The document summarizes the results of a survey of 21 people aged 16-19 (10 male, 11 female) about indie music preferences and interest in a potential new music magazine. Key findings include: respondents listen to a broad range of indie artists; lyrics and bands/artists are the biggest attractors to indie music; most would pay £1-2 for a magazine; 20 do not currently read music magazines, citing cost and lack of interest; free gifts and exclusive content would encourage buying a magazine; and respondents expressed preferences for cover designs, contents pages, and article styles. This market research provides guidance on creating an indie music magazine to fill a gap for this target audience.

9 people say they are attracted to indie music because of the lyrics of the songs

3 people say the image of the indie genre
These results show me that people are mostly attracted to the lyrics of the songs so I could maybe
do a feature on popular lyrics from songs also they are attracted to the bands and artists themselves
so they must be a big feature but only 3 people are attracted to the image so that is not as important
