1. Target Audience Questionnaire Results
I wanted to carry out research who my target audience were and what there expectation were of
my chosen genre and song. After releasing a questionnaire asking what type of audience such as
age, and gender, who would prefer to listen to it. I collected the results and came to the conclusion
between the age of 18-30 from my genre. However, the chosen song brought it up to 35-40 age;
mixed male and female.
To carry my research further I sent our a another questionnaire to the 18 year olds and the 40+
year olds of both genders. The aim of this was to discover what it was my audience likes about the
genre and what style and expectation they associated with the genre, so I can construct these
conventions of the genre to my music video.
I have noticed that the column where there are relationships including love and breakups are very
popular. Maybe because many pop songs do include love or breakups (taylor swift). This makes
me to consider whether I should include relationships to either challenge or to stereotype and
include these popular conventions to my music video.

Where would you listen to it?
The most popular was listening to it at home. This shows me that many people listen to soul
pop to whine down. As the older audience have listened to my chosen genre, they have
stated that they would listen to it at home more likely. This shows that the type of song needs
to be chilling and relaxing, but something to dance to and sing, either in the car orin the party.
The most popular - home, bed and car associates mostly to the female audience as well as
the ‘dancing’ at home. I will take into consideration when I am drafting my music video who I
should relate it to the most. Male or female audience.

What location would you expect in a pop
songs.
I was surprised with the results, as many of them have a smiler percentage on the
locations they have picked. Maybe this is because there are multiple locations that I
have chosen that many of the Pop songs have already used. This range of results has
given me an opportunity to experiment with a range of the locations, which will
associate well with my target audience. I found it interesting that the party locations
was the most popular. However, I need to take in more of the consideration if a party
fits well with the mood of the song. The party idea, mostly was used from the younger
target audience. However, the older audiences preferred the home and the park. I will
take this into consideration for my mature target audience.

3. I asked the style of video for my music video and the most popular was the narrative style, so I will
keep that in mind. However, the performance and the conceptual have been chosen equally. This
shows that the audience also expect a little of performance and conceptual in the music video. I
will also think about this option and question whether I should include both or all three of the types.
