Texas Essay
The main objective of this paper is to compare and contrast the leaders, precisely senators, who have
lead in the State of Texas, United States. The Senators are believed to have made key achievements
during their career in politics. The paper will particularly focus on Senator Kay Hutchison, Texas
senator in the period 1993 through 2013, and Senator Ralph Yarborough, Texas Senator 1957 to 1972.
Subsequently, the paper undertakes to review the key policies the senators made and the impact of
these policies to the people of Texas.
In the education sector, Senator Kay and Senator Ralph played an influential role in supporting and
enacting policies to promote learning in Texas. Apart from the Bilingual Education Act that Ralph
Yarborough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These bills enacted show the milestone that Hutchison made in the improvement of learning in the
education sector.
In the health sector, Ralph Yarbrough co sponsored the Medicare Bill that brought about ease of access
to health services by old people. It made available insurance on the wellbeing of the financially
challenged and the senior citizens (Cox Patrick). Kay, on the other hand, enacted a policy that mainly
touched on women s health. Senator Hutchison, together with the senator of Maryland wrote a policy
that enabled women at home to have collateral for their old age just as those that were in the white
collar jobs. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Kay also secured money amounting to more than seventy
million dollars that could help finance the treatment of Texan Veterans who suffered from the Gulf
War Syndrome.
Whereas Senator Ralph Yarborough was an opponent of the Veteran War of the Texans, Kay
Hutchison was a protagonist of the rights of the veterans in the state. Senator Ralph is considered to
have been one of the best policymakers in the history of Texas. Having been a senator from the South
and a vocal opponent of the Vietnam War, Ralph is famously known as the only senator who voted for
the Civil Rights Act, (Silbey Joel). On the contrary, Kay championed for the upgrading of education
for the Texan Veterans. Senator Hutchison further advocated the healthcare policies for the children of
retired veterans. Further, she endeavored to keep the Texas Military

The Myths of Families Essay
Question 1: In The Way We Never Were, Stephanie Coontz suggests that society romanticizes past
generations of family life and points out that these memories are merely myths that prevent us from
dealing more effectively with the problems facing today s families (Coontz x). Coontz proposes that
researchers can take empirical data and create misleading causality for that data, thus feeding cultural
myth and/or experience. Coontz believes that an overemphasis on personal responsibility for
strengthening family values encourages a way of thinking that leads to moralizing rather than
mobilizing for concrete reforms (Coontz 22). She calls on us to direct our attention to social reforms,
which can be accomplished by avoiding victim blaming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coontz calls on her readers to avoid victim blaming strategies and to try to ask questions that raise
demands for social reform in order to decrease this conflict. In Fun Home, Alison Bechdel
demonstrates how myth and stereotyping contribute to the construction of prejudice. Alison s father,
Bruce Bechdel, lived a false life by denying his sexual orientation and created the illusion of a normal
family life. By marrying a female and creating offspring, he perpetuated the public illusion that he had
the perfect home and family. Despite this myth of perfect domestication, the true private life of the
Bechdel family could be described as dysfunctional. Bechdel witnessed only two gestures of action
between (Bechdel 68) her parents, which consisted of her father giving her mother a chaste peck
before leaving on a weekend trip (Bechdel 68) and one time when her mother put her hand on his back
(Bechdel 68) as they watched television. Bechdel writes how on both occasions, she was astonished
and discomforted (Bechdel 68) and suggests that both her mother and father preferred fiction to reality
(Bechdel 85). Both Bruce Bechdel and his wife, lived in a world where they did not acknowledge
reality; it was easier for them to live a lie then to come to terms with Bruce s homosexual identity. The
conflict within the family could be attributed to Bruce s suppression of his sexuality, which in turn,
could be attributed to growing up in a time period when it was

A Study On Postpartum Sex Taboo Essay
In an attempt to explain why certain societies have a postpartum sex taboo, anthropologist John
Whiting discovered the statistical association that, Societies with apparently low protein diets tend to
have long postpartum sex taboos (Ember 54). Based off of this association, Whiting went on to
theorize that a long postpartum sex taboo may be an adaptation to tropical environments, particularly
where the major food staples are low in protein (Ember 54). He argued that children in these areas
were prone to the protein deficiency disease called kawashiorkor (Ember 54), so if mothers abstained
from sex for a year, therefore eliminating the possibility of having another child, the first child would
be able to nurse longer and possibly have a lower risk for contracting the disease. In order to test his
theory, Whiting sampled 172 societies (Ember 62) and divided them into a table based off of the
duration the postpartum sex taboo, with a long taboo being anything over a year and short being
anything under. Additionally, he also divided the societies into high, medium, and low protein
societies, with low surviving on root and tree crops (Ember 61), medium on cereal crops (Ember 61),
and high on hunting, fishing, or herding (Ember 61). Personally, when reading about the theory and
analyzing the evidence supporting it, I am accepting of the theory s proposition, but do not support it
entirely, simply because I feel that there should be a bit more convincing evidence.

Standard Scores
2. What is a standard score?
A standard score is a scores that enables us to refer to the performance of an individual pupil in
relation to the whole population where the mean is 100 and the standard deviation is usually 15. It also
allows schools to base their assessments per school year. This is due to standarised scores taking into
account the age of the pupil. A pupil in year 9 that has a date of birth of September would generally be
expected to get a higher raw score than a pupil born in July, both pupils being in the same academic
year. However, when calculating the standard score the age will be taken into account. This ensures
that relevant interventions/arrangements can be put in place for pupils based on the standard score.
3. What scores are considered to fall within the average range?
Standardised scores that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One standard deviation is usually represented by 15 points from the mean. 2 standard deviations are
calculated usually by 30 points from the mean.
One standard deviation away from the mean in either direction represents around 68% of the
population that took that test. Two standard deviations away from the mean represent 95% of the
population.
8. What is reliability? What reliability should we choose when selecting a test?
Reliability of a test is measured by how accurate and consistent that test is when measuring a target
skill. For a test to be reliable it must have reliability of 0.8 or over. A reliable test should give us a
consistent score every time it is completed, i.e. if it a pupil was to complete the same test that was
delivered by 2 different assessors on 2 different days, a reliable test should still give us the same
outcome on both tests on both days.
9. What is validity? Name and describe the three mains types of validity.
Validity is a measurement of how well a test measures the skill that needs to be

Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth of England
Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth of England
Sixteenth century England experienced a phenomenon sometimes referred to as the Age of Queens.
The decisive power of the country was placed in women s hands and their reigns were watched with a
reasonable doubt. There is contrast of rule in terms of reigns between Queen Mary and Queen
Elizabeth of England, both of whom were engaged in a protracted struggle for the English throne.
Beside the legitimacy of their claims, there are more significant considerations which predestined
them to either increase or lose their power. The rule and attitudes of the two monarchs bore significant
influence upon the times in which they lived, including social, political and legal precedents which
were being challenged and in some cases reversed. The fact that both Queens encountered situations
of striking similarity, serves as a suitable example for a remarkable comparison, helping to analyze the
lives of the two Queens and how their lives diverged as a result of such encounters and their actions
thereafter. They were both Queens, struggling for the throne, they were women as well as rivals; they
both had affairs with married men, however, one managed a narrow escape from the disgraceful
situation, while the other failed to do so. Mary grew to hate Anne Boleyn, mother of Elizabeth,
because he took the position of her mother Catharine as Queen of England. Before Elizabeth came to
the scene, Mary was loved and was the only child of King Henry VIII of

The Kojiki Myths
The Kojiki myths serve to legitimize the Yamato rulers by articulating the family relationship between
the Yamato rulers and ancient deities and the creation of the primitive Japanese Island. Illustrated in
the myth, Japanese imperial family is actually the descendant of gods, Izanami and Izanagi, who
create the islands of Japan. Since deities use supernatural power to bring Japanese islands into
existence and gods have reigned the area for such a long time, it is natural for Japanese to accept that
the Yamato rulers, the offsprings of gods with magical power, have undeniable reasons to reign over
Japan. The Man yoshu poems, on the other hand, are written to praise the supernatural power of
Yamato emperors and to express the collective reverence

Challenges And Opportunities For The Government Digital...
Every invention is faced by challenges and opportunities, which need to be taken into consideration.
Innovation doesn t only look at having an idea but solving a solution to a problem and adapting ideas,
which have already existed. Innovation is the specific tool for entrepreneurs, the means by which they
exploit change as an opportunity for a different business or service . (Joe Tidd, 1997)
This essay will deliver an outline on the challenges and opportunities for the government digital
service, in order to give a more reflective view, the essay will be fragmented into smaller segments,
considering these questions in the case study that has been presented which can provide an easier way
of understanding what opportunities and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additional challenges in which the government digital services are facing is they are trying to make
services digital only, however, not everyone has access to a digital devices such as smartphones,
laptops or tablets to access digital services, therefore excluding the general public. By excluding the
general public, the government digital service face the challenges of innovating the new service as it is
not able to understand their needs fully, therefore cannot come with better ways of bridging the gap
between the government and the citizens who are excluded from it.
Furthermore, another challenge in which is facing the government digital service is shifting the
website onto a more mobile platform such as smartphones due to the fragile nature of the data being
handled on an app, there is an issue of data being stored and handled securely. This affects the aim of
the GDS, as it wants to provide the services in an easier and faster method. It can be disputed with the
rise of smartphones, it would be the most effected if it didn t have an issue of trust. This would be an
innovative challenge, as you cannot exploit the gap in the market for mobile devices.
Opportunities regarding the government digital service can be examined through services such as open
data, as it allows a combination of different sources to be accessible to the government. Instead of
duplication of the data, it will enable the data to be utilized in a more effective manner. It can

Essay On Program Evaluation
Program Evaluation The Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program at the University of
Texas at Arlington has helped me to grow both personally and professionally. The top three take
aways from this program that I feel can be utilized in any career path include the knowledge I gained
on how to conduct and present action research, the writing skillset I developed which aided me in
becoming a better writer, and the training I received on how to be an effective leader. At the beginning
of this program I expected to learn how to be a principal. However, during the process I realized I
learned much more. For example, I learned how to lead using content knowledge and interpersonal
skills in order to create lasting and effective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These chats should include a moderator who is a current and experienced administrator within a
school district. Online chats would be an excellent way to make connections and/or friendships with
people who will be impacting the future of education. Lastly, I believe that students would benefit
from conducting an action research project in a group versus completing a project alone. During our
program we learned about allowing for different formats during assessment or classroom activities.
Therefore, I believe that some students may have preferred working with a group on such a significant
project. The fact that students would be allowed to work with people from different backgrounds and
with different personality types to complete a project would equate with real world experience. The
opportunity to work with people is why the practicum is such a valuable experience. However, one
cannot carefully evaluate the practicum for this program without a brief discussion about mentors. The
mentor I chose for this program was approachable and generous with her time and knowledge. I felt
comfortable enough to ask questions or admit mistakes in order to learn. At the onset of the practicum
my mentor was just my boss. At the end of the practicum I esteemed her as a colleague and friend. I
believe that I was able to experience so much during the

Dispute System Design
Summary
The grievance procedure for current employees at Indiana State University applies to full time with
benefits (37.5/40 hours per week) or regular part time with benefits (20 or more hours per week). The
policy doesn t apply to staff members that are in the introductory period of there employment and any
sexual harassment and other discriminations such as race, sex, age, national origin, sexual orientation,
religion, disability, or veteran status. The first step is mediation and it is the employee s obligation to
make an appointment to talk to the employee s immediate supervisor within two weeks of the
confrontation. The steps taken when meeting with the supervisor is: 1. State the issue in an accurate
written statement. 2. Have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

response within ten working days. The Human Resources will then hand deliver copies of the
response to the grievant and the supervisor by 4:30 p.m. of the next business day. Extended time limits
can be granted at any of these steps if both parties mutually agree in writing.
Flow chart Will be handed in with the hard copy.
2. Strengths
Indiana State s process of policy grievance is a three step system in which the employee has to take
action and file a form to the supervisor for an appointment. The supervisor then looks over the file and
then meets with the employee and witnesses. Then the supervisor has five days to go over the facts
presented to him and returns a response to the employee and the human resources department. This is
an example of building a consultation before, then giving the feedback after reviewed.
The process of the second step if the grievance is not resolved the employee has to contact the human
resources employee relations representative. The form given to the employee is marked with questions
such as: where did the incident occur, facts and exact information, and a suggested resolution. This
step goes with putting the focus on interests and keeping it

Americaā€™s Food Crisis, by Bryan Walsh Essay
American society has grown so accustomed to receiving their food right away and in large quantities.
Only in the past few decades has factory farming come into existence that has made consuming food a
non guilt free action. What originally was a hamburger with slaughtered cow meat is now slaughtered
cow meat that s filled with harmful chemicals. Not only that, the corn that that cow was fed with is
also filled with chemicals to make them grow at a faster rate to get that hamburger on a dinner plate as
quickly as possible. Bryan Walsh, a staff writer for Time Magazine specializing in environmental
issues discusses in his article America s Food Crisis how our food is not only bad for us but dangerous
as well. The word dangerous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Manure lagoons, mostly located near factory farms, is another danger that affects workers and the
environment or community. A pig produces approximately four times the amount of waste a human
does, and what factory farms do with that mess gets comparatively little oversight, (Walsh 169). The
process is a very dangerous one in of itself to ensure that the waste is gone and the factories can
continue producing bacon and ham steaks for millions of people. A Rolling Stone Journalist, Jeff
Tietz, wrote an article about these lagoons that Smithfield Foods controls. He goes into detail about
how toxic these lagoons are and the effects they can have on workers. He tells a story about an
incident in a lagoon in Michigan for the company. A worker was overcome by the fumes and fell in.
His fifteen year old nephew dived in to save him but was overcome, the worker s cousin went in to
save the teenager but was overcome, the worker s older brother dived in to save them but was
overcome, and then the worker s father dived in. They all died in pig shit, (Tietz). Workers across the
country are being put under these conditions in these levels of toxicities every day not knowing if this
might happen to them. These manure lagoons can also be dangerous to the surrounding communities
as well. Walsh writes, Most hog waste is disposed of

all of the facts. The story prepares us to the shocking end through three ways which are contained in
the three distinct sections of the tale; a factual opening scene, a flashback to give some basic history,
and a fast paced ending. The story begins with clear, easy, declarative sentences of a man standing
upon a railroad bridge, staring down into the fast waters 24 feet below. The man s wrists are bound
with a cord behind his back and his neck is circled by a loosely tied rope that is attached to a timber
just above his head. As the story continues it becomes clear that this man is about to be killed by army

Stylistic Devices In The Opening Ceremony
Another tendency noted in the British newspapers is the frequent use of stylistic devices such as
oxymoron, antithesis or paradoxes, in order to describe the opening ceremony and Britain. Most of
them were retrieved from The Guardian, but they were present in all the newspapers:
The latter sentence suggests that the opening ceremony, and by extension the country itself, tends to
be described as a contradictory entity. This tendency is confirmed above all in The Guardian and in
The Times. As far as the adjectives are concerned, one can see that The Guardian is more objective
than The Independent, which only showcased Britain and the opening ceremony under a very positive
light. However, a majority of positive qualifications were used, and Matthew Caines, from The
Guardian, pointed out that the newspaper was pretty much all out of adjectives to describe the
spectacle.

Reaction to Boyle s Socialist Vision of the United Kingdom
Whereas the majority of the audience praised the opening ceremony, some did not agree with the
general burst of enthusiasm. As mentioned in a previous section, one recurrent negative adjective that

That controversy ensued from a series of tweets posted by the British Conservative Member of
Parliament for Cannock Chase, Aidan Burley, on July 27, 2012, during the London 2012 opening
ceremony. The MP fiercely denounced the social and multicultural aspect depicted in the spectacle,
labelling it leftie, multicultural crap . The actual tweets were:

Don t Waste Time With Time Management
Don t Waste Time With Time Management
By Laura Ashley Timms
Nov 24, 2011
We ve all heard of the concept of Time Management, but how many of us would claim that we have
really mastered it?
How do you succeed at managing your time? There is more to it than simply having and following a
schedule, as anybody who has tried this approach knows. Trying to organise what you already do in a
day to fit into a smaller space of time will not be possible simply because you type it up and print it
out as an itinerary or write it down in a planner. For this reason we talk instead about Time Leverage,
a more practical approach to making sure that your time is being used as effectively as possible.
Time is a restricted resource.
Some companies may have bigger start up funds or a better network of potential clients, but
everybody is gifted the same amount of time in a day. Planning how to use the time you are given
should not be a matter of working through a to do list as fast as you possibly can. Whilst this may
make you super efficient, it may not be moving you towards your goals. For instance, you may be
incredibly organised in checking your mail and emails daily, with a small or empty inbox, but if you
never find a moment to email or call a potential new client or an important contact, you simply remain
static, performing tasks which will not move you closer to your or your organisation s goals.
Be effective, not just efficient.
You will hopefully, as a business owner, already

Dear White People Analysis
A Netflix TV show, Dear White People produced by Justin Simien, is about the students of Winchester
University. This show tends to target not only the Netflix customers, but the black and white audience
as well; the entire first season generally focuses on the media, racial, and gender roles within the
community as well as the mainstream problem of the unrecognized white privilege by white skinned
people. Looking up who the producer is, it turns out that Simien is a black skinned man. Therefore, he
fully understands the politics and the human behavior towards the black race from the white race
(considering racism towards people with his skin color has been around for so long). Being black
skinned is already clear for many people to assume that he probably has dealt with the racism majority
of his life, considering the repeating themes throughout the show. Even with the title, the producer is
purposefully calling out to the specific audiences in a straightforward way. According to some
reviews, many have concluded that Dear White People is extremely offensive to them. While
watching the show, there were a few significant and periodic themes that showed throughout the first
season and the major themes I chose were important how the roles of media played throughout the
show. As a result, the roles of the media within the show reveals that people tend to communicate to
the public of who they they really are as a person by showing what they want the public to see them

Biological Bases Of Emotion
Emotion is a complex, subjective experience accompanied by biological and behavioral changes.
Emotion involves feeling, thinking, activation of the nervous system, physiological changes, and
behavioral changes in human s such as facial expressions. People in different cultures can identify the
six basic emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise, and disgust. The physiological indicators
of emotion are similar in people from different cultures. In some researches people who can see and
people who have been blind since birth have similar facial expressions of emotions. This observation
suggests that facial expressions are innate, since blind people could not have learned these expressions
by observing others. People in different cultures ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Brewing Co Of Michigan Breweries
Over the last 20 plus years, there has been a rapidly growing number of craft breweries in the United
States, including the State of Michigan. According to the official State of Michigan Pure Michigan
website (http://www.michigan.org/breweries/), The craft beer craze is sweeping Michigan, making it
fifth in the nation in the number of breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs. The Michigan Beer
Guide (2016), lists 259 different craft brewers in its current issue.
While there seem to be many success stories, there are also examples of Michigan breweries that have
gone out of business. According to Steven R. Reed (2013), Michigan Brewing Co. founder ... took the
Webberville company into bankruptcy this week, seven months after one of 300 plus creditors forced
the auction of his equipment along with brands that had developed a statewide following. As a
personal observer of this story during its unfolding, to casual appearances, this was a busy, successful
micro brewery. This micro brewery was one of the first in Michigan to take advantage of the growing
popularity of the niche, yet suffered an untimely end. Craft breweries can, obviously, fail like any

One of the reputed benefits which have allowed the new craft beer industry to grow and thrive is the

The Molecular Formula For Thalidomide
Thalidomide Essay
By Chloe Mc Gee

(R) Thalidomide (S) Thalidomide
The molecular formula for thalidomide is C13H10N2O4 and it has a molar mass of 258.23g/mol.
Some of the trade names for thalidomide are thalomid, immunoprin, talidex and talizer. The main use
of thalidomide today is mainly as a treatment for certain cancers and leprosy. Thalidomide was
developed by a German firm called Chemie Grunenthal. It was first developed as an anticonvulsant
drug, but failed to be effective as an anticonvulsant drug. It was also tested as an antihistamine and
anti biotic. Through early trials they discovered it would not be suitable for this purpose. The drug
thalidomide became first marketed as an over the counter drug in 1957 called contergan and was
mainly prescribed to pregnant women for morning sickness it was also given as a drug to calm
children. Thalidomide beforehand had however been prescribed as an antidepressant, it was thought to
be effective for both morning sickness and depression. From the 1st of October in 1957 thalidomide
was available over the counter in West Germany. Soon after the drug became available to buy over the
counter between 5000 to 7000 women gave birth to a child with some sort of defect. The first baby

The Rates Of Teen Pregnancy Essay
INTRODUCTION Throughout the United States, rates of teen pregnancy are significantly high. In
2013, there were 26.5 births for every 1,000 adolescent females ages 15 19, or 273,105 babies born to
females in this age group.1 Young, minority women between the ages of 15 and 24 appear to be at
greater risk for becoming pregnant. Minority populations are also linked with low socioeconomic
status, whether in terms of education or income, or both. Having low income and lower levels of
education (the most commonly used measures of SES) were also associated with increased risk for
unintended pregnancies, with 62% of pregnancies being unintended among those earning 200% of the
FPL.2 In addition, with minority populations growing rapidly, many of these young women and their
families live in smaller, more rural areas. According to one study, in rural and small town areas the
Hispanic population increased by 1.9 million or 46 percent between 2000 and 2010.3 In rural areas
there is often limited access to nearby health care facilities. With income, education and living
inadequacies, these young women face complications with availability and ready access to
contraception, and are therefore less likely to practice effective utilization of contraceptives. There is
evidence that minority and low SES women are less likely to use contraception overall, use different
contraceptive methods, and have higher rates of contraceptive failure than white and higher SES
women.2 Cultural beliefs and

Death And The King Horseman Analysis
In an interview with The Guardian (2009) Wole Soyinka explained that the motivation behind writing
Death and the King s Horseman was a bust of colonialist, Winston Churchill. To Soyinka, Churchill
signified the breaking of the Yoruba culture and traditions. The idea for the play came from an
instance during the colonial period in Nigeria, when the British intervened in the traditional suicide of
a king s horseman.
The title itself already makes reference to a Nigerian ritual in which the horseman of a king must kill
himself after the death of the king (McNulty, 2011:2). The biggest event of cultural misunderstanding
is evident in Act II when the British Officer, Pilkings, orders that Elesin Oba (the horseman) be
arrested. Joseph (the stableboy) tells the Pilkingses how it is tradition for the king to be burried a
month after his death but, before he can be burried, his dog, his steed and his horseman must die to be
able to accompany him to heaven. For long this tradition is questioned and contested by the Pilkingses
because how can something like that make sense to anybody? It is only once Olunde shows up in Act
IV that the playwright changes the context. Olunde compares the suicide of the horseman to the mass
killing of soldiers. He judges the Western customs of war in the same way the Westerners criticized his
traditions and people. And when Simon manages to stop Elesin from killing himself, Olunde turns his
back on his father at first, after which all the people from the market insults Elesin. His failure in the
task is seen as a weak will.
Another custom that is present is when, in Act II, the officer and his wife are getting ready for a ball
and Amusa shows up. Amusa refuses to speak to Pilkings because of his costume, a uniform the
Yoruban culture believes brings death. He tells Pilkings to put on other clothes as It is a matter of
death. How can a man talk against death to a person in uniform of death? p25. The British officer
cannot understand the rubbish because it is not part of his customs. To him it is clothing a fun outift to
wear to the ball with no abilitiy to cause death. But no matter how he tries to explain it, Amusa keeps
strong in his belief.
A simple thing to a Westerner, such as a

Transmission Fluid Leaks
Checking for Transmission Fluid Leaks
If you have any concerns at all about your transmission, the first thing you should do is check for
transmission fluid leaks. Sometimes it s easy to determine that your transmission fluid is leaking, and
sometimes it takes a little bit more meddling to figure out what s going on.
But either way, it s important to know the signs of fluid leaks. With any transmission problems, the
earlier you catch and attend to them, the better. Transmission issues can lead to pricey repairs or even
safety hazards. Therefore, make it your business to know the signs of fluid leaks. They can be an
indication of other potentially bigger problems, and even if they aren t in your case, they re still
trouble on their own. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you can t start your car at all, that may mean that you have no transmission fluid left to begin with.
Your car needs to have normal transmission fluid levels to start, so if it can t, that usually means it s
been losing fluid.
ā¦ There Are Puddles in Your Driveway
This is one of the most obvious signs of transmission fluid leakage. Not every puddle under your car is
transmission fluid, so know what to look for. Transmission fluid is usually red. It may be brownish
sometimes, if it hasn t been changed for a long time.
In addition, transmission fluid is slick, much like oil, and smells similar to petroleum. Transmission
fluid that hasn t been changed in a while may smell burnt. If you identify a puddle in your driveway as
transmission fluid, you can be pretty certain you have a leak.
ā¦ The Puddles Are in the Right Places
If you do have a leak and you think it may be transmission fluid, the next thing you should do is see
where exactly in the car it s coming from. Transmission fluid can drip from the middle and the front of
your car, so if the puddles are forming under those areas, it s probably a fluid leak. Take a good look at
the leak placement and then

The Fourth Dimension Of Hofstede s Paradigm
Uncertainty Avoidance Index The fourth dimension of Hofstede s paradigm understands how society
deals with the unknown. If a country has a low uncertainty avoidance they believe that whatever will
happen will happen. Low avoidance indicates that they do not have much control or want to have
much control on the future. In comparison a high uncertainty avoidance indicates that a country is
structured in a way to try as best as possible to be in control of the future. For instance, a high
avoidance society has made advanced plans to take into account resources needed in a natural disaster.
Spain scored an 86 for high uncertainty avoidance index. This means they have a set structure on
dealing with unplanned events. Belanche Gracia et al (2015) stated, More pragmatic cultures (like
Spain) tend to be more prepared for the future and value the present more than the past (p.281). This
clearly reiterates the implications that Spain has a high uncertainty avoidance and likes to keep society
under control and less stressful. Hofstede mentioned that, In a very recent survey 75% of Spanish
young people wanted to work in civil service (i.e. a job for life,) whereas in the USA only 17% of
young people would like it (The Hofstede Center). This study proves that the Spanish are concerned
with maintaining employment and being able to provide for themselves. Furthermore, this echoes the
results from the first dimension about power distance index. Spain was ranked higher than the

Donald Trump Essay
Donald Trump
You re fired! It was the most popular phrase in reality television. The man behind the words is famous,
powerful, eccentric, yet very matter of fact about business. Donald J. Trump, more commonly known
as The Donald, brought the business world into millions of homes with his hit reality show The
Apprentice. I thought I was the biggest star before The Apprentice, but now I m bigger. In a strange
way, he s down to earth, the kind of guy who buys a $350,000 Maybach by Mercedes but insists on
driving it himself (Naughton). Trump s brash business skills, keen instincts, and flare for taking risks

energetic. His upbeat personality helps him stay optimistic when business ventures fail. Trump is

hard times, he has stayed optimistic about the restructuring that will leave him without a majority
share. He recognizes that one of the only ways to make the casinos profitable is to forfeit his 56%
share in favor of a much smaller 25% share ( Should Donald ). Other charismatic characteristics that
Trump possesses include making an impressive appearance, being candid, and displaying an in your

David Hume s An Enquiry Concerning The Principles Of Morals
Throughout the course of history, there have been many philosophers with different ideologies. These
philosophers have written various works to spread and support their ideologies. One philosopher who
wrote about moral thinking and judgement was Hume, supporting his ideologies in An Enquiry
Concerning the Principles of Morals. In this written work he stated that the ultimate source of moral
judgement was feelings. Additionally, he states that an individual s moral thinking was influenced by
reason. Although reason and sentiments work together towards moral judgement, the ultimate source
of moral judgement is sentiments. According to Hume, an individual acts according to their feelings,
and not with reason. As stated in Section 1 of An Enquiry

In recent years, the issue of efficiently mobilizing capital has become the concern of all companies.
There are some ways of doing this: borrowing from the banks, issuing stocks or issuing bonds.
However, when the interest rate of borrowing from banks is very high due to high inflation, together
with the stock market is quite instable; calling for capital from bond market is much more preferred by
investors.
In the context of this report, some major points regarding the bond market in Vietnam are presented.

source of capital usually coming from banks, lack of reliable information about the market, limitation
in accurate evaluation of the value of bonds and the bond issuing organizations. Therefore, they have
tendency to invest following the majority: sell immediately when prices of securities decrease and buy
right away when prices increase. This will lead to the high fluctuation of the market, so easily results
in the losses suffering of many investors.

Fund management is the professional management of various securities (shares, bonds etc.) to meet
specified investment goals for the benefit of the investors. Fund management companies play an

similarities to the Tongans according to the culture, language, and personality. First of all, the
Samoans culture is a traditional of Samoan that is a communal way of life based on Fa a Samoa, the
single socio political values. Most activities are done together as one family, one heart, and one soul.
Another thing about the Samoan culture is that they have faith, they make their own rhythm in music,

Argument Of Eating Dog Meat
Have you ever eaten dog meat? Every year in the summer, there is a hot potato that heat up the

hypocrisy and speciesism that ban only for eating dog, while eating other kinds of animals. And the
others say it should be legalized to eat the dog meat. The opinion and the reason why people agree or

And now, I will talk why it is problem to eat dog meat, why we should care about this issue as Korean,

people. If so, I think it s time to ban some individual s taste, by reason of change of the universal

Leadership In Julius Caesar
What does leadership mean to someone? For most, it s how someone can make an impact. There are
many important aspects of being a leader. The power of a great leader starts with the right mindset and
willingness to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. One that is always a couple steps ahead and
is there to look out for others. In William Shakespeare s famous play, Julius Caesar, few characters
happen to have to right amount of potential to become a leader of Rome. With the death of the ruler
Julius Caesar, two counter viewing characters gave a speech about Caesar which caused different
reactions. One character in particular, Mark Antony, sticks out due to his great use of language and
how he created an impact on Rome s people. Marcus Brutus on the other hand, also attempted to
influence the people, but his inability to be more persuasive than Antony is what caused him to receive
the more negative feedback. Brutus indeed spoke logically, but Antony would happen to make a better
candidate as a leader because he spoke to the emotions of the people and knew what was right. Mark
Antony qualifies as a superior leader because of his ability to connect with the people and by proving
his loyalty. He is a solemn, confident, and persuasive man which are key reasons why he would make
an outstanding ruler. In Julius Caesar, his confidence often shows. The threefold world divided, he
should stand / One of the three to share it, (IV.i.14 15). Antony questioned whether or not Lepidus
would be fitting to rule a third of the world. Antony would take one half, Octavius the other half and
they would rule because he believed Lepidus was not capable. Antony s confidence shows his
capability of being a leader. Relating back to the speech given at Caesar s funeral, Brutus gave a
logical speech compared to Antony s persuasiveness which made the people have a different feedback
and overall different impact on who they believed was more trustworthy. Along with Antony s
confidence, his nobility towards others would have made him a great leader. His nobility was for
Julius Caesar especially, who he was very close to. When Caesar died, Antony wanted revenge
because of the unjust way he was murdered. Cry Havoc! and let slip the

PV ARRAY
An interconnected system of PV modules that function as a single electricity producing unit. In
smaller systems, an array can consist of a single module. The PV array produces DC electricity. It
flows through wires to the inverter, which converts the DC electricity to AC electricity.
Multiple Solar PV modules can be wired together to form a Solar PV array. Solar PV modules and
arrays produce direct current (DC) electricity. They can be connected in both series and parallel to

These types of systems may be powered by a PV array only, or may use wind, an engine generator or
utility power as an auxiliary power source in what is called a PV hybrid system. The simplest type of
stand alone PV system is a direct coupled system, where the DC output of a PV module or array is
directly connected to a DC load .
Since there is no electrical energy storage in direct coupled systems, the load only operates during
sunlight hours, making these designs suitable for common applications such as ventilation fans, water
pumps, and small circulation pumps for solar thermal water heating systems. Matching the impedance
of the electrical load to the maximum power output of the PV array is a critical part of designing well
performing direct coupled system.
For certain loads such as positive displacement water pumps, a type of electronic DC DC converter,
called a maximum power point tracker, is used between the array and load to help better utilize the
available array maximum power

Conversely, this disorders maybe highly disregarded in other areas. Ataque De Nervios Ataque De
Nervios is an example of cultural bound syndrome among the Hispanics. Illustratively, the disorder is
characterized by crying hysterically, rickety, out of control shouting, physical and verbal violence, and
an extreme high temperature in the chest. Ostensibly, the disorder is said to be as result of attacks by
evil spirits and demonic visitations. In essence, the symptoms are associated with stressful events such
as the death of a loved one, a traumatic experience involving a loved one, divorce, or separation of in
a marriage union. In this regard, this syndrome is only unique among the Hispanics, in other regions it
may be viewed as a normal way of venting out anger. The Diathesis Stress Model In principle, this

that are stresses in life. The model takes consideration of the psychological, biological, and situational

Reasons For the Annexation of Texas Essay
Reasons For the Annexation of Texas
The Annexation of Texas was one of the most debatable events in American history. The question at
hand would deeply impact the United States for generations to come. There was on one side a long list
of reasons for why to not allow annexation, but there was the same kind of list on the other side for
reasons to push forward for annexation. Some of these reasons of both sides were slaves, war,
manifest destiny, politics , and constitutional rights. Also the way Texas began in a way said that they
should be apart of the United States In the end there were more important reasons for annex Texas into
the union, than to leave Texas the was she was.

It was said that six hundred thousand signatures were presented against annexation in a single session.
One of the major voices against annexations was ex president, John Quincy Adams. He was at that
time a member of the House of Representatives. Near the close of the session for that year, Adams
made a three weeks address in opposition to annexation. He is quoted in his diary for saying The
annexation of Texas to the Union is the First maritime, colonizing, slave tainted monarchy, and of
extinguishment of freedom (Wharton).
For fear of the northerns and abolitionists, neither Jackson or Van Buren dared to push hard for
annexation. Though the reasons for ending slavery were not their prime concern. If Texas was
admitted into the union the new slave state would wreck the hard won balance of slave and free states
in the Senate. Thus giving the south an advantage over the north. The abolitionists believed that this
would eventually lead to the south pushing for laws inferior of their ways of life, being new slave
laws, and disunion in the country.(Haley) Once Texas is annexed its territory could become as many as
11 new slave states with 22 new pro slavery senators. This would be a political nightmare for the north
s anti slavery politations. Though they could not fully see the end result at that time, the annexation of
Texas was another stronger push of the ball of dis unification.

Earth as well. These similar traits make Mars a pretty obvious choice to move to in case of an

Without a doubt, tattoos have been around longer than that. When the Egyptians empire expanded, so
did tattooing. Civilizations like Crete, Greece, Persia, and Arabia learned and developed the tattooing
art. It eventually made its way to China. Greeks used tattooing as a way of communication for spies.
Certain markings showed their ranks and identity. The Romans used tattoos to mark criminals and
slaves which is still used today. As years passed, so did the use of tattoos. Heavily tattooed people
were known as freaks and travelled with circuses or freak shows. They were not used as religion or
cultural purposes as much anymore. In the late 1700s, the cultural view of tattooing was so poor for
most of the century that tattooing went underground.
(http://www.powerverbs.com/tattooyou/history.htm) Tattoos first came to Chatham Square in New

declining across the world. Husband s started tattooing their wives to display their best work. After
losing popularity in Chatham Square, it made its way to Coney Island. Tattoo shops began opening up
in places around the world that would accept them or people who supported them. At this point,
tattoos became known as travel markers . You could tell where a person had been by their tattoos.

  • 3. Texas Essay The main objective of this paper is to compare and contrast the leaders, precisely senators, who have lead in the State of Texas, United States. The Senators are believed to have made key achievements during their career in politics. The paper will particularly focus on Senator Kay Hutchison, Texas senator in the period 1993 through 2013, and Senator Ralph Yarborough, Texas Senator 1957 to 1972. Subsequently, the paper undertakes to review the key policies the senators made and the impact of these policies to the people of Texas. In the education sector, Senator Kay and Senator Ralph played an influential role in supporting and enacting policies to promote learning in Texas. Apart from the Bilingual Education Act that Ralph Yarborough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These bills enacted show the milestone that Hutchison made in the improvement of learning in the education sector. In the health sector, Ralph Yarbrough co sponsored the Medicare Bill that brought about ease of access to health services by old people. It made available insurance on the wellbeing of the financially challenged and the senior citizens (Cox Patrick). Kay, on the other hand, enacted a policy that mainly touched on women s health. Senator Hutchison, together with the senator of Maryland wrote a policy that enabled women at home to have collateral for their old age just as those that were in the white collar jobs. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Kay also secured money amounting to more than seventy million dollars that could help finance the treatment of Texan Veterans who suffered from the Gulf War Syndrome. Whereas Senator Ralph Yarborough was an opponent of the Veteran War of the Texans, Kay Hutchison was a protagonist of the rights of the veterans in the state. Senator Ralph is considered to have been one of the best policymakers in the history of Texas. Having been a senator from the South and a vocal opponent of the Vietnam War, Ralph is famously known as the only senator who voted for the Civil Rights Act, (Silbey Joel). On the contrary, Kay championed for the upgrading of education for the Texan Veterans. Senator Hutchison further advocated the healthcare policies for the children of retired veterans. • 4. The Myths of Families Essay Question 1: In The Way We Never Were, Stephanie Coontz suggests that society romanticizes past generations of family life and points out that these memories are merely myths that prevent us from dealing more effectively with the problems facing today s families (Coontz x). Coontz proposes that researchers can take empirical data and create misleading causality for that data, thus feeding cultural myth and/or experience. Coontz believes that an overemphasis on personal responsibility for strengthening family values encourages a way of thinking that leads to moralizing rather than mobilizing for concrete reforms (Coontz 22). She calls on us to direct our attention to social reforms, which can be accomplished by avoiding victim blaming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Coontz calls on her readers to avoid victim blaming strategies and to try to ask questions that raise demands for social reform in order to decrease this conflict. In Fun Home, Alison Bechdel demonstrates how myth and stereotyping contribute to the construction of prejudice. Alison s father, Bruce Bechdel, lived a false life by denying his sexual orientation and created the illusion of a normal family life. By marrying a female and creating offspring, he perpetuated the public illusion that he had the perfect home and family. Despite this myth of perfect domestication, the true private life of the Bechdel family could be described as dysfunctional. Bechdel witnessed only two gestures of action between (Bechdel 68) her parents, which consisted of her father giving her mother a chaste peck before leaving on a weekend trip (Bechdel 68) and one time when her mother put her hand on his back (Bechdel 68) as they watched television. Bechdel writes how on both occasions, she was astonished and discomforted (Bechdel 68) and suggests that both her mother and father preferred fiction to reality (Bechdel 85). Both Bruce Bechdel and his wife, lived in a world where they did not acknowledge reality; it was easier for them to live a lie then to come to terms with Bruce s homosexual identity. The conflict within the family could be attributed to Bruce s suppression of his sexuality, which in turn, could be attributed to growing up in a time period when it was ... • 5. A Study On Postpartum Sex Taboo Essay In an attempt to explain why certain societies have a postpartum sex taboo, anthropologist John Whiting discovered the statistical association that, Societies with apparently low protein diets tend to have long postpartum sex taboos (Ember 54). Based off of this association, Whiting went on to theorize that a long postpartum sex taboo may be an adaptation to tropical environments, particularly where the major food staples are low in protein (Ember 54). He argued that children in these areas were prone to the protein deficiency disease called kawashiorkor (Ember 54), so if mothers abstained from sex for a year, therefore eliminating the possibility of having another child, the first child would be able to nurse longer and possibly have a lower risk for contracting the disease. In order to test his theory, Whiting sampled 172 societies (Ember 62) and divided them into a table based off of the duration the postpartum sex taboo, with a long taboo being anything over a year and short being anything under. Additionally, he also divided the societies into high, medium, and low protein societies, with low surviving on root and tree crops (Ember 61), medium on cereal crops (Ember 61), and high on hunting, fishing, or herding (Ember 61). Personally, when reading about the theory and analyzing the evidence supporting it, I am accepting of the theory s proposition, but do not support it entirely, simply because I feel that there should be a bit more convincing evidence. ... • 6. Standard Scores 2. What is a standard score? A standard score is a scores that enables us to refer to the performance of an individual pupil in relation to the whole population where the mean is 100 and the standard deviation is usually 15. It also allows schools to base their assessments per school year. This is due to standarised scores taking into account the age of the pupil. A pupil in year 9 that has a date of birth of September would generally be expected to get a higher raw score than a pupil born in July, both pupils being in the same academic year. However, when calculating the standard score the age will be taken into account. This ensures that relevant interventions/arrangements can be put in place for pupils based on the standard score. 3. What scores are considered to fall within the average range? Standardised scores that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One standard deviation is usually represented by 15 points from the mean. 2 standard deviations are calculated usually by 30 points from the mean. One standard deviation away from the mean in either direction represents around 68% of the population that took that test. Two standard deviations away from the mean represent 95% of the population. 8. What is reliability? What reliability should we choose when selecting a test? Reliability of a test is measured by how accurate and consistent that test is when measuring a target skill. For a test to be reliable it must have reliability of 0.8 or over. A reliable test should give us a consistent score every time it is completed, i.e. if it a pupil was to complete the same test that was delivered by 2 different assessors on 2 different days, a reliable test should still give us the same outcome on both tests on both days. 9. What is validity? Name and describe the three mains types of validity. Validity is a measurement of how well a test measures the skill that needs to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth of England Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth of England Sixteenth century England experienced a phenomenon sometimes referred to as the Age of Queens. The decisive power of the country was placed in women s hands and their reigns were watched with a reasonable doubt. There is contrast of rule in terms of reigns between Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth of England, both of whom were engaged in a protracted struggle for the English throne. Beside the legitimacy of their claims, there are more significant considerations which predestined them to either increase or lose their power. The rule and attitudes of the two monarchs bore significant influence upon the times in which they lived, including social, political and legal precedents which were being challenged and in some cases reversed. The fact that both Queens encountered situations of striking similarity, serves as a suitable example for a remarkable comparison, helping to analyze the lives of the two Queens and how their lives diverged as a result of such encounters and their actions thereafter. They were both Queens, struggling for the throne, they were women as well as rivals; they both had affairs with married men, however, one managed a narrow escape from the disgraceful situation, while the other failed to do so. Mary grew to hate Anne Boleyn, mother of Elizabeth, because he took the position of her mother Catharine as Queen of England. Before Elizabeth came to the scene, Mary was loved and was the only child of King Henry VIII of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Kojiki Myths The Kojiki myths serve to legitimize the Yamato rulers by articulating the family relationship between the Yamato rulers and ancient deities and the creation of the primitive Japanese Island. Illustrated in the myth, Japanese imperial family is actually the descendant of gods, Izanami and Izanagi, who create the islands of Japan. Since deities use supernatural power to bring Japanese islands into existence and gods have reigned the area for such a long time, it is natural for Japanese to accept that the Yamato rulers, the offsprings of gods with magical power, have undeniable reasons to reign over Japan. The Man yoshu poems, on the other hand, are written to praise the supernatural power of Yamato emperors and to express the collective reverence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The top three take aways from this program that I feel can be utilized in any career path include the knowledge I gained on how to conduct and present action research, the writing skillset I developed which aided me in becoming a better writer, and the training I received on how to be an effective leader. The fact that students would be allowed to work with people from different backgrounds and with different personality types to complete a project would equate with real world experience. Only in the past few decades has factory farming come into existence that has made consuming food a non guilt free action. Not only that, the corn that that cow was fed with is also filled with chemicals to make them grow at a faster rate to get that hamburger on a dinner plate as quickly as possible. A pig produces approximately four times the amount of waste a human does, and what factory farms do with that mess gets comparatively little oversight, (Walsh 169). The process is a very dangerous one in of itself to ensure that the waste is gone and the factories can continue producing bacon and ham steaks for millions of people. A Rolling Stone Journalist, Jeff Tietz, wrote an article about these lagoons that Smithfield Foods controls. He goes into detail about how toxic these lagoons are and the effects they can have on workers. He tells a story about an incident in a lagoon in Michigan for the company. A worker was overcome by the fumes and fell in. His fifteen year old nephew dived in to save him but was overcome, the worker s cousin went in to save the teenager but was overcome, the worker s older brother dived in to save them but was overcome, and then the worker s father dived in. They all died in pig shit, (Tietz). Workers across the country are being put under these conditions in these levels of toxicities every day not knowing if this might happen to them. The story prepares us to the shocking end through three ways which are contained in the three distinct sections of the tale; a factual opening scene, a flashback to give some basic history, and a fast paced ending. The story begins with clear, easy, declarative sentences of a man standing upon a railroad bridge, staring down into the fast waters 24 feet below. The man s wrists are bound with a cord behind his back and his neck is circled by a loosely tied rope that is attached to a timber just above his head. Most of them were retrieved from The Guardian, but they were present in all the newspapers: The latter sentence suggests that the opening ceremony, and by extension the country itself, tends to be described as a contradictory entity. This tendency is confirmed above all in The Guardian and in The Times. As far as the adjectives are concerned, one can see that The Guardian is more objective than The Independent, which only showcased Britain and the opening ceremony under a very positive light. Don t Waste Time With Time Management Don t Waste Time With Time Management By Laura Ashley Timms Nov 24, 2011 We ve all heard of the concept of Time Management, but how many of us would claim that we have really mastered it? How do you succeed at managing your time? There is more to it than simply having and following a schedule, as anybody who has tried this approach knows. Trying to organise what you already do in a day to fit into a smaller space of time will not be possible simply because you type it up and print it out as an itinerary or write it down in a planner. For this reason we talk instead about Time Leverage, a more practical approach to making sure that your time is being used as effectively as possible. Time is a restricted resource. Some companies may have bigger start up funds or a better network of potential clients, but everybody is gifted the same amount of time in a day. Planning how to use the time you are given should not be a matter of working through a to do list as fast as you possibly can. Whilst this may make you super efficient, it may not be moving you towards your goals. For instance, you may be incredibly organised in checking your mail and emails daily, with a small or empty inbox, but if you never find a moment to email or call a potential new client or an important contact, you simply remain static, performing tasks which will not move you closer to your or your organisation s goals. Looking up who the producer is, it turns out that Simien is a black skinned man. Therefore, he fully understands the politics and the human behavior towards the black race from the white race (considering racism towards people with his skin color has been around for so long). Being black skinned is already clear for many people to assume that he probably has dealt with the racism majority of his life, considering the repeating themes throughout the show. Even with the title, the producer is purposefully calling out to the specific audiences in a straightforward way. Some of the trade names for thalidomide are thalomid, immunoprin, talidex and talizer. The main use of thalidomide today is mainly as a treatment for certain cancers and leprosy. Thalidomide was developed by a German firm called Chemie Grunenthal. It was first developed as an anticonvulsant drug, but failed to be effective as an anticonvulsant drug. In 2013, there were 26.5 births for every 1,000 adolescent females ages 15 19, or 273,105 babies born to females in this age group.1 Young, minority women between the ages of 15 and 24 appear to be at greater risk for becoming pregnant. Minority populations are also linked with low socioeconomic status, whether in terms of education or income, or both. Having low income and lower levels of education (the most commonly used measures of SES) were also associated with increased risk for unintended pregnancies, with 62% of pregnancies being unintended among those earning 200% of the FPL.2 In addition, with minority populations growing rapidly, many of these young women and their families live in smaller, more rural areas. According to one study, in rural and small town areas the Hispanic population increased by 1.9 million or 46 percent between 2000 and 2010.3 In rural areas there is often limited access to nearby health care facilities. With income, education and living inadequacies, these young women face complications with availability and ready access to contraception, and are therefore less likely to practice effective utilization of contraceptives. There is evidence that minority and low SES women are less likely to use contraception overall, use different contraceptive methods, and have higher rates of contraceptive failure than white and higher SES women.2 Cultural beliefs and ... • 21. Death And The King Horseman Analysis In an interview with The Guardian (2009) Wole Soyinka explained that the motivation behind writing Death and the King s Horseman was a bust of colonialist, Winston Churchill. To Soyinka, Churchill signified the breaking of the Yoruba culture and traditions. The idea for the play came from an instance during the colonial period in Nigeria, when the British intervened in the traditional suicide of a king s horseman. The title itself already makes reference to a Nigerian ritual in which the horseman of a king must kill himself after the death of the king (McNulty, 2011:2). The biggest event of cultural misunderstanding is evident in Act II when the British Officer, Pilkings, orders that Elesin Oba (the horseman) be arrested. Joseph (the stableboy) tells the Pilkingses how it is tradition for the king to be burried a month after his death but, before he can be burried, his dog, his steed and his horseman must die to be able to accompany him to heaven. For long this tradition is questioned and contested by the Pilkingses because how can something like that make sense to anybody? It is only once Olunde shows up in Act IV that the playwright changes the context. Olunde compares the suicide of the horseman to the mass killing of soldiers. He judges the Western customs of war in the same way the Westerners criticized his traditions and people. And when Simon manages to stop Elesin from killing himself, Olunde turns his back on his father at first, after which all the people from the market insults Elesin. His failure in the task is seen as a weak will. Another custom that is present is when, in Act II, the officer and his wife are getting ready for a ball and Amusa shows up. Amusa refuses to speak to Pilkings because of his costume, a uniform the Yoruban culture believes brings death. He tells Pilkings to put on other clothes as It is a matter of death. How can a man talk against death to a person in uniform of death? p25. The British officer cannot understand the rubbish because it is not part of his customs. If a country has a low uncertainty avoidance they believe that whatever will happen will happen. Low avoidance indicates that they do not have much control or want to have much control on the future. In comparison a high uncertainty avoidance indicates that a country is structured in a way to try as best as possible to be in control of the future. For instance, a high avoidance society has made advanced plans to take into account resources needed in a natural disaster. Spain scored an 86 for high uncertainty avoidance index. This means they have a set structure on dealing with unplanned events. Belanche Gracia et al (2015) stated, More pragmatic cultures (like Spain) tend to be more prepared for the future and value the present more than the past (p.281). This clearly reiterates the implications that Spain has a high uncertainty avoidance and likes to keep society under control and less stressful. Hofstede mentioned that, In a very recent survey 75% of Spanish young people wanted to work in civil service (i.e. a job for life,) whereas in the USA only 17% of young people would like it (The Hofstede Center). So, we should judge that eating dogs is such an worth thing that we need to preserve even enduring disadvantages and confusion in domestic and foreign. In modern society, we put a high value on coexistence of global village that include human and animals. Thus, individual s choice related to this issue can be criticized or even be banned. For example, if every single person s choice should be respected with no limit, there should never have been a law designating certain areas as non smoking area, because it limits the people s freedom to smoke. But, non smoking area is extending because it is good for more people. • 31. Leadership In Julius Caesar What does leadership mean to someone? For most, it s how someone can make an impact. There are many important aspects of being a leader. The power of a great leader starts with the right mindset and willingness to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. One that is always a couple steps ahead and is there to look out for others. In William Shakespeare s famous play, Julius Caesar, few characters happen to have to right amount of potential to become a leader of Rome. With the death of the ruler Julius Caesar, two counter viewing characters gave a speech about Caesar which caused different reactions. One character in particular, Mark Antony, sticks out due to his great use of language and how he created an impact on Rome s people. Marcus Brutus on the other hand, also attempted to influence the people, but his inability to be more persuasive than Antony is what caused him to receive the more negative feedback. Brutus indeed spoke logically, but Antony would happen to make a better candidate as a leader because he spoke to the emotions of the people and knew what was right. Mark Antony qualifies as a superior leader because of his ability to connect with the people and by proving his loyalty. He is a solemn, confident, and persuasive man which are key reasons why he would make an outstanding ruler. In Julius Caesar, his confidence often shows. The threefold world divided, he should stand / One of the three to share it, (IV.i.14 15). Antony questioned whether or not Lepidus would be fitting to rule a third of the world. Antony would take one half, Octavius the other half and they would rule because he believed Lepidus was not capable. Antony s confidence shows his capability of being a leader. Relating back to the speech given at Caesar s funeral, Brutus gave a logical speech compared to Antony s persuasiveness which made the people have a different feedback and overall different impact on who they believed was more trustworthy. Along with Antony s confidence, his nobility towards others would have made him a great leader. His nobility was for Julius Caesar especially, who he was very close to. When Caesar died, Antony wanted revenge because of the unjust way he was murdered. Cry Havoc! and let slip the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In smaller systems, an array can consist of a single module. The PV array produces DC electricity. It flows through wires to the inverter, which converts the DC electricity to AC electricity. Multiple Solar PV modules can be wired together to form a Solar PV array. Solar PV modules and arrays produce direct current (DC) electricity. These types of systems may be powered by a PV array only, or may use wind, an engine generator or utility power as an auxiliary power source in what is called a PV hybrid system. The simplest type of stand alone PV system is a direct coupled system, where the DC output of a PV module or array is directly connected to a DC load . Since there is no electrical energy storage in direct coupled systems, the load only operates during sunlight hours, making these designs suitable for common applications such as ventilation fans, water pumps, and small circulation pumps for solar thermal water heating systems. Matching the impedance of the electrical load to the maximum power output of the PV array is a critical part of designing well performing direct coupled system. For certain loads such as positive displacement water pumps, a type of electronic DC DC converter, called a maximum power point tracker, is used between the array and load to help better utilize the available array maximum power ... One of the major voices against annexations was ex president, John Quincy Adams. He was at that time a member of the House of Representatives. Near the close of the session for that year, Adams made a three weeks address in opposition to annexation. He is quoted in his diary for saying The annexation of Texas to the Union is the First maritime, colonizing, slave tainted monarchy, and of extinguishment of freedom (Wharton). For fear of the northerns and abolitionists, neither Jackson or Van Buren dared to push hard for annexation. Though the reasons for ending slavery were not their prime concern. If Texas was admitted into the union the new slave state would wreck the hard won balance of slave and free states in the Senate. Thus giving the south an advantage over the north. The abolitionists believed that this would eventually lead to the south pushing for laws inferior of their ways of life, being new slave laws, and disunion in the country.(Haley) Once Texas is annexed its territory could become as many as 11 new slave states with 22 new pro slavery senators. This would be a political nightmare for the north s anti slavery politations. Though they could not fully see the end result at that time, the annexation of Texas was another stronger push of the ball of dis unification. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mars is capable of becoming a habitable planet for earthlings. It can support humans, but it must be prepared first. We must colonize Mars to help it sustain our needs. One reason why we should move to the red planet is because Mars has a large similarity to Earth. Mars may have ice underneath its surface as it had water on its surface before. It even has a 24 hour day and seasons just like our planet. It rotates almost exactly the same as Earth as well.
