Who would be the audience for
your media product?
2. The audience for my media product is targeted at
teenagers and young adults, in the age range of around
16 to 30. My music magazine IndieRock is targeted at
both males and females with a real unisex insight to
the magazine. Although there is no barrier stopping
anyone over the age of 30 or under the age of 16
reading this magazine, the articles and style the
magazine has is mainly situated for the age range
mentioned.
When deciding my target audience, I looked through
my questionnaire results and considered the response I
got. The fact that I handed out the majority of my
questionnaire to teenagers, means the age range is
most likely to be between 16-18 years old. So using
that information, I could come up with a reader profile:
I will be aiming my music magazine mainly towards the
age range of 16-22 year olds; both male and female.
This is due to my research showing that people are
most interested in Indie and Rock music. Although I
know from other research that between the ages of
20-30 people are very interested in Indie and Rock so
this is targeted at them.
