Plaque
But should they really spend that much? I guess not as long as they know how to remove plaque
from teeth using home remedies that they can find in their own cupboards as well as remedies that
arise from good oral hygiene practices.
What is plaque?
Before discussing how to remove plaque from teeth at home, it is first important for us to discuss
what it is and what causes it. After all, you can never treat something without fully understanding
what it is, its causes, as well as consequences.
Plaque is known as the soft, colorless, and sticky film of bacteria that forms on your teeth, gums,
and tongue. It can also form in your dental fillings, dentures and crowns. Since it is made up of
invisible harmful germs, many would always take them for ... Show more content on

In this case, you can do your own teeth staining to show whether there are plaques or not. You
can stain plaque by simply chewing red disclosing tablets which you can purchase from drug
stores and grocery stores. You may also use a cotton swab to smudge green food coloring on your
teeth. The colors red and green left on the teeth will give you an idea about the location of plaques
and where you need to brush your teeth again to remove it.
It is important that you check your teeth regularly for plaque presence so that you can ensure that
you remove all plaques properly and that it will not cause untoward problems such as tooth decay
and gum disease.

Roe V. Wade And Its Impact On American Society

Final Project
Roe v. Wade and Its Impact on American Society Few Supreme Court decisions have stirred up as
much controversy, vitriolic debate, and even violence as the one delivered in Roe v. Wade in 1973.
Four decades later, it remains a touchstone for the culture wars in the United States and a pivot upon
which much of American politics turns. In fact, the authors of Roe v. Wade
: The Abortion Rights
Controversy in American History state that even today, the case (and its companion cases) remains
the most divisive and controversial judicial decision of the twentieth century (3). Although it is a
landmark case in itself, its continuing influence on American law and politics proves that its legacy
lives on far beyond its formal resolution in a court of law. Essentially, the most important points are
that the cause of the case s complexity and drama is the legal relationship between men and women
that the ruling mirrored and compounded, the way the medical profession was impacted, and the
political significance that the issue still holds presently. One cannot understand what Roe v. Wade
meant to women or to men without understanding how abortion became illegal, and that story
begins in the nineteenth century. In 1821, Connecticut became the first state to explicitly
criminalize abortion. The primary purpose of this law was to spell out the conditions under which
the state could prosecute an abortionist for an abortion. The

Promises Not Kept Summary
1.The book by John Isbister, Promises Not Kept brings to light the real truth behind poverty and the
betrayal the third world received from the economics, legal, policy, and nationalism. What are the
two major promises that Isbister indicates were not kept in the 20th century? A first promise was
that to the leaders of the nationalist independence movements and the revolutions in the third
world. They promised the people s labor would be used for their own progress and not for the
enrichment of others. Almost all the nationalist leaders made this promisebut as we know not very
many kept it. The goal was to end poverty, I believe and as we know poverty is still alive and
growing daily. Ending poverty was a major movement towards independence but was... Show more

The term poor used here is that of poor countries and not just of the poor people in them. I don t
mean to laugh but that promise does cause a chuckle. I don t believe the rich would ever work
with the poor. The rich would want to come in and take over to earn the prestige of doing a good
deed. They would want the notoriety or fame of it all. As stated by Brad Pitt, By the time this
concert ends this evening, 30,000 Africans will have died because of extreme poverty. This just
is one example of how bad poverty is. Yes, I do agree with Isbister on his position. More rich
countries like the U.S. could do more in the fight to end poverty and lead the other nations to do
more as well. But first I believe that the U.S. needs to focus on their own people and then help
other poor countries. The United States has so many citizens that live below the poverty level
and that numbers grows daily. I am not saying that there are not good people in the world or in
the rich countries, but I am saying more of the leadership in the countries needs to step up and
lead by example. But I guess the first step is you need the right people put in power to begin with.
More humanitarians need to be in place to

Whistleblowing Case
The Whistleblowing Case Studies There are various cases about whistleblowing, one of them is
the case of Motorola CFO, Paul Liska.1 He has been fired after giving a presentation. In the
presentation, Liska pointed out to Motorola directors that the cell phone unit, Mobile Devices,
missed its sales projection for the preceding three months. Liska intended to attack Sanjay Jha,
the head of Motorola s cell phone division, by doing the presentation at the board meeting. The
whistleblowing occurred because Liska and Jha did not get along well, and Liska tried to save the
situation with an attack on Jha. Liska objected to Jha s hiring, his compensation package and the co
CEO agreement. Liska s behavior markedly deteriorated after Jha s hiring,... Show more content on

In my opinion, this is not just a personality clash and more of different views towards the
development of the company in the future. He could just keep quiet but his professionalism
made him to do the other way round. Circumstances of When Whistleblowing Is Ethically
Justifiable When we talk about whistleblowing and loyalty to a firm, we need to ask a number of
questions: Do engineers have a duty of loyalty to their organizations? If so, engineers have a
duty to act to the best interest of the firm, then is whistleblowing ever ethically justifiable?
Always, people treat loyalty as a virtue. We were taught from young to be loyal to our friends,
family and our country. However, in the case of loyalty to a firm, it could be a little different.
Loyalty to a corporation is more on dedication and devotion to the development of the firm.
Based on that, we can say that if the whistle blowing is for the good cause to the company s
future, we may not say it is ethically wrong or the person is not loyal. For example, if your boss
ask you to ignore some flaws or wrongdoings in a company project, you know the severe
consequences for not solving those problems, then it is your duty to whistle blowing, because you
are responsible to the company s future and the society, you are loyal to the objective of the
company not to a wrongdoing person. Another thing about ethically justifiable whistle blowing is
safety. We need to admit that safety is an incontrovertible

Dale Bennett Case Analysis
An Ohio trustee candidate (Dale Bennett) is being held in jail due to chatting online with an
undercover detective posing as a 14 year old girl. The alleged crime took place around December of
2014 in Ohio, according to an indictment. The crime unit moved quickly by investing the issue at
hand and informing the unit within three months. According to the search warrant, the detectives
were able to gather enough evidence to charge him. The indictment alleges that Bennett had
knowledge of obscene or harmful material that was presented to an underage child
(mydaytondailynews.com). Most of the time when people think of pedophiles, they think of
someone from a low income neighborhood or someone with a criminal history; no one think of

Burm A Military Dictatorship Country For Many Years
Burma used to be a military dictatorship country for several years. The military dictatorship
system was initially led by General Ne Win, who ruled the country with brutality since 1962. In
1974, the government forced people to approve a new constitution for establishing a one party
(Burma Socialist Program Party or BSPP) government with 415 members. General Ne Winchanged
the name of the country to the Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma. They held a one party
election and General Ne Win turned into Chairman of the State Council and President of Burma U

In September, during the congress meeting, a multi party system was voted by 75% of the

army and police forces also began to support the protestors (The protests of 8888 ). Using
excessive brutal measures, the Burmese military made the protests stop and took the power
again on September 18, 1988. General Saw Maung abolished the 1974 constitution and
established the State Law and Order Restoration Council(SLORC) . However, in 1997, the
SLORC was broken down and changed to the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC)
which continued to rule until 2010 by General Than Shwe. National League for Democracy

Sherman s Tactics
On June 27, 1864 the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain was fought. The Union Army was currently
carrying out Sherman s March. Richard T Sherman was the commander of the Union Army and was
going up against the Confederate Army of Tennessee, commanded by Joseph E. Johnston. Sherman
was beating Johnston again and again with flanking maneuvers pushing the Confederates back all
the way to Kennesaw Mountain. Sherman decided to change his tactics and ordered a frontal
assault rather than another flanking maneuver. John Logan and his men assaulted Pigeon Hill while
George Thomas led his men on another aggressive attack on Cheatham Hill. Both failed miserably
with costly casualties. The Union did however manage to gain position on the Confederate s left

Rockville High School Security Essay
Higher security due to the incident at Rockville High Recently at Rockville high school a 14
year old girl was raped by two older kids in the bathroom. Because of this incident, Montgomery
County has realized how poor the security is in each school. They are enforcing new rules to make
the schools more secure. I agree with the new change in security because some schools might not
have security cameras or guards to protect the school. But, some people also don t agree with the
new rules.
I agree that all MCPS schools should increase the security to make things safer in school. Smith
said, safety policies at the school have changed to make roaming the halls between periods more
safe. Schools are increasing security by adding cameras in places that might not have cameras and
by hiring more security. This will ensure the school being a safer place and making sure the
situation and Rockville never happens again. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This will ensure safety for others and the more security the better the school is on any bad situation
and how to handle it while also making everyone secure.
Lastly, some people don t agree with the new rules because in my school they are only letting
one person per class to go to the bathroom and you have to sign in and out to see how long you
were gone and make sure they know where you are. I think this is good so people know where you
are and what you are doing and making sure you are not going somewhere you shouldn t be going.
Also, if you are gone too long the teacher will call security and find you to see what you are doing
and if you are ok or not.
Finally, these procedures and new rules are very good to ensure safety in schools and i agree fully

Mandating Paternity Leave
As the world is emerging, parental roles are experiencing a shift. It is very common to have
professional companies and organizations offer mothers paid time off. Typically, this maternity
leave is at least six weeks. New fathers, however, don t often get this same luxury, which is
unfortunate. In order for a father to better support the motherof their child and/or personally care
for their child, a father should be granted paid paternity leave. Many argue that not mandating
paternity leave is serving men and their careers far better than if the policy were to be established.
The opposing side believes that if the creation of paternity leave becomes, mandatory, it will do
more harm than good especially for the men who don t become fathers.... Show more content on

Men present can be a great deal of physical and emotional support towards women after birth.
About women experience postpartum depression, which is a type of depression that follows
childbirth and can be triggered from hormonal changes, fatigue, and mental adjustments to
motherhood(SГ©journГ©). Mothers often need the support of their spouse during that time,
because it can lead and help mothers or co parents in their well being for an easier transition into
motherhood. A woman s body goes through a lot right after childbirth both emotionally and
physically(SГ©journГ©). Women begin adjusting to the new roles, the new bodies, and the new
schedules. So, having their partners around comforts them and helps them feel abler. Having
fathers around can also help the stress of the woman because she doesn t feel overwhelmed with
doing everything on her own and can take care of herself while the father takes care of the house
and baby. It is not the presence of the father, which is important to take into account, but rather his
participation in the care of the baby, so fathers need to be on a leave to participate in helping
reduce the risk of postpartum

Applying A Rolling Admissions Process
As mentioned earlier, when our prospect applies to the four selected colleges from Figure 6.4, they
will utilize the LSAC as mandated from each institution. That provides for straightforward
management of those applications with submission dates synchronizing with the University of
Florida the earliest one. That way, all institutions can be concurrently applied rather than piecemeal
this process. Anyway, it turns out that some of the law schools in question employ a rolling
admissions process where the institution can potentially notify applicants anytime inside a
window of an admissions decision. As a result, if all material checks for completeness and
accuracy, doesn t it make sense to submit all materials as early as possible?... Show more content on

To begin with, applicants must send official college transcripts using the Registrar at specific
points in the process; initially as preliminary transcripts, followed by periodic updates and finally
after graduation. Likewise, registrants having professional appraisals directed from third party
principals on their behalf utilize the Letter of Recommendation (LOR) and Evaluation services
ultimately bundling them with other CAS documentation. Figure 6.5 below provides a list of many
or most requirements and optional items that might accompany our prospect s applications,
including the transcript release forms for the Registrar and evaluation forms for individuals

instructions. Sometimes people spend so much time developing elaborate strategies and plans that
they overlook the obvious. An applicant should anticipate positive events just as diligently as
preparing for failure (via a Plan B). The significance of a rolling admissions process has the
potential for receiving notifications at different points in time. Understanding the acceptance/denial
protocols regarding the admissions process for each institution should not be disregarded. Another
aspect seeks to avoid waiting for a preference never materializing only to

The Hobbit Reflection
The novel I read this semester was The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien which was first published on
September 21, 1937. I had a positive feeling when reading the book because even though the
book has many bad events the characters have to overcome many difficult situations such as
almost being eaten by trolls and being cornered by wargs. Although the book started off slow
and it took a bit of time to adapt to the style of writing the content was full of suspense and
outcomes that I did not expect. This made the book fun to read and by far the best book I have
ever read. It was very interesting to watch Bilbo s character develop throughout the novel and see
how events and adventures impact him. The Hobbitis set in middle earth, years 2941 to 2942 of the
Third Age before the events of The Lord of the Rings. Bilbo is a young hobbit who is a respected
resident in the town of Hobbiton because his last name Baggins. Baggins is a very respectable
name because the Baggins never went on adventures and they were quite wealthy. Bilbo was
approached by Gandalf to go on an adventure and he refused but after their conversation Gandalf
puts a symbol on his door and then all of the dwarves come to his house for a party. The dwarves
ask Bildo if he wants to be a burglar and he refuses again but in the morning he changes his mind
and agrees to take on the role of burglar while on the adventure. Thorin is a dwarf who lived in the
town of Dale until he was 24 years old. His last name

Julius Caesar in the Roman Empire
Gaius Cassius Longinus, Marcus Junius Brutus, and Marcus Antonius were three key factors
during the time of Julius Caesar in the Roman Empire. Cassius and Brutus were the two main
conspirators against Caesar, and Brutus was even the one who assassinated him. Unlike the two of
them, Marcus Antonius, Mark Antony, was one of Caesar s right hand men and won many battles
for him, including one against Cassius. While Brutus and Cassius were at the head of the freight
train that was headed for Caesar, Antony stood firm, however helpless it seemed, with Caesar until
they failed on March 15, 44 BC when Caesar was killed.
The exact date of the birth of Gaius Cassius Longinus is unknown, but it was before 85 BC, so
little is known of his early life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since Brutus mother was now Caesar s lover, he was released from captivity and became a
member of the senior priesthood of the pontifices. From 47 to 45, he governed Cisalpine Gaul
(now northern Italy) for Caesar (biographybase.com). Caesar appointed him as praetor of the city
along with Gaius Cassius Longinus and named, in advance, them as consuls of 41. After Cato died
in 46, Brutus married Porcia, Cato s daughter.
For all of Brutus life, he felt optimistic about Caesar s plans but was flabbergasted when Caesar
made himself perpetual dictator and was deified as best stated by britannica.com. Always conscious
of his descent from Lucius Junius Brutus, who was said to have driven the Etruscan kings from
Rome, Brutus joined Cassius and other leading senators in the plot that led to the assassination of
Julius Caesar on March 15, 44 BC (britannica.com). Brutus and Cassius were then forced to leave
Rome by the people but remained in Italy until Mark Antony kicked the out. The two traveled to
Greece where they were assigned provinces in the east by the senate. Slowly they took over all of
the land east of Rome (that means the armies and the treasuries). Brutus took all of the wealth he
had and turned it into Roman gold/silver coins which he imprinted his face on. In the latter half of
42 BC, Brutus and Cassius fought Mark Antony and Octavian (later emperor Augustus) in two
battles near Philippi, Greece. Cassius had his freedman kill

Meteorological Conditions That Created Hurricane Sandy
Meteorological Conditions that Created Hurricane Sandy
In late October of 2012 many weather factors converged to create Hurricane Sandy, a huge storm
with winds gusting up to 90 miles per hour. This hurricane was unprecedented in modern times,
arriving late in the hurricane season, making landfall abnormally far to the north on the United
States east coast with an exceptionally low pressure and a record breaking storm surge. Sandy also
had among the most kinetic energy of all tropical cyclones on record at 222 Joules, more energy
than category 5 hurricanes, despite just being category 1 because of the large area over which she
spread.
Sandy, like all hurricanes, originated in the tropics. Normally a storm like Sandy would diminish in
intensity as it moved into colder, less energetic waters of the north, however a trough of low
pressure dipping down from the Arctic worked to intensify the storm, actually strengthening it as it
moved northward. Higher tides, because of a full moon, also are credited to an increase in flooding.
Another factor that exacerbated the situation was a block of high pressure in the northeastern
Atlantic Ocean that pushed the hurricane onshore.
There is speculation that climate change may have also have contributed to the storms intensity.
Global warming may have made Sandy wetter and stronger. Hurricanes and tropical storms are
fueled by warm water evaporating into the air. Records indicate that ocean surface temperatures are
up 0.9 degrees

Anti Catholic Beliefs In America
From being the main religion of the entire Roman Empire to its followers being exiled in the early
Puritan settlements, Catholicism and those who follow it are considered a minority in the
American society. The Puritan religion was the first religious group in the colonies to be actively
anti Catholic. America gained religious tolerance after the American Revolution, but state laws
varied on the practice of religion. The Puritan belief system stayed prevalent throughout the
centuries, influencing anti Catholic groups. Anti Catholic sentiment arises in pop culture because
of the misinterpretation in the Church s doctrine in that it never changes while our society does.

Despite the age of these systems, the Catholic Church continues to operate close to them, similar to
when they were adopted. The misunderstanding and prejudice towards these systems cause many
people to adopt anti Catholic beliefs for contemporary issues in America. The democratic political
system in America clashes with the hierarchical lineage that the Catholic Church possesses. The
problem arises when anti Catholics claim that Catholics are un American because they follow a
hierarchy, rather than the American system of democracy. The democratic system allows the
people to vote for their leader to govern them, however, the Catholic leader, the Pope, is not chosen
by the people of the Catholic Church. Un American criticism continues with the debates and
movements on Sexism and Feminism. As women s roles are changed, the Catholic Church is
keeping true to its origins by keeping the governing body, the priesthood, bishops, Cardinals, and
the Pope, a completely male role. The Church is criticized by many as being sexist and by that, un
American, for not allowing ordination for women. Many Americans / view the church s ban on
women s ordination largely in terms of democratic principles, or rights and representation (Martin).
Anti Catholics throw up these accusations of sexism without contemplating the true role of women
in the Catholic Church. Pope Francis said in an interview Look, in the Church women are more
important than men, because the church is a woman / The Church is the bride of Jesus Christ. And
the Madonna is more important that popes and bishops and priests (Ruiz). This governing structure,
as well as other beliefs of the Catholic Church, seem confusing or silly to post enlightenment ideas.
As human philosophy has developed after the Enlightenment, the Church has kept the doctrine the
same. This has not caused the anti Catholic community to criticize

immediately think of the many presidents we have had, others think of inventors, but what

arguably had the greatest impact on American society, especially African American society, in
the nineteenth century. Douglass is credited as being an abolitionist, author, editor, and
diplomat. He used literature, books, newspapers, and even speeches, to leave a long lasting
mark on our society. Douglass advised presidents and lectured to thousands about different
causes, including women s rights. A cause he felt a strong connection with was the abolishing of

Cloud Atlas
Time is the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present and future
regarded as a whole (Oxford Dictionary). David Mitchell uses his novel Cloud Atlas to explore this
complicated concept gravely. Even through the way the novel is laid out (in layers with only half of
each story given at first), each story noticeably intersects and interacts with shared characters either
in the flesh or the reincarnations of them. Similarly, this layout exhibits an attempt at postmodernist
ideas as well as metafictional ideas as the stories and ideas constantly overlap even when they are in
different timeframes. In Cloud Atlas, the stories and protagonists within Half Lives: The First Luisa
Rey Mystery and The Ghastly Ordeal of Timothy Cavendish further enhance the greater novel s
concept of time through various measures. These measures include the simple use of language, the
exploration of reincarnation, the race against time, and memories and how our remembrance of
them affects us. Mitchell s choice of tense and narration exemplifies how time and timelines affect
each story. Luisa Rey s story is told in the present tensein the third person. However, this story also
incorporates focalization shifts and point of view changes between characters. For Example,
chapter seventeen is told from Sixsmith s perspective while the chapter following is told from Bill
Smoke s perspective. In Chapter 17, Sixsmith notices that the window of his room is open and that

How Does Hume Determine Human Existence
David Hume s An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding is a work which addresses and
questions philosophical ideas through empirical epistemology. In this work, Hume focuses mainly
on ideas of custom, causality, belief, and fiction. Not only, but Hume interconnects all of these,
creating new ideas of perception, and asserts that although humans are reasonable creatures, there is
no true reason as to why we should rely on causality to determine our actions.
To illustrate, in Of the Origin of Ideas, Hume states, that during observation, rather than taking
things as a they truly are, humans have a tendency to instead contort and alter their perceptions to
work in their favor, and relate to them. For instance, Hume states, When we reflect on our past
sentiments and affections, our thought is a faithful mirror, and copies ... Show more content on

According to Hume, it is somewhat impossible to reach an idea of cause and effect. Take for
instance, ...nor is it reasonable to conclude, merely because one event, in one instance, precedes
another, that therefore the one is the cause, the other the effect. In other words, there is no reason to
infer an existence from the appearance of another. Like stated prior, given the fact that perception is
determined by past experience, Hume is correct in his statement. For instance, since perception is
subjective, it is highly unreasonable to conclude causality.
With all that said, Hume s philosophy can be applied to natural law. For example, natural laws are
moral standards that govern human nature, based on the nature of the world. However, the ideas of
natural laws were derived from instances of causality. With this in mind, it can be understood that
not only is causality unreasonable, but also, in a way, is natural law. This, however, is not to say
that natural law has no truth, but rather address the idea that both causality, as well as natural law
are merely relative

To What Extent Did The Europeans Dominate African Nations
What urged the Europeans to dominate African nations? Before the 19th century, Europeans feared
entering Africa due to disease, such as malaria, until they invented a cure in 1820. Improved
technology allowed them to venture into the country and investigate. An abundant of factors
promoted the extensive endeavor. Politics, cultural attitudes, and economics drove the European
forces to invade Africa.
In the world of politics, it was a crucially intense race for the control of African nations between
European countries. In the Berlin conference, each country was ambitious to authorize as much
territory as possible. Therefore this spiked the cause of fierce competition over areas. In the map

Free Will vs. Determinism Essay
Picture yourself in line in the cafeteria, you have two main dishes to choose from: pizza or a
plate of fierce looking meatloaf, so you decide to go with pizza. So was your decision based off of
free will or was this decision predetermined? To fully understand whether your actions resulted from
free will or determinism, we must first define each. Determinism is the idea that everything
happens due to a cause or a determinant, which is something that can be observed or measured. To
put it simply, determinism does not mean that the future can be predicted. Rather, it is a prediction
of the possible outcomes that may occur. To help predict outcomes we use facts, knowledge, and
previous experiences (Ott, par. 4). Free will, on the other hand,... Show more content on

We believe the choices we make can be made randomly if we so choose. People who believe in
free will don t understand which of our actions are free and which actions are simply illusions.
This gap in our perception, of what is free and what is just an illusion, is free will. Free will is
deceiving because we have no free will at all except in one thing, but besides that one thing, all
that we do is dictated by inner and outer nature. My purpose in writing this paper is to persuade
individuals to stop placating their egotism by believing in pseudo philosophical ideas. In order
to discover where our freedom really lies we need to look at a level of life below ours to
understand the factors that are employed. The first factor is our ancestral information, the
information already embedded within us from birth. To understand what this concept means,
picture a seed of wheat. In your mind, take that seed of wheat and bury it into the soil. As days
go by it will slowly decompose. The body of the seed will disappear, but the information on the
qualities that are going to develop does not die. What happens is, the old form transforms into a
new form but the new form will still retain all the original information. That information is the
leading cause for everything that follows. Likewise, a drop of semen contains the abstract
information from our ancestors. We come into the world with

Color Symbolism In The Great Gatsby
Gatsby has connections with many colors that assist in portraying a more extensive breakdown
of his character. The colors I feel correspond with Gatsby in the most comprehensive way are
blue, green, and yellow. Interpreting his hopefulness, naiveness, and ambition into colors
showed Fitzgerald s aspiration for the reader to envision the bigger picture. While people may
see the colors in different ways, the general idea stays prominent. Blue helps convey Gatsby s
deep loneliness and illusions of how life becomes for him. In his blue gardens men and girls
came and went. (Page 41). Attempting to create his own fantasy, he throws parties to mask his
true inner loneliness and want for Daisy. Never attending the parties himself shows he has no
desire to connect with the other rich people, but needs something to fill the gaping space he has
set aside for her. A large, blue lawn separates them and mocks him at the end of his dock. In a
sense, he has created a large barrier separating him from reality which shows with his denial of
change and feel he can start things where they left off.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

connected with his naive hopes of his future with Daisy, the light also symbolizes his

Gatsby s american dream. Conveying the sense the dream is just an illusion, it all crumbles

Gatsby s perception of Daisy as perfect. When his feelings of this were conflicted, he believed he

Incidence Rate Of Skin Cancer
Abstract: Incidence rate of skin cancer are increasing day by day. Skin cancer is one of the deadliest
forms of cancer but detected earlier can save the life time of the human being. An automated
screening system is introduced to identify the presence of skin cancer in advance. In this paper,
texture distinctiveness lesion segmentation algorithm is used. Experience and training based
characteristics of back propagation neural network is used with texture distinctiveness lesion
segmentation algorithm, for identifying the normal and abnormal portions of skin. The most
commonly occurring skin cancers are Melanoma, Basal and squamous cell carcinomaand actinic
keratosis. The proposed system is to diagnose the presence of these skin cancers with high
segmentation accuracy.
Keywords: Melanoma, segmentation, skin cancer, texture, neural network.

multiple molecular alternations [1] [2].Present diagnostic and prognostic classifications are
insufficient to make prediction for successful treatment and patient outcome [3] [4].Among many
types of cancer, Skin cancers are the most common form of cancers in human [5]. The common
types of skin cancers are melanoma, basal and squamous cell carcinoma, and Actinic Keratosis

Roller Coaster Physics Paper
Many people don t really know how a roller coaster works. According to (Amusement Park
Physics Roller Coaster. (n.d.). Retrieved November 12, 2014), roller coasters have to make a
certain height to make the first loop which is usually the highest loop of the ride . As the roller
coaster is pulled to the top of the initial hill, it gains potential energy, and the higher the hill is, the
more potential energyis stored (Sastamoinen, S Roller CoasterPhysics.) According to (Zobel, E.
(n.d.). Gravitational Potential Energy) the equation Ug=mgh, is used to figure out how much
potential is in the roller coaster. Ug (gravitational potential energy) = m(mass), g(gravity), and
h(height).

A coaster is affected by forces along its run (the force of gravity, as well as the supporting force
of the track), but if it is traveling along a straight away, forces to either side. On the other hand, if
the coaster hits a curve, it will tend to want to go forward. The track has to exert a sideways
force on the coaster to divert it from its path. The train, in turn, exerts a force on the riders. As
they continue to try to go straight, they get pinned to the side the car. Though they feel
themselves being forced to the outside of the curve (an effect commonly referred to as
centrifugal force), the force that is exerted on them is actually towards the inside (centripetal
force), because that is the direction in which they are turning. As with forces directed vertically,
lateral forces can be measured in terms of Gs. A 1 G lateral force would be equivalent to you
lying on your side (Sandborg, D. (n.d.) PHYSICS of ROLLER COASTERS). According to
(Sandborg, D. (n.d.) PHYSICS of ROLLER COASTERS). there are several factors that affect the
strength of lateral G forces: the speed of the roller coaster, the tightness of the curve, and the
amount of banking. According to (Sandborg, D. (n.d.) PHYSICS of ROLLER COASTERS)
banking is a turn is a way to convert lateral G forces into positive

Summary Of Man Ray s Disarming Venuses
In the essay, Man Ray s Disarming Venuses: Deconstructing the Classical Torso in Surrealist
Photography, the author, Kirsten A. Hoving, examines photographs created by Man Ray and how it
relates to the classical Venus sculptures. By using Man Ray s idea of deconstructing the classical
female torso in fragments, body doubling corsets, and formless figures, the author argues how those
characteristics communicate the meaning of eroticism and power within Surrealist photography
and literature. Within the first argument, the author explains how the Surrealist artists drew their
inspiration of the female torso from the ancient mythological god, Venus. Hoving noted that the
artists explored ways which the human body can appear as fragments and how it could be used
systematically. Hoving stated how the Surrealist found the female torso as a metaphor and
metamorphosis (123). The Surrealist artist went further through the exploration of the human
figure, and shocking the viewers in their depiction of mutilated, or distorted bodies. In the 1930s,
such visions have had provided the artist due to the horrors that were placed upon World War I
veterans, as they were left limbless or using prosthetics. Hoving provided an example of physical
deformity depicted in art. She talked about how one of Man Ray s photographs of Lillian Strauss.
To support his argument, Hoving discusses how Man Ray achieved the beauty of physical
deformity by deconstructing the human body and turn it into

Advertising Affects A Wide Variety
Advertising is a concept all Americans have been exposed to in their lives. It is a normal
component of life that affects Americans more than they are led to believe. Advertising is
constantly evolving. Advertising has been forced to change to meet up with the changing of times.
The price spent on advertising raises at a rapid rate each and every year. Moreover, the every
increasing money spent on advertisingshows that it is effective on reaching and influencing the
American consumer.
Advertising affects a wide variety and a large amount of people. According to The Statistics Portal,
The United States is, by far, the largest advertising market in the world. In 2015, more than 180
billion U.S. dollars were spent in advertising in the United States. This figure is more than double
the amount spent in advertising in China, the second largest ad market in the world. From this, it is
effortless to see that American s are highly exposed to advertisements.
According to the International Advertising Association, Advertising can encourage companies to
compete and provide new products. This encourages more consumers to buy because these
products meet the needs and wants of more consumers. Thus, the economy is positively affected.
In addition, advertising can help create more jobs. As the demand for products and services goes
up because of advertising, more people are needed to manufacture, supply, ship and test those
products and services. Thus, more jobs are created. It has

Inside Out, And Its Director Pete Docter
Do you ever look at someone and wonder, What is going on inside their head? This is the first
question asked in animated film, Inside Out, and its director Pete Docter s mind after noticing
his daughter s personality changing as she grew up. Using his daughter as inspiration, Pete
Docter pitched the idea to Pixar studios where it was picked up immediately for production in
2009. He consulted with numerous child psychologists to create the movie about 11 year old
girl, Riley Anderson, moving from Minnesota to San Francisco and her personified emotions to
guide her through. Because Pixar s movies are family friendly, the film s crew cleverly used color
and creative mise en scene to tell the elaborate story between Riley s mind, the world around her,
and other character s personality traits. The director has an extremely flexible medium due to the
fact that the film is an animation, having full control of the character s design, setting, lighting,
effects, and anything in between. It displays all throughout the movie, causing a great contrast,
when shifting from a character s mind to their environment, mainly being Riley. Through a series
of montages and flashbacks of Minnesota, the audience can see that the scenes are always lighted
in pastel like color, This is to represent Riley s comfort of her former home in contrast of San
Francisco which is depicted in desaturated colors. Furthermore, the animator s choice of color and
lighting for both Minnesota and San Francisco

current diction towards him as now he hopes A southwest blow on ye . Caliban discovers
Prospero s true attitude towards him as he learns the human language, as he is often referred with
animalistic and negative tones; tortoise , hag seed and poisonous slave perpetuating his low life
status. Caliban s discovery on the human language, enables him to realise his low position in
human society. Through his statement You taught me language, and my profit on t/ Is, I know how

The Sport Of Football
Football is one of the most watched sports in the United States, but it is believed to have
descended from the ancient Greek game of harpaston. Harpaston was played by a player
crossing a goal line by either kicking the ball, running with it across the goal line or throwing it
across the line to another player to earn points. Harpaston had very few rules: there was no
specific field length, no sideline boundaries, and no specified number of players per team. Most
modern forms of football are believed to originate from England during the 12th century where
kings from that time banned football because they believed it took away from the traditional sports
of England ( A Brief History ). When football first started in the United States in November... Show

From the years 1990 to 2007 the percentage of sprains, strains, broken bones, and dislocations
increased by 27 percent, and broken bones, dislocations, and concussions made up 1/3 of the
emergency room visits from children ages 6 to 17 years old (Elango) ( Long Term Damage ).
The season players of the NFL received 32 percent more head injuries in 2015 than they did in
the prior year. Doctors also widely believe that football players who receive multiple head blows
have an increased chance to get chronic traumatic encephalopathy, CTE. CTE can cause many
problems such as impaired judgment, problems controlling impulses, and dementia ( Farewell to
Football ). After Omalu was the first doctor to realize that football can cause head injuries and
brain damage other doctors also started to determine he was correct. After various doctors agreed
on this the NFL started to provide 5 million dollars to retired players who have a serious medical
condition related to head trauma starting April of 2015 (Dodd, et

The Social And Medical History For Women During 19th...
Haimabati s persona in the narrative reveals two contradictory aspects of her position and
situation in the social and medical history for women in 19th century Bengal. In a sense she was
radical, taking decisions for herself, rejecting Brahminical Hinduism, remarrying a Brahmo, and
pursuing at great risk her ambition to get educated and become self sufficient. During her
wanderings in search for education and a better life, after she left Benares, she met a woman
ruined and deserted by the man she hoped to marry. Haimabati immediately becomes sympathetic
and calls her sister , showing true female solidarity. From her own experience of being a child
wife, subjected to the traumatic experience of a middle aged man s lust and attempted... Show more

Later in the narrative, he shows the true colours of his male ego, abusing Haimabati for nothing,
beating her at times, and jeopardising her professional life. At one point he got involved in a
brawl with Haimabati s superior at her workplace, and it was she who saved him from a legal
action, by apologising for his conduct. He knew that he would never be able to earn himself, yet
it was no longer bearable to his male ego to live on his wife s income. Haimabati does not use
any harsh word to describe these feats of her husband, but her sense of irritation is not always
hidden, though she tried to wear a stoical calm and accept everything as God s will. Her willing
compromise with her husband s abuses shows how internalised patriarchy could be: being
otherwise so self sufficient she kept herself subservient to the man who, she believed, showed the
generosity of remarrying her and providing her with a respectable status in society. These
contradictions and complexities in Haimabati s life, which Indrani Sen has also noticed (60) point
towards an intriguing paradox in feminist history. Her struggle for identity, extraordinary despite all
these contradictions, shaped her personality in two ways: by resisting patriarchy and by
compromising with it.

The Cleveland Way Analysis
The opening section of the Cleveland Way begins with a leisurely stroll along the beautiful wooded
valley of the river Rye, climbing gradually to the limestone plateau of the Hambleton Hills. Pausing
at one of Yorkshire s most famous attractions the White Horse of Kilburn.
Assuming that the riches of Helmsley have already been explored, we begin our journey of
discovery from the market square. There are some superb views of Helmsley Castle as we leave
the village. The Cleveland Way meanders through the woodland to Rievaulx Bridge where a short
detour to Rievaulx Abbey is worthwhile.
The Abbey, founded in 1132, was the first Cistercian abbey in the North of England. Rievaulx s
foundation, initiated by St Bernard of Clairvaux, was part of an ambitious plan for the monastic
colonisation of Northern England and Scotland. Rievaulx soon became one of the most powerful
monasteries in England, a place for meditВation, learning and culture. The Abbey began to establish
colonies in 1136. The most important of these was Melrose Abbey, Scotland s first Cistercian
monastery, endowed by King David.
Walter l Espec, the great Norman lord of Helmsley, provided most of the abbey s land. In addition,
he granted to William, the first abbot, and his twelve monks, the present site on the banks of ...

Covering an area of about 53 acres and defended by a perimeter 1.3 miles (2km) long, this is the
largest Iron Age hill fort in Northern England. The strong defences comprised a trench 6 feet (2m)
deep with a box rampart, fronted by a timber palisade up to 13 feet (4m) high, topped with a
defended walkway. The fort occupied a dominant position, utilising the natural defences of cliffs
and steep valley sides. Furthermore, it overlooked the territory of the Brigantes tribe. Therefore it is
most likely that the Parisii tribe constructed it, as a statement of power to impress, deter and

Why Does A Movie Flop
Films are both considered an art and a form of entertainment. To make such great films, you need
an amazing director, wonderful cast and crew, and one hell of a budget. But then again if a movie
has all of these then why do some films tend to just not make it into the box office charts. Why
does a movie flopanyways? There are a lot of films that unfortunately just didn t make it and we
will be stating a few examples of them in just a few but let me just enlighten you as to why these
films tend to flop. One of the things that has to be considered is its competition.
If your film is directed by an Academy Award director with an Academy Award winning cast, but
the movie you are competing with did a great job at advertising their film especially on the social
media, your film might not make it. There are a lot of great films (technically) that flopped not
because it is an awful film but because the people just don t find it interesting enough. So here are
some films that didn t quite make it into the box office charts, some might surprise you.
#1 The Lone Ranger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So it was a big surprise when this Disney film didn t manage to make it through. Depp, alongside
Armie Hammer and Helena Bonham Cart, stars in this western action film. According to critics,
it didn t quite make because it was way too over budget and it was completely unnecessary. It
wouldn t be considered a flop if the budget is less than $375 million because that just meant that
they need to make more than $600 million to be considered profitable for the studio. But
unfortunately, the film only made $260.5 million, which still a lot for a film but obviously Disney
didn t get enough money back, that is why it is considered as a

Tim Goodwin s Passage About The Fog
London, the first great city in history to be fuelled by coal, has a portion of its history which is
blurred by the pressing issue of fog. Caused by the burning of coal and a growing population, the
fog led to the disease and the death of many people. The complications that this fog brought to the
daily lives of the English people has provided a unique situation which authors have used in
numerous literary works. Two authors who used this element in their writing are Tim Goodwin and
Charles Dickens, whose passages differ due to the different purposes and styles with which they
wrote. Tim Goodwin s passage about the fog is written in an educational manner. The style with
which he writes involves scientific elements such as the amount of

Wade and Its Impact on American Society Few Supreme Court decisions have stirred up as much controversy, vitriolic debate, and even violence as the one delivered in Roe v. Wade in 1973. Four decades later, it remains a touchstone for the culture wars in the United States and a pivot upon which much of American politics turns. In fact, the authors of Roe v. Wade : The Abortion Rights Controversy in American History state that even today, the case (and its companion cases) remains the most divisive and controversial judicial decision of the twentieth century (3). Although it is a landmark case in itself, its continuing influence on American law and politics proves that its legacy lives on far beyond its formal resolution in a court of law. Essentially, the most important points are that the cause of the case s complexity and drama is the legal relationship between men and women that the ruling mirrored and compounded, the way the medical profession was impacted, and the political significance that the issue still holds presently. One cannot understand what Roe v. Wade meant to women or to men without understanding how abortion became illegal, and that story begins in the nineteenth century. In 1821, Connecticut became the first state to explicitly criminalize abortion. The primary purpose of this law was to spell out the conditions under which the state could prosecute an abortionist for an abortion. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Promises Not Kept Summary 1.The book by John Isbister, Promises Not Kept brings to light the real truth behind poverty and the betrayal the third world received from the economics, legal, policy, and nationalism. What are the two major promises that Isbister indicates were not kept in the 20th century? A first promise was that to the leaders of the nationalist independence movements and the revolutions in the third world. They promised the people s labor would be used for their own progress and not for the enrichment of others. Almost all the nationalist leaders made this promisebut as we know not very many kept it. The goal was to end poverty, I believe and as we know poverty is still alive and growing daily. Ending poverty was a major movement towards independence but was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The term poor used here is that of poor countries and not just of the poor people in them. I don t mean to laugh but that promise does cause a chuckle. I don t believe the rich would ever work with the poor. The rich would want to come in and take over to earn the prestige of doing a good deed. They would want the notoriety or fame of it all. As stated by Brad Pitt, By the time this concert ends this evening, 30,000 Africans will have died because of extreme poverty. This just is one example of how bad poverty is. Yes, I do agree with Isbister on his position. More rich countries like the U.S. could do more in the fight to end poverty and lead the other nations to do more as well. But first I believe that the U.S. needs to focus on their own people and then help other poor countries. The United States has so many citizens that live below the poverty level and that numbers grows daily. I am not saying that there are not good people in the world or in the rich countries, but I am saying more of the leadership in the countries needs to step up and lead by example. He could just keep quiet but his professionalism made him to do the other way round. Circumstances of When Whistleblowing Is Ethically Justifiable When we talk about whistleblowing and loyalty to a firm, we need to ask a number of questions: Do engineers have a duty of loyalty to their organizations? If so, engineers have a duty to act to the best interest of the firm, then is whistleblowing ever ethically justifiable? Always, people treat loyalty as a virtue. We were taught from young to be loyal to our friends, family and our country. However, in the case of loyalty to a firm, it could be a little different. Loyalty to a corporation is more on dedication and devotion to the development of the firm. Based on that, we can say that if the whistle blowing is for the good cause to the company s future, we may not say it is ethically wrong or the person is not loyal. For example, if your boss ask you to ignore some flaws or wrongdoings in a company project, you know the severe consequences for not solving those problems, then it is your duty to whistle blowing, because you are responsible to the company s future and the society, you are loyal to the objective of the company not to a wrongdoing person. • 16. Meteorological Conditions That Created Hurricane Sandy Meteorological Conditions that Created Hurricane Sandy In late October of 2012 many weather factors converged to create Hurricane Sandy, a huge storm with winds gusting up to 90 miles per hour. This hurricane was unprecedented in modern times, arriving late in the hurricane season, making landfall abnormally far to the north on the United States east coast with an exceptionally low pressure and a record breaking storm surge. Sandy also had among the most kinetic energy of all tropical cyclones on record at 222 Joules, more energy than category 5 hurricanes, despite just being category 1 because of the large area over which she spread. Sandy, like all hurricanes, originated in the tropics. Normally a storm like Sandy would diminish in intensity as it moved into colder, less energetic waters of the north, however a trough of low pressure dipping down from the Arctic worked to intensify the storm, actually strengthening it as it moved northward. Higher tides, because of a full moon, also are credited to an increase in flooding. Another factor that exacerbated the situation was a block of high pressure in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean that pushed the hurricane onshore. There is speculation that climate change may have also have contributed to the storms intensity. Global warming may have made Sandy wetter and stronger. Hurricanes and tropical storms are fueled by warm water evaporating into the air. Records indicate that ocean surface temperatures are up 0.9 degrees ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Cloud Atlas Time is the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present and future regarded as a whole (Oxford Dictionary). David Mitchell uses his novel Cloud Atlas to explore this complicated concept gravely. Even through the way the novel is laid out (in layers with only half of each story given at first), each story noticeably intersects and interacts with shared characters either in the flesh or the reincarnations of them. Similarly, this layout exhibits an attempt at postmodernist ideas as well as metafictional ideas as the stories and ideas constantly overlap even when they are in different timeframes. In Cloud Atlas, the stories and protagonists within Half Lives: The First Luisa Rey Mystery and The Ghastly Ordeal of Timothy Cavendish further enhance the greater novel s concept of time through various measures. These measures include the simple use of language, the exploration of reincarnation, the race against time, and memories and how our remembrance of them affects us. Mitchell s choice of tense and narration exemplifies how time and timelines affect each story. Luisa Rey s story is told in the present tensein the third person. However, this story also incorporates focalization shifts and point of view changes between characters. For Example, chapter seventeen is told from Sixsmith s perspective while the chapter following is told from Bill Smoke s perspective. In Chapter 17, Sixsmith notices that the window of his room is open and that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. How Does Hume Determine Human Existence David Hume s An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding is a work which addresses and questions philosophical ideas through empirical epistemology. In this work, Hume focuses mainly on ideas of custom, causality, belief, and fiction. Not only, but Hume interconnects all of these, creating new ideas of perception, and asserts that although humans are reasonable creatures, there is no true reason as to why we should rely on causality to determine our actions. To illustrate, in Of the Origin of Ideas, Hume states, that during observation, rather than taking things as a they truly are, humans have a tendency to instead contort and alter their perceptions to work in their favor, and relate to them. For instance, Hume states, When we reflect on our past sentiments and affections, our thought is a faithful mirror, and copies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Hume, it is somewhat impossible to reach an idea of cause and effect. Take for instance, ...nor is it reasonable to conclude, merely because one event, in one instance, precedes another, that therefore the one is the cause, the other the effect. In other words, there is no reason to infer an existence from the appearance of another. Like stated prior, given the fact that perception is determined by past experience, Hume is correct in his statement. For instance, since perception is subjective, it is highly unreasonable to conclude causality. With all that said, Hume s philosophy can be applied to natural law. For example, natural laws are moral standards that govern human nature, based on the nature of the world. However, the ideas of natural laws were derived from instances of causality. With this in mind, it can be understood that not only is causality unreasonable, but also, in a way, is natural law. This, however, is not to say that natural law has no truth, but rather address the idea that both causality, as well as natural law are merely relative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before the 19th century, Europeans feared entering Africa due to disease, such as malaria, until they invented a cure in 1820. Politics, cultural attitudes, and economics drove the European forces to invade Africa. In the world of politics, it was a crucially intense race for the control of African nations between European countries. Free Will vs. Determinism Essay Picture yourself in line in the cafeteria, you have two main dishes to choose from: pizza or a plate of fierce looking meatloaf, so you decide to go with pizza. So was your decision based off of free will or was this decision predetermined? To fully understand whether your actions resulted from free will or determinism, we must first define each. Determinism is the idea that everything happens due to a cause or a determinant, which is something that can be observed or measured. To put it simply, determinism does not mean that the future can be predicted. Rather, it is a prediction of the possible outcomes that may occur. To help predict outcomes we use facts, knowledge, and previous experiences (Ott, par. 4). Free will, on the other hand,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We believe the choices we make can be made randomly if we so choose. People who believe in free will don t understand which of our actions are free and which actions are simply illusions. This gap in our perception, of what is free and what is just an illusion, is free will. Free will is deceiving because we have no free will at all except in one thing, but besides that one thing, all that we do is dictated by inner and outer nature. My purpose in writing this paper is to persuade individuals to stop placating their egotism by believing in pseudo philosophical ideas. In order to discover where our freedom really lies we need to look at a level of life below ours to understand the factors that are employed. The first factor is our ancestral information, the information already embedded within us from birth. To understand what this concept means, picture a seed of wheat. In your mind, take that seed of wheat and bury it into the soil. As days go by it will slowly decompose. The body of the seed will disappear, but the information on the qualities that are going to develop does not die. What happens is, the old form transforms into a new form but the new form will still retain all the original information. That information is the leading cause for everything that follows. Likewise, a drop of semen contains the abstract information from our ancestors. We come into the world with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The colors I feel correspond with Gatsby in the most comprehensive way are blue, green, and yellow. Interpreting his hopefulness, naiveness, and ambition into colors showed Fitzgerald s aspiration for the reader to envision the bigger picture. While people may see the colors in different ways, the general idea stays prominent. Blue helps convey Gatsby s deep loneliness and illusions of how life becomes for him. In his blue gardens men and girls came and went. (Page 41). Attempting to create his own fantasy, he throws parties to mask his true inner loneliness and want for Daisy. Never attending the parties himself shows he has no desire to connect with the other rich people, but needs something to fill the gaping space he has set aside for her. A large, blue lawn separates them and mocks him at the end of his dock. In a sense, he has created a large barrier separating him from reality which shows with his denial of change and feel he can start things where they left off.... The train, in turn, exerts a force on the riders. As they continue to try to go straight, they get pinned to the side the car. Hoving, examines photographs created by Man Ray and how it relates to the classical Venus sculptures. By using Man Ray s idea of deconstructing the classical female torso in fragments, body doubling corsets, and formless figures, the author argues how those characteristics communicate the meaning of eroticism and power within Surrealist photography and literature. Within the first argument, the author explains how the Surrealist artists drew their inspiration of the female torso from the ancient mythological god, Venus. Hoving noted that the artists explored ways which the human body can appear as fragments and how it could be used systematically. Hoving stated how the Surrealist found the female torso as a metaphor and metamorphosis (123). He consulted with numerous child psychologists to create the movie about 11 year old girl, Riley Anderson, moving from Minnesota to San Francisco and her personified emotions to guide her through. Because Pixar s movies are family friendly, the film s crew cleverly used color and creative mise en scene to tell the elaborate story between Riley s mind, the world around her, and other character s personality traits. In a sense she was radical, taking decisions for herself, rejecting Brahminical Hinduism, remarrying a Brahmo, and pursuing at great risk her ambition to get educated and become self sufficient. During her wanderings in search for education and a better life, after she left Benares, she met a woman ruined and deserted by the man she hoped to marry. Haimabati immediately becomes sympathetic and calls her sister , showing true female solidarity. From her own experience of being a child wife, subjected to the traumatic experience of a middle aged man s lust and attempted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later in the narrative, he shows the true colours of his male ego, abusing Haimabati for nothing, beating her at times, and jeopardising her professional life. At one point he got involved in a brawl with Haimabati s superior at her workplace, and it was she who saved him from a legal action, by apologising for his conduct. He knew that he would never be able to earn himself, yet it was no longer bearable to his male ego to live on his wife s income. Haimabati does not use any harsh word to describe these feats of her husband, but her sense of irritation is not always hidden, though she tried to wear a stoical calm and accept everything as God s will. Her willing compromise with her husband s abuses shows how internalised patriarchy could be: being otherwise so self sufficient she kept herself subservient to the man who, she believed, showed the generosity of remarrying her and providing her with a respectable status in society. These contradictions and complexities in Haimabati s life, which Indrani Sen has also noticed (60) point towards an intriguing paradox in feminist history. Her struggle for identity, extraordinary despite all these contradictions, shaped her personality in two ways: by resisting patriarchy and by compromising with it. Pausing at one of Yorkshire s most famous attractions the White Horse of Kilburn. Assuming that the riches of Helmsley have already been explored, we begin our journey of discovery from the market square. There are some superb views of Helmsley Castle as we leave the village. The Cleveland Way meanders through the woodland to Rievaulx Bridge where a short detour to Rievaulx Abbey is worthwhile. The Abbey, founded in 1132, was the first Cistercian abbey in the North of England. Rievaulx s foundation, initiated by St Bernard of Clairvaux, was part of an ambitious plan for the monastic colonisation of Northern England and Scotland. Rievaulx soon became one of the most powerful monasteries in England, a place for meditВation, learning and culture. The Abbey began to establish colonies in 1136. The most important of these was Melrose Abbey, Scotland s first Cistercian monastery, endowed by King David. Walter l Espec, the great Norman lord of Helmsley, provided most of the abbey s land. In addition, he granted to William, the first abbot, and his twelve monks, the present site on the banks of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Covering an area of about 53 acres and defended by a perimeter 1.3 miles (2km) long, this is the largest Iron Age hill fort in Northern England. The strong defences comprised a trench 6 feet (2m) deep with a box rampart, fronted by a timber palisade up to 13 feet (4m) high, topped with a defended walkway. The fort occupied a dominant position, utilising the natural defences of cliffs and steep valley sides. Furthermore, it overlooked the territory of the Brigantes tribe. Therefore it is most likely that the Parisii tribe constructed it, as a statement of power to impress, deter and intimidate their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So here are some films that didn t quite make it into the box office charts, some might surprise you. #1 The Lone Ranger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So it was a big surprise when this Disney film didn t manage to make it through. Depp, alongside Armie Hammer and Helena Bonham Cart, stars in this western action film. According to critics, it didn t quite make because it was way too over budget and it was completely unnecessary. It wouldn t be considered a flop if the budget is less than $375 million because that just meant that they need to make more than $600 million to be considered profitable for the studio. But unfortunately, the film only made $260.5 million, which still a lot for a film but obviously Disney didn t get enough money back, that is why it is considered as a ...
