3. Educational technology is "the
study and ethical practice of
facilitating learning and
improving performance by
creating, using, and managing
appropriate technological
processes and resources"
Educational technology is focused on
introducing, reinforcing, supplementing,
and extending knowledge and skills to
learners so that they can become exemplary
users of educational technology.
This course aims to infuse technology in
the student-teachers training, helping
them to meet and adapt to rapid
continuing technological changes,
particularly in the thriving global
information and communication
technology (ICT) environment.
7. Involves 3 subsets of skills namely: An
ability to access information An ability to
retrieve information An ability to reflect on,
assess and rewrite for instructive
information packages.
16. An information tool
The teacher can employ the computer as
a/an;
A communication tool
A co-constructive tool
A situating tool
17. To enhance the level of critical
thinking students do through
reflective activities, tell students to cite
course materials that have helped
them advance their knowledge and
thinking.
Computers can help teachers
preparing their lessons creative
and can help computing
students grade easily.
18. Enhancing access efficiency through
digital multimedia. Multimedia
presentations (video, images, sound,
text) can create stronger memory links
than text alone. In addition, digital
technologies allow instant playbacks,
which provide the learner with quick
and easy access to different sections
of instructional materials than when
they are using a textbook.
19. Enhancing comprehensibility through
learner control and multimedia
annotations. Video materials online can
be enhanced with full captions, key-
word captions, and speech slowdown,
allowing the reader to more easily
digest the information. Digital reading
materials can be hyperlinked to
different media, which students can
choose to help their comprehension of
the material.
20. Technology can and should
play a significant role in
how we help students
develop the skills they
need to be successful in
today
