Bilingual Education Over The United States
The Acts have vastly improved bilingual education over the years. The current programs available to
culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students are numerous and are found throughout the U.S.
The fact that educating CLD students has historically been a hot button issue so much that it is part of
the political arena. Bilingual education has become a controversial issue tied up with immigration
policies, government funding, and political parties. Therefore, there have been great changes made
overtime to how the program is administered, and what types of certifications the educators require.
The State of Texas has issued a Texas Education Code that includes laws and codes passed by the state
legislature. These include adaptations for special learning populations of English language learners.
The state mandated these policies found in the Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 89 was enacted to
ensure that every student in the state of Texas that is classified as culturally and linguistically diverse
(CLD) will be a part of programs that provide native and second language instruction. Policies and
laws such as these were not available to protect culturally and linguistically diverse student
populations in the past. Krashen states, the sink or swim technique was not a successful teaching
practice with immigrants and American Indians; this caused low academic achievement and increased
dropout rates. The more recent policies are based on studies that while students learn the

Samuel Taylor Contribution To Psychology
INTRODUCTION
Organization Defined
Organizations are complex systems which rely on people, structures and technology to achieve their
goals and objectives. They are created to serve the needs of the societies or communities in which they
operate and are influenced by both their internal environment (culture) and their external environment.
As defined by Robins an organization is a continuously co ordinated social unit of two or more people
that functions on a relatively continuous basis to achieve a common goal or set of goals (Robins
2005).
Organizational Behaviour Defined
Behaviour on the other hand, he defines simply as the actions of people (Robins 2005). Organization
behaviour (often referred to as OB) is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although his work emphasized the technical rather than purely human side of management, he did
point out the role of specific incentives in motivating workers and the value of specialization. Perhaps
Taylor s greatest contribution to the study of management and organizational behaviour was his
approach of applying the scientific method to industrial problems. (Colonel Samuel H Hays and
Lieutenant Colonel William N Thomas,Taking Command, Stackpole Books, USA, 1976, p 93). This
scientific approach has been adopted by several theorists and applied to the filed of organizational
behaviour.
CONTRIBUTIONS BY VARIOUS DISCIPLINS
The Contribution of Psychology to the field of OB
The psychological contribution to OB focussed on understanding individuals and predicting their
behaviour, and using that knowledge within organizations to improve the organization s competitive
advantage. Psychological studies focussed on areas such as perceptions, learning, personality
development, needs and motivation. Of these areas motivation is the over arching factor and most
important to the organizational setting because it deals with an individual s willingness to work.
Motivation is defined as the conscious decision to direct effort toward one activity more than others
(Coffey et. al). Of course one cannot speak of motivation unless they mention Abraham Maslow and
his hierarchy of needs theory. Maslow hypothesized that within every

The Universal Intracellular Messenger, Calcium ( Ca2 + )
The universal intracellular messenger, Calcium (Ca2+ ) regulates a wide range of cellular processes
such as gene transcription, muscle contraction and cell proliferation. Ca2+ diffuses into organelles
such as mitochondria and the nucleus as it is elevated in the cytosol (Martin D Bootman, 2006). Ca2+
is suited to this role as an intracellular messenger as it is a divalent cation and therefore it can form
more stable complexes with other compounds compared to monovalent ions like magnesium and
chloride. Moreover, Ca2+ has a larger radius and a stable electron configuration which provides
flexibility that allows the formation of bonds with coordination sites that have irregular geometry
(Bading, 2013). Although Ca2+ is important for cells the cytosolic concentration is maintained at a
nanomolar concentration. Therefore, cells have obtained different ways to cope with this situation by
reducing their cytosolic levels (Clapham, 2007). Ca2+ concentration inside cells is controlled by
counteracting processes that act as on and off mechanisms based on whether they serve to increase or
decrease cytosolic Ca2+ levels (Martin D Bootman, 2006). Ca2+ cannot be chemically altered within
cells. Therefore to control Ca2+, cells must chelate, compartmentalize or extrude it in order to
maintain nanomolar concentrations of the ion (Clapham, 2007). Ca2+ on mechanisms consist of
channels located at the plasma membrane (PM) that controls the amount of Ca2+ entering the
intracellular Ca2+

A Night to Remember
The hit movie Titanic may possibly be one of if not the greatest movie of all time. It s tale of the epic
romance and disaster film leading to the early morning hours of April 15, 1912 in the North Atlantic,
killing 1500 of the 2200 on board. This creative movie has a strong underlining love story between
Leonardo DiCaprio as (Jack Dawson) and Kate Winslet as (Rose DeWitt Bukater). While Titanic is
easily the most subdued and dramatic of Cameron s films, fans of more frantic pictures like Aliens and
The Abyss will not be disappointed. Titanic has all of the thrills and intensity that movie goers have
come to expect from the director. A dazzling mix of style and substance, of the sublime and the
spectacular, Titanic represents one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the ship s interiors, production designer Peter Lamont s team looked for artifacts from the era.
However, the newness of the ship meant every prop had to be made from scratch. Fox acquired 40
acres of waterfront south of Playas de Rosarito in Mexico, and began building a new studio on May
31, 1996. A horizon tank of seventeen million gallons was built for the exterior of the reconstructed
ship, providing 270 degrees of ocean view. (2011) This would then be used later in the computer
generated version of the boat being broken in half and eventually sinking. Within was a fifty foot
lifting platform for the ship to tilt during the sinking sequences. Towering above was a 162 feet (49 m)
tall tower crane on 600 feet (180 m) of rail track, acting as a combined construction, lighting, and
camera platform.
The Titanic s sound effects contributed too much of the film s success and were responsible for two of
the Oscar nominations and wins: Sound and Sound Effects Editing. The Titanic movie also won
awards for Original dramatic score and Original song. A lot of the sound effects used in the process of
getting the boat to sound like it was actually sinking were a bit tricky. They had old photographs they
used to create replicas of just about everything the ship had in it. They then would twist and break the
items to give the life like sounds of the

Examples Of Stereotyping In Society
Stereotyping
Today, we are living in a very complex social environment. And in today s society, people are
stereotyped in many different ways depending which category an individual is located in. Haven t you
been stereotyped at some point in your life? Or you may have stereotyped someone without even
noticing it. Stereotyping is actually more serious than we thought and it is becoming a major problem
in our society today. But what is stereotyping? According to the dictionary, stereotype is defined as a
simplified and standardised conception or image invested with special meaning and help in common
by members of a group. It is considered as a form of prejudice, as people are putting labels about how
a person should act or live according to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But it doesn t make sense how can something good harm someone? Examples of positive stereotypes
are: All Asians are geniuses and are good at mathematics. All whites succeed. All women are caring
and kind. All women always smell good. All men are good at sports. Haven t you met a white who
didn t succeed? Haven t you met rude women? Haven t you met a woman who doesn t smell that
pleasant? Let s be honest. Weren t you somehow disappointed due to the lack of the characteristics
you expected? Actually, you probably were, despite the fact that you were unaware about it and didn t
even realize it. Furthermore, as mentioned in past studies, it can hinder individual s abilities. All
Asians are good at maths. Imagine you are an Asian. Even before taking the test people will probably
think that you will be prosperous because you are an Asian. This stereotype will pressure you, as
expectations towards you have increased. What if an you showed poor results in a maths test? You
have failed to fulfil someone s expectations about you. Positive stereotypes can be as harmful as
negative ones. It might be worse because you did not realize you were

The Statement Of Engineering Methods For Design And...
The ultimate goal of my research is to implement engineering methods for creating material designs
that would improve the quality of the life for humanity. More specifically, I implement the knowledge
and skills that I have developed over the past years to make progress in design and engineering of
smart materials, biomaterials, and metamaterials. By the witness of my former projects, publications,
degrees, and certificates, I possess solid knowledge and skills in designing and conducting
experimental, numerical and analytical research in interdisciplinary branches of material sciences. To
date, I have obtain major background in the fields of composite design, bioengineering, and multi

A sample realization of the codes for simulating 3D particle reinforced composite is depicted in Figure
3. The results of these efforts have been (and will continue to be) published in peer reviewed journals
of science and presented in major engineering conferences. Moreover, methods developed for this
research can be made compatible for advancing research in phase change materials, coatings, tissue
engineering, and many more frontiers of science.
During my master s degree at Villanova University, I conducted an experimental research under the
supervision of Dr. Jens O.M. Karlsson at Biothermal Sciences Laboratory . In this NSF funded
research position, I designed, built, and optimized different types of glass capillary microfluidic
devices, and utilized them for producing micro emulsions. Subsequently, these micro emulsions were
used for investigating ice nucleation and crystallization in supercooled ultrapure water, for which I
used high speed imaging technique in conjunction with a powerful optical microscope and a cryo
stage. Figure 4 is a micrograph taken from one such video. Needless to mention, the knowledge
gained from these experiments can open new doors to understanding mechanisms of damage in cells
and tissue due to preservation at cryo temperatures.
The demand for smarter design of materials for health related and energy related applications keeps

The Benefits Of Robots
The science of technology started in the 19th century and by the 20th century the advancement of
technology has introduced robots. These robots have flexible intents that benefit society by
performing tasks that are harmful to humans. The radical approach of technology to include machines
that are capable of doing what human beings cannot do is astute. Within the last few years, robots
have been used to perform surgeries, combat in the military and help children with disabilities inside
the education system. Controversies have been said about living in a society where technology
controls humans but many of these technological advances are now beneficial and are been used
everyday. Popular: Christopher Wanjek, a health and science journalist, explores the topic on surgeries
using robots in the article Robot Performs First Ever Surgery inside Human Eye (Robot Performs First
Ever Surgery inside Human Eye). This was the first surgery performed in 2017. The surgery consisted
of the robot removing fine growth on the retina. Surgeons, who are trained to complete these
surgeries, tend to have trouble performing the surgeries without making any mistakes. Cutting too
deeply can cause a hemorrhages and scares that can lead to visual impairment. Little things like the
pulse of the doctor can cause negative effects on patients and rather than helping them out, it could
actually harm them. After performing the surgery, the patients who went through the surgery

Analysis Of The Midnight Assassin
Terror is in Town The subject of the book The Midnight Assassin by Skip Hollandsworth is focused on
uncovering the truth behind who is truly at fault for the murders of Mollie Smith and, several other
victims. The murders occurred in Austin, Texas during the 19th century. Based on the first three
chapters, three prominent characters have been introduced. All three characters are currently prime
suspects. At the time, Austin was a prestigious town, equipped with the finest law enforcement made
first hand by god himself, the Texas Rangers. When the young yellow skinned slave Mollie Smith was
murdered, terror truly struck Austin. News reporters from all over Texas came to cover the story, thus
creating conspiracies about each suspect. Evaluation of each suspect and their motives to perpetrate
such a gruesome murder Walter Spencer, a hardworking slave, who had never done any harm; Tom
Chalmers, the brother of the land owner where the murder took place; Lastly, Dr. Ralph Steiner, the
esteemed doctor. Evaluation of the first suspect, is Walter Spencer. Walter Spencer is a hardworking
African American slave. Spencer is the prime suspect within the investigation of Mollie s murder.
Walter Spencer could possibly be the killer because after he visited Dr. Stiner s house he disappeared.
Spencer was closest to Mollie, he was her boyfriend at the time and shared the same sleeping quarters
the night of her murder. Spencer was the first to report that Mollie s body was missing.

Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald s Fight for Innocence Essay
Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald s Fight for Innocence
Debated as one of the most misrepresented cases in American legal history, Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald
still fights for innocence. Contrary to infallible evidence, prosecution intentionally withheld crucial
information aiding MacDonald s alibi. Such ratification included proof of an outside attack that would
have played a major role in Jeffrey s case. Convicted for the murders of his wife and two kids, thirty
four years ago, Dr. MacDonald still endures the agony of being accused of killing his family. Even
after twenty four years of imprisonment and several unlawful court hearings, additional
documentation continues to up hold Dr. MacDonald s testimony. It happened on a rainy night on ...

There was suppressed evidence in the case that showed that Dr. MacDonald did not murder his family.
The prosecutor Brian Murtagh told jurors that nothing at the crime scene supported MacDonald s story
of the four trespassers. When the defense asked to see the lab results, the prosecutor laid saying the
documents had nothing to support MacDonald s claims. There was evidence on the body of Colette
MacDonald. She was holding a brown hair in her hand, and it wasn t Dr. MacDonald s or of their two
little girls. It was reported that it was too small to be given to the government. She also had skin under
her fingernails, which was lost and not reported. Colette also had some black wool in her mouth and
on her shoulder. These fibers were misrepresented in court. It was told to the jury as blue fibers from
his pajamas, later used to convict him. This piece of fiber was relevant because Helena Stoeckly, at the
time, had a closet full of black clothes. There was a blue fiber found in her left hand, and it could not
be traced to any thing in the house. The same kind of blue fiber was found where Dr. MacDonald
reported he was knocked unconscious. The evidence on Kimberly and Kristen was a hair was found
under Kimberly s fingernail. It didn t match up with Dr. MacDonald and this piece of evidence was
also unreported. A brown hair was found under Kristen s fingernail. This hair didn t match the one

Human Nature, Law, and English Boys Humans created moral law to govern themselves, and be able
to exist in civilized society, but people are arrogant and break these rules in order to gain control and
power over others. Lord of the Flies, a novel by William Golding, describes, using Hobbes theory of
human nature needing laws in order to stay civilized, a group of boys attempting to create a society.
Lord of the Flies is a story of a group of boys who crash landed on an island and are trying to create a
functioning society with a government. Hobbes theory of human nature says that human societies need
laws in order to stay civilized and not fall into savagery. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

From the very beginning the boys listen to Ralph s suggestions. The group has heard suggestions from
Piggy, Jack and Ralph but have only listened to the boy with the, size, and attractive appearance,
which shows their low standards for leaders. The boys base their decisions on the aesthetic appeal of
Ralph instead of his capability of leadership. The most powerful thing affecting the decision was the
conch, a major symbol of power and control. The conch is something that summons and silences the
boys, and allows them to speak during meetings. Hobbes theory says that human nature is basically
selfish and therefore they follow the leader who is most likely to give them what they want. Ralph
demonstrates what the boys want in that he calls for a vote, giving all they boys control over their
society. The boys are interested by Ralph which causes them to want to keep him around as something
to marvel at so they make him the leader. Toward the end of the novel, Piggy criticizes the behavior of
the boys in Jack s society which causes them to become very angry. Roger, on the cliff above them,
uses the lever to push a boulder aimed at Piggy. Golding wrote, ... the conch exploded into a thousand
white fragments and ceased to exist. Piggy...traveled through the air sideways from the rock, turning
over as he went. ... Piggy fell forty feet and landed on his back across the square red rock in the

American Culture A Paradox
The book The Yin and Yang of American Culture A Paradox by Eunice Yinter. The book is quite
interesting to read, and learning the views of a person born and raised in Asia was very revealing. It
can be difficult to determine other people s views of Americans from casual observation. Five of the
virtues listed as Yang in the book seem true to me and related to each other. These virtues are:
dreaming the impossible, frontier spirit, daring to be yourself, individual merit, and competitive spirit.
These values are interrelated since they involve the very ambitious nature of Americans, and together,
they help make America one of the most competitive and wealthy countries in the world.

This encourages ambition as Americans feel if their merit is strong enough, they can accomplish
anything. Americans often judge each other on their individual merit, feeling worthy companions will
better help them achieve their ambitions. They feel family and friends do little to reflect one s personal
worth. Some jobs set up a system involving testing to try to ensure that promotions or hiring are based
on individual merit. Americans are more impressed by personal achievements such as degrees or
awards than the achievements of one s friends or family. At college, I work hard to prove my worth by
gaining a degree which will show my academic worth. I think that although individual merit is
important, it is valued more when merit is needed, as nepotism is still a strong influence. However,
since individual merit is very much valued in America, it allows people to feel their ambitions are

Hello Cassondra, Good post. I liked the article you choose it was thought provoking. To answer the

the research made a major difference because the group was coached and they were in the study long
than the usual care group. Nonetheless, the aspiration of gastric substances is a severe problem in
critically ill and ventilated patients receiving tube feedings. The drive of this analysis was to assess the
efficiency of a three pronged intervention to decrease the risk of aspiration in above group of patients.
The protocol used was A two group quasi experimental design was used to compare outcomes of a
usual care group (December 2002 September 2004) with those of an Aspiration Risk Reduction

a way, there are still a couple obstacles I anticipate running into while trying to reach any one of my
goals, specifically, the ones I anticipate encountering for my second year career goals. My second year
career goals include trying to get an internship abroad and being a volunteer somewhere that focuses
on sustainability. The first obstacle I believe I will encounter is making time to make sure I make the
goal remotely possible and not procrastinating, if I do not make the time, there is no way I can achieve

General Douglas Macarthur s Duty, Honor Country
In the 1960 s, America s intense nationalism was shattered by the horrors brought about by two
consecutive World Wars. Thousands of Americans died fighting in what they saw as another man s
war, an eastern war. America experienced the pain of war and sought to avoid experiencing it ever
again. But the world feared a newer, and more dangerous threat after the great wars: communism.
When America s government again wanted to become involved in the other man s war, many young
men and their families protested vehemently. When General Douglas MacArthur received an award
from Westpoint, his acceptance address, entitled Duty, Honor, Country, morphed into a call to arms to
the students, future military leaders, a reminder of the three ideals that ... Show more content on

He knows that, with the memory of the bloodshed and loss of World War Two not far from their
minds, many could be reluctant to march to war yet again. But instead of shy away from this fact, he
makes this concession to the men, saying that, The soldier, above all others, prays for peace...for he
must bear the deepest wounds of war (MacArthur). The General knows that to ignore this sentiment of
the soldiers would be to lose their faith entirely. The government was far from eager to leap into
conflict again, but believed that fighting against communism wherever it surfaced was crucial to
stopping it, and so they played on the nascent fear of Russia in order to justify the wars in Korea and
Vietnam (The Cold War Museum). MacArthur relies also on the patriotism of the American soldiers
and their pride in their country to push them to fight. He tells the cadets that they, stand as the Nation s
war guardian, as its lifeguard from the raging tides of international conflict, as its gladiator in the
arena of battle (MacArthur). With American sentiments strong after World War 2, MacArthur trusts
that their pride in country and sense of duty will be strong enough to push them into combat.

My ethical perspectives have evolved through my MBA curriculum by inspiring changes in my
choices and behaviors. My awareness concerning ethical and social responsibilities has also changed. I
have been educated about the magnitude of ethical demeanor and development of my guiding
principles in addition to cultivating a positive societal image. Moral values and norms result in
behaviors valued by the workplace and society. Based on my perspective, an individual should not
demonstrate unethical actions for the sake of his or her vested interests. Practicing a moral approach
demonstrates a commitment to critical social responsibilities. This also raises the question of altruism.
Some people agree with the altruistic concept while others oppose the philosophy. Should individuals
assume a sympathetic stance for the sole purpose of assisting others? Some take the sympathetic
stance to the extreme of carrying others or taking on the responsibilities of others. In my view,
practicing an ethical code of conduct is obligatory as well as giving consideration to the requests of
external as well as internal stakeholders without assuming the responsibilities of others. Donating to
the social welfare of society is crucial as individuals should not enact unethical behaviors that are
destructive to others or society. To cheat [someone] for the benefit of anyone [others] is not an ethical

Teenage Dating in the 1950s Essay examples
Teenage Dating in the 1950s
Teenagers in the 1950 s are so iconic that, for some, they represent the last generation of innocence
before it is lost in the sixties. When asked to imagine this lost group, images of bobbysoxers,
letterman jackets, malt shops and sock hops come instantly to mind. Images like these are so classic,
they, for a number of people, are as American as apple pie. They are produced and perpetuated by the
media, through films like Grease and Pleasantville and television shows like Happy Days, The Donna
Reed Show, and Leave It to Beaver. Because of these entertainment forums, these images will
continue to be a pop cultural symbol of the 1950 s. After the second World War, teenagers became

She then is given the option of accepting his call by letting him in or rejecting it by making up an
excuse as to why she cannot see him. Refreshments were often served (though not always), and the
entertainment was primarily piano playing in the parlor. But because the lower classes were not so
well endowed so that they own pianos or even parlors, they started their own form of courtship which
soon became known as dating. This practice was soon picked up by the upper classes, and from there
it progressed into the middle class, with which it is still inherently associated today (Bailey 17).
Calling and dating are so intrinsically different it is hard to imagine how the transition from one to
another was even made. Firstly, calling was practiced with the intention of finding a suitable husband
for a young lady; whereas, in dating, this was, and still is, not the primary goal. People date because it
is enjoyable, pleasant, and valuable (Merrill 62), and they thought that they could gain rewarding
experiences from it. In the fifties and surrounding decades, handbooks and other books exploring
relationships described dating as a fun activity in which teens are allowed to meet and mingle with
many members of the opposite sex. Besides, dating allowed young people to be with each other
without their parents interfering. Secondly,

Differences Between Prebiotics And Probiotics
Key diffrents between prebiotics and probiotics :
Prebiotics and probiotics are two types of bacteria which are present on all food products. These
bacteria can help in dagestive system as they have the ability to keep it more healthy. These two types
of bacteria have the same benefits for the health, as they can increase number of healthy bacteria in
person s body, but they have some differants, too. For example, prebiotics are type of carbohydrates

Extreme Perpetrators By William Andrew Myers Analysis
William Andrew Myers, in his essay Ethical Aliens: The Challenge of Extreme Perpetrators to
Humanism originally published in Colette Balmain and Lois Drawmer s volume edition of Something
Wicked This Way Comes: Essays on Evil and Human Wickedness (2009), examines extreme
perpetrators and our need to recognize the human in them. Myers supports his idea of extreme
perpetrators by defining these people through a few expert opinions, categorizing the three central
culprits (murderous dictators, serial killers, and ideological killers), and reasons why we distance
ourselves from them but should take the time to understand their differences from humane people. The
purpose of Myers essay is not necessarily to defend dangerous murders actions ... Show more content

The three emphasis in the theories of evil Myers refers to are the actual damage a person causes, the
motivation, intention, and will behind their actions, and finally the feelings they have about their
actions afterward. He uses these emphases to describe different levels or types of extreme perpetrators
based on their actions, impact, and mental state.
3. Myers only wants to examine the acts of extreme perpetrators rather than take into account their
motivations or emotions because we only consider their actions with a rare exception of blaming those
actions on judgments of [a] depraved character. With ordinary perpetrators, we tend to access their
moral character through their actions, motives, and feelings but it differs with the extreme offenders
cause we do not sympathize with their actions, let alone them.
4. Myers believes serial killers have captured the public s attention and imagination for many reasons.
One of these undoubtedly is the fact that until serial killers are apprehended, they represent a time
before the current generation, unknown, mysterious, and full of terror. The predators are secretive and
sly, able to attack and strike fear into the hearts of a community, and this reason I why Myers believes
that the Other in its most threatening form is such a captivating

Doctrine of Foreign Policy Constructed by U.S. Presidents
There were many presidents of the United States that were able to construct doctrines during their
presidency terms in office that defined their individual foreign policy goals and/or aims. Just to name
a few there was the Monroe Doctrine of 1823, Truman Doctrine 1947 and the Reagan Doctrine of
1984. For example, the Monroe Doctrine was constructed for two main reasons: 1) John Adams,
Secretary of State, suggested the principle that the Western hemisphere was not an option for any
further colonization by the European powers and 2) the U.S. would defend the freedom of other
nations. The Monroe Doctrine proved its power in the 1900 s when President Roosevelt enforced the
doctrine during the Venezuela Border Dispute as well as securing the independence of Cuba from the
abusive Spanish rule.
During his Presidency, The Ronald Reagan Doctrine was a foreign policy in the United States from
1980 to 1991. The doctrine was to help eliminate communist governments such as Latin America,
Africa and Asia which were supported by the Soviet Union (Lagon, 1994). The plan was to implement
support to private and open guerilla and resistance movements that were supported by the Soviet in
communist countries. Containment was the official policy towards communism and in creating the
Reagan Doctrine, the focus started from keeping communism from spreading then it shifted to
eliminating existing communist governments. In addition to the eliminations of the communist
governments, the United

The Importance Of The Federal Budget
Government budgets no matter on the federal or local level are important because they give insight
into what the government s priorities are for that fiscal year. The current budget in Georgia for the
2017 fiscal year is 43.7 billion dollars. This number is broken down in three areas. The state s budget
is 23.7 billion. The federal budget for the year is 13.7 billion and the other funds they 6.3 billion. The
Great Recession caused a dramatic decrease in state revenues from the 2008 to 2010 fiscal years,
falling by $3.6 billion, or 19.2 percent. Revenues improved at a moderate pace since the 2011 fiscal
year and have picked up since 2014, yet inflation adjusted, per capita state revenue in 2017 is still
expected to fall short of pre recession ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Program budgeting is a system of managing government expenditures by attempting to compare the
program proposals of all government agencies authorized to achieve similar objectives (Hyman,
2014). Program budgeting allows decisions to be made regarding which programs will be offered, to
meet the missions, the lowest cost. Incremental budgeting is less drastic, the current fiscal year serves
as the basis for small incremental changes in the next fiscal year. Incremental budgeting is a pragmatic
approach that seeks to minimize the resources that go into the budgetary process each year and make it
easier for governments to enact budgets (Hymn 2014). Cost benefit analysis estimates and totals up
the equivalent money value of the benefits and costs to the community of projects to establish whether
they are worthwhile. These projects may be dams and highways or can be training programs and
health care systems. Externalities that cause market inefficiencies are either positive or negative.
Negative market inefficiencies will cause the people demand government policies and or procedures
to stop these effect such as pollution. Another impact of market inefficiencies could be lower wages,
which could result in more unemployment. Whether the impact in positive or negative the government
plays a role in it. If positive the government will offer an incentive for this product or service to
continue, if negative consequences can be enforced so that negative effects are

The Influence Of Living In A Small Town
Imagine growing up in a small town where everyone knows everyone s business and the nearest Wal
Mart is almost an hour away; then imagine attending a school where the amount of student attending
is the same number of people who occupy a small town. The size difference is substantial and plays an
important role. When I was younger, I had attended both a small town school and a school in the city. I
have had the chance to experience the different lifestyles of these two variations of living. The
development of who I am today was because of my surroundings. In the city, I noticed there was
different opportunities. The opportunities seemed more readily available depending on funding and
sources; which are dependant on the location. Education, development, and opportunities are widely
known to be affected by environmental factors; thus, people who live in the city have a different
experience than those who reside in small towns.
There are many stereotypes associated with people who live in the city and people who live in a small
town. A lot of stereotypes lean towards people who grow up in a small town do not have the chance to
receive a finer education, or everyone who lives in the city are rude and arrogant. On contrary to these
stereotypes, people raised in a small town can receive an adequate education and not everyone who
lives in the city is rude. Personally, when I transferred from a middle school with a 1000 students to a
school who had roughly 300 students I noticed

The precast structural components are manufactured off or on the sites, transported to the site and with
suitable handling and erection procedures, they are assembled so as to form a structural system. The
design should cater to the conditions encountered during the various stages of construction. The
Different types of precast elements manufactured are listed below. Floor and Roof units: Hollow core
slabs, Double T, Single T, and Precast Planks. Precast Beam Girders: can be rectangular, L, inverted T,
I and U shapes. They are usually prestressed with projecting stirrups. Precast Decked Slab Beams:
Reduce number of beams, eliminate cast in place concrete, rapid installation, Shallow superstructure.
Precast concrete columns: may be single or multiple storey height Precast wall panels: Non load
bearing panel (cladding), Load bearing panel: Solid, Hollow core, Ribbed, Sandwich

Analysis Of The Secretary Of Labor V Performance...
It is alarming to know that each year there are over 4,500 scaffold injuries and 65 deaths
(Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], 2016). In addition, there is a high risk for
construction workers to be struck from objects falling off scaffolds. With these facts in mind, the
Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission s (OSHRC) 2013 case of the Secretary of Labor
v Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) raises questions as to why violations of OSHA s scaffold
standards are sometimes considered other than serious. Understanding that OSHA gives the Secretary
of Labor the tasks of rulemaking and enforcement of its rules, it also gives the task of carrying out the
legal process to the commission which both parties accepted, as well as PCI engaging as a business
affecting interstate commerce (Secretary of Labor v. PCI, 2013, pp. 2 3). Knowledge of the case s
background, parties involved, arguments presented, cases used to reach a verdict, and final ruling
provide insight to the penalties assessed, significance, and personal opinion. As detailed in OSHRC s
Docket No. 11 3095, a trial was held in the case of the Secretary of Labor, the plaintiff, v PCI, the
defendant, on February 28, 2013 in Portland, Oregon before the Administrative Law Judge Patrick B.
Augustine. According to court documents, PCI was hired by general contractor, Penta, to do
installation work at the Indian Head casino. Since PCI needed scaffolds, the company hired Scaffold

Dynamic Character Of Walter Lee
Lindsay Roach Response Journals 9.3 Semester 2 Journal 1 Walter Lee Walter Lee is a dynamic
character who changes several times throughout this story. At the beginning of the play, Walter is very
ambitious and wants more out of his life. He says, I got me a dream (pg 33). He is motivated own the
liquor store and to succeed. His first change in character happens when Mama refuses to help pay for
the liquor store and his wife has another bun in the oven. His needs moved and he wound up plainly
discouraged, going out, drinking too much alcohol, and missing shifts. His point of view changed
again when Mama gave him some cash from the check and let him know, I m telling you to be the
head of this family from now on like you supposed to be (pg 107). From that moment on Walter
became more responsible, loving, and took on a leadership position in his family. This change was
apparent when his dreams returned while talking to Travis about driving a, plain black Chrysler (pg
108). Walters change in his perspective of life demonstrates that he is a dynamic, round character.
Beneatha Beneatha is a round, dynamic character that evolves throughout the play. She comprehends
herself and her general public better toward the finish of the play than toward the start. She learns to
deal with the failures of the people around her. She learns that her views on African culture are based
on her personal experiences not on a wholly African one. She also discovers that there are

Frequent Symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Essay
In America, approximately 3.3 million people are diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder,
commonly known as OCD one in every 50 adults and one in every 200 adolecence. Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder is an anxiety disorder that causes people to have unwanted obsessions with
things and recurring compulsions or rituals. Many times, the obsessions or compulsions have to do
with cleanliness or germs. An example of this would be a person who is obsessive with washing their
hands repeatedly. (website 1, paragraph 1) Every person who has this disorder has different
compulsions and rituals, but it is found that a lot of cases are similar in more ways than they differ.

As for excessive hand washing, they person may be highly afraid of germs. Their mind drives them to
wash and clean their hands over and over again, to the point where it interrupts their daily life. The
reasoning behind these behaviors is to reduce the stress that these fears bring (website 1, page 2).
Finally, an important symptom that comes with this disorder is if at least an hour of each day is spent
doing rituals. Whether it is the act of constant checking on things, such as locking and unlocking
doors, or rearranging things in orders such as by size or height if doing these things is becomes such
an issue that hours are spent, there is more than likely a problem. Almost all people have minor
Obsessive Compulsive tendencies; it is normally not serious enough to be formally diagnosed with the
disorder. An example would be color coding your closet, many people do this simply because it is an
easy way of being organized. But, the difference between two would one, be color coding your closet,
two, not only having the clothes color coded but in order by size, type, texture, etc. One of the biggest
downfalls to this disorder, which may go unnoticed to many people, is how greatly this changes the
lives of not only the ones suffering from it, but their families as well. As previously mentioned, not

Multicultural Society
Multicultural Society.
The retrospective view of human history shows that it has always been a moving and mixing of
peoples caused by different reasons. For centuries the intervention of cultures grew reciprocally. As a
result of this process people now have mixed cultures and many intercultural conflicts. The United
States is a great example of a pluralistic society made up of many different cultures and nationalities.
It is a nation that is composed of people who came here from around the world. In the 20th century,
after new immigration laws were enforced, two opposing trends became obvious: the one state that
America is multicultural; the other claims that America is monoculture.

As well as Reed, Schlesinger describes America as a nation made up of different cultures and
ethnicities. We have always been a multiethnic country , writes the author. He also traces back the
creation and evolution of the American culture, and estimates the present contradictory character of it.
Both authors speak in unison about the uniqueness of American culture. Schlesinger quotes the French
author of the 18th century who said: Here individuals of all nations are melted into a new race of men.
If Reed describes blurring of cultural styles in America as a cultural bouillabaisse , Schlesinger names
it The melting pot . Moreover, Schlesinger admits the healthy consequences of new immigrations
laws. He is against racism and discrimination of minorities and salutes the recognition of
achievements of those groups, which were subordinated during the high noon of Anglo dominance.
Nevertheless, the author is threatened by the fact that dividing the country along different cultures,
idolizing of ethnicities, and welcoming group separatism will lead to very bad consequences. Group
separatism crystallizes the differences, magnifies tensions, and intensifies hostilities. According to
Schlesinger, America has always been a country where many different cultures get along together
without any serious visible problems due to their assimilation to American culture, values, laws,
customs, and beliefs. Schlesinger conveys

  • 2. Bilingual Education Over The United States The Acts have vastly improved bilingual education over the years. The current programs available to culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students are numerous and are found throughout the U.S. The fact that educating CLD students has historically been a hot button issue so much that it is part of the political arena. Bilingual education has become a controversial issue tied up with immigration policies, government funding, and political parties. Therefore, there have been great changes made overtime to how the program is administered, and what types of certifications the educators require. The State of Texas has issued a Texas Education Code that includes laws and codes passed by the state legislature. These include adaptations for special learning populations of English language learners. The state mandated these policies found in the Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 89 was enacted to ensure that every student in the state of Texas that is classified as culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) will be a part of programs that provide native and second language instruction. Policies and laws such as these were not available to protect culturally and linguistically diverse student populations in the past. Krashen states, the sink or swim technique was not a successful teaching practice with immigrants and American Indians; this caused low academic achievement and increased dropout rates. The more recent policies are based on studies that while students learn the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Samuel Taylor Contribution To Psychology INTRODUCTION Organization Defined Organizations are complex systems which rely on people, structures and technology to achieve their goals and objectives. They are created to serve the needs of the societies or communities in which they operate and are influenced by both their internal environment (culture) and their external environment. As defined by Robins an organization is a continuously co ordinated social unit of two or more people that functions on a relatively continuous basis to achieve a common goal or set of goals (Robins 2005). Organizational Behaviour Defined Behaviour on the other hand, he defines simply as the actions of people (Robins 2005). Organization behaviour (often referred to as OB) is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although his work emphasized the technical rather than purely human side of management, he did point out the role of specific incentives in motivating workers and the value of specialization. Perhaps Taylor s greatest contribution to the study of management and organizational behaviour was his approach of applying the scientific method to industrial problems. (Colonel Samuel H Hays and Lieutenant Colonel William N Thomas,Taking Command, Stackpole Books, USA, 1976, p 93). This scientific approach has been adopted by several theorists and applied to the filed of organizational behaviour. CONTRIBUTIONS BY VARIOUS DISCIPLINS The Contribution of Psychology to the field of OB The psychological contribution to OB focussed on understanding individuals and predicting their behaviour, and using that knowledge within organizations to improve the organization s competitive advantage. Psychological studies focussed on areas such as perceptions, learning, personality development, needs and motivation. Of these areas motivation is the over arching factor and most important to the organizational setting because it deals with an individual s willingness to work. Motivation is defined as the conscious decision to direct effort toward one activity more than others (Coffey et. al). Of course one cannot speak of motivation unless they mention Abraham Maslow and his hierarchy of needs theory. Maslow hypothesized that within every ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Universal Intracellular Messenger, Calcium ( Ca2 + ) The universal intracellular messenger, Calcium (Ca2+ ) regulates a wide range of cellular processes such as gene transcription, muscle contraction and cell proliferation. Ca2+ diffuses into organelles such as mitochondria and the nucleus as it is elevated in the cytosol (Martin D Bootman, 2006). Ca2+ is suited to this role as an intracellular messenger as it is a divalent cation and therefore it can form more stable complexes with other compounds compared to monovalent ions like magnesium and chloride. Moreover, Ca2+ has a larger radius and a stable electron configuration which provides flexibility that allows the formation of bonds with coordination sites that have irregular geometry (Bading, 2013). Although Ca2+ is important for cells the cytosolic concentration is maintained at a nanomolar concentration. Therefore, cells have obtained different ways to cope with this situation by reducing their cytosolic levels (Clapham, 2007). Ca2+ concentration inside cells is controlled by counteracting processes that act as on and off mechanisms based on whether they serve to increase or decrease cytosolic Ca2+ levels (Martin D Bootman, 2006). Ca2+ cannot be chemically altered within cells. Therefore to control Ca2+, cells must chelate, compartmentalize or extrude it in order to maintain nanomolar concentrations of the ion (Clapham, 2007). Ca2+ on mechanisms consist of channels located at the plasma membrane (PM) that controls the amount of Ca2+ entering the intracellular Ca2+ ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Night to Remember The hit movie Titanic may possibly be one of if not the greatest movie of all time. It s tale of the epic romance and disaster film leading to the early morning hours of April 15, 1912 in the North Atlantic, killing 1500 of the 2200 on board. This creative movie has a strong underlining love story between Leonardo DiCaprio as (Jack Dawson) and Kate Winslet as (Rose DeWitt Bukater). While Titanic is easily the most subdued and dramatic of Cameron s films, fans of more frantic pictures like Aliens and The Abyss will not be disappointed. Titanic has all of the thrills and intensity that movie goers have come to expect from the director. A dazzling mix of style and substance, of the sublime and the spectacular, Titanic represents one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the ship s interiors, production designer Peter Lamont s team looked for artifacts from the era. However, the newness of the ship meant every prop had to be made from scratch. Fox acquired 40 acres of waterfront south of Playas de Rosarito in Mexico, and began building a new studio on May 31, 1996. A horizon tank of seventeen million gallons was built for the exterior of the reconstructed ship, providing 270 degrees of ocean view. (2011) This would then be used later in the computer generated version of the boat being broken in half and eventually sinking. Within was a fifty foot lifting platform for the ship to tilt during the sinking sequences. Towering above was a 162 feet (49 m) tall tower crane on 600 feet (180 m) of rail track, acting as a combined construction, lighting, and camera platform. The Titanic s sound effects contributed too much of the film s success and were responsible for two of the Oscar nominations and wins: Sound and Sound Effects Editing. The Titanic movie also won awards for Original dramatic score and Original song. A lot of the sound effects used in the process of getting the boat to sound like it was actually sinking were a bit tricky. They had old photographs they used to create replicas of just about everything the ship had in it. They then would twist and break the items to give the life like sounds of the ... • 6. Examples Of Stereotyping In Society Stereotyping Today, we are living in a very complex social environment. And in today s society, people are stereotyped in many different ways depending which category an individual is located in. Haven t you been stereotyped at some point in your life? Or you may have stereotyped someone without even noticing it. Stereotyping is actually more serious than we thought and it is becoming a major problem in our society today. But what is stereotyping? According to the dictionary, stereotype is defined as a simplified and standardised conception or image invested with special meaning and help in common by members of a group. It is considered as a form of prejudice, as people are putting labels about how a person should act or live according to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But it doesn t make sense how can something good harm someone? Examples of positive stereotypes are: All Asians are geniuses and are good at mathematics. All whites succeed. All women are caring and kind. All women always smell good. All men are good at sports. Haven t you met a white who didn t succeed? Haven t you met rude women? Haven t you met a woman who doesn t smell that pleasant? Let s be honest. Weren t you somehow disappointed due to the lack of the characteristics you expected? Actually, you probably were, despite the fact that you were unaware about it and didn t even realize it. Furthermore, as mentioned in past studies, it can hinder individual s abilities. All Asians are good at maths. Imagine you are an Asian. Even before taking the test people will probably think that you will be prosperous because you are an Asian. This stereotype will pressure you, as expectations towards you have increased. What if an you showed poor results in a maths test? You have failed to fulfil someone s expectations about you. The ultimate goal of my research is to implement engineering methods for creating material designs that would improve the quality of the life for humanity. More specifically, I implement the knowledge and skills that I have developed over the past years to make progress in design and engineering of smart materials, biomaterials, and metamaterials. By the witness of my former projects, publications, degrees, and certificates, I possess solid knowledge and skills in designing and conducting experimental, numerical and analytical research in interdisciplinary branches of material sciences. To date, I have obtain major background in the fields of composite design, bioengineering, and multi scale simulation, and accomplished multiple project in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A sample realization of the codes for simulating 3D particle reinforced composite is depicted in Figure 3. The results of these efforts have been (and will continue to be) published in peer reviewed journals of science and presented in major engineering conferences. Moreover, methods developed for this research can be made compatible for advancing research in phase change materials, coatings, tissue engineering, and many more frontiers of science. During my master s degree at Villanova University, I conducted an experimental research under the supervision of Dr. Jens O.M. Karlsson at Biothermal Sciences Laboratory . In this NSF funded research position, I designed, built, and optimized different types of glass capillary microfluidic devices, and utilized them for producing micro emulsions. Subsequently, these micro emulsions were used for investigating ice nucleation and crystallization in supercooled ultrapure water, for which I used high speed imaging technique in conjunction with a powerful optical microscope and a cryo stage. Figure 4 is a micrograph taken from one such video. Needless to mention, the knowledge gained from these experiments can open new doors to understanding mechanisms of damage in cells and tissue due to preservation at cryo temperatures. • 8. The Benefits Of Robots The science of technology started in the 19th century and by the 20th century the advancement of technology has introduced robots. These robots have flexible intents that benefit society by performing tasks that are harmful to humans. The radical approach of technology to include machines that are capable of doing what human beings cannot do is astute. Within the last few years, robots have been used to perform surgeries, combat in the military and help children with disabilities inside the education system. Controversies have been said about living in a society where technology controls humans but many of these technological advances are now beneficial and are been used everyday. Popular: Christopher Wanjek, a health and science journalist, explores the topic on surgeries using robots in the article Robot Performs First Ever Surgery inside Human Eye (Robot Performs First Ever Surgery inside Human Eye). This was the first surgery performed in 2017. The surgery consisted of the robot removing fine growth on the retina. Surgeons, who are trained to complete these surgeries, tend to have trouble performing the surgeries without making any mistakes. Cutting too deeply can cause a hemorrhages and scares that can lead to visual impairment. Little things like the pulse of the doctor can cause negative effects on patients and rather than helping them out, it could actually harm them. • 29. Design Of Precast Structural Elements CHAPTER 6 DESIGN OF PRECAST STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS 6.1 Preamble The precast structural components are manufactured off or on the sites, transported to the site and with suitable handling and erection procedures, they are assembled so as to form a structural system. The design should cater to the conditions encountered during the various stages of construction. The Different types of precast elements manufactured are listed below. Floor and Roof units: Hollow core slabs, Double T, Single T, and Precast Planks. Precast Beam Girders: can be rectangular, L, inverted T, I and U shapes. They are usually prestressed with projecting stirrups. Precast Decked Slab Beams: Reduce number of beams, eliminate cast in place concrete, rapid installation, Shallow superstructure. Precast concrete columns: may be single or multiple storey height Precast wall panels: Non load bearing panel (cladding), Load bearing panel: Solid, Hollow core, Ribbed, Sandwich In this study design of a few precast elements such as Hollow core floor units, RC load bearing solid wall, columns with corbels are considered. The designs are automated using semi automation tools available in EXCEL. These are presented in the following sections. 6.2 Design of Hollow Core Units This is a precast and prestressed concrete elements with continuous voids to reduce the self weight. • 30. Analysis Of The Secretary Of Labor V Performance... It is alarming to know that each year there are over 4,500 scaffold injuries and 65 deaths (Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], 2016). In addition, there is a high risk for construction workers to be struck from objects falling off scaffolds. With these facts in mind, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission s (OSHRC) 2013 case of the Secretary of Labor v Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) raises questions as to why violations of OSHA s scaffold standards are sometimes considered other than serious. Understanding that OSHA gives the Secretary of Labor the tasks of rulemaking and enforcement of its rules, it also gives the task of carrying out the legal process to the commission which both parties accepted, as well as PCI engaging as a business affecting interstate commerce (Secretary of Labor v. PCI, 2013, pp. 2 3). Knowledge of the case s background, parties involved, arguments presented, cases used to reach a verdict, and final ruling provide insight to the penalties assessed, significance, and personal opinion. As detailed in OSHRC s Docket No. 11 3095, a trial was held in the case of the Secretary of Labor, the plaintiff, v PCI, the defendant, on February 28, 2013 in Portland, Oregon before the Administrative Law Judge Patrick B. Augustine. According to court documents, PCI was hired by general contractor, Penta, to do installation work at the Indian Head casino. Since PCI needed scaffolds, the company hired Scaffold Erectors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Dynamic Character Of Walter Lee Lindsay Roach Response Journals 9.3 Semester 2 Journal 1 Walter Lee Walter Lee is a dynamic character who changes several times throughout this story. At the beginning of the play, Walter is very ambitious and wants more out of his life. He says, I got me a dream (pg 33). He is motivated own the liquor store and to succeed. His first change in character happens when Mama refuses to help pay for the liquor store and his wife has another bun in the oven. His needs moved and he wound up plainly discouraged, going out, drinking too much alcohol, and missing shifts. His point of view changed again when Mama gave him some cash from the check and let him know, I m telling you to be the head of this family from now on like you supposed to be (pg 107). From that moment on Walter became more responsible, loving, and took on a leadership position in his family. This change was apparent when his dreams returned while talking to Travis about driving a, plain black Chrysler (pg 108). Walters change in his perspective of life demonstrates that he is a dynamic, round character. Beneatha Beneatha is a round, dynamic character that evolves throughout the play. She comprehends herself and her general public better toward the finish of the play than toward the start. She learns to deal with the failures of the people around her. She learns that her views on African culture are based on her personal experiences not on a wholly African one. She also discovers that there are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Watching Myself On Tape Analysis Having the ability to watch myself on tape, analysis it so that you know how you have progressed and where you need to make changes to continue to better yourself is all new to me. Though I was terrified to watch myself on tape before beginning mid terms I was actually relieved at what I saw. Once I was able to get past the self consciousness, I believe I was able to delve into evaluating the progress I had made and places where I could use some extra attention. The objectives that I plan on discussing within my paper are Core Stability, Rotation of the Femur and Squareness. Core Stability is the first object that I am going to be talking about and how it effected my balance in coupe, pique turns and dégagé. Core Stability muscles in the ... During the course of the plié sequence that we would do as a warm up, it caught my eye that my pelvis is not square while moving through each stance and that I need to be more mindful about whether or not my shoulders and pelvis are square. Squareness is having the capacity to control the pelvis and shoulders during the course of traveling through a variety of planes. As I continue to work on this and continue to transition into more of the how I am physicalizing a movement instead of the what movement am I physicalizing? I believe I can strengthen my ability of Squareness through stances. When working through ronde de jambes I noticed that I would usually begin with a strong turn out and my feet planted but then as my foot rotated either en de dans or en de or, my gesture leg would shift out of turn out as it traveled through the movement. I began this class thinking that I knew a lot more than I actually did, and also knowing that I had so much to learn starting at ground zero. Being able to watch myself is something that I have come to appreciate more than I thought I would in such a small amount of time. • 35. Multicultural Society Multicultural Society. The retrospective view of human history shows that it has always been a moving and mixing of peoples caused by different reasons. For centuries the intervention of cultures grew reciprocally. As a result of this process people now have mixed cultures and many intercultural conflicts. The United States is a great example of a pluralistic society made up of many different cultures and nationalities. It is a nation that is composed of people who came here from around the world. In the 20th century, after new immigration laws were enforced, two opposing trends became obvious: the one state that America is multicultural; the other claims that America is monoculture. We have always been a multiethnic country , writes the author. He also traces back the creation and evolution of the American culture, and estimates the present contradictory character of it. Both authors speak in unison about the uniqueness of American culture. Schlesinger quotes the French author of the 18th century who said: Here individuals of all nations are melted into a new race of men. If Reed describes blurring of cultural styles in America as a cultural bouillabaisse , Schlesinger names it The melting pot . Moreover, Schlesinger admits the healthy consequences of new immigrations laws. He is against racism and discrimination of minorities and salutes the recognition of achievements of those groups, which were subordinated during the high noon of Anglo dominance. Nevertheless, the author is threatened by the fact that dividing the country along different cultures, idolizing of ethnicities, and welcoming group separatism will lead to very bad consequences. Group separatism crystallizes the differences, magnifies tensions, and intensifies hostilities. According to Schlesinger, America has always been a country where many different cultures get along together without any serious visible problems due to their assimilation to American culture, values, laws, customs, and beliefs.
