The microscope was invented by a father and son, Hans and Zaccharias Janssen.
They were once looking at the lens of a magnifying glass and decided to put the

The most beautiful building among these is the Mosque. The Mosque was built in
early 1990 s and is American built, almost entirely by local architects and local
artists. There is a fountain in front of the Mosque and a second fountain inside the
vestibule. These fountains have come from as far away as Egypt, Syria and Saudi
Arabia and are merely for decoration though in older times fountains were used for
washing before prayer.

the middle and a hallway to each side lined with a shelf for shoes. Shoes are not worn
in a Mosque because it is a place of worship to Allah, the Arabic word for God,
where cleanliness is all important. Shoes will have dirt on them. One cannot go

fountain are restrooms, one for men, one for women. Inside the restrooms is where

My favorite three dimensional sculpture is Diminish and Ascend by the artist
David McCracken. This beautiful and amazing sculpture looks like a stairway to
heaven, reaching over the edge of a cliff and reducing in size as it rises to what
seems like infinity. When in reality it is a staircase that you couldn t climb, literally
or figuratively. Even so, the staircase is an eye catching piece that will make it
viewers stop to look, while also making imaginations start and minds wonder.
Diminish and Ascend is an In the round sculpture, this meaning that it lets its
viewers view it from many different angles. Although from all angles it appears to
be a long climb to the top that goes beyond the Earth s atmosphere, it is nothing
more than an optical illusion. It s really only 30 feet long and 15 feet high and sits
on a hill at Bondi Beach in Australia. Just like when the chapter refers to light and
kinetic sculptures to change an art pieces appearance, McCracken uses his illusion
to change the way his views perceive his work. While he did not use kinetics for his
illusion, he took into consideration the visual effects related to the effect on distance.

Elia Kazan s On the Waterfront is a film that tries to show the reasoning for someone
in a difficult situation. For example, the struggle someone goes through when trying
to figure out what the right thing to do for them morally. The film follows Terry, a
brutish type character yet very empathetic of a man. This type of character makes the
audience feel for someone going through this kind of turmoil as they feel for him in a
way as though it were themselves having this dilemma. On the Waterfrontplays with
the gray area in life, and frustration of it there never being a black and white answer.
For Terry, the symbol for the black or bad guys are the people who are his only
family and were there for him his whole life. The white or good guys being love

Time of the Butterflies is a historical novel by Julia Alvarez. It follows the lives of
the four Mirabal sistersin the Dominican Republic during the time of the Trujillo
dictatorship. These four sisters: DedГ©, Patria, Minerva, Maria Teresa, were Las
Mariposas, The Butterflies and were symbols of defiant hope in a country
shadowed by dictatorship and despair. They sacrificed their safe, cozy lives in the
name of freedom and in this novel, they speak across the centuries to tell their own
stories. Las Mariposas describe the everyday horrors of life under the Dominican
dictator Trujillo, from tales of secret crushes to gunrunning and prison torture. Julia
Alvarez states that, A novel is not, after all, a historical document, but a way to travel

In this competitive world, everyone is attempting to earn more money than others
and due to this race they are losing their original purpose which is to have healthy
relationships with others and enjoy their life. Individuals these days very much
indulge in themselves and are not spending adequate time with others. Research
performed by scientists showed that isolation is one of the contributing causes of
depressionand other mental health disorders. People have begun to appreciate money
and fame more than their own happinesswhich is causing their life to be empty and
meaningless. In the poem The Desert Places by Robert Frost the narrator encounters
loneliness and isolation and talks about how it s affecting his mental well being...
I am too absent spirited to count; The loneliness includes me unawares. Speaker
feels that anything or anybody around him belong to others, yet not him, impelling
him to feel all the more lonely and depressed. The forested areas around him are the
ones that claim the field and no other creatures can ask to share it because it does
not belong to them. The speaker feels the same way as he sees people around him
sharing love and care with each other, but he can t share that love in the light of the
fact that it does not belong to him, which makes the speaker all the more lonely and
that s the reason why it s demolishing his happiness.
There are several different examples of my lifetime experiences that demonstrates

my happiness is the point at which I begin fighting with my loved ones because of a
few false impressions and eventually I become alone and isolated because I have
nobody to talk with about my feelings. I have encountered an awful breakup with my
girlfriend recently and because of that I am having some difficulty trusting
individuals, even the individuals who are close to me. I was extremely happy in the
relationship, but when I found out that my girlfriend cheated on me, I couldn t handle

Dissociative Disorders
Dissociative disorders are one of the most controversial disorders that exist. It is
often argued that the disorder does not actually exist and that people are over
diagnosed. Dissociative disorders is a type of psychological disorder that involve a
sudden loss of memory of change in identity due to the dissociation (separation) of
the individual s conscious awareness from previous memories and thoughts. A
common example of a dissociation is when an individual daydreams and becomes
unaware of the passage of time. However, this is just a very mild case of
dissociation and is normal to experience. The NAMI (National Alliance on Medical
Health) declares that approximately half of Americans have experienced a
dissociative episode in their life but only two percent of those cases are severe
enough to meet the full criteria of chronic episodes. This disorder is more often found
in women rather than men.
There are three main types of dissociative disorders along with a fourth type that is
less often categorized. The types of dissociative disorders are dissociative amnesia,
dissociative fugue, dissociative identity disorder (DID), and depersonalization or
derealization. Dissociative amnesia is characterized by extreme memory loss that is
caused by extensive psychological stress. Individuals with dissociative amnesia can
easily remember everyday tasks and procedural memories but they are unable to
remember their own identity and

Fashion Marketing is a way to contribute to the field of the fashion industry s process
to success. I have always seen fashion marketing and communications as an
opportunity, appreciation and passion for fashion and all that it stands for. Jobs
within fashion marketing can include; merchandising, product development and
production, trend forecasting, public relations, visual merchandising and marketing
and leadership related positions. A large part of all these jobs is having an
understanding for what consumers enjoy, love and want to spend their money on.
