John Piper Analysis
John Piper gives several reasons for why we as Christians believe that the Son became human without
ceasing to be God. The first is brought up in verse 14. It states that the Word dwelt among us. So if the
Word is God, and the Word dwelt among us, the that means Christ was still one hundred percent God
and also man. This is the reason shown in Matthew 1:23 when the angel states that the child born of a
virgin s name will be called Immanuel, which means God with us. When the Word became flesh, it did
not cease to be God, the Son s name means that God his here, dwelling among us. The second reason
is also in verse 14. It states that We have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father. He
goes on to specify what the meaning of as, actually is. Some try to say that as, refers to simply being
like or similar to the Son of the Father. However, when it says as, it is saying that it really is the Son.
What it means for us as Christians that the Word became flesh cannot be simply boiled down to one
single reason. However, it begins with Philippians 2:5 7 when it says, Have this mind among
yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count ...

I know of many times where I have not been living my life in the ways of sin. But, being born again
means that I should put away the life I had before I was saved by God s grace. Sometimes I forget the
actual events that allowed me to be born again. I get too caught up in my worldly human life and
forget the most amazing gift that has ever been given. Jesus humbled himself to the point that he
became human just so he could die in my place. It is amazing that I can put something like that in the
back of my mind while I worry about grades or money. I should have a constant want to praise God
and spread the gospel. It at least seems fair after everything God has done for

Apollo Victorious Over Python Analysis
Final Paper
For this research paper, I will compare and contrast Pietro Francavilla s sculpture of Apollo Victorious
over Python from the Renaissances period to Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres s painting of Oedipus
and the Sphinx from the Neo Classical period. The two pieces of work were both displayed at the
Walters Art Musuem. Apollo Victorious over Python was displayed on the 2nd floor in the Sculpture
Court, it was the open and spacious center room. Oedipus and the Sphinx was displayed on the 4th
floor in the From Rye to Raphael, the Walters Story exhibition. I chose to compare these two works of
art because out of all of the works I saw they both stood out to me the most. These two works are
different, obviously because one is a sculpture

Russian Duels In A Hero Of Our Time And Eugene Onegin
Narrative Russian writers seem to enjoy inserting a duel in their literature. There s Pierre s duel with
Dolohov in Tolstoy s War and Peace; there s Onegin s duel with Lensky in Pushkin s Eugene Onegin;
there s Pechorin s duel with Grushnitsky in Lermontov s A Hero of Our Time, and Bazarov duel with
Pavel in Turgenev s Fathers and Sons. In this paper, however, making comparisons between the duels
from A Hero of Our Time and Eugene Onegin will be the primary focus. When it comes to deciding if
dueling was a noble form of conflict resolution, both writers seem to indirectly portray to the reader
that duels are unimpressive and ineffective. Both writers emphasize on the challenges that could
happen before, during, and after a Russian duel. If the writers wanted to portray to the readers that
duels were honorable, then they would have not displayed the challenges that each character faced
while they participated in the duel. A similarity between the two duels of A Hero of Our Time and
Eugene Onegin is who ultimately ends up being killed. Both Lermontov and Onegin kill a character
that was foolish, and who, perhaps, should not have died. In A Hero of Our Time, Grushnitsky
foolishly challenges Pechorin after mistakenly assuming that Pechorin snuck into Princess Mary s
residence to see her when she was home alone. However, Pechorin had actually snuck into the
residence to see Vera, but Grushnitsky, blinded by jealousy, does not realize the truth. During the duel,
Pechorin gains

Digestive Diseases And The Digestive Tract
Digestive diseases are disorders of the digestive tract, which is sometimes called the gastrointestinal
(GI) tract (Eisner, 2014). The gastrointestinal (GI) tract is a flexible muscular tube that extends from
the mouth, through the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum to the anus
(Whitney Rolfes, 2012). During digestion, the body breaks down foods into nutrients to prepare for
absorption. During absorption, the cells of the small intestine take the nutrients and send them to the
blood or lymph cells (Whitney Rolfes, 2012). After absorption, the body uses the nutrients for energy
and building blocks for the cells. The digestive tract consists of: the esophagus, stomach, large
intestine, small intestine, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some experience mild symptoms only happening occasionally after eating a certain food but many
struggle with severe symptoms on a daily basis, leading them to consume large amounts of antacids to
try and get relief.
Acid reflux is very common. The American College of Gastroenterology says that over 60 million
Americans experience heartburn at least once a month and at least 15 million as often as daily
(MacGill, 2015).
Acid reflux occurs when some of the acid content of the stomach flows back up into the esophagus.
The stomach contains hydrochloric acid, which is there to help aid in digestion and to protect against
harmful bacteria. The gastroesophageal sphincter protects the esophagus from the acid in the stomach
by acting as a valve and not letting the acid back up into the esophagus. At times, the valve can fail
and it allows the acid to back up into the esophagus, thus creating the sensation of heartburn (MacGill,
2015).
There can be many different causes to acid reflux occurring. Having a hiatal hernia (a hole in the
diaphragm which allows the upper stomach to enter the chest cavity) can be a factor. Pregnancy can
cause acid reflux due to the pressure being placed on internal organs. Lifestyle choices including:
obesity; smoking; lack of exercise; and high salt intake can all contribute to acid reflux (Macgill,
2015). Eating too much food or eating certain types of

Emotional Analysis Of The Old Spice Scent Vacation...
We all know a person who looks very confident and put together on the outside, but a conversation
with them reveals that much is lacking in their personality. Similarly, commercials can appear fun or
exciting, but upon further inspection it is greatly lacking in depth. Because of this, creating
commercials is a balance between providing information and keeping the viewers engaged. The
process isn t simply writing a script containing only style and no substance, or one with only
substance and no style. With the former, a commercial could capture the audience s attention, but
provides no supporting information; the latter, provides an excessive amount of information, but does
not seize the viewers. Creating commercials pines for the utmost balance; if the balance is off by a
fraction, it could mean the difference between a million dollars or zero. The Old Spice Scent Vacation
commercial sits atop the pinnacle of this balance. It was made to advertise their new collection of
scents ranging from the scenic beaches of Fiji to the snowy peak of Denali (Mt. McKinley). The
commercial illustrates this balance through the use of emotional appeals, imagery, and appeals to
authority and credibility to convince people of the outlandish benefits of switching to Old Spice, in
terms of confidence and sexual appeal.
Old Spice s use of appealing to certain emotions carries strong effects in this commercial. It evokes a
multitude of feelings, anywhere from anger to lust to joy. The commercial

Descriptive Essay About Bear Flag Cafe
The Bear Flag Cafe, located in Newport Beach, CA, is a family owned business growing and swelling
with people every day and hour of the week. Owner, Thos Carson, grew up on the Bear Flag boat
fishing with his brother and father. He loved working and learning how to evaluate the different types
of fish and figuring out which pieces are the best. He enjoyed the adventure involved with it and the
mixture of science and passion involved in the journey. The first restaurant was originally created with
the name Bear Flag, located at a small storage garage in Newport Beach during the year of 2007.
Every day it seemed to get more and more busy where lines would run out the door and around the
corner. Carson decided that the demand was in such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People come in from all around the country. A man from Maryland, a family from Texas, and a young
lady from Oregon stood behind me in line. The restaurant brings people together, promotes
community, and seems to be expanding in each person who walks through the door. It diffuses
different cultures and welcomes anyone from any back ground and religion. Great Location The Bear
Flag Cafe is located in three areas around So Cal: Newport Peninsula, Crystal Cove Peninsula, and
Huntington Beach. I evaluated the Cafe in Newport Peninsula where it is a quick walk to the beach. It
is surrounded by the water and a road leading to the city of Newport. It is near different small little
shops and other pubs. What made it such a positive experience for me was the walking distance from
our beach house to this restaurant. It took 4 minutes (a 0.6 mile walk) to walk from our house to its
location. You have a choice of either sitting inside or outside. It is perched in the corner near a busy
street. Normally, parking is an issue, but here there is a parking lot reserved only for Bear Flag Cafe
customers. The parking lot is directly next to the restaurant, so there is no walk. Inside it s spacious,
but during rush hours it gets very busy! I witnessed two families running for a single table, like two
dogs sprinting for a ball. Outside, there are tables in every direction with a fountain resting in the
center. It s a place where you and your

Technology A Disconnection
Opinion Piece Technology: A Disconnection Over the past few years, technology has become a
significant part of people s every day lives. It helps people connect with those far away, but in the
process, disconnects themselves from others close with them. Technology has helped improve the
lives of many people through transportation and more, but overall has torn us apart. The constant
usage of technology has people s eyes glued to a small screen; they often forget to communicate with
those around them. Cell phones have developed over the years to become not only a way to talk with
others, but to have forms of entertainment, social media, and other means of communication. Many
people today only rely on their phones or computers, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The urge to be connected has become more of an addiction than a form of convenient communication;
due to the amount of time people spend on technology. This causes a severe disconnection with others
around them. People spend more time looking at the perfect lives of other celebrities, that they forget
to enjoy what is around them. If people spend more time looking up from their screens, they could
make more friendships or companionships with other people. Imagine all the possible conversations
you missed because you were too busy talking to people through a screen, instead of those around
you. People often use their means of technology as a way to distract them or avoid talking to others.
Perhaps this is due to the social disconnect they have with others around them. If people spend less
time on technology, more connections with people would form. You would have more time to do
things you want to do, such as reading, exercise, or more. Instead of connecting with people through
technology, we should make connections with people close to us the top priority. After years of being
developed, technology specifically and computers have been used too much, that they cause a
disconnection instead of a connection. Technology has its benefits, but in many cases, it is often
unnecessary and a waste of time. People should spend less time connecting through technology, and
reconnect with those around

Marine Extract Molecules And Their Application Essay
Marine extract molecules and their application in inhibiting E.coli quorum sensing as a potential
antibacterial pharmaceutical
Abstract
Quorum sensing, or cell to cell communication, is an occurrence that is very widespread amongst
pathogenic bacteria which infect the human population. With increased development of bacterial
resistance against antibiotics, scientists have taken an anti bacterial approach to manipulate quorum
sensing and impede cell growth and communication. Quorum sensing can be seen in E.coli reporter
stains when applying N acyl homoserine, also known as AHL, which E.coli cannot otherwise produce.
This experiment makes E.coli ideal candidates for experimentation. The E.coli reporter strain has
fluorescence abilities which allows us to assess quorum sensing inhibitory activity. Understanding
quorum sensing is important in identifying and developing molecules that have the potential to block
bacterial biofilm.
Introduction
Quorum sensing is a system of communication which many bacteria use to convey messages amongst
each other. It is also a mechanism which regulates gene expression in said bacteria based on the
density of their population. Bacteria are capable of producing and releasing molecules called auto
inducers as a direct function of their cell density. These molecules can be used to regulate symbiosis,
motility, bacterial biofilm formation, the expression of virulent proteins and various other processes
(Bassler, 2001). This type of quorum sensing

Descriptive Essay About Life
The Transformation
Anywhere you go can create memories, but can also become a part of you in one way or another.
Some of those places may have had an impact on a person s life that changed him or her as a person.
For others, some places may have a special meaning, teaching, or maybe because the best memories
were made in that special place. For me, the best memories and the one place that I always remember
is Woodburn Oregon. This city has so many good, happy, and bad memories that I still remember.
These memories bring back my childhood and how my perspective of life changed. As a young child,
growing up in Woodburn Oregon during the summer, I learned to not only appreciate everything I
have, but to also work hard to be successful.
Woodburn is a very beautiful, happy, and peaceful city that is full of nature. The city is surrounded by
amazing trees, buildings, flowers, parks, and much more. The city also has great restaurants, theaters,
museums and arcades. Woodburn also has amazing views and has great agricultural lands filled with
flowers such as, colorful tulips, and roses. I remember going by a land filled with bright yellow and
red tulips. As I was passing by, I remember smelling the sweet smell of the flowers and the fresh air.
The cold winds would make the flowers move, letting the sweat fragrance out and making the air
smell good. Now everytime I see a tulip, it reminds me of the huge lands filled with tulips. Woodburn

There are two different types of competitive advantage: low cost and differentiation. We will develop
them in this part I.
But Firstly, we will start this part by talking about the importance of a deep analysis of the industry s
structure. A deep knowledge of the industry the company is in, is extremely important. The industry
structure is unique and varies from industry to industry of course. It will determine the level of
competitiveness and attraction of the industry. With the Five Forces model (Porter) and PESTEL
(Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, Legal) analysis, the organization will get
a better understanding of the market will allow you to know the requirements for the possible creation
of sustainable competitive advantages and take the right strategic decisions. According to Porter, to
create an efficient competitive strategy, it is important to understand the rules of competition that
determine market attractiveness.
In the five forces model by Porter, four forces will influence the fifth one (see the model on the right).
The bargaining power of suppliers, the bargaining power of customers, the threat of substitute
products and the threat of new entrants will influence the fifth force: the level of competition in the
industry (S.Clegg, C.Carter, M.Kornberger, amp; J.Scheitzer, 2011).

Myeloproliferative Neoplasms
Introduction
With current developments in science, devices and processes have been created to discover and treat
new illnesses. One type of these newly discovered illnesses is Myeloproliferative Neoplasms. These
are a form of cancer that is caused by the overproduction of red blood cells. The incidence of MPNs is
estimated at 6 10 per 100 000 individuals (Geyer Orazi, 2016). According to the National Institute of
Cancer (2017),these individuals suffer from sharp and excruciating pains in their bones and joints
Nonetheless, there are ongoing studies that have been and are being done to find the causes, long term
effects, and treatments for the illness (National Cancer Institute (n.d.), 2017).

Forms of MPNs, including polycythaemia vera can evolve into these forms of myelofibrosis (Tonkin
et al., 2012). But, with well managed essential thrombocythaemia, the life expectancy of a patient is

categorized by a proliferation of primarily granulocytic and megakaryocytic lineage cells with
reductions in erythroid precursors, which cause problems in the white blood cell functions and normal
clotting of blood (Geyer Orazi, 2016). According to Ye, Chen, Zheng, Zhu, Fu, and Huang (2017),
with one cycle of decitabine (a myelodysplastic treatment drug) the blasts in a patient s bone marrow
decreased to 0.5%. After ten cycles, the mutation in the JAK2 decreases from 60.63% (average

The Impact of Bioligical Weapons on Human and their...
How do biological weapons work and how do they affect humans/environment? A biological weapon
is a disease, bacteria, germs, or microorganisms. Although back in the day the very first biological
weapons were not bacteria or germs that were altered they were just contaminating the enemies
resources to weaken them and to make them more vulnerable.(More Facts About Biological Weapons)
These former forms of biological warfare were intended to just be a strategy to be able to win the war.
Later on the biological weapons evolved and they soon became plagues. One of these incidents was in
the 14th century plague pandemic were more than 25 million Europeans died. There was also an
incident were they used the dead bodies of soldiers that were infected and they catapulted them into
the enemy ranks, this was in Karolstein in 1422.(Biological Warfare and Bioterrorism) There is now a
Biological Weapons convention that bans the research and the use of biological weapons which
entered in force in 1975.(Crime of War) Biological Weapons are just a way to make the enemy suffer
and struggle during the war so that they could be weakened trying to worry about their problems.
What one of the most popular biological warfare agents that there is around is the agent called

Alina Tugend Multitasking Can Make You Lose Summary
Alina Tugend is a writer and columnist for the Business section of the New York Times. She has also
had articles featured in the Los Angeles Times, the Atlantic, and Family Circle. In two thousand and
eight, Tugend published an article in the New York Times titled, Multitasking Can Make You
Lose...Um...Focus. In this article, Tugend spends time talking about different types of research and
their impact on today s society to be able to multitask, when instead they should be focusing on one
single task at a time. She claims that after the nineteen nineties, we all multitask with no regards to
query. We allocate the majority of our time going back and forth between different tasks, and even
worse, multiple tasks at the same time. Tugend s article shows the reader that although multitasking

There is evidence that when we multitask, we tend to lose our focus on the tasks at hand, create more
unnecessary stress on ourselves, and we lose the ability to think properly as the result of a decline in
cognition. Although Tugend has a good case against multitasking by utilizing research as her basis,
she does contradict herself at times. Particularly when she talks about how people tend to go back and
forth from multiple tasks, and how it affects their thought processes and focus. Tugend says that these
people may think that they are handling all the tasks at the same time when in reality they are not.
However, she negates the following. Losing focus is contingent upon what the tasks might be. You
cannot say that multitasking loses focus in one sentence and then turn around and say it simply
depends on what the tasks are. When Tugend discusses the stress increase, she refers to a study where

shelf and the other 40 percent being deep permanent water (Bowler, 2010). The diel cycles record
numerous basic abiotic measurements, but the crucial aspects of this study are the dissolved oxygen

Characters of Sir Walter Elliot and Anne Elliot in Jane...
The Characters of Sir Walter Elliot and Anne Elliot in Persuasion
In Persuasion, by Jane Austen, there are many exceptional characters. Perhaps two of the most
memorable are Sir Walter Elliot, and his daughter, Anne Elliot. These characters are well shaped and
have something about them that transcends time and social class, enabling readers of the all ages, to
feel they have something in common with them.
Jane Austen has created a very silly, vain man with immense family pride in Sir Walter Elliot. Sir
Walter is extremely proud of his good looks, his family connections and above all, his baronetcy.
The reader is introduced to Sir Walter at the beginning of the novel. Immediately his family pride is
seen and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result of this, Sir Walter has very unusual opinions of people. Sir Walter s opinions of people
stem from: their personal appearance and their family connections. Because of his concern for
personal appearance, Sir Walter has a low opinion of anyone belonging to the navy, the reason being :
[it] cuts up a man s youth ... Admiral Baldwin s age.
He holds both Admiral and Mrs. Wallis in the highest regard, however, as they are both very
handsome. The reader is not impressed with Sir Walter s ideas.
Sir Walter is also impressed by people s family connections. He is eager to meet Lady Dalrymple, not
because she is family, but because she is a Viscountess. These opinions Sir Walter holds and his
reasons for acquainting himself with others very much emphasizes that Sir Walter is very conscious of
his baronetcy. His pride is also apparent, as he is condescending to people whom he sees as of lower
social class.
Austen further develops Sir Walter through the actions and dialogue of others. Through the characters
of Admiral Croft and Elizabeth Elliot, the reader s impression of Sir Walter is strengthened. Admiral
Croft remarks to Anne that Sir Walter must be rather a dressy man for his time of life and Elizabeth,
again to Anne, says:
One would imagine ...but he abominates them.
Sir Walter s extreme obsession with personal appearance is again emphasized, making him not well
liked.
Finally, Sir Walter s own dialogue condemns him further.

Individual Theme Exposition Essay
Innovation has become one of the most important issues in modern culture, these days not only in the
context of business and technology but also in environmental and climate changes. The changes in the
environment impacts economies, populations, governments and cultures at a local level (Woerd 2002).
Woerd (2002) also mentions that changes at a local level contribute to changes at a national and global
level. All organisations worldwide are suffering with the environmental impacts that are places on
them, and need to implement changes that are going to be achievable. The success of a business
depends on how well the process is managed (Linsu Kim amp; Richard R. Nelson 2000). In

No Treatment Or Vaccine For The Zika Virus
Currently there is no treatment or vaccine for the Zika virus but there are antibiotics available to treat
a range of bacterial infections. (WHO, 2016) The only way to prevent the dangerous complications is
to avoid contracting the virus. The main prevention is to avoid mosquito bites since it is mosquito
borne, especially for travelers. Some prevention methods include staying inside, wearing long sleeves
and using insecticide. Many countries in Latin America and the Caribbean where Zika has been
locally transmitted have restrictive abortion policies, and contraceptives in these areas are often hard
to obtain. (WHO, 2016) So the only way to prevent the virus would be to avoid mosquitoes.

Their results show that meteorological conditions are largely unsuitable for Aedes aegypt over the U.S

conditions where the mosquitoes can live year round. Meteorological conditions are more suitable for
Aedes aegypti across all fifty cities studied over the summer from July to September. Cities in
Southern Florida and Southern Texas indicate the highest mosquito abundances and a strong potential
for travel related viruses. Also higher poverty rates in cities along with the Mexico border may be
associated with factors that increase human exposure to Aedes aegypti. The researchers aim is to look
ahead at the summer months and help public health officials prepare for potential Zika outbreaks. The
virus is not yet circulating in the local mosquito population yet. (Monaghan et al., 2016). The only
cases are from travel and sexual transmission. According to the CDC (2016), For local transmission to

the highest levels of travel, the highest numbers of mosquitoes in peak summer months, and those that

Monkey Wrench Gang Summary Essay
The Monkey Wrench Gang
By Edward Abbey
I read The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey. The book is 421 pages, and was published by
Lippincott Williams amp;Wilkins in 1975. It is a fictional story about a group of four people who
meet, and all want the same thing. To stop development on America s southwest.
Edward Abbey s purpose in writing this book was to raise awareness about what is happening to, quite
literally, our back yard. This book takes place in the southern Utah and Arizona, and is told in 3rd
person, but not following any one specific character. It switches which character you are following
throughout the story. The main characters are George Hayduke, Bonnie Abbzug, Doc Sarvis, and
Seldom Seen Smith.

Hayduke used the winch on his Jeep to lower himself and his Truck off the overhanging cliff. Towards
the end of the book, Forest rangers arrest a sleepy Seldom Seen Smith because he stole some camper s
hamburger, and they thought he was Rudolf the Red. Next chapter, Hayduke was on a 500 foot cliff,
over a huge flood happening in the river below, and Love, as well as a bunch of police had him pinned
down. Hayduke hid out in a crevice for over 6 hours while Love and his men waited for him to
surrender, or shoot. Eventually they see what they think is Rudolf the Red emerging from the crevice
with a rifle and they all open fire. What they believe to be Rudolf is literally pushed of the edge with
the bullets and never found. In the last chapter, the rest of the gang is playing a poker game when Doc
Sarvis gets an unexpected visit from Hayduke, who somehow survived, and wants to finish their initial
job, destroying Glen Canyon dam.
I believe that Abbey did achieve his purpose with this writing. The book has so much emotion, and
detail about the beauty of this place that it s hard to think that he didn t. The book was very interesting,
as well as powerful. It was a difficult read at times, but it kept me interested and wanting to read. A
weakness of this book is that back grounds to some of the events were not explained fully. Some
strengths are that it s a very interesting and moving reading and

Douglas Fir Dominance Essay
Out of the three parameters we collected, dominance is the one that tells us which of the species is
currently the most influential in the community. The species with the highest relative dominance in
area one was the Douglas Fir (90.6%). This data tells you that the Douglas Fir is very versatile in the
way it helps the community. The Douglas Fir siphons all the nutrients to itself and provides shelter,
shade, and food for animals. It also forms mycorrhizal relationships, which helps nearby vegetation
grow. In Area 2, the species with the highest dominance value was the Oregon White Oak (70.6%).
Oregon White Oaks provide shelter, housing, and food to various animals as well. Diversity of birds is
often higher in Oregon White Oaks than in an adjacent coniferous forest. Using the dominance data, it

role , in area 1 the slope was facing north . In area 2, the slope was facing southwest which makes a
huge difference in the amount of light received by the plants in the areas. The slope that was facing
north generally gets less light in comparison to the southwest since it gets the bulk of the sun. This

Those who opposed Jackson made political cartoons that mocked him such as The Political Barbeque
and King Andrew the First. The Political Barbeque by Henry R. Jackson, insulted Jackson for his
vetoing of the charter for the Bank of the United States. Both Robinson and Saturday Night Live are
mocking political figures using humor and exaggeration. The Political Barbeque refers to the idea of
Jackson rejecting the Bank of the United States and the controversy surrounding Jackson s removal of
federal deposits. In reaction to this, Robinson created this political cartoon insulting Jackson by
placing his head on the body of pig. He also depicted Jackson roasting over the fires of public opinion
which conveyed the idea that the general public was against Jackson. In addition, the cartoon titled
King Andrew the First mimics Jackson by placing him in a king s outfit. The illustrator most likely
wanted to express that Jackson put himself in a high position, like a King, especially when he passed
the order in 1833 to remove federal deposits from the Bank of the United States. Political satire is
present in both Baldwin s impersonation of Trump on Saturday Night Live and in the cartoon s
portraying Andrew Jackson. Throughout history and today when controversy surrounds U.S.

For example, as mentioned before, a close friend name Yvonne died of colorectal cancer couple of

spending all her life savings, even though she had insurance, she had to listen to the physician telling

In this Interactive Oral Presentation (IOP) we discussed the cultural and contextual considerations of
Tartuffe, by Moliere. We discussed this in the context of Politics and the King. The King at the time
was Louis XIV and the major political power was the Catholic church. In discussing this IOP we
learned that although the King and the church agreed on many things, such as the role of women in
that century, they also disagreed on many others. When Tartuffe was written it had many characters
that displeased the Catholic church for varying reasons. Tartuffe, the priest, mainly upset the church in
the fact that although he represented the church, he was a corrupt man. The women of the book also

When a daughter was old enough though, the father s would search for an eligible suitor for her. That

J.M Coetzee s The Harms of Pornography
As the debate over pornography and its place in society grows hotter every day, several authors in
particular shed a new light on the subject. Both their intuition and insight involving their beliefs can
help the reader a great deal in seeing aspects of this debate that might have otherwise gone without the
consideration that they so deserve. I believe that pornography is not only okay, but is allowing our
country to take a step back and ask ourselves how far we are willing to go and what we are willing to
sacrifice in order to preserve free speech and our rights to personal choice. The argument over
pornography is not merely the debate over right or wrong, but also involves the theory ... Show more

Coetzee goes to great lengths to bring to light indescrepancies and unclarified ideas throughout
MacKinnon s article. One of Coetzee s most prominent points is that the differences between
obscenity and pornography go far beyond a difference in term based on either political or moral
argument.
While at times Coetzee seems to generally disagree with or at least greatly challenge MacKinnon s
ideas, there are times at which the two authors trains of thought almost seem to coincide. One such
issue would be that MacKinnon is not necessarily looking to hunt out all occurrences of pornography
in today s literature and media, but to snuff out the commercial end of it. The end that makes billions
based on women being used by men, and does nothing at all to improve their social standing in our
society. But why must everything be used to bolster the social position of women? It is this topic
specifically that seems to have gone un argued by Coetzee. Coetzee s stand on this issue of
pornography and obscenity as a part of today s culture is never quite addressed may very well remain
a mystery to the reader. From many of the author s statements and criticism s of MacKinnon, one
could gather that he takes a much more liberal stand and yet somehow successfully avoids pressing his
opinions. He also does a wonderful

During the same year as Franklin s discovery, Watson and Crick determined that the chemical rungs
that join the two helical strands are made up of two base pairs. The two base pairs are adenine (A)
thymine (T) or guanine (G) cytosine (C). They also realized that the order of those two chemical base
pairs that joined the two helical strands spelled out the genes and determined the variation of traits in
all living organisms. In addition to their already impressive discovery, they also realized that the two
helical strands could be separated for copying, which facilitated the passing on of genetic information
between each generation. A few years following this discovery by Watson and Crick, biochemists
Marshall Nirenberg and Har Gobind Khorana determined the reason for genetic mutations. They occur
when the sequence of the chemical bases on the DNA that determine the order of amino acids that link
to create a protein is incorrect. These mutations can cause all sorts of problems, such as diseases.
However, sometimes these mutations are beneficial and allow organisms to better adapt to their
environment.
By comparing good DNA with bad DNA, researchers hope to find out why people with the bad DNA
are the way they are (why do they have that disease?), improve methods of diagnosis in order to catch
the diseases earlier on, and improve treatment.
However, researchers weren t able to do that until recently. Various discoveries had to happen before

Reflection Paper On Robotics Team
Many students while they are in high school will participate in clubs and sports of all likes. I did

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dispute Resolution
CHAPTER II
ARBITRATION OF INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL DISPUTES
2.1 Introduction
?The realisation, in the words of Lord Simon of Glaisdale, that litigation, while certainly preferable to
personal violence is not in itself an intrinsically desirable activity, has encouraged the search for other
methods of dispute resolution each of which has attracted it adherents and enthusiasts. One of the
oldest and best established of these systems is that of arbitration.?[footnoteRef:1] [1: Galway City

There has been a wide range of debate to create a more expeditious dispute resolution method for
settling commercial disputes amongst businessmen and lawyers who are involved with international
trade across national borders.[footnoteRef:2] Until recently, commercial courts were congested due to
the number of commercial disputes pending before them. There was a need for other dispute
resolution methods to bridge this gap, expedite matters and to promote business transactions.
Arbitration, mediation and conciliation were adopted by states to supplement the normal court system.
However, we are yet to reach that point where one can boldly say that, the alternative dispute
resolution methods to the courts are expedient. [2: Herbert Buston, ?Arbitration of International

Gender Trouble Of Judith Butler
The book Gender Trouble of Judith Butler, distributed in 1990, required another method for taking a
gander at sex and sexual orientation. Instead of the settled manly/female sexual orientation binary,
Butler contended that gender ought to be seen as liquid (fluid), variable; the way we act at various
times and in various circumstances as opposed to who we are. Butler proposed that by deconstructing
the way we consider gender we may move towards another fairness where individuals are not
confined by manly or female sexual orientation parts. Like women s activists before her, Butler is
worried with achieving more prominent uniformity between men and women, yet her accentuation is
distinctive, just like her proposed method for activity. A number of Butler s contentions and thoughts
are fascinating and convincing however she additionally has pundits who see a few constraints with
her work.
Butler starts by taking a gander at the issues of characterizing woman . In the past woman s rights has
considered ladies to be its subjects for political representation. Butler, nonetheless, contends that we

An Artistic Representation of the Sixties Through Across The Universe
Many historical fiction films that we watch fail to depict history in an accurate way due to the
emphasis on entertainment and revenue instead of keeping the integrity of its historical events.
However, some motion pictures stay true to history while providing entertainment through fictional
stories. Although the stories are fictional, movie writers can craft stories that represent the history,
attitudes, and personalities of a time period in a historically accurate way. A prime example of a movie
that is entertaining and represents history accurately is Across The Universe, directed by Julie Taymor
in 2007. This film succeeds in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Prudence arrives through the bathroom window of Sadie s apartment, which is an
allusion to the song She Came Through The Bathroom Window , and Prudence s character is a direct
reflection of the song Dear Prudence . Characters names are off of song titles like Hey Jude , Lucy In
The Sky With Diamonds , and Maxwels Silver Spoon . These are prime examples how the Beatles
music influenced the portrayal of Taymor s characters, but also how the characters represent real
people. Not only does the music represent the characters, but also Taymor integrates the songs into
real historical events. For example, Jojo travels to New York from Detroit after his little brother was
killed in Detroit s 12th Street Riot. The 12th Street Riot was one of the worst riots in American
history; the governor sent the Michigan National Guard into Detroit, and President Johnson sent the
U.S Army to subdue the riot. The end result was forty three dead, 467 injured, over 7,200 arrests and
more than 2,000 buildings burned down. The scale of the riot eclipsed the 1992 riots in Los Angeles.
Through the portrayal of the riot the black community of the 12th street district sing Let It Be . I must
note that in analyzing music each song has different meanings interpretations to each person. However
after analyzing Let It Be , I have found the phrase let it be is about giving up your personal power to a
higher power, which is what the people in the riots and

The Ethical Issue And Unethical Issue
Lately, web theft or document sharing of copyrighted material has increased much prevalence. It is a
theme that has unendingly started level headed discussion and has even gotten worldwide
consideration. In spite of the fact that at first glance the demonstration of document sharing may
appear to be innocuous, it is a long way from it. Every year, film and record generation organizations
and in addition programming and computer game improvement organizations experience the ill effects
of billions of dollars in lost benefits. This misfortune comes as an immediate consequence of web
robbery. Numerous concur that document sharing is unscrupulous and consider it to be the same than
out and out robbery. Then again, there are those that bolster document sharing and case that their
activities are effortlessly supported and moral. This essay will give a brief review and history of
record sharing, it will consider the contentions of every side, define the deference between ethical
issue and unethical issue and lastly will offer my own perceptions and position on the issue.
Document sharing, put just, is the procedure of making accessible and dispersing records by means of
the web. Numerous uninhibitedly created applications have been made accessible that streamline this
procedure, giving the capacity to effectively hunt down, download, and transfer any bit of
computerized substance possible. These applications are generally alluded to as P2P or Peer to peer
applications as they

  • 2. John Piper Analysis John Piper gives several reasons for why we as Christians believe that the Son became human without ceasing to be God. The first is brought up in verse 14. It states that the Word dwelt among us. So if the Word is God, and the Word dwelt among us, the that means Christ was still one hundred percent God and also man. This is the reason shown in Matthew 1:23 when the angel states that the child born of a virgin s name will be called Immanuel, which means God with us. When the Word became flesh, it did not cease to be God, the Son s name means that God his here, dwelling among us. The second reason is also in verse 14. It states that We have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father. He goes on to specify what the meaning of as, actually is. Some try to say that as, refers to simply being like or similar to the Son of the Father. However, when it says as, it is saying that it really is the Son. What it means for us as Christians that the Word became flesh cannot be simply boiled down to one single reason. However, it begins with Philippians 2:5 7 when it says, Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count ... Apollo Victorious Over Python Analysis Final Paper For this research paper, I will compare and contrast Pietro Francavilla s sculpture of Apollo Victorious over Python from the Renaissances period to Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres s painting of Oedipus and the Sphinx from the Neo Classical period. The two pieces of work were both displayed at the Walters Art Musuem. Apollo Victorious over Python was displayed on the 2nd floor in the Sculpture Court, it was the open and spacious center room. Oedipus and the Sphinx was displayed on the 4th floor in the From Rye to Raphael, the Walters Story exhibition. I chose to compare these two works of art because out of all of the works I saw they both stood out to me the most. These two works are different, obviously because one is a sculpture ... • 4. Russian Duels In A Hero Of Our Time And Eugene Onegin Narrative Russian writers seem to enjoy inserting a duel in their literature. There s Pierre s duel with Dolohov in Tolstoy s War and Peace; there s Onegin s duel with Lensky in Pushkin s Eugene Onegin; there s Pechorin s duel with Grushnitsky in Lermontov s A Hero of Our Time, and Bazarov duel with Pavel in Turgenev s Fathers and Sons. In this paper, however, making comparisons between the duels from A Hero of Our Time and Eugene Onegin will be the primary focus. When it comes to deciding if dueling was a noble form of conflict resolution, both writers seem to indirectly portray to the reader that duels are unimpressive and ineffective. Both writers emphasize on the challenges that could happen before, during, and after a Russian duel. If the writers wanted to portray to the readers that duels were honorable, then they would have not displayed the challenges that each character faced while they participated in the duel. A similarity between the two duels of A Hero of Our Time and Eugene Onegin is who ultimately ends up being killed. Both Lermontov and Onegin kill a character that was foolish, and who, perhaps, should not have died. In A Hero of Our Time, Grushnitsky foolishly challenges Pechorin after mistakenly assuming that Pechorin snuck into Princess Mary s residence to see her when she was home alone. However, Pechorin had actually snuck into the residence to see Vera, but Grushnitsky, blinded by jealousy, does not realize the truth. During the duel, Pechorin gains ... • 5. Digestive Diseases And The Digestive Tract Digestive diseases are disorders of the digestive tract, which is sometimes called the gastrointestinal (GI) tract (Eisner, 2014). The gastrointestinal (GI) tract is a flexible muscular tube that extends from the mouth, through the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum to the anus (Whitney Rolfes, 2012). During digestion, the body breaks down foods into nutrients to prepare for absorption. During absorption, the cells of the small intestine take the nutrients and send them to the blood or lymph cells (Whitney Rolfes, 2012). After absorption, the body uses the nutrients for energy and building blocks for the cells. The digestive tract consists of: the esophagus, stomach, large intestine, small intestine, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some experience mild symptoms only happening occasionally after eating a certain food but many struggle with severe symptoms on a daily basis, leading them to consume large amounts of antacids to try and get relief. Acid reflux is very common. The American College of Gastroenterology says that over 60 million Americans experience heartburn at least once a month and at least 15 million as often as daily (MacGill, 2015). Acid reflux occurs when some of the acid content of the stomach flows back up into the esophagus. The stomach contains hydrochloric acid, which is there to help aid in digestion and to protect against harmful bacteria. The gastroesophageal sphincter protects the esophagus from the acid in the stomach by acting as a valve and not letting the acid back up into the esophagus. At times, the valve can fail and it allows the acid to back up into the esophagus, thus creating the sensation of heartburn (MacGill, 2015). There can be many different causes to acid reflux occurring. Having a hiatal hernia (a hole in the diaphragm which allows the upper stomach to enter the chest cavity) can be a factor. Pregnancy can cause acid reflux due to the pressure being placed on internal organs. Lifestyle choices including: obesity; smoking; lack of exercise; and high salt intake can all contribute to acid reflux (Macgill, 2015). Eating too much food or eating certain types of ... • 6. Emotional Analysis Of The Old Spice Scent Vacation... We all know a person who looks very confident and put together on the outside, but a conversation with them reveals that much is lacking in their personality. Similarly, commercials can appear fun or exciting, but upon further inspection it is greatly lacking in depth. Because of this, creating commercials is a balance between providing information and keeping the viewers engaged. The process isn t simply writing a script containing only style and no substance, or one with only substance and no style. With the former, a commercial could capture the audience s attention, but provides no supporting information; the latter, provides an excessive amount of information, but does not seize the viewers. Creating commercials pines for the utmost balance; if the balance is off by a fraction, it could mean the difference between a million dollars or zero. The Old Spice Scent Vacation commercial sits atop the pinnacle of this balance. It was made to advertise their new collection of scents ranging from the scenic beaches of Fiji to the snowy peak of Denali (Mt. McKinley). The commercial illustrates this balance through the use of emotional appeals, imagery, and appeals to authority and credibility to convince people of the outlandish benefits of switching to Old Spice, in terms of confidence and sexual appeal. Old Spice s use of appealing to certain emotions carries strong effects in this commercial. It evokes a multitude of feelings, anywhere from anger to lust to joy. The commercial ... Great Location The Bear Flag Cafe is located in three areas around So Cal: Newport Peninsula, Crystal Cove Peninsula, and Huntington Beach. I evaluated the Cafe in Newport Peninsula where it is a quick walk to the beach. It is surrounded by the water and a road leading to the city of Newport. • 9. Technology A Disconnection Opinion Piece Technology: A Disconnection Over the past few years, technology has become a significant part of people s every day lives. It helps people connect with those far away, but in the process, disconnects themselves from others close with them. Technology has helped improve the lives of many people through transportation and more, but overall has torn us apart. The constant usage of technology has people s eyes glued to a small screen; they often forget to communicate with those around them. Cell phones have developed over the years to become not only a way to talk with others, but to have forms of entertainment, social media, and other means of communication. Many people today only rely on their phones or computers, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The urge to be connected has become more of an addiction than a form of convenient communication; due to the amount of time people spend on technology. This causes a severe disconnection with others around them. People spend more time looking at the perfect lives of other celebrities, that they forget to enjoy what is around them. If people spend more time looking up from their screens, they could make more friendships or companionships with other people. Imagine all the possible conversations you missed because you were too busy talking to people through a screen, instead of those around you. People often use their means of technology as a way to distract them or avoid talking to others. Perhaps this is due to the social disconnect they have with others around them. If people spend less time on technology, more connections with people would form. You would have more time to do things you want to do, such as reading, exercise, or more. Instead of connecting with people through technology, we should make connections with people close to us the top priority. After years of being developed, technology specifically and computers have been used too much, that they cause a disconnection instead of a connection. Technology has its benefits, but in many cases, it is often unnecessary and a waste of time. People should spend less time connecting through technology, and reconnect with those around ... • 15. Marine Extract Molecules And Their Application Essay Marine extract molecules and their application in inhibiting E.coli quorum sensing as a potential antibacterial pharmaceutical Abstract Quorum sensing, or cell to cell communication, is an occurrence that is very widespread amongst pathogenic bacteria which infect the human population. With increased development of bacterial resistance against antibiotics, scientists have taken an anti bacterial approach to manipulate quorum sensing and impede cell growth and communication. Quorum sensing can be seen in E.coli reporter stains when applying N acyl homoserine, also known as AHL, which E.coli cannot otherwise produce. This experiment makes E.coli ideal candidates for experimentation. The E.coli reporter strain has fluorescence abilities which allows us to assess quorum sensing inhibitory activity. Understanding quorum sensing is important in identifying and developing molecules that have the potential to block bacterial biofilm. Introduction Quorum sensing is a system of communication which many bacteria use to convey messages amongst each other. It is also a mechanism which regulates gene expression in said bacteria based on the density of their population. Bacteria are capable of producing and releasing molecules called auto inducers as a direct function of their cell density. These molecules can be used to regulate symbiosis, motility, bacterial biofilm formation, the expression of virulent proteins and various other processes (Bassler, 2001). This type of quorum sensing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

J.M Coetzee s The Harms of Pornography J.M Coetzee s The Harms of Pornography As the debate over pornography and its place in society grows hotter every day, several authors in particular shed a new light on the subject. Both their intuition and insight involving their beliefs can help the reader a great deal in seeing aspects of this debate that might have otherwise gone without the consideration that they so deserve. I believe that pornography is not only okay, but is allowing our country to take a step back and ask ourselves how far we are willing to go and what we are willing to sacrifice in order to preserve free speech and our rights to personal choice. The argument over pornography is not merely the debate over right or wrong, but also involves the theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Coetzee goes to great lengths to bring to light indescrepancies and unclarified ideas throughout MacKinnon s article. One of Coetzee s most prominent points is that the differences between obscenity and pornography go far beyond a difference in term based on either political or moral argument. While at times Coetzee seems to generally disagree with or at least greatly challenge MacKinnon s ideas, there are times at which the two authors trains of thought almost seem to coincide. One such issue would be that MacKinnon is not necessarily looking to hunt out all occurrences of pornography in today s literature and media, but to snuff out the commercial end of it. The end that makes billions based on women being used by men, and does nothing at all to improve their social standing in our society. But why must everything be used to bolster the social position of women? It is this topic specifically that seems to have gone un argued by Coetzee. Coetzee s stand on this issue of pornography and obscenity as a part of today s culture is never quite addressed may very well remain a mystery to the reader. From many of the author s statements and criticism s of MacKinnon, one could gather that he takes a much more liberal stand and yet somehow successfully avoids pressing his opinions. He also does a wonderful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. An Explanation Of Individualized Medicine The paper begins with the story of a five year old boy, a five year old boy who is barely clinging to life. He is so malnourished that he looks half his age. After a plethora of operations, examinations, and hospitalizations, doctors still had no idea what was wrong with him, that is, until geneticist Elizabeth Worthey began studying his DNA. Worthey began with the conventional and finished with the unconventional. In order to discover what was wrong with the boy, Worthey mapped out the genes that determine the protein his cells make. This essentially allowed her to pinpoint the mutation that was causing the boy s medical problems. This is one of the first examples of individualized medicine, which uses the genome of the patient to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the same year as Franklin s discovery, Watson and Crick determined that the chemical rungs that join the two helical strands are made up of two base pairs. The two base pairs are adenine (A) thymine (T) or guanine (G) cytosine (C). They also realized that the order of those two chemical base pairs that joined the two helical strands spelled out the genes and determined the variation of traits in all living organisms. In addition to their already impressive discovery, they also realized that the two helical strands could be separated for copying, which facilitated the passing on of genetic information between each generation. A few years following this discovery by Watson and Crick, biochemists Marshall Nirenberg and Har Gobind Khorana determined the reason for genetic mutations. They occur when the sequence of the chemical bases on the DNA that determine the order of amino acids that link to create a protein is incorrect. These mutations can cause all sorts of problems, such as diseases. However, sometimes these mutations are beneficial and allow organisms to better adapt to their environment. By comparing good DNA with bad DNA, researchers hope to find out why people with the bad DNA are the way they are (why do they have that disease?), improve methods of diagnosis in order to catch the diseases earlier on, and improve treatment. However, researchers weren t able to do that until recently. Various discoveries had to happen before ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Reflection Paper On Robotics Team Many students while they are in high school will participate in clubs and sports of all likes. I did something a little different than track or chess club. I helped design, build, and showcase robots. We aren t talking about a some desktop toy or tiny remote control car, what I helped create was an over one hundred pounds of beastly machinery. There is one very important fact that makes this a lot more difficult than it already sounds, we only had 6 weeks to build it. All of this during after school hours and on weekends. Now balancing all of stress of robotics, school, and life is not the easiest task. The events of my senior year robotics season may have been the most stressful few months of my life, but the day that set off the season would become the day I will remember most of all. Our robotics team was called Team SCREAM, our designation number was 4522. My senior year and last year on the team was one of the roughest for all involved. The leaders of our team were a little worried about this year since we were now leading the team, it would fall on us whether or not we succeeded or failed. Our leadership personal was very few in members to lead the sub teams. We had two experienced programmers, three extremely competent mechanical team members, a great strategy team lead by one very determined person, and then our public relations team, of which I can say did their job admirably. We had many mentors to assist us from the community that had our backs every step of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In contrast, the 1983 Scarface s main character is a Cuban refugee named Tony Montana who is based out of Miami. Tony Montana is desperately trying to make it to the top and he won t stop at anything to get there. Due to being fifty years apart, another big difference is in the original tony is involved with bootlegging and selling beer. Where as, tony in the remake is dealing cocaine. The first part begins with the narrator, Molloy, who is being driven to write for an unknown reason and by an unknown person. At the end of the first paragraph, Molloy says: Here is my beginning (Beckett 8). Molloy s account of what happens isn t organized as a narrative; in a way; Molloy is Beckett s portrait of what would happen if someone who didn t tell stories was compelled to tell one. He begins not even with the pseudo quest of going to see his mother but with some observations of two people, A and C. From there, he tells of the pleasures of being on his bicycle, which he says he will not call a bike. It is after these accounts that he reveals a fraught relationship with his mother; ... Personally, I found the novel to have many depressing and unfortunate events, but someone else may have thought of these events differently. Molloy is definitely one of those novels that can have different meaning depending on who s reading it. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dispute Resolution CHAPTER II ARBITRATION OF INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL DISPUTES 2.1 Introduction ?The realisation, in the words of Lord Simon of Glaisdale, that litigation, while certainly preferable to personal violence is not in itself an intrinsically desirable activity, has encouraged the search for other methods of dispute resolution each of which has attracted it adherents and enthusiasts. One of the oldest and best established of these systems is that of arbitration.?[footnoteRef:1] [1: Galway City Council v Samuel Kingston Construction Ltd [2010] 3 IR 95. O?Donnell J] There has been a wide range of debate to create a more expeditious dispute resolution method for settling commercial disputes amongst businessmen and lawyers who are involved with international trade across national borders.[footnoteRef:2] Until recently, commercial courts were congested due to the number of commercial disputes pending before them. There was a need for other dispute resolution methods to bridge this gap, expedite matters and to promote business transactions. Arbitration, mediation and conciliation were adopted by states to supplement the normal court system. However, we are yet to reach that point where one can boldly say that, the alternative dispute resolution methods to the courts are expedient. • 43. Gender Trouble Of Judith Butler The book Gender Trouble of Judith Butler, distributed in 1990, required another method for taking a gander at sex and sexual orientation. Instead of the settled manly/female sexual orientation binary, Butler contended that gender ought to be seen as liquid (fluid), variable; the way we act at various times and in various circumstances as opposed to who we are. Butler proposed that by deconstructing the way we consider gender we may move towards another fairness where individuals are not confined by manly or female sexual orientation parts. Like women s activists before her, Butler is worried with achieving more prominent uniformity between men and women, yet her accentuation is distinctive, just like her proposed method for activity. A number of Butler s contentions and thoughts are fascinating and convincing however she additionally has pundits who see a few constraints with her work. Butler starts by taking a gander at the issues of characterizing woman . In the past woman s rights has considered ladies to be its subjects for political representation. Butler, nonetheless, contends that we can t consider women to be a bound together homogenous gathering subsequent to each woman is a one of a kind person. John Stuart May 14, 2010 An Artistic Representation of the Sixties Through Across The Universe Many historical fiction films that we watch fail to depict history in an accurate way due to the emphasis on entertainment and revenue instead of keeping the integrity of its historical events. However, some motion pictures stay true to history while providing entertainment through fictional stories. Although the stories are fictional, movie writers can craft stories that represent the history, attitudes, and personalities of a time period in a historically accurate way. A prime example of a movie that is entertaining and represents history accurately is Across The Universe, directed by Julie Taymor in 2007. This film succeeds in ... These are prime examples how the Beatles music influenced the portrayal of Taymor s characters, but also how the characters represent real people. Not only does the music represent the characters, but also Taymor integrates the songs into real historical events. For example, Jojo travels to New York from Detroit after his little brother was killed in Detroit s 12th Street Riot. The 12th Street Riot was one of the worst riots in American history; the governor sent the Michigan National Guard into Detroit, and President Johnson sent the U.S Army to subdue the riot.
