The Hangzhou Declaration, on increasing the profi le and professionalisation of the education of TVET teachers and trainers (UNESCO-UNEVOC, 2005), and the formation
of an international network to implement the standards for the TVET Master’s degree, are milestones in the history of technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
The aim of the meeting was to evaluate and discuss the activities carried out so far and to examine the activities to perform before the next meeting, which will take place in Ireland at the end of October. The second IT-Shape meeting, attended by representatives of the 10 project partners, took place on 1st, 2nd and 3rd April 2014 at ITCG E. Fermi in Pontedera. The Pontedera meeting followed the kick-off meeting that took place in November in Budapest (Hungary). Between the two meetings, six months of hard work on the project.

Softeam is a French company with more than 20 years of experience producing UML-based modelling environments on top of its Modelio CASE tool. With the increase of complexity of models and modelling teams, came the demand for supporting scalable collaborative tools for modelling. This new demand lead to the creation of Constellation, Softeam’s enterprise model management solution. As part of this effort, Softeam joined the MONDO FP7 EU project, which develops tools and methodologies for dealing with the challenges of scalability in model driven engineering. In this experimentation, we will describe the integration of the model indexer Hawk produced by the Enterprise Systems research group at the University of York into the commercial modelling tool Modelio and into its Constellation collaboration tools, produced by Softeam. The focus of this presentation will be on the technical difficulties of integrating with commercial production grade tools, and on a benchmark of the performance of this integration. In summary, Hawk integration was performed by Softeam engineers; a functional prototype was obtained in three months, and this prototype was subsequently improved until the end of the project. On the benchmarking side, for big models, we found out that in some situations Hawk index requires half the space required by Modelio to store models, and that combining Hawk and EGL generates documents between two and three orders of magnitude faster than Modelio itself.

Abstract: This paper presents the experience of the integration of a social network and an open course that belongs to the OpenCourseWare of the National University of Distance Education (UNED, Spain). This experience is framed in the trend toward the improvement of the educational components in open courses design, specially monitoring and educational support. From the student's needs (in orientation and support) that were identified in an open course on "Traffic Education", a structural change was carried out in order to incorporate the Facebook’s communication applications. These tools allow one to carry out educational support to the participants.
The paper shows the project's point of view, the changes and adjustments carried out on the course as well as the main results. In this paper, the drivers and the barriers found in the process are also analyzed. Moreover, it will be discussed the potential of this type of integration in open applications uses.
