2. I asked my respondents
on the first question of
the survey what age
group do they belong in.
35 of my respondents
(70%) were within the
16-24 age group, which is
the demography I will be
aiming my magazine at.
3. In total, 50 respondents took
my survey. Out of the 50 that
took my survey, 43 (86%) of
them were males. This is the
demography I will be aiming my
magazine at. To do this
successfully, I will need to focus
on the mode of address when
creating my magazine.
4. Out of the 50 that took the survey, 30 of the
respondents met my target audience – Male
between 18 and 24.

6. From this graph I can see that a
lot of my respondents are quite
intellectual, going into higher and
further education. Using my
mode of address, I will make my
magazine quite formal without
any child-like puns or colours.

This was an important question to ask my respondents when deciding the price
of my magazine. With the majority of my respondents being at university, income
will not be very high for them, so a magazine will need to be at a reasonable price
for them to buy it. £1.50-£3 seems like a reasonable price, and I will use price
penetration and sell my magazine for £1.50
8. I asked each 30 of the
respondents who matched my
target demographic which three
music types they like the most.
The three that came out on top
were rock, indie and
pop, although punk did come
close. From this I can see that a
mixture of the four most popular
music types will sell to this
demographic
9. From asking my
respondents this, I can see
that a lot of music
nowadays is downloaded
illegally. Instead of
advertising recorded music
in my magazine, I should
advertise a lot of live music
instead
10. I asked my respondents who
their role model is and 10
said celebrity, 10 said family
member, 2 said no one and 8
said inspirational figure. From
this I can decide to include a
variety of different people in
my magazine
11. I believe you can tell a lot about
somebody by the type of clothes they
wear. For example, someone who
wears Fred Perry and Pretty Green may
be quite mod-ish, whilst someone who
wears Nike and Adidas may be sporty.
Here the five most popular brands
were Topman, River Island, Fred
Perry, Hollister and Adidas. I can use
these brands in advertising and in the
style of clothes my artists wear in
photoshoots.
