ADJECTIVES TO DESCRIBE COLOURS Light Bright Vivid Glowing Vibrant Fluorescent Brilliant Intense Dazzling Dark Subdued Watery Gloomy Depressing Dim Dull Murky Monotonous Two or more colours that stand out next to each other are called contrasting colours. Two or more colours that blend into each other are called complimenting colours.
