Rogers Chocolates
Introduction
Rogers Chocolates is Canada s oldest chocolate company and British Columbia s second oldest
company. Steve Parkhill, the new president of company is expected to double or possibly triple the
size of company within the next 10 years. In the chocolate candy industry, Canada s market size was
$167 million and growing 2% annually. Although the growth rate in the chocolate industry is falling as
a whole, large companies such as Hershey Cadburys are moving into the premium chocolate market
and growing 20% annually.
Rogers Chocolates retains 25% of their sales 8 weeks prior to Christmas and about 40% of their sales
come from their heavy users. Their customers are generally established families, childless, middle
aged, couples, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since online and retail items require late production much of the wholesale business is pushed first
through production. This allows for their wholesale to fulfill their orders, but not always the retail
stores. To make matters worst, sometimes during the holidays their supplier would not be able to
produce their containers needed for their production, which would also throw back production.
Production planning becomes even more complicated because of the influence of the out of stocks,
which would cause the sales graphs to be heavily distorted. The graphs would be distorted if items
were out of stock for a month and the backorders were filled in a short period of time. Whenever there
were overstock issues, retail stores would push the items through discounts. Often when there were
out of stock issues for the wholesalers the company would take the supplies from their retail stores and
divert it to the wholesaler s order. Lastly, when special orders were placed for wholesale, it was not
uncommon for the production plans to be put on hold to focus on special orders. As a result from all
the production errors, the sales graph would have unnatural spikes, yet these spikes would be included
for planning production for the following year.
Demand forecasting is a large problem for Rogers Chocolates because if items were out of stock for a
month and back orders were filled in a short time, the sales graph

Argumentative Essay On Birth Control
Birth control. Most of the women in America have tried some type of birth control during their
lifetime. Currently, we are having debates to see if birth control should be free or at a lower cost to
citizens. Why do we need birth control if we already have condoms? Do we really have affordable
birth control? Can we get it easily? Does it do more than just prevent pregnancies? If birth control
really helping women and the economy? In this research paper, I will be going over these questions.
Birth control is a benefit to modern society and we have benefited from it greatly.
To get the ball rolling, we all know that taking birth control comes with a price, just like any other
daily necessity. Some women have a challenging time acquiring these preventable contraceptives due
do cost and accessibility. A variety of contraceptives are currently available to women in the US.
Including hormone pills, IUD s, patches, emergency contraception, and implants. The most common
types being the pill and IUD s. Some women prefer taking a pill every day, while others prefer having
an IUD put in that can last up to twelve years. How much does all this cost? According to Kimberley
Palmer, a writer for the US News, pill users can cost between $15 to $50 a month, depending on what
time of health care coverage you have. On a
Trombley 2 yearly basis this can cost up to $160 to $600. (Palmer) On the other hand, an IUD is a
onetime insertion that comes with a onetime fee. An IUD is more effective

Car Industry Analysis Paper
In this paper I will be looking at the possibility of purchasing a car I will be researching and analyzing
the current economy for strength and weaknesses which reflects the economy as a whole. I will
attempt to describe the economics terms gross domestic product and real GDP, nominal GDP,
unemployment rate, inflation. I will analyze historical trends, the relationship between inflation,
unemployment and the business cycle of the industry. Gross domestic product is the total market value
of products and services within the borders of a given county in a specific time frame. (GDP measures
the monetary value of final goods and services that is, those that are bought by the final user produced
in a country in a given period of time (say a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In car sales I have to look at 3 components the producer price index and gas and fuel prices. Looking
at auto sales is a good way to look at demand for automobiles. The higher the consumer demands the
more or less should be produced. Fuel prices as well as oil have a dramatic impact on auto sales, if
prices are up the less likely the consumer will opt for a large vehicle. When buying a vehicle is good to
look at buying a CPI (Consumer price index) measures the average change over time in the selling
prices received by domestic producers for the output (Bureau of Labor Statistics 2015) Another thing
to analyze are interest rates as they are important to our economy. Interest rates lead to more
businesses borrowing money; if interest rates are low that means consumer will buy the product.
Interest rates are charged by the country s central or federal bank loans and advances to control money
supply in the economy in the banking sector which is typically done in a quarter bases to control
inflation and stabilizes the country s exchange rate . ( Kirch,Vick 2006). Interest rates and
unemployment rates usually go hand in hand in the auto industry it seems. When the auto industry is
going steady and heading towards a peak performance, unemployment is low and interest rates are a
little higher due to supply and demand. During recession in the automobile industry

Hitchcock Rope Analysis
Hanging by Hitchcock s Rope Famously known as The Master of Suspense , Alfred Hitchcock knew
how to keep an audience on the edge of their chair, just waiting to see what happens next. Hitchcock s
career started in the silent era of films, gained increased success through talking pictures, and soared
into infamy when color film became common. Hitchcock s famous cinematography, editing, directing
of his thoughtfully selected actors, and extraordinary attention to detail, are obvious reasons why there
is no denying that he is one of the greatest directors the film industry has ever seen. OSU Media
student, Joseph Ford, confirms why Hitchcock is his favorite directors, Hitchcock s lighting and shot
sequences are unmatched, he was the ultimate perfectionist and, in my opinion, there is hardly a flaw
in any of his films (Ford). There are endless lists and debates about which Alfred Hitchcock film is the
greatest, and each one of his movies deserves serious consideration. It could be contested that with the
unique story, intriguing characters portrayed by great actors, and the extraordinary cinematography,
that Alfred Hitchcock s Rope is potentially his greatest film. Alfred Hitchcock was never known for
original stories, always taking his inspiration from novels or plays. Rope was based on a British play
by Patrick Hamilton, which in turn was loosely based on the Leopold and Loeb murder case from
1924. Rope portraits two highly educated men, Brandon and Phillip, who decide

Abby Carrer Research Paper
Abby Sunderland and her trip around the world Do you think Abby Sunderland should have gone on a
six month trip around the world by herself? I think that she should not go because, she s only sixteen
and have the rest of her life to live. So if she would of gotten into trouble she won t be able to live her
life to the fullest. I know that Abby should not have gone on the trip because, a wave hit her boat and
made her turn on the emergency beacon showing she could not do it. I know this because, it states in
the Newspaper Article waves that destroyed its mass, and Sunderland activated an emergency beacon.
In the video her family said she was ready, but they were wrong since she could not fix or do anything

My Experience In The Game
On the second meeting on November 29, I arrived at 6 pm. The owner opened shop very similar to the
first time I went there. [It seemed as if she had a routine going]. The same host, Josh, was there again,
and introduced us to the game and took some time to explain it again especially to the new comers.
Regina, George, and Michael were the returnees [they seemed to be regulars each week at the game
nights]. Emma and Noah were the new people. This is the first time I actually will be playing the
game, and I still wasn t comfortable what was going on. I hadn t even read Rich Dad, Poor Dad yet.
In my first game, I chose the profession of an airplane pilot. The game has an example of financial
data for doctors, teachers, mechanics, etc, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The game continued on. The next time it came back to me, it would be my last time to roll two dices.
Unfortunately, I rolled a two, and had to downsize. It meant I lost my job and I had to skip my turn the
next round.
Two rounds later, it came back to me and I rolled only a single dice and got a two. I landed on a
Paycheck.
This is how the game progressed. When I landed on the blue Market space, I decided to buy real
estate. I had landed on each of the main spots at least once, except for the Baby space. All of the time,
if I landed on the Opportunity space, I decided to go with Small deals. When I landed on Doodads,
they were unexpected expenses that popped up, which I had to pay for. They could be expenses for
large electronics, appliance purchases, bills, or other surprise costs. When I landed on the Market
space of the Opportunities space, I had to decide whether I would want to invest or pass it up.
In between turns, we were eating food, drinking beverages, and talking stories to each other about how
we each got involved. [Clearly my attention was not in the game]. Though I got a chance to talk to
others, I wanted to interview the host, Josh. I told him about my assignment, showed him the
permission letter and he agreed to do the interview.

Example Of Art Of Persuasion
Mikiyas Hailemichael Art Appreciation 1301 03/07/2018 Museum Assignment It s pretty clear that art
is one and major part of our life because we experience it in our daily basis. Art is related to who we
are somehow and sometimes words fails to express how art and our lives are interdependent to each
other. I have seen some art galleries a little while ago but now that I have learned all these things I
have completely different point of view towards every single art. I believe that Art is something that
captures the eye. Whether the artist is trying to communicate an emotion, an idea or something else,
the most important thing is how well the audience receives it. However, art can also be shocking,
something new. If a creative piece by an artist can spark the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One example would be the painting of The Shepherd Faustulus Bringing Romulus and Remus to His
Wife. This oil painting made in 1654 shows a father carrying two babies with a shit and handing them
back to his wife. This painting can persuade the viewers that a man is also capable of caring for babies
and it is not just the women s duty to look after babies. Another notable example of art of persuasion,
that is not in the Dallas Museum of Art but that is covered in the text book, would be the Egyptian
sculptures of the pharaoh. The sculpture had a human body with a wild animal face to represent the
personality of that particular god/ess in a symbolic way which symbolizes how powerful and different
the pharaoh is from the general citizen. The sculptures had one leg in front of the other to represent
that the pharaoh leads and to show the mightiness of the Egyptians to the rest of the world. I believe
this sculpture fit best in art of persuasions because it the purpose of this sculpture is to present the
pharaoh as a god to Egyptians and also to shape other civilizations opinion on

Key Steps to Winterizing Your RV Essay
Key Steps to Winterizing Your RV
Remember that RV that you spent all summer touring about the country in? Well its that time of year
when you need prepare for the long winter months that are ahead of us. It is very important that you
take these steps to protect your RV, if you don t this can result in some very unpleasant discoveries
next year when you try to go out on that first trip of the summer.
Plumbing
Winterizing the plumbing in your RV is probably the most important component to preparing your rig
for winter. If there is any chance of the temperatures reaching freezing, this is a must.
First off you need to flush out any water reservoirs: the blank and gray tanks, the water heater and
fresh water system. Once you have drained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And yes, rodents will try to get inside your RV; it would be like a five star resort for them to spend the
winter months in.
The first thing you want do is remove any food or fragrant items from the RV. This includes soap,
shampoo and toothpaste. Clean everywhere. Crumbs have habit of hiding in hard to find nooks and
crannies. There should be nothing to even resemble a food source for mice, rats or squirrels. Clean and
defrost your refrigerator and freezer. Prop open, their doors and leave an open container of baking
soda inside to absorb scents. Leaving dryer sheets, like Bounce, about the rig should help deter
rodents, but traditional mousetraps are quite effective.
Close all the curtains and blinds to protect the upholstery from the sun. Take batteries out of
flashlights and clocks, but don t forget to put them back in again next summer. Use moisture absorbent
like Damp Rid or Dri Z Air, this will help prevent mold and mildew from taking root.
Exterior Preparation
When preventing rodents from moving in to your RV you can t just rely on not having any appetizing
smelling items in there. Examine the exterior of your rig, from top to bottom, looking for any
openings that could let in a rodent. Don t forget a mouse can fit through any hole that you can stick
your finger in.
The best place to store your RV during the winter is under some kind of man made shelter, like a
carport. But, not all of us have access to something like that. The

The author used many literary devices throughout the book. The setting of the book takes place in the

Solar Declares, Sunspots And Radiation
Solar flares, sunspots, and radiation are all things that are on the Sun and are important parts of the
weather on the Sun. Solar flares are short outbursts of energy on the sun. Sunspots are dark spots in
the sun from the contrast of its surroundings. Radiation from the sun is also known as sunlight.
Radiation is a mixture of electromagnetic waves that range from infrared to ultraviolet rays. Solar
flares are caused by a sudden release of energy that has been stored in twisted magnetic fields. The
energy of a solar flare is equal to ten million volcanic eruptions, and can last anywhere between a
couple minutes to hours on end. Solar flares happen in sunspots where the magnetic fields are strong
and active. Solar flares release an incredible amount of energy. It takes energy from the sun about
eight minutes to reach Earth.

Large sunspots could have a diameter of about 20,000 miles, which is several times larger than the
Earth s diameter, and they can last for months. Sunspots have a dark central region called the umbra
and the lighter surrounding region of it is called the penumbra. A pore is a smaller sunspot that has no
penumbra. Pores may only be several hundred miles and last only for a few hours. The sunspot cycle
is the number of sunspots and solar latitudes at which they appear and vary over a period of 11 years.
During the beginning of a cycle sunspots are between 20 degrees and 40 degrees north and south of
the sun s equator. Later on in the cycle the spots increase in number and get closer to the solar equator.
Sunspot s magnetic fields have a strength 3,000 times greater than an average magnetic field of either
the Sun or Earth. Astronomers believe that may have something to do with the cause of

Math Mistakes Essay
Most people will never be audited by the Internal Revenue Service. However, if you make a mistake
while filing your taxes, then you have a higher chance of being audited. Below is a list of mistakes
that may trigger an audit:
Math Mistakes
It is estimated that there were 2.3 million math errors on tax returns in 2013. That is why it is a good
idea to double check all of the calculations before you submit your tax return. You should also make
sure you put the data in the right box. Electronically filing your taxes and using tax preparation
software can decrease your chance of making a math mistake. You also want to make sure that you
sign your returns. An unsigned tax return can also trigger an audit.

That is why you should make sure that you report all important information to the IRS. If you are
doing your taxes yourself, then it is a good idea to have a professional look over your forms to make
sure you have included all of the necessary information.
Too Many Deductions
If you have your own business, then you may be entitled to certain deductions. However, excessive
deductions may trigger an audit. Many people who have a home office claim their a part of their
mortgage or rent payment and utility bills as business expenses on their tax return.
However, there are requirements for claiming your home office as a business expense. The home
office must used be exclusively used for business purposes. The deductions that you are able to get
may not be that large. You will not benefit from claiming a lot of expenses on your tax return, and it
may also make the IRS suspicious.
Not Filing A Return Or Reporting No Income
If you do not file a tax return, then you may be contacted by the Internal Revenue Service. They may
think that you are trying to hide your income. Even if you do not owe any taxes, you will still need to
file a tax return. You will have to prove that you do not have any taxes

Mud River Stone Analysis
There have been many plays I ve had the pleasure of being a part of, but I can honestly say Mud,
River, Stone by Lynn Nottage has had the greatest impact on my life, this play allowed me to delve
not lonely deeper into the understanding of my self, but even being able to relate it to the
insurmountable social injustice we see that is taking place in today s society; you know it s said
theater has a way of relating to history and even current events this play showed me just how true that
statement is. Well, actually let s go back a bit and really break this down for a second. When Stephen
Davis told me that this particular play was going to be my thesis and that David Bradley was the role I
was going to play I truly didn t know how to feel, okay that s a lie I was happy, excited and then
nervous as I thought about all that would encompass; the process of putting on a full show as a thesis;

script I found that I try to memorize the smaller chucks first then memorize the longer sections, I
thought this tactic would work best for this script; I quickly discovered that for myself that the
opposite would be the crowning victor in this battle. It was easier for me to memorize the beginning

Bruno Is Not Dead
ONE
Bruno is not dead. His voice still rings in my head, his scent of cacao and dirt still linger in my nose. I
wish I could touch him and wrap my arms around torso, and tell him how sorry I am. But I cannot, I
am a coward. I am afraid of looking at my son. I know that he is still around, I can feel him following
me. I can feel his cold stare lurking behind me, I can feel the guilt he put upon me.
Whenever you lose something, a necklace, your keys or whatever. Everyone tells you to look in the
last place you saw it. You search everywhere, but without luck it is nowhere. The last place I was able
to talk to Bruno was in my office, where I now spend the last of my crippling days.

skin looked sick and pale and his head was still bald. Looking at him made me weak.
Bruno almost looked like a Jew.
TWO
Every time I visited the gas chambers there Bruno sat, staring at me almost as if he wanted to tell me
something. Today, I worked up the courage to go up to Bruno and he said no words.
He just stared at me, with fear in his eyes. He looked at me the way my soldiers looked at me. He said
nothing but his voice continued to occupy my thoughts.
Swallowing the giant lump in my throat, I invited him into the house. When we did arrive Bruno went
inside of the house and grabbed a blanket he placed it on the ground in the garden and he sat down, he
patted the spot next to his inviting me to sit down.
We lied down there for hours until it grew dark, Bruno refused to speak the whole time we were there
he would point out clouds and constellations but no words. We spent an hour in silence just staring at
the moon. Bruno pointed at a shooting star. Did you make a wish? I asked. He nodded his head.

Child Trafficking Essays
Child Trafficking The global market of child trafficking is at over $12 billion a year with over 2
million child victims ( Stop Child Trafficking Now 1). This statement from the article Stop Child
Trafficking Now describes how serious this crisis is nationwide. Child labor, illegal adoptions and
child prostitution are the three forms child trafficking typically exists as ( Riverkids Project 1). There
has been a rising number of Cambodian children being trafficked for sexual exploitation and forced
labor because of poverty, unemployment and lack of education; however organizations such as the

younger and younger.
The small country of Cambodia has become a transit, source, and destination for child trafficking
victims. There are many children going through Cambodia from Vietnam and Thailand as a result of

The Underlying Causes Of World War I
Underlying Causes of WWI
Though men around the world were eager to march off to war, none of them knew the dangers that
were ahead. During World War I, 10 million people across Europe died fighting for what they believed
in. WWI lasted for four years between 1914 and 1918. Millions of soldiers around the world fought
for what they believed in hopes of bettering their homelands and protecting their allies. People were
happy to support their country in hopes of new opportunities and better resources. Soldiers predicted
the war would be over in six months, but they soon realized World War I would last almost half a
decade in the trenches. Though the main cause of World War I was imperialism, other causes include
militarism and alliances.

Two major alliances, Triple Entente and Triple Alliance were created in 1907 and 1882. The Triple
Entente was formed by France, Russia, and Great Britain and the Triple Alliance was made up of
Germany, Austria Hungary, and Italy. These two huge alliances made up of the Central Powers, each
stood up for their own men and fought to the death in the battles. In a map titled, European Alliances,
the European countries are separated with different colors to show which alliance each country
associated themselves with. The countries in black represent the Triple Alliance, and the countries
shaded gray make up the Triple Entente in 1914. The white countries with black polka dots show the
neutral countries. The map solidifies the claim that alliances were an underlying cause of World War I

Judge Danforth Quotes
In the play, The Crucible, Judge Danforth is an extremely important character. He plays a significant
role in the plot of the story, mainly because he is the person who presides over the witch trials in
Salem, Massachusetts. Generally, as a person, Judge Danforth is gruff and emotionless. Although, as
the play goes on, one can tell that he is quite vulnerable and gullible at the same time. Danforth s
decisions and actions have a huge part in the story, and it is interesting to see how his beliefs play out.
In The Crucible, Judge Danforth is determined to stop the hysteria over the accusations of witchcraft,
but he ultimately ends up adding more chaos and tragedy to the situation at hand.
To begin, Judge Danforth is a very powerful and influential character when it comes to the Salem
Witch Trials. He is the deputy governor of the town, and it his responsibility to determine the fates of
the accused. It all begins when the girls are caught dancing and singing in the woods with Tituba.
They decide to accuse her (and their) actions of being those of witchcraft to avoid getting in trouble,

that would be too bad for his own reputation. Therefore, innocent people continue to die. For example,
during the trial when John Proctor admits his affair with Abigail, Danforth says, You deny every scrap
and tittle of this? . Abby then responds with an overly sassy answer, yet Danforth does nothing about
it. He just continues to believe Abby s wicked accusations and denials, even when it becomes clear
that they are complete

Role Of The Foster Parent On The Continuum Of Carer And...
Role of the Foster Parent
One of the most significant studies found in the literature was a qualitative study conducted by
Schofiell, Beek, Ward, and Biggart on the role of the foster parent (2013). The purpose of the study
was to understand the boundaries of the role of the foster parent on the continuum of carer and parent
(Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart, 2013). The study was a portion of a larger study on permanency in
foster care (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart, 2013).
Schofiell, Beek, Ward and Biggart recapped on the concept of being a professional, someone who has
specific skills and training, which leads to identifying foster parents as professionals (2013). They
further state foster parents should be viewed as professional working with other professionals to meet
the needs of the foster child (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart, 2013).Their study attempted to
understand how individuals view or define their role as foster parents (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart,
2013).
The research design used Role theory as the theoretical framework (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart,
2013). Role theory is a theoretical approach to understand on individuals fit into social positions

Gender and Power Relations in Browning’s Porphria’s Lover...
Gender and Power Relations in Browning s Porphria s Lover and My Last Duchess
Robert Browning provides a critical view of gender and power relations in his dramatic monologues
Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess. The dramatic monologue, as S.S. Curry has written, reveals
the struggle in the depths of the soul (11). Browning delves into the minds of characters to show their
conceptions of women and ideas of power. He explores the mental processes of the characters, and
invites readers to question societal ideas of power and gender. The mental pathologies of the speakers
is emphasized, which forces readers to examine the sanity of their own notions of gender dynamics.

In men, in general, sexual desire is inherent and spontaneous whereas in the other sex, the desire is
dormant, if not non existent, till excited (457). Greg s terminology is extremely power laden.
Spontaneous has the connotation of energy and activity, whereas dormant and victim imply inactivity.
An important concept is the assumption that men, the coarser sex, act on women, the weaker sex
(457).
Like prostitutes, the women in Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess also violate traditional gender
roles. For that reason, the men take it upon themselves to bring the power relation back to that of
convention, where men are bearers of power and have control in relationships. The means by which
this power reversion is accomplished, however, are subject to examination.
Foucault s theories are helpful in understanding Porphyria s Lover. In the poem, the male character,
who is the narrator, perceives himself to elicit a confession from the woman. Inherent in the idea of
confession are power dynamics. Confession is ...a ritual that unfolds within a power relationship, for
one does not confess without the presence (or virtual presence) of a partner who is not simply the
interlocutor but the authority who requires the confession... (Foucault 61). Confession is a socially
constructed process in which it is necessary to have a mediator as well as a confessor.

Though Out History, Humans Have Consistently Committed
Though out history, humans have consistently committed horrific acts through war, terrorism, torture
and other atrocities. Some people believe that society can prevent people from committing such
horrific acts. However, contrary to the belief that brutality can disappear, the terrible acts by humans
are not going to disappear because brutality is human nature. People are naturally cruel, and regardless
of people s effort or the environment, one is inclined to be brutal. In Maggie Nelson s Great Watch,
Nelson explains how people can be adapt to brutality. The people continually choose to be brutal when

Analysis of Mrs. Dalloway – Virginia Woolf Mrs. Dalloway, published in 1925, is a romantic drama
with deep psychological approaching in to the world of urban English society in the summer of 1923,
five years after the end of World War I. The book begins in the morning with the arrangements for a
party Clarissa Dalloway will give and it ends late in the evening when the guests are all leaving. There
are many flashbacks to tell us the past of each character, but it does not leave the range of those few

Septimus sensibility is the same as Clarissa s, but he does not control it as she does. She retains her
awareness of reality while she responds to it. Septimus, by contrast, is not always able to distinguish
between his personal response and the external reality in his madness, he feels that if the birds sing
they must be speaking to him; if the aero plane writes in the sky it must be signaling to him. Even
though the two never meet, these two correspond in that they attempt to maintain possession of
themselves, of their souls. Almost all the action occurs in the thoughts of characters, and, the reader
must piece together the story from random pieces of information that Woolf provides. The point of
view changes from one character to the other so naturally that the reader only realizes it much later.
Woolf s characters reveal their depths gradually and slowly; fragments of thought and memory emerge
as they respond to and interact with their environment and other characters , and from these fragments
we piece together each character s past. While most conventional 3rd person narratives stick close to
one character, this narrative gets close to many. The characters in this type of narrative, especially
Mrs. Dalloway are round, this is, are complex, they have been through a process of transformation
throughout the novel being able to in a convincing way surprise us, as they are built based on various

The characters above are all of mythological ideas, some possessing some biblical traits such as Venus
with the halo created by the reflection of the orange grove.
The red lines drawn on the image show the commonly used technique of perspective leading to the
vanishing point which is the centre of the image. This is where Venus stands, which is a technical
element conveying her importance within the painting.
The impeccable attention and detail on Flora s face indicates that he was of the High Renaissance
movement.
Bartocelli used Egg tempera to create this painting. He has connected the colours of the paint with the
message behind each part and being of the image. With the use of egg tempera, he had to work fast aw

Born in 1954, Michael Francis Moore is an American documentary filmmaker. His opening
documentary, Roger Me, launched his career as one of America s best known and most controversial
documentarians (In IMDB). However, his documentary that studies the events of the Columbine high
school massacre is what put him on the map. Bowling for Columbine won the Academy Award for
Documentary feature in 2002. His notable films also include Fahrenheit 9/11, the highest grossing
documentary of all time that presents a contentious view on the presidency of George W. Bush. His
latest documentary, Where to Invade Next, premiered in the US on October 2, 2015.
Apparent in all his films, Moore is unafraid to make use of entertainment to discuss political,
economic, industrial, cultural, and social concerns that informs, provokes, and sometimes, manipulates
its audience. Moore utilizes the documentary form of filmmaking that adapts to the shifts in popular
culture where entertainment value is crucial. Though his chosen subject matter are commonly treated
in a scholarly and profound manner, he remains critical by treating these topics in a comedic and
sardonic manner.
Apart from being a filmmaker, Moore is also a television screenwriter through his political comedy

Analysis Of Rainbow s End And Jane Harrison s Rainbows End
As a result of discovery, individuals are opened to the opportunity to transform and in doing so, renew
perceptions of themselves and those around them. In having renewed perceptions, individuals are
automatically exposed to new experiences and perspectives, and as a result undergo personal growth.
Change is an aspect of discovery that is enabled by past experiences and in this, transformation is
achieved. Through Jane Harrison s Rainbow s End, a 1950 s play about three generations of an
Aboriginal family, and Gwen Harwood s Father and Child, a poem exploring the transformation of a

responses we find as a result of this. Maturation and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Feelings of sadness and sympathy towards Dolly and the situation she is in. Individuals may feel a
sense of loss, where they are encouraged to rediscover something about themselves and essentially,
gain a new understanding of themselves and those around them. Through the sexual assault scene, we
establish that Dolly has lost all the innocence she once endured. As a result of this loss, she matures
and transforms into who she becomes. This is shown through Harrison s use of symbolism. When
Dolly s clothes are stripped off her, this shows essentially the stripping away of her innocence. From
this we see that she is no longer a young girl, but a woman. We see this in the the way she defies
Jungi. Through Dolly s discovery and transformation, her emotional state is threatened, thus causing
her ultimate change. This concept of Dolly s loss of innocence transforming into a growth of maturity
implies that growth is compulsory as a result of a loss or significant event in an individual s life. Some
discoveries may be the result of significant experiences that one undergoes. In moving on from these
experiences, the discoveries can be provoked and have the ability to open the eyes of individuals.
Gwen Harwood s Father and Child explores the growth and maturation of a child. Harwood shows the
juxtaposition between innocence and maturity and the way that discovering this deepens the
perception one has of the world. The

The Edict Of Milan Analysis
The Edict of Milan was Constantine s way of wanting to end the Roman persecution of Christians.
Both Constantine and Licinius Augustus established this new law in 314 CE. This law is what later
became known as the Edict of Milan. The consequences that it had for the relationship between
Christians and Jews in the Roman Empire was that most of the Christians were pleased with the edict.
It had meant an end to the persecutions that most had suffered from time to time, and a new access to
power and influence. Others had seen reason to be concerned, because the edict had only mentioned
Christians. The laws that came afterward impacted the Jews, for it had limited their rights as citizens
of the Roman Empire.
St. John Chrysostom represented both old and new forms of Christian thinking about Jews and
Christians by his courage in criticizing the rich and powerful and his compassion for the poor, and in
his sermons he challenged injustice and denounced the comfortable arrogance of the wealthy. He had
used his skill as an orator to attack the openness of many Christians to Jewish practices and faith,
which to Chrysostom meant a weakening of specifically Christian identity. He had viciously attacked
members of his own congregation, being Christians who attended synagogues and observed Jewish
festivals. He believed Jews would degenerate because of their odious assassination of Christ. ... Show

Sondheim s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
In Sondheim s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the tradition of New Comedy is
faithfully brought to life in a musical set in ancient Rome, but relevant to the sensibilities of its 1960 s
audience. Through movie sets that suggest Roman surroundings, and comedic sequences that embody
the spirit of the sixties, Sondheim creates a story where Roman characters, acting according to their
types, draw in modern audience members and create a energetic romp through ancient Rome that is
firmly rooted in the past, but could only have been taken in sixties era America. Many aspects of the
film pay clear homage to New Comedy. The plot is simplistic, focusing on the desire of a young man
to get around the restrictions of his parents and gain the affections of the girl he loves. The characters,
although not boring, are one dimensional. Hero, the love sick youth, has one hope in the film: to unite
himself with Philia. Pseudolus, his slave, only wishes to earn his freedom. The life s work of Erronius
is to find his children, each bestowed with a ring bearing an engraved gaggle of geese; and so on
through the inhabitants of this depiction of Rome. Each character does whatever it takes to achieve
their one goal in life, and this is what builds the frenetic disposition of the plot, causing twists and
turns especially where the very determined instigator Pseudolus is concerned. There is no character
development, however, and every character finishes the film with same endeavor he

Jewish Migration And The Holocaust
While researching texts written about Jewish Diaspora, I came across many documentary publications
on Holocaust. This tragic part of Jewish history is very well documented as opposite to the Jewish
Migration. I found few authors who published articles and books on Impacts of the Holocaust on
Jewish Migration. My goal in this research paper is to explore the topic of Jewish Migration by
connecting it to the Holocaust. To achieve this goal, I have organized my paper in the chronological
order. I have tried to analyse reasons and barriers of the Migration of Jewish during the ten year
period. It starts with Hitler coming to power and ends with establishment of the State of Israel. In my
conclusion I tried to understand how modern world responds to Holocaust. The Holocaust is one of
the most tragic pages in the history of mankind and one of the greatest tragedies of the Jewish people
many children of survivors, who experienced their parents silence and avoidance of discussing the
past and their family s fate, felt this as a personal threat (Dalia Ofer10). Holocaust was a cold blooded
and pre deliberate decision to destroy a nation. It was estimated that during the Holocaust about 60%
of the total Jewish population of Europe was destroyed according to official memorial to the victims
of the Holocaust. It is not possible to establish the exact number of victims among the Jewish people
due to the lack of reliable data on the extent of the genocide ( Refugees. ). Jews were

Why DonT We Complain By William F. Buckley Jr.
If a person had the option to change the world for the better, would they? If they would, then why is it
when a person gets minor inconvenienced by a small problem like not having enough chips for the
bean dip, they just accept the problem and they do not do anything about it. William F. Buckley Jr.
Wrote an essay called, Why Don t We Complain . Buckley is giving the readers his experience on both
the lack of care within the political system and also the apathy people give when it comes to life s
minor roadblocks. Society needs to learn that fixing minor problems when given the chance is better
than letting a problem grow so much that it starts affecting other people. The audience that this essay
is directed to will learn the message of why people should complain, and the purpose the author has to
complain. People will do nothing to fix minor, everyday problems; even if the problem is as minor as
someone invades someone else s personal space. For example, While Buckley was riding on an
airplane, he was inconvenienced by a flight stewardess that could not take Buckley s empty food tray
back to the kitchen (76). If he would have only been more affirmative with his words, things would
have definitely been different for him. So considering that the author has had experience with being
complacent in the real world, Buckley knows the problem of people being passive on a personal level.
Buckley wants to show the audience that even the author of the essay can go through the same

Samurai Classes
A class of professional warriors arose, more than a thousand years ago. The Samurai and the Knight
class. They swore allegiance to protecting lords and fought in battle. Both classes were mighty
warriors, but if they were engaged in battle who would triumph? The real answer is, the Samurai class.
First of all, the Samurai has mighty weaponry, training experience, and suitable armor. One reason is
that the Samurai would win in combat because of their weapons. The Knight class are taught some
skills, but the Samurai took to ranged weapons the way Knights never did. The knight s English
longbows failed, where Samurai s weaponry was far more advanced. Samurai also had the talent of
shooting bows with deadly accuracy. It only takes one lucky shot to put you down, and being under
fire without a way to reply is always scary. (Quora 4) This explains how when the samurai are armed,
aimed at you and ready to shoot, there s no question you ll be dead in seconds. The second reason
Samurai would win in a battle against the knights is because they are very similar with different types
of combat. They were trained young, and were trained in tactics for these type of environment. They
were trained with a lot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Katana, tachis, or what ever sword the Samurai went to use, was a tempered steel edge, folded on a
untreated steel, or even a other hard metal backing. Because of this, a Katana edge can be sharped fine
without any repercussions unlike the Longsword, but overall it was a less resistant blade, Samurai
sword got bent, they would need it reforged, Longswords would be more flexible because of it fully
tempered steel, a hit that would a Katana, would flex with the Longsword and the Longsword would
bend back straight. Weight wise Longswords, were versatile enough that it could be held in one hand
or two, and feel like part of the arm, while Katana weighting was more onto the edge, one handed
wise it was

Essay on The Debate Concerning Secondhand Smoke
We all know that smoking poses a significant risk to our health. We can make an educated decision
about whether or not to smoke, and if we do decide to smoke, we should be willing to accept any
negative effects such as lung cancer and heart disease later in our lives. But what about exposure to
secondhand smoke? At this point, we don t always have a choice in exposure to the smoke of others.
The Office of the Surgeon General (OGS) has documented a high level of exposure to secondhand
smoke among nonsmoking adults and children in the United States. Blood tests of nonsmokers for the
presence of cotinine, a chemical produced by nicotine, indicate that 88% of nonsmoking Americans
are exposed to secondhand smoke (US, OGS, Clean).

The EPA determined that secondhand smoke is a Group A carcinogen, a classification of pollutants
that have been proven to cause cancer. The tobacco industry responded to the report with a well
funded advertising, public relations, and legal counterattack. Since then, controversy over the topic
has spread, both politically and socially. But what exactly are the risks associated with secondhand
smoke, and how has the American public responded to those risks?
Secondhand smoke is most harmful to young children, especially those with asthma or other
respiratory diseases. The EPA notes that 43% of children in the United States under the age of 11 live
in a home with at least one smoker. Children exposed to secondhand smoke tend to have more
bronchitis, pneumonia, respiratory infections, fluid in the middle ear, and asthma. And if both parents
smoke, or if the child is frequently exposed to smoke, the child s chances of showing symptoms of
these diseases increase (US, EPA, Indoor).
Infants and toddlers up to 18 months of age suffer between 150,000 and 300,000 cases of lung
infections because of secondhand smoke, according to EPA estimates. Secondhand smoke produces
symptoms of asthma in an

Since online and retail items require late production much of the wholesale business is pushed first through production. This allows for their wholesale to fulfill their orders, but not always the retail stores. To make matters worst, sometimes during the holidays their supplier would not be able to produce their containers needed for their production, which would also throw back production. Production planning becomes even more complicated because of the influence of the out of stocks, which would cause the sales graphs to be heavily distorted. The graphs would be distorted if items were out of stock for a month and the backorders were filled in a short period of time. Whenever there were overstock issues, retail stores would push the items through discounts. Often when there were out of stock issues for the wholesalers the company would take the supplies from their retail stores and divert it to the wholesaler s order. Lastly, when special orders were placed for wholesale, it was not uncommon for the production plans to be put on hold to focus on special orders. As a result from all the production errors, the sales graph would have unnatural spikes, yet these spikes would be included for planning production for the following year. Demand forecasting is a large problem for Rogers Chocolates because if items were out of stock for a month and back orders were filled in a short time, the sales graph ... • 3. Argumentative Essay On Birth Control Birth control. Most of the women in America have tried some type of birth control during their lifetime. Currently, we are having debates to see if birth control should be free or at a lower cost to citizens. Why do we need birth control if we already have condoms? Do we really have affordable birth control? Can we get it easily? Does it do more than just prevent pregnancies? If birth control really helping women and the economy? In this research paper, I will be going over these questions. Birth control is a benefit to modern society and we have benefited from it greatly. To get the ball rolling, we all know that taking birth control comes with a price, just like any other daily necessity. Car Industry Analysis Paper In this paper I will be looking at the possibility of purchasing a car I will be researching and analyzing the current economy for strength and weaknesses which reflects the economy as a whole. I will attempt to describe the economics terms gross domestic product and real GDP, nominal GDP, unemployment rate, inflation. I will analyze historical trends, the relationship between inflation, unemployment and the business cycle of the industry. Gross domestic product is the total market value of products and services within the borders of a given county in a specific time frame. (GDP measures the monetary value of final goods and services that is, those that are bought by the final user produced in a country in a given period of time (say a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In car sales I have to look at 3 components the producer price index and gas and fuel prices. Looking at auto sales is a good way to look at demand for automobiles. The higher the consumer demands the more or less should be produced. Fuel prices as well as oil have a dramatic impact on auto sales, if prices are up the less likely the consumer will opt for a large vehicle. When buying a vehicle is good to look at buying a CPI (Consumer price index) measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for the output (Bureau of Labor Statistics 2015) Another thing to analyze are interest rates as they are important to our economy. Interest rates lead to more businesses borrowing money; if interest rates are low that means consumer will buy the product. Interest rates are charged by the country s central or federal bank loans and advances to control money supply in the economy in the banking sector which is typically done in a quarter bases to control inflation and stabilizes the country s exchange rate . ( Kirch,Vick 2006). Interest rates and unemployment rates usually go hand in hand in the auto industry it seems. When the auto industry is going steady and heading towards a peak performance, unemployment is low and interest rates are a little higher due to supply and demand. • 5. Hitchcock Rope Analysis Hanging by Hitchcock s Rope Famously known as The Master of Suspense , Alfred Hitchcock knew how to keep an audience on the edge of their chair, just waiting to see what happens next. Hitchcock s career started in the silent era of films, gained increased success through talking pictures, and soared into infamy when color film became common. Hitchcock s famous cinematography, editing, directing of his thoughtfully selected actors, and extraordinary attention to detail, are obvious reasons why there is no denying that he is one of the greatest directors the film industry has ever seen. OSU Media student, Joseph Ford, confirms why Hitchcock is his favorite directors, Hitchcock s lighting and shot sequences are unmatched, he was the ultimate perfectionist and, in my opinion, there is hardly a flaw in any of his films (Ford). There are endless lists and debates about which Alfred Hitchcock film is the greatest, and each one of his movies deserves serious consideration. It could be contested that with the unique story, intriguing characters portrayed by great actors, and the extraordinary cinematography, that Alfred Hitchcock s Rope is potentially his greatest film. Alfred Hitchcock was never known for original stories, always taking his inspiration from novels or plays. Rope was based on a British play by Patrick Hamilton, which in turn was loosely based on the Leopold and Loeb murder case from 1924. Example Of Art Of Persuasion Mikiyas Hailemichael Art Appreciation 1301 03/07/2018 Museum Assignment It s pretty clear that art is one and major part of our life because we experience it in our daily basis. Art is related to who we are somehow and sometimes words fails to express how art and our lives are interdependent to each other. I have seen some art galleries a little while ago but now that I have learned all these things I have completely different point of view towards every single art. I believe that Art is something that captures the eye. Whether the artist is trying to communicate an emotion, an idea or something else, the most important thing is how well the audience receives it. However, art can also be shocking, something new. Another notable example of art of persuasion, that is not in the Dallas Museum of Art but that is covered in the text book, would be the Egyptian sculptures of the pharaoh. The sculpture had a human body with a wild animal face to represent the personality of that particular god/ess in a symbolic way which symbolizes how powerful and different the pharaoh is from the general citizen. The sculptures had one leg in front of the other to represent that the pharaoh leads and to show the mightiness of the Egyptians to the rest of the world. Role of the Foster Parent One of the most significant studies found in the literature was a qualitative study conducted by Schofiell, Beek, Ward, and Biggart on the role of the foster parent (2013). The purpose of the study was to understand the boundaries of the role of the foster parent on the continuum of carer and parent (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart, 2013). The study was a portion of a larger study on permanency in foster care (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart, 2013). Schofiell, Beek, Ward and Biggart recapped on the concept of being a professional, someone who has specific skills and training, which leads to identifying foster parents as professionals (2013). They further state foster parents should be viewed as professional working with other professionals to meet the needs of the foster child (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart, 2013).Their study attempted to understand how individuals view or define their role as foster parents (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart, 2013). The research design used Role theory as the theoretical framework (Schofield, Beek, Ward, Biggart, 2013). Gender and Power Relations in Browning s Porphria s Lover and My Last Duchess Robert Browning provides a critical view of gender and power relations in his dramatic monologues Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess. The dramatic monologue, as S.S. Curry has written, reveals the struggle in the depths of the soul (11). Browning delves into the minds of characters to show their conceptions of women and ideas of power. He explores the mental processes of the characters, and invites readers to question societal ideas of power and gender. The mental pathologies of the speakers is emphasized, which forces readers to examine the sanity of their own notions of gender dynamics. In the Victorian age, the idea of separate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In men, in general, sexual desire is inherent and spontaneous whereas in the other sex, the desire is dormant, if not non existent, till excited (457). Greg s terminology is extremely power laden. Spontaneous has the connotation of energy and activity, whereas dormant and victim imply inactivity. An important concept is the assumption that men, the coarser sex, act on women, the weaker sex (457). Like prostitutes, the women in Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess also violate traditional gender roles. For that reason, the men take it upon themselves to bring the power relation back to that of convention, where men are bearers of power and have control in relationships. The means by which this power reversion is accomplished, however, are subject to examination. Foucault s theories are helpful in understanding Porphyria s Lover. In the poem, the male character, who is the narrator, perceives himself to elicit a confession from the woman. Inherent in the idea of confession are power dynamics. Confession is ...a ritual that unfolds within a power relationship, for one does not confess without the presence (or virtual presence) of a partner who is not simply the interlocutor but the authority who requires the confession... This is shown through Harrison s use of symbolism. When Dolly s clothes are stripped off her, this shows essentially the stripping away of her innocence. Both Constantine and Licinius Augustus established this new law in 314 CE. This law is what later became known as the Edict of Milan. The consequences that it had for the relationship between Christians and Jews in the Roman Empire was that most of the Christians were pleased with the edict. It had meant an end to the persecutions that most had suffered from time to time, and a new access to power and influence. Others had seen reason to be concerned, because the edict had only mentioned Christians. The laws that came afterward impacted the Jews, for it had limited their rights as citizens of the Roman Empire. St. John Chrysostom represented both old and new forms of Christian thinking about Jews and Christians by his courage in criticizing the rich and powerful and his compassion for the poor, and in his sermons he challenged injustice and denounced the comfortable arrogance of the wealthy. He had used his skill as an orator to attack the openness of many Christians to Jewish practices and faith, which to Chrysostom meant a weakening of specifically Christian identity. Sondheim s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum In Sondheim s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the tradition of New Comedy is faithfully brought to life in a musical set in ancient Rome, but relevant to the sensibilities of its 1960 s audience. Through movie sets that suggest Roman surroundings, and comedic sequences that embody the spirit of the sixties, Sondheim creates a story where Roman characters, acting according to their types, draw in modern audience members and create a energetic romp through ancient Rome that is firmly rooted in the past, but could only have been taken in sixties era America. The Holocaust is one of the most tragic pages in the history of mankind and one of the greatest tragedies of the Jewish people many children of survivors, who experienced their parents silence and avoidance of discussing the past and their family s fate, felt this as a personal threat (Dalia Ofer10). Holocaust was a cold blooded and pre deliberate decision to destroy a nation. It was estimated that during the Holocaust about 60% of the total Jewish population of Europe was destroyed according to official memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. It is not possible to establish the exact number of victims among the Jewish people due to the lack of reliable data on the extent of the genocide ( Refugees. ). Jews were ... • 42. Why DonT We Complain By William F. Buckley Jr. If a person had the option to change the world for the better, would they? If they would, then why is it when a person gets minor inconvenienced by a small problem like not having enough chips for the bean dip, they just accept the problem and they do not do anything about it. William F. Buckley Jr. Wrote an essay called, Why Don t We Complain . Buckley is giving the readers his experience on both the lack of care within the political system and also the apathy people give when it comes to life s minor roadblocks. Society needs to learn that fixing minor problems when given the chance is better than letting a problem grow so much that it starts affecting other people. The audience that this essay is directed to will learn the message of why people should complain, and the purpose the author has to complain. People will do nothing to fix minor, everyday problems; even if the problem is as minor as someone invades someone else s personal space. For example, While Buckley was riding on an airplane, he was inconvenienced by a flight stewardess that could not take Buckley s empty food tray back to the kitchen (76). If he would have only been more affirmative with his words, things would have definitely been different for him. So considering that the author has had experience with being complacent in the real world, Buckley knows the problem of people being passive on a personal level. Buckley wants to show the audience that even the author of the essay can go through the same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because of this, a Katana edge can be sharped fine without any repercussions unlike the Longsword, but overall it was a less resistant blade, Samurai sword got bent, they would need it reforged, Longswords would be more flexible because of it fully tempered steel, a hit that would a Katana, would flex with the Longsword and the Longsword would bend back straight. • 44. Essay on The Debate Concerning Secondhand Smoke We all know that smoking poses a significant risk to our health. We can make an educated decision about whether or not to smoke, and if we do decide to smoke, we should be willing to accept any negative effects such as lung cancer and heart disease later in our lives. But what about exposure to secondhand smoke? At this point, we don t always have a choice in exposure to the smoke of others. The Office of the Surgeon General (OGS) has documented a high level of exposure to secondhand smoke among nonsmoking adults and children in the United States. Blood tests of nonsmokers for the presence of cotinine, a chemical produced by nicotine, indicate that 88% of nonsmoking Americans are exposed to secondhand smoke (US, OGS, Clean). In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The EPA determined that secondhand smoke is a Group A carcinogen, a classification of pollutants that have been proven to cause cancer. The tobacco industry responded to the report with a well funded advertising, public relations, and legal counterattack. Since then, controversy over the topic has spread, both politically and socially. But what exactly are the risks associated with secondhand smoke, and how has the American public responded to those risks? Secondhand smoke is most harmful to young children, especially those with asthma or other respiratory diseases. The EPA notes that 43% of children in the United States under the age of 11 live in a home with at least one smoker. Children exposed to secondhand smoke tend to have more bronchitis, pneumonia, respiratory infections, fluid in the middle ear, and asthma. And if both parents smoke, or if the child is frequently exposed to smoke, the child s chances of showing symptoms of these diseases increase (US, EPA, Indoor). Infants and toddlers up to 18 months of age suffer between 150,000 and 300,000 cases of lung infections because of secondhand smoke, according to EPA estimates.
