BRIGITTE OPEL
Brigitte Opel was born and raised in Germany. She studied and worked in the US, Japan,
Russia, Australia and various countries in Europe before settling in the Netherlands. In
all these places, she studied cultures first hand and experienced the differences. At the
Thunderbird School of International Management, she learned about cultural patterns
and their impact on doing business in the global marketplace. She worked with IBM in
Germany and the Netherlands in international project teams for 17 years. The interaction
withcolleaguesfromverydiversecountriesinspiredhertolearnmoreabouttheHofstede
model and focus her career on cross-cultural communication.
ALETTE VONK
Alette Vonk is a trainer and a team- and organizational coach. In the past twenty years
she has been stimulating and managing change processes of teams, organizations and
communities. For ten years she worked in the development business in West Africa: in
Cameroon, Benin and in Ghana. Having lived for a longer period of time in a complete
different culture, Alette has a thorough understanding of the depth of some of the
differences, the natural occurrence of mismatches and misunderstandings and, at times,
the difficulty to get passed them. Cultural competences and skills are essential in the
world of today, in order to reach our goals.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation prior to the start of the programme may cost a percentage of the programme fee :
• Over 3 weeks no charge,
• 2 to 3 weeks 30%,
• 1 to 2 weeks 60%,
• During the last week 100%.
• If there is not a sufficient number of participants the seminar may be cancelled or postponed. Cancellation will be
announced at least 3 weeks before the start of the course. The programme fee will be fully refunded.
