Galileo was the Greatest Innovator and Scientific Mind of...
I decided to stand alone on the throne of the world, because I believe all good philosophers fly alone
like eagles. (Axelrod 9 ) . Galileo is one of the greatest scientific minds and innovators of his time.
Many questioned his methods of discovery, reasons for why something was happening in experiments
he conducted. Galileo s reasoning is the focal point to his research and helps with the idea of
understanding how he thought. Galileo s inventions were the most innovative and advanced in his
field at the time. Most importantly Galileo was just trying to find truth , Galileo was honest when he
said that if the bible seemed to say something different from what science said, then one had just
misinterpreted the bible ,(Axelrod 8 ). Provided the research and experiments Galileo had done his
theories and ideas are correct for his time. As a scientist, Galileo experimented with many theories on
how the universe was structured and found the copernican theory to be the most sensible but had
trouble proving his system to be true. Galileo s commitment to explanation as the basis for
justification for his research is stronger than most of his other methods for explaining the environment
around him.
How Galileo found his truths are thorough his research. Galileo started to reason the tides and the flow
of the waves of the ocean,How the waves relate to the motion of the earth and it s motion in relation to
Copernican theory of the universe the timing and magnitude of specific

Camille A Brown Essay
Camille A. Brown is famously known as a dancer, a choreographer, a dance educator, and a director.
She founded Camille A. Brown Dancers in 2006, and she also choreographed so many pieces for
many remarkable companies and Broadway shows. Moreover, she gives lectures to audience at many
universities, such as such as Long Island University, Barnard College and ACDFA (University of
Akron), because she believes through education, the next contributor to the dance field may appear
among those audiences. From 2006 to 2017, she had won 24 awards, such as four Princess Grace
Award, Doris Duke Performing Artist Award, and a Bessie Award. All those facts have shown that she
is not only an outstanding artist in the dance field in recent years, but she also uses her works to show
the world the qualities she deserves as a dancer. When she was young, Brown got her training at The
Bernice Johnson Dance Center and The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning, I did not feel that her suite was special. However, with dance and music, I
discovered that her style of dress was an integral part of this dance. From her dance steps, I felt that
she was not express herself in her performance. She also tried to evocative the side that a woman
supposed to have. What she shows may be one person, perhaps more than one person, or perhaps the
same person with various faces. Most of her face was covered by a hat. I think she may believe that
without facial expression and eye contact interference, the information conveyed through the body
movements is the purest and the most powerful. Significantly, the voices of Betty Carter and Ella
Fitzgeral made her dance more vivid and flexible. Along with music, every step of her dance looks
like a mechanical stiffness, but the overall situation is like fluid flowing, making people feel vitality
and energy. I think maybe she sets the bar too high for other

Theories Of Biological Determinism
The first theories to explain criminality said that society could tell that certain people were criminals
because of how they looked. There are quite a few theories that talk about determining criminals by
how they look. One example is biological determinism. Biological determinism said that criminals
were born and that criminologists could determine the crime that these criminals would commit based
off of their body type. For example, phrenology studied the bumps on people s heads. Franz Joseph
Gall theorized that certain areas of the brain controlled certain behaviors and traits (Grau). The areas
that were larger were considered to be more important so these areas could be felt by phrenologists to
find the dominant traits of the brain. There was also the somatotype school that said body build and
behavior were related. There are three body types that were brought to the United States by William
Sheldon. These types were endomorph, mesomorph, and ectomorph. Endomorphs committed fraud,
mesomorphs committed violent offenses, and ectomorphs were thieves and swindlers. ... Show more

Charles Goring found that most criminals were abnormally low in intelligence and believed that this
was hereditary. Henry Goddard also believed that there was a connection between criminals and their
intelligence level. Goddard conducted tests at the Vineland Training School for Feebleminded Boys
and Girls in New Jersey and found that the cutoff for normal intelligence was the mental age of 13
(Grau). An example of a hereditary theory is the XYY syndrome. This is when males were an extra Y
chromosome. During a study researchers found that inmates with the extra Y chromosome were taller,
more aggressive, and more violent (Adler 83). This theory has since been disproved because not all
criminals had this

United Nations Security Council Pros And Cons
Chapter 1 : INTRODUCTION
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the principal organs of the United Nations.
According to article 24 of the UN Charter, the foundational treaty of the United Nations, the UN
Member States have conferred the primary responsibility of maintenance of international peace and
security to the Security Council and have agreed that this body, in order to carry on this duty, acts on
their behalf. The Member States have agreed to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security
Council through article 25 of the Charter.4 While other organs of the United Nations can only make
recommendations to governments, the UNSC is the only organ capable of issuing resolutions that are
legally binding on all Member States. Its main responsibility is maintaining international peace and
security and when faced with a conflict .
Even if the Security General is the one who appoints Special Representatives they have a huge say in
sending task forces and such conflict resolution measures. The Council s other responsibilities include
recommending the admission of new members and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Germany, emerging powers like India and Brazil, and all of Africa and Latin America. Enlargement
proponents warn that the UNSC s global authority will erode if it fails to expand membership from
underrepresented regions. The structure of the Council is undemocratic especially because it gives
considerable power and privileges to certain countries of the world. The main example is the veto
power of the Permanent Five. As Robert Hill, former Australian ambassador to the United Nations,

Fear In The Things They Carried, By Tim O Brien
The Things They Carried, by Tim O Brien is a story of a group of soldiers going through Vietnam
during the war. It describes the mental burdens outweigh the physical agony that soldiers in war must
carry. Depends on each soldier, they carry both tangible and intangible items. O Brien argues that
uncertainty, responsibility, and fear that soldiers experience much outweigh the physical torture that
they had to endure to keep them alive, burdens eased only slightly after the hope of returning home.
The mental strain that probably weighs most on the mind of people is fear. This fear emanates from
many sources. The men are perpetually haunted by the fear that they may die. Lavender death and
how people react to it shows its effect on the soldiers. Kiowa express the feeling of weigh that the
threat of death has on men, when he described Lavender s death: Boom down, he said. Like cement .
Lavender s death is described as being akin to stone, something massive and heftily ponderous. The
death of Lavender is reiterated an abundance of times throughout the story. The repetition is utilized in
order to show the fear in the men. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Lavender s death. In the cessation, Cross burns the letters and photographs that Martha has sent him.
This is his endeavor to burn the blame, but Cross learns that it was infeasible. He must ignore about
Martha and integrate the full responsibility for all of his men onto his head for being a leader. While
Cross is troubled with responsibility for his men, his men are encumbered mentally by uncertainty.

Persuasive Essay On Zoos
Introductory paragraph:
Introductory paragraph: Did you know that zoos kill 5000 healthy animals a year in Europe its self.
Society today has made it their utmost priority to entertain the crowd that even torturing animals,
snatching them away from their families, and forgetting about their feelings means nothing. Zoos do
not give the warm and comforting environment that animals once used to have. These animals feel
depressed, miserable, and tortured, but are forced to pretend to smile and play in front of the crowd.
Zoos should definitely not be perceived as a place for entertainment for the reason that they deprive
animals of natural habitat, harm animals mentally, and damage them physically. Zoos should be
forbidden as they bring a lot of life threatening harms to animals. ... Show more content on

The same study also found out that Tigers and lions have around 18,000 times less space in zoos than
they would in the wild and Polar bears have well over one million times less space.
Elaboration:
These animals are not experiencing the feeling of living in an open natural place, although zoos make
every effort to expand, it is still not enough to compare with the open vast wild where animals once
used to live. For example In the wild elephants walk about 30 miles a day in herds, in zoos they don t
get enough space for their 30 mile walks and only get a couple of other elephants to be with. This is
unnatural and unfair.
Evidence:
Zoo programs such as (AZA) and (SSP) help conserve endangered species; they capture the animals,
breed them, and then let them

Youth Offender Team Case Study
One of the organizations in the England and Wales juvenile justice system is the Youth Offender Team
(YOT) which was established to aid in the prevention of juveniles before they offend. The system is
designed to issue the juvenile with reprimands and warnings that is referred to as the Final Warning
Scheme (Evans Ragonese, 2007, p. 1). One of the primary purposes of the Youth Offender Team is to
review the juvenile s history and examine any offences that the juvenile has committed. Additionally
the team will then identify any behavioral issues that may have contributed to the juvenile s actions
and then recommend a course of action to the court system (Paylor, 2011, p. 222). These
recommendations involve various approaches which are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

management approach to follow or the possible sentencing requirement that should be recommended
to the court system (Paylor, 2011, p. 223). If the juvenile score is less than 25 the juvenile will
probation or community service with additional educational programs for them and their parents and
their interactions would only be limited to the Youth Offender Team. If the juvenile score is 25 to 41
they would be considered a higher risk and would be required to face a judge that will order
educational programs for them and their parents in addition to treatment programs that will educate
the juvenile with dependency issues. During this time the juvenile would be in contact with the Youth
Offender Team, judges, and other court officials that would be assigned to the proceedings. Finally, if
the juvenile scores a 42 or higher they would receive the same recommendations as the medium or
enhanced program except the judge may require that the juvenile be confined for a period of time

B-Complex Vitamin Group Lab Report
The B complex vitamin group is made up of a family of eight vitamins: thiamine (vitamin B1),
riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pyroxidine
(vitamin B6), folate (folic acid, vitamin B9), cobalamin
(vitamin B12), biotin and pantothenic acid (vitamin
B5). Although each of these has its own independent function, they work in synergy in many different
ways in the body, acting as co enzymes to help the body obtain energy from food, for example, or
supporting red blood cell formation.
This vital group of nutrients are water soluble, meaning that they dissolve in water. This results in
poor storage in the body and therefore a need to obtain a regular supply from our diet or supplement.
The water soluble status of B vitamins also means that they are easily destroyed or washed out during
food storage or preparation. Proper storage and preparation of food can minimise vitamin loss so you
should always refrigerate fresh produce, keep milk and grains away from strong light, and use cooking
water from vegetables to prepare soups.
Here is a closer look at each one....
THIAMIN (vitamin B1)
WHAT DOES IT DO? This useful vitamin helps to release energy from food, promotes muscle
function (especially in the heart), red blood cell and amino acid production, looks after the
maintenance of the nervous system and supports digestion.
WHERE IS IT FOUND? In whole grains, oats, red meat, seafood, nuts, pulses and yeast.
WHAT IF WE DON T GET ENOUGH? A deficiency in beneficial bacteria can reduce the body s own
production of B vitamins, while medication and alcohol consumption can both increase the demand
and excretion of thiamin. Thiamin is easily lost through food processing.
NATURAL HEALTH 73 natural EAT
In the second part of a new series looking at key vitamins and minerals, nutritional therapist
Henrietta Norton explores the importance of the B vitamin group
RIBOFLAVIN (vitamin B2)
WHAT DOES IT DO? Like thiamin, this helps to release energy from food, but it also supports mucus
membranes (including those in the eye), assists in neurological health, promotes skin and hair strength
(as it acts as an antioxidant) and supports the immune system and the production of antibodies.
WHERE IS IT FOUND? In wholegrains, eggs, dairy

Iphigenia And Benazir Bhutto And Greek Mythology
Greek mythology and its characters are often symbolic representations of people in reality. Such
symbolism continues to serve its purpose even today, seen through parallels between characters and
people, as well as stories and events. Such a parallel is present in comparing Iphigenia, a Greek
mythical character, to Benazir Bhutto, the first female Pakistani prime minister. Although, one is
mythical and the other, a historical figure, there are corresponding themes and parallels in their stories
and in the motivations behind their actions. Iphigenia was known for her bravery at Aulis where she
submitted herself for sacrifice for the good of Greece, in order to advance and glorify the nation. As
such, Benazir Bhutto was known for her bravery in Pakistan where she worked to advance and glorify
the nation, ultimately ending in her assassination. Though their stories are not identical, there are
many undeniable common themes and parallels present. Both the women were daughters to significant
political figures of the time, Iphigenia being the daughter of Agamemnon and Benazir Bhutto being
the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, a former Pakistani prime minister. Being the daughters of
significant political figures of the time placed both the females on the path to their eventual deaths and
the glory that accompanied their deaths. In addition, both Iphigenia and Benazir Bhutto were females
and undoubtedly, treated differently from the males of the time. Glory for either of them, being
females, was usually attained through motherhood, marriage, and other traditionally feminine roles.
This is, also, why Iphigenia mentions that her death will be what I ll be remembered by. Let that stand
for me in place of the children and the marriage (Iphegenia in Aulis line 1396). Both of them
attempted to hide from their fate. Iphigenia attempted to hide when the army was coming to take her
to sacrifice. Benazir Bhutto, also, hid by going into self imposed exile to Dubai in 1998. Both of the
women had many people wanting their death, and the people wanting their death in each story were
motivated by a vision they had for their nation, be it Greece or Pakistan. It is to be noted this parallel
has a minor split in that Iphigenia and

My Visit to Centennial Village Historical Site in Greeley
I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed visiting the Centennial Village historical site in
Greeley. I happened to visit this museum on the perfect day because there were children from different
schools dressed up and living how the people in Northern Colorado lived more than 100 years ago.
With the children all dressed up like people used to dress, and doing the chores that they used to take
on really made it the feel like I was back in time. I got to experience dozens of historical sites, live
animals, schools, and businesses that really helped me understand part of Northern Colorado s history.
One of my favorite parts about this museum was how we got to see all the different immigrants homes
that made this region so culturally diverse. If I were living in Colorado around these times I most
likely would be living in a Stone House because teachers typically lived in these types of houses.
These houses where located on Eagle s Nest Ranch right out of Greeley and were made up of stones.
These houses where primarily made up for ranchers and teachers. Another type of house is called the
Swedish American House, (STUGA) these homes tend to be a little nicer than the Stone houses and
reflect a blend of Old and New World Culture. These one room framed dwellings with a boxer roof
were typically houses for the Swedish immigrants. Another group that migrated to Northern Colorado
was the Spanish. They migrated to Weld County to take advantage of the jobs that were created

Human Rights Violations in China
Human rights violation in China
The People s Republic of China with a population 1.3 billion, is the third largest country in the world
and has a land size of 960,000 square kilometres. It is a rapidly growing economy, with living
standards being raised every year. However, human rights violations are still a part of daily life in
some part of China and can still be seen in the present time. The most controversial issues include
discrimination, right to live and not to be subject to torture, freedom of religion, opinion, to fair public
hearing, rights to family and the right of movement. (The Consulate General of The People s Republic

Rural workers who move to cities, seeking for employment opportunities, are captured and sent back
to their hometown, because the government thinks they are the source of crimes and that they should
be tracked down to maintain China s public image. All China Women foundation and constitutions
were launched to preserve and enforces rights of women and rural residents in political, economic,
culture and family life, though no improvement was done by the government.
The freedom of religion is also violated. This is evident when China prohibits all religious activities
outside establishments registered; only four religions which are Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity and
Islum, are permitted for people to practise and contents are monitored and sometimes modified. The
government has endeavoured to eliminate many types of new religious group, including Falun Gong.
Falun gong has been banned since 1999; security forces kidnap and arrest thousands of Falun Gong
leaders, approximately 3000 practitioners were tortured to death and 6000 was sent to prison(Human
rights watch, 2002), because it had been the most serious threat to the government since the 1989
Tiananmen student uprising. The governments do not approve of religious performance, so people
would not share ideas that are not beneficial to obedience under a communist regime.
There is also no freedom of speech in China. Authors of the criticizing articles about China were

Persuasive Essay On The Confederate Statue
The violence continues as statues keep coming down in America currently. My goal today is to explain
why the confederate statue should stay or should be taken down everywhere in the United States.
There is three Main points that I m going to states and defend in this Essay and tell you why I believe
in them and there purposes. First why we need to keep them and not take them down. Second they will
help educated the future people for the better. Last of all I think that we should keep the statues all the
way and this is why. Why should we keep the statues you may ask, well there is no right or wrong
answer for this topic but I will do my best to defend my point and belief of why these statues should
not be torn down. The biggest reason I don t want these statues torn down is that it s not just a big
piece of metal sitting there or a regular statue, these are statues that have history behind them over the
years on when the south fought the north for a big turn for American history. People think they are
racist or wrong, but really they show where we are from and what we are about. This Battle goes back
to a massive shooting in 2015, when Dylan Roof shot nine people in a dominant black church in
Charleston, SC. Thus starting of the Statues being taken down across America. How will this help the
future for the better If someone that doesn t know what s going to history wise will most likely go

Soraya s Moral Development
Soraya s Moral Development
Soraya Taheri is one of Khaled Hosseini s characters in The Kite Runner, who represents what a true
woman and wife should be like. She is an example of Kohlberg s classification of three levels of moral
development in humans. Even though there is not a lot of information in the novel given about Soraya,
her personality can be reviewed based on her behavior throughout the story.
The reader first meets with Soraya in chapter 11, when she is working at a flea market. Her obedience
to her father General Taheri can be referred to the Pre Conventional Morality, stage 1: Obedience and
Punishment Orientation. Because this stage involves fixed beliefs of a child that hisher authority is

Dressed in a stunning winecolored traditional Afghan dress with long sleeves and gold trimmings. She
kissed my father s hands. Sat beside me at last, her eyes downcast. (168 169)
Here, Soraya wears traditional Afghan dress and follows the rules accordingly. She sees this as more
than simple deal, since marriage in Afghanistan is an important event. Her good behaviour is visible
during the time she spends with Amir s father when he lies in bed, sick:
Soraya dedicated herself to taking care of my father. She made his toast and tea in the morning, and
helped him in and out of bed. She gave him his pain pills, washed his clothes, read him the
international section of the newspaper every afternoon, She cooked his favourite dish, potato shorwa,
though he could scarcely eat more than a few spoonfuls, and took him out every day for a brief walk
around the block. And when he became bedridden, she turned him on his side every hour so he
wouldn t get a bedsore. (172)
Soraya takes care of Amir s father, even though no one asked her to do this. According to Kohlberg,
person at this stage has good motives and interpersonal feelings, such as love, trust, empathy and
concern for others, which is exactly what Soraya shows in this passage. Another time when this level
is evident is when Soraya tells Amir how she taught an illiterate woman how to read and write:

Personal Narrative-A Humorous Journey
As I sit on the stage of the most prestigious music hall in the world, Carnegie Hall, with my cello in

When I was in the third grade, our districts high school orchestra teacher accompanied by a few high

year was the first year I could play in the orchestra. It never crossed my mind that I wanted to play in

The Responsibility Of Feeding The Family Members
during this period are as follows. 1. The responsibility of feeding the family members, especially
babies, and men weighs heavy and it is the responsibility of the women to arrange for a hearth and
collect food materials for the purpose. Many a time this exposes women to risks, eg. entering a semi
broken house to get the stored food, move through water to reach a low lying house and falling into
unseen breaches etc. 2. The responsibility of putting together a temporary shelter and moving out
whatever is left of the house to this is mainly done by women and there is significant addition of
workload in performing both the normal roles (cooking and feeding, child care, care of the livestock)
and added roles such as cleaning articles, maintaining the temporary shelter, safe guarding assets etc.
Many of these roles make women sedentary and in turn affect their role at community level. 3.
Clearing debris from the original house is undertaken once water recedes substantially and this is a
role, played most visibly by women. Injuries due to sharp objects like wood splinters, broken glass
and metal and bites from insects, and snakes are quite common and thus adding to the problem of
women. Prolonged exposure to wet soggy land results in various types of skin infections and other
diseases. 4. Once the relief initiatives start, either by Government or NGOs. Supplies of emergency
food materials, temporary shelters, clothing etc are provided. Many a time, the

1. INTRODUCTION
Arabic Language is the fourth largest language on the Internet, it comes after English, Chines and
Spanish. Arabic Internet users have grown rapidly, in the year of 2009 17% of Arabic speaker use the
Internet and at 2013 almost 36% of Arabic speakers use the Internet. Now, almost 135.6 million
Arabic users are on the Internet [1].
As the Web grows quickly and at the same time pages are disappearing the need for archiving is
becoming more important [3]. Web pages need to be preserved for the future cul tural data mining.
Archiving the Internet is becoming very important and several numbers of institutions have created
archives to preserve websites. However, to our knowledge we could not find any Arabic institute that
specializes in collecting and preserving Arabic web pages.
This growth in users of Arabic web pages requires some statistical overview of Arabic websites that
exist in the live web, how far do they exist, how much of it is archived and how well are they
archived. To answer those

The Between Public And Private Spaces
When looking at how online forums effects civility, Papacharisssi (2011) suggest viewing technology
as an architecture which blurs the line between public and private spaces. Online discussions merge
the social, cultural, political, and economical into merging yet fragmented spaces. With this
framework, the presents of civility or incivility should be viewed as a dependent of the context of the
topic and website (Coe et. al., 2014; Herbst, 2010). Reader (2012) argues that incivility may be a
reflection from the polarization of current media messages. He argues that, the rhetoric of the culture
war is often vitriolic and rancorous, what some scholars have dubbed to be incivility (p. 506). Others
have found that topics involving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christopherson (2006) compliments with his construct of anonymity as the inability of others to
identify an individual. Anonymity comes in multiple forms; a common one being pseudonymity.
When using a pseudonym, a person uses another name other than his or her own to associate with. It is
very common to see pseudonymity on the Internet, since websites rarely check for the true identity of
the individual users, and it is often beneficial to protect a user s privacy.
Studies generally confirm that anonymity emboldens incivility in CMC. Strom and Strom (2005)
found that when abusers lack face to face contact with those being persecuted, they may not know the
level of distress that their misconduct is causing. Furthermore, online anonymity makes misdeeds
difficult to trace, easy for cyberbullies to avoid responsibility for their misdeeds, and reduces fear of
being caught and punished.
Through interviewing people from various countries and socioeconomic levels, Kang, Brown, and
Kiesler (2013) found that about half of those they interviewed sought anonymity for malicious reasons
like hacking or socially undesirable activities such as flaming or browsing violent or pornographic
website.
Typically CMC civility studies have focused on websites with clear topical themes or articles such as
online newspapers (e.g. Coe et. al., 2014; Rowe, 2015; Santana, 2015) or discussion boards (e.g.
Lampe et. al., 2014; Papacharisssi, 2004). In contrast social

Child Hunger Thesis
Have you ever watched a child die of starvation? Let alone your own child?Well residents of Senegal
watch this horrific sight every day. Child hunger is a serious problem and not just in Senegal but all
around the world! About 3.1 million children die every year from starvation all around the world.
Senegal does not have enough food to properly feed their children in order to do this Senegal needs to
provide less expensive food. But to do that they must also find inexpensive ingredients. So that way
less children will be waking up and going to bed hungry.
Senegal is in Africa and borders New Guinea Bissau and Mauritania. The major ethnic groups in
Senegal are Wolof, Pulaar, Serer, Mandinka, Jola, and Soninke. The official languages of Senegal are
French, Wolof, Pulaar, Jola, and Mandinka. The main religions are 95.4% Muslim, 4.2% Christian and

The F Word By Marcus Schulzke Analysis
Summary Marcus Schulzke s article South Park and the Transformation of Meaning looks at a
particular episode, The F Word and explores its impact as well as its comment on society. Schulzke
begins by commenting on South Park s history of satire and by pointing out that the show s creators
generally avoid adamantly propagating the ideas on one side of an issue. He also makes a point that
the writers consistently favor gay rights and oppose censorship , so when the two issues come up in
one episode they will be sure to make a strong argument. The article then goes on to provide a
synopsis of the episode while simultaneously addressing the questions and moral dilemmas that the
content brings to the surface. Some of these include the process of changing the meaning of a word
and the language gap between children and adults. Since ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The gay rights group GLAAD argues the idea that the word remains a hateful slur, a conduit for
harassment and bullying. Schulzke calls this response a thoughtful objection raised by those with the
best perspectives of the word s effects. Although this is true, the word will never change its meaning if
society is afraid to use it in any other ways. The fear of the word itself is simply extra fuel that allows
it to survive as a hateful slur. It is entirely possible for the word faggot to change its meaning in the
near future, but it is also important to be aware of the population s current understanding. Finally,
satire can always be misconstrued, and those watching the show who may be young or naïve could
potentially misinterpret the show s overall message. They may think it is acceptable to use the word
faggot after watching the episode, even in circumstances where it could offend those around them. All
of these points must be taken into account when criticizing South Park s bold statement within The F

Niosh Equation Essay
The NIOSH equation has helped with predicting the risk of getting injured while lifting things. The
NIOSH equation helps determine what a weight should be for a lift for different tasks that people do
over there shift. The NIOSH equation is very important because back injuries are the most common
injury at work. The lower back area on people is the area where most people tend to hurt while lifting
items. The way the NIOSH equation works it helps determine a recommended weight for a specific
task (RWL) that a person would accomplish during their normal workday which consists to be an 8
hour work day. The NIOSH equation for RWL is determined by the equation RWL=LC x HM x VM x
DM x AM x FM x CM. The equation is based on six different areas. The six different acronyms mean:
LC = How much an object weighs, HM = the horizontal distance of a person s hands to what would be
the midpoint of their ankles, VM = is the distance between your hands to the floor when your hands
are vertical, DM = is the vertical distance between where the lift starts to the final placement of the
lift, AM = Angle of asymmetry, FM = Average rate of lifts done per minute and CM = is a ... Show

The second way would be that the LI is used to calculate roughly how much physical stress can be
expected from a job task and what the injury risks are for performing the job tasks with that lifting
procedure. The rule of thumb for again is that if the LI value is smaller a person performing the job
has a better chance of performing there tasks for their job safely without hurting there back. It s also a
good rule of thumb to compare at least two preferably more designs for the same task. The last way is
that the LI should be used to set priorities for tasks that need to be relooked at for better ways to lift
objects. The tasks should be rated and given a priority on how sever the task to help determine which
task should be looked at

Analysis Of Hiroshima By John Hersey
The book Hiroshima by John Hersey is, to me, one of the most captivating literary works to date. This
nonfictional book centers around the lives of six survivors two women, two doctors, a Reverend, and a
Father of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. Throughout the book, the author traces their lives
before, during, and after the massive bombing that killed nearly three fourths of Hiroshima s entire
population. The book s setting, Hiroshima bombing in 1945, is a significant element in the story as it
shapes the tone, mood, and vividness of the book, altogether making it a fascinating story. Moments
before the bombing, Hersey briefly describes what his six characters are doing. For one of the
characters, the author writes, Dr. Terufumi Sasaki, a young member of the surgical staff of the city s
large, modern Red Cross Hospital, walked along one of the hospital corridors with a blood specimen
for a Wassermann test in his hand... (Hersey 1). By simply giving a description of his character
moments before the bombing, Hersey gives his readers a picture of their lives and how their lives will
soon begin anew. Furthermore, by showing the normality of the character s current situation, he gives
the reader the idea that everything is just the way it is. With that mood set, the bombing will be an
unexpected event that causes shock to the reader, marking the story both intriguing and compelling. In
Hiroshima, there are certain areas where a reader will encounter a character in

A Possible Examination Done By Rhetoric Experts Essay
A Possible Examination Done By Rhetoric Experts On the morning of September 11, 2001, al Qaeda
terrorists carried out a set of coordinated suicide attacks with four hijacked passenger planes and killed
around 3,000 people on American soil. The first two planes hit the World Trade center and killed
everyone on board and hundreds inside the buildings. Following this attack, the nation was informed
by President Bush that these attacks were, apparent terrorist attacks on our country
(http://www.history.com/topics/9 11 timeline). The third hijacked plane soon crashed into the
Pentagon in Washington, D.C., killing multiple people aboard and 125 military and civilian personnel
inside the building. The fourth plane was deliberately crashed into a field in Somerset County,
Pennsylvania, taking the lives of all the people and the crew aboard after a few passengers tried to take
the plane back from the hijackers. With thousands of lives taken and the American people frightened
and needing answers, they expected someone to deliver a speech addressed to the nation to provide
some form of comfort and guidance. George W. Bush, as president, was the only logical rhetor to fill
that need, and nine days later on September 20, 2011; George W. Bush addressed the Nation in a Joint
Session of Congress in attempt to ease Americans concerning the terror attacks. As we examine
political speeches and analyze how rhetoric devices are used, we turn to experts William Lutz, Clyde
Miller, and Carol

Is Comedy Really Censored Essay
Comedy tends to be a very subjective thing, what you find funny another may not find all that
amusing. But one of the most important rights we have in our country is the freedom of speech. Which
lets whatever jokes be said no matter how funny or offensive someone may or may not find it. But in
recent years this previously seemingly untouchable area that is comedy has seen it self almost
censored. But should comedy be given a pass from the fervent pc culture of the 21st century?
Comedians have always been the naughty child of the entertainment industry. Having the edgy
opinions but still managing to not be chastised by their respective fans. Where back then comedians
only had one fear which was whether their audience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Comedy should not be restrained to rules that constrain what can be and what can t be said. Comedy is
supposed to consist of a observational and satirical ideas and jokes and with the reality of life these
jokes can be offensive to some. Although this also doesn t mean that someone being extremely crude
trying to offend minorities and such Is funny just for the sake of comedy. But instead of trying to get
rid of that type of Comedy people should talk with their wallet instead. If they don t like it they should
not endorse that person and move on with their lives. Although they might not like it their are others
that do. As with any opinion our country we are gifted with the freedom of speech we are allowed to
speak and have any opinion that we choose no matter how Controversial. But certain countries such as
Canada do not seem to share the same opinion as us. Where comedians have been fined for making
offensive jokes directed towards certain people. Such is the case of Mike Ward a Comedian fined $42k

Positive Impacts Of Peter The Great And Henry IV Of Russia
Some monarchs left their countries in better condition than when they began their rule, while others
left lasting damage. All of these monarchs used absolutism, but how they impacted their country
varied. Certain rulers did things to improve their countries they ruled and made a positive impact on
the people living there. For example, Henry IV made positive changes to France when he ruled, and
Peter the Great positively impacted Russia. However, some rulers made bad choices and made their
country worse. One example of this is Ivan IV of Russia, who is also known as Ivan the Terrible .
Although they believed in different things and ruled in different ways, they all made important
changes to the country they ruled. One monarch who made a positive impact on their country was
Henry IV of France. One example of how he positively changed France was issuing the Edict of
Nantes. The Edict of Nantes was a very important document at the time. It gave the Huguenots certain
rights that they previously did not have. The Huguenots were French Calvinist Protestants, and many
of the wealthy families were Huguenots. This originated from the Protestant Reformation and
spreading to France. The Huguenots were allowed freedom of religion (limited), the right to hold
office, and several other things. This change in France ended the idea of un roi, une loi, une foi ,
meaning one king, one law, one religion . Another way he made the country better was that he

Challenges Facing The Rural Lifestyle
Challenges Elderly Face Living in Rural Areas Social workers that practice in the rural environment

these characteristics of the rural lifestyle are people who are comfortable living in the low populated

Living in rural towns can be challenging for us elderly folks. In order for me to receive medical
attention, I would wait the next day to drive miles to see the doctor, Ms. Washington. Clearly the
deficiencies in the health care profession are a major issue for low class citizens, specifically the
elderly, living in rural areas that deserve attention. As a result, health care facilities and physicians in
rural areas go by the population with health benefits so they can assist the patient. Otherwise, if the
patient does not have health benefits would have to wait longer or seek medical support from a
distance. A study was conducted comparing the access and quality of health care in rural and urban
areas to see if both areas were equivalent to each other. The result showed a significant deficiency in
rural areas (Reschovsky Staiti, 2005). In addition to the results, three sets were identified between
barriers and in to show a connection to the results in providing health care. First the convenience of
use barrier states that in the rural areas the populations are lower and the residents have a tendency to
wait to seek care, travel far distances for their appointments and after arrival, wait longer to be seen by
a physician. The second barrier, provider supply , stresses that services are few in the rural areas

Nuclear Safety Regulations And Measures
On March 11, 2011, an earthquake large enough to cause the earth axis to shift by several inches (p. 3)
sent a massive tsunami rushing towards a forested stretch of the Japanese coast south of Sendai where
the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power reactors stood vulnerable (p. 4). Over the ensuing weeks, the
world watched in horror as a natural disaster transformed into a man made catastrophe: fail safes
failed, cooling systems shut down, nuclear rods melted, communications broke down, hazardous
radioactive exposures and contamination occurred, and masses of people were displaced. Safety of
nuclear power plants is a very important topic that has significant local and global implication for
environmental health. This book was chosen to help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To summarize, after the earthquake, the initial shutdown of Fukushima s reactors went according to
plan; the real problem was when the second wave of the tsunami struck. A fifty feet high wave easily
surged over the seawall, destroying seawater pumps and drowning the plant s electrical system and
power panels. This rendered the emergency backup generators unusable and lead to a station blackout.
Without any power to run the pumps and valves needed to provide a steady flow of cooling water, the
radioactive fuel would overheat, the remaining water would boil away, and the core would proceed
inexorably toward a meltdown. (p. 12) Serious communication problems between TEPCO [Tokyo
Electric Power Company, operator of the plant] and the multilayered Japanese government and its
huge nuclear bureaucracy hampered recovery efforts in the hours that followed the nuclear crisis. On
paper, all these duties and responsibilities may have seemed clear. In practice, however, the system
proved unworkable. (p. 16) Fukushima nuclear disaster sparked the debate about the safety of nuclear
power in general and the nuclear plant designs in particular such as how to improve on the current
plants safety designs to prevent another Fukushima like scenario from ever happening. The

Indian Writing in English
Chapter 1 Introduction Indian writing in English has a comparatively short but highly stimulating
history. In 1793, Sake Dean Mahomed wrote conceivably the first book by an Indian in English, called
The Travels of Dean Mahomed . However, most early Indian writing in English was non fictional
work, such as biographies and political essays. This began to change in the late 1800s, when famous
Indian authors who wrote mostly in their mother tongue, began to try their hand at writing in English.
In the early 1900s, Rabindranath Tagore began translating his works from Bengali to English. During
the start of 1917 Dhan Gopal Mukerji wrote a number of stories mostly for children with Indian setup.
He was honored with the Newbery medal in 1928 for Gay Neck, the Story of a Pigeon. Soon after, a
whole new generation of Indian authors, who wrote almost exclusively in English appeared. Starting
in 1935 with R.K. Narayan s most famous collection titled Swami and Friends and Mulk Raj Anand s
Untouchable followed by Raja Rao s book Kanthapura in 1938.The thing that distinguished Narayan
s, Anand s and Rao s works from the Indian authors before them was the use of Indianess in their work
which can be very well seen in terms of the words and style they used. They also brought forward the
story of the Indian common man. This gave birth to new ranks of Indians reading English literature.
Their works were the precursors to the magnificent

It is common belief that music was first incorporated into films in the early 1900 s, to help drown out
the noises the projector made during viewing. In the early days, this musical coverage was provided

musician or musicians would be provided with cue sheets that served as a story map or guide to

  • 2. Galileo was the Greatest Innovator and Scientific Mind of... I decided to stand alone on the throne of the world, because I believe all good philosophers fly alone like eagles. (Axelrod 9 ) . Galileo is one of the greatest scientific minds and innovators of his time. Many questioned his methods of discovery, reasons for why something was happening in experiments he conducted. Galileo s reasoning is the focal point to his research and helps with the idea of understanding how he thought. Galileo s inventions were the most innovative and advanced in his field at the time. Most importantly Galileo was just trying to find truth , Galileo was honest when he said that if the bible seemed to say something different from what science said, then one had just misinterpreted the bible ,(Axelrod 8 ). Provided the research and experiments Galileo had done his theories and ideas are correct for his time. As a scientist, Galileo experimented with many theories on how the universe was structured and found the copernican theory to be the most sensible but had trouble proving his system to be true. Galileo s commitment to explanation as the basis for justification for his research is stronger than most of his other methods for explaining the environment around him. How Galileo found his truths are thorough his research. Galileo started to reason the tides and the flow of the waves of the ocean,How the waves relate to the motion of the earth and it s motion in relation to Copernican theory of the universe the timing and magnitude of specific ... Moreover, she gives lectures to audience at many universities, such as such as Long Island University, Barnard College and ACDFA (University of Akron), because she believes through education, the next contributor to the dance field may appear among those audiences. Most of her face was covered by a hat. I think she may believe that without facial expression and eye contact interference, the information conveyed through the body movements is the purest and the most powerful. Significantly, the voices of Betty Carter and Ella Fitzgeral made her dance more vivid and flexible. Along with music, every step of her dance looks like a mechanical stiffness, but the overall situation is like fluid flowing, making people feel vitality and energy. • 4. Theories Of Biological Determinism The first theories to explain criminality said that society could tell that certain people were criminals because of how they looked. There are quite a few theories that talk about determining criminals by how they look. One example is biological determinism. Biological determinism said that criminals were born and that criminologists could determine the crime that these criminals would commit based off of their body type. For example, phrenology studied the bumps on people s heads. Franz Joseph Gall theorized that certain areas of the brain controlled certain behaviors and traits (Grau). The areas that were larger were considered to be more important so these areas could be felt by phrenologists to find the dominant traits of the brain. There was also the somatotype school that said body build and behavior were related. There are three body types that were brought to the United States by William Sheldon. These types were endomorph, mesomorph, and ectomorph. Endomorphs committed fraud, mesomorphs committed violent offenses, and ectomorphs were thieves and swindlers. ... Henry Goddard also believed that there was a connection between criminals and their intelligence level. Goddard conducted tests at the Vineland Training School for Feebleminded Boys and Girls in New Jersey and found that the cutoff for normal intelligence was the mental age of 13 (Grau). An example of a hereditary theory is the XYY syndrome. This is when males were an extra Y chromosome. During a study researchers found that inmates with the extra Y chromosome were taller, more aggressive, and more violent (Adler 83). This theory has since been disproved because not all criminals had this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to article 24 of the UN Charter, the foundational treaty of the United Nations, the UN Member States have conferred the primary responsibility of maintenance of international peace and security to the Security Council and have agreed that this body, in order to carry on this duty, acts on their behalf. The Member States have agreed to accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council through article 25 of the Charter.4 While other organs of the United Nations can only make recommendations to governments, the UNSC is the only organ capable of issuing resolutions that are legally binding on all Member States. Its main responsibility is maintaining international peace and security and when faced with a conflict . • 6. Fear In The Things They Carried, By Tim O Brien The Things They Carried, by Tim O Brien is a story of a group of soldiers going through Vietnam during the war. It describes the mental burdens outweigh the physical agony that soldiers in war must carry. Depends on each soldier, they carry both tangible and intangible items. O Brien argues that uncertainty, responsibility, and fear that soldiers experience much outweigh the physical torture that they had to endure to keep them alive, burdens eased only slightly after the hope of returning home. The mental strain that probably weighs most on the mind of people is fear. This fear emanates from many sources. The men are perpetually haunted by the fear that they may die. Lavender death and how people react to it shows its effect on the soldiers. Kiowa express the feeling of weigh that the threat of death has on men, when he described Lavender s death: Boom down, he said. Like cement . Lavender s death is described as being akin to stone, something massive and heftily ponderous. The death of Lavender is reiterated an abundance of times throughout the story. • 7. Persuasive Essay On Zoos Introductory paragraph: Introductory paragraph: Did you know that zoos kill 5000 healthy animals a year in Europe its self. Society today has made it their utmost priority to entertain the crowd that even torturing animals, snatching them away from their families, and forgetting about their feelings means nothing. Zoos do not give the warm and comforting environment that animals once used to have. These animals feel depressed, miserable, and tortured, but are forced to pretend to smile and play in front of the crowd. Zoos should definitely not be perceived as a place for entertainment for the reason that they deprive animals of natural habitat, harm animals mentally, and damage them physically. Zoos should be forbidden as they bring a lot of life threatening harms to animals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The same study also found out that Tigers and lions have around 18,000 times less space in zoos than they would in the wild and Polar bears have well over one million times less space. Elaboration: These animals are not experiencing the feeling of living in an open natural place, although zoos make every effort to expand, it is still not enough to compare with the open vast wild where animals once used to live. For example In the wild elephants walk about 30 miles a day in herds, in zoos they don t get enough space for their 30 mile walks and only get a couple of other elephants to be with. This is unnatural and unfair. Evidence: Zoo programs such as (AZA) and (SSP) help conserve endangered species; they capture the animals, breed them, and then let them ... One of the primary purposes of the Youth Offender Team is to review the juvenile s history and examine any offences that the juvenile has committed. • 9. B-Complex Vitamin Group Lab Report The B complex vitamin group is made up of a family of eight vitamins: thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pyroxidine (vitamin B6), folate (folic acid, vitamin B9), cobalamin (vitamin B12), biotin and pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). Although each of these has its own independent function, they work in synergy in many different ways in the body, acting as co enzymes to help the body obtain energy from food, for example, or supporting red blood cell formation. This vital group of nutrients are water soluble, meaning that they dissolve in water. This results in poor storage in the body and therefore a need to obtain a regular supply from our diet or supplement. The water soluble status of B vitamins also means that they are easily destroyed or washed out during food storage or preparation. Proper storage and preparation of food can minimise vitamin loss so you should always refrigerate fresh produce, keep milk and grains away from strong light, and use cooking water from vegetables to prepare soups. Here is a closer look at each one.... THIAMIN (vitamin B1) WHAT DOES IT DO? This useful vitamin helps to release energy from food, promotes muscle function (especially in the heart), red blood cell and amino acid production, looks after the maintenance of the nervous system and supports digestion. WHERE IS IT FOUND? In whole grains, oats, red meat, seafood, nuts, pulses and yeast. WHAT IF WE DON T GET ENOUGH? A deficiency in beneficial bacteria can reduce the body s own production of B vitamins, while medication and alcohol consumption can both increase the demand and excretion of thiamin. Thiamin is easily lost through food processing. NATURAL HEALTH 73 natural EAT In the second part of a new series looking at key vitamins and minerals, nutritional therapist Henrietta Norton explores the importance of the B vitamin group RIBOFLAVIN (vitamin B2) WHAT DOES IT DO? Like thiamin, this helps to release energy from food, but it also supports mucus membranes (including those in the eye), assists in neurological health, promotes skin and hair strength (as it acts as an antioxidant) and supports the immune system and the production of antibodies. • 10. Iphigenia And Benazir Bhutto And Greek Mythology Greek mythology and its characters are often symbolic representations of people in reality. Such symbolism continues to serve its purpose even today, seen through parallels between characters and people, as well as stories and events. Such a parallel is present in comparing Iphigenia, a Greek mythical character, to Benazir Bhutto, the first female Pakistani prime minister. Although, one is mythical and the other, a historical figure, there are corresponding themes and parallels in their stories and in the motivations behind their actions. Iphigenia was known for her bravery at Aulis where she submitted herself for sacrifice for the good of Greece, in order to advance and glorify the nation. As such, Benazir Bhutto was known for her bravery in Pakistan where she worked to advance and glorify the nation, ultimately ending in her assassination. Though their stories are not identical, there are many undeniable common themes and parallels present. Both the women were daughters to significant political figures of the time, Iphigenia being the daughter of Agamemnon and Benazir Bhutto being the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, a former Pakistani prime minister. Being the daughters of significant political figures of the time placed both the females on the path to their eventual deaths and the glory that accompanied their deaths. In addition, both Iphigenia and Benazir Bhutto were females and undoubtedly, treated differently from the males of the time. Glory for either of them, being females, was usually attained through motherhood, marriage, and other traditionally feminine roles. This is, also, why Iphigenia mentions that her death will be what I ll be remembered by. Let that stand for me in place of the children and the marriage (Iphegenia in Aulis line 1396). Both of them attempted to hide from their fate. Iphigenia attempted to hide when the army was coming to take her to sacrifice. Benazir Bhutto, also, hid by going into self imposed exile to Dubai in 1998. Both of the women had many people wanting their death, and the people wanting their death in each story were motivated by a vision they had for their nation, be it Greece or Pakistan. • 11. My Visit to Centennial Village Historical Site in Greeley I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed visiting the Centennial Village historical site in Greeley. I happened to visit this museum on the perfect day because there were children from different schools dressed up and living how the people in Northern Colorado lived more than 100 years ago. With the children all dressed up like people used to dress, and doing the chores that they used to take on really made it the feel like I was back in time. I got to experience dozens of historical sites, live animals, schools, and businesses that really helped me understand part of Northern Colorado s history. One of my favorite parts about this museum was how we got to see all the different immigrants homes that made this region so culturally diverse. If I were living in Colorado around these times I most likely would be living in a Stone House because teachers typically lived in these types of houses. These houses where located on Eagle s Nest Ranch right out of Greeley and were made up of stones. These houses where primarily made up for ranchers and teachers. Another type of house is called the Swedish American House, (STUGA) these homes tend to be a little nicer than the Stone houses and reflect a blend of Old and New World Culture. These one room framed dwellings with a boxer roof were typically houses for the Swedish immigrants. Another group that migrated to Northern Colorado was the Spanish. My goal today is to explain why the confederate statue should stay or should be taken down everywhere in the United States. There is three Main points that I m going to states and defend in this Essay and tell you why I believe in them and there purposes. First why we need to keep them and not take them down. Second they will help educated the future people for the better. Last of all I think that we should keep the statues all the way and this is why. Why should we keep the statues you may ask, well there is no right or wrong answer for this topic but I will do my best to defend my point and belief of why these statues should not be torn down. The biggest reason I don t want these statues torn down is that it s not just a big piece of metal sitting there or a regular statue, these are statues that have history behind them over the years on when the south fought the north for a big turn for American history. People think they are racist or wrong, but really they show where we are from and what we are about. This Battle goes back to a massive shooting in 2015, when Dylan Roof shot nine people in a dominant black church in Charleston, SC. Thus starting of the Statues being taken down across America. The responsibility of feeding the family members, especially babies, and men weighs heavy and it is the responsibility of the women to arrange for a hearth and collect food materials for the purpose. With this framework, the presents of civility or incivility should be viewed as a dependent of the context of the topic and website (Coe et. al., 2014; Herbst, 2010). Anonymity comes in multiple forms; a common one being pseudonymity. When using a pseudonym, a person uses another name other than his or her own to associate with. It is very common to see pseudonymity on the Internet, since websites rarely check for the true identity of the individual users, and it is often beneficial to protect a user s privacy. Studies generally confirm that anonymity emboldens incivility in CMC. Strom and Strom (2005) found that when abusers lack face to face contact with those being persecuted, they may not know the level of distress that their misconduct is causing. Furthermore, online anonymity makes misdeeds difficult to trace, easy for cyberbullies to avoid responsibility for their misdeeds, and reduces fear of being caught and punished. Through interviewing people from various countries and socioeconomic levels, Kang, Brown, and Kiesler (2013) found that about half of those they interviewed sought anonymity for malicious reasons like hacking or socially undesirable activities such as flaming or browsing violent or pornographic website. This nonfictional book centers around the lives of six survivors two women, two doctors, a Reverend, and a Father of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. Throughout the book, the author traces their lives before, during, and after the massive bombing that killed nearly three fourths of Hiroshima s entire population. The book s setting, Hiroshima bombing in 1945, is a significant element in the story as it shapes the tone, mood, and vividness of the book, altogether making it a fascinating story. Moments before the bombing, Hersey briefly describes what his six characters are doing. For one of the characters, the author writes, Dr. Terufumi Sasaki, a young member of the surgical staff of the city s large, modern Red Cross Hospital, walked along one of the hospital corridors with a blood specimen for a Wassermann test in his hand... The first two planes hit the World Trade center and killed everyone on board and hundreds inside the buildings. Over the ensuing weeks, the world watched in horror as a natural disaster transformed into a man made catastrophe: fail safes failed, cooling systems shut down, nuclear rods melted, communications broke down, hazardous radioactive exposures and contamination occurred, and masses of people were displaced. Safety of nuclear power plants is a very important topic that has significant local and global implication for environmental health. This book was chosen to help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To summarize, after the earthquake, the initial shutdown of Fukushima s reactors went according to plan; the real problem was when the second wave of the tsunami struck. A fifty feet high wave easily surged over the seawall, destroying seawater pumps and drowning the plant s electrical system and power panels. This rendered the emergency backup generators unusable and lead to a station blackout. Without any power to run the pumps and valves needed to provide a steady flow of cooling water, the radioactive fuel would overheat, the remaining water would boil away, and the core would proceed inexorably toward a meltdown. On paper, all these duties and responsibilities may have seemed clear. In practice, however, the system proved unworkable. (p. 16) Fukushima nuclear disaster sparked the debate about the safety of nuclear power in general and the nuclear plant designs in particular such as how to improve on the current plants safety designs to prevent another Fukushima like scenario from ever happening. During the start of 1917 Dhan Gopal Mukerji wrote a number of stories mostly for children with Indian setup. He was honored with the Newbery medal in 1928 for Gay Neck, the Story of a Pigeon. Soon after, a whole new generation of Indian authors, who wrote almost exclusively in English appeared. Starting in 1935 with R.K. Narayan s most famous collection titled Swami and Friends and Mulk Raj Anand s Untouchable followed by Raja Rao s book Kanthapura in 1938.The thing that distinguished Narayan s, Anand s and Rao s works from the Indian authors before them was the use of Indianess in their work which can be very well seen in terms of the words and style they used. They also brought forward the story of the Indian common man. This gave birth to new ranks of Indians reading English literature. Their works were the precursors to the magnificent ...
