This document provides information about a workshop titled "The Impact of Culture on Education: Can we learn from each other?". The workshop is intended for lecturers, mentors, scientists, politicians and policy officials in the educational sector. Participants will understand how to analyze international education quality statistics through a cultural lens and gain insight into the cultural contexts of best practices, inclusion, and other key education concepts. The interactive workshop will discuss how culture influences education systems in different countries and whether international education policies and practices can be transferred across cultures.

The “Economist report on the quality of education” tries to
give recommendations.What are these? Is it possible to copy/
paste?
The cultural context of “critical thinking” and creativity”
The cultural context of “agile learning”
The cultural context of the purpose of schools
Why is in a globalizing world inclusion a strong imperative for
schools?
Does it mean that we have to think and feel in the same way?
The dangers of exclusion: “not acting white” and “the sour
grapes”
Discussion and conclusions: how to learn from each other?
Form
The program is interactive. We expect participants to con-
tribute by sharing their experiences and new ideas. We dis-
cuss applying the cultural frame work in analyzing some inter-
national movies about education.
