Notes On Blue Aspects Of Green Infrastructure
Joshua Chia Design Literature review
Introduction
The topic of this literature review seeks to explore; how can a biophilic approach to blue infrastructure
in urban spaces increase the well being and resilience of a community? A wide range of material was
investigated, from published academic articles to books. This review will not cover the topic of
climate change, case studies or the essence of well being itself, it does explore how landscape
elements might influence our perception of well being. The sources essentially break down the main
topic into separate sections, exploring how they are linked together and providing a coherent
investigation of the topic.
Article 1: Blue aspects of green infrastructure. Sustainable Development Applications
Analysis: Iwona Wagner sheds light on how green spaces in urban areas might adopt a blue
infrastructure approach to improving water balance in the urban landscape. The article opens with a
brief overview of the importance of maintaining water cycles in highly modified environments. It
stresses the integration of ecological processes into water management practices, resulting in design
solutions. Examples include bio filtration systems and retention ponds that purify and retain
stormwater on site. Their aim is to allow local aquifers to recharge and reduce the risk of floods and
drought. (1) In my opinion, this design approach allows landscape architecture to transcend its
ornamental reputation into a medium that encourages

Mambo Dance History
The mambo genre and dance style have a linked history. Since its origins in Cuba, Mambo has
evolved into many dance forms, each one sporting different footwork and moves. All of these new,
fast pace movements originated from the basic Mambo dance, which was popularized by Dámaso
Pérez Prado. The lively mambo song, Mambo No. 5 was composed and performed in 1952 by the
Cuban Mexican band leader Perez Prado. He was famously known as the King of the Mambo . Prado
recorded numerous mambos and when he ran out of inspiration, he would simply number them.
Mambo No. 5 was the most famous out of a series of 8 mambos. (Songfacts, 1) The piece was
recorded in Mexico City in the late 1940s, which was a major media center, and its musical trends ...

Perez Prado was the lead singer of his orchestra. He was born in Matanzas, Cuba, where he studied
classical piano during his early childhood. Later as he grew up, he played the organ and piano in local
clubs. (Brown,1) For a short period of time, he was a pianist for La Sonora Matancera , Cuba s best
known musical group.(Wilson,1) In 1948, he moved to Mexico to form his own band to record for
RCA Victor, a recording studio.(Siegel,1) Prado specialized in mambos, an upbeat adaptation of the
Cuban culture. At the height of the mambo movement in 1955, Prado hit the American charts at
number one with his self composed Mambo No.5. The sound of this composition is lively and upbeat.
The song is mostly instrumental comprised of a few monophonic vocals towards the end of the song.
It has a polyphonic texture, where the wind instruments play several independent melodies and the
percussion is in the background as the harmony. The most recognizable instruments in the piece are
the trumpet, saxophone, timbales and the drums. The dynamics throughout the composition is forte
and even fortissimo at certain points. There is a few vocal in this composition that are sung in Spanish.

Cross Cultural Issues Between China and Usa
Tourism and hospitality industry is a large industry where cross cultural incidents are always an issue.

Social behaviour and business etiquettes between Chinese and Americans are very different and often
will offend each other. The cultural dimensions of Hofstede and Trompenaars will be applied to
evaluate the cultural difference between Chinese and Americans in later part of the discussion. These
theories allow managers or relevant users to identify and rectify the problems that might have arisen
due to a cultural clash.
3.0 Cultural awareness for tourism and hospitality
The tourism and hospitality industry is expected to have a rise of 4.2% in GDP per year which is
estimated to reach US$9.2 trillion by 2021. On top of that, statistics shows that 10% of the worker on
the planet will be employed in Travel amp; Tourism and related sectors (WTTC 2011 cited in
LesRoches 2011). The world is ever changing and globalization is taking place. Globalization is a
worldwide integration and development of nations whereby all nations share a certain element in
common. For instance, English is the most widely used language in the world where English is
actually not the mother tongue for more than half of the world s population. Nations are working
together to produce a better tomorrow. However, it is also debated that globalization has led to the loss
of individual cultural identities. Giles amp; Middleton (2008:149) state that global tourism is not only

Public management over a course of time has seen an influx in societal workforce dilemmas which
have rapidly transformed organizational structures in government to how HR professional translate

Gary Hamel (2011) spoke on the essence of: the reinvention of management techniques which,
challenged managers to rethink how they perform operational functions; in order to, create a solid
structure within the current market. Additionally, his [Hamel] presentation broke the seal on stagnate
managers and a need to reinvent themselves. Often in many organizational cultures there lays very
rigid, traditional and obsolete practices which struggles to remain existent. Organizations are now
flooded with multigenerational groups; where baby boomers sought to develop their succession plan
exit; now baby boomer are forecasted to have an large representation within the future workforce
alongside generation X and Y s. In the past, managers were more seasoned, traditional in
administration processes and managed a younger workforce. Due to the current market shift [and
potentially the future], managers are comprised of recent college graduates, ingenuities on
developments, and overseers of both seasoned and youthful employees. The idea of managing the
future workforce will require nuggets given by Gary Hamal (2011): (1) Challenge the change which is
currently changing, (2) construct innovations that involves everyone, and (3) manage the diversified
commodity of knowledge effectively. Authors, Martha Crumpacker and Jill Crumpacker (2007) stated:

Comparing the Poetry of Gary Snyder and Ruth Stone Essay
Comparing the Poetry of Gary Snyder and Ruth Stone
Gary Snyder is not only a poet, but a preacher of sorts. His poems carry powerful messages about
getting back to your roots. His poems contain strong themes of anti consumerism and spirituality.
Facts is a short piece consisting of facts on consumerism in America. This piece warns of the dangers
of over consumption and lack of moderation. In some cases, however, Snyder does appear far too
extreme in his views, like in By Frazier Creek Falls where is says We could live on this Earth /
Without clothes or tools. This theme of primitivism is a common theme in Snyder s poetry. Many of
his poems are about nature and the uncivilized world. the settings of his poems are ... Show more

Stone is similar to Snyder in the sense that they both believe that the human race should not lose track
of our place in the Earth. They are both telling us that we should not allow consumerism and
technology sidetrack us from spirituality and family and nature.
Stone uses her own personal experiences for the basis of much of her poetry. Plumbing is a poem
about getting her toilet fixed! Another poem, Simplicity , is a poem that describes getting water in the
winter when the pipes the lead into her house are frozen. On a literal level, both of these poems are
about relatively trivial events in her life, but there are much deeper meanings concealed inside the
poems.
Snyder s poems are also often centered around his own personal life experiences, which he also uses
as a foundation to focus in on a message. The Bath is a narrative poem that describes a scene in which
Snyder is bathing with his wife and children. He describes the acts of washing, and describes the area
surrounding the tub. This poem shows how important the simple things in life can be. It s also a poem
about purification, and about spending time with family members. I believe that Ruth Stone would
appreciate this kind of though. After all, one of her collection of poems is titled Simplicity . Snyder s
poems offer solutions to the problem of having an overly complicated

The Impact of the Affordable Care Act on North Carolina s Uninsured Population The Affordable Care
Act (ACA) 2010 is one of the most radical healthcare moves in legislation of United States after
Medicare and Medicaid. The main goals of ACA were to decrease the number of uninsured and
provide cost effective high quality care to all in US. According to Kaiser Family Foundation, the

% of the Medicaid costs for newly eligible clients for the first three fiscal years 2014 to 2016, and
declining to 90% in 2020 (North Carolina Institute of Medicine, 2014, p. 2). The Affordable Care act

and public health, ACA granted $750 million in FY 2011 increasing to dollar two billion in FY 2015

creation Act 2012, the cut $6.25 billion over 9 years , the fund instead of reach dollar two billion in
2015, it will reach it only in 2022 and the funds will remain at one billion until 2018 (Silberman,

Effect of ACA on Cost, Quality, and Access to Treatment According to the North Carolina Institute of
Medicine(NCIOM), the Health Benefit Exchange (HBE) created by States or federal government
provides standardized information on quality, cost, and network providers, which helps people and
small business to select the health plan of choice (2013). Since North Carolina did not meet the
deadlines for HBE for 2014, the state created partnership arrangement with North Carolina
Department of Insurance for consumer assistance and plan management (Silberman, 2013). The ACA

Public restrooms are a vital area for people to gather oneself and having restrooms that are well

The Importance Of Family Law
To begin with, family law is a dense practice that can result in emotional, psychological, and physical
distress for all parties involved. Depending on the outcome, divorce cases can end in devastating ways
that result in the loss of college and retirement funds and the destruction of family traditions and
values (Wray 1). The traditional litigated process puts a strain on families, especially in cases where
minor children are involved; this strain includes anxiety, negative emotions, and feelings of
helplessness (Wray 1). Though not all family law cases go to court, the adversarial process is taxing
for the parties and professionals. In 1990, Stuart Webb posed the idea that family lawyers can help
their clients without representing them in court (Tesler 9). Instead, this new settlement process was
labeled as Collaborative Practice, in which lawyers, mental health professionals, and financial
professionals worked with clients to reach a resolution that everyone is comfortable with.
Collaborative Practice is a better approach when handling family law cases due to the involvement of
mental health professionals to help clients maintain their mental well being during the difficult time.
Clients are guided to express their emotions and prepare for the after effects, while recognizing the
burden and emotional distress.
Collaborative Practice spread across the United States and across the globe (Wray 1). The approach
was revolutionary because it took off the pressure to litigate

Coming Of Age In Mississippi Analysis
In the chapter Coming of Age in Mississippi;
Anne Moody had always heard about so many people shot dead floating down the river but she never
really knew why. She overheard a little about Emmett Till s death as her and her friends were
following behind a group of boy s on their way home from school. She thought they were unusually
quiet until they started shouting about a fourteen year old boy that got killed by white men because he
whistled at her. Mrs. Burke also asked her about the boy and told her, He was killed because he got
out of his place with a white woman. (1) She then went to her teacher Mrs. Rice for questions and

In the 1970 s Canser (1978) found that only 1.6% of females were employed in law enforcement
personnel positions, even though Jurik Halemba (1984) claim women have higher levels of education.
A study conducted by Norvell, Hills Murrin (1993) researched male verse female responses to factors
involved with work in the law enforcement field. According to Norvell et al., (1993), male police
officers reported higher stress levels and exhibited higher levels of three different classifications of
burnout: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishments. Their study
indicated women should be actively recruited with law enforcement positions; given the lower stress

Athletes Should Not Be Paid Than Athletes
Professional athletes are making too much money in a society where salaries and wages are
traditionally based on the value of ones work ( Professional Athletes ). In today s society, one is not
actually paid more based on the economic importance of their occupation. Instead, those involved in
the entertainment industry get paid larger salaries than those shaping the future. In the 1996 basketball
season, Michael Jordan made 170,000 dollars a day, whereas an average teacher will only collect
40,000 dollars a year (Professional Athletes). The salaries of athletes do not directly reflect their roles

To illustrate the income difference, each basket Kobe Bryant scores earns him a counterpart to the
average classroom teacher s yearly salary (). The Leader of the free world, Barack Obama, makes
critical decisions that affect the entire world every day, only to make $400,000 a year. While President
Obama is hard at work reviving the economy, a rookie in the MLB is earning way over that figure.
Furthermore, firefighters, doctors, and police officers protect and save lives while risking their own
for only a small portion of what sports stars make. For the same reasons individuals in the military
leave their families at home for months to preserve and defend the country knowing full well they may
never return. It s truly a pity that none of these true heroes are given the same recognition by society

Satire In Langston Hughes Green Memory
The poem Green Memory by Langston Hughes ridicules World War II. This poem was written in 1951
with the point of view of an African American during the war era. The poet uses many literary
techniques, but the main one is satire, which suits the purpose of this poem well because it shows how
the war causes many problems in an ironic way. Langston Hughes uses satire to ridicule the war, and
he uses irony and a serious tone to support his satire and to show what was happening with humanity
during the war era.
The poem has a more serious tone which shows how serious this matter is and is shown with the use
of irony. Satire is used to ridicule something and sometimes has humour in it, but can be sarcastic at
times, which is where irony and the serious tone come in. Langston Hughes uses sarcasm and it seems
like he is mocking the war. A wonderful time the War. (1). He starts off the poem by saying that the
war is wonderful, but as the poem goes on, it becomes more sarcastic. It mentions how blood is far
away and money is near, which is the opposite of what you would expect during war and it shows that
he is mocking the war. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Orthodontic Research
The first idea of orthodontics has come when finger pressure manifested tooth movement. With the
development of this branch of dentistry, there is constant research to create appliances which can

This has led clinicians trying to specify many appliances able to move the teeth, most of them include
wires. Wires in many shapes, sizes, and materials (metallic alloys) are typically part of the

Wires, and auxiliaries fabricated from wire (helical closed coiled and open coiled, uprighting, and

Homeless Vehicle Project With David Lurie
Since the wealthy class decided whether or not what was considered fine art, many contemporary
artists began to rebel against these practices and began creating work that not only included lower
class members of society but also addressed many of the issues they were facing in their societies such
as homelessness. During the mid 1980s, many contemporary artists began taking their works out of
the museums and galleries and started presenting them in the city streets, poverty stricken ghettos and
urban communities. By doing this they were able to reach a broader audience outside of high class
society. Artists such as, Krzysztof Wodiczko, was one of the first artist to take his work out of the
museums and into the streets.
Wodiczko began making art work pertaining to many important social issues. His work titled
Homeless Vehicle Project with David Lurie (Kalb Pg.106) tackles the issue of homelessness in New
York. Wodiczko vehicles were begun and developed in the conjunction with the homeless people who
were to use to them. . This concept was based on the design of an, enlarged shopping car that provided
the users with storage space, shelter and mobility. (106) These vehicles were to serve a purpose much

Teens Should Have After School Jobs
Why Teens Should Have After School Jobs. When teens go into high school, they come to the point
where getting a job is an opportunity. Most teens have parents that will push them to get a job as soon
as they turn sixteen. Most non fast food jobs only hire eighteen year olds. This causes a lot of stress
for the teen, juggling a job and school at the same time. Some teens are also in advanced classes, or in
extracurricular activities. Depending on how many hours they need to work these teens could possibly
have to quit their extra activity. Although this can be very stressful for teens, all teens need an after

The Industrial Age And The Information Age
Humanity has been through so many types of ages and each one has had some form of impact on us.
Some of the impact has been on education others have impacted the quality of life. Either way,
education is something that has been around since the start of time. Although, it was different during
different time periods, it has always been a part of human history in one way or another. The Pre
Industrial Age, the Industrial Age, and the Information Age all had different effect on mankind s
intellectual, social, and economic development. Technology has advanced education in many ways in
our current time and has improved our lives overall. The Pre Industrial age, before the mid 1700 s,
was mostly an agricultural time. Knowledge was typically kept for those who had power or money.
The education that was available was given by the religious organizations and provided very limited
subjects to be studied. The majority of the population, during this age was uneducated and illiterate.
There was local markets and local trading. Mass production of products did not exist during this time (
Local Enterprise : The Pre Industrial Era ). The main goal of life, for most of the world, during this
time was just basic survival. The quality of life was very low and the life expectancy was low as well.
High death rates were due to war, poverty, poor hygiene, and plague; this especially affected the
young people. For example, in the 1600 s about twenty five percent of children in Europe died

subjects, for example, minerals, rock types, the human body system and how it functions, the heart,
invertebrates, chemicals and chemistry, and so on. I took in a great deal from science labs, books,
review sheets, and powerpoints (that Ms.Castonguay made). The subjects that were in the course book
helped me understand more about the lesson we were learning. I adapted more vocabulary words,
however some perplexing words in the course reading dazed me. The powerpoints, or slideshow was
considerably more accommodating. We needed to fill in the blanks on the worksheet given to us, and
that would help us study for the test. The worksheets printed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

All the references from books, slideshows, worksheets, and labs, gave me a better understanding of
how life works. I learned a great deal of information, and honestly every unit was interesting to learn.
Science is indeed a very important subject in life, because it identifies how each and everything
interacts with the environment. I had a great time with my group, and had a great time doing and
testing out labs, thinking deeper in science. I hope to learn planets, and the universe next year in
science class as well as more topics about life. Indeed this year was memorable. I can t wait for next

types of the ways in The Crucible the people in there get hurt a lot. Where Proctor tells Elizabeth peer

proctor kept choosing her over abigail. Oh, I marvel how such a strong man may let such a sickly wife
be Abigail ( angered at himself as well). You ll speak nothin of Elizabeth! in which proctor didn t like
her talking about his wife like that because he loves her but Abigail loved Proctor and she didn t want

It has a long established and well developed culinary tradition. It is an important part of Chinese
culture, which has its origins among the diverse regions of China as well as from Chinese people
living in other parts of the world. It is fair to say that Chinese cuisine has influenced many other
cuisines in Asia itself. The preferences for seasoning and cooking techniques of Chinese provinces
depend on differences among historical background and ethnic groups. The geographic and
topographic features, which include mountains, rivers, forests, and deserts, also have a strong
influence on the local available ingredients. The color, smell, and taste are the three traditional aspects

Importance Of Suspension Of Disbelief In Theatre
Suspension of disbelief is an essential feature of theatre. Is it essential in other areas of knowledge?
The title states that suspension of disbelief is an essential feature of theatre, a discipline within the
area of knowledge of the arts and it includes suspending our own awareness of this unreality, in order
to be immersed in and enjoy the story we are reading, watching or listening to. Therefore, it could be
argued that suspension of disbelief is essential in the Arts and other areas of knowledge, because in
order to be immersed and have a deeper understanding you need to suspend your own thoughts of the
unreality of what you are interpreting or visualising. Whilst theatre is one of the disciplines in the Arts,
which like other subjective areas of knowledge such as Religion provide personal and subjective
knowledge through the suspension of disbelief, it could be argued that suspension of disbelief is also
essential in other more objective subjects, such as Maths and Science. Whilst the Arts and Religion,
heavily rely on interpretation of symbolic and figurative meanings, which cannot be evidenced
through a direct correspondence with reality, Science and Maths also rely on abstract concepts that
create a visual representation of reality through symbols and equations, rather than a reality that can be
directly observed. It could be argued that suspension of disbelief is, an essential part of knowing in so
much as knowing is a process of joining between shared

Robert Adam Research Paper
Biography
Frequently considered one of the most well known architects in Scotland, Robert Adam emerged as a
leader of classical resurgence in England for both interior decoration and architecture. Born in
Kirkcaldy, Fife in 1728, his designs combined light, detailed embellishment and colors, which he were
mainly notable for his use of abundant colors. Robert Adam was an eclectic who relied on his design
innovations as much as his business sense (Sharp, D., 1991). His work was on occasion acknowledged
as neo classical and Adamesque which the proper term should have been style of the Adams brothers (
anam thanvi, 2013). His projects used light, graceful line of design, which have much more liberty
than the stern classical proportions of the Palladians (Ross. D., 2013). He was an originator who

Increasing Frequency And Normality Of Piracy
Outcome
Introduction
This research project explores the increasing frequency and normality of piracy as a crime in addition
to its strong relationship with Australia. In particular, the purpose of this research project is to explore
How the rate of piracy in Australia can be reduced in addition to analysing the fundamental factors
behind the increase in the frequency of piracy, furthermore investigating methods to reduce such
criminal acts, including legal consequences.
Definition of Digital Piracy
Digital piracy or copyright infringement is essentially defined as the unauthorised sharing or use of a
product that has been copyrighted, according to the Australian Parliament House (2006). However, the
way in which the public infringe has changed over the decades. Initially, recording music being played
on the radio onto a cassette player was the inaugural generation of piracy within our modern society.
In the 1980s, recording Television (TV) onto Vertical Helical Scan (VHS) recorders became prevalent
(C Span (Created by Cable), 1986). Soon after, the copying or ripping of Digital Versatile Discs
(DVDs) and Compact Discs (CDs) soared (The Golden Age of Piracy, 2014). However, none of these
methods compare in financial losses to the present generation of piracy the digital age (IP (Intellectual
Property) Awareness Foundation, 2015). The vast lawless regions of the internet provide the perfect
haven for digital piracy. Whether content is downloaded through peer to peer (P2P)

Argumentative Essay On Killer Bees
Scientists and Beekeepers Can Make Killer Bees Less Aggressive
People discovered honey since an ancient time and considering it as liquid gold. There are many kinds
of bees that produce honey, and it differs from place to place. One remarkable species is African
honeybee which well known for its ability to produce more honey than other species and survive in
hot climate (Anne, 2006). Evans and Butler(2010) have acknowledged that some species of honey
bees are known as Killer bees or Africanized bees, which are currently living in some parts of South
America and North America, and they started to move northward in the United States. One reason for
naming them Africanized bees is that they were introduced in Brazil and hybridized with European
bees. On the other hand, Killer bees got their name because they are much more defensive than the
other species, they will attack any living creature that is around them and is consider as a threat for
them, sometimes to death (Hodges, 1996).
According to Horn(2006), the Brazilian government tends to focus on beekeeping business since it is a
low cost business, and it does not require a land to work on. The suitable species were African bees
because they produce more honey than their cousin European bees do, and they can live in tropical

These two definitions relate to and are applicable to Escobar who organized and led the Medellin
cartel of Columbia. Escobar aligned himself with an extensive network of individuals each duty bound
to handle a majority of his affairs. This network was divided into subgroups, each delegated to their
special assigned category that included, but not limited to, finances, social, military, personal, family,
public, economic, political, law enforcement, and the media. These groups and sub groups in return
received an unlimited amount of resources to handle affairs and protection from authorities or anyone
attempting to interfere or disrupt their business. By creating several branches to facilitate his
organization, this permitted his growth in influence and dominance. Each group separately handled his
outlets which afforded him the opportunity to succeed in many ways, but ultimately resulted in failure
as he became a distracted, confused, and disoriented leader. His organization was large, but through
his own mistakes or missteps the organization was dismantled further contributing to his expiration.
The organization was largely controlled by money and through violence. On a large scale, the
organization stretched out from his country to other countries that was well controlled allowing for
enormous profits and great power. Escobar sought compliance in every form and by any means

Michelangelo, David And The Sistine Chapel Ceuilt During...
Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni built the Pietà from 1498 to 1499, during the Italian
Renaissance. The scene of the Pietà shows the Virgin Mary holding the dead body of Christ after his
crucifixion, death, and removal from the cross, but before he was placed in the tomb. This is one of
the key events from the life of the Virgin, known as the Seven Sorrows of Mary, which were the
subject of Catholic devotional prayers.
Michelangelo was born in 1475 in present day Tuscany, and died in 1564 in Rome. He is known for
his sculptures, paintings, architecture, and poetry. He laid the foundations for mannerism, and was
considered to be the greatest living artist during his lifetime, and is still considered to be one of the
greatest artists of all time. He is the best documented artist of the 16th century and is acknowledged to
be one of the most paid artists in his day. Michelangelo became an apprentice to a painter before
studying in the sculpture gardens of the powerful Medici family, under the respected sculptor Bertoldo
di Giovanni. He was very religious which was reflected in his art and he primarily worked for the
church. Some of his most famous works are: The Pietà, David, and the the Sistine Chapel Ceiling.

Equilibrium Of Supply And Demand
Equilibrium is important when it comes to not only maintain a successful business but to also maintain
a successful economy in general. This determines the efficiency of the goods at a certain point. There
are different factors that go into equilibrium such as supply and demand where the curves determine
the cost to the consumer as well as the cost to supplier. Different costs of taxes, benefits of
international trade, and externalities all go into how to maintain the supply and demand, and why it is
so desirable
To understand the equilibrium of supply and demand, you must first understand what each one means.
Supply and demand work together to make the seller and consumer happy. The equilibrium needs to
be balanced in order for both parties to be satisfied.
Supply is the quantity of a good or item that is placed in the market for sale. Supply quantity is based
on the price of the item, availability, and several cost factors. A manufacturer needs to have pricing set
in order to keep a leading edge amongst the other competitors. A manufacturer has to keep up with the
supply of their products in order for the demand to stay level. When the supply starts to dwindle or
become unavailable, the consumer is the one to suffer. Depending on the product, they might be
willing to pay a little extra if it s something they really want or need. The suppliers can increase the
pricing to make their profits higher, as long as they don t out price themselves against the competitors.

The Uk Constitution And The United States
Often the UK constitution is asserted to be the most unique in the world, as its sources are a piece of
historical significance as they come from great British heritage. From the case of Jackson and others v
Her Majesty s Attorney General, Lord Steyn stated that We do not in the UK have an uncontrolled
constitution . In general terms a person may judge the UK constitution to be uncontrolled due to it
being unwritten, as it is derived from a wide range of sources. Which vary from common law to
international treaties. However on the other side of the spectre, a written constitution is one like the
USA s, embodied into a single document. Putting aside the fact that the UK constitution is from a
variety of different sources, it must be verified that it has worked successfully to this date from 1689
when the supremacy of parliament over the crown was introduced, following the glorious revolution.
It can also be said that, why would the UK constitution be classed as uncontrolled, if it has worked for
hundreds of years and it is still going strong.
A constitution is generally there for one purpose, it sets out the framework and principal functions of
the organs of government and by setting out these functions the UK has been growing and adapting.
We in other words have an evolutionary constitution. If it ever came to a time where a written
constitution was enacted, it would indeed disrupt the infrastructure of the UK as they are inflexible.
Clear inflexibility is shown by

Stereotypes Of Western Media

Jasmine Bhangoo
The worldwide Islamic revival of the 1970s and the 11 September 2001 attacks on the United States
have prompted many to predict that the two cultures are on a major collision course. Islam is the
fastest growing religion in the
West. Nevertheless, the West has many stereotypes and misconceptions about Islam that are due to the
media, prejudice, and ignorance. Islam is often looked upon as a
extremist , terrorist , or fundamental religion. Many people hate Islam and do not want to
acknowledge its true teachings. In many cases, the media s reports about Islam are incorrect due to

The true images of Muslims, Islam, and Arabs are never taken into account and that is where the
prejudice, hate, and discrimination originate. The positive stories are nowhere to be found about the
Middle East region. The
American public sees violence, war, and poverty associated with the Middle
East region. Others might associate all Arabs as being rich because there is oil in the Middle East.
People lump in all Muslims and all Arabs as all being the same but this is usually not done to other
people, to other cultures, or to other religions. Most Americans don t know that the country with the
largest population of Muslims is not in the Middle East; it is
Indonesia, which is not a Middle Eastern country. Arabs only account for 18% of the Muslim
population across the world.
Adding to the fact that the media creates inaccurate ideas about Islam, the
Western media is also very influential to its audiences in making negative
Islamic stereotypes, such as the assertion that all Muslims are fundamentalists. The term
fundamentalist is actually a term that is interpreted by the media. A fundamentalist, in fact, only
represents a normal Muslim who follows his or her religion. Fundamentalism means an attitude, an

Income Inequality In The Workplace
Throughout the history of the world, women have been discriminated against in all forms, especially
in the workplace; this includes unequal pay and much more. Even though America is advancing and
changing to provide equality to every individual, there are still many countries in which women are
still looked down upon simply because of their gender. Discrimination against women in the
workplace is not only taking place in America but also many parts of the world. Women who are well
educated and equally trained in their field are paid less than men who are sometimes not even
educated enough or well trained for the same job. There are many studies which show the difference
between the pay gap between men and women; these studies are sometimes done to show the systemic
discrimination that women face in the workforce. One of the main issue with income inequality
between men and women are simply because women are seen as the weaker sex when it comes to
working; because of this, woman earns less money at their jobs than men. The purpose of this research
is to provide insight into the income inequality between women and men. This research will use many
scholarly works to prove my hypothesis on the matter. In a way women being paid less than men
depend on their gender and any change in gender directly affect the way they are being paid or their

No One Will Steal My Car Because It s An Old Clunker
Car theft usually happens when you least expect it. You may be walking to your car after a hard day at
the job only to find an empty spot where you thought you left it. As you walk through the parking lot,
hoping against hope that you may have parked it in another spot, the awful feeling finally sinks home:
your car was stolen. Unfortunately, this all too common experience happens to many people because
they weren t prepared. They thought it couldn t happen to them because they acted on common car
misconceptions about theft that left them without a car. Here are three of them: No One Will Steal My
Car Because It s an Old Clunker There are at least two reasons why this is a myth. First, old cars are
easier to steal because they lack the latest anti theft technology of the newest cars. While it s true that
smart thieves do find ways of defeating state of the art anti theft devices, there are fewer of them
around. It s basically a bell shaped curve thing. The more smarts required to steal a car, the fewer the
thieves around with the required smarts. The rest simply go after easy targets like your old clunker.
The second reason is that professional thieves often prefer older cars because ... Show more content on

EXERCISE 4
After spending $600,000 for R D, chemists at Cats Gone Wild have developed a new cat food called
WOW MEOW. The food will be packaged in an 8 ounce can and will be introduced to the cat food
market, which is estimated to be 42 million 8 ounce cans nationally. WOW MEOW will be distributed
in major metropolitan areas that account for 65% of the US cat food volume.
The food will be promoted via newspapers and will offer a coupon for $0.40 off for the first can
purchased and the retailer will receive the regular margin and be reimbursed for redeemed coupons by
Cats Gone Wild. Past experience indicates that for every 5 cans sold during the introductory year, one
coupon will be redeemed. The cost for the newspaper advertising campaign will be $500,000 in
addition to coupon redemption reimbursements. Other fixed overhead costs are expected to be
$180,000 per year.
Management has decided that the suggested retail price for the 8 ounce can to the consumer will be
$1.00. The only unit variable costs for the product are $0.36 for materials and $0.12 for labor. The

Byzantine Empire
Characterized by the existence of their efficient economy, the Byzantine empire is regarded as one of
the most successful imperiums to thrive on the face of the earth. With countless factors contributing to
their prosperity, the fundamental cause for their success was the amount of wealth they possessed
throughout their reign. Compared to western culture, the Byzantines were unsurpassed, possessing a
large amount of visible wealth. The lively markets and active traders were able to develop the
economy as a whole. Metropolises such as Constantinople and Thessalonica were able to attract
foreigners, who introduced new ideas, traditions, and materials into the empire. This exchange was
primarily made through local, regional, and international ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The system was categorized into three forms of trade, local, regional, and intercultural trade. Each of
them having specialized merchants, who were accustomed to the goods and the environment of the
market. Defined by the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library, local trade is a one day transit time, or
within a radius of less than about 50 Kilometers by land or the distance of one day s sailing.
Merchants who specialized in local trade were exchanging low cost goods that customarily were self
produced. Linen, woven cloth, grains, and ceramics were commonly traded items on these routes.
Local trade was able to increase the stature of proletariats by providing wealth and materials to the
local population. Moreover, transactions made below ten days travel is the regional level. Regional
travel also involves professional traders, whereas local trade is still partly or mostly in the hands of the
local producers themselves. Comparable to local trade; Regional trade carried everyday constituintes
and nourishments, but it also handled raw materials such as iron, wood, and charcoal. Beyond this
boundary, intercultural trade, connects two different regions that each have a radius of 100 to 300
kilometers, allowing individuals with different backgrounds to interact, with the interaction came the
exchange of intellectual ideas and traditions. As cultural exchange took place across the

CHINA: WHERE IT S BEEN AND WHERE IT S GOING 2
Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to show how the economy of China has, and is changing, becoming the
second largest economy in the world today. Although China is currently under the leadership of Xi
Jinping, this essay will concentrate primarily on the actions undertaken by then President Mao
Zedong, followed by then President Deng Xiaoping, (sans mention of Hua Guofeng). Given the
relative infancy of Xi s assumption of power, economic policies still remain largely rhetorical in form.
Likewise, the majority of literature concerning economic policies under Xi are largely speculative,
often citing strategies and ambitions as opposed to thereby, lacking a solid basis for rational induction
In addition to China s lack of transparency, In addition, it will be shown that the methodology behind
the Chinese economy demonstrates the implementation of varying levels of the characteristics
associated with the schools of Realism, Marxism and Liberalism. Thus, China s approach to global
trade in the 21st Century is pluralistic, testamentary to the failed economic

Washington Irving Misogynist
Washington Irving has been accused of being a misogynist because of his representation of women in
his stories. I do not believe Irving is a misogynist, only that he may have been in a spoiled
relationship. He mainly depicts the wife of the main characters as being rude or downright mean.
Other women throughout his stories differ greatly from those who are directly involved with the main
character. An argument can be made that he is, indeed, a misogynist. As a result of including at least
one shrewish woman in his stories, he has been accused of misogyny. Irving depicts some women as
being cruel towards their husbands or family throughout many of his stories. For example, in The
Devil and Tom Walker , Tom s wife was said to be abusive, both

Landscape Analysis and Art Appreciation Essay
We recently visited three different Museums the Titanic in Pigeon Forge, TN, the Frist Center for the
Visual Arts in Nashville, TN, and the Museum of Arts in Huntsville, AL. It was an opportunity to
discover and experience the wonders of art through my child s eye. Each place allowed us to step back
in time, create a masterpiece and admire the many different styles of art on display. On our vacation to
Pigeon Forge, TN we visited the Titanic. The titanic is known as the Ship of Dreams a great luxury
ship that sailed at noon on April 10, 1912 from Southampton, England. Even though the Titanic was
touted as unsinkable , four days later, the dreams and aspirations of both designers and passengers

Millet s picture Remembrance of Days at Abbot is on display at the Pigeon Forge, TN s Titanic
museum. Millet combines historical imagery, references to the daily flow of events, and personal
musings to create works that respond to his inner soul. Remembrance of Days at Abbot is a reflection
of a magical medieval grange of his old studio and home founded in 1880. Abbot s Grange is nestled
in the lea of Broadway hill, medieval monastic manor house stands in over eight acres of ground at the
center of Broadway, Worcestershire one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. His painting
instills a warm summer feeling, the background is fairly bright, with the a medieval grange set to the
left and workers gleaning seeds of wheat, or some other plants from the fields. Rich blues in the sky
with powerful formations of clouds are accented with the light that touches Abbot s Grange and the
workers. There are focus points, time and motion, balance, scale and proportion, and unity all within
Millet s painting. His landscapes are rich and full of enlightenment. Millet often uses his paintings to
connect the highest levels of socially society with his art, yet in the Remembrance of Days at Abbot he
focuses on the workers in the field near his studio. Millet will be remembered through his heroics
aboard the RMS Titanic, he was last seen helping women and children into lifeboats. His body

Ender Wiggin Quotes
In the beginning of Ender s game, we are introduced to Ender Wiggin. Ender Wiggin was a shy kid
who was unaware of all of the possibilities he had. He starts to become a stronger more mature boy
and soon enough realizes all the power he posses. He has an older brother named Peter, and an older
sister named Valentine. He at first is this little, weak kid, and in five years goes from that to a mature
leader of an army. We see him progress to the top of what he becomes, but it does not happen easily.
He has to make many hard decisions that could go any which way. Hey third, we re talkin to you,
Third, hey bugger lover, we re talkin to you. (Card. 6). In the beginning Stilson (a bully) comes up to
Ender with a group of guys. They surround him and start to bully him. At first Ender takes it, then
Stilson swings at him, and we see Ender break out of his shell. Ender not only beats him, but we find
out he killed him. This is where we see Ender realize what he is capable of. After the fight, we see
Ender go back to his quiet self. Again a blow to the head. Go away Ender thought.I didn t do anything
to you. (Card. 32). Another group of boys start ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

zero respect. Now right as Ender is getting more friends, everyone is giving him so much respect. He

new respect. He feels like there is a wall between him and his friends, because now he has to relate to
them on a whole new level. At first he could talk with them and be a kid around them, and now it is
like people expect him to act and be more mature . Another quote that proves my point is Ender
Wiggin crying? (Card. 151). He can not do things without people finding out, and they put him on
such a high pedestal that Ender can not do certain things without getting

Assess The Role Of Judges In The Book Of Deborah
The Book of Judges takes place between the time of Joshua s death and the days of Samuel.
Throughout the book there is a constant tone of the failures of Israel and its constant betrayals towards
God. Deborah, also known as a¨ mother in Israel¨, was a compassionate and devoted woman of God.
She was aware of the suffering of her people. Her life is an example of a person s willingness and
ability to show the promises of God. What is a judge in the Catholic Bible? In the seventh book of the
bible, judges are the present time rulers and leaders of Israel. For a time span of 350 years, there was
no king of Israel. During that time frame, temporary leaders were chosen by God to end idolatry.

Optimizing Pilot Planning and Training for Continental Airlines
Summary
Continental Airlines is the fifth largest airline based on passenger volume in United States. It provides
over 1,100 daily flight services to five continents. Effective manpower planning is a key component
for the success of Continental Airlines. It is essential for Airline Company to adjust its need for pilots
constantly in different position in response to new market opportunities, changing passenger demand,
acquisition and retirement of aircraft and training resources and evolving economic conditions.
Therefore, the company collected information from several separate database systems and built the
training plans by using spreadsheet. However, this development ... Show more content on

First, the training program constraint is based on the traditional training plan which highlights the
inherent weakness of any optimization model as it relies upon sound data for accurate outputs (Sarker
2008, p. 5). Second, the potential sources of savings vary depending on different system bids. It is the
fact that a bid will have no cost components associated with those activities when it is no required on
new hires and pilot releases. Third, even using the system, there is a trade off between block hour
shortages and other costs on the training plans. Therefore, when block hour shortages cost increases,
the training cost will decrease, vice versa. It is unable to decrease both block hour shortages cost and
training costs together. Finally, the final decision of the training program is not automated and requires
management to select the best option for each training program.
Result
The Crew Resource Solver system is an important investment of Continental Airlines to upgrade the
management of manpower planning needs by resource optimization and operation and financial
performance improvement. Based on the evidence given in the article, the Crew Resource Solver
integrated decision support system is a successful program for Continental Airlines to achieve its
above objectives. First, there are three ways for the cost savings. Training classes schedules become
more efficiently and the number of pilots sending to training decrease. Second, there is

within Indonesia Introduction After over a quarter century of sustained economic growth, Indonesia

Not only has the economy grown rapidly over the last quarter century but there has also been dramatic
demographic and social change. Fertility rates have declined substantially and there have been
massive investments in human capital. This can be seen in secondary school enrollment rates which
have risen from a mere 6% in 1960 to more than 50% today; primary school enrollment is essentially
universal. (Poppele 1999) The investments are also reflected in the health of the population: at birth,
the average Indonesian today expects to live to the age of 61 which is 50% longer than he or she
expected 30 years ago. Thus, the labor force has not only grown dramatically in size but also in
quality. The consequences of these improvements are reflected in significant rising real wage levels
over the last three decades. (Smith 2002) Pride in its past economic achievements and optimism about
its future were suddenly challenged by the economic crisis which was accompanied by dramatic shifts
in the economic and political landscape of the country. As indicated in Figure 1, the rupiah came under
pressure in the last half of 1997 when the exchange rate began showing signs of weakness. After
falling by half from around 2,400 per US$ to about 4,800 per US$ by December 1997, the rupiah
collapsed in January 1998 when, over the course of just a few days, the exchange rate fell by 400% to
Rp16,000 per US$. Although

Moll Flanders Analysis
In Daniel Defoe s Moll Flanders we follow a woman named Moll throughout her life. She encounters
several serious situations, gets married five times, and has many children that she leaves in the care of
their fathers or paternal grandparents. As a society, the first emotion that comes to our minds when we
recognize these behaviors in a woman is disgust, after all, how could a woman leave her children?
However, if a man did the very same some readers wouldn t give it a second thought. Defoe s story
brings to light societal concerns regarding women in his time period and how society should address
them.
The key issue is the number of children Moll has and leaves behind. In total, she has 12 children by
the end of her story; three are dead, seven that are left with their fathers or grandparents, and two of
which are left unaccounted for. Only one does she ever reunite with and not until late in life. To
society, the question remains, why she didn t try her best to bring up and support her children from her
first husband. Scholars question whether it was due to her own abandonment as an infant and lack of a
motherly figure to teach her how to love her own children, they were nothing more than a
happenstance of sex, or if it was because she was never able to feel secure of her own basic needs and
thus couldn t think to take care of another s. Firstly, Moll was born in a prison because her mother was
a convicted felon. After six months, her mother was transferred to a

The most heralded of all was the building of King Herod. King Herod s plans or desires were more
self serving than Godly. His plans were more geared towards those groups he could glean something
from, his supporters, people he respected or people who might respect him, and the flat out admiration
he pined for. King Herod stayed true to the original dimension of the biblical temple. However, from
there all shackles of conformity were unlocked. Herod would expand and raise the temple platform,
thus creating an unparalleled and truly monumental temple precinct containing the sanctuary, courts,
gates, a fortress (Antonia), approaches, porticoes, and subsidiary buildings. In keeping up King Herod
s ego, the only thing that Herod really out did King Solomon in the way of building craft. Was the
Herod out blinged King Solomon in the gold over laying inside of the temple?
Not even the calamities of destructions to the religious temples could thwart the desire for a
permanent place to worship for the followers of Judaism and even that of Christianity. Past tradition
and customs is a cornerstone of belief and a way of life for these followers of God. The quest for
rebuilding the past will always be of paramount concern for the believers in Yahweh. As long as the
Torah exists, there will always be a blueprint for God s

  • 2. Notes On Blue Aspects Of Green Infrastructure Joshua Chia Design Literature review Introduction The topic of this literature review seeks to explore; how can a biophilic approach to blue infrastructure in urban spaces increase the well being and resilience of a community? A wide range of material was investigated, from published academic articles to books. This review will not cover the topic of climate change, case studies or the essence of well being itself, it does explore how landscape elements might influence our perception of well being. The sources essentially break down the main topic into separate sections, exploring how they are linked together and providing a coherent investigation of the topic. Article 1: Blue aspects of green infrastructure. Sustainable Development Applications Analysis: Iwona Wagner sheds light on how green spaces in urban areas might adopt a blue infrastructure approach to improving water balance in the urban landscape. The article opens with a brief overview of the importance of maintaining water cycles in highly modified environments. It stresses the integration of ecological processes into water management practices, resulting in design solutions. Examples include bio filtration systems and retention ponds that purify and retain stormwater on site. Their aim is to allow local aquifers to recharge and reduce the risk of floods and drought. (1) In my opinion, this design approach allows landscape architecture to transcend its ornamental reputation into a medium that encourages ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Mambo Dance History The mambo genre and dance style have a linked history. Since its origins in Cuba, Mambo has evolved into many dance forms, each one sporting different footwork and moves. All of these new, fast pace movements originated from the basic Mambo dance, which was popularized by Dámaso Pérez Prado. The lively mambo song, Mambo No. 5 was composed and performed in 1952 by the Cuban Mexican band leader Perez Prado. He was famously known as the King of the Mambo . Prado recorded numerous mambos and when he ran out of inspiration, he would simply number them. Mambo No. 5 was the most famous out of a series of 8 mambos. Perez Prado was the lead singer of his orchestra. He was born in Matanzas, Cuba, where he studied classical piano during his early childhood. Later as he grew up, he played the organ and piano in local clubs. (Brown,1) For a short period of time, he was a pianist for La Sonora Matancera , Cuba s best known musical group.(Wilson,1) In 1948, he moved to Mexico to form his own band to record for RCA Victor, a recording studio.(Siegel,1) Prado specialized in mambos, an upbeat adaptation of the Cuban culture. At the height of the mambo movement in 1955, Prado hit the American charts at number one with his self composed Mambo No.5. The sound of this composition is lively and upbeat. The song is mostly instrumental comprised of a few monophonic vocals towards the end of the song. It has a polyphonic texture, where the wind instruments play several independent melodies and the percussion is in the background as the harmony. The most recognizable instruments in the piece are the trumpet, saxophone, timbales and the drums. The dynamics throughout the composition is forte and even fortissimo at certain points. Gary Hamel (2011) spoke on the essence of: the reinvention of management techniques which, challenged managers to rethink how they perform operational functions; in order to, create a solid structure within the current market. Additionally, his [Hamel] presentation broke the seal on stagnate managers and a need to reinvent themselves. • 6. Comparing the Poetry of Gary Snyder and Ruth Stone Essay Comparing the Poetry of Gary Snyder and Ruth Stone Gary Snyder is not only a poet, but a preacher of sorts. His poems carry powerful messages about getting back to your roots. His poems contain strong themes of anti consumerism and spirituality. Facts is a short piece consisting of facts on consumerism in America. This piece warns of the dangers of over consumption and lack of moderation. In some cases, however, Snyder does appear far too extreme in his views, like in By Frazier Creek Falls where is says We could live on this Earth / Without clothes or tools. This theme of primitivism is a common theme in Snyder s poetry. Many of his poems are about nature and the uncivilized world. the settings of his poems are ... They are both telling us that we should not allow consumerism and technology sidetrack us from spirituality and family and nature. Stone uses her own personal experiences for the basis of much of her poetry. Plumbing is a poem about getting her toilet fixed! Another poem, Simplicity , is a poem that describes getting water in the winter when the pipes the lead into her house are frozen. On a literal level, both of these poems are about relatively trivial events in her life, but there are much deeper meanings concealed inside the poems. Snyder s poems are also often centered around his own personal life experiences, which he also uses as a foundation to focus in on a message. The Bath is a narrative poem that describes a scene in which Snyder is bathing with his wife and children. He describes the acts of washing, and describes the area surrounding the tub. This poem shows how important the simple things in life can be. It s also a poem about purification, and about spending time with family members. I believe that Ruth Stone would appreciate this kind of though. After all, one of her collection of poems is titled Simplicity . • 9. The Importance Of Family Law To begin with, family law is a dense practice that can result in emotional, psychological, and physical distress for all parties involved. Depending on the outcome, divorce cases can end in devastating ways that result in the loss of college and retirement funds and the destruction of family traditions and values (Wray 1). The traditional litigated process puts a strain on families, especially in cases where minor children are involved; this strain includes anxiety, negative emotions, and feelings of helplessness (Wray 1). Though not all family law cases go to court, the adversarial process is taxing for the parties and professionals. In 1990, Stuart Webb posed the idea that family lawyers can help their clients without representing them in court (Tesler 9). Instead, this new settlement process was labeled as Collaborative Practice, in which lawyers, mental health professionals, and financial professionals worked with clients to reach a resolution that everyone is comfortable with. Collaborative Practice is a better approach when handling family law cases due to the involvement of mental health professionals to help clients maintain their mental well being during the difficult time. Clients are guided to express their emotions and prepare for the after effects, while recognizing the burden and emotional distress. Collaborative Practice spread across the United States and across the globe (Wray 1). The approach was revolutionary because it took off the pressure to litigate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Her mother knew better, she knew that Anne would be in big trouble if she said anything to Mrs. Burke about what happened. • 13. Satire In Langston Hughes Green Memory The poem Green Memory by Langston Hughes ridicules World War II. This poem was written in 1951 with the point of view of an African American during the war era. The poet uses many literary techniques, but the main one is satire, which suits the purpose of this poem well because it shows how the war causes many problems in an ironic way. Langston Hughes uses satire to ridicule the war, and he uses irony and a serious tone to support his satire and to show what was happening with humanity during the war era. The poem has a more serious tone which shows how serious this matter is and is shown with the use of irony. Satire is used to ridicule something and sometimes has humour in it, but can be sarcastic at times, which is where irony and the serious tone come in. • 31. Equilibrium Of Supply And Demand Equilibrium is important when it comes to not only maintain a successful business but to also maintain a successful economy in general. This determines the efficiency of the goods at a certain point. There are different factors that go into equilibrium such as supply and demand where the curves determine the cost to the consumer as well as the cost to supplier. Different costs of taxes, benefits of international trade, and externalities all go into how to maintain the supply and demand, and why it is so desirable To understand the equilibrium of supply and demand, you must first understand what each one means. Supply and demand work together to make the seller and consumer happy. The equilibrium needs to be balanced in order for both parties to be satisfied. Supply is the quantity of a good or item that is placed in the market for sale. Supply quantity is based on the price of the item, availability, and several cost factors. A manufacturer needs to have pricing set in order to keep a leading edge amongst the other competitors. A manufacturer has to keep up with the supply of their products in order for the demand to stay level. When the supply starts to dwindle or become unavailable, the consumer is the one to suffer. Depending on the product, they might be willing to pay a little extra if it s something they really want or need. The suppliers can increase the pricing to make their profits higher, as long as they don t out price themselves against the competitors. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Uk Constitution And The United States Often the UK constitution is asserted to be the most unique in the world, as its sources are a piece of historical significance as they come from great British heritage. From the case of Jackson and others v Her Majesty s Attorney General, Lord Steyn stated that We do not in the UK have an uncontrolled constitution . In general terms a person may judge the UK constitution to be uncontrolled due to it being unwritten, as it is derived from a wide range of sources. Which vary from common law to international treaties. However on the other side of the spectre, a written constitution is one like the USA s, embodied into a single document. Putting aside the fact that the UK constitution is from a variety of different sources, it must be verified that it has worked successfully to this date from 1689 when the supremacy of parliament over the crown was introduced, following the glorious revolution. It can also be said that, why would the UK constitution be classed as uncontrolled, if it has worked for hundreds of years and it is still going strong. A constitution is generally there for one purpose, it sets out the framework and principal functions of the organs of government and by setting out these functions the UK has been growing and adapting. We in other words have an evolutionary constitution. If it ever came to a time where a written constitution was enacted, it would indeed disrupt the infrastructure of the UK as they are inflexible. Even though America is advancing and changing to provide equality to every individual, there are still many countries in which women are still looked down upon simply because of their gender. Discrimination against women in the workplace is not only taking place in America but also many parts of the world. Women who are well educated and equally trained in their field are paid less than men who are sometimes not even educated enough or well trained for the same job. There are many studies which show the difference between the pay gap between men and women; these studies are sometimes done to show the systemic discrimination that women face in the workforce. First, old cars are easier to steal because they lack the latest anti theft technology of the newest cars. While it s true that smart thieves do find ways of defeating state of the art anti theft devices, there are fewer of them around. It s basically a bell shaped curve thing.
