3. Reason for choosing final image.
The reason I chose this image is because it
relates to my target audience which is teenagers.
My article is about Grime and how it started. I go
in depth of talking about Professor Green. I used
a teenage girl so the article comes across as
more relatable towards the target audience. Also
I wanted to use my primary images as it would
look better and it also made my article look more
professional. I chose this due to having my own
canon camera which gave out good quality. Also
in the article I talk about the new generation and
grime so I thought it was a good idea to use a
teenage as my main front cover image. I made
sure my model wore casual wear as it suits the
purpose of my article e.g. a hoodie. I chose to
take these images in the photoshoot as it had a
natural white backdrop which is what I wanted.
Also it gave a good simple look this is what I
wanted. My outcome was to have the shoot
naturalistic as possible. This meant I had to take
as many shots to select my final shot.
4. Sourcing and importing this material to InDesign
I started of by having an A4 double page spread. In this article I wanted one column
containing text and the next page to have the main article image. I had one gutter
going down. I wanted my article to be simple as it is aimed for teenagers. I added text
boxes at places where I knew I wanted text. I also used the tool rectangle frame tool
so the image will place directly on the area I selected. I made sure the boxes were
evenly spaced so it looked more professional.
5. I decided to pick the title “THE IMPACT OF GRIME” because it suited the purpose of
my article which was the influence of Grime and how the genre of music has come a
long way. I used the font Minion Pro as it looked good with my article it also gave a
eye-catching but simple look as it is for teenagers and I wanted my target audience to
be influenced by my article. I then went on to adding a subheading which summarises
what my article is about “East London Grime & Youth Professor Green” This is used so
the audience know what they are reading about and what the main topics would be
included if they read my article. I also included “Article by Stacey Francesca Johnson”
so the readers know who the article is by.
6. Next I decided to add my text which was not hard at all. I used the “Type tool” which
was easy as all I did was place the text box where I needed it and copy and pasted
my article into the selected box. I made sure the text was not too small or not too
big. I made sure there was not too much text as my target audience is targeted for
teenagers. I want my audience to be informed but entertained at the same time.
7. Evidence of importing- e.g. print screens showing the source,
file formats such as JPEGs, AIs, ID, uploading and transferring
from other devices such as cameras and / or your smartphone
It was easy to send my images from my
photoshoot as I connected my camera to the
computer so I could automatically send the
pictures to my email. I then dragged all images
into a folder I made “Photography Pictures” so no
images get lost. I then took a screenshot of the
format it is saved as which is JEPG.
8. The final outcome
My final article came out good as I knew where to assign my text. I chose my preffered
image in my article as I felt that it fit the target audience. Also my articles is mainly
about Grime and youth which led me onto having a theme. Which is to wear a hoodie
white top, jeans and trainers so it goes well with my final product. I chose to have a
white back drop so the focus is on the model. Over all I think my article has improved
since my feedback and is structured very well.
