Introduction
In this investigation, I will be investigating the changes along the long profile of a river. In order to do
this, I will be collecting data and making observations at three different points along the river; the
upper course, the middle course, and the lower course.
The river which I will be conducting my observations would be on Bartley Water. Bartley Water is a
river going through the New Forest which is located in the south of the UK, Hampshire. The source of
the river begins from Bartley, 109m above sea level, and joins to its end at Eling, flowing into
Southampton Water. The river has a length of 27km and a catchment area of 40sqkm. It is a tributary
of the River Test. The river bed contains of a mixture of sand, silt and clay which can change as the
river behaves due to erosion, transportation and deposition.
The sites which I will be investigating on are:

Site two is at Woodlands, grid reference: 325006
Site three is at Eling, grid reference: 362124
The surroundings of these areas differ at each site. Site one is mostly rural areas whereas, when it

some of the harsh realities in the world. Everyone in the class was either assigned to be pro FGC or

that side, and everyone watched the same documentary on a journey of a young woman in Africa
leading up to her coming of age ceremony involving genital cutting. Throughout the video, you can

I was perplexed and concerned when I realized that over the span of about three years my mother had
kept to herself information about her developing anemia, kidney problems due to past kidney stones,
chronic back pain, and now arthritic nodes on her fingers. These are some of the symptoms that I see,

What is assisted suicide? By definition, assisted suicide is suicide committed with the assistance of
another person, usually a physician. This definition has changed slightly from the past. Assisted
suicide used to be defined more as when a terminally ill patient would be assisted in their death by a
doctor or physician. To some, it is a way to end the pain and suffering of a terminally ill loved one. To
others, assisted suicide is considered killing people without giving them a chance. People also believe
that assisted suicide, euthanasia, and hospice care are all the same thing. Assisted suicide is a
worldwide controversy and has been for many years. Questions of morals and ethics come into play
heavily when discussing whether assisted suicide should be legal or not. Assisted suicide is legal in
only five states in the United States. Oregon being the first of those states, legalized assisted suicide
back in the 1990s. Canada on the other hand, only has assisted suicide legalized in one Province. That
province is Quebec and their definition of assisted suicide leans closer to being euthanasia which
causes more controversy to whether assisted suicide should be legal in Canada. Other countries have a
much more strict outlook on the issue. There are many positive uses for what is called assisted suicide

On April 20, 1989 Trisha Meili was sexually assaulted, beaten, and left for dead in Central Park. Meili
had been jogging through Central Park around 10:30 p.m. when she was attacked. The attack resulted
in Meili slipping into a coma that caused her to have no memory of the assault. She went on to make a
full recovery from the assault. Within days of the attack, five teens were taken into custody. Antron
