought the idea into the spotlight. Whorf writes how Language is not merely a reproducing instrument for voicing ideas but rather is itself the shaper of ideas, the program and guide for the individual s mental activity (1956:212), and I will explain how it is able to do so. In this essay I will argue that certain ways of mental categorization, spatial cognition and reality interpretation, based on the characteristics of our specific variety of language, influence our perception of the world. I will discuss how languages divide up nature differently, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dirven and Verspoor note how the English differentiation is entirely forced on these children by the contrast between the English prepositions in and on (1998:140), whereas in Korean, Kkita (glossable loosely as fit ...) is indifferent to whether the Figure goes into, onto, over, or together with the Ground, as long as it leads to a tight fit (Choi and Bowerman 1991:90). The fact that the tested children grouped the actions in accordance with the grammatical structure of their respective language is evidence for linguistic relativity, as both groups of children construe(d) the relations between objects in the world on the basis of their language specific categories, and not on the basis of some universal, conceptual categories (Dirven and Verspoor 1998:140 141). This suggests that the children from the two linguistic communities will partly see the world in a different way, being inclined to categorise the things they see in contrasting fashions. Certain features are deemed important enough to warrant a category, and different languages prioritise different qualities. What this means is that when we say something belongs to a certain set, e.g. that putting toys into a container falls into an in group, we are focussing on some, but neglecting other details of the situation, such as the tightness of the fit. The framework of our language ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. What Is The Persistence Of Memory Distinctively Visual Throughout history, artists have endeavored to convey emotion, meaning and complexity within a single still image. Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh and Roy Lichtenstein illustrate the embodiment of the human experience within a realm of artistic expression. Each respective artist exemplifies the power of an image to produce a statement regarding the unconscious mind, mental anguish, and the banality of industrial culture. Ultimately, they evoke a poignant story within a simple picture. The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali is universally regarded as an emblem of the Surrealist movement. However, the meaning of its aesthetic construction is mystifying. The painting features four clocks draped in a barren desert. The clocks are disproportionately bent and appear to be melting into the landscape of the painting. Additionally, there is no indication of human life. The juxtaposition of this painting is eccentric and indiscriminate. It depicts the assemblage of unrelated items. Thus, it represents the landscape of the psyche when it is engaged in the act of dreaming. The melting clocks personify the manner in which time capriciously melts away as an individual dreams. Furthermore, the psyche cannot measure time when it is engaged in the act of dreaming. In the dream world, the clock does not possess the power to act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Humanity acknowledges the presence of the unconscious mind. However, they are not cognizant of its attributes. Like the barren and infertile desert in The Persistence of Memory, the unconscious mind is barren to the eyes of the waking mind. Spiderman Homecoming has crossed numerous genres including further the science fiction, adventure branches. • 9. House On Mango Street Book Assignment Book Assignment For this book assignment I decided to read the book The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. Cisneros uses a series of vignettes to tell the story of Esperanza Cordero and a year of her life on Mango Street. Esperanza is a 12 year old Mexican American girl, or Chicana, living in a congested Latino neighborhood located in the more poorer area of Chicago. The story begins with Esperanza s family moving to a new house on Mango street which she describes as an upgrade from their previous house but it is still not the home her heart desires. Esperanza has big dreams of eventually leaving Mango Street and owning her own real house with a big yard and multiple washrooms, just like the ones she sees on television. Esperanza s journey into maturity and development is described through these interestingly written vignettes. She begins writing poetry as a way of expressing the events happening in her life such as developing friends, puberty and sprouting hips, and even dealing with sexual assault. The first half of the book begins with Esperanza wanting to continue to play in her little child bubble but is pushed into the world of adulthood when dealing with the deaths of her grandfather and Aunt Lupe and when she is abruptly kissed by an older man while at her first job. Esperanza also writes about her neighbors and happenings of the neighborhood to paint a picture of the different paths in life that are available to her. She switches her interest to the older women of the neighborhood who each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 10. Tiananmen Square Essay Tiananmen Square: As hope began to creep into the minds of young New Wave artists, they began to push the boundaries past what cultural officials could accept. Many officials expressed the opinion that young artists exhibitions were incomprehensible, a confused hodgepodge that has everything in it but works of real artistic value. It reflects ideological emptiness[...] primarily sexual liberation, lust that will drive people into promiscuity. Disgusting, naked filth! (Sullivan 276). Despite the pressure placed upon them, artists would not be silenced: they would defend their freedom and democracy to their last breath. In 1980, a spark of rebellion began following the death of Hu Yaobang, one of the most reform minded leaders after the Cultural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In shock, the artists came to a sudden realization of their impotence in the face of real politics. Their idealism an utopian enthusiasm so typical of new art in the 1980s met its nemesis in the gun barrels of Tiananmen. Unofficial culture, which was just coming out into the open, was again forced into an iconoclast position by official policy. But, ironically, this banishment in the end served creative art a good turn (Chang 1). The party once again controlled the creation of official art, however young artists would not allow themselves to be controlled. The underground nature of new art communities allowed artists to thrive and experiment without fear. Artists were forced to reevaluate the premise and validity of their artistic pursuit, and of the delicate tensions between form, aesthetic matter and reality (Chang 2). Prevent Coercive Prayer In Public Schools Essay Prevent Coercive Prayer in Public Schools The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America reads: quot;Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. quot; This amendment, commonly called the Establishment Clause, forms the foundation of the right of every American to practice their chosen religion freely and without the interference of the government. Many people hold the belief that it is the duty of the students parents, and not the responsibility of the school system, to teach the students matters of ethics. Another mistake is to assume that a moral law cannot be taught without the use of religion. There are many logical, non religious reasons for following a moral code that is acceptable to this society. If one does not agree to follow the morals of the rest of the citizens of the U. S., one will quickly be incarcerated. The American people are already under the power of an entity which wields immense power and has the capacity to punish those who do not conform to society s ideals: the federal government. Often, debaters in favor of coercive prayer in school feel themselves compelled to quote statistics and percentages, a practice which is not usually useful to the debate in general because there is rarely any proof to link the rampant rise of quot;sin quot; with the practice of school endorsed prayer. quot;Since the court outlawed prayerŠdivorce doubled, teenage ... Bernie Taupin, Elton s song writer, wrote the words why Elton wrote the music, and together they created a song that presents a strong statement. It is a story about a fictional young man who is seemingly normal, but in the end, he snaps and unleashes his carnage. For a song released in 1974, years before mass shootings like Columbine, Aroura, and Orlando, it is eerie that it can relate to so many mass shooting that have happened in the past few years. Elton and Bernie are giving a warning in this song that, as a society, we should focus on trying to reduce gun violence and focus more on mental health. Looking at the title, Ticking may not immediately mean anything, but once you dig into the lyrics of the song it becomes clear. The majority of scholars support the idea that polling publication does indeed have an effect on voters. On the lower end of the influence scale, scholars such as Cutler et al. (2012:282) conclude that poll reporting is potentially an autonomous influence on the behaviour of voters as they reason their way to electoral decisions. However, their study does not delve too heavily into the actual empirical influence of poll reporting s effects, but rather alludes to its potential effects. More comprehensive studies of the 1988 election in Canada found that polling had a much larger effect on voting behaviour (Blais, Gidengil and Nivette 2006:272). ... Normative Assessments: Effects of Polling Publication on Democracy? Most of the literature discussed in the above chapters has been fairly empirical in its findings. However, some of the current literature discussing the nature of polling publication and its influence on voters have also brought normative claims to their studies. These normative claims operate under the assumption that polling publication is indeed influencing voter decisions, and subsequently ask: what do the effects of voter influence from polling publication mean for Canadian democracy? In response to this question, two sides have emerged in the debate; a majority of scholars who believe polling publication is negatively affecting democracy, and a small minority who believe polling publication is benefiting democracy. Those who believe polling publication is negatively affecting Canadian democracy argue two claims. Firstly, due to the influence polling publications have on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
