• “Technology is the use of scientific knowledge for
practical purposes or applications, whether in industry
or in our everyday lives”(Study.com, n.d.).
• Technology can be digital and automotive as we all
assume, but this can also be any type of innovation or
method to improve production.

• Technology has had a major impact on society. Technology has
evolved in forms of technological advances such as smartphones and
laptops. Technology has also evolved in the form of transportation
and communication among many more.

• Technology has turned us into a marketing tool. Technology mainly in
the form of social media has caused this revolution. Social media has
provided the ability for consumers to communicate with consumers
and for consumers to quickly communicate with potential consumers.

their own profile.
• Facebook allows for personal and company profiles.
• Individuals on Facebook have the opportunity to like and share pages
and posts that they like, this allows their friends to see what they are

• Instagram is an online application that connects individuals through
images and videos.
• Much like Facebook, Instagram allows individuals to follow and like
certain posts and pages they are interested in. This allows people and
companies to promote their products and gives individuals the
opportunity to share videos to promote certain products.

• Consumers will post new products for their customers to view, these
consumers will now have the ability to comment, like and share these
posts to the world. This form of marketing is the most impactful and

ourselves without realizing exactly what we are doing. Everyone on
Facebook is promoting themselves to their peers when they post
pictures, their trips and relationship statuses. We may not be
marketing for business income but we are marking for likes,
comments and an increased social life.

the entertainment industry, mainly professional sports. This happens
in many different ways such as posting sports scores, purchasing fan
gear and sharing it to the world. This type of marketing has changed
drastically with social media on Facebook, Instagram and twitter. In
this industry, we are also promoting ourselves as a fan of a specific
team or sport, as well as promoting the sport and team to influence
others to purchase inventory. This personal marketing allows this
industry to have their product promoted without paying for their own
advertisement.

• In conclusion, technological advances have turned as into a marketing
tool. We mainly use social media to promote products we enjoy and
influence our friends to purchase the same products.
• We also promote ourselves to our peers, as marketing is not limited
to a product we can purchase. We can also be the product that is
being promoted.
• The evolution of technology has evolved into a much easier method
of advertisement for corporations and small businesses as their
customers will promote their products free of charge.
