distress. He was intubated and sent to the ICU for supportive care.
II. Physical and Laboratory Findings
On examination, the physician listened to CW s lungs, noting there was diminished lung sounds with
crackling. Chest X ray showed acute pneumonia in both lungs. The physician also noted swelling in

happen overnight. It is when something has left a painful memory or visible sore that requires
attention. Time tends to heal pain, but pain can take years for a cure. Healing requires constant
attention to the areas where the brokenness, pain and hurting remains. I remember falling off of a set
of stairs and twisting my ankle. My ankle became extremely swollen to the point where I could not
walk. I had to literally crawl to the restroom and back into my room. I thought it was a minor sprain,
but it turned out to be a major fracture. The pain at times was extreme and required close attention. In
order to begin the healing process, I had to face the pain and provide constant care in order for healing
to begin to settle in. I had to use different techniques that include soaking, medicating and wrapping
my ankle to reduce the swelling. I had to be extremely careful not to apply too much pressure to my
ankle which required me to keep my ankle elevated and apply ice. After a period of time my ankle was
healed and I was able to walk again without bearing any pain.
I shared the example of my ankle to connect this analogy with how we experience and deal with pain

Culture can be defined as customs, attitudes and beliefs that is shared throughout a group of members
that is part of society. These attitudes, customs and beliefs are passed down from generation to
generation (Ali Abadi 2015). However, as time progress some cultures may change slightly, but still
keep the most distinctive aspects that are unique to a particular culture.
Culture is important because, it defines our values and beliefs, and that is, essentially, what guides the
decisions we make (Kumar 2012). Culture plays a big role in how we behave in specific situations and
how we perceive the world around us. Culture determines how its members interact with each other.
According to Griffin and Pustay (2007) the global environment is impacted by the elements of culture.
These elements includes social structure, religion, communication methods, language, norms and
attitudes. Cultures can also be collectivist, which is when the needs and goals of the culture as a whole
is placed above the needs and goals of an individual, or individualist, which is when individual needs
take priority over collective needs of a group (Cherry 2015).
For this reason it can be said that one s culture influences one s drive to work, what one would expect
the work place to be like and how the workplace operates on a daily basis as well how to treat co

Utilize Hess s Law to determine the heat of reaction of a combustion reaction.
Procedures
Part A Reaction of Magnesium with Hydrochloric Acid:
Materials were gathered and the mass of a calorimeter was measured, then HCl was poured into the
calorimeter and the mass was measured again. A 7 cm magnesium ribbon strip was cut into two parts,
approximately 4 cm and 3 cm, respectively. The temperature of the HCl was recorded, then the 3 cm
magnesium strip was added to the solution and the temperature was measured again. Another trial was
conducted with the 4 cm strip after the disposal of the first mixture.
Part B Reaction of Magnesium Oxide with Hydrochloric Acid:
Materials were gathered and the mass of a calorimeter was measured, then HCl was poured into the
calorimeter and the mass was measured again. The temperature of the hydrochloric acid was recorded,
then .20 grams of magnesium oxide was added to the HCl solution and the temperature was measured
for the highest achieved value. Another trial was conducted after the disposal of materials.
