  Culture is
Defined by Actions
The values of your employees drive
their actions, which, in turn, define
culture.
Tenet 2: Everyone
Contributes to Culture
Values are what drive how work gets
done, and every individual in your
organization has a personal values
system.
Thus, everyone’s values matter.
Tenet 3: Culture is Bottom
Up and Top Down
It’s important for leadership to understand
where they want to be with their cultural
values, but they also need to understand
where they are with the ones that are
already present within the people who make
up the organization - and focus on bringing
those two pieces together.
Tenet 4: There is No
One Right Culture
It is true that there are well-aligned
cultures and misaligned cultures.
But it is important to remember that
there are many different ways to
succeed, and not all of them will follow
the latest management bestseller.
Tenet 5:	
  Workers
Rarely Conform to
“Fit” New Culture
There are mountains of psychological
research that prove that after your
second decade on the planet, your
personality and values are set.
Culture change efforts are rarely
successful for this very reason. The
expectation placed on people is too
great.
